The oldest inn in Denmark sounds like something that was taken straight out of a horror story bordering on being too cliche or weird to be believable.
I present to you Bromølle Kro
Tumblr media
We don’t know how old it is because it was first mentioned in a text from 1198 when it had already been open for years. I could go into detail about how it also used to function as a mill and store but that’s boring.
The first strange part is that the current building isn’t the original. You see, it was build on a bog and slowly each incarnation of the inn would get more and more damp, the floor would become soggy, mould would spread and the walls would bend as the whole thing sank into the ground. Eventually the owners would tear the whole thing down and build a new inn on the rubble. They did this over and over again, leaving everyone to wonder why they didn’t rebuild it somewhere else.
Tumblr media
Then in the 1700’s guests started to disappear. It took a while for people to notice because most guests were travellers who were expected to be gone by morning anyway, but eventually so many people disappeared it couldn’t be ignored.
The couple who owned the inn were accused of getting rich patrons senselessly drunk, dragging them to their room and beating them to death with a club hidden under the bed. They then threw the victims out the window into the river that ran behind the inn.
Tumblr media
For years people weren’t sure how true the story was. Did they really kill that many people? How would that even be possible without anyone seeing or hearing it?
Then in the 1950’s people wanted to straighten the river out for convenience and after they temporarily dried it up they started digging and found a skeleton. And another. And another. And another.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In all they dug up 28 skeletons from one small stretch of the river very close to the inn. And those were just the ones they found.
And despite all this the inn stayed in business. It wasn’t closed despite repeatedly sinking into the ground. It didn’t close when the owners were hanged for being serial killers. And it didn’t bother anyone that they had been sleeping and dining next to murder victims for years.
Tumblr media
Today the ground has dried up and you can even enjoy the view of the river while you have lunch. They keep two of the skulls in the reception and named one of them Frede (a name that means peace/rest) for your viewing pleasure.
Tumblr media
And somehow Bromølle Kro just keeps going and going…

Ghost Drone is an AU where the events of Murder Drones have been spread out some odd years and changed around (except for Episode 1, which remains the same as it does in the show). Alternate takes on Episodes 2, 3 and 5 have already occurred.
The first comic isn't canon to the AU anymore, but since it's the initial concept, I figured I'd include it. This entire post is basically my way of saying "Hey, this AU has been stewing in my brain since the 16th of November in 2023."

“Is this the part where you interrogate me again?” he asks you. There’s amusement in his tone, yet his posture tells you he’s willing to comply. You nod, and he clicks his nonexistent tongue. “Boo~ And here I thought you missed me~”
You fight the corners of your mouth from rising as you give a roll of your eyes. “Standard procedure,” you tell him, plucking your handy notepad and pen from your coat pocket. “Just like last time.”
“Is it not procedure to do this at the station?”
“That is the usual place, yes,” you say, giving your pen life as you swirl circles in the corner of the page to get ink flowing, “for officers to maintain control and ensure the safety of others.” You lift your eyes to him. “As someone who is qualified to do both, I trust you’ll keep yourself composed?”

Itty Bitty Timmy becoming Superman obsessed instead of Batman obsessed
And he somehow still manages to tail Superman for photos without Superman knowing.
Like, his parents move to Metropolis instead of Gotham. He gets saved by Superman at three instead of watching the Graysons die.
He fixates.
He pinpoints where Superman appears to start from during emergency vs where he starts from via regular patrol based on the level of crime stopped and manages to find not only the Daily Planet, but also Clarks goddamn apartment building.
He manages to get a list and pictures of all reporters at the Daily Planet.
He figures out who Superman is.
Superman only realizes he has a child following him around when said child almost gets too close the the action.
And then he does it again.
And again.
In the middle of an argument, the same one that would have driven Jason away, Superman flies into the cave holding a windswept Tim.
"Please teach him how not to die." Was probably not the best opener, but Clarks suffered multiple small heart attacks thanks to the kid, and he needs help from the only completely human hero he knows who can go toe to toe with gods.
The other option was Green Arrow, but Tim's need to solve mysteries fits more with Bruce than Ollie.

