Literally told @eusuntgratie I wasn't going to write this fic twenty four hours ago (lol) and then I spent my entire shower today imagining how it would play out, so like—oops I guess!!!! Have some sentences from a silly, goofy AU where they both work at a mall in the late 00s and Alex is a shirtless Abercrombie greeter. Inspired by one of my favorite bits of Nick lore. 😉

Henry has a sack lunch, a dog-eared copy of Persuasion, and a blessed half-hour of free time in which to enjoy them. A whole half-hour until he reports back to shift manager Carol and gets relegated to sorting cds or novelty bookmarks or sweeping the reading room for the remains of his shift.  The problem is that the food court is clear at the opposite end of this godforsaken complex. Henry has yet to get his bearings on the layout. Frankly he’s unsure that he ever will. American shopping malls are, in his opinion, a place where proper architectural decision making comes to die. So he dodges the pushy sales girls in front of Bath & Body Works, skids past the cellular phone kiosks and the Piercing Pagoda with its line of nervous tweens. He’s about to turn in search of the escalator when he sees perhaps the most attractive guy he’s had the pleasure of laying his eyes on since he stepped foot in this ridiculous state. Maybe ever. He’s reasonably tall. Muscular. Creamy brown skin and a mess of dark, looping curls on his head and smiling an absolutely lethal smile at whoever he’s speaking to. The kind that would get Henry out of his itchy trousers and on his knees in five seconds or less. Not to mention he’s bloody shirtless.

Photographers all know about polarizing filters. They remove reflections off the surfaces of objects. We use them to see into water or windows that are obscured by those reflections. But anything with an even slightly glossy surface has a layer of reflection on top. So if you have a shiny green plant, it can remove the shiny and reveal a very saturated green underneath. Polarizers also remove a lot of scattered and reflected light from the sky. Which reveals a deep blue color you didn't even know was there.

Here is a photo I took of my circular polarizer.

And the first thing I noticed when walking outside during the eclipse was the color of everything was more saturated, just like in that circle. Apparently, an eclipse significantly reduces polarized light and I got this creepy feeling because I was only ever used to seeing the world like that through the viewfinder of my camera.

The other thing I noticed was my outdoor lights. I leave them on all the time because I never remember to turn them on at night. And usually the sun will render them barely visible during the day. On a very sunny day they almost look like they are off.

But you can clearly see they are shining and even flaring the camera during the eclipse.

Our eyes adjust to lighting changes very well so it was hard to tell how much dimmer things were, but that is a good indication. I took this photo a few minutes ago and you can see how dim the lights appear after the moon has fucked off.

I did a calculation using the exposure settings between these two photos. The non-eclipse photo has 7 f-stops more light. That is 128 times or 12,700% more light.

A partial Pringle eclipse cut the sun's light by 99.2% and somehow our eyes adjusted to make it seem like a normal sunny day (with weird ass saturated colors).

it's incredible that in s2 of IWTV, of the four leads and six possible relationship configurations we are definitely going to see 5/6 of them (ArmandLouis, ArmandDaniel, ArmandLestat, LouisDaniel, LouisLestat) explored in what I imagine will be overwhelming, viscerally upsetting, disorientingly sexual, very gay emotional detail. and this is saying nothing of all their little polycules! god what an incredible premise. what a feverish little web of connections. a living breathing cacophony of unbalanced men that all want to fuck and kill and marry each other. I have never felt so invigorated in my fucking life I swear to fucking god

tumblr, which is held together with duct tape and madness, run by three raccoons in blood stained Yahoo! hats and a handful of crabs, its only discernible source of income the sale of shoelaces from an inside joke so inside no one knows the original source anymore and fake blue checkmarks... that website still lives on

truly the cockroach of social media and I love it for that
