What is your thought about the Hive gods as Guardians discussion? (this is a long anon ask sorry!) I find it funny that we're all in agreement Xivu would be a Titan, but Oryx and Savathun remain a scuffle.
Personally, I think it's Oryx=warlock and Sav=hunter because (I'll try to keep it short haha)
Despite people putting Hunter for Oryx because of his Navigator/exploring urges, I often think about how he "dove to understand", and his nature is very warlocky with his fineass wormsilk robes. He really embodies that scholar commitment for me
Sav gets put as a Warlock because of her "witch queen" title and beef with Ikora and mindgames, but I would like to point out that her character is severely coded in being free and Hunters are often downolayed in their intelligence because of stereotypes but they are cunning. They represent bending the playing field to their tricks and voracity, plus the og beef relationship is Sav vs Eris, which I always read like a dynamic hunter/prey game with them. Also Eris + Sav shipping gang anywhere?
This topic is like a Pandoras box and people get really heated on it so I hope I don't come across as rude or anything! I just really love hearing the takes on this because wow this community can sometimes be crazy observant and thorough. Have a great one!!

We can agree Xivu is titan-coded for her tactical prowess and martial might, but Oryx and Savathun are less clear. Nevertheless, we've reached the same conclusion.
Oryx is, to me, unambiguously warlock-coded: his studies of the Darkness, his communion with the Deep, introspection and curiosity all read as remarkably warlock-like, though I can understand why the "navigation" aspect would throw people for a loop when doing these kinds of analyses.
I think there's a better case to be made for "warlock Savathun" than "hunter Oryx". Still, I think she's strongly hunter-coded: in addition to the points you brought up, her disguises/camouflaging and disappearing to pursue goals separate to those of her siblings. If Oryx sought to understand, Savathun sought to sow misunderstanding and that feels incredibly hunterish to me.
Of course, this is complicated by Savathun being a lightbearer now: 2/3 of her common attacks are warlock supers, and 1/3 of them are hunter supers. There's also the secret fourth ward of dawn during her WQ campaign boss fight. (And even that I'm not sure is hers or a result of the ritual her wizards are casting.)
Mechanically, I'm inclined to think of her as a hunter-warlock melange, but spiritually she still feels very hunter. She acts a lot like she did in her pre-guardian life, even without the pressure from her worm to deceive.
Also Eris + Sav shipping gang anywhere?

Heyo! Mod Sav here! This is the Frequently Asked Questions page for..
The Taleblr Zine.
-What is this about? Who is it for?
For Venturiantale fans who miss the old fandom, for those who've just joined and found this community, for anyone who appreciates that fans have created their own canon! The Zine will feature not just the fan favorites (P.I.E, I'm looking at you), but as many different characters as we can get. The Acachallas, the creepypasta highschoolers, D.I.E, characters from the Billion Year War- you name it.
-Is there an age requirement for contributors?
As long as you are 13+ (able to be on social media), you can participate in this zine. This zine will be SFW only.
-Do you support/affiliate with the Frye brothers?
Oh hell no. This isn't associated with them in any capacity, and it's not meant to infringe on their IP, either- this is a group of fans coming together to make a transformative work for our own enjoyment.
-Do you accept art AND writing?
I'm considering artworks first and writing second, though if a lot of people show interest in writing, that may be subject to change. (If fics are included, they will be limited to 500-1000 words!) Collaborations with each other will also be something to think about, and each person will be limited to two artworks (or one artwork and one fic, etc).
Please do not put any heavily triggering content in your application samples (e.g non-con, graphic violence, self harm). All samples should be SFW. Additionally, no machine-generated (AI) work will be accepted for artists or writers. Plagiarism will also not be tolerated.
-When will applications open up? What's the schedule look like?
The artist/writer applications are open as of September 27th, 2023, and can be found here! The mod applications are also still open! If you know someone who may want to participate but is not on tumblr, feel free to direct them to this FAQ/blog. It would be awesome to get old fans in here!
The rest of the schedule will be visible in the Discord, which you will gain access to once you're accepted in.
-Is it gonna be available as a digital download?
Presently, the zine is going to have a digital release, yeah! However, if enough people express interest in a physical copy or physical merch, any money made from preorders will be put toward making that happen! It would only be for-profit in the sense that the profit would go RIGHT back into manufacturing.

