So, my weekly update posts were kind of stressing me out and I've decided that I need to change some things in my writing routine, if I want to make it to the end of the year *without* burning out.
Le sigh.
So! Here's attempt No. 1~!
This week, I'm trying to wrap up all the monthly Patreon posts that were thrown off schedule when I was scrambling to get the 120th chapter of TBDH finished/posted.
BTR (Beyond this Realm)'s chapter went up on Patreon last night and today, I'm working on Fractalian!

[[public demo out June 14th, 2024]] | patreon
someone is after you.
for over a decade and a half now, you’ve traveled up, down and across the country--running schemes and hunting fiends with your mentor, con-man-by-day, vampire-hunter-by-night, Wyatt Abrams--the prolific vampire slayer and the living descendant of Gregory Abrams, founder and prophet of the Abrams Family, the nomadic vampire-hunting cult that raised you--and was wiped out years ago.
carrying the abrams name means also means carrying on it's enemies--but that isn't to say you haven't forged a couple of your own along the way. now, it seems someone is trying to make good on old threats and promises. they've placed a bounty on your head.
so you and wyatt do what you do best: you run away. to some little town, out nevada ways, where the title of town preacher is unexpectedly thrust upon you--bringing back years of trauma you thought long tucked away.
as if that wasn't enough, on your first day in town the local mine up and explodes--leaving the reclusive family that runs the town--and owns the mine--to suspect you as the main culprit.
now you're left with the responsibility of investigating the disaster to clear your name, looking into the mysterious cult just south of town, the gang of outlaws who've been wrapped up deep in a feud with larkin's patriarchal family--a group of people which you suspect to be hiding a secret most monstrous--all while dealing with the ghosts of your past, and the roots your family left behind.
Tumblr media
larkin is a vampire western choose-your-own adventure game, with focuses on romance, religion, horror and complicated family dynamics.
play a fully customizable character [[decide upon their physical appearance, gender identity, sexuality, customize their pronouns]]
dictate a unique relationship with your mentor-turned-father-figure and his former appentice
romance any of ten characters, four male, three female, one non-binary and two gender selectable characters.
define your characters skillset and scheming tactics, select their weapons and fighting style, elect their feelings on religion, vampires and the cult that raised them.
Tumblr media
the doctor [male] cyrus sokolov - the quasi-mayor of larkin, cyrus sokolov also operates as the town's doctor and mortician. he's immeadiately suspicious of you, the new preacher and the reputation you comes with. even though he doesn't like it, he needs your help.
the princess [female] celina sokolova - despite the misconceptions among the townsfolk, the reclusive third sibling of the sokolov family, celina, is actually the family’s eldest. hardly leaving the sokolov mansion, it’s rumored around town that she’s been struck with some sort of sun-related illness, others seem to hold the opinion that miss sokolova simply sees herself as too good to linger amongst the common folk. whatever the case may truly be doesn’t much matter to the people of larkin, after all, it's much more fun to gossip. she's very suddenly developed a fascination with the preacher, a hunger almost. but will she eat you whole?
the mortician's assistant [male] dominic sokolov - the youngest scion of the sokolov family, dominic works as assistant mortician in larkin, though he’s much more interested in larkin’s living townsfolk then the dead ones he’s been charged with taking care of. with seemingly endless information on everyone and everything that goes on in larkin, mister sokolov might not be the worst friend to have.
the lawyer [male] jacob nash -  larkin’s only practicing attorney and resident do-gooder. after passing the bar exam, nash headed out west in the hopes of making a real difference for the people there, only to spend most of his days settling petty disputes and notarizing documents. despite his disappointment, however, nash has managed to keep a level head and his fondness for the people of larkin, even though he’s not so sure the sokolovs have the townsfolk’s best interest in mind.
the bartender [female] rose holloway - larkin’s most recent transplant, that was, until the preacher showed up. former city-girl, rose has adapted to both life out west and on her own, the only way she knows how--by pushing through it. the owner and bartender of larkin’s only saloon, the emerald, rose is a popular figure around larkin whether she likes it or not, but whether that has more to do with her occupation or the fact she also happens to be larkin’s youngest widow is still a topic up for debate.
the lieutenant [male/female/non-binary] hollis - an enigmatic figure around larkin, hollis serves as a lieutenant for the mysterious rateliff fellowship. one of the cult’s few members to make the long trek from their encampment in the desert to town more than once. talked to by few, hated by most, hollis bears the reputation of the people they represent to the town of larkin--one, that isn’t particularly favorable.
