you know anfortas, our best friend anfortas alberich, the regent king of khaenri'ah whose fate remains a mystery? anfortas is the name of the fisher king in arthurian legends, the one who guarded the holy grail.
apparently t.s. eliot wrote a poem titled the waste land that combines the legend of the holy grail and the fisher king. what caught my eye here is the footnote he made:
The Man with Three Staves (an authentic member of the Tarot pack) I associate, quite arbitrarily, with the Fisher King himself.

Ok the stuff I planned to do previously is gonna have to wait since I actually remembered to move the image over, but basically-
Byte has a new, (somewhat) original design by @atlasmothss ! (with heavy inspirations from a creature in the singular Roblox game I play)
Instead of being purely void with a very large dress, they have much lighter clothes that actually have separate colors from the body! They also have some eyespots on their wings for intimidation, with the top ones being able to seemingly "focus" on someone. (gotta make sure puralin stays fearful /j)
As for that inspiration, the main body, clothes, ears, and halo all take inspiration from my skin that I use on Aizune (Violet) in Monsters of Etheria, which is oddly enough also important to the origins of Byte, as well as Pixel and Terri who are all VERY connected to each other.
Once again, thank you @atlasmothss for the design, and for dealing with me being completely unable to describe things well without outright showing what I mean!
#pixels lore#also a fun little fact about Byte: even before the redesign they were EXTREMELY soft and fluffy#you couldn't see it thanks to the dress the void color and the fur being smoothed out but it would feel amazing to touch#unfortunately byte would immediately lose their collision on instinct so you wouldn't be able to actually feel anything

Okay so I'm making a list of the Admins we have so far,, this'll probably be updated as time goes on and suggestions are always welcome!
Abyssal - mentioned by the anon I was talking with in Proceed to Overwrite asks (actually like everyone BUT Forum&Domain were pulled from that au,,, WHOOPS). Probably handles more clean-up aspects and does damage control
Cluster - handles ascending Guardians to Admins (in basically everything expect for when he gets booted in Proceed to Overwrite)
Umbra - handles the more political affairs, assigns Admims their jobs
Buffer - not sure on a name for this one yet, but it handles more of the communication aspects from the vibe I'm getting, a lot more loose than other Admins
Forum & Domain - ofc not as powerful as other Admins, but definitely being looked at and considered for being promoted at some point (nepotism from the admin who made them when they were prototypes? Maybe!)
Ping - also not sure of a name yet, but it probably does blocking and unblocking commands, maybe even creating them
Lag - (belongs to Duckapus) assigned to doing maintenance because of his lazy attitude, but this due to the fact that he used to be SMG0's and Niles Admin..
Crash - handles demotions, reviewing others and keeping check of their progress
Byte - creator of SMG-1/Domain and SMG-2/Forum, does basic things like looking over the SMG program and helping maintain it (one of the nastiest admins)
CPU - probably does stuff like managing punishments for other Higher-Ups? Getting a very "done with everyone's bullshit" vibe tbh
Manifest - (belong to Duckapus) head desk clerk (? I think?) of the Adminspace
Antivirus - handles dealing with, demoting, punishing and all that stuff with Admins
Cookie - disgraced Admin currently imprisoned in an old office-turned-prison cell. Utterly obsessed with Byte and used to help with organizing code before she was imprisoned

I saw on your OC info post that Byte was childhood friends with Smithy- is that the same Smithy that was one of the OG Diamond Cutters? :0 That might make some interesting drama between themself and Whisper if it came to light, if only for a bit.

Yeah! It's the same Smithy the Lion from the Diamond Cutters!
Byte and Smithy used to hang out all the time when they were kids, sharing ideas, building stuff together, etc. But when Byte was in their late teens they told Smithy about their idea to ran from home and join the Eggman Empire, which Smithy disliked and tried to convince Byte not to do so, but that ended in a discussion that broke their friendship
Byte ran away and joined the Empire, while Smithy joined the Diamond Cutters years later
None of the Diamond Cutters members were aware of that, so they died without knowing about Byte (Except for Whisper), but Byte knew about them and was affected by their dead when they witnessed it through the base's cameras, bcus even if they were a nuisance for the Empire and Byte felt "let down" by Smithy, they still didn't want him to die
I was planning that during the entire ordeal post issue 50, Byte got to see the new Diamond Cutters in Eggperial City while they collected implements to save Starline's life, thing that were going to give them a huge resentment and dislike against Tangle and Lanolin for "replacing" Smithy and the others, but since things went differently in the arc than I expected I discarded that last part kjsdhjask
we'll see how I can implement again that idea in the future 👀✨

Some Welony Stuff
-Since she didn't have an elaborate backstory like Melony did, her Melon form wasn't alive, so she has some of Majora's memories instead
-Really likes eating fruit, especially bananas
-Always has snacks on her so she can keep her hunger bar full
-Prone to bouts of insomnia
-Is trying to figure out how to switch to Creative Mode so she can use the full extent of her abilities, as a side project
-At some point managed to take over the Yiga Clan. Apparently they worship Ganon less because they like him and more because they hate Link, so they worship the other LoZ main villains too.
-Has multiple demons who owe her favors, most of them due to her inheriting the contracts from Majora, though there are a few she earned herself
-Considers Byte a useful annoyance in his current state, but lets him think he's either an equal partner or calling the shots depending on which one keeps him loyal
-Likes chickens just as much as her "father," Steve, and has a swarm of trained attack Cuccos she's personally raised from eggs. She has named all of them and can effortlessly tell which is which

I don't know if you see any Dead by Daylight stuff, but there's this new survivor, Vittorio Toscano, who's very 👀😳👀😳
Plus there's a new killer that's called The Knight in the same chapter.
I am so happy with the new chapter, some friends were sending me all about the new immortal dilf there BUT the knight (who yes needs a haircut.) The knight is just as cool and interesting, and knowing that these two are connected by story (not blood) is really cool. If I wasn't a coward, and had someone hold my hand I would play dead by daylight cause I do have it xD.

(Another) fun fact about Byte, some of the games I play where I name myself "Byte" is canon to their lore in some way, with the biggest example being Celeste
Things brings up a funny scenario since I just beat Nameless Deity as a Terraria character named Byte so I could make that canon (however that means theyd canonically have a scarlet devil which is honestly terrifying when you see the damage it deals)
