How did Zo's parents meet?
They joined the same krewe!
Fiita was coming out of a bad time after her prior krewe, which was researching phycotoxins, was broken into and sabotaged. So! She joins a krewe researching lichens in the Shiverpeaks and lends her knowledge of algae.
And when her krewe goes looking for a mycologist, who should they find but Seeli! He actually never went to the asuran Colleges, having always struggled as a student growing up and under pressure from his family to go into golemancy, the dude instead cut ties and went off to roam Tyria. He found a love for mycology after hanging out with the skritt of Lion's Arch and spent years researching fungi, which brought him to the Shiverpeaks, which brought him to the krewe!
Funnily enough, Fiita didn't know what to think about Seeli and decided she didn't like him at first (her trust in people was pretty shot at the time). Who was this weird little dude who kept cooking for her, talking to her, smiling at her and asking her about her life!!! Meanwhile Seeli was fascinated by her and wanted to get to know her, be her friend, and maybe even get to hear what her laugh sounds like. He was pretty head over heels from the start 😔
But then Fiita realized one day she was catching major feelings after she had Seeli properly figured out, and the rest is history!

it'll absolutely destroy me if one day we learn about a devilish changeling who deceived his entire city in the Calamity and caused it to fall. especially if that's the only remnant of the Ring of Brass that survived to modern day

Thinking about Zulli, prior to her memories returning, occasionally humming some old Seelie song without knowing where she'd ever heard it from, or that it's even a Seelie song in the first place. Knowing vaguely that she must know it from somewhere, because she isn't one to make such sad tunes herself.

giving them a seelie pet —
characters !! diluc, ayato, wanderer, zhongli
note !! little drabble as im trying to fall asleep~ gn reader
Diluc
Doesn't know how to react when you gesture for a floating green glob to approach him. He gives you a death stare. "You do know this. . . thing might end up in one of the wine crates by accident? the winery isn't the safest place for a 'pet' or whatever you intend this to be. . ."
Accepts it anyway because gentlemen don't refuse gifts. he leaves it to the maids at first but it keeps following him around that he's forced to look after it (he's saved it from being trapped in fermenting wine barrels a handful of times).
Eventually comes to accept it, but also tries to make use of it. "We need to have a better way of communicating. Can you understand morse code? . . . no? squeak twice if yes. Now what about turning you into a spy. . . too difficult? then how about a delivery bird?"
Ayato
He found it amusing but also questionable because why on teyvat would you give a seelie as a gift? it's an odd present to receive that's for sure, but he accepts it anyway.
Has a habit of teasing his new little red friend. Often pokes it, either with a pen or his finger. He's tried offering it boba milktea once but couldn't figure out where the mouth was.
Wanderer
This guy would give you the weirdest look, "looks like you're not all right in the head, because a seelie. . . pet? ha, there's something you don't hear everyday. insane."
he is an absolute bully! would poke his seelie multiple times just to hear it squeak. if it squeaks a lot, he'll trap it in his hat and keep it on a table. eventually does grow fond of it, having something rely on him gives him... purpose, makes him feel needed, and it's nice to have something his (but he'll never admit it).
may share his hat with his little golden friend!
Zhongli
He's just really glad you thought of him to give the seelie to! they have quite the history and he'll tell you all about them as you give him the pet!
although seekies tend to be quite squeaky loud, his becomes very well behaved. (zhongli simply smiles and shushes it gently, telling it to read along with him if it wants, and the seelie would settle down). they become a very calm pair, casually reading or drinking tea, strolling down the harbor. seelie likes to rest on his shoulders!

I am living for the fact that the same person who played Laerryn Coramar-Seelie, arguably one of the best leyline experts in the entire history of Exandria, is now cursing about not understanding what leylines are.

Friday 9/8 @ 5pm Pacific: The Complete History of Kingdom Hearts (For the Trans Empowerment Project)
About 2 years ago I did a stream where I explained the lore of Kingdom Hearts to my friends, including familiar folks like Laika, Cody, and Mia. This ran about four hours, and I left out Kingdom Hearts 3 so that I could build anticipation for my own stream of that game, which has never happened. Now, after reviving this stream format into what has become The Complete History series, I am ready to present my updated analysis of not only the story of the ENTIRE franchise, but also the development history, the game design, the actual pieces of the game that make it compelling. Yes, even Goofy dying.