One day a few years ago I decided to go for a walk. My betrothed was hanging with a friend who was over and neither wanted to head out so I shrugged and went alone.
My neighborhood is exceedingly safe, there’s a little school right down the street and I’ve never had a worry. It was getting closer to dusk but there was still plenty of summer sunlight laying around.
The route I picked was a circuit, it ends in a cul de sac and spins me back homeward. Along the way is a small manicured loop around some grass. It’s surrounded by trees and shrubberies. There’s a little play place and it’s popular to bring dogs and kids while not technically counting as a park.
As I came up on the loop I saw a young man jogging the circle and no one else. He looked to be about late teens to early twenties. I didn’t think anything of it, it’s a popular place to walk.
But when he spotted me coming he froze. He moved off the trail. I was still a ways off so it seemed oddly preemptive. Then to my surprise he went even further to move back into the bushes.
I hastily took off a headphone so I could listen to my surroundings and texted my betrothed and friend to be like, “Hey, here’s where I am on my walk and there’s some kid making me nervous.”
I aborted my trip on the loop since I would have had to pass by his patch of bushes, and continued down the main sidewalk. To my alarm I saw him moving closer through the bushes and I sped up to clear his hiding spot before he intersected with me. I had one glimpse of his blank staring face from his hiding spot before I was safely passed.
I immediately called my betrothed to be like, “There’s some Bush Boy making me nervous, stay on the phone!” I finished the circuit and had to head back the way I’d come from. My betrothed asked if they should come get me but I was feeling a little silly so I said no. I was jumpy on the walk back but didn’t see him again.
It’s possible that he was just a weird kid but it spooked me. Now my betrothed and I will call someone a Bush Boy if they’re behaving like a creep or we have reason to suspect they’re up to something.
“So-and-so is being a real Bush Boy,” is a common phrase for us. I’ve never seen him again.

David kinda hates that he has to interrupt the truly bizarre conversation Steve and Dustin are having about wiretapping and a ‘Cerebro’ but Career Day is about to officially start and-
Steve: David! Hey, have I intro- no, I introduced you guys already. How do you feel about older women?
Dustin: Oh my god, Steve, El and I are just friends! And anyways, she’s not going to want to date this literal child!
David, reluctantly: I’m twenty-four
Steve: I’m not asking for El. I’m asking for Susie since you won’t marry her either.
Dustin: What’s Susie going to do with a middle school teacher? She’d have a more intellectually stimulating conversation with a brick wall.
Steve: Dude, harsh. Apologize.
Dustin, unconvincing: Sorry
David: Uh, no problem? Steve, um. You wanted to know when… Well, your ex. He’s here.
Steve HE’S here???

The earlier Grue post has reminded me of an observation I had a while ago but never got around to hammering out- basically no superheroes actually featured in a parahumans story maintain a secret identity in the classic bifurcated sense. There's anonymity, sure, and as seen in the Dauntless interlude there are cover stories that their neighbors hear about their day job, but with the exception of pointed edge cases like Alexandria and Brandish, the professionalization of heroism is near total. None of these people are juggling a day job. Examples of the classic dual identity situation are actually slightly more common among the villains- Purity has a day job as an interior decorator, and Kaiser and Coil are in charge of their respective companies- but of course all of those are kinda "set-your-own-hours" kinds of situations. Kaiser's got people and Coil's literally got a power custom made to grease the wheels on two-timing in that way. The majority are full-time gangsters or mercenaries. Taylor's pre-Leviathan juggling of school and supervillainy is actually the main example of anyone trying to do it and the course that ultimately takes is instructional as to why she's the only one. Taylor mentions that people joke about her iterant teacher Mr. Quinlan secretly being a cape, but a lot of the book is spent quietly putting the torch to the idea that that kind of balance is tenable. Like at a minimum people would notice that you're running off all the time, there's a whole shell-game played with pulling random kids out of class at Arcadia to obfuscate which ones are actually the superheroes.

Titus was not the victor. But would you mind drawing him?
As someone who consider herself one of the biggest D6 stan in the fandom of course I don't mind drawing the only named character from the District (in the original trilogy)
Tumblr media
Feel like Titus is such an interesting character that Katniss mentions off handily. It shows how brutal the games can get that one of it's players will resort to something so taboo to survive. And how that amounted to nothing because the Capitol still killed him for it. Kind of shows just surviving isn't enough, you also have to be entertaining and palatable. Really hammering in that it's reality TV, not just a death match.
With the context of TBOSAS it makes sense why they weren't rooting for him. It hit too close to home. Instead of being the reflection of the "worst" from the District, he became a reflection of the worst from the Capitol. Which explains why they would never accept him as Victor.
Sidenote, I think it's interesting how it's also meta in the way Capitol "propaganda" gets to the reader. So many fanworks I have seen with him in it just takes it at face value that he must have been a crazy monster, instead of a starving kid stuck in an arena with no food seeing how he ended up being killed by an avalanche. It's interesting in my opinion.
Have more thoughts but I'll spare those for my fic so yeah so if you are reading that...there's something to look forwards to or maybe not it's rather bleak

Virgin Joseph Fink & Jeffrey Cranor: if we explained why this rock could talk it would suck all the joy and poetry out of everything
Chad Wildbow: the complex and intricate worldbuilding on the nature of others means I can explain why this cigarette is near-sentient in a satisfying and interesting way, and then some magical teens can go interview it in a dream where they're all film noir in a smoky speakeasy overhearing local chatter