the vampire hunter [male/female/non-binary] ace zhang - vampire-hunting-mercenary extraordinaire, the last the preacher knew of ace, they were the young hot-shot on san francisco’s hunting scene. once upon a time ace was a prominent figure in the preacher’s life, the first real acquaintance they managed to make on their own, someone outside of wyatt’s sphere. growing up a member of the guild, their life is one that’s mirrored the preacher’s. maybe that’s why the two seemed to be linked so closely during the preacher’s time in california, whether that was as friends, rivals or something more, their presence is one that remains prominent in the preacher's mind.
the outlaw [male] cassidy alan ward - cowboy, outlaw, bandit, cassidy goes by many names and titles, but the one he prides himself on most is leader. protector of his people, the ward gang hides out somewhere in the hills outside larkin, looming over the townsfolk as an ever-present threat, cassidy finds the sokolovs personally responsible for the death of his sister, caroline, and he is out for blood.
the gunslinger [female] ethel jackson - cassidy's right hand, ethel is a gunslinger through and through. fancying herself the robinhood type, she's got a personal hatred for the family that looms over larkin.  with the fastest gun in all of nevada, maybe even all of the west--ethel could prove to be a valuable friend--or a deadly adversary.
the stranger [non-binary] reyes - the newest addition to ward's gang, not much is known about them or their past--what everyone is well aware of, however, is the fact that nobody whose ever decided to cross reyes has ever come out of it alive.
the vampire [male/female/non-binary] montero moreau - you've hunted down their coven, debilitating any hopes for growth they had in terms of advancing in the cut-throat world of Vampires. you've made montero look like a fool, and they hate looking like a fool. They're determined to hunt you down and take revenge.
the first man [male] - adam - he believes himself to be the mirrored man mentioned in the abrams family book of genesis--the first vampire, plagued to walk the earth--and he has long been in search of his eve.

Marian’s Ultimate TTRPG Recommendation Post
So I’m sick to fuck of everyone twisting every god damn thing to shove it into dungeons and dragons. This post is as detailed as I can get for alternatives you can seek out, as I’m a big fan of a diverse range of tabletop games.
First, for new players who are easily intimidated by large rulesets, or veterans who just prefer a lightweight system, I highly recommend most apocalypse hacks, white wolf games (despite my opinions on their writing), or just using the fate system. If you’re a fan of KSBD, you could try out the Broken Worlds system (just pledge 1$ to the patreon.) You can also try Exalted if you really enjoy Wuxia, or just take the fate system and build your own world. If you like percy jackson, consider looking at the Scion books. If you like vampires, werewolves and witches, white wolf has you covered on all three.
If you want MORE detail, especially with regards to customization, I would recommend Palladium Fantasy or Rifts. Exhaustive in their lore, both the lore AND the ruleset highly encourage individual customization and building the character YOU want to play. I would also encourage Abaddon’s other works, like Lancer and ICON, lancer for the mech nerds and icon for the epic fantasy nerds.
If there’s any type of IP you really enjoy in the fantasy or sci-fi worlds, there is usually a tabletop RPG! Cyberpunk itself has one, as well as Lord of the Rings (The One Ring ttrpg is what you want to look for), pretty much all Warhammer properties, Star Wars, AND Star Trek all have their own ttrpgs. You just have to look for them.
If superheroes and such are more your thing, both Marvel and DC have made TTRPG systems before, although they’re somewhat outdated now. I’d recommend Champions or Heroes Unlimited for rules-heavy, and Mutants and Masterminds for rules-light.

Leuke Island
Sometimes when you are researching you end up going off the beaten path. This is one of the reasons I love urban fantasy games - the real world is filled with history, myth, and folklore, which is absolutely EVERYWHERE once you start to see it.
While researching the Patreon post on Macaria, I ended up tangenting into the reading about the Blessed Isles on which the ancient Greek dead reside. Unlike the way Planescape and Pathfinder interpret all afterlives as taking place in other dimensions, the ancient Greeks believed at various points in time the Islands were physical places people could travel to (although at other times, they were also part of the Underworld proper). Those islands have been placed everywhere from Sicily, to The Canary Islands, to the Azores, to Bermuda.
