He saw you,at first he thought you're staring at him in contempt or anger maybe both but then you sigh lovingly and waved at him a fools smile placed upon your face
• he had to look around and points at himself just to made sure he even mouthed "m-me? you're talking to me?!" But you blowing him a kiss and winking made it pretty clear it was him,well let's say after that he couldn't help but think about you "what an odd human" he thought

One of the villagers said,you aren't paying attention but just hearing him coming back more and more made your heart flutter "I know it's a blessing" you sighed melting into the seat as you remembered the first time he talks to you
•well it happened,khum stood Infront of you folding his hand,what is his plans anyway?kidnapping a human all of a sudden,a weird one at that,"human,do you have a name?" He said
• "you can call me yours,and I'll call you mine" you said "how about the name....treasure?no too basic maybe clove?nah um.....oh darling?" he said tilting his head,khum never thought one day he'd witness a human visibly explode and faint but here we was
• it was a rocky start to the relationship,well...rocky as in everything was so perfect it's scary, here's the recap,on day five of your kidnappings you've opened up to how the villagers had been treating you(not that it's hard to make you open up,all he had to do was give you food and call you pet names while stroking your head and bam! you're dumping your entire trauma onto him) and oh boy was he not happy
• now despite everything he's still a classy dragon,he ofcourse had hoarse of treasure but he also had a pretty nice castle he may or may not seize from a royal you don't have to know that tho so moving on,and with a huge castle come servants and with those come soldiers who needs to maintain security,not that he needs any but you know he likes to have thing's completed and that including the castles needs
• now when his subordinates first saw you absolutely gushing on how cute he was they were absolutely shocked,because one he literally look like a demon ripping out people's heart and two this isn't some flower field it's a grusome battle scene yet you couldn't help but blush when his shirt got torn off,you even closed your eyes to savor the moment after a while
• khum really can't understand your fixation on him,is it like his love for you?but even then he acknowledges your weird behaviour but you literally looked at him as if he was a god,not that he minds,he gotta admit that day he kinda wore a shirt that's a couple of size down so when he does some movements that needs intents flexibility his shirt would rip off in some cool cinematic style,it worked,it worked too well
• so apparently his stamina had their limits he'd come to know it last Night after the battle,oh but the details won't be necessary,oh but don't be fooled if he were to actually try you'd be the one to pass out
• now is he dilusional?nope he knows full well that it's not healthy but does he care?nope he's a powerful dragon,are you dilusional?maybe?...idk...probably....yes?.... Well he is cute so I'll give you that
• he is possesive, but it's really hard to show possesive when the person he loved won't look at other people,you will talk to people normally but once he entered your line of sight the other people can forget ever having a conversation with you
• now for the big question does this technically make you a yandere? maybe..yes.
•i feel the need to say he is 100% taller than you, I'm sorry but it's just the rules 乁( •_• )ㄏ

• he had a way of marking you so other beasts knows to back the fuck off it's called biting,the first night you ever discover the chamber of secrets together(wink wink nudge nudge)he bit down on your neck,it leaves a pretty little flower mark that's imbued with his power it's very very very tiny teeny I cannot stress enough how tiny it is so it's safe
• now if you EVER even say someone else is cute then oh boi oh my,now I have established that he is jealous have I?,no?well too bad because he is,and his jealousy doesn't play nice,he will rip out the heart and torture the person over and over and over each time reviving them again and again and put a curse of Resurrection on them only to leave them in a forest of ravaging beasts that has lost their minds to be feasted upon and tortured until he sees them having suffered enough. ಠ︵ಠ Moral of the story? don't just don't say anyone is cute (yes not even babies) (he won't like k.o them but he will like curse them or sum sht )

