Unrelated but the thought of ex convict Geto just being so gentle and smilely with his girls and all the other mother just watching him. Or maybe they are all waiting for their kids to be dismissed from school and have small talk about random things and all the moms realize he is the whole package. Hot, attentive, funny, etc.

ANYWAYYYYYYYYY I RAISE U THIS !! the pre school teacher is young, not much younger than u and suguru. she meets him 1-on-1 one day after he runs a little late to picking them up and has to stay with the girls till he shows up. she’s a bit annoyed that the guy with tattoos is late bc she’s heard about him—heard that he’s jobless and has a history of trouble. she can’t help but think to herself how he must be a lazy, unbothered parent who accidentally knocked up some chick and has taken that chance to leech off of her as he “stays for the kids.”

and then. he comes jogging up, out of breath and so, so apologetic as he rambles a string of sorry’s and it won’t happen again’s. she’s frozen—watches as the girls quickly run up to him, feels her heart skip two beats—maybe three—when he chuckles softly and says in that smooth and low voice, “hello ladies, how was school? did we do some learning? that’s important, y’know.”

nanako answers first, as she always does—she’s always the center of attention. “i dissected an owl pellet daddy,” she grins happily, “mimiko didn’t help.”

mimiko speaks up from the side, “it was gross.”

he nods, serious as ever, listening attentively as they babble and go on about their day. it’s like this is the most important part—like the world doesn’t exist when it’s his girls, like no one else matters. he gives the occasional mhm and oh, really? and oh wow! as they ramble. this might be the most their teacher has witnessed mimiko speak all year. and then he looks up and spots her, realizes she’s there and gives her the most sheepish smile she’s ever witnessed before clearing his throat.

“i’m so sorry about this,” he says gently, genuinely—like he really is sorry he’s late and like he never meant for it to happen. she’s starting to realize he didn’t, that when it comes to his girls, he takes everything seriously. including picking them up on time.

“no, that’s okay,” she mumbles softly, giving him a smile. his earrings aren’t so bad up close—in fact, they suit him really well. “the girls are a joy to be around, they’re very well behaved.”

“good,” he chuckles smoothly, grinning down at them in pride, “they get that from their mother. i’m a bit of a trouble maker,” he says fondly—and the mere thought of you softens his eyes, makes them a shade lighter as they brighten up.

right—their mother. you. he has a wife, maybe a girlfriend. she doesn’t see a ring on his finger—but either way, he’s taken. somehow, there’s a pit of disappointment weighing in her gut, sinking to her stomach and making her taste bile.

“oh, well, you guys have a beautiful family,” she smiles tightly. how did he win her over so fast—how did he manage to steal her heart so quickly? this is inappropriate, he’s the father of her students. a taken one at that—but geto is so smooth, so surprisingly gentle with an air of mystery that just makes him so desirable.

and then he slings both of his daughters’ backpacks over both his shoulders, grabs their hands and smiles sweetly as he says, “see you tomorrow!”

she hears him murmur a distant, wanna visit mommy at work? and the chorus of yeah! let’s see mommy! from the two girls. it makes her realize that maybe she was wrong about geto suguru. and somehow, she really really wishes she wasn’t—it’d be easier that way.

((just a "little" (ha) update I guess, nothing major, just a note that I'm sorry if I post alot this week with seemingly no regard for my/my muse's vast presence on the dash, or if I end up writing alot of short weird drabbles to vent.... if there's questionable stuff it'll be tagged like always <3

I understand if you need to unfollow me to keep your dash clear for other people if you're mobile etc. or if you need to blacklist my muse's url for a bit if it's overwhelming

After xmas everything may have settled and if you wanna refollow then I'd welcome you back and wouldn't ask any questions. your comfort (whatever that may classify as in the context) is my utmost priority!

normally I try not to clutter, and I try to keep general post reblogs minimal and just queue most of them. I'm just... not doing too good rn

BASICALLY I'm either gonna be kinda quiet or rly hyperfixated on not being in my own head for the next week or so.

I'm obv stressed anyway bc I need to do xmas shopping still and it's a struggle bc online it probs won't come in time. we're going "late night shopping" on thursday though so hopefully we can get a bunch of stuff then

but mainly an old work friend of mine passed away today. He's been unwell for a few years, and I dunno if he knew what it was and was just keeping it quiet, or if they genuinely couldn't work it out. last I heard he was getting MRIs.

I had a complicated relationship w him (positive) bc he was either bipolar or had BPD like me (although he wasn't diagnosed with either, but it was obvious he at least had bipolar), and if you know anything abt BPD you know what an FP (favourite person) is, and we were sort of each other's when we were working together? I think. like I say he wasn't diagnosed, but it felt like that. we hit it off really quick and were both really comfortable with each other, and he was just the sweetest most supportive person. he was one of my FPs, which basically means my brain was cursed to be in intense friendlove with him. He would tell me that he loved me and appreciated my friendship, was always saying you need to tell people you love them, however you can, however you mean it, because you don't know if you'll ever get to tell them again

he always showed off the little things I made him and made sure everyone knew exactly where he got the silly little origami animals on his desk, or who made his juggling balls that were his favourite thing in the whole world bc I made them for him by hand, and picked the fabric out specifically for him.

One time around xmas, bc of covid, we had these big plastic screen dividers between our desks and I used posca paint pens to draw him a HUGE Robin in a scarf and santa hat (his name was Robin and people always got him little Robin themed things, he loved them) on the one by his manager desk, like a name tag, but Facilities told him he needed to clean it off and chastised him thinking he did it, and you're "not supposed to vandalise work equipment" even though they're literally washable and it was xmas. we were sticking decorations everywhere, how is it any different? but he played along but he was really mad. He didn;t wanna say it was me that did it, because he thought I might've gotten in trouble, but he also wanted to argue that I'd put alot of work into it. I hadn't put that much in, it was just for fun and I liked drawing it, and he got to see it! That was the important part. and I said so. but I cleaned it off and drew him a new Robin on a piece of paper and he kept it at his desk like a retired picket sign, and told the story to anyone who would be polite enough to listen

mostly though, he gendered me correctly (and he was in his 60s so being so passionate abt they/them pronouns was just really sweet, though he was clearly bi but still in the closet, so it was maybe a little projection, in a way, or just straight up quiet queer solidarity), and literally agressively made sure everyone else did too, when he realised I'd been just letting people at work use whatever pronouns, he got really proactive and made sure all my paperwork was marked as "them" officially (with my permission). if anyone misgenered me he would get visably annoyed or disgusted, and there were a couple people who "forgot" (every time) and he actually got angry at them about it and reported them for harassment, which might've been a little extreme, but I honestly felt so validated, and I'm tearing up thinking about it. I don't think anyone's ever fought that hard in my corner, especially after only knowing me for, at that point, less than a year.

We worked together in a couple different parts of the business for a couple years, until some stuff happened that I shouldn't say bc I need my rp blog(s) to stay far away from my professional life, but we were gonna be working together doing something else, but it wasn't his thing, it was stressful and there were other reasons, but he just lost it and walked out.

we had a little joke when we were training before he left, he had this soft toy robin that he let me borrow because I was really anxious, and I gave it a little notepad and pencil and wrote something silly on it for when he got it back each time. usually some out of context joke on what we learned that day, so we could both laugh about it. but when he left I still had it, and I messaged him saying I would get it back to him sometime, but he said to keep it to remind me of him.

I put it away to keep it safe, but I'm gonna have to go and find it, because it's one of the only physical things I have left of him.