Join me, @the-seelie-court-official, @spitzy-speaks-jp, and @radiofreederry as we raise money for the trans empowerment project! We're shooting for $2000 to help fundraise for trans people in need, providing things like emergency food, gender affirming clothing, and education resources! Stay tuned for our live incentives and stretch goals, and see y'all then!

“Led Zeppelin are gods among men, and Aisling Cowan in their queen.”
-
In May of 1971, CREEM magazine’s journalist: Oliver Thorne set out to try and discern just who Aisling Cowan was, the elusive female guitarist of the intrepid LZ. Here is his interview and cover of LZ’s performance in Usher Hall, Edinburgh, Scotland. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
-
(OBVIOUSLY ALL OF THIS ISNT REAL FOR LEGAL REASONS) I hope you guys like it though. Both Aisling and Oliver are my OCs that I have created for the story I have been writing known as “Forest of Time”. In which a girl from the twenty first century gets pulled back into 1969 by the Seelie Court of Fae. She get sucked into the world of rock n roll when she meets Jimmy Page by chance. Or not👀. Strange magick is afoot. She changes history on accident and becomes a part of LZ, for good or worse. I haven’t written this specific part of the story yet. But I couldn’t resist creating just how much Aisling changes history. Enjoy!
Here is the link to my story if you’re interested!: https://archiveofourown.org/works/42940200/chapters/107881455
I really flexed my understanding of newspapers and i love CREEM, so ofc I had to make an alternate universe version of the magazine to fit my AU of Zeppelin! Cheers and Dark Tidings.🎸👹 (this may be the best thing ive ever made)

[Fanservant] Pan-Human-History Fairy King Oberon
Tumblr media
PHH Fairy King Oberon
Class: Ruler
PROFILE
Default:
The great fairy king and the ruler of the Seelie court. Different from his Lostbelt counterpart who was born as a doomsday terminal, this fairy king lives just to enjoy life and be happy.
Although he was born as the elven king Alberich from the Germanic folklore Nibelungenlied, as time progresses, he has incarnated into a more famous portrayal from Shakespeare's "Midsummer Night Dream". He loves fame and attention, he doesn't mind shedding his old shell to become a more resplendent butterfly.
He is very capable in combat and holds a great strength, capable of controlling the nature and weather even from a change of mood. Because of his overwhelming strength, he's used to toying with his enemies and underestimating them. He prefers to summon his fae servants to fight for him while he watches from a fair distance with a benevolent (cruel) smile.
Tumblr media
Bond 1:
Height/Weight: 183cm, 60kg (not counting antlers)
Origin: Germanic folklore, medieval European literature
Region: Britain (formerly), Avalon
Alignment: Chaotic-Neutral
Gender: Male
"My my, dearest, pray tell, why are you staring at me with that innocent, doe-eyed eyes look of yours... are you that astonished at how different I am to that pathetic, washed-out mimicry?
As expected, not a single being in any realm could come close to my greatness after all. Of course, there's a limit to what playing pretend could do... Now, come sit beside me. I would love to hear what you think of me."
A flirty, unrestrained, and outgoing monarch. Oberon has gathered a lot of lovers from varying races in his lifetime, and he's still open into adding more to his harem.
Tumblr media
Bond 2:
While he loves gathering beautiful people for himself, he also takes great enjoyment in playing matchmaker and seeing other people's relationship develop, for the best or the worst.
A complete opposite from his other self who appreciates and finds value in everything, this Oberon does not bother attaching meaning in anything he chases. He doesn't view relationships and connections as something that should be cherished, for in the infamous Shakespearian play, his wife has proven to still love him no matter what he does.
He has a great many desires but his motives seem to be empty and short-sighted. As seen in the play, he gave his queen, Titania, a love potion to prank her without thinking much of what will happen after its effects wore off. He received no consequences for his actions and the story eventually brushed aside the quarrel that they had, further enabling his behavior. To him, there never seemed to be a problem that came his way or a moment in the story that criticized his faulty mindset.