Merc Cooking Scale
Soldier 0/10
Everything he makes is poison. Or radioactive. Or stone. Or some combination.
That is, if there’s even anything left of anything after he’s done
Many, many, many, wild explosions have happened. Stuff that’d make Demo amazed.
He is banned from the kitchen.
Sniper 2/10
This man lives off instant meals.
He’s just the kind of guy who learned how to make what he likes and has stuck to that.
Not only that, but he would absolutely suck if he tried anything else. He’s not interested in learning, either.
He will eat plain wild game to survive if need be. He's got such bland tastes you can't convince me otherwise.
He does not like trying new food.
Medic 3/10
I don't trust him.
Pyro 4/10
They’re actually a pretty okay cook when they can focus! They enjoy helping around the kitchen.
Usually, they enjoy finger food that doesn’t require a lot of prep. They make those faces/pictures out of platters.
They are an excellent sweets maker. But when working with complex savory stuff things get much harder for them.
And when the stove is involved... well...
Somehow, though, their damage has never been bad as Solly’s.
Engineer 5/10
Man can cook a solid meal. He doesn’t, usually, but he enjoys it when he does.
His cooking is always super greasy.
His meals are also pretty limited. Really only knows how to make meat-based stuff like bacon, BBQ, eggs, chili, and roasts.
He’ll try his best if you can't/won’t eat meat but it's not the best.
His breakfasts are so good though.
Heavy 6/10
He’s actually a very decent chef but is brought down by the limited resources he had growing up
He’s had to find pretty much every way to cook a bear there is. His family and him are tired of bear meat but to fresh mouths it’s delicious!
He’s slowly learning how to include more variety in his cooking. Sandwiches were an easy introduction and are now his favorite food.
Cooking has become a hobby of his but he’s limited by his own pallet.
His cold meals (meals that don’t involve stove/oven/crockpot/etc., not literally cold food) are very good!
Spy (7/10)
He knows how, of course. He can make plenty of gourmet meals if need be like any respectable gentleman.
The problem is he hates actual doing it.
He can make a bunch if specific fancy meals very very well. They are delicious. They are beautiful. They are perfect.
But he can only make those things. He’s got absolutely zero creativity in the kitchen and could not tell you the basics of cooking.
He can follow a recipe but won’t bother to learn why you take the steps you take in it.
Demo (9/10)
He’s actually got a very similar story to Heavy but without the lack of resources.
He’s a mixologist. He’s a chef. He’s Husband Material.
After he went to live with his parents again, cooking became favorite chore.
As they got older, it also became an obligation. One he fulfilled with love and service.
He loves cooking for other people. He won’t ever really do it for himself. He likes sharing his meals much more than eating/preparing them.
It’s the social aspect for him.
Scout 10/10
Scout? How’s Scout so high up? It feels like he shouldn’t know how to do more than make toast, right?
WRONG.
His oldest brother is the best god damn cook in all of Boston. You bet your ass he spent his childhood eagerly observing him and their Ma.
From the time he was old enough to grip a spoon was eager to help out and prove himself.
He’s an excellent chef—and a resourceful one. He can make a gourmet meal out of five bucks.
Everyone is absolutely SHOCKED the first time he cooked for them. Spy accused him of ordering it from a restaurant to fool them but he was too genuinely knowledgeable/passionate about it.
His chicken meals are exquisite.

Life beyond OL - Xmas movies and a short Bucharest tour
About three weeks ago, What Else Anon prompted me to tell her what else I was reading, watching or interested in lately (https://www.tumblr.com/sgiandubh/734634576675274752/so-about-tcnd-no-im-kidding-dont-throw-me). That gave me an idea for a poll:
Should I turn this ask into a Life Beyond OL weekly, preferably on Tuesdays?
97,1% of the 35 brave people to answer said yes, so here we are.
Reading won't do it this hectic week: since Friday is my last day on the job before the holidays, I'm literally in a wrap-up frenzy, both at home and at the office. Let's say I am not exactly the type who buys her presents in July, which pretty much explains the circus.
As for watching, well: nope, I will not watch A Princess for Christmas if you'd pay me. It's both beyond and beneath my dignity, I am afraid and bless The Boy, but that is not enough for an incentive. By the same token, I shall not willingly acknowledge in public (at the blessed age of 45) that I know all the damn lines of Home Alone 1 by heart. With age, my absolute go-to Xmas movie has to be Love Actually. If only for this perfect opening scene with 0 cheesiness in it - you watch it and you are immediately hooked:
Interested in: going home for Christmas, what else? And before local exasperation hits hard (roughly two days after arrival, to be honest), I am still procrastinating on YouTube and watching those foot-in-mouth travel vlogs ('John and Jane Doe do ...'). In a sea of meh, you might find something interesting enough: I have no idea who Sammy & Tommy are, but they are smart people and they surely know a thing or two about travel. Once in Bucharest, my hometown, they followed their instinct and engaged with the natives - always the best plan.
Let's say it was worth it and probably went above and beyond their expectations: we tend to be obnoxiously hospitable. And I found the bakery people flawlessly endearing. I can confidently say it was something absolutely spontaneous and something I would do myself anytime for a total stranger:

A bit of context: the Cișmigiu Gardens look way better than the last time I ventured in there. It is probably one of the most beloved parks of the city, a stone throw away from the Old Town, and also a wannabe copycat of Munich's Englischer Garten.
The featured bakery & cake shop are actually quite decent, serving traditional pastries from Transylvania (the West of the country) and some of the local dessert mishmash fare. Despite what the very nice bakery guy is telling Sammy and Tommy, neither savarina, nor amandina are 'traditional ' Romanian cakes. Savarina is simply the Polish/French rum baba, Stohrer invented for Stanisław I Leszczyński, the exiled Polish king who was also Louis XV's father in law. As for the other one, let's say it could be the love child of a Sachertorte and a Rigó Jancsi cake - totally Austro-Hungarian (Wikipedia babbles: it has nothing to do with French cuisine!)! Both sickeningly sweet and both personal favorites, amen. The first one they tried, cozonac, is a babka spinoff: something I hate with a passion, but also something that is going to be literally every(fucking)where this Christmas ('oh, you don't like my cozonac?! huh, nonono, I do, it's so fabulous I am taking my time!').
Honestly? This is a place that suffered a lot, especially during the Eighties, when Ceaușescu thought it would be a great idea to bulldoze about 60% of the old neighborhoods, after the horrific 1977 earthquake (perfect pretext). Words could never decently describe the shock, the drama and the abuse: people throwing themselves under the first passing car as their beloved houses were torn down, people displaced in the middle of nowhere, a human chain of people holding hands in a failed attempt to stop the demolition of a beloved church. All that quiet, endearing charm suddenly replaced by a Pyongyang transplant smack in the middle of town. This explaining perhaps why Bucharest is not the best/most touted tourist destination in my country. Tourists usually choose Transylvania (absolutely deserved) or, if they really want to be adventurous, Bucovina (or Țara de Sus, literally: The Highlands, hehe) - an off the beaten track gem and a very special place to me (half of my family hails from there). Impressed to see these guys hit Timișoara - one of the most beautiful, interesting and definitely underrated cities, right next to the border with both Hungary and Serbia.
Nice guys or not, I would never take you to that bakery, though. Nah: I'd take you round the corner, at the Athénée Palace's English Bar - the red arrow marks my very own spot since, heh, forever? And we'd have the Amalfi Old Fashioned cocktails: they are mandatory, here.
PS: the Romanian guy kept his word and took them places the next day. I'd happily babble about this next week, though - from home. :)