Now, I maybe misremembering bc I haven’t watched nart in years, but thinking back on it it’s crazy how little Sakura mattered to team 7s overall dynamic. It makes me so mad bc this team should be like a family but she was barely even friends with sasuke pre shippuden.

she is literally Never friends with sasuke ToT they get MARRIED and i still find it hard to believe he even likes being around her. i genuinely cannot remember a SINGLE one-on-one interaction she has with sasuke that can't be effectively described as "sakura is in love with him and he doesn't give a shit". gen the closest we get to that is after his fight with naruto when he apologizes to her for being such an asshole and she tells him that he should be sorry. THAT WAS EPIC. but anyways he def does care about her in the sense of "she is part of team 7 and i don't want her to die", but he doesn't consider her a friend. kakashi cares about her, but even though he trains one on one with both naruto And sasuke and teaches them both important skills that become staples of their fighting styles, he never does this with sakura, and she ends up training mostly under tsunade instead once team 7 dissolves for the 2.5 year naruto is off with jiraiya (i do like that she trained under tsunade and i like the stuff she learned (also because i love tsunade <33) but it def does emphasize how she just for some reason does not get solo lessons from kakashi)

i will defend her friendship with naruto though because those two def are like real actual friends and i think they're very cute, i love their interactions in shippuden especially during the arc where sai first joins them when theyre both grappling with sasuke being replaced, its just just suchhh a good display of how close they are and how much they love each other and how they rly are in this thing together. but ofc that said, esp because their best interactions are all in shippuden where team 7 is more or less dissolved, this doesnt really like. make her feel like a big part of team 7 bc as soon as sasuke is there naruto kind of forgets she exists mostly. so her contribution to the overall dynamic like you said is not really saved by the fact that naruto considers her a close friend.

whats especially frustrating is at the very start of the series, she's BETTER at controlling her chakra than naruto and sasuke. she immediately aces the walk-up-a-tree assignment, kakashi comments on her cleverness, etc, but as soon as the action starts she gets sidelined, Every Time. she spends half the battles they have as a team either 1) immediately incapacitated or 2) in the back guarding someone/something so that she can't be part of the actual combat. i did ofc ofc love love love the final scene in the fight vs kaguya when she joins naruto and sasuke in landing the final blow and kakashi is watching from the sidelines thinking about how much he loves them, oohouuh he loves them .. but ofc she'd been sidelined the whole battle with a feeew epic moments here and there so it did sort of feel like ok ladies ill throw you a bone. she can do one (1) punch ^_^ then she's getting ditched again though while naruto and sasuke collaborate on the most heartwrenching scenes of the entire series.

it rly is because kishimoto refused to define her character beyond having a crush on sasuke whenever they're on screen at the same time so her ability to contribute to the team dynamic was rly hurt. kakashi and sasuke SAYING that they care about her is great etc but i really wish they'dve SHOWED it more beyond having to protect her when she inevitably gets taken out faster than anybody else. this is why ep 101 (kakashi's mask ep) will always be famous

ive been vague and i'll still try to be bc i don't wanna gossip abt my friend but like ive reached my limit idk what to do w this ive been trying to support my friend but FUCK

my friend recently left a long term relationship that was like very committed & serious to them like they already owned pets together n were talking abt starting an adoption process in the next few years etc after the break up we also learned a lot abt the relationship my friend hadn't told the rest of us before n it has been extremely toxic n bordeline abusive so my friend has obviously been going through a lot w different emotions of relief and grief n the aftermath has like actively been traumatizing her so i'm thankful she ended it ofc but. like a day after she broke up w her partner she started going to bars every night n hooked up w this guy she used to know in middle school bc 1 she's coping but 2 at this point she was practically homeless bc she did not feel safe staying at the apartment w her ex n her family was disapproving of the breakup n she was carrying a lot of shame abt it so she took the first semi familiar person n has been staying at his place ever since bc again. she doesn't have a roof above her head otherwise. so she's in this extremely vulnerable state being houseless having just ended a relationship she's had since she was a teen she has literally never been single in her adult life and like i said this break up was traumatic. she needed to have 1 single person to support her both emotionally n physically like this all affected her physical health as well she was Not okay. so like i genuinely belive this guy is the reason she's surviving this. and let it be fucking known that i do not give a fuck that she's immediately hooking up w someone else like for all i care she could've eloped w someone the same day she broke up w her ex n i would not find anything morally wrong w that lol the problem is that this particular guy is absolutely horrid. like not to her he's been taking care of her n been treating her well but he supports this right wing party w alt right members n he himself throws around slurs n shit. so like. at first this ofc made me extremely uncomfortable n i even got scared for her like she's literally living w this dude who she's known only for weeks n she finds out this stuff abt him. regardless she continued staying w him and while that made me uneasy i just don't know what i could've done or what she could've done instead like she was literally homeless, her ex was sending her hundreds of text per day all of which were verbally abusive biphobic degrading things her family wasn't currently on good terms w her she was literally physically too weak to walk bc of how this was affecting her so like i can see how she'd latch on to the first person who shows her decency and who offers her tangible help & a place to stay. ive just been in this uncomfortable head space trying to provide support for her but also just feeling so appalled that she's w this dude. last week she finally got an apartment n can move in it so i was like okay great it's over she's leaving the guy's place finally. come to know that he's fucking moving in w her. AGain i don't caaareeee that they've only known each other for a month if someone wants to move in together at that point i don't care idcidc but i am not okay w it being a person like that n i will never want to associate him n in normal circumstances i also would have already stopped associating w a person who spends time w someone like that. now i'm just so fucking lost n feel also rly betrayed by my best fucking friend bc she's someone ive always trusted n now fucking what. n this is where i just don't know what to do.

like we've been friends for like 14 years so just. dropping her would hurt so much but if she's okay w living w this guy i just cannot be around her like it makes me actually sick to my stomach. i don't want her in my life if she's like genuinely okay w this. but like is that selfish am i wrong to leave her like that considering everything she's going through. like it's about to be a whole month since the break up n she's spend one 1 single day alone in all that time. again i'm not the fucking relationship police i don't care that she's "jumped right into another relationship" i don't CARE but i just cannot imagine that she has in anyway processed & recovered from the trauma the breakup (& the previous relationship caused her) so if she's like. just escaping a codependent toxic relationship n getting trapped in a new one w an awful guy who she literally depended on for food and shelter. shouldn't it be my responsibility as her friend to like confront her n ask her if she understands the type of person he is and if she's really okay w that like what the fuck is her thought process here. but i feel in no way equipped to do that like what would i even say.

also like genuinely not trying to sound self conceited when i say this but she has literally lost everything her relationship her apartment her dog some friends who sided w her ex n even momentarily her family until they came around n she's repeatedly emphasized how grateful she is for our (me n the rest of the friend group) help and support n how we're the only stable thing in her life rn so i'm like sincerely concerned that she'd do smth to herself if i just walked out of her life. like i feel like in the grand scheme of things my reasoning to drop her feels so meaningless n selfish like i'm just choosing some silly values over a friend who's materially suffering rn but that's not true right. like it's not just abt principles right? do i sound superficial for this... i just do not want to associate w some right wing cunts NOR w ppl who choose to live w them.