His appetite for the world is unquenchable, as he views everything in it as worthy of enjoyment. He seeks to collect everything that shines before his eyes, yet as his collection grows, so does his dissatisfaction. What motives he has to obtain them are but a momentary fancy, but due to his own frivolous nature, he's fundamentally incapable of realizing and fulfilling his desire for a genuine attachment
Oberon lives as any pan-human history fairies will do, living life as he pleases.
Tumblr media
Bond 3:
Being one of the great-father of the fae realm, Oberon, who came from the inner sea of the planet and has no connection with human civilization, is very connected to nature.
This can be seen with his appearance, a large beautiful antlers that attracts birds and insects to land on it, and legs resembling a stag. his outfit and a flowery cloak that is magically created by his fae servants. He’s adorned with jewelries from humans who gave him offering as a way to pass his territory safely. In some legend his pearls are made out of maiden’s tears.
with a face that is blessed to be forever beautiful, he is a king that is fitting to rule the fae realm.
Without his beloved queen Titania to accompany him, he took in her role and personality. He developed more gentle, nurturing, almost motherly role to the fairies around him.
As long there’s nature around him, he could give birth to new fairies on a whim using little bit of mana from his Fairy Patterns. He sires many children from that method of reproduction alone but he also took enjoyment in creating them with others. Such as his consorts and random human maidens.
In some legends he have another famous fairy queen besides Titania, named queen Mab
Bond 4:
Oberon was horrified and amused upon finding out about his other self. A pretend prince in rags and naught a kingdom to speak of. A solitary, spineless insect who is content to forever stare at the star above him instead of dragging it down for himself.
Oberon can't wrap his mind on the way his other self sees the world, and while he agrees that stories should not be forgotten, he thinks they should rightfully be enjoyed forever, else they don't qualify as something interesting. In that case, they might as well be obsolete in his eyes.
In the end he took great enjoyment in observing his other self, and wouldn't even mind extending his affections toward him.
After all, he is still his beloved's master compatriot.
Bond 5:
Though his favor is true in a sense, his seeming infatuation with the Chaldean master urges him to act as though he's madly in love with them. In truth, he initially sees them as a form of entertainment, something to satisfy his curiosity and burgeoning envy as to why his other self-took so much liking towards them.
His yearning for the fictitious Titania might perhaps be even stronger than that of Oberon Vortigern's, for he sees Titania as his rightful wife in the myth, unlike Oberon Vortigern who is simply a pretender. As time goes on, his desperation to have a genuine affection for his master grows, leading him to question why their relationship with his other self seems to flourish more than it does with him. He's failed to understand that his connection with his master is fundamentally different, as the relationship between his other self and the Chaldean master have been forged through a long journey together in Lostbelt Britain.
Despite his strong longing for a true love, he doesn't put much effort in trying to find it nor is his attachment to that desire strong enough to make him hate Pan Human History.
"After all, the world is a beautiful place filled with enjoyment, what would be the point in destroying such things?"
The world is but a playground to him, in the end.
big thanks to my friend @lamunana who helps me brainstorm his lore, write her own ideas and even fix my grammar!

It's nearing the end of February, Black History Month, so we're presenting a handful of articles for characters played or voiced by black actors. This is not a complete list but a small selection featuring our best articles:
Shakäste, played by Khary Payton. Under the name Hush, he is a member of the Golden Grin, a secret organization and community that pursues ideals of freedom and justice.
Reani, played by Mica Burton. She makes sure that evil dies in Uthodurn as the not-so-anonymous Ivae'ess, the Lightbringer, and with the advice of her aasimar guide Samliel.
Laerryn Coramar-Seelie, played by Aabria Iyengar. Laerryn is the Heirophant Abjura of the Abjuration Guild and Architect Arcane of Avalir. She built the Astral Leywright so that Avalir may travel to other planes—and ultimately used it to scatter two primordials across known existence, mitigating the worst of the Calamity.
Nydas Okiro, played by Lou Wilson. Nydas is a man of many things: former pirate, designer of automata, Guildmaster of the Golden Scythe, last Dragon of Avalir, member of the Ring of Brass, a friend, a dreamer.
Jarett Howarth, voiced by Eugene Byrd. In Critical Role, he was head of the guard at Greyskull Keep, now an officer in the Pale Guard of Whitestone. In The Legend of Vox Machina, he is a captain of the guard for the city of Emon.
