Waking up, Sally knows she’s not alone. She doesn’t need to roll over and look around the room to know. She can feel his overwhelming presence filling the air, calmer than it had ever felt before, even in their most serene moments. Her hospital room looked out over the river. From far away, the water always looked still, and the Hudson never churns angrily, yet staring out the window, the water has never looked quite as peaceful. “He’s beautiful,” A familiar voice, deep and warm like the ocean waves heated by the sun.
Sally rolled over, wincing slightly at the pain from the movement, her entire lower body was sore in a way it had never been. The pain was worth it though, it was all worth it, for that little baby being cradled in the arms of a god like he was the most precious thing in the world. Scoffing, Sally teased the god playfully, “You’re just saying that because he looks like you.”
Sea green eyes met hers, filled with sincerity, love, and wonder. Poseidon, the god of the sea, of earthquakes, of storms, the man she loved, and the father of her newly born son. Smiling, Poseidon walked towards the hospital bed where Sally rested, having given birth earlier that very day. “I’m saying that because he looks like you. Sure, he has my eyes, but that nose? That chin? That’s all you, Sally.” Gently, Poseidon sat down on the edge of the bed, holding the baby close to his chest. “What did you name him?”
“Perseus.”
Displeased, Poseidon grunted and shot Sally an angry look, “You named him after my brother’s son?”

Before a storm could begin to brew, Sally cut off Poseidon’s anger, “I named him after the only hero to have a happy ending.”
Guilt washed over Poseidon like the tide, and he softened once more, looking down at his son sadly. Happy endings were rare for demigods and the parents of the young baby were painfully aware how true that would be for their son.
Sighing heavily, Sally asked, “You still won’t tell me what the prophecy says, will you? The reason our son shouldn’t exist, the reason he’s in danger, I can’t know it?”
Poseidon shook his head, forlorn.
“Then there’s no better name for him than Perseus. If just a little luck and a little hope gives him more of a chance then I’ll give it to him, in any way I can.” Smiling slightly, Sally added, “If it makes you feel any better, I plan on calling him Percy.”
“Come with me, both of you,” Poseidon urged.
Sitting up a little more, Sally reached over and lifted her son out of his father’s arms, settling the sleeping infant against her chest. A small and warm squishy baby with chubby cheeks and bright green eyes, he was amazing. He was perfect. He was in danger. Sally would do everything in her limited power to keep him safe, to keep him alive. “We both know we can’t do that, Po,” Sally chided softly, carding a hand through the thick, soft curls that already covered the baby’s head. “If nobody can know about him, coming to live with you will just put him at risk. I can’t let that happen.”
“His life will be dangerous.” Poseidon warned.
“And it wouldn’t be if we came below the sea with you?” Sally shot back, annoyed. “At least here I can protect him whatever way I can. There’s nothing I can do there.”
Standing, Poseidon reached into the front pocket of his bright Hawaiian shirt and pulled out a crisp business card. “There’s going to come a time you won’t be able to protect him anymore.” Handing Sally the card, Poseidon continued, “When that day comes, call this number, you’ll find help and he’ll find a safe haven.” For a moment, Poseidon paused, looking down at Percy and then back up at Sally, “I wish…”
“I know.”
With a nod, Poseidon warned Sally to cover her eyes. She did. In a flash Poseidon was gone. The only proof he ever had existed, let alone been in that room, was the lingering salty smell of the ocean and the green-eyed baby safe in Sally’s embrace. Pressing a gentle kiss to Percy’s forehead, Sally began to sing happy birthday”, the words filling her with warmth at the baby she had carried for nine months. A day would come where she wouldn’t be able to protect him, already now she could do less to keep him safe than she could hours ago when he was still within her. The life he had ahead of him would be hard and dangerous in ways Sally could never predict. He would face horrors and monsters and gods and there would be nothing Sally could do to help him. But she could give him a strong name, she could give him hope, she could guide him as far as she could, and she could wish him “happy birthday” and pray with her very soul for there to be many more to follow.