WARNINGS: swearing, pretend all the boys go to the same school and they're all friends for plot, normalize not writing serious boys as someone that practically hates their s/o and never opens up to them god bless, also no such thing as ooc since we dunno shit ab him so everything i say is law. SUPER LONG LOL, it's like 2k+ words 😭

A/N: i love my boyfriend and i'm v happy about all the attention he's getting (even if he will prob will b subbed out 👎) this was fun to write bc i think he would b very soft as bf and also i hate the notion that stoic and serious = boring and detached in a relationship. also first post w the new user yayyyy rip yoichisagis an end of an era for realsies.

it takes a while for you two to get together, just because niko wants to think things through and be sure he’s making the right decision, as well as him being naturally apprehensive about this whole dating thing.

when you do eventually start going out, keep in mind you're probably his first real anything, so-

niko needs to take it slow for the first month or so because he needs time to adjust and get used to being in a relationship.

when he gets comfortable around you, niko starts to talk a lot more.

niko starts to talk about his interests more-soccer, stem stuff (idc i'll die by my hc that he's a stem boy), etc. and niko's really happy that you're genuinely interested in what he has to say :)

and as your relationship progresses, niko becomes more inclined to share his inner thoughts.

“this song is so bad, i hate it and how it's everywhere,” like, babe that sucks, but what do you want me to do, take it off the radio myself? 😭

you find out that niko’s kind of a hater LOL, but it’s okay, because it means he can be himself around you <3 and the mini debates you have with each other are fun.

he’s someone you can take shopping with you if you need a solid second opinion.

“ikki, is this cute?” you niko as you adjust the shirt you tried on in the fitting room mirror.

“no.” he’s so straight up LOL. “the blue one from earlier was better.”

“this one?”

“yeah, that one. you look really pretty in it.”

ngl though, niko’s not much of a mall person. he'd just follow you around like a little puppy LOL, but he doesn't mind too much because it's for you.

communication is important to niko!!!!! he wants someone that he can have real conversation about the things that matter to him, so he rly makes an effort to have that kind of connection with you.

niko's naturally funny but he isn't aware that he is lol.

but when he does try, i feel like his humor comes in the form of sarcasm and dry wit. likes poking fun at you here and there with a lighthearted jab.

"you're so weird, y/n," is the most common one.

niko’s naturally closed off emotionally (male aquarius 😒) but i, personally, think he’d really try and push himself to be more open with you, especially if you expressed for him to do so </3

he'd be really appreciative of someone patient and understanding of the fact that he doesn't open up easily, though.

but eventually, you become the person closest to him- niko confides in you a lot, which he’s grateful for because he usually holds everything in.

not one for pda or other lovey-dovey things in public, other than the occasional holding of hands but behind closed doors, niko’s so soft around you, it’s like he’s a completely different person.

also, i feel like niko’s real handsy with you, i get the vibe he’s super touch starved 😭

although it does take him a while to get used to physical affection, once he has, niko cannot get enough. he’s always touching you when he has no real reason to.

(and because you're his first relationship, i feel like it’s just natural that niko’s going to be kind of clingy towards you.)

“you okay, ikki?” you ask as niko suddenly wraps his arms around your waist from behind, resting his chin on your shoulder.

“mhm,” he mumbles. “just wanna be close to you.”

niko likes when you sit on his lap when he’s on his computer. you can have your arms wrapped around his neck, your head resting in the crook of his neck, or you could just be on your phone or whatever, it doesn’t matter, niko just likes you near him.

you guys don’t really talk to each other when you do this, aside from niko occasionally checking up on you and asking if you need anything from him.

but other than that, you guys just enjoy each other's touch in silence. it’s one of his favorite things to do with you.

however, if you start kissing him in the middle of whatever he’s doing and keep it up for long enough, niko will drop everything to make out with you right then and there (also one of his favorite things to do with you).

speaking of kissing- you kiss niko first.

niko would try to plan your guys first kiss out because he wants everything to be perfect.

but, he ends up taking forever to execute it because he keeps overthinking and you can only wait so long before kissing him, so you take matters into your own hands.

his kisses are sloppy and juvenile at the beginning, but he’s smart and learns quickly what you do and don’t like.

likes being kissed on his jaw and forehead the most :')

if the team ever happens to see niko kissing you, they're gonna be so annoying 😭

"yooo niko's making big moves ‼️" "my son's growing up on me!😩" "good job *pats on the back*" and niko is red all over as he drags you away from them, muttering about how childish and annoying they are 😭.

but, they're all very supportive of you guys, even if they're embarrassing as hell 🙄.

they even give niko relationship advice- which luckily, he doesn’t follow (most of the time), because, let’s be honest, if you're getting unsolicited dating tips from a bunch of teenage boys, it’s probably bad 😭.

you’re the only person niko shows his forehead to. just know that having the opportunity to see it means that niko trusts you more than anyone else :’)

repay his trust by kissing his forehead lovingly and showering him with compliments whenever you can !!!!!!!!!!

“y/n, why’re you so embarrassing,” niko says under his breath, blushing as you hold his face and litter soft kisses on his forehead, rambling about how cute he is.

always looks for you in the bleachers when he has a game and you’re always the first person he talks to after.

and the fact that you make an effort to come as often as you can means sooo much to him. definitely considers you to be his biggest fan.

real classy with nicknames- uses “my love/love,” and “darling,” the most.

his favorite petname from you is "pretty boy." gives him butterflies each time he hears it.

the first time you call him that, he's confused, but after you explain that being called pretty is basically the highest compliment a boy can receive, he gets all soft on you.

only uses instagram to like and comment on your pictures and that's it 😭.

comments stuff like “you're so pretty” and "beautiful," without any emojis because niko refuses to use them LOL.

remembers the compliments you give him! they help with his self esteem and i feel like he values your opinion a lot.

so, tell him all about how cute and smart and talented and hot and funny he is and how much you love him and he'll replay it in his head 24/7.

i think he prefers to be the big spoon, unless he's sad- then he really wants you to hold him.

niko gives me homebody vibes, so expect relaxed dates, but still nice, yk?

what i mean is niko's not gonna take you out to get gas station food and call it a day 😭 he's classier than that and he always puts in effort towards dates.

he always plans them ahead of time and takes into consideration what he thinks you'd enjoy. and he insists on paying 🤗.

but, niko always does something special for days like your birthday or an anniversary, like go somewhere fancy if you wanted to or buy a nice gift you've been eyeing for a while.

helps you with your schoolwork, 100%. most of the time niko tutors you because he wants you to actually learn the material, but if you're feeling lazy and just wanna get it over with, niko will just give you the answers.

this is a big deal because i love him and all but, niko gives me the vibe he's super stingy with his work 😭.

"this is the last time i'm going to just give you the answers, y/n." niko sighs out. "you have to start doing your homework by yourself."

niko's said that dozen of times but he's still giving you the answers free of charge. can you guys say #whipped 🤣?

"you're so weird, y/n," he says, a blush staining his cheeks. "your eyelashes are nicer," he mumbles as he kisses your forehead.

They really went there huh

/rp (good lord I rly hyperfixated on this essay huh)

torture tw, abuse tw, manipulation tw, gaslighting tw

So the Dream SMP built a character, once maybe morally gray, who slipped straight into villany with little to no desire to change, and willing to cause a LOT of pain to get his way. Despite this, he doesn’t question what he does enough to stop, justifying his actions with a good intent that doesn’t come close to justifying what he’s done.

C!Dream is unremorseful of what he’s done, he’s quite literally manipulated and gaslit (like actually, not in the way everyone keeps throwing the word around) c!Tommy, almost drove him to take his last life- like, jesus christ. That’s not even to mention blowing up L’Manburg three times, encouraging c!Wilbur, wanting the discs JUST to have power over c!Tommy, etc.