So as I’m reading the Wikipedia page on Elysium, I see a bit where Achilles has been linked with an actual island in the Black Sea. I dig this, because I’ve been researching Pontus for a different project and I feel like people underestimate how far north Hellenic culture made it in Eastern Europe. Since I’m on wikipedia, I hover over the link to get a preview of the page and since I saw the Greek name I ignore the title and go straight to the text. Sounds neat, there was a temple, it was a major religious site for Black Sea colonists, and formal worship of Achilles is not something I’ve seen a lot of (albeit, I’m not a classicist).
Then I look at the island’s English name. And I fucking start swearing.
You see, I knew this island. Anyone who’s paying attention to the Ukraine war probably knows this island. Its proper modern name is Zmiinyi, but in English it is often called Snake Island.
Yeah, that’s the island where Ukrainian soldiers told a Russian warship to go fuck itself. That very same tiny little island where a bunch of Ukrainians made their stand against Russian aggression - that was once holy ground for Achilles.
While I definitely have a headcanon about what that island is like in Scion’s World, I’m not about to gamify the conflict in Ukraine because that would be a millions different types of crass. It’s staying firmly inside my brain. But I couldn’t not share this. And I also can’t get the image of Achilles giving a Russian warship the finger out of my head.

Pivoting from studies that emphasize the dominance of progressivism on American college campuses during the late sixties and early seventies, Lauren Lassabe Shepherd positions conservative critiques of, and agendas in, American colleges and universities as an essential dimension of a broader conversation of conservative backlash against liberal education. This book explores the story of how stakeholders in American higher education organized and reacted to challenges to their power from the New Left and Black Power student resistance movements of the late 1960s. By examining the range of conservative student organizations and coalition building, Shepherd shows how wealthy donors and conservative intellectuals trained future GOP leaders such as Karl Rove, Bill Barr, Jeff Sessions, Pat Buchanan, and others in conservative politics, providing them with tactics to consciously drive American politics and culture further to the authoritarian right and to "reclaim" American higher education.
Endorsements
A thoroughly researched, revelatory political history with abundant relevance for today. . . . Shepherd presents compelling evidence for the ways that these groups, although a minority on campus, have exerted long-lasting influence."--Kirkus Reviews (STARRED review) Any organization founded by William F. Buckley and M. Stanton Evans is not going to be supportive of free speech. As historian Lauren Lassabe Shepherd documents in Resistance from the Right, Young Americans for Freedom has been characterized from the start as a group of extremely pampered establishment scions who are prone to both self-pity and deploying their social and legal power to silence their political enemies."--Jeet Heer, The Nation
...
Of relevance to the Jeet Heer quote is this episode of the Know Your Enemy podcast: https://www.patreon.com/posts/legal-trouble-86233400
The lefty co-hosts were sued by the organization f.k.a. Young Americans for Freedom because one of the KYE patreon levels facetiously lists a Young Americans for Freedom sponsorship level.
Tumblr media
I find this pretty funny, but there's zero chance anyone would mistake the Young Americans for Freedom donation to Know Your Enemy - a staunch opponent of much of conservatism - as a donation to the real organization of Young Americans for Freedom (now known as the Young Americans Foundation). Nevertheless, the Young Americans Foundations thought that this unlikely mistake would actually mislead people, and so they sued, and lost for now.
Also of relevance to campus political contestation is this bit of news, one of any number of developments in what appears to be a mounting attack on universities and education more generally by conservative elements who are no doubt in demographic, political and cultural panic about their shrinking influence.
In a report published Tuesday, Mississippi State Auditor Shad White, a Republican, argued that the state should change its approach to funding its public universities. He proposed tying public investment to workforce needs instead of providing funds without regard for the degree programs, as has traditionally been the case. Too many college graduates are leaving Mississippi, and aligning degree programs with labor market demand might stem the tide, White said. In numerous statements on social media leading up to the report's publication, White said there should be no taxpayer funding for “useless degrees" in “garbage fields” like Urban Studies, Anthropology, Sociology, German Literature, African American Studies, Gender Studies and Women's Studies. https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2023/9/23/2194616/-Mississippi-auditor-says-several-college-majors-indoctrinate-students-and-should-be-defunded

The Overflower – Tiny plant, lawful evil
Townsfolk tell stories about strange sightings of orange-toned critters, accompanied by mysterious, seemingly unrelated incidents: Things reappearing in strange places, people gone missing, small livestock gone mad or odd noises coming from the ground. A scholar might quickly draw the conclusion for the sole reason behind all this: An Overflower has set up camp nearby. Equipped with a puzzling mind, this plant-like creature usually plans its dark schemes from a distance. While an Overflower’s motives seem incomprehensible and chaotic, it still follows a strict, yet alien logic, sending in its cohort of mind-controlled scions to execute its evil plans.