Things were better before Gabe. Back when it was just Percy and Mommy. He liked their small studio apartment and cuddling in bed. He liked sitting somewhere tucked away when she snuck him into her job at the diner, or the one at the make-up booth, or the one at the butcher shop, and told him to be quiet. She would walk around and sing as she worked to keep him entertained. He liked life like that.
But then the lady with the hairy leg and weird limp and fangs and fire for hair approached him at the park and suddenly Percy and Mommy were moving in with Gabe. Mommy told Percy he imagined the scary lady, but he knew that wasn’t true. He remembered her. It couldn’t be a dream, but Mommy said it was and he trusted Mommy more than scary ladies.
Whether or not the fang lady was real, the next thing Percy knew they were moving into Gabe’s apartment where Percy had his own room, but everything smelled and Mommy never seemed happy. She seemed busier than ever before, and she seemed tired and sad and Gabe was mean to her. Gabe was mean to Percy, too. He said words to Percy that Percy knew were bad and Mommy would scold him but that didn’t stop him. He said things to Percy that Percy did understand, calling him dumb and worthless and a waste. Each word hurt almost as much as the way Gabe’s grip on his arm did when Percy was in his way. Almost.
Everything had gotten worse since they moved in with Gabe, even Percy’s birthday. He was turning five, which was a very big number, but Mommy couldn’t celebrate with him and Percy didn’t want to celebrate with Gabe, not like the jerk would want to eat cake with Percy anyways. Just the other day Mommy and Gabe had gotten in a fight about food and whether it could be blue or not and suddenly everything they ate was blue, which Percy really liked. Blue was his favorite color and blue things tasted better. He would have wanted a blue birthday cake, just to share with Mommy, but she had to work. Instead, Percy went to sleep on his birthday in his empty room with his too big and lonely bed, missing his mom.
Percy didn’t know what time it was when he woke up to gentle fingers running through his hair. Blinking his eyes open, he smiled wide at the sight of his Mommy. She looked like she hadn’t slept in years, her hair was messy and there were bags under her eyes, but she looked so happy to see Percy that everything had to be alright.
“Happy birthday,” Mommy said, pressing a kiss to Percy’s forehead, “I’m sorry I missed most of it, but I brought you this,” She pulled out from behind her back a bright blue chocolate chip cookie. Grinning Percy reached for it. He paused for a moment and looked at his Mommy. She looked happy and sad and tired, and she deserved something good too, so without thinking any harder, Percy split the cookie in half and handed the other half back to her. It was the smaller half, though, it was his birthday after all. Mommy tried to protest but Percy didn’t let her. Birthdays are meant to be shared. There were no candles to blowout, but that was okay. Mommy still sang to him and told him to make a wish, as she promised him, “and many more.”

Dinner ends with the entire camp singing “Happy Birthday” and blue cake that tastes like chocolate appearing on everybody’s plates. Camp ends in two days so Percy is pretty sure most of the campers are only singing because they want the cake to celebrate, but he doesn’t complain.
He had spent the day racing in the canoe lake, beating all the Hermes kids without breaking a sweat. He climbed the lava wall, which he made it nearly halfway up on before he needed to jump into the water below to avoid being burnt, his best record yet. Annabeth still laughed at him from the top, but he knew he would make it up there one day soon. He missed Grover desperately and wished his best friend could have stayed at camp longer, but he did get an IM and was happy to tell him all about beating Annabeth in a duel. She argued that she went easy on him for his birthday, but Percy was pretty sure she was lying. Annabeth never went easy on him. She would never make things easy on him. All of that, plus the camp singing for him whether because he was their friend, a returned hero, or because they just wanted dessert, the day was basically his best birthday ever.
A weird feeling churned in his gut when they reached the end of the song and nobody added, “And many more.” His mom always added “and many more.” To him it was part of the birthday song. Not hearing it felt strange. Looking at the faces of his friends and tense acquaintances (the entire Ares cabin, mostly), realization washed over Percy. Demigods probably don’t like to add “and many more.” Tomorrow, let alone many more years, is never guaranteed for a half-blood. Gruesome death at a tragically young age was the most common fate awaiting the children of gods.