Devana Vessar, voiced by Toks Olagundoye. Devana is a Syngornian cartographer married to Syldor Vessar. She is the mother of Velora and the stepmother to Vax'ildan and Vex'ahlia.
Salda Tal'Dorei, voiced by Cree Summer (who also voiced Raishan). Salda is the wife of Uriel Tal'Dorei and was Empress of Tal'Dorei until her husband abdicated the throne.
Most of all, we encourage you to support organizations working toward racial equality and the improvement of black lives in the United States, such as the NAACP or the NAACP Legal Defense Fund, Southern Poverty Law Center, the Equal Justice Initiative, the Center for Black Equity, or another organization of your preference local to your area or in your country.

I wanted to collect my thoughts on the newly released book Perinheri, focusing on the usual overlooked suspects such as Kaeya, the Seelie and the connection to Princess Fischl.
Tumblr media
TL;DR: Kaeya is (probably?) not cursed because he's half-Seelie
I strongly recommend reading the book first, which you can buy in Fontaine's book shop. Link to the official website here.
Perinheri is "based on a legendary story known throughout Khaenri'ah, but there are none left who can verify this." Ok, first of all, Kaeya and Zhongli are right there, you even put their names in the book!! Second of all, Khaenri'ah is only ever referred to as the "Kingdom" throughout the rest of the story. 🤨 Most likely because it went by a different name back then.
I think most people are aware this book is probably connected to Arlecchino because of her constellation Ignis Purgatorius which is Latin for Cleansing Fire. In the book, the titular Perinheri is made to crawl through a dark corridor filled with ash. He is pulled out of the other side, "reborn".
This fits with depictions of Purgatory:
The faithful dead go through the furnace and once purified ascend towards Heaven. Some of the faithful are plucked by angels, the result of intercessory prayers.
That being said, I don't really want to dig into the Arlecchino connection too much, since we'll find out what her deal is in a few weeks anyway, and with story spoilers running rampant, it won't be much fun anymore.😮‍💨
FALLEN SEELIE
But isn't it fascinating how one of the characters' name is Angelica who guided Perinheri out of a subterranean realm?
Kaeya has connections to the Seelie who are equated to angels in the game. Brief summary here, but the meat of it is that Kaeya most likely has Seelie roots and Nabu Malikata's last name can mean "angels" plural in Arabic. This wordplay tells us Angelica is without a doubt a Seelie, or at the very least someone belonging to the angel category. (The Jinn, for example, are descendants of the Seelie.)
What's funny is that Kaeya owns a book called The Adventures of Angelos, that he deliberately showed to the Traveler. Dude has been dropping hints since the very beginning! It's almost as if he's important to the plot or something.
Perinheri reveals the curse laid on Khaenri'ah is not unique to them and affects those who have forsaken or betrayed their god. There are a few other instances in Teyvat's history that have people turning into beasts, but no further information was given which made it hard to tell how it was connected to the curse of the Cataclysm.
Ukko, the last survivor of the fall of Sal Vindagnyr, was turned into a Frostarm Lawachurl. His final recorded words were of him asking for the destruction of the world as a last middle finger to the gods.
Didn't work.
Shiruyeh, Liloupar's grandson, fell into the abyss thanks to the behated lamp's machinations, and brought back a plague to Gurabad, which turned his people into wild creatures without faces.
Something interesting is that one of the six sins of the Akademiya is to revere gods without acts of devotion. Perhaps the other sins are connected to the conditions of the curse as well:
Cyno's Character Story 5 To prevent researchers from being devastated by their own knowledge, the sages laid out six cardinal sins. They held that all the crimes in this world derive from these six sins. The first is to interfere with human evolution; The second is to tamper with life and death; The third is to delve beyond the universe; The fourth is to investigate the origin of words; The fifth is to revere gods without acts of devotion; The sixth is to attempt the forbidden and fear none.
According to Angelica, the "pure-blooded" (for lack of better word) aristocracy of the Kingdom persists because any offspring they have with those who forsook their god will be affected by the curse as soon as they venture outside.