Let’s be honest. This is not a ship you get into because it’s cute, or because you hope for a happy ending. And I’m not exactly known for my appreciation of Toxic Yet Fascinating Dynamics ™.
THAT BEING SAID — they are a great plot device. Just like I don’t enjoy whatever Gabeminath had going on, but recognise how it pushed the story forward. So I am likely to write Chlolila in the future (When? Who fucking knows. Certainly not me), as part of a bigger project, purely because the narrative potential is through the roof.
2. What are your favorite things about the ship?

3. Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?
Despite everything I stated above — I can totally see how they could have been written as an evil, yet healthy duo. More on that here.

1. What made you ship it?
This iconic exchange from the Diamonds’ Dance, which I stumbled upon with exactly zero (0) context a little over a year ago.
Listen. I was so prepared to be annoyed. I, too, was an aro Felix truther. I, like many others, was a Marigami enjoyer before anything else.
ALL OF THAT GOT THROWN OUT THE WINDOW SO FAST WHEN I SAW THESE 20 SECONDS OF INTERACTION.
Everything is there already!!! The instant recognition of someone who has been messed up by life in the same way you were (child abuse, queerness, neurodivergence, you know the drill)! The challenging of each other’s worldview! The softness of her hand in his! Disobedience as an act of devotion!
And upon watching the episode — is there anything more beautiful than this evil genius/desperate kid abandoning the masterplan he dedicated his entire life to, the scheme he threw away all moral considerations for, just to make this pretty and deeply hurt girl he just met happy?
2. What are your favorite things about the ship?
Every. Single. Aspect.
What can I say that I haven’t said before.
They are incredible representation (AH!!!!! See what I did there?) for basically every marginalised group ever.
They are incredibly soft, even though they were created to be perfectly emotionless (Kagami) or perversely cruel (Felix). Not only is their relationship forbidden, their capacity to love itself is an infraction to the blueprints crafted by their parents.
The ease with which they switch moral alignments for each other, which is majorly overlooked on Kagami’s part. More on that in another post on another day.
Felix willingly following her guidance in Representation is the ultimate proof that he has achieved freedom; devotion is meaningless if it is not freely given.
THEY HOLD HANDS SO MUCH. WHEN THEIR AMOKS ARE FUCKING RINGS. IF THAT ISN’T THE ULTIMATE SHOW OF VULNERABILITY AND TRUST I DON’T KNOW WHAT IS.
And much more. I am slightly drunk right now, so I’m probably forgetting a lot.
3. Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?
Shipping Feligami is controversial in itself, somehow. Let me tell you, many people out there have weird grudges against 14-year-old characters, and absolutely zero reading comprehension. DO NOT READ THE COMMENTS ON BUGGACHAT’S LATEST CHAPTER, Sunny. You would be shocked by how many advocate for violence against our boy.
Other than that, as you said yourself — childfree Feligami for the win. There is no way these queer (!) abuse survivors (!!) who defy any and all societal norms (!!!) would have kids. I rest my case.

