Choices Spread Kindness Celebration
Welcome to the third annual Choices Spread Kindness Celebration! This event begins on Social Media Kindness Day (November 9) and "ends" on World Kindness Day (November 13). I say "ends" because there's a bonus day to celebrate you on the 14th.
The goal of the event is simple: spread kindness in the fandom by shouting out people who make it great. Sometimes the smallest acts of kindness can change someone’s day.

November 13: Fandom Love Day (Secret Admirer Day)
This is sort of like secret Santa but just for kind messages. You do not need to create, buy, or gift anyone anything. This is open to anyone in the fandom (creator, reader, supporter, anyone!)
All that is required is that you write the person you’ve been assigned a kind, encouraging, supportive message for November 13th. It can be generic, but I do encourage you to take a few minutes to look over the person's blog and see if you can give them a compliment specific to them that might be more meaningful.
To participate, message me here (@choicesfandomappreciation) or @lovealexhunt and let me know you want to join.
*If there is someone you absolutely cannot be paired with please let me know that too, no judgement and it will be kept private.
On November 5th, I will randomize everyone who is interested in participating and send you one person’s name. On November 13th, send your message to this blog anonymously (@choicesfandomappreciation ).
I will tag your person so they see your message.

For Day 4 of Choices Spread Kindness event by @choicesfandomappreciation, I simply must mention the fan projects. Most probably know about them already, but if you missed them, there are a couple of fan sequels/spinoffs of various Choices books!
First, the myth, the legend that is @itlivesproject, the team behind It Lives Within, which is the sequel to It Lives books. This story is obviously made with so much love and care for the original, giving the fans everything they could ever want. From the lore to original character cameos to tiny details like character customisation. It's a wonderful story in and of itself and a perfect conclusion for the series as a whole.
Then there are also these wonderful projects that are currently in development:
@thedistantshoresproject, the Distant Shores sequel;
@nightboundfanfiction, the Nightbound sequel;
@immortaldesiresproject, the Immortal Desires sequel;
and finally @bloodboundsiege, a BloodBound spinoff taking place in New York during book 2!
Making a game is no small feat, and these are all phenomenally hard-working and talented people, who are doing it just out of love for the original stories. And I think it's something worth celebrating!

my introverted ass gets a lil shy about participating in fandom events sometimes lol, but I wanted to give some folks some love for ✨Choices Fandom Shoutout Day!✨
Firstly, to all my moots, but especially @pudb1e @alleykatart @icanmakewords @honeyinadream @scrumptioustimemachinetragedy @aces-and-angels @zhoras-bitch @lilyoffandoms and anyone else i've missed! (chemo brain is a bitch)
ngl, every time you guys like something to do with the Starlight blorbos it makes me giddy. You make this such a warm and joyous place to be with every little interaction -- your joy is my joy, and I'm so glad our shared love of ID and Choices fandom stuff (and hopefully, my writing too!) has brought you all some happiness.
I hope something makes you smile today. You deserve all the happiness in the world and I appreciate you all so much 🌻🌼🌷
I wanted to give an extra special shout out to @jerzwriter for making this fandom such an inclusive and welcoming place -- you are just straight up lovely! I know I barely know you, but you have a generosity of spirit that I really, greatly admire.
[Skip this bit if you want, as I'm touching on heavier health stuff].
I realise I haven't actually got around to posting the fic in question yet (writing takes a lot out of me atm), but I have been frittering away at a piece based on the ask you sent me forever ago, and I really wanted to thank you for taking the time to send that ask in the first place. Not only did it make me feel like I really was a part of the community here, but you actually sent me that ask right before a meeting with my oncologist where I was due to find out whether I had been responding to chemotherapy or not. (I am getting better! ✨🎉) It was a pretty rough morning, and through some truly serendipitous timing, you swooped in and offered me the perfect distraction. I immediately found myself imagining all these soft scenarios and trying to cobble together little plot points instead of fixating on my anxiety; you gave me an escape when I really needed it.
And for me, that's exactly what fandom is all about! That's what fanfic writers and fanartists are so wonderful at achieving with their works; is bringing this refuge of joy and levity and beauty when we need it the most. So, truly, thank you -- not just for the ask that day, not just for all your hard work with @choicesficwriterscreations, but simply for being you and for sharing your stories with the world. You really do bring a light 💛
And through all of this, my OG reader and wonderful friend @freedom-kitty ✨ You've been there since the beginning bringing so much enthusiasm and eagerness and leaving some of the most wonderful comments on my fics that I have ever had the joy of reading. I would be remiss if I didn't tell you that you are an absolute GEM and I'm so glad ID brought us together 💖 I have so many of your comments saved to go back and re-read when I'm doubting my own skills, or when I just need a smile (I'm still absolutely cracking up about the Aria the Great saga when I "joined you" on holiday lmao). You are the best ever, and I hope you know it.
Thank you for cheering me on, both in writing and in life with all the bullshit going on this year. You kick ass, lovely, and you should feel awesome about being you 💕