🔮If you like my work and are looking for more quirky creatures, kindly consider to support me on patreon to gain access to an ever-growing compendium of tiny monsters and potions based on their lore.

Star Spawn in the 13th Age Part 3
Gibbeth is a cursed green star that some believe has some immensely powerful and unknowable being bound to its core. Several doomsday prophesies surround the star, claiming that Gibbeth will show its true face at the end of the world and that this sight will drive all who see it to madness. Those who study it too closely often seem to be taken over by some otherworldly mind, driving them to violence and destruction, or worse seeking to arrange the circumstances for star spawn to appear on the world.
When one of Gibbeth's scions appear on the world, no two people see it the same way. One may see a green skinned horned giant, another may see a large spider with a red child's face, another may see a serpent with dozens of mouths all over its body. These different shapes are physically impossible to correlate, but all evidence matches the observer's view no matter. Even tracks will appear different to each person viewing them, leading to the idea that each person's interpretation of the scion is their mind protecting them from the true face of the evil star. Seeing past that image, even for but a moment, leads to intense headaches at best and the viewer's mind being lost permanently at worst.
A scion of Gibbeth wanders the world at random, drawing to it those who are susceptible to its power. These worshippers are accepted and allowed to follow, though the scion does nothing to protect them from external threats and only acts in its own defense.
Scion of Gibbeth 8th level spoiler [aberration] Initiative: +12 Slam +13 vs. AC - 30 damage Natural Roll is Above Target’s Wisdom: The scion of Gibbeth can make a mind splintering gaze against the target as a free action [Special Trigger] C: Mind Splintering Gaze +13 vs. MD - 10 psychic damage and the target is confused (save ends) [Special Trigger] C: Gibboth’s Baleful Glare +13 vs. MD (one nearby or far away enemy) - 10 psychic damage and the target moves to a nearby location of the scion’s choice Limited Use: 1/round, as an interrupt action when an enemy attacks the scion with a melee or ranged attack and rolls a natural odd attack roll. Aura of Revulsion: Nearby enemies cannot attack the scion with melee or ranged attacks unless they are engaged with it or there are no other nearby targets. Offering to Gibbeth: When a nearby enemy recovery, the scion gains a +2 bonus to attack rolls until the end of its next turn. AC 23 PD 19 MD 22 HP 140 Nastier Specials [Special Trigger] C: Revelation of Gibbeth +13 vs. MD (all nearby enemies) - The target is dazed and confused (save ends both) Limited Use: 1/battle, when the scion is reduced to 0 hit points.
Building Battles The scion is often followed by a collection of humanoids, giants, and others who have seen its true form in one way or another and were overtaken by Gibbeth's will. Rarely demons, rakshasa, ogre mages or other powerful creatures fall under this sway as well, potentially providing some extra muscle defending the scion.
Scions of Gibbeth and the Icons The Devourer: Ogres and orcs seem to be popular targets for scions of Gibbeth seeking worshippers, relying on the looser structure of their society compared to humans, dwarves, and elves to pick off small communities. Those who fall under the scion's sway follow it, while those who either resist or lose themselves to unstoppable violence are destroyed or left behind to confuse and distract investigators. The Faceless: Is the Faceless actually another sliver of Gibbeth, having grown to the point of knowing to keep itself hidden and building a long term plan behind the scenes? Is the guise of a thief and trickster merely to distract those who would protect the world from the Faceless' true plan, and once the cloak slips away all will see Gibbeth's true face in each coin that's passed through its hands?

The KleskizhAUs and their Poetic Styles
Under read more because lomg
SWTOR Kleskizhae
Ridiculous Sith Juggernaut. Excessively proud of his Sith ancestry but also ridiculously light side and somehow doesn’t see this as a problem. Loves lightsabers, loves the Empire but is a little less clear on whether he likes the Empire as an institution or the Empire as the people, and hint, it’s the people, he’ll pick the people if he had to.
