StarKid 15th Anniversary Revue

After over a year of planning, obsessing, and falling in love with these songs and this group even more than I already thought possible, I'm proud to officially present...the StarKid 15th Anniversary Revue, performed April 12th-13th at Vassar College!

so after talking about it for basically a year on here, the starkid 15th anniversary revue opens tonight at vassar college. it has been a bonkers year, and yet this has been so consistent and exciting. true to starkid form, we went through our share of bumps - cast members dropping out, issues with the venues on campus that were available, etc. - but we have a show, and it starts tonight, and i am so grateful and thankful. (and of course, we're filming this for y'all, so enjoy when it comes out hopefully next week!)

haha when I made this post I was talking about something that would be happening in 6 months and now we open in 16 days hahahahahaha

y'all are probably sick of hearing about this at this point but I'm working on a StarKid 15th Anniversary Revue to be performed at my college this coming spring and plans are actually coming together for me to get it done and I'm working on putting the finishing touches on the sheet music and I cannot stress to you how excited I am about this and how excited I am to share it with people

having both "director brain" and "music brain" is a horrible thing because I don't know what I want to do more: direct hazbin hotel season 1 as a musical or orchestrate the score from hazbin hotel season 1 as a musical

I'm making a @the-real-team-starkid concert for my college that would be performed next spring for the 15th anniversary and I'm making the orchestrations myself with Logic Pro X and

and now I just closed the show that I was starting to work on when I made this post and it was amazing and exhausting and beautiful and I cried after the show tonight and now I'm back in my room and it's OFFICIALLY TIME TO WORK ON THE STARKID REVUE I'M MAKING WOOOOOOOOO

just finished all the theatre I'm doing this semester, sat down in my bed, and immediately started preparations for the show I want to do next semester

thinking about if starkid did a concert series of licensed, non-starkid musicals. idk why i just am

It's so funny to me that Starkid's two big ongoing projects are:

-Horror comedy universe filled with death, monsters, explorations of societal and human evil, the world repeatedly ending, and jokes about "dirty girl soup"

-An ever-evolving but always earnest and wholesome 80s style musical about the power of love, community, generosity, and the holiday spirit.

and both projects are amazing and filled with absolute bangers how lucky are we?????????