Gary laughs a bit before everyone is cut off by kai standing up. "ok...my dear followers..i have something to say" he spoke. his voice loud and broad. "last night...one of you betrayed us..." i sit up tall and furrow my brows. "who" i asked very well concerned. "well...i believe...it was you..." he said, eyes burning into mine. he moved so much closer to me. "where did you go last night...why dont you tell everyone WHY THE FUCK YOU WERE AT THE POLICE STATION" he shouted "kai please i didnt do anything" i said. he moved in closer. "suuuure" he said before a smile formed on his lips. "kai..." i whined. "what" he snapped back. "please...i didnt do anything". i said as a few tears fell from my eyes. "hm..." he pondered "ill give you the benefit of the doubt....for now" he said. tears fell from my eyes...how could the man i looked up to for years... become so paranoid he doesnt believe me. kai walked over to me "But if you do something like this again and I found out… I won't hesitate to kill you… okay?" he said with a menacing smile. i nodded even though i did nothing wrong. kai suddenly stepped forward and grasped my shirt tightly. our bodies were touching. The only point I’ve seen you argue so much abt the fact it was alright for daemyra to sleep together at Laena’s funeral is that Laena knew that Daemon liked Rhaenyra so it was fine but that’s honestly so disrespectful, if you were to take a survey and you asked women that are in a relationship like Daemon and Laena’s if they were alright with their partners sleeping with the woman they desire on the night of their funeral I bet 99% of them would say “No”. They could have chosen to wait a little bit but no they decided to disrespect Laena by sleeping together on the night of her funeral. Don’t say that it’s alright because they weren’t harming anyone and they were in their own corner because neither was Aemond until he was jumped and if it was revealed that D and R slept together that night then I bet Daemons daughters would feel even more angry towards the mistreatment of their mothers funeral. The fact you try to excuse their behaviour is disgusting “precious Rhaenyra can’t do anything wrong” mentality. If Aemond claiming Laena’s dragon the night of her funeral is disrespectful then so is Rhae and Daemon sleeping together.
Did you see the look on the kids faces when R and D got married?? They did not look happy at all, both sides have just lost someone and instead of their parents being respectful and having time to grieve they just marry each other days after the funerals (correct me on the timing there if I’m wrong but point still stands)
That was not the subject of the debate.
The original topic is to think that Daemyra sleeping together is more serious or tied with than Aemond going to claim Vaghar. Which, obviously, is not the case. Aemond leaving to take Vaghar is much more serious.
That's the debate. And once again, Aemond claiming Vaghar is more serious.
Then, I never claimed that Daemyra were saints, or blameless people. That's not the point.
What they did is not all pretty. But there is nothing fundamentally serious and horrible about it as some people, like you, try to claim sor hard.
Laena is dead and will not return. She has also been dead for probably several weeks. She literally knew that Daemyra loved each other and had made peace with it, in his own words. (So possibly, she wouldn't really care about what they did, so the madness of saying that they lack respect for Laena makes me laugh softly. Stop imagining the worst of what Laena could think. She may be against it, just like not really giving a damn that they slept together at that time)
Daemyra, for their part, slept together, alone, in their corner, discreetly, and technically after the burial ceremony and "festivities" following the event.
The only thing really shocking about it is the moral code imposed by society formatting our way of thinking.
But in absolute terms, Daemyra sleeping together didn't do anything fondamently horrible. Let it be Laena, since she is dead. To the children, the Velaryons and the guests, since they know nothing about it. Not to mention the burial ceremony itself. It's not like Daemyra is having sex while we're burying Laena.
Daemyra sleeping together in episode 7 of the funeral is not a matter of state, I'm sorry.
Also... why make up a "what if" scenarios to try to make the real situation worse than it really is ? (Besides, admire how there is no need for "what if" in the case of Aemond to make his action serious or for the empire her. No, it is fundamentally serious and has caused harm. Quite simply)
The kids don't know anything about what happened, and probably don't know anything about sex now, especially the girls, and I doubt they would have been let to know such a thing, it would probably have been hidden from them if they had found out one way or another.
Frankly, the odds that the girls ended up on the beach in the middle of the night, exactly where Daemyra is, are ridiculously close to 0. Relax a little about the kids' involvement.
I'm sorry to say it, but remembering that in the real situation, Dameyra didn't hurt anyone is important in judging the overall canonical situation, in relation to the debate on Aemond.
And sorry, but I don't care about the kids' opinions on marriage.
Daemyra are adults who do what they want.
Especially since Rhaenyra was probably pregnant with Aegon III at that time, so a quick marriage was necessary.
And then they have already waited 10 years, they have the right to no longer want to wait.
As for time, Daemyra in the book waited a few months after Laena's death to get married, and nothing in the show is specified in terms of time.
Also generally speaking, a child will not be happy if their deceased parent is replaced by another, especially at a young age.
Then, finally, they are very happy that it happened, seeing as they all seem very happy together in episode 8.
It obviously didn't traumatize them.
So there’s no point in pretending that it deeply affected the children either.
Especially in comparison to Aemond's case with Vaghar.
What Daemyra did is not inherently pretty or very morally correct. But there's nothing inherently bad about it either. Is not black and white. And even less serious than the Aemond and Vaghar case. That's all I'm saying.
Also, rather interesting that you talk about the fact that I would think that I have “precious Rhaenyra can’t do anything wrong” mentality, as I talk about Daemyra together. Do you have any hatred particularly directed towards Rhaenyra anon ? Because once again, it takes two (or more) to fuck.
That's what I think and I'm not ashamed of it, whether it might shock some people or not, and whether you find it disgusting or not.

