I’ve been a lil sad for the past couple days and y’know what I actually think it’s bc it’s finally sinking in that the rp’s over and I won’t play Gillian anymore, and I’ll really miss him, I hope I played him well and I hope everybody liked him as much as I loved playing him. I hope he wasn’t too Much. I will really, really miss him

great how my mum reassured me that my identity as a queer person wouldn’t ever become a source of contention for her and my dad even though it now literally has lol. could have predicted that from a mile away

friendly reminder to accommodate your own needs!
Seriously. Accommodate them. Do the little things that will make your life easier.
I’m talking about tricking yourself into hydrating more by using syrups to sweeten your water, or getting a second pillow for a better sleeping position at night; stop folding your clothes if it takes up too much of your energy, just buy some boxes to put into your shelf/wardrobe where you can toss your clothes; reward yourself for tasks that you find annoying, even when it’s mundane things like brushing your teeth or doing the groceries, treat yourself, put your phone on airplane mode for an hour and relax, lie in your bed and listen to your favorite music, do nothing. Accommodate your body’s and your mind’s little needs.
Instead of blaming yourself for procrastinating or asking yourself which chores you haven’t done yet, ask yourself what your need right now to feel more relaxed/happy. Don’t ask “Why haven’t I done this yet?”, ask “What do I need to make this easier for myself?”
Accommodate your own needs. Make life easier for yourself; it’s already hard enough as it is.
I know it’s not easy, but the relationship to oneself is the only relationship that is guaranteed to last for a lifetime, so it’s worth putting some kindness into it.