SO, he gets thrown in a box for it so he doesn’t hurt anybody anymore, making his own hubris his downfall (narrative consequence my beloved). This leads us to a good finale - the bad guy, the person who’s caused objectively the most pain and destruction, is now unable to do so anymore, taken down by the person whom he tried to weaken. It is also revealed he was planning on blackmailing and threatening pretty much everyone, but now everyone gets their stuff back.

Good, right?

Especially for the finale, yeah! The message of the finale is good, c!Tommy manages to escape his abuser with nothing more but his clothes on his back and fights his way back to c!Tubbo and his home.

He doesn’t let his trauma (which is still very present!) let him become a terrible person (arguably the way that c!Dream DID let his frustrations make him a terrible person, c!Tommy, despite bearing quite a heavy weight, recognizes when he begins to turn that way and actively works against it).

It shows that while alone, c!Tubbo and c!Tommy were outfought by Dream, but because c!Tommy went the length to ask for help (which he didn’t even really seem to be relying on actually showing up), he wins! It truly is a good message.

C!Tommy escapes his abuser and manipulator, refuses and fights his trauma to not become someone he doesn’t want to be, and defeats his abuser by asking for help and receiving it, even more than he thought he’d get. He refuses to play c!Dream’s “game”, refuses till the very last moment to let c!Tubbo die, to surrender and say goodbye to him.

So, great! Good finale! C!Dream The Villain is boxed like a fish in a prison of, quite literally, his own making. It sent a good message to people. C!Tommy wasn’t expected to forgive him and did, in fact, axe him down twice, causing c!Dream to finally fall from his high horse.

Most media would stop at this point, say the villain is now defeated and never show them again, or have them come back another one or two seasons later, escaped and seemingly unharmed and worse than ever.

Alternatively, there’s a throwaway line, (or, in good media, a genuine, reasonable backstory, complete with remorse and bad role models and complicated situations), that allows the villain to be redeemed.

In GOOD redemption arcs (See: Zuko from avatar tbh), the villain was already never quite as heartless, or stressed their good intent, or felt remorse for what they felt they “had to do”. Then, ideally, the villain takes a looooong time adjusting their habits, regretting their actions and changing until they’re considered redeemed.

Not on the Dream SMP, though.

They don’t stop at c!Dream’s defeat.

He doesn’t dissapear off-screen and is never spoken of again. His life continues on, everyone’s does, just like it would in reality. He doesn’t magically want to become a better person, far from it. So no redemption. But he doesn’t dissapear, either.

They go on to, slowly, stress how awful the conditions in Pandora’s Vault are. c!Bad says c!Dream should be imprisoned, but at least at slightly better conditions. We’re in very VERY morally gray territorry here. Nobody says c!Dream is a good person, of course not, but even c!Bad - who knows Dream was planning on keeping c!Skeppy in a cage to control him with - goes, “yeah, he should stay boxed, but does he really need to like... suffer suffer?”

Still, c!Dream seems to be kindof inconsistent in his behavior. Is he faking his pain? Is he not? His actions don’t fully make sense for either take. He acts differently to each person, but at the same time some things he does don’t make sense if he were just fishing for pity.

Then c!Sam admits to trying (and thinking he succeeded) to “break Dream’s will”, to quite literally starving him for weeks.

Okay, so now we’re a step further. C!Dream is now suffering even more, although already boxed and unable to hurt anyone. Pandora’s Vault is one thing, but now c!Sam just seems to be out for revenge and nothing more. Instead of spending his time with c!Tommy, he spends his time pickaxing(?) c!Dream.

C!Sam isn’t an angel, and we should all know that by now. He does what he thinks is right, but he’s deeper than that, all characters on the DSMP are.

He cares deeply for the Badlands, and would always choose them above anybody else. He’s a capitalist. He built the prison because it would benefit the Badlands resource-wise, despite knowing Dream would probably use it on his enemies, and it was no secret that ALL members of L’Manburg, especially c!Tommy, are his enemies. C!Sam, undoubtedly, knew that. He still built it.

Arguably, he didn’t know about c!Dream’s attachment obsession at the time, but the point still stands.

People have already latched onto the untold story happening between c!Dream and c!Sam, and frankly, we barely know enough about it. Does c!Sam torture him regularly? Do they talk? Does c!Dream try to verbally fight back? CAN he fight back? We don’t know! We’ve gotten proof for both, between c!Sam saying that c!Dream is terrifying even in prison and c!Dream going silent to go on strike. We don’t have enough of an idea how bad or how good it truly is.

So the people who prefer to humanize c!Dream and explore morality imagine c!Sam to downright torture him, people that prefer to see c!Dream as nothing but evil due to his actions imagine prison on the DSMP to not be equivalent to real life prison, and thus nowhere near as torturous as people are making it out to be.

Now all that is thrown out the window as c!Quackity quite literally tortures him.

So now the internet is faced with a question that, judging by some of the impulsive reactions *cough cough* celebrating torture *cough*, it didn’t turn out to be ready for.

Tell me.

How far do we go?

C!Dream hurt a LOT of people. He did a lot of things that caused irreparable damage. Now what? Do we torture him forever? Why? Because he deserves it? How do we determine that without comparing one kind of pain to another?

It’s custom and kindof generally respectful not to compare people’s pain too accurately, because different things vary greatly in severity depending on the person that experiences them.

At what point do we say he’s suffered enough without comparing exile to the prison?

And if we DO compare, does that even make the question easier to answer?

And if he’s never suffered enough ever, killing them would be a mercy...

At what point has a person done enough damage that they “deserve” to die? What if someone only did half of the things c!Dream did. But if c!Dream gets infinite punishment, and half of infinity is still infinity, do they ALSO deserve endless suffering?

Do you think every person that did something you can’t emphasize with deserves to suffer for eternity and die?

I’m not saying we SHOULD emphasize with c!Dream. He did things we cannot justify, that NOTHING can justify. He did things that were, by their nature, unjustified.

I’m also not saying anybody should forgive him. I think it’s a GOOD thing that c!Tommy doesn’t want nor is narratively pushed to forgive c!Dream.

But c!Dream doesn’t need c!Tommy’s forgiveness to be... a person.

There’s a saying that I’m sure you know, that goes “I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy.”, because there’s things you wouldn’t want any human being to experience. Not because you like them, not cause you think they’re right, but because they’re human.

And perhaps this is my personal opinion, but I don’t think c!Dream being a bad person justifies dehumanizing him, because then we get into an area where someone needs to meet criteria just to be human.

I met someone once, whom, because of outside circumstances I knew I probably wouldn’t meet again. We’d been getting along just fine for people who just met, and were both getting into an interesting discussion about morality. They kept insisting upon something I kept refuting, so they said they needed to get something off their chest.

They proceeded to tell me that they had, years ago, while a teen, manipulated someone in a relationship, pushed boundaries and tried to convince them to do things they didn’t really want to do to get what they wanted.

They cried, while telling me, too terrified to tell anybody they know, terrified nobody would ever speak to them again, insanely regretful of their actions. They didn’t know whether to go back and apologize or just stay as far away as humanly possible, didn’t know which one the right thing to do is.

It had been years, by then, and I talked them through it. I said that what they did was bad, and there’s no going around that. But I also said what I saw, which is someone who would never do something like that ever again. I saw a human being. Someone who regrets a mistake they did and now, after enough time has passed, would do anything to make it undone.