The witch, Angelica, explained thus: "Hleobrant is the descendant of those who forsook their god and came to the Kingdom. This is why the Kingdom's obstinately pure-blooded aristocracy persists. This is the price of betraying your own god."
The implication here is that the Kingdom seems to be protecting its people within its borders. Those who have come from another world like Perinheri are also curse free.
Angelica herself is not affected by any curse. It's hard to say if she was telling the truth here but she claims to have come from a nation that was defeated by Zhongli. Keep in mind, it's possible that she was only saying this to cast herself in a more favorable light by disguising herself as a fellow god-hater.
Whatever the case, since Angelica is most likely a Seelie, who were cast down by the heavens for reasons unknown, we have to analyze her words a bit more carefully.
The Seelie were also cursed after all.
Arama: Seelies are just empty husks that race left behind. This is because they were born with a curse: If they fall in love with Nara, they shall lose their intelligence and strength, and their bodies will regress.
Explains why Angelica led Hleobrant on and to his demise. Not unlike a certain other Seelikata we know.
Angelica: As for you, Perinheri, you are one who drifted there. Thus, you bear no such curse. You may not have the nobility to shoulder a world, but you too have your own destiny. And as for me? I betrayed no one, not for a moment, until my god died, so I too bear this curse not. But you now see who I truly am, yes?
"Until my god died." If Angelica is a Seelie, then who would her god be? Istaroth? A moon sister? Both? Something to think about…
As for why Angelica did all of that...No idea. Maybe she was just being a little silly. Haha, get it? Because Seelie means silly. But guiding people with a promise of a reward only to lead them into a trap sounds eerily similar to what Kaeya did in his story quest... and in the manga.
It's because he's silly 😂!
ANGELS GEORG
How exactly Kaeya is connected to Seelie is unknown but the character of Kaeya is partly based on Hagen/Högni who is himself half-human/half-dwarf or half-elf. If Kaeya is also half-human then mayhaps the other half could be Seelie.
If Kaeya is half-Seelie, it would explain why he isn't cursed: Angelica. Angelica never betrayed her god. If Kaeya's "pure-blood" father, had a child with a Seelie who never betrayed their god, then maybe the curse wouldn't transfer to Kaeya. This is just one suggestion because we have no idea why the curse gives immortality to pure-blood Khaenri'ahns and if it can be passed on or not.
(As an aside, Kaeya's father is most likely cursed. Kaeya said his hand writing was atrocious, which implies his hands were losing dexterity like Chlothar's.)
I'm aware of the technicalities and the plotholes here such as "uhhh aren't Seelie all empty husks" and "don't they regress if they fall in love"?? Well, we know at least there were survivors out there, meaning there might be loopholes. Columbina, Nabu Malikata, and maybe even Nicole are all characters who weren't husked to floating eye state.
And of course there is Angelica, whose name I joked about being Kaeya's mom's name long before this stupid book came out. 😮‍💨 RUNNING OUT OF IDEAS, ARE WE, HOYOVERSE EMPLOYEE READING MY BLOG
(It could also be that Kaeya's mom was a descendant (Jinni) or scion of the Seelie instead, which I have talked more about here.)
Another alternative is that he's something akin to Perinheri: a child who drifted from some destroyed world. This doesn't seem likely though. Kaeya has the patented star shaped pupils that are more prominent in official art than in the game.
I will say however, that Kaeya's pupils are very different from other Khaenri'ahns such as Dain, Halfdan and Clothar. His pupils are similar to Pierro's which are also "solid". Maybe Pierro is in a similar situation as Kaeya.
Kaeya is in part based on the changeling prince from Midsummer Night's Dream. Changeling in this context means a human child raised by fairies... The title of the Harbingers' trailer, Winter Night's Lazzo, is probably a nod to this play…
In Scottish folklore, the Seelie have a darker counterpart: the Unseelie. Unseelie haven't been mentioned in the game yet, but it's likely they do exist. Perhaps they're the fallen angels, abyssal creatures or even the pure-blood Khaenri'ahns. It's hard to say without more information.
The Seelie Court is ruled by Titania, the Fairy Queen from Midsummer Night's Dream. While the Unseelie Court is their cold, somber counterpart, described as a winter's night...
