Danny is stuck in timey shenanigans in the Ghost Zone where he is gone for so long he kinda sorta forgot how to be human.

Batman observes this boy who moved as if he was trying to imitate human anatomy the best he could but his limbs moved just a tad too much out of socket and his movements were jerky and unnatural.

The boy was evidently scared. He may be a threat and lash out but be still is a frightened child.

Danny watches as the man of darkness and shadow slowly crouches down and very gently offers his hand out to Danny. His entire body language is carefully crafted and displays “calm. trust. compassion.”. The man slowly and calmly says words to him in a deep baritone but Danny has long forgotten English.

Danny very slowly uncurls himself from the too long limbed ball he wrapped himself in and very slowly grabbed the masked man’s hand.

Batman froze as the ghost boy touched his hand. the sensation of plain wrongness flooded him and the strange boy’s eyes started to glow even brighter. He could hear the other League members cry out and ask him if he’s alright as he suddenly is bombarded with a wave of emotions and memories.

Batman barley manages to stop himself from stumbling back from the intense wave of fear and confusion and hope from this boy. He promises himself that he will do anything In his power to keep this kid safe.

I know we needed the Empty to have beef with Cas so one of the trio had another awful deal shoved on them and so he could die dramatically for Dean the following season but can you imagine if it went the other way around?

Like, the Empty just wants to sleep and Cas is annoying and noisy, why would it want him there? What if instead he just got fucking banned from angel afterlife?

Imagine the Empty coming for Jack in heaven and Cas tries to fight it and the Empty is just like "fuck! the annoying guy is here, pretend you didn't see me, gotta flee before he starts talking to me" and they get Jack back genuinely for free

Imagine Billie getting into that room where this time Dean and Cas have no plan more than going down fighting and she goes for Cas and after mortally wounding him she snaps him away to the Empty like she did that one time with Jack, so there's no body and she turns to Dean who is trying to grapple with his shock and grief while also wanting to kill her for this but then they hear something colliding with the shelves and Billie turns around and Cas is there again, alive and looking like he just got thrown very hard so she's like "this is impossible, how did you do it?" and Cas just blinks, bewildered at what just happened to him "it seems I am too annoying and have been banned from dying"

So Cas just keeps shielding Dean from every attack and the Empty gets increasingly annoyed until it's throwing Cas straight against Billie so she will just stop sending him and... she dies, eventually, because Cas is literally too annoying to die

"You know," Thomas starts, putting the flowers down on the sand as he rolls his sleeves up. "How you yelled at me, back in the Glade, because I wasn't helping out?"

A breeze ruffles his hair, longer than it was a year ago, and the tang of salt doesn't register anymore. "I know, I know. You technically didn't yell. To be fair, I was new, and it's not like I had someone showing me the ropes."

He kneels on the ground, in front of where the tombstone stood. This wasn't the boulder that Vince had set up in the beginning of Safe Haven's existence--this was smaller, flatter, bordering on where the sand meets the dirt. "Now, I feel like all I'm doing with these kids is showing the ropes."

Busying himself with rearranging the flowers, he rubs his thumb on a golden petal idly. "They're doing fine. Between me and the others, things are getting done. Maybe not as efficiently if you were here, but we're trying." He pauses. "I'm trying."

Thomas' voice doesn't shake, not anymore. How can it? It's just him and Newt. His voice never shakes with Newt.

Waves crash somewhere behind him. A bird chirps, its tune lively and bright. The world continues to spin, and it's a long moment before he speaks again.

"I'm throwing myself into work, Newt." His gaze tilts skywards. "I'm working, aren't I? I build homes, I teach, I train the others. There's food, so much of it, enough for years and for anyone who wants to start a family. Last night, I woke up because people were laughing so loud near my bed--laughing. I couldn't even get mad."

Careful not to mess up the floral arrangement, Thomas leans forward slowly until his forehead is pressed right up against the slab, stone cool to the touch. "How busy?" he wonders. "How busy do I need to be until this gets better? How much more do I need to do before it starts to get better? How much more do I need to give?"

When he doesn't get an answer, Thomas lets his eyes slip close. "I'm busy, Newt. I'm busy, and I'm trying, and I'm so fucking sad."

Eventually, Thomas raises his head. He presses his lips to the top of the tombstone, smiling wryly to himself. "At least I can actually reach the top of your head like this, right?"

He gets on his feet, brushing the sand off of his pants, feeling the sun beat relentlessly down on his skin. "Tomorrow, then. Maybe it'll get better tomorrow."

Hiii! Welcome back!!! After reading your recent post, i had a thought about what if the isekai'd Overseer was founded wandering around Fontaine when the Traveler had yet to reach said nation. Do Focalors still trying to arrest and judge the Overseer, or do they belong to the category of the divine that she knows not to make an enemy of?

Oh, I like this one. I'n usually afraid of writing characters before I have read all their lore (not me struggling with the locked voicelines for Neuvillette oof), but I think that Furina has provided the answer already - she is very much ready to put the Overseer on trial, and to make a big show out of it too. Why? Because of what happens with the Traveler, of course!

When the Traveler arrives in Fontaine, they are already known far and wide - Furina herself recognizes them and comes to "greet" them personally, albeit in her own way. I'd say that SAGAU Furina definitely knows that the Traveller is the First Vessel. There is no way she doesn't, either by means of being an Archon, or simply by word of mouth or the Steambird, in the same way she'd heard other things about the Traveler.

And what does she do as soon as we step foot in Fontaine?

Yep. An isekai'd Overseer would very much need to get their Phoenix Wright impersonation ready. I do believe she doesn't have ill intent, or that she actually wants to sentence the Overseer - it's more of a mixture of "hey, look at me!" and "I'm acknowledging your importance by coming here personally and making a fuss". One should feel honored, really. Furina likes entertainment, and I do believe that her theatrical worldview and the outlook of a lot of Overseers out there (guilty as charged) are rather similar - for us as players, the world of Teyvat really is a stage where a story plays out - better yet, it's a story wherein we can control the main character to make the story go further and interact with the characters! Of course, the difference lies in the fact that for an Overseer, the world of Teyvat really is just a game... while for Furina it's still her reality, no matter how many theatrical elements she adds to it.

As for whether she'd recognize the Overseer as a divine being she shouldn't make an enemy of... depends entirely on the way the Overseer interacts with her. We've seen her mask slip when the Traveler accepts her challenge ("Fighting gods? I've got a resume"). We've seen her take a step back in other occasions, too. But it all depends on whether the Overseer chooses to indulge her. The more drama-loving you are, the more you indulge in the theatrics, the further she'll go! After all, she's just found a kindred spirit. She's very excited if you play along! But if you're a no-nonsense Overseer with no time for her antics... she might just call in Neuvillette to accompany her the next time she needs to speak with you. Or she'll avoid the meeting altogether - forgive her, she's nervous.
