“You’re wearing Levi’s.” Alex said, frozen in place and very much not tuned into what Henry had just been saying. Alex was never frozen, Alex never stopped moving, but now he was as still as a statue and staring at Henry with wide and focused eyes. He clears his throat, a blush forming on his cheeks. “I am. Is that, am I. . . do they look that ridiculous.” he sighs and leans against the bar. “I have had so many sex dreams like this.” OR Henry throws Alex a Texas themed surprise party for his birthday and when Henry dresses. . . accordingly, Alex has lots of feelings about it (unashamed birthday sex Beyonce-inspired fic)

We're going back to another fic I haven't added words to in a hot second because I've been working on my RBB fic, but (lay me down), give me something to feel just means too much to me to let it go neglected for long.

The corners of Henry’s mouth tip up into a small smile. He goes back inside for a moment, grabs a blanket, and spreads it out on the grass when he returns. He sits and stretches his legs out in front of him as he leans back on his hands. Alex joins him, settling in beside him, but opting to lay back with his hands under his head. Henry can feel Alex’s eyes on his back and he finds the attentiveness of Alex’s gaze doesn’t make him uncomfortable the way the way the masses gawking at him does. He tips his head up, his eyes immediately finding Orion again, and inhales slowly. He looks at Alex over his shoulder, sees the way he looks so relaxed and comfortable, knows how easy it is for Alex to go through the world. Henry may not be able to have that every day, but he does get to have it here so he lets himself lay down next to Alex, hands coming to rest on his belly.

Okay I love the new rwrb movie but it was kind of funny to me how much they toned it down. Like in the movie you have Alex gently tell Henry "we need to talk" when he confronts him, meanwhile, in the book:

None of it is satisfying — it never has been, not really, but it never mattered as much as it does now that there’s the sharp counterpoint of Henry, who knows him. Henry who’s seen him in glasses and tolerates him at his most annoying and still kissed him like he wanted him, singularly, not the idea of him.