Someone who is too terrified to be close to anybody in fear that they would do it again. I don’t remember if they already went to therapy or not, but it was definitly on the table, or in the near future.

They asked me how I could possibly even keep talking to them after they told me all that. They implied they felt like some kind of monster despite literally chocking back tears, firmly convinced they don’t deserve to be close to anybody in their life ever again.

I never swerved from the fact that what they did was wrong, and harmful. But I also told them they’re human. The universe isn’t keeping score. They want to be a better person now, and they were never going to learn how if they never let themselves be close to anybody.

I told them to seek therapy, and to slowly, carefully, try. Assured them that the fact that they regret it so strongly will at least help them in not falling back into the same pattern, and if they do, they can learn to recognize that.

They thanked me after the conversation, genuinely, especially for the fact that I didn’t sugarcoat what happened, because I know otherwise it would’ve felt like I was lying, like I was just sparing their feelings. I wasn’t. I was thinking about how to make sure they get to live without hurting anybody.

As per the circumstances, we didn’t speak again after that, which we knew basicly from the very start.

I still think about that conversation a lot.

Do you think they should’ve been locked up for life after it happened, instead?

Do you think this real human being, that I spoke to, that took years to realize their mistake - and never would have realized it if they hadn’t had the time to, if they’d been killed right afterwards - deserves to suffer forever?

Let me tell you something, from someone who’s been in more than one abusive situation: People that hurt you are human.

That doesn’t mean you have to forgive them. That doesn’t mean you have to like them. That doesn’t mean you have to make an effort to understand them. That doesn’t mean you need to go anywhere near them ever again.

You can hate them. You can be angry at them. You can (and should) go as far away from them as possible, and/or defend yourself.

But that doesn’t mean you have to dehumanize them.

You’re allowed to hate and dislike people that are human, because you’re human, especially if they hurt you. That’s how life is.

And to go back to my original point - c!Quackity torturing c!Dream is not something that should be celebrated.

There’s a difference between necessary measures (locking c!Dream up so he doesn’t hurt anyone), and torturing people for fun.

It’s not right. It’s never going to be right, and do not justify literal torture on human beings, and do not make someone lower-than-human to justify torturing them.

Taking revenge on someone for what they did tenfold is romanticized, I know, but I promise you it’s not actually as cool as it sounds.

life is strange true colours review

the non spoilery part: i LOVED this game, my personal fave game this year and the first franchise entry since the original that has really resonated with or moved me.

it's a life is strange game through and through, so if you don't like slice of life episodes or bonding with NPCs, it's not gonna be for you. but if you like the franchise, or even if you liked the first game but haven't been interested in/liked the other two instalments, i recommend giving this one a chance. i think it got closer to figuring out the formula while still doing something new and interesting.

alex

holy shit i love alex? bisexual chad... my darling... i'm gonna be real, a lot of the trailers and promo for this game made me worried she'd be kind of a dull wallflower Soft Girl character, but she's not! she's so funny, and even parts of her characterization i initially thought were maybe a bit of a stretch ended up making sense as i learned more about her. she stole the show. i straight up forgot how much loving the protag helps enjoyment of these kinds of games lmao ... finally a reason to click on everything in the room: to hear what alex will say about it.

i thought her backstory exploration in ep 5 especially was wonderful and emotive and great. broke my heart and explained so much about her :( baby girl

plot/choices

i loved the mystery. i don't think it was quite as Mysterious as the mystery in lis1, but that was okay, i was still invested in solving it. i also got invested enough in the NPCs around the town to make all the exploration bits really fun. i loved eavesdropping on the sagas of the random NPCs like bald man and ice cream couple... just fun little touches and narratives to follow that i enjoyed.

i really appreciated this script not being afraid to shy away from some messier emotions, even if in some cases i wish we spent more time on them. for example: alex feeling a bit jealous of the other people in town that got to know gabe better than her/spend more time with him than she did. or charlotte hating ethan!!! my jaw dropped, i thought that was so good, what a messy but realistic response.

I'm not entirely sure what all the ramifications of different choices are at this point, fresh off my first play. i ended up getting only part of the council to stand with me (eleanor & duckie) while losing pike and charlotte.

i do wish we saw a bit more fallout or exploration of what taking away emotion DOES. i took charlotte's anger, and obviously it meant she didn't stand up for me in the council meeting, but where does she go from there? does she like... ever return to feeling emotions lmao... I also think we probably should've had the opportunity to do that another time, instead of just 2 isolated events -- I think Diane would've been a good candidate.

the romance

i romanced steph, ofc, but i was surprised during the game how drawn i was to ryan too -- i really liked that Drama of him being the one who cut Gabe free, as well as later the drama of him being Jed's son. UNTIL HE DIDN'T BELIEVE ME... that made me mad lmfao, i have to learn what to do to make him believe me before i play a Ryan route bc i'll kill him lmfao.

the steph/alex romance was sweet... it didn't really, like, Consume Me as a ship, but by the end of the game I was still "aww"ing at their moments in the flashforward. steph was more rounded and flawed than i thought she might be, which i really appreciated! i was worried they'd just make her perfect idealized gf, but she has a bit of a temper and is kind of tempestuous and stuff... liked it. loved her standing up for alex so fiercely and immediately at the council meeting <3 and my main reservation about her in ep 4 was that i wanted alex to stay in haven, so when she offered to stay i was thrilled LOL

one semi-complaint i had was that something i loved so much about lis1 was how max and chloe's relationship was central to the entire game and story, it wasn't some extra thing on the side, it WAS the game... whereas here, the romance routes, especially steph's, felt like sidequests. I wish they'd found a way to incorporate those relationships a bit more into the main goings-on. I also wanted to spend more time with either romance option to feel like I knew them better -- splitting the time between Steph and Ryan means that I came away feeling like I didn't get quite as much of either of them as I would've liked, vs spending almost the entire game with Chloe lol.

however, this ended up not really bothering me too much because I DID really like the core mystery and themes, the exploration of grief and Emotion, etc.

other characters

considering everyone knew going into the game that gabe was going to die, i was impressed with how they did it, and how they managed to get me attached to gabe in a mere single episode. it's a tall order to introduce a character designed to die, who your audience KNOWS is going to die, and still make them work.

i thought this supporting cast was ... maybe the strongest in the franchise? or at least, they created scenarios where i felt invested in multiple people in the town, and was genuinely trying to build decent relationships with most of them. duckie cracked me tf up, i liked eleanor and riley, even diane and jeb were good for their roles. (fuck pike. i signed ur stupid thing and left your emotions alone and you still won't do shit? ACAB!!!) the choice to stay in haven or leave was a little harder than i expected honestly, considering how quickly i let arcadia bay burn to the ground lmfao.

gameplay/etc

also i know the whole internet has been dunking on "empathy" as a super power since the game was announced, and i get that it sounds corny and looks corny in the trailers, but i thought how they did it was really cool. i wish they'd branded it "Mindreading" more than empathy tbh because a lot of the cooler elements of it are more along those lines... using her power to manipulate people, potentially taking people's emotions away and what that does to them... very interesting imo!

i really liked the memory feature!!! cool way to give us character exposition and inform the story while encouraging exploration. finally a collectible that like, expands the story, instead of chloe drawing butts on the wall and sean taking 10 years to draw something.

it's definitely the most evolved-feeling LIS game, which it should be, given it's the newest. graphics looked really nice, loved getting to see the characters actually emote, even if there are still some scenes that were a lil comically blank-faced -- usually NPCs. i actually noticed this with Jed the most, which in retrospect maybe was somewhat intentional?

i had a number of visual glitches, nothing major but a little silly, like T-posing Alex, npcs t-posing in the windows, etc. i'm sure they'll get patched out soon.

anyway... i rly liked this game, i'm excited for the steph dlc and finally feel like i have reason to be optimistic about future LIS instalments. hooray!

