cursed.

love is the most twisted curse of them all. it consumes you, destroys your morals until you feel nothing but anguish. my love for suguru pained me so much i no longer feel the peace i had with him. the village where he left his button that forced him into my life, the button i carry out of my infatuation but hate for him. his voice that ceased to escape my mind; he spoke my name as if a breath of oxygen from his lungs, as if he knew nothing of the heinous crimes i carried. he was the amalgamation of the light spring breeze, a breeze i haven't felt since the last time i saw him smile at me.

i watched him, not even being offered a last look at his soft glance. my voice refused to expose itself, barely managing to make out the words, "suguru, explain yourself." god, how i wanted to say so much more. i could have changed for him, right? would it be different if i told him i would? he no longer spoke my name as a breath, but in a tone of annoyance i had never heard before. he was beginning to hate me. my yearning that i selfishly hoped he felt too turned out to be unrequited. i was an abandoned dog chasing after its owner to no avail.

internally, i begged. i begged for him to turn around, to return the look he gave me back then, to call my name just once— "are you the strongest because you're satoru gojo? or are you satoru gojo because you're the strongest?" my mind was blank. he was now looking at me, but in a completely different manner. my throat blocked up, i opened my mouth only for no noise to escape. he turned back, walking at such a slow pace as if he knew i wouldn't have it in me. my hands arranged themselves to form hollow purple, yet appeared deformed pointed at him. suguru, my first friend, my first love, my enemy. he was right; i didn't have it in me. despite every muscle in my body telling me— no, screaming at me to complete this godforsaken routine, my soul said otherwise. in one way, my mind told me this would destroy everything, yet my heart was almost nauseatingly selfish. i would rather have him kill and destroy hundreds of innocent non-sorcerers than watch him die at my hand, my choice.

love truly is the most twisted curse of them all.