For a moment, Percy pictured his mom’s face every time she sang him happy birthday. It was never fully happy. Her smile never quite reached her eyes as she added her earnest, “and many more.” Percy had always thought it was because she was seeing his dad when she looked at him, but that wasn’t it. Or at least wasn’t it entirely. She was looking at him as a demigod, as a son of Poseidon who should never have been born. His mom didn’t sing “and many more” because it was part of the song, she added it because she was praying for that to be true. She knew the dangers he faced, she knew that he might not have many more, that he probably would have a very short life, yet every year she helped him blow out the candles on his blue birthday cake and added the words, praying for them to be true.
Suddenly, there was nothing Percy wanted more than to be with his mom. The two days between them felt very far apart. Every day it felt like he was learning more about the sacrifices she made to keep him safe and alive and everyday he was loving her a little more. He had the greatest mom in the world, and he would make sure he had many more years just to keep her happy. Also, because he didn’t really want to be dead. Dying at thirteen would suck. Percy wanted many more years for himself, too, even if he didn’t really want to be a half-blood.

sixteen
Being alive was amazing. Percy was sure it was something he would never take for granted again. He had woken up that morning certain that it would be his last and resigned to his fate if it meant his friends would live on without him. Instead, he was walking Annabeth back to her cabin, heart bursting with happiness, and their hands linked together. It was dark out, but the harpies were told to let the campers have free reign of the camp, just for that night. There had been enough pain and suffering for one day. If the campers wanted to seek comfort from their friends with a different godly parent or solace in the fresh air of a safe world, they were granted that freedom.
Percy and Annabeth had taken advantage of the lack of harpies and stayed under the canoe lake long after it had grown dark, and their friends had realized they would not come to the surface any time soon. Most of their time in their private bubble under the water was spent kissing. It was new, it was exciting, and it was very well deserved for both of them. They talked, too. One of the best things about the two of them together was that they could talk. The past year filled with tension and anger and worry made it hard for them to talk but finally they were both unburdened and honest and able to share conversation once more. Talking with Annabeth, actually talking and sharing his feelings rather than swapping sharp barbs laced with hidden meaning, felt like coming home. Holding her hand felt like coming home, too. Kissing her felt like… it felt like the future. A future he had never imagined.
It was nearing midnight when they reached her cabin, only having come to the surface when Percy started yawning and they feared his control over their air bubble would fade with his exhaustion. Reaching the porch of the Athena Cabin, Percy was reluctant to let go of Annabeth’s hand. There was so much that still needed to be said, apologies, explanations, confessions. Leaving her, even for a moment felt wrong. He paused, opening his mouth trying to think of something to say.
As if reading his mind, Annabeth cut off his unformed sentence with a short kiss, something Percy was already coming to realize they would both be doing a lot, kissing and using it to interrupt the other one. When she pulled back she promised, “We can talk tomorrow, okay?”
Tomorrow. The word felt foreign. He had spent so long counting all his tomorrows up until sixteen, not knowing if there would be another. Tomorrow had never felt promised and suddenly he had a lifetime, a real lifetime not a shortened demigod lifetime, of tomorrows ahead of him. It was his sixteenth birthday and suddenly he felt like he was born all over again. For the first time, maybe since he was born, maybe since he was twelve, maybe since he heard the prophecy earlier that summer, he had tomorrows to look forward to.
Gods. It was his sixteenth birthday. He barely saw his mom. He would need to go into the city tomorrow and tell her everything. Which he could do, because he had a tomorrow. Clearly, Annabeth could tell his thoughts were spiraling, because she kissed him again. Or, as he looked at the soft smile on her lips, he thought she might just have wanted to kiss him again because she could.
There was a lot that could be said tomorrow, but there was one thing that had to be said before midnight. Kissing him again, Annabeth mumbled a fond, “Happy birthday.” She kissed him again. Percy was really starting to love this new development. “And here’s to many more.”