S2 WISHFUL THINKING

hey hi hello! i haven’t really been active on tumblr but i wanted to get back into the swing of being active and posting often. so.

i decided i will take note of some of my predictions, hopes, wishes etc. for Season 2 of Rainbow High!

so i kinda wanna just cover the things we canonically have seen aka specific events and drama that has gotten introduced

- The New Roommates / Series 3 Girls

i feel like we will definitely see more of them within the coming episodes. rainbow high literally advertised the new teams as like… i think the second or third teaser for the new season

it’s interesting to me because. this makes me think of What The Runway Project is? what could it possibly be? i believe i made a post about this in the past but the main theory (and theory i believe the most in) would be a Stage Production of sorts. i mean… it makes sense!

the twins are both Performing Arts focus and are definitely the antags this season. so why wouldn’t they cause trouble in regard to a stage play? plus, bella is back. she’s literally a set designer! we have never seen her do any set designing (other than making a sketch) so it would be fun to see that! if river were to get more focus this season, he would definitely have an outlet to channel his Performing Arts creativity! plus… Daria is a song writer so like. imagine if we were to get music out of that? please. the possibilities are endless.

im also eager to see the series 3 girls dynamics. like are the rest of the girls (gabriella, georgia, emmy and daphne) all roomed together? do they get along? will they all be just as dramatic as stella, sheryl and daria’s dynamic?

but anyway. whatever the drama and the semester project is, the new teammates definitely seem to be playing a crucial role in this season.

- The Twins

i’m actually really eager to see more of them. i feel like not enough people are talking about them? season 2 is actually really interesting so far…. maybe more so than season 1… and i feel like we are going to have to thank the twins for that at some point lol

like. idek what they’re planning on doing but. i’m excited to see what it is! they’ll probably be involved in the semester project or at least causing problems to all of the roommates and teams. they’ll definitely have something going on with bella. and it seems that they have a good bond with karma (after the KWK we got). so maybe they’ll have input in any potential drama with Karma. which leads me to

- Karma VS. Violet

so. this drama has been teased at for like. ever. for what feels like forever.

this moment in Karma’s bio PLUS the commentary about violet from her and the twins in the recent KWK episode. but anyway. i’m actually super interested in whatever this drama could be??? like. why is karma watching.

we know violet adores karma, she really wants to have her in the vi life. so i’m sure she basically looks up to her! but like. will karma actually genuinely be nice with violet? keep a distance? make remarks like she did in her recent vlog? i don’t know. idk what to expect. of course it’ll have to do with vlogging or something.

- Bella

ok so there is a few things to note with bella. i’m still interested in if bella will accept to do an interview with Karma for her vlog? if so, i wonder how that would go. and i wonder how violet would feel about it. like the very last time bella was featured in vi’s vlog was on a bad note (even though they made up) but like. idk AAA

also i’m wondering how bella is gonna handle being back to rainbow high. because so far it seems she’s having trouble fitting in. will the key to her fitting in be Jade? will Jade help her figure everything out? or would it be someone else?

as much as i’d love Jade to be the reason Bella starts to feel more at home, i also love the other idea of Amaya being the reason bella feels comfortable again. Amaya was once the new girl (and of course in an awkward position because she was essentially a replacement for bella’s spot in the runway group) but. she didn’t fit in. she had to find her place at rainbow high… and it took her until the runway show to be able to truly feel comfortable.

and like. i’ve been rooting for bella/amaya dynamic for awhile now. i see a lot of potential in this duo. we know they somewhat have tension. i mean. bella had a really awkward confrontation with amaya and that was rly their first and last conversation. sure they’ve been around each other like in the music video, at the end of s1, and when bella walked into the girls dorm s2ep2 but like. that’s it.

SO ANYWAY. what i’m trying to get at is that these two definitely need to become friends. i mean. they have a LOT in common. i was talking about the new girl situation because i feel like they can relate in that way. they both had an awkward entrance into rainbow high and could bond over that. it took amaya awhile to feel at home at rainbow high… so maybe she could become friends with bella and help her feel at home! they’re both very determined leader types. they’re really passionate and! they have the same friend group! so why not become friends?

- Jade and Bella

of course i will wonder about these two! i have no clue what to expect with them. the fandom and myself are really really really wanting to see these two become a canon sapphic couple. i really want to see this happen! and mga knows this. mga knows we want to see jella happen. i mean, they literally snatched the ship name from us and plastered it into their vlogs. so they KNOW

anyway. these two are literally going through it rn. the way jade’s eyes lit up when she saw bella was back at rh. and now both of them are looking for each other and worried about each other. jade thinking bella is mad at her rn? please. i will sob. they are really holding off this jella reunion but i hope it’s for a good reason. i just want them to talk and have a good reunion… a hug……. happy tears, happy smiles…………..a love confession…

- Amaya

so i don’t really have much to say here but i’m just wondering about amaya this season. she’s definitely been advertised so much to the point that she essentially became like. THE main focus in season 1. this peeved some people but personally i loved amaya being like a sort of main character figure. she didn’t really take attention away from the other characters but also had that energy of being a main character anyway.

my point is, though, idk how she will play out in this season? like is she going to be as much of a main character as the main 6 are…. or will she play a bigger role? i have no clue. it seems bella is going to have a key focus this season, which makes sense, but it still just makes me wonder about amaya’s role this season

- Colin

i just hope this man does not get a development arc. i know some people want him to…. but i just. i don’t. i don’t understand. the point of him existing was to show that cheating is wrong and to display girl power. by teaching that skyler didn’t need a man to prove her worth. that she is her own person. her own strength! i really hope that colin and bella don’t have anything omfg.

- Winter Break

i’m really. REALLY excited for the winter break arc. it’s about time we get to see some backgrounds outside of rainbow high! plus the animated tidbits of ruby, sky, and violet in their wb outfits in the wb commercial was everything.

i’m so excited to see their new hairstyles, to see them with their snow gear and more. omg. of course i think the twins will be involved in this arc someone. krystal briefly mentioned the twins’ family having a ski lodge. and then of course we see sunny with her skis so like. yea!! i just wonder how these episodes would play out. or episode. but anyway like… will they just vibe? or will there be a problem of sorts? if it’s winter break then it probably won’t tie into school or like projects or anything like that

- Kia Hart

i’m actually hoping kia gets some focus this season. like. what is she going to do? is she going to pair another couple together? (if so, please be jella. okay wait seriously what if she is the key to reuniting jade and bella together… anyway) i just hope to see more of her and possibly more of her and krystal together haha. but kia just vibes so far, it would be lovely to get more of her!

- The A’s

so ainsley is finally beginning to get some attention! i really hope we continue to get more of her as well as avery, and aidan of course! we did get a bunch of content of aidan but you can never have enough honestly.

but i just wonder about how the A’s will be this season. like will they do anything significant? are bella and avery going to remain close? what is going on!!!