Snow Leppards.
Inspired by an amazing artwork by @amiscreations.
Sorry this took a very long time, I procrastinated a lot wanted to wait until the first snowfall before posting it.
Warning: Drunkenness, swearing.
January 1986, Loosdrecht, Holland.
"Hell, how can he aim while he's that drunk?" Steve thought after he got Phil's snowball right behind the head.
-Philip, come back here, you bastard! He shouted and turned around, but all he got for an answer were drunken laughters and the sound of clumsy footsteps in the snow.
In a split second, war was declared and all of a sudden, all friendships where shattered.
Joe tackled Sav face first in the snow, which was followed by a surprisingly calm reaction.
-Oh, come on, just let me up. He asked to the man who was keeping him pressed to the ground with a roll of his eyes.
-Get up by yourself!
-As you wish...
He then picked a handful of snow and rubbed it in Joe's face.
-Aaah, alright you win! He abdictated and stood up.
Rick had uselessly tried to gather some snow and join whatever was going on, but all he managed to do was to stumble to the ground with laughter. Little did he know that a second was more than enough for Joe and Sav to team up, because nothing is better for forgiving than to revenge on someone else. That's how he ended with his body covered with snow.
-C'mon Rick, get up or you're gonna' freeze to death under there. Joe
-No, it's kinda warm, I'm insulated, you guys are going to be the one to turn into ice statues, you guys don't even wear hats. He retorted in a motherly tone.
-Well I don't need one, look at my hair. Grumbled Sav.
-You would be a horrible dad, Rick, two of your kids ran away, one of them heavily underdressed for the season and you didn't even notice. Joe criticised with a sarcastic chuckle.
-Yeah, Steve didn't bother to put anything else but his leather jacket. Sav added. The one he had when we were inside.
-No, he's got a scarf. Rick contradicted him.
-Huge fucking difference, like he didn't have it all the time. Joe huffed.
-But where is he? Sav finally asked the real question.
Yes, where was Steve gone? Well, besides from his coat and scarf, he had an offense to avenge, and believe me, Phil wasn't ready for it.
He was already on the frozen lake, heading back to the hotel, which was easier said than done, given how sluggish his legs were due to the several drinks he had during the evening. Everything was calm and...
-Bonsai!!! Someone shouted behind him.
It was either an avalanche or one hell of a sudden snowstorm, but in a second he was on the ground, his head covered with snow.
-Steve, it's banzai! He chuckled when he saw his twin's face above him.
-Maybe, but I got you. He replied before laying down on the ice so that their heads would be side to side.
-What did you throw at me?
-I followed your footsteps and rolled this massive snow ball all the way along. Now we're even.
-Yeah, I guess. He agreed. But, hell, it burns! He then exclaimed and wiped the snow off his face.
-The stars are beautiful tonight. Steve commented after a moment of silence.
The only clouds to be seen were the vapor formed by their breathes, leaving the way for their eyes to observe.
-We could spend the night here. Phil offered jokingly.
-Na, too cold.
-When the others arrive we could do like penguins, you know when they gather to keep warm.
-No, I have my lady penguin waiting for me on the other side. Steve said and pointed towards their hotel.
-I guess we don't stand the comparison... He grumbled.
-But wasn't there a bird you liked at the club with some guys we know, why didn't you approach her?
-Yeah Katherine, I did.
-And?
-She almost doesn't speak English. Jan, one of the guys with her, had to translate most of what we were saying.
-Ooh, that's sad.
-At least, she seemed to be interested.
-If the friend wasn't bulshitting you. You should really learn Dutch.
-On the to-do list, right under finishing the album.
-How interested did she look?
Before the sentimally disapoited guitarist could say a word, they heard Joe's voice calling for him:
-Hey Phil, there's a nice girl looking for you!
They both sat up and exchanged an eye contact full of hope.
-Tell her to come this way! He shouted back.
-Well, I'm gonna leave you alone then. Sounds like you have a Dutch lesson coming soon. Steve greeted him before taking balance on his shoulder in order to stand up.
-Wait, give me a hand, please. He asked reaching out for Steve to help him.
Short after his friend left, he saw four silhouettes walking towards him, one preceding the others by several yards.
-Phil? She called as she came closer, the small amount of light coming from the town making it hard for her to see properly.
Altough he expected to hear the sound of her voice, his heart couldn't help but jump in his chest as she said his name.
-Me. He waved at Katherine, only hoping what he said would sound approximately right in her language.
As he was about to clear the step that was still separating them, but she raised her hand in a stopping gesture, which he obeyed without hesitation. She fumbled in her pocket and got a napkin out, holding it for him to take. Then got her lighter in order to create some luminosity.
Within the small halo of light, he started to distinguish a neat handwriting on the napkin.
Here's the thing: She didn't stop whining about not following you since you left the bar, so basically I wrote this so she didn't have to try to explain it to you: She wants to be with you (please get the hint).
A word that you would maybe find useful:

Phil folded the paper in his own pocket and decided to put theory into practice:
-Kussen?
After all when you don't know much more than five words in a language, "subject, verb, object" tends to get kicked out of your sentences.
Apparently Katherine wasn't fond of grammar either because within a second, they were entangled in a tight embrace. As they kissed, he ran his finger through her curls of brown hair and her cold hands made him shiver as she kept them on his neck's warm skin.
-I didn't know it was snow leopards' mating season! Joe's sharp sense of humor interrupted them.
-Well go ask Steve about the penguins' one! The guitarist retorted with a middle finger after pulling away from Katherine.
-Penguins? Sav huffed in incomprehension.