Poetry: ALL CAPS HAIKUS FREE VERSE ASTRONOMY METAPHORS EXTREMELY VIOLENT REFERENCES TO ANCIENT SITH HISTORY BEAUTIFUL WORDS BEATEN STRAIGHT OUT OF HIS HEART OF DARK PASSION
DS!SWTOR Kleskizhae
Ridiculous and awful Sith Juggernaut. Believes himself morally and genetically superior to all others. Delights in toying with his inferiors, especially in breaking their hearts with his charm and facade of kindness.
Poetry: Flowery and romantic and flattering. More or less copies of ancient Sith poems, but with the words changed a bit. They’re mostly for showing off how cultured he is and how much he loves you babe, so he doesn’t put in much effort.
ESO Kleskizhae
Altmer Battlemage. A scion of the Direnni but not on great terms with his family due to his allegiance to the Aldmeri Dominion and his marrying a Bosmer because of Spinner shenanigans. Ambassador of the Queen and definitely not one of her Eyes nosir. Got pressganged into the Buoyant Armigers after impressing Vivec by exemplifying all of hir favorite virtues and vices just by accident.
Poetry: Sonnets. Ballads. Sexually explicit but it’s so purple that you can hardly tell just how sexually explicit it really is. Mostly about his own adventures and the people he knows. Melodramatic as fuck. The stuff he wrote when Vivec specifically was taking an interest in him is his best work, since he starts getting more experimental and tones down the silliness without losing that red hot emotional core that really elevates the verse to something that so many people try and fail to replicate in the future that it’s become its own genre.
DS!ESO Kleskizhae
Altmer Battlemage what dabbles in necromancy. Believes himself the rightful king of all of High Rock with the Bretons as his rebellious subjects. Allied with Mannimarco because he promised him that when Planemeld happened, he could have his ancestral holdings all to himself, with all the people there living only to glorify him. The kinda guy you end up killing in the Daggerfall Covenant quests or in a Balfiera focused dungeon DLC.
Poetry: Pretty similar to light side ESO!Kleskizhae, but if he thinks you didn’t appreciate his work he’ll torture you until you do. Try and critique it and he’ll just plain murder you and raise your corpse to grovel for his forgiveness and admit that you were wrong. Also his poetry is his annoying boss mechanic somehow. Didn’t read the books in his dungeon? Too bad because that’s how you defeat him.
GW2 Klejskizae
Norn Herald. Skald, champion of Wolf, Lightbringer of the Order of Whispers. A Delight unto all people of Tyria! Your new best friend who is not using your friendship with him to learn your secrets! Come and listen to him channel the spirits and the Legends next Dragon Bash!
Poetry: Actually more into prose. Veddas. Stories about heroes, exaggerated for effect. Tales that he keeps in his mind that he tells differently each time he’s asked to tell it, depending on what he thinks his audience needs to hear. The poetry tends to be more personal, often taking the form of prayers to the Spirits that are between him and them. Also will write songs, also about heroes, with calls to action for the Pact.
TES!Specifically Klejskizae
Nord Skaald. Traveling yeller. Delighter of audiences all throughout Tamriel. Follower of the Old Ways. Probably also in the Blades.
Poetry: SCREAMING TAVERN SONGS. Great heroes, sometimes gets kicked out of taverns in Skyrim because he’s performing songs about non-Nord heroes but how can you not be excited by EVERYONE
SWTOR!Specifically Klejskizae
Mandalorian what will scream battle poems in your ear as he faces you in glorious hand to hand combat. Has some very weird ideas of what being Mandalorian is, but they’re closer to reality than his Sith version’s ideas of being Sith.
Poetry: You thought Sith Kleskizhae’s poetry was gory and violent? You haven’t heard Mando Klejskizae. They are ridiculous. Everything ends with lovers embracing for the last time as they die in battle and their death is described in excruciating detail.
FFXIV Kleskizhae
Ishgardian adventurer. Dragoony Bard. Got kicked out for being way too scandalous for the theocracy and for talking too much about how he thought that maybe we should just smooch the Dragons?
Poetry: The poetry isn’t why he’s not liked back in Ishgard, though that poetry was a means to transmit his unpopular and scandalous ideas and activities. The poetry specifically is why he’s distrusted in Gridania after he met an elemental and challenged it to a rap battle and it went very poorly. (Kleskizhae won and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise or that that’s not the point and there is no winning because he definitely won)
West Coast Fallout Klaus K. Zheng
Paladin of the Brotherhood of Steel. Sort of into the whole BoS thing of keeping dangerous tech out of people’s hands but also he’s into protecting people in any way he can, since they must protect those who will inherit the past, yes? That is what we’re doing, right? Right?