- The Malibu Line

we have known about this for a little while (with the theory of the baby blue girl being in it) but i’m just curious as to who the characters are and if they will be in the web series at all.

okay so. this is a big one. jett being a collector doll, i feel like she’ll definitely play a crucial role in the series. so like. who will she be to the main characters? it says she’s generally nice. why was she giving that look to the girls after their runway performance? IDK! i have no clue what to expect with her. i feel like the expectations i had for amaya (before we knew anything about her) will be put into jett because. the vibes i got from amaya ever since we just had her doll… i am also kind of getting from jett. so i’m eager!

Hi again!! I finished exit strategy and as murderbot would say this is Too Many emotions!!! Ahhh I ABSOLUTELY agree with what you say about the story highlighting the importance of mb’s agency, that was so clear with the ending of this book. Like the contrast to the end of all systems red when it was facing the possibility of ending up as a ‘pet robot,’ while at the end of exit strategy it was given the choice to live how it wishes, on its own terms as you mentioned. I was so happy the book ended like that, also with the preservation team coming to understand this!! It’s so good!!

Also a random small detail I loved was mb being excited at the possibility of having a documentary on the entertainment feed at the end!! Also also the whole buildup during the book towards mb meeting the preservation team again, it was so well written I felt so nervous and their reunion just gave me even more Feelings!!

I also love art and its relationship with mb so much too!!! I rly hope it comes back somehow in the next 2 books! And I’m extra excited for the novel now!! Thanks so much for the tips, I’ll get started on fugitive telemetry next! Hope u have a great day!! :DDDD

YEAAAAH i really love that the books didnt just have "presaux bought mb's contract up and it was happily ever after" but instead showed that while presaux did what they thought was right, it was still something that mb had no say in. instead mb got to go off by itself and exist on its own terms and come back of its own volition and presaux respected that and they came to a better understanding :D it really is so good like WHO else is doing it like the mb books!!

YES i love how genuinely excited mb is about its media and how emphatic the series is about how media shapes us and our perceptions and how we view things (have you noticed all the times mb mentions how secunits are portrayed in media - terrifying, etc - and how it uses those words to refer to itself?) so it's really nice that mb gets to have that level of agency and control about its own portrayal this time around, as well as being able to Talk to someone about its experiences. and yeah MAN mb meeting the presaux team again :') i love. them

I WILL NOT SPOIL THE NEXT BOOKS but yes i adore art it would be a shame if it never showed up again ;))) i wonder if it will ever make another appearance ;))))

also, it totally slipped my mind, there's a short story that takes place after exit strategy!! it was posted free on tor.com (the publisher), and it's from mensah's point of view. i really love it a lot

Am currently listening to my dance vibes playlist and thinking about that time Mike suggested a footloose marathon (the fact that he didn't get to perform footloose is just tragic smh 😔)... I haven't seen the original but I saw the more recent one a few years ago and Fake ID by big & rich is such a bop.... I guess it counts as country so sam and potentially finn (bc of his vocals in red solo cup lmao) are my obvious choices to sing it but id want Mike n britt as lead dancers.... idk it would be fun to have the whole glee club dancing n goofing around n just overall having fun

Finn is by far the most physically affectionate! He gives great hugs that both Kurt and Santana love, and also developed a habit of kissing Santana's cheeks 🥰 and despite Santana not being a huge fan of physical affection from people, finn one of her few exceptions. Also casual displays of affection!! Like slinging his arm over their shoulders, clapping their backs, etc, he does it all

Kurt loves gifts! He always buys these little trinkets that remind him of finntana and is generally great at picking out stuff for them.. and sometimes he'll hide lil handmade presents for them in random places so that they get cute surprises throughout the day... (finn and santana always buy each other gag gifts n dumb stuff for shits n giggles but when it comes to getting stuff for Kurt they both put in a lot more effort. It doesn't always work out, especially at first, but he knows they're trying and that's all that really matters to him)

Santana's the clumsiest at showing love unless they're not paying attention hdjsjfjs she's so used to throwing playful jabs at finn and she did spend a few years putting Kurt through a lot of shit so it takes a while for her to be upfront about showing genuine love to him... but eventually it starts by coming out in the form of compliments sandwiched between insults until she finally allows herself to put down that harsh persona and give both boys the sweetest compliments when they need it the most. Most of the time she sticks to affectionate insults tho lmao. She's 100% that person who goes "Finn and Kurt are my brothers and I will kick your ass if you say anything bad about them" but once they walk into the room she'll turn around and call them both dumb shits bc she's the only one who's allowed to insult them 😔💞

matt loves singing so he secretly rly wanted to join the glee club (wish we actually got to hear him sing </3) & he was kinda nervous to bring up the idea but as soon as he told mike, mike was also ready to join with him!!! even though he wasn’t much of a singer himself he was happy to do it for matt, plus he felt like it’d be a lot of fun n he’d get an opportunity to dance :)

matt’s favorite thing in the world is watching mike dance, there’s nothing he’d rather do. sometimes they’d stay after school and just hang out in the ballet room and matt would just happily watch mike practice, n sometimes matt couldn’t help but join him n they’d just dance together :)

i think mike is rly close with his mom, and one thing they love to do is cook dinner together :) she was happy to let matt join in when he was over the house, and to this day he tries to find takeout as good as what he made w/ mike but to no avail...

matt is an artist!!! he was shy about it but he made a few pieces to give to mike as gifts, which mike adored. after he moves away, matt still looks at his paintings sometimes and realizes they’re about mike...

your recent art piece reminded me a lot of this thought i had for them - but basically at some point soon after they reconnect, they obviously have a lot to talk over (they’re prioritizing communication this time around!) so they go out to some emtpyish diner early in the morning and spend hours there just catching up and falling back into each other again, realizing that they are both very much still in love <3

in terms of music that makes me think of them... basically all of heartbreak weather by niall horan!! but if u wanted to listen to any specific songs, everywhere, arms of a stranger, & still are very rutherchang to me 🥺

7. Piercings or Tattoos?

Arthur

Piercings, 100% I believe Arthur would be a piercings guy. He'd get his tongue pierced in a modern au to get back at Uther for being a dick. I stand by that belief.

But he wouldn't be opposed to getting a tattoo, and probably would after some tempting from Merlin

Merlin

Contrary to Arthur—I see Merlin as tattoos. He would have all sorts of tattoos, especially magical ones. I like to think he'd get a large dragon tattoo across his back (bc he fucking loves dragons), and Arthur would melt when he saw it. I just love the idea of Merlin with tons of tattoos, especially magical tattoos.

Though, as payment for tempting Arthur into a tattoo, Merlin would totally get a piercing, but nothing too obtrusive or noticeable. Probably just another ear piercing (bc he totally has them pierced), maybe an upper ear piercing that I can't think of the name of right now.

10. Physical or Verbal Affection?

Ahaha this is the fun one, I've thought so much about.

Arthur

The answer I have for Arthur is 100% dependent on whether he's giving the affection or receiving it.

Giving: Physical. Arthur is so much better at showing how he feels than putting it into words, due to his upbringing with Uther. So, he shows his affection through touch. It's how he knows how. He struggles to be verbally affectionate, never quite able to say what he means, although he still tries. He speaks sweet words and compliments and names, but he never can quite find the right ones to express how deeply he feels, because his love is so great it's overwhelming, and it's a feeling he's so unused to. So, he shows his affection through actions, and though touch, no matter how small or large, hoping that the receiving end will understand the silent declarations he's trying to get across.