Tagging @choicesfandomappreciation for Spread Kindness Week! I unfortunately was on holiday while this was on, so I missed the week while it was happening. Still, I do want to put up some (belated and very well deserved) appreciation posts for folks whose writing, art, content or even just simple posts make me smile!
For Day 1, I want to shower some well-deserved praise for the fan community blogs that encourage content creators with their events, competitions and prompts, and who tirelessly work to present hundreds and thousands of creative works in their masterlists. As someone who runs a couple events of my own, I know how strenuous it is and it takes a massive amount of drive and patience to do it on a regular basis!
@choicesficwriterscreations - I know you've gone through a couple tough weeks this month, and I admire how sensitively and compassionately you tried to handle it. So much love to the hosts and I hope you guys go from strength to strength! @jerzwriter and @cfwcmod-lucy, love you!!
@choicesmonthlychallenge - LOVE all your monthly prompts even if I am so sluggish in getting them done! Kudos to every single individual who has run the separate blogs for each month...you're all amazing and I love how each day has three prompts to choose from. You all really spoil us for choice. Self Love Day/Plans for 2024
So originally, I hadn't planned to do this day of Fandom Kindness Week as I have only taken a few glances here and there this week as it's nearing finals week (and I feel bad that I didn't shout out any other creators on this platform, many who I think are very cool and an important part of this fandom), but I feel that I need to do this for myself after being very self critical these last few months for many reasons.
Anyways, I am very proud of myself of keeping up with deadlines i made for myself with getting fics out. I don't always put deadlines but if it's something for a character's birthday or something like that, I have to put a deadline on it or it won't get done, and for a lot of the fics that I have done this, there has been something(s) that were very important, for example when I was writing both Ethan and Claire's Birthday fics, I was also finishing up my senior project (which was one of my high school grad requirements), which made me proud that I was able to do both of those fics and do very well on the project.
I am also very proud of myself and me trying to bring more to my characters and their personalities and what they like, which I think has been helped by questions asked by other people or ones that I had done for Random Question Time.
Under the break is my plans for 2024, so if you don't want to see it, you can keep scrolling.
Now, on to my plans for 2024 (because I feel that if I don't type it out into the world, it won't get done).
In 2024, I want to do more of what I did with Brooklyn and doing theatre. For example i want to write and make edits of her doing shows and movies and tv along with the other stuff that I write for all of my other pairings.
Another thing I want to possibly do is add one (maybe two) more pairings to my list as I have ideas for both a Rules of Engagement MC and a America's Most Eligible MC.
Another thing I want to do in 2024 is write for other fandoms again. For about the last year or so, I have only been writing for Choices/Open Heart/Red Carpet Diaries. While I love writing for these books, I also love writing for Star Wars and Marvel and many other things that I haven't done in forever and I want to pick it back up in 2024.

Choices Spread Kindness Day 1
A bit late, but I really want to use the opportunity of @choicesfandomappreciation event to say a few words to the cool people in this fandom. Real life stuff and my own awkwardness sometimes gets in the way, but I just want everyone I've interacted on here to know that you are what make this fandom such a fun and enjoyable place. There are so many of you I could never list everyone, but that doesn't mean I won't try!
To start off, heyyy drought era mutuals and non-mutuals! The fandom was so barren when I joined, it felt like there were maybe 5 people here. But these were the 5 people who made me want to stay even through the books like [redacted] so that's how cool you are @yourqueenb @zoeywades-spouse @griffinsboyfriend @masked-alien-lesbian @choices-binglebonkus @becca-davenqueer!
Next, @gaiuskamilah love your long fandom rants, greatly appreciate your gothic romance propaganda and villain apologia. You never fail to bring up something interesting about the stories and characters you talk about, and your love for the books you talk about is contagious.
@livelaughlovecassie you are a loud supporter of women’s rights and women’s wrongs and I respect that! You’re also a sweetheart and a joy to interact with. I feel like we have similar taste in tropes and character we like, you know? You get me.
@choicesfrog you’re a ray of sunshine. I look forward to when you come back from your hiatus so I can see your playthroughs and your OCs on my dash again.
@princepotatosack your posts are some of the funniest in this entire fandom, I swear! I love your librarian rants, and I’m a big fan of your MCs profiles, which inspired me to make mine too.
@what-do-you-mean-theyre-evil I love our interactions, you just get me, you know? Fantastic vibes altogether.

I saw you listed Tyril and Raine as one of your pairings, and I was so excited to create something to do with BOLAS for you!! I love the group's friendship dynamic too, so I got really inspired with this one.
Um, so this gift comes from the school of “aria does entirely too much because they got an idea and couldn’t let it go” lol (sorry!)
I started fiddling with some edits of Tyril and Raine to get the ideas cooking, and I realised I could see a little “5+1” storyline happening as told by said edits… which then somehow spawned a ~5k word fic?? 😶 I don’t expect you to read it at all! I know I'm a little late on this one, but I couldn't let the event pass with out catching up. There are so many incredible people that deserve a shout out and recognition not just during this event, but always. I wish I could truly tag every single person in this fandom, whether we've interacted or not. Every single person in this fandom matters. We might be small, but we have endured so much together. I am grateful to be on this journey with all of you.