Poetry: He found a book of poems about Arthurian legends and they changed his life, as did Grognak the Barbarian which he’s sure is in the same canon. He’s also read a bunch of Shakespeare and only sort of understands it. So yeah, sonnets that are Shakespeare ripoffs. Casting modern topics into medieval terms. Sometimes it’ll get weird and his BoS worldview will come in and make them anachronistic but it’s unintentional because he just wants to write like the knights of yore.
East Coast Fallout Klaus K. Zheng
Enclave soldier, later deserter once he sees that oh shit killing everyone wasn’t supposed to be what they were going to do! He wasn’t listening to the quiet part! Ends up aiding synths because it pisses off the BoS and also saves lives. Still believes in America but it’s one that maybe never existed.
Poetry: The Enclave did preserve a lot of good American literature in their databanks, though they’re kinda sketchy about distributing it to their soldiers since even before 2077 they realized that a lot of the American canon contains like, anti-war, anti-corporate ideas and they couldn’t have that in their new society. He read Leaves of Grass once and it blew his mind. He might just surrender to the Brotherhood if they let him have access to their books, because he needs those. But also he might not because they would probably kill him and he’s also spending his post-Raven Rock time helping synths out of the Institute and that’s something they’d kill him for. And probably also kill a lot of other people if they realized that the Railroad had ex-Enclave in there. And the Institute doesn’t care for the humanities, which is why they had to create machines to teach them how to be human and then proceed to do such terrible things to the humans they’ve created; because they are less machine than they are and they resent them for it.
Modern Vlogger Klaus K. Zheng
Relationship advice vlogger, specifically as a counter-voice to all those shitty misogynist PUAs that are targeting lonely straight men. Also here for the lonely women and the lonely queers since he’s a queer man himself.
Poetry: He’s got a Master’s in Poetry and he feels it was time well spent, even if he didn’t care as much for academia as he did for the writing and the reading. One of the rewards for donating to his Patreon at a higher tier is a short poem written just for you about whatever subject you wish. (Assuming that it’s not extremely objectionable. He’ll gladly write poems about all sorts of sex acts, but he won’t write one about the virtues of white power.)
HZD Kleskizhae
Carja Warrior. Participated in the Red Raids because that was what the will of the Sun was but he couldn’t take the violence and the genocide and ended up joining with Sun-Prince Avad to overthrow the murderous king literally as soon as he could. Has been on a tour of goodwill ever since.
Poetry: Overuses the words “glinting”, “scintillating”, “resplendent”, “radiant”, “brilliant” and other words that mean A LOT OF LIGHT because he’s really into writing ridiculous songs about the Sun. A lot more personal and emotional than a lot of Carja poetry, since it’s more about love than about praising the Sun or the King. It’s a new dawn, and what the world needs is love’s shining rays to heal her wounds. With the help of some Oseram who wanted to promote the newly invented phonograph, manages to become the first real pop star after the apocalypse.
DA Kleskizhae
Tevinter Battlemage. Was sent off to the front lines against the Qunari to keep from embarrassing his family and his master. Accidentally ended up embarrassing them anyway.
Poetry: So he’s really into bringing up the Old Gods in his poems. He doesn’t worship them, he’s a good Andrastian, but you know how in the Renaissance everyone was a huge Greeceaboo? Yeah, it’s like that.
WtA Klaus K. Zheng
Fianna Galliard. He’s a werewolf poet who sings ballads of his pack’s glorious battles and lifts their spirits in the name of Gaia and Stag!
Poetry: He’s got a soft spot for dirty limericks. All of the Kleskizhaes will make improv poems upon request when they’re drunk enough but Fianna!Klaus is the master of the drunken on-the-spot poem. Like they get way better when he’s drunk and they’re improvised, as opposed to the usual thing where they’re charmingly bad.
VtM Klaus K. Zheng
Toreador. Got the vampire bug some time in the Victorian era, I dunno if he was actually British or what.
Poetry: Lord Byron himself once called his poems “a bit maudlin.” His sire was certainly fond of his work, but if he had more time in his peak living creative years he would have probably been a better known figure in the Romantic movement. As it is he’s fairly irrelevant and forgotten by all but a few intense scholars of the period, and even they consider him a minor figure.