Recieving: Verbal. Now, I have my reason for this, because yes I hc that Arthur is incredibly touch starved and would speak the love language of physical affection for both giving and receiving, but hear me out here. Arthur didn't grow up with much praise and verbal expressions of affection from his father. He grew up with commands, with 'you could do betters', with expectations for him held so high that he could hardly reach them enough to get a polite 'good job.' Noimnotprojectinglisten. So, when he grows up, and someone genuinely praises him for the first time, not because he's prince or because it's polite even if it's not meant, but because they genuinely thought he deserved the praise, his heart stutters, and his face flushes, and he does NOT stammer because a Prince does not stammer! But he remembers it, and he remembers how good it felt, and he craves it again, he craves more, because it made him feel proud of himself. So when Merlin stumbles into his life, insulting and praising him in the same sentence on an almost daily basis, his heart feels it may explode because it just feels so nice to be told that he's going to be a great king, that he's making someone proud, that he's someone's best friend, that he's loved. It feels so good to be told he's loved.

Merlin

Physical. Growing up with his mother in Ealdor, Merlin was exposed to so many tender touches and loving embraces, forehead kisses and hands held tight. It became the easiest and best way for him to express how much someone meant to him–one touch could say a thousand things that no words ever could. Words would fade, but the loving touch of another would always linger on your skin. So, moving from Ealdor where he was used to daily hugs and head kisses and shoulder pats from his mother and playful fights and more hugs and affectionate hits from Will, to Camelot where everyone was so...impersonal, and no one touched anyone like they did back home... It was a huge change. He had to adapt. The biggest way he showed his affection and care, was something he couldn't do without fear of upsetting someone or breaking some etiquette code. There was Arthur, though, who he snuck in touches to as he readied him for the day, night, battle, training, etc. He let his hands linger a moment to long, brushed his hair out of his face, purposefully antagonized him just for the playful bump in the shoulder or wack on the head. And then there were the knights, who gradually Merlin became more and more Physical with until it was common to see him cuffing Gwaine upside the head, leaning against Percival for a nap while he shirked his duties, hugging Lance in greeting and goodbye, slinging his arm around Elyan's shoulder while he told him a story of his earlier days with Arthur, and even holding Leon's hand on occasion when he was feeling a bit more anxious than usual or just knew something would go wrong but Arthur wouldn't listen. Arthur was the one he was the most Physical with, always touching him in some way or another, even absentmindedly placing kisses on his forehead that no one dared point out for fear of the King's wrath if Merlin stopped out of embarrassment.

Merlin is an incredibly physically affectionate person.

Yeah, I saw that, and I understand feeling sad. In a very realistic sense, it is probably in Lucy and everyone else’s best interest to believe that the show won’t get picked up. Because then we’re all spared the agony of waiting to hear something... if we accept that the show is completely done, then we can process it and move on, ya know?

BUT.

I will just say, too, that if fans drop all the energy they’ve spent on trying to get the show renewed now... well, then it really won’t get picked up. Another steaming service or network would only revive a show that had a dedicated audience (otherwise, what’s the point?). This isn’t me trying guilt anyone into anything, btw - this is just me explaining... that will be the reality. So if you’re ready to say goodbye, then do what you have to do for you, do what you have to be happy! But if you’re asking me how it could still work... it’s honestly up to us.

People being in different contracts doesn’t have to mean the show is gone. The majority of the main recurring cast has expressed that they would like to film another season or film for CAOS. Contracts can be worked around, filming schedules can be tweaked. Abbey was only in one episode this past season, but she did almost two weeks of filming it while also starring in Fate: The Winx Saga. Plenty of actors have one or more projects they’re working on at a time.

AND... in addition to what I previously said about the timeframe for a show to be picked up (it took Lucifer and One Day at a Time both 3-4 months to have their renewals announced after their shows’ last episodes on their og networks)... the first sweeps of 2021 just ended on the last day of February. In February, it was reported that Sabrina had the third highest amount of streaming hours for a show between Hulu, Disney+, Netflix, and Amazon Video.

We’re five days into March where tv execs are gathering all this data to decide what they want to invest in. Based on 961 million hours of viewership, CAOS is a pretty reliable investment.

So... in summary, anon - if you need to believe it’s really over for good in order to move on, then believe it. Not saying that sarcastically or dismissively etc... genuinely, take care of yourself. But is there still a chance? Yeah imo, there is.

hey i had a few comments about your post about ableism in the radfem community but i’m crypto so i can’t rly interact except like this. i hope that’s okay.

first, i am an asexual radfem, so i’m definitely pro ace and aro ppl, but i don’t support the SAM* because linguistically, it doesn’t make sense. the ‘sex’ in homo/herero/bisexual is for the sex of people you are attracted to, whereas the ‘sex’ in asexual refers to sexual attraction. *the SAM as it is currently promoted/understood* so like i’m asexual and homosexual. i think that the only “”hyphen romantic term that is useful is aromantic, because otherwise you can use homo/herero/bisexual.

second, i didn’t realize that delusional was a mental illness specific term, so ill be more careful with that. i do think that sometimes radfems say the things you were talking about b/c we genuinely are trying to describe what we see? like i’m self dx autistic and pro dx adhd, and i have other mental illnesses too. i’m also a detransitioner. so i think i tend to view most of the statements as literal and legitimate concerns/criticisms instead of ableism. maybe that’s on me for not reading it in the right tone but would you mind explaining more of how what you mentioned was ableist (if u have the time/energy)? like the blue hair thing? i get why the traits are linked but i have seen soo many nd and anxious and mentally ill minors id as trans so i thought it was showing how many of them are so brazen online but really they’re being manipulated and they’re scared to disagree if that makes sense.

third, i’m glad to see that more and more radfems are hitting back against the ableism in the community, esp as a multiple disabled woman. i hope you are finding good ppl to interact with! <3

[Re:First] Ok I haven’t got you right at first about the terminology part, but now I get it; however, I’ve always seen it used as in “sexual attraction”.... w romance attached. Though, it might be because in Russian we use the anglicism “секс” to describe sex process, and only call the biological sex our own word for it. But I don’t think I’ve seen how you see it in English-lang places either?

I have always seen it used in kind of a dual meaning — the sex of people you are sexually attracted to. Now I realize that hey, there’s only one “sex” in the word, hey...

In regards to the model itself, I, to be honest, have always understood sexual and romantic attraction as two separate things, and only realized that in many people they can be connected in various ways when I was having a conversation with my (now former, but it isn’t related to this)friend about all that stuff around my post.

Legitimate criticism can be quite often laced with stuff like ableism, misogyny, etc. And stuff like “delusional” really gets thrown around as an insult, or a borderline insult.

The blue hair thing is not related to ableism (tho people can be ableist in addition when talking about it), it’s just general jerkassery, like people must have the Right personality, something like that.

And rudefems really don’t care about them being manipulated and scared to disagree. They might even think that they actually care, but they always only make things worse. And when they talk about the cringy blue-haired they/thems they do just that, nothing deeper, they are just insulting.

The direct quote about the “blue-haired theythems” is actually a funny story, I was looking through Buck Angel’s (a fiftysomething or so gender critical trans man about whom I have eventually ended up VERY beefy) Twitter acc and there was a reply where a woman was thanking him and said that she used to be “transphobic, an actual terf” but thanks to people like Buck saw that not all trans people are like “blue-haired theythems” from her college and I was like GIIIIIIIRL. 1) if you say that you used to be a “transphobic terf” you weren’t a radfem 2) the “blue-haired theythems” deserve respect too???? ???

I don’t even remember what is it’s url or have I reblogged it :( I only remember that Melanie (revulvabullets69) did (btw, she is one of my absolute favorite people on radblr, even tho we don’t always agree word to word).