Okay, so… Lesson 40 spoilers ahead. I have many thoughts. Be warned, not all thoughts are positive.
Alright, so… We all know the general thoughts and feelings about the writing in nightbringer especially. I’ll touch on that later- but I will say, i sure as hell don’t think it was good in this most recent lesson.
First, I will say- I did greatly enjoy the individual moments with each of our boys. You’ll never guess who my favorite was- no, don’t look at the blog name- shit, yeah, it was Simeon. A close second was Barbatos, and following that, I loved Solomon in the whole lesson.
Simeon’s individual time was adorable. I loved the callback to the previous lesson. Giving him his own advice, and getting the option to cover his eyes for him as well? I think that was a nice touch. I also loved how we could see the seed of distrust planted in Simeon. We got to see him begin questioning his Father, which I think was actually very interesting. There Will be writing based on that coming from me at some point lol.
Next, Barbatos. I’ve seen other people talking about it, but… He knows. Barbatos SO knows. I loved how they hinted at him knowing that we aren’t from that time.
Lastly on the individual characters, Solomon! Normally, in OM, things that happened a while ago just straight up get forgotten, or brushed under the rug if they conflict with something new. I fully expected that to be the case with telling him his food is hot garbage. But it was very fun to see his endeavors in cooking once more, and actually succeeding with the help of Luke and Barbatos! I still feel bad about telling him the truth, but hey… someone had to. And we had a nice moment where his food was actually appreciated for it!
Now… That’s about all the positive things I have to say about this chapter. Please, click away if you don’t want to see criticism.
So… The goodbye felt lacking. The whole thing did, honestly- but the goodbye especially. You mean to tell me that we spent months building up to this epic moment where we are supposed to be going back home and… That?
1: the whole portal thing was absolutely pulled out of someone’s ass. Unless anyone remembers something I don’t- there was absolutely 0 mention of some hole in the sky that was meant to take us home. It makes no sense, either. We had the OPTION to wait until the founding ceremony, according to Solomon. That’s what made it special, in my opinion. The whole thing felt like laziness and rushed explanation. It feels as though they just didn’t want us to see Lucifer’s speech and wanted some excuse for the boys to “sacrifice” something for us, but really- there’s no reason.
2: You mean to tell me we really didn’t get to figure anything out about nightbringer? I want to be able to say that I trust the writers to give us more on nightbringer in the later lessons, but… We all know how much Solmare loves to just brush things under the rug. I wouldn’t be shocked if we got a half assed explanation, or even just ignored the whole nightbringer dudarino entirely.
3: Now, I can’t personally attest to it since I don’t give as many fucks about the hard lessons… But from what I hear, the hard lesson 40 was kinda bullshit. You’ll have to look for someone else’s explanation (or please, post your experience here!) but basically, from what I gathered, it also seemed very half assed.
4: This one is maybe more subjective, but… It bothers me a LOT that we never came clean. We made this big deal about having the brothers and everyone else trust us, but at the end of the day? We were no better. We hid a huge secret. And, don’t get me started with the whole “we can’t say anything because it will alter timelines” bullshit, because what the hell is the excuse with lesson 16 in OG? We died, then showed up again back then. That’s pretty groundbreaking shit.
ADDITIONALLY… Would that not give something for us to overcome? What is the point of storytelling if not to give the characters a problem? Say the timeline went fucky because we said something- I think that’s a way more entertaining tale than if everything went perfectly according to plan.
I’m really, really irritated that the MC had to be so hypocritical. How is it fair that we demand the trust from others if we won’t place our trust in them?
So… There are my thoughts. I don’t think my experience is universal- people are 100% free to disagree. But, with this being the season finale, I feel it was so… so lacking. Please, share your thoughts!

The first time I cleared Act 3 of BG3, I was playing as the Dark Urge and I went into it totally blind. I went in with 0 spoilers, no interaction with the community at all, no looking up resources or guides, nothing.
Because of this, I had some really weird holes in my experience and my already simmering distaste for how flippant the party was about the Dark Urge and their actions and struggle full blossomed into rage.
My first Durge never got the Coronation scene with Gortash. I got to Wyrm's Rock Fortress and the Steel Watchers were all saying to go to the Coronation chamber and immediately all my alarm bells were going off. THIS IS A TRAP.
It felt so much like Irenicus leading us into the prison of the Cowled Wizards to continue his experiments. I was convinced that I was going to be ambushed or thrust into combat with one of the BBEGs that I was in no way prepared for so early into Act 3.
And so I walked my ass straight through that bridge and out the other side and didn't ascend to see the Coronation. I had no clue about what Gortash says and does in that scene, and being that it was a first playthrough and I was flying through it in a stumbling haze and not scouring for everything, I had no clue about the Durge's involvement in the plot, in their connection to anything, any of it.
By that point, before the big reveal dream with Bhaal, I had figured out that the Durge was at the very least Bhaalspawn. I love the original games too much and spotted those signs early on. But beyond that, I was in the dark.
So I, hyperfocused on the fact that Bhaal wanted the Durge to reclaim their temple, of which they were long standing high priest, I waltzed my happy ass to the Steel Watch Foundry and disabled them. Fought my way back into the Wyrm Rock Fortress since everyone is aggro at that point and obliterated Gortash in the coronation hall without a single bit of dialogue triggering. No fanfare or commentary from my party. Karlach said she was pissed she wasn't there for it, but would be fine if I just took her to see the body.
And then I did the Murder Tribunal-- shocked to see all the faces of the people I had to kill in Throne of Bhaal staring back at me, not to mention Saravok, whom I obliterated in the original Baldur's Gate, and then ABSOLUTELY REFUSED TO BRING BACK when the option was given in Throne of Bhaal because absolutely not (my Gorion's Ward was a Paladin struggling with nature vs nurture, which back in 2E days was a human and lawful good by requirements). I learned more about Orin, sacrificed Valeria, and moved on to the temple.
Orin's transformation into him, the face of my Durge, his voice, telling me all about Durge's roll in the Absolute plot, was the first I had heard of any of this, and as such, was the first time any of my companions had heard of it. It was just revealed to all of them that the Durge was born of Bhaal, that he was the head of the Bhaal Temple, that he was to blame for them all having tadpoles and this whole messy war on multiple fronts, and that he was here to reclaim his place as Bhaal's Chosen, not just to take Orin down.
Up to this point, everyone had just brushed off his murder of Alfira like it was nothing. They hadn't commented on his murder of Isobel and the destruction of Last Light. They didn't have much to say about him becoming the Slayer. None of them pushed him to struggle, to fight against it, to do better, be better. They just kept following him into the dark, and so by my reasoning, why would he struggle? It's his nature, after all, and no one has seen anything wrong with it, or at least hasn't voiced such discomfort to his face.
And with all that revealed? Did they have any commentary on it?
No. They didn't say a word.
No one had anything to say about it, and it was the singular point that absolutely broke my experience. It was the thing that made me pick up a notebook and seriously start writing again, after almost 10 years of not writing. I was so angry I wanted to do it right, to do it justice, BECAUSE NO ONE IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WOULD JUST STAND THERE WHEN THE VILLAIN OF THEIR CURRENT ENTIRE EXISTENCE WAS JUT REVEALED TO HAVE BEEN SLEEPING FEET AWAY FROM THEM AND BREAKING BREAD WITH THEM EVERY NIGHT FOR THE PAST MONTH.
I have since done other Durge runs. I have gone through the coronation. I've picked up the broken pieces of them scattered across the Shadowed Lands to the crypts of Baldur's Gate and still, AND STILL, the lack of reaction, the lack of care, it gets to me.
This could have been so much better.