Fischl's princess outfit is called Immernachtstraum which is also a nod to Midsummer Night's Dream. It's like Fischl and Kaeya belong to the Seelie, also known as the Summer Court, while the Tsaritsa belongs to the Unseelie, the Winter Court.
Getting off track here, but whatever's going on with Kaeya is connected to Princess Fischl and it's difficult to talk about either of them without acknowledging their strange bond.
Lastly,
Kaeya's Character Story 4 Sinister thoughts flashed through Kaeya's mind, and he simply smirked: "This world is truly… fascinating."
Why say world, why!? He just had to throw that in to confuse us even more!
Recently I found out that Kaeya took the traveler to the nameless island on his birthday. No one would go to such lengths if the place wasn't important to them. This island has a ravaged moon-or sundial belonging to the God of Time. The platform on the island can also be found in two places in Dragonspine; the Mural Room and the Secret Room. What the purpose of these things are is unclear, (my guess is elevators), but the Mural Room just so happens to have a painting of a giant angel on it.
The fact that the island is shrouded in mist, hidden from the map, implies someone very powerful brought Kaeya and his father to Mondstadt. If Kaeya's mom was a Seelie then perhaps she was the one who brought them above ground. I can also see a scenario in which a fellow brethren of hers might have helped out.
Such as, I don't know, someone with connections to the Seelie and Dawn Winery. Like Nicole or Columbina, who just so happens to be part of the Fatui… Someone must have given Crepus that delusion after all. 🤷🏽‍♀️
(Venti was taking a power nap at the time, so it can't be him.)
IMMERNACHTREICH
A while back I proposed Fischl might have been a ruler of Khaenri'ah. And now Perinheri has dropped more crumbs unto our laps.
Princess Fischl is the ruler of the Immernachtreich, which is appointed as the future realm of Fischl. This is an important distinction because it means this Realm wasn't always hers. The Immernachtreich is described as an otherworldly place where everything will eventually flow into.
Mitternachts Waltz Everything in this world must pass through the doorway of their destruction unto the future kingdom of the Prinzessin. In the silence of her pitch-dark Nachtgarten would they find a place to slumber.
Flowers for Princess Fischl: Phantasmagoria Every good, bright and noble thing must eventually fall to inexorable entropic destruction, and the final destination of the universe is the realm-in-waiting of the Prinzessin, Immernachtreich.
More About Fischl: To condemn the guilty, to sanctify the just, and to draw all castaway dreams into the embrace of the infinite Immernachtreich.
Something about that sounds familiar!
Perinheri Vol 1 Due to the Kingdom's unique position, things from outside this world were always leaking into it. The Kingdom's weapons would wipe out the calamities slipping in, but what of all the other objects? Such as, say, a child who may have come from some destroyed world?
A child from a destroyed world leaking into an underground Kingdom and the Immernachtreich, another subterranean realm, the doorway of their destruction.
Both realms are welcoming to castaways.
The annoying thing is that it's unclear if Khaenri'ah is the same as the Immernachtreich since Fischl describes her Kingdom as a "small and forbidden paradise". Perhaps Fischl created a subset within the underground realm that kept people safe. At least for a while.
She did after all create a Sommernachtgarten, or Summer Night Garden, that is referenced in the domain Midsummer Courtyard. See, I didn't just mention the Seelie Summer Courts for no reason; Fischl might've been the princess of the Seelie/Angels. But there's little else to corroborate that other than the wings on her back and the Seelie like emblem on her waist...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Anyway, Fischl can see the threads of fate and has seen the causality of worlds too numerous to count. As we all know, she created another universe and founded paradise. This other universe might be a new branch that split off from the parent timeline.
In other words a parallel universe.
These branches are referenced in the description for Mitternachts Waltz, so I'm not just pulling this out of my ass.
Even the branch of the tree of time upon which the great and glorious Reman Republic nested would be cut off in the end, such that the nation founded by the other twin child of the wolves might rule.
Perhaps this is also what Perinheri's world was. Maybe the various destroyed worlds were branches that got cut off...
Another interesting similarity is that Fischl ran into a bunch of fate-resisting royals who devolved into beasts after denying her status....
