thanks for letting me know! they've reacted to the first half of season one so far: ep 1, eps 2-3, eps 4-5

watching reactors is difficult for me because i just end up wanting to watch skam on its own, like i'm sitting here telling him to be quiet! but for real he's funny. while the girls were visiting skrulle for vilde's birth control, and skrulle's going off on her li'l speech about periods/bleeding, he's like:

is that a real thing? or she just lyin'. ...well i wouldn't know 'cause i'm a virgin so.

It’s pretty obvious now, that the season’s big obstacle wasn’t Mailin’s performativ activism, because after these looks and comments she only got praise for it (except from her mum and shortly Zoe). It seems like the people who didn’t get her message were the problem, not Mailin’s delivery of it. Which is such a shallow take on the topic. They never really looked at her behaviour critically. I can’t wrap my head around why we had to end up here, when we started there.

On this lovely Monday, I am recommending an Icelandic Christmas movie called Bergmál (Echo). A quietly ruminative feature consisting of 56 thought-provoking, unconnected scenes, Bergmál is a mosaic-like portrait, both bitter and tender, of modern society and of life in contemporary Iceland just before Christmas.

Bergmál is one of those movies that make me super aware of how much US American media I’m constantly consuming. Watching the film, I felt oddly seen. Like, its not a personal or relatable movie as such, but the Nordic vibes just feel so homey, you know. Do other non-USians feel like this? When you just consume US stuff 24/7, and then you watch something that is from closer home, and you’re like “damn, that’s touching”.

Anyway, I don’t really know how to describe this movie or how to rec it, other than to say that it’s just so very mesmerising in its mundanity.

(hi just talking to myself here don’t mind me <3)

list of van der stoffels fics i want to write/have inspo for:

(yes. van der stoffels. i’m aware i’m the only one probably still hyperfixated on them but i need to create storage for all my little thoughts on them)

“before sunset” au (because them meeting by chance and spending the night together for escapism is so them??? need i say more??)

a possible lucas season (will work this one out a lot but i would like to write his season- it would either be a stand alone or a possible parallel to the jens season fic?? that sounds fun)

(POTENTIALLY) a fantasy au with the whole past lives concept + lucas being anti monarchy and jens is the prince (basically an extension of a one shot)

one in which they meet years later and it starts off at some cafe with very ambiguous emotions and conversations (i only have the title set up for this and it’s good enough to make me want to write more)

maybe a university/roommates sort of vibes one (this would probably be a bit more light hearted than the rest but still fun)

a couple more one shots probably (if i have the time and inspo)

(i am still very much here for my beloved lucas and jens and at this point it’s a sort of love that knows no end- and neither do the fics apparently)
