Making my first £10 in Royalties

I have a locket that I always intended to keep my first £10 in royalties inside. But I expected that to take several months.

I never even dreamed that would happen in the first month, the first week, that Changeling was on sale.

He'd forgotten his winter gear AGAIN, Wally'd flashed down to Happy Harbor to see his Cousin/Sister Primrose as Kid Flash to shorten his trip drastically despite Zeta Tubes being way faster than his speed. He'd just arrived and was knocking on her door shivering in civvies, "Prim!?" he beat the door a little harder as he heard loud music sighing when she opened it.

Primrose donned short Black hair having been telling neighbors she'd cut it, "I'm so sorry Wally, I was listening to Christmas music" the young tween apologized half dragging half leading him inside before shutting the door.

"Ey it's alright Prim" Wally laughed using what she said was HIS pet name for her, "a bit of hot chocolate might help me forgive you" the Redhead teased laughing when she flashed to her kitchen to set the kettle on the stove reminding him to remove his shoes.

"Did you forget your Winter suit?" Primrose asked her elder brother noticing the faint and fading rosiness in his cheeks when he flashed into the kitchen drawn in by the warm aroma of baked goods since his connection to the speed force always had him hungry, "I made this just in case you visited" the young woman smiled sliding him a medium-sized plate of Justice League and Christmas cookies.

"Thanks, Prim" Wally grinned sitting at the counter to eat, "sure is coming down outside huh?" the Ginger said looking out the window where the snow fell in flurries forming a thick White blanket on the property she lived on.

"I know right" Primrose smiled looking out over the snowy yard her hair shifting to Snow White, "Wally...I don't feel safe having you zipping around in this" she said softly cringing when the winds picked up knocking out her power the northern winter throwing the 4:00 PM into pitch black darkness.

"Well, I won't be going anywhere now" Wally laughed watching Primrose light a few LED candles and TeaCandles all around the living room before striking a match on the brick fireplace tossing it in watching the flame engulf the small logs, "guess that means you're stuck with me tonight Prim" he joked watching her rig up her kettle to dangle from a metal dowl above the flames.

"That you aren't," Prim said softly before getting an idea, "wait here" she flashed to her room returning with something around her neck and something crinkling in her hands. "You get one early present" Primrose smiled laying the present in Wally's hands, "I saw these in Star City and thought they were cute," she told him as he opened a large necklace donned with comically big Christmas lights.

Wally laughed finding the power switch turning it on where solid Red and Green lit up around his neck, "this works" the Redhead smiled watching Primrose turn hers on too before the kettle started whistling. "I'll grab the mix and mugs" The tween offered his sister as he went to her kitchen setting up two mugs of hot chocolate mix and grabbing two spoons and his plate of cookies for them to share, "you cold?" he asked noticing she was shaking.

"Thanks, Walman" Primrose smiled at her brother pouring the water into the mugs and stirring hers, "yeah a little, let me grab the guest room comforter" she said softly going to her second room returning with her Batman comforter which the two eventually snuggled under together listening to the fire crackle after they turned off the LED candles so the only lights were the goofy Christmas light necklaces and the fire until they fell asleep slouched against the couch.

Primrose eventually woke up to the chime of her grandfather clock as it struck midnight meaning it was now Christmas, "Merry Christmas Wally" the girl smiled snuggling up to her brother and simply going back to sleep.

Wally stirred in his sleep hearing Primrose talk, he simply buried his face in her hair and slept on.

I don't know if my dreams would be considered "big" author dreams, really

I'm not trying to be a "best selling author" or make it onto the NYT Best Seller List, or even be a houshold name. My goals, dreams, are comparatively simple.

I want my books to be read, and my characters to be loved.

I'd, ideally, like to be earning enough from my books to fascilitate my continuing to write them.

But my main goal is for people to read my books, to love my characters, and to spread enjoyment with a quality product.

It’s that time again! What a great month we have had! Since I doubt I will be able to wrap up Dragonfly in Amber within two days, I am going ahead with my scheduled post for each month. 📖 I have read two amazing books this month and it has made it difficult to make my decision. 📖 This month’s pick is “Outlander” by Diana Gabaldon. (5/5⭐) I have been really enjoying this series and seeing all the changes they made to the shows which is starting to upset me. If you have or have not watched the shows yet, I advise reading the books. Some people claim that they like the changes but honestly, I don’t. Don’t get me wrong, the shows are incredible and I feel like I made the right decision by watching the shows first because I may have not watched up to season 5 otherwise. 📖 I hope everyone had a great month of July. Consider: Robbie Rotten was snatched as a child by the Fae and was replaced with a changeling named Glanni.  He finds his way back home to Lazytown after cleverly bargaining for his freedom only to find out centuries have passed while he was in the other realm.  Even so, everyone saw him as the horrible Glanni who was mean and nasty and just wanted to mess everyone’s day up. He comes face to face with his double and Glanni is just so relieved that he can finally leave this boring town. He congratulates Robbie on figuring a way out, because really that is rather hard to do.  Robbie has to pick up his life and face what everyone thinks they know about him. Without being able to change what they think, he started to play along with it even though his heart was never really in it. He doesn’t know how he’s supposed to act anymore, or who he really is since the Fae had him for such a long time. He was never really able to develop his personality and sense of self normally.  So, he’s almost slightly relieved that he has a role to play. This all started because Nine had been the hero of the town when Robbie was very young. All because he had figured out that Nine was an elf and since Nine was so trustworthy, he thought maybe those Fae were too since they were really similar to Nine. He forgot everything he knew about the Fae and went with them.  This is why he tries to drive Sportacus out of town, because he doesn’t want anyone else to make the mistake of learning to trust magical beings and why Sportacus needs to work twice as hard to gain Robbie’s trust.  (Dealer’s Choice if Glanni comes back into town to cause trouble just to bug Robbie or maybe to hide out from Íþróttaálfurinn for awhile. And if everyone sees him, Robbie has to come up with a quick “he’s my brother/cousin/relative and definitely not a changeling who won’t leave me alone!” or something.)
