Nowadays every time I see the "to deny this is to drink strong poison" quote I think about how I refuse to acknowledge half of what's cannonically happened in Destiny since Lightfall, like yeah. I drink strong poison. I'm gorging myself on it. It's not good for anyone and least for me, but I'm so deep in denial I'm calling it nectar

1 hunter, 1 titan, 1 warlock: balanced. normal. boring. ya'll hiding all your problems under a thin veneer like a good ol' 1950s white picket fence family.

3 titans: it does not matter what gender ya'll are, y'all start acting like 16-year-old boys the moment you get together.
3 hunters: (David Attenborough voice) this fireteam communicates exclusively through in jokes, grunts, and saying "dude" in a variety of different tones.
3 warlocks: ya'll are THE most competitive people i have EVER met. you will metaphorically compare the hairs on your ass to find who has the best one.

2 titans, 1 hunter: this is a strong family that's super chill and easy to get along with. the best fireteam to ask to your day 1 blind raid.
2 titans, 1 warlock: ya'll are basically siblings, but the kind of siblings that genuinely care for and respect each other and get along just fine.

2 hunters, 1 warlock: this is one of those friend groups where one person is the butt of every joke (it's the warlock), but if anyone outside the friend group tries making fun of them, that person is getting verbally assassinated by the other two.

...so Into The Light brought yet another Stranger's Rifle into the picture, didn't it
It’s Time To Explain
I’m so here for No Time To Explain going places and not having time to explain how it’s ended up there. We first get it from Elsie in D1 vanilla, then do some very weird shit to get it again (is it the same gun? did we return it to Elsie? did she have a spare one? she has hers still in Beyond Light) in TTK with Lakshmi’s help and Praedyth’s ghostly presence. That whole quest is fascinating, but this:
(un)surprisingly does get a follow-up! Many long years later, in Aspect (ha!) we find out it was Praedyth who made the rifle after the gun he had been seeing Elsie with in his visions, in order to (very cryptically) warn us of the coming Darkness:
Praedyth carves messages into the last functional pieces of his gear: anything that can serve as a bottle for his messages, thrown out on time’s ocean. And what does a Guardian pay more attention to than their equipment? They’ll catch someone’s eye, somewhen.
He knows the wave is coming. More visions flicker past him now, burning afterimages into his eyelids. More timelines—a possibility or eventuality, he doesn’t know—lost to the encroaching dark.
He knows they won’t be able to handle it alone. He knows they need a warning. They need to know it’s coming.

I can't wait for someone at Bungie to finally go "Hey isn't calling the Cabal what we call them like, antisemetic, especially with Calus' stuff and shit," and they finally decide to give them a real name like Fallen/Eliskni. So we get an entire expansion set up about them and helping restore Torobatl and shit and there's a point where Caiatl is about to refer to their species as the actual name rather than Cabal and every single person who's a huge fan of these funny space rhinos are gonna get so excited...
...and then they're gonna reveal the official name is literally anything other than "Uluran", much to the dismay of fans and their years worth of tags and content created using that as the species true name.