What'cha playing video game wise, Jaz?
Need to finish AC Valhalla but I'm having a hard time staying on track. I got Sigurd back and he's a bag of dicks and I knooooooow it ties into the story and I knoooooooow being a bag of dicks after being tortured for weeks (months? unclear how much time has passed) is a pretty normal trauma response but also. Currently he's a jerk and Eivor's dedication to him while he's being a jerk is admirable but I can't relate. The game is fun but the story right now is not particularly rewarding. I don't like doing a lot of work and bringing it to someone only for them to throw it in my face and tell me I'll never be good enough. So I don't really like where I am in the plot atm.
So instead of being mad at Sigurd all the time, I'm playing Harvestella and working on finishing that. Truly it did not deserve the wankfest made about it when it first came out. I will say having gotten much farther, it's less "final fantasy meets stardew valley" which I think set a lot of people up for expectations that would absolutely not be met. It's more "Nier series with some farming/gathering elements" and even makes more than a few heavyhanded Nier Automata references. People (myself included) saw SquareEnix on the cover and assumed Final Fantasy and I think that was overall detrimental to its reception because it's very not a FF game but it's probably as close to a Yoko Taro game as you can get without having him on staff. I've been a fan of his stuff since the original Drakengard so I'm fine with that but his stuff is *weird* and often weird in really unexpected ways, so if you're not expecting that out the gate it can be a pretty big shock.
I am still not sure if I want to actually play FFVII Evercrisis- I'm interested in the additions to the overall lore and plot and I like the convenience of having the full compilation in one easy-to-access location (including supposedly a few Japan-only entries I never actually got ahold of) but at the same time the demo was pretty micro-transation-y and as a general rule I hate gacha systems especially when they rely on real money to use. First Soldier was one thing because the gacha stuff was mostly cosmetic, and you didn't need the gacha weapons or armor to win (as evidenced by my wins having spent 0 money on anything). But the Evercrisis demo had gacha items needed for progression which means inevitabily I'm going to hit a wall and not be able to progress the story without spending money, and I hate games that do this.
Once I'm done with Valhalla it'll be Elden Ring (thanks @khayr !) and then FFVII Rebirth will probably be out by the time I'm done with it, which I'll play to death I'm sure. I still have to play Horizon Forbidden West (thanks follower whose URL I can't find again) and then go back and play the additional content I have for KH3, Ghost of Tsushima, and the new update stuff for Ghostwire Tokyo... as well as various switch games I need to just finish already... oh and the new Y's is coming out soon and at some point I need to snag FFXVI... and then there's AC Mirage whenever that releases plus I'm really looking forward to Red and Jade... and besides I have to go back and actually finish Origins and start Odessey (and black flag, and rogue, and unity...)