A broad smile burst across Percy’s face. There would be many more and all of them would be spent with Annabeth, he was sure.

twenty-one
Just over a month ago they had celebrated Annabeth’s birthday. Twenty-one was a big birthday to celebrate, becoming legal after all was exciting, even if alcohol was always easy to come by when you were friends with the Stoll brothers. Yet Annabeth had celebrated hard, getting drunker than Percy had ever seen her. He happily nursed her through her hangover and wiped dried vomit from her mouth. In her drunken haze, she had repeatedly told him how much she loved him and Percy would reply fondly that he felt the same. Each time he said that she would light up, joy radiating through the alcohol induced fogginess.
Percy’s twenty-first birthday was very different from his girlfriend’s. It was different from all of his friends’ twenty-first birthdays because Percy did not drink. The smell of alcohol made his stomach recoil, which showed how much he adored Annabeth that he still tended to her when she reeked of cheap vodka. Beer, liquor, wine, it all reminded Percy too much of Gabe. The smell would bring him back to that disgusting apartment and suddenly he would feel rough hands grabbing him and throwing him around and the sharp burn of a cigarette the one time he pressed it to Percy’s skin before Sally nearly murdered him, before Sally actually murdered him. Percy tried drinking, once. He threw up after one beer. He felt sick to his stomach the moment he tasted it.
On his twenty-first birthday, Percy didn’t drink. He didn’t go to a bar or a club like all of his friends had to celebrate theirs. Instead, Percy had a small party on the beach. Sure, there were drinks for everyone else, but Percy was happy drinking his blue Coke and playing in the water with his girlfriend.
When it came time to sing and blow out candles, his mom appeared like a baking goddess, with a large blue cake covered in iced ocean waves. Even without any alcohol in his system, Percy felt warm and giddy as he blew out the candles. Surrounded by his friends, his family, and holding the hand of the love of his life, there was no other way he could feel. As everyone wished him many more birthdays to come, Percy grinned, because he knew they were only going to keep getting better.
---
twenty-seven
Throughout his life, Percy Jackson has been called many different things and held many different titles. Son, husband, bad kid, demigod, hero. There are plenty more things he has never been called. He was never once a “pleasure to have in class,” not even from Chiron, and he most certainly was never called a morning person. Life as a demigod, then as an Olympic athlete, and after that as a firefighter, meant Percy frequently had to wake up early. He never enjoyed doing that. He never liked leaving his bed and facing the day, not when he could stay curled up and wait a little longer. Birthdays, aside from the ones during a literal war, were always his guaranteed day to sleep in. Annabeth, his mom, everybody, knew not to wake him before 11 at the earliest. Everybody except the person who just a few months earlier who had given him his newest and favorite title: Dad.
Sharp and loud cries, Sophie’s feed me screams, woke Percy and Annabeth at roughly the same time. It was early, the sun was just starting to peek through the curtains but was not fully risen. Instead of feeling annoyed to be woken so early, Percy felt elated. His daughter woke him up. A little piece of him and Annabeth brought to life with light brown hair and Percy’s eyes. She was perfect in ways Percy could never have expected and filled him with so much happiness that waking up before sunrise on his birthday didn’t upset him.
“Go back to sleep,” Annabeth mumbled, “I’ve got her.”
Grinning, already wide awake, Percy gently pushed Annabeth back down to the bed and she happily buried her face into her pillow, already snoring again despite her denial that she ever snored. Percy took a single moment to push a curl out of Annabeth’s face and press a kiss to her cheek. The baby was still crying so he didn’t take long and hurried down the hallway toward his wailing daughter.
“Good morning,” Percy said softly as he pulled Sophie out of her crib. The cries lessened for a moment when she realized someone was paying attention to her, but resumed just as quickly when she realized she wasn’t immediately being fed. “Hold your horses,” Percy playfully chided, “It’s daddy’s birthday, you know, give your old man a little time to get your bottle ready.”