Eris and Toland for the character ask thing?
Eris:
favorite thing about them: there's an endless list of things I love about her, but one of the main ones is that "recovery is a spiral, not a circle" aspect of her. How sometimes your experiences change you so much that you can never return to the way you used to be, but that doesn't mean you can't heal. How these shadows will always remain with you, but you can use them to your advantage and draw something good out of them. It gives me a lot to think about, what with my own journey of wrestling with mental disorders for almost 8 years and slowly moving towards the realisation that maybe I will never recover = revert to the time before the illness
least favorite thing about them: there are a few instances of her just... forgetting fun exists? Like she *does* have a quite dry sense of humour and she can be witty, but at a few moments in the game she berates other characters for joking around in a way that doesn't feel natural at all to me, as if only to keep the veneer of her being the Serious One. It's odd, and a bit cringe
favorite line: "Be safe, Gensym Scribe. A storm is coming. And I will not be at your side when it finds its way to our shores."

Bound Dreamer - CR14 Outsider (Dimension of Dreams)
A nightmare from the Dimension of Dreams.

A bound dreamer is a creature native to the Dimension of Dreams which feeds on nightmares. When it finds the dreaming forms of creatures that are having nightmares, it traps them in those nightmares for as long as possible, using its webbing and its physical power to physically hold their dream bodies in place and prevent them from escaping, and using its magic and curses to prevent them from awakening too soon.
The webbing from bound dreamers is used as a type of funerary binding for the particularly honored dead, such as great kings, by certain cultures. These groups gather the webbing from bound dreamers by using planar binding spells to trap bound dreamers on the material plane, where they may eventually starve for lack of nightmares to feed on, if not released or allowed to use their Induce Nightmares ability. A bound dreamer can go without eating for about the same amount of time as a human can go without sleep, and the symptoms of its hunger are similar to human symptoms of sleep deprivation.
When in the material plane, a bound dreamer uses its silk to create fine silk sheets and hanging drapes around a comfortable-looking bed, trying to lure victims to take a nap so that it can feast on their nightmares. It has no desire to kill its victims; it needs them alive in order to continue feeding.

Poison (Su)
A bound dreamer’s venom causes flesh to blister and rot away and the mind to experience vivid and horrific hallucinations—these visions cause the poisoned creature to react in an unpredictable manner, as if confused. The hallucination element of this poison is mind-affecting. The save DC is Constitution-based.
Bite—injury; save Fort DC 25; frequency 1/round for 6 rounds; effect 1d3 Con plus confusion for 1 round; cure 2 consecutive saves.
Nightmare Curse (Su)
A bound dreamer's bite puts horrifying visions in the target's mind. When it succeeds on its bite attack, the target must succeed on a DC 21 Will save or be cursed. The save DC is Charisma-based.
Curse—save Will DC 23; frequency 1/day; effect 1d4 Wisdom drain and target is fatigued; cure 3 consecutive saves or dispel evil, dream, or remove curse.
Sleeping Webs (Su)
A bound dreamer's ranged web attacks cause a creature wrapped in them to lose consciousness. Any creature hit by the web attack is entangled unless it succeeds on a DC 25 Reflex save. A creature that fails on this Reflex save must also make a DC 23 Will save or be put to sleep for 8 hours, though it can be woken up as normal. This does not leave behind webs on the squares it hits; these projectile webs break apart harmlessly if they don't hit a creature. The Reflex save DC is Constitution-based and the Will save DC is Charisma-based.
An entangled creature that isn't put to sleep can make a DC 25 Escape Artist or Strength check to escape the web, but takes a -4 penalty on this roll. Attempts to escape or burst the webbing gain a +5 bonus if the trapped creature has something to walk on or grab while pulling free.
A bound dreamer can also create sheets of webbing to climb on, as usual for the web ability, but these sheets of webbing do not induce sleep or have any additional effects.
Induce Nightmare (Sp)
As a full-round action, a bound dreamer can touch a sleeping creature and warp and twist its dreams into violent, chaotic nightmares. An affected creature must succeed on a DC 23 Will save or be affected as by a Nightmare spell. This deals 1d10 damage as normal for the Nightmare spell, leaves the target fatigued, does not wake the target up. The bound dreamer is healed for the same amount of damage, and gains a +2 morale bonus to attack rolls, saves, and skill checks for 1 hour. The save DC is Charisma-based.
Change Shape (Su)
As a standard action, a bound dreamer can change its form into that of a spider swarm. It gains swarm traits, and its melee bite attack is replaced by a swarm attack which deals 6d6 damage. Targets of the swarm attack are subjected to the bound dreamer’s poison and induce nightmare abilities, as well as a swarm’s distraction ability (DC 25). While in its spider swarm form, a bound dreamer has a space of 10 feet and a reach of 0 feet, and is a swarm of diminutive creatures. It loses its natural armor bonus, but due to its change in size, it loses its size penalty to AC and gains a +4 size bonus to AC (for a total net change of -6 AC, +6 touch AC). Its statistics do not otherwise change.
A bound dreamer can remain in its spider swarm form indefinitely, and can dismiss it as a standard action.