Taehyung? What is he doing here?
“Tae, is it Jimin?”
Dom turns just in time to see you slap a hand over Yuri’s face, shaking her head at the loudmouth. Yuri gets her credit where it’s due, though. That girl will do anything to get to the bottom of something.
But what is Taehyung doing here? Honestly, this is more shocking than you hiding someone.
Unless you invited him. Which is fair: you being here alone would definitely be strange since your brother is out of town.
Tae tilts his head when he arrives in front of everyone’s shoes. “What’d you say?”
Reia responds instead, “Is Jimin the one she’s seeing?”
Dom folds her lips to keep from laughing. Because the look on that man’s face is enough of an answer.
It’s enough to almost break her, so she looks away instead. At you.
Very, very intently watching something on the court.
What are you...
Yoongi just passed to Jimin, and he made a shot. Maybe you are seeing Jimin? And Tae’s trying too hard to make it not seem that way?
Dom knows it isn’t Yoongi you’re seeing.
Because if it is, y’all are gonna talk.
But your voice saves Taehyung from blurting out whatever sass is coming, “How about we not talk about this?”
“But I wanna know,” Yuri says in her go-to pleading voice, which can escalate quick if she isn’t stopped, “We saw him pretty cozy with you just now.”
Alright, time to step in.
“Y’all, she said drop it. She’ll tell us when she’s ready.”
“Dominique! You’re no fun.”
“So? I wouldn’t wanna be grilled like this.”
It’s true. They’re going a little too hard for people saying they were happy for you seeing someone.
When she sees you wordlessly thank her, the acknowledgement is just as silent. And the conversation quickly switches to another topic: Yuri’s man-that’s-not-really-her-man, as she calls it.
Dom calls it bullshit, but that’s their business. They really should just date if both of them can’t seem to stop.
You’re watching the game really carefully again. What the hell?
When Dom follows your vision this time, what she sees on the other end makes her chest cave.
Yoongi’s staring back at you.
Goddamn it, girl.
Not him.
Quietly shaking her head, Dom thinks about what the hell to do. On one hand, you seem pretty damn fine. Happy, even.
But on the other hand, whatever the fuck he did to Amari is something she still hasn’t forgotten. Or forgiven.
She has to let you know. At least warn you if this is something serious. No way in hell is he gonna do the same thing to you.
“What are you doing here, Tae?”
Dom’s thoughts blink away as she also concentrates on Taehyung’s answer.
He only shrugs. “I didn’t have any plans.”
Huh? Isn’t he the one that always has plans?
Then Reia asks you what you’re doing here, and Dom has to check her nails to keep her mouth shut. Fuck, you’re even looking at him while you’re lying! Girl!
Dom quickly scans the court—ignoring the blatant staring from Yoongi while he wipes sweat during Yuri’s man’s freethrows—for a distraction. Damn, he really is fine as hell, but it doesn’t take away from his choices.
Deciding how to save your ass again, she suddenly intervenes, “Yuri.”
“Huh?”
“Look at your man at the line. Is he a fucking teapot?”
Everyone bursts into laughter—distracting the rest of the mostly quiet bleachers during the second freethrow—while Yuri’s jaw drops.
“Hey, now wait a second—”
“He reminds me more of a noodle.”
“I was thinking noodle, too!”
“Y’all!”
“Yuri, pick: are you team teapot or team noodle?”
“I’m leaving!”
It seems to work like a charm yet again. Truly, you should be paying her at this point, but it’s all good.
For the rest of the game, Dom keeps glancing your way.
And with every look, the absolute adoration in your eyes is both heartwarming and heartbreaking at the same time.