Flowers for Princess Fischl (I): End Time Zersetzung When the lone pilgrimaging princess reached the kingdom of eternal twilight, the fate-resisting royals chose to deny everything in their desperation. They refused to recognize Fischl's noble stature and mission as the princess of the Immernachtreich; denied their 13,000-year lineage as a branch of the royal family; and forsook their own nobility and restraints as humans… devolving into clumsy and vicious beasts.
Huh, it's just like Angelica said 🤷🏽‍♀️. Kingdom of Eternal Twilight might be the "Kingdom" from Perinheri and the fate-resisting royals is code for those who forsook their gods. However, Fischl wasn't without sympathy and took it on herself to protect the Immernachtreich.
Narrator: The Prinzessin harbored much sympathy for all living things, and wished to never see them in pain. She harnessed the power of darkness and dreams to weave the night, and gave it the task to safeguard all living things. The people celebrated and worshiped the Prinzessin's authority, and followed her call to migrate to the sacred land that would eventually be known as the Immernachtreich. We established a nation on the Holy Land, revered the Prinzessin as The Absolute One, and introduced poetry, theater, and adventure to the Kingdom, laying the groundwork for the Immernachtreich.
One final stray thought:
That giant crying left eye on the cover may or may not be the same as Fischl's left Auge der Verurteilung, which caused her great agony due to its ability to pierce through the heart of all truths.
It could also be Fischl's enemy, the World Beast, a night-patrolling beast named "World", who casts a greedy eye on all dreams...
Perinheri The crimson moon, hanging high in the pitch-dark night sky, suddenly turned around, revealing itself to be a titanic, horrified eye.
About Us: Shooting Down the World Beast You seem to be troubled...? Oh traveler, you need not be perplexed. With my left eye, this "Auge der Verurteilung" that penetrates the threads of karma, I keep watch over your fate; with Oz's crow-eyes that have witnessed the nirvana of a thousand worlds, he observes your way forward. If the ferocious night-patrolling beast named "World" casts a greedy eye on your dream, then I will shoot it down with my Magic Arrow of Holy Retribution!

I don't really do the whole soul-cutting thing but I guess what I do would look the same...
As you know as a Fae I can steal names, I can also make names, give names, or destroy names but that last one is forbidden nowadays
Thus I have lots of names, and each names have its own life, personality, history, appearance etc...
It can be very confusing sometimes to shift from being say, a bee to a grandpa you know...
My favorite is no name! Nothing like being an empty whisper floating in the void! Not being perceived is just, nice! :D
On another note, we CAN interact with the world without getting a smiley face engraved in our hand but we could get put in time out if we abuse it like...
*give a little push on Scar's head in a way that hopefully feels like a head pat*
Very curious about that soul magic tho! :D
-Fae
Scar: Fae magics is one of the most interesting kinds!
Pearl: Isn't Stress a fae? I never seen her do that kind of magic...
Scar: She doesn't... She is pretty unusual by fae standards. She is in the seelie court but she isn't aligned with any season, unlike most faes.
Pearl: Isn't she a spring fae? With all the flowers?
Scar: You didn't see her as the ice queen right...you weren't in season 6...
Pearl: Wait, Fae, what seasons fae are you?

so @erch0maii said in a post that i didn’t want to hijack that the reason that both screen adaptations of tmi didn’t feel quite right is because they were these dark gritty adaptations while the books are, at heart, campy and silly and comical. and i was thinking about this and how it relates to the other series in the tsc canon. when i first read tsc i thought that the reason they felt tmi felt different from tid, tda, and tlh is because they were her first books but it really all comes down to the character’s sense of humor and genre awareness. because all the other tsc series (and i’m betting twp too) take themselves so seriously, but timi doesn’t do that.
with genre awareness, the characters are put in this dark edgy fantasy war series but they act like their in a satire or a comedy. my favorite parts of qoaad were when jace and clary were in these dangerous situations and were acting so nonchalant about it. and it wasn’t even like a fake confidence or something, they genuinely just are Like That. like at the war council they walked in casually with normal clothes and people didn’t even notice them until lily called them out. like, they could have changed, they could have made a big entrance, but no, why bother. and later in brocelind when manuel rips out the tent and they’re playing tic tac toe. they don’t acknowledge him at all, not even to make a joke about him ruining the tents they borrowed. they just sit there playing tic tac toe. and again on the imperishable fields, jace has a knife to manuel’s back and clary is holding the stanchion but emma describes them as walking as if they’re out for a morning stroll.