Shadowrun Klaus K. Zheng
Elven Street Samurai. Just wants to make the world a better place through the power of love and also katanas. Probably unfortunately involved with Aztechnology which is gonna end badly for him probably.
Poetry: Machines and corporations have not yet conquered the metahuman soul, and that is why he writes. Has been banned from a couple of Runner BBSs for constantly posting about his latest runs in the form of epic poem, and that’s not what these boards are for, @GLORIOUSSAMURAI, please turn off your caps lock
Star Trek Kleskizhae
Romulan Tactical Officer. Fought in the Dominion War, joined the Romulan Republic after Romulus asplode, because they wouldn’t let him quietly desert and because he believes in the true Romulan spirit that can never be repressed!
Poetry: He’s trying to revive ancient pre-Awakening Vulcan poetic traditions whilst failing to recognize that lots of it doesn’t work in the modern Romulan language. He’s always been super into poetry but after the destruction of Romulus, he becomes obsessed with writing the perfect series of poems to describe it for the future, so that people will remember what it’s like long after everyone who remembers it is dead. He hasn’t been successful yet and it’s upsetting him but he can’t just not do it. He owes it to the dead.
Bionicle Kleskizhae
He's a proud Skakdi warlord of Fire who is trying his best to unite his proud and noble people against the wicked deprivations of the Makuta and might also be in the Order of Mata Nui because sometimes Kleskizhae is a spy? But always he is very loud.
Poetry: Extremely long and elaborate war chants with 40 verses that he’s trying to get his guys to chant into battle but no one else but him can remember it all and he keeps adding more verses. But also he’s written love poetry that’s gone all the way around Greg and made romance canon again! He’s done it! With the chiseling of the tablets he’s made love real!

Atelier Lulua (PS4) - Part 12 | Flare Let's Play:
youtube
Niko, adventurous pirate, overall handsome, kind individual helps us out after creating a Demon Cannon to help with his request on defeating Vultures in the Modis Ruins. Even the best of us has flaws and one of Meruru's is running off in a hurry, though at one time Lulua and the crew finally gets to meet Princess Meruru in the flesh. Mushroom Curry for both Meruru and Lulua (if Meruru likes curry that is).
This is Atelier Lulua: The Scion of Arland, an alchemy-adventure rpg made by GUST and published by Koei Tecmo Europe. We play as Lulua, daughter on Rorona and lover of curry. One day, Lulua along with her childhood friend Eva wonders back from Fellsgalaxen when Lulua discovered a mysterious book that only she could read, from then on. Her alchemy adventure truely began.
"Atelier Lulua: The Scion of Arland invites players to assume the role of Elmerulia “Lulua” Fryxel, a young aspiring alchemist training under former student turned mentor, Piana. Lulua studies diligently to fulfil her dream of becoming a great alchemist just like her mother, Rorolina Frixell; but during her training Lulua discovers a mysterious Codex, awakening an ancient power within her that enables Lulua to decrypt but a single page – with many more riddles for her to unravel."

Thoughts on the latest TTS, particularly the tabletop aspect?
I’m actually a Patreon supporter of Alfabusa (you can see my name in the end credits), so I’ve seen this a while back. I like to help out anyway I can, and I’d happily volunteer as a voice actor. He has enough male VA’s though, and no lack of interest.
Anyway, the game was a special version of Narrative Play called “Meat Grinder,” where the attacker has endless numbers and the defender merely has to have units remaining by the end of the last turn, hence why you can see the huge mismatch between Chaos and Imperial forces. Since the Imperials had their Deathwatch, Tempestus Scions, Ordo Hereticus Inquisitor and Cannoness units still alive at the end of the last turn, the Imperials were considered to have won a major victory. From the recap, it looks like the Imperial side had a lot of really bad rolls on Draigo’s part.
Anyway, I’m excited to see the Star-Child take over after Fyodor mantles the Emperor, emphasizing some of his negative qualities (which the Star-Child accepts and points out) combined with sincere belief that the Warp responds to. The Star-Child has always been a fascinating part of 40k lore, and I look forward to seeing the more faith-based aspects of the Emperor as emphasized by the Star-Child collide with the Imperial Truth aspects of the Emperor as emphasized by the Throne-bound self. Also, the Dominique and Saint Celestine scene was very touching, kudos to Snipe and Franky for a really well-performed scene.
Thanks for the question, Necro.