“I was in the hotel after the national team match (Belgium 2-0 England) and a photo of Mishel with a dog popped up on Instagram. I only watch profiles that I follow and I didn't know her but she suddenly popped up. I thought it was a very sweet photo and commented, "Cuties" not intending for her to respond to me. But it worked." - recalls Thibaut Courtois. It was November 2020, in the middle of the global crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, and no one, not even themselves, expected that this whim of fate would turn them into the heroes of a love story. «I saw the message and thought, “Okay, fine. – I will answer you. And I wrote : "Thank you." He immediately asked me how my day was, how everything was going, and I thought: "This guy is cute." - explains model Mishel Gerzig.
From that evening on, they started talking non-stop. Every day. Until almost six months later, in April 2021, they saw each other for the first time in Madrid. “And we never parted again.” she says, stroking his hand, and the bouncer smiles knowingly in response. This is the first joint session after the wedding, which took place last July in a fairy-tale castle on the French Riviera, and after a serious knee injury that has kept Tibo off the pitch since August. During the session, they share confidences, smile, hug and kiss between photos... They are in a state of absolute happiness that cannot be hidden.
ELLE : Your relationship started long distance, but what was it like the first time you met in person?
THIBAUT: It was in Barajas, at the airport. You could fly to Spain from France, so she first flew from Israel to Paris and from there to Madrid. Right after landing, she told me that she had a problem with her passport and that they wouldn't let her into the country. It was a joke, but I was shocked and started thinking about how I could solve it. I couldn't believe it, I felt terrible.
MISHEL: (laugh). I thought of this joke to break the ice because I was very nervous when I saw him.
T: She was traveling with her best friend and they spent the night at my house. But we slept separately! (laugh). We had been talking on FaceTime all the time for months, we knew each other very well, but we needed to meet in person. We didn't plan much. We went for lunch, dinner, walked, talked for hours... I tried to get a friend to accompany me to training or a match. In fact, Mishel sometimes visited Di Stéfano, where we were playing at the time. And everything came out naturally, it worked. She brought a suitcase for two weeks because she had the idea to go to Amsterdam to work and then she never left (laugh).
M: That's true! The pandemic started and I was in Israel. When I had the opportunity to travel, I wanted to resume modeling, but my plans changed (laughter). I planned to stay here for two weeks, but I stayed much longer. That's because we had so much fun together. We already knew that we understood each other well remotely, but we tested each other in person and our relationship was even stronger.
E: So much so that you quickly became engaged.
T: And I wanted it to be even earlier (laugh). In January 2022, I went to buy a ring with a friend and thought: "I want one too." We had only been together for a few months, but I knew Mishel was the love of my life. I decided to wait until June to do it in a unique way. She loves the sea, so I found the right moment, improvised during a trip to Positano and asked her. We didn't want to wait so long to get married, but due to the World Cup and other commitments with Real Madrid and the Belgian national team, it was difficult to find an earlier date.
E: Thibaut is an international football star. Did you feel dizzy when you entered his world?
M: At first, yes. I thought about how I would cope. Tibo attracts a lot of attention and generates a lot of noise, but I slowly got used to it. It's beautiful to see all the love it awakens in people.
E: Shortly after the wedding, an injury occurred. How did you survive it?
T: The first day was difficult. I wrote to Mishel: "I think I broke my knee in training."
M: I quickly took the car and drove to Valdebebas.
T: We went for an MRI, which quickly showed that I had a serious injury. I was still inside and they had already told Mishel and the physio what happened. When I came out, I cried, but then I felt people's support and I started thinking positively. You can't go back. Mishel helped me a lot, especially in the first month when I was limping and could barely move. Now I'm working hard to come back as soon as possible and be 100% healthy.
E: How did this situation change your daily life?
T: Now I spend more hours training, but I also have more flexibility when it comes to being with my children and Mishel. The good thing is that they adore her, so we spend a lot of time together. The injury made me look at everything from a different perspective. I love football and I miss it, but there are other things I love and want to do. This year I'm going to start my Master's in Sports Management and hope to graduate. We also have several businesses (he invested in the production of plant milk, in Neat Burger, vegan burgers, in which Leonardo DiCaprio and Lewis Hamilton are also partners; he has a Formula 4 team, TC Racing, and Mishel is preparing to open a beauty salon in Madrid), it is worth develop mentally and learn new things. We are both curious and excited.
M: I'm lucky that in my job I can move deadlines freely. Previously, I did it to be with him at important matches and support him. When he got injured, I changed my schedule to spend more time at home to help him. And now, when I feel much better, I have gone to work in the United States. For me, balance is the most important thing because I want to do both, have time for work, but also for my personal and family life.
E: Speaking of family, your Mishel lives in Israel. How do you deal with what's going on there?
M: All people who were born there have been up to date with the current conflict throughout their lives. It's not that you get used to it, but you grow up having it in your everyday life. I served in the military for two years, so I know this up close. It's very painful to see what point this has gotten to. My family and friends are seeing and hearing terrible things as we all know people who have been killed or injured.
T: When I was a child and saw this conflict on TV, I didn't understand anything. This is a delicate and complicated issue for those of us who are neither Palestinian nor Israeli. Now I have family and friends there, so I experience it more closely, but I am Belgian. I show my support and respect every opinion, as long as it is expressed in a polite manner. We are all human and no one wants innocent people to die. This is the most important. But now there is a lot of hate, especially online, there is a lot of division and it is very difficult. These are things that cannot be allowed because we all want peace.
M: I have been living with this confrontation for 26 years, but I want to be positive and believe that peace will come and that all innocent people will be safe.
E: How did your careers start?
M: I started when I was 13, participating in a beauty pageant in Tel Aviv. At the age of 16, I worked outside Israel for the first time, on shows and campaigns in Milan and Miami.
T: I have been playing football since I was a child. At the age of 16, I was lucky enough to join Genk, one of the best teams in Belgium. When I was 18, we won the league and that made me grow. Chelsea signed a contract with me and loaned me to Atlético Madrid. I didn't speak Spanish, but I felt it was time to leave, even though almost no one around me was supportive. The first weeks were difficult, but I immediately felt the warmth of the people. The crowd and the team welcomed me very warmly and that made me fall in love with Madrid and Spain. When I had to go to England, it was very difficult for me to adapt because I missed Madrid. That's why I was happy to come back in 2018.
E: First you were at Atléti and now at Real Madrid. Do you think people understand this?
T: I know this is hard to understand for someone who loves Atléti. For the three years I played there, I gave everything I had to win. But I'm an athlete, it's my profession and I have to improve and fulfill my dreams by making bold decisions. Of course, I respect my past and never forget about it.
E: What are your plans for the future?
T: Growing the family, that's the first. And helping people, and that's the most important thing to both of us. To come back well after the injury and be in the best shape. Develop businesses and continue to enjoy life together in Madrid, with family and five dogs. I love sports and will always be involved in it, but when I retire, I see myself coaching youth teams rather than senior teams. It's too much pressure and too much time away from home. I think Mishel would throw me out of it (laugh).

As in, coming out of death portal/pit, both 14 year olds suddenly take each other's place.
And hey, if they act a little... a lot different? Well, this was a traumatic event that would leave anyone absolutely changed.
it's like they became a completely different person.
Jason was very amnesiac, much confusion when he went in so it could be excused that he will panick and show absolutely no chill at being surrounded by strangers that aren't doctors, let alone ninjas, when he came back to life
(after the shock and subsequent almost drowning that went from vertical standing in a hell/hallway to horizontal swimming in a hell-pool. the reverse is also applicable to jason-as-danny)
Oh Jason lost all his fighting skills? He doesn't know Bruce or Gotham? Must be some trauma response. No matter, there are no flaws to correct, just a blank canvas to paint on!
Bad times for "Jason" might include: oh no my morals, murder and stuff, is this hell and all these ghosts?, incredible anger issues, a whole cult of ninjas, coming to terms with the situation that went from 0 to 100 (like, seriously, nothing had ever happened to danny before), evil cult leader and the ??? cult leader's daughter that is kinda your mentor now?,

Danny hasn't yet had his rebellious teenager phase right? He seems very withdrawn for some reason?