and like look at the parallels between the series. the tlh crew met one and a half princes of hell and barely made it out with their sanity. the tmi gang has collectively met 3 princes of hell and in literally every situation they’re on the same level. when emma and julian went to thule it was this dark scary traumatizing thing, this actual hell that wasn’t quite hell. and when james, matthew, lucie, and cordelia went to edom it was this terrible experience that both lucie and matthew spent literally dying. but when the tmi gang went to hell, what ever. yeah it was serious and traumatic and scarring but not in the same way. izzy and simon hooked up. clary and jace had sex. and alec made fun of all four of them for it after. jace got caught by a demon and clary scolded him like he left the fridge open. they literally snuck into sebastian’s elite fortress with a plan from simon’s dnd campaign. and diyu?  even when simon was having a mental breakdown he managed to flirt with izzy it took the tlh gang 3 long-ass books to defeat belial and christopher died in the process. the tmi gang beat sammael in a f*cking side book. if you go to the shadowhunter wiki and go to azazel’s history he’s said as being a part of team good. imagine how casual you have to be to get a prince of hell to join ‘team good’
and then there’s the angels. tessa’s contact with ithuriel almost killed her. emma and julian’s whole nephilim thing also almost killed them. and yeah, clary’s first encounter with raziel was very somber and serious. but in cols simon literally blackmailed raziel into giving him a magical sword. and with faerie, every encounter that the tda gang have with faeries or in faerie is this dangerous quest that could get everybody killed. the tmi gang don’t hesitaste to insult the seelie queen to her face
the thing that sets tmi apart from the rest of tsc is the characters’ refusal to take anything, themselves and everyone around them, seriously for very long

Welcome to the WWE: World Wizard Entertainment
(Somebody get Vince McSam on the phone.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Because I am a being of chaos and a chronic waster of time, I have put together a hopefully fun bracket of wizard match-ups! And let's be honest: my entire brand is putting wizards in situations.
For round one, I will be staggering polls throughout the day starting on Sunday, February 19th at 8am PST. Each round will run for a day, and the next round will commence once the final poll of the previous round has finished, at which point I will also post an updated bracket.
You can find all polls on my blog under the tag #world wizard entertainment.
A few notes:
These are wizards, and only wizards, hence why Gilmore is absent. Had I included him, it felt like a slippery slope to having to include a lot of other characters, and I simply did not want to deal.
There are some wizards absent. I do not take criticism on who was left out.
But on that note:
Vecna is absent for being first and foremost a demigod.
Raishan is absent for being first and foremost an ancient fucking dragon.
Vespin Chloras was included despite being a fiend during his time on screen because he is generally known as the most infamous wizard in history, and because I think it's funny.
Jenna Iresor was also included despite never making an on-screen appearance because she is the funniest member of the Cerberus Assembly, and I love her.
Lacrytia Hollow was, to my greatest regret, forgotten—I had decided to add her but failed to notice that I hadn't done so until far too late. But there are some great girlbosses on here already, so we move forward.
Also, on the topic of titles, I did include all current or most recent titles. You will notice that those who are alive but have vacated their positions, willingly or otherwise, are noted as "former."
Any wizards who were killed in the line of duty retain their titles. Lady Briarwood, Madam Archmage DeRogna—I'm not sure what you were working in duty to, but we salute you.
All first round match-ups are as follows; I'll add links to them as I am able, but I will be out or playing my own D&D wizard for most of Sunday. (Tumblr has also tried to eat this post multiple times, so I may discover that the editor refuses to allow me to edit it once it is posted, in which case, rip in pieces, and please check the tag linked above.)

loquatius seelie was really out here being like “i would rewrite history for you. i’d make very unsubtle metaphors about two cities that represent us on live broadcast for you. i’d shout you out by name in that very same broadcast and call you the most beautiful woman in existence. i’d propose marriage to you while the world ended. i’d give you a feather” huh?

a lot of y'all. Are very eager. To give me, The Seelie Court Official, a very detailed medical history. In the notes of my posts. Perhaps. One should rethink that.