Uncaring and unable to understand, Sophie kept sobbing. Bouncing her slightly as he walked, Percy moved around the kitchen, prepping her bottle one handed. Through the window, he could see the sun slowly rise higher and the sky start to brighten to a clear blue. Birthdays used to be meant for sleeping in. One day he would have many more chances to do so, but his first birthday with his daughter, that was something that would only happen once and Percy planned to cherish that.
---
thirty-two
The fates said that reaching sixteen was against all odds and yet Percy had officially doubled that number. Thirty-two years ago, he was born when he was never supposed to exist, sixteen years ago he had survived a war that prophesied his demise. Considering everything, reaching his thirty-second birthday should have been impossible. Percy should have been dead a dozen times over. He had fought gods, titans, and primordial beings, he had blown up a volcano and his heart kept beating, he had walked through the darkest pit of the Underworld and come out breathing. Odds said Percy should have been dead before he was sixteen, yet there he was, thirty-two.
Sitting on the cabin porch, watching the sunset over the ocean and the light catch on the waves, the numbers and probabilities kept rolling around Percy’s mind. He had an amazing life. He was married to his best friend, he had two perfect daughters, he had a job he loved, and a future that seemed never ending. Sixteen years ago, none of what he had seemed possible. On his thirty-second birthday it was his reality and it felt like a miracle every day.
Lost in his head, Percy didn’t hear the footsteps behind him. He didn’t startle, though, when arms wrapped around his shoulders. They were familiar, tan and warm. The scars littering the skin were familiar ones, Percy knew the story behind every healed wound that left its permanent mark. Leaning back, Percy looked up at his wife and smiled. Carding her fingers lovingly through his curls, which were a few days overdue for a haircut, Annabeth asked, “Drachma for your thoughts, birthday boy?”
Tugging on her arm to bring her around the couch to sit beside him, Percy protested, “My thoughts have to be worth at least two drachmas.”
Annabeth shook her head, “Friends and family discount,” She settled on the couch, leaning against Percy’s shoulder and kicking her feet up on the coffee table in front of them. “Technically, I think I should get those thoughts for free, so the drachma is generous.”
“The thoughts are about you, so I guess I can donate them,” Percy wrapped an arm around Annabeth’s shoulder and brought her close, “Just this once.”
“How generous.”
“For you?” Percy pressed a quick kiss to Annabeth’s lips, “Always.”
Tilting her head back to get a better look at Percy’s face, Annabeth asked sincerely, “What are you thinking about? When I came back out after putting the girls to bed, you had this…aura, I guess. I could tell you were thinking and thinking hard.”
Thirty-two had felt impossible. Half a lifetime ago tomorrow felt impossible. He thought of his mom and her hopes and dreams of many more birthdays and those desires had come to fruition. “I was supposed to die sixteen years ago,” Percy shrugged, “And here I am, celebrating my birthday, officially having spent half my life in a relationship with my wonderful wife, with two incredible daughters asleep just inside, and a beautiful sunset in front of me.” Gratitude overwhelmed Percy. He paused and looked at Annabeth, her hair was glowing golden, catching the rays of the sinking sun. Her eyes were sparkling, bright with love and understanding. She was ethereal, she was everything. “I guess….” Percy trailed off for a moment, then looked out at the sun, just starting to drop below the horizon, “I guess I’m just looking forward to tomorrow and the many more to come.”

you're holding the heart of mine
Poseidon knew.
He knew that one day, Sally would move on.
That he would leave her, and she would cry over it, but then someone new would sweep her off her feet, and she would be happy.
But as he looked at her, her bright blue eyes, her big smile, he found he didn’t want that to happen.
So he let himself succumb to temptation, and did not pull away.
~*~
That was a mistake.
A child came from the union, and when Sally tells him she is pregnant, he panics.
This was not supposed to happen.
When he tells her, she is furious. “What do you mean, this was not supposed to happen?” She demands. “I tell you we will have a child, and this is your reaction?”
“Sally,” He says pleadingly, “You must understand, I am a god!”
“I know!” She said sharply, “But what does this have to do with our child?”
He lowered his voice. “My brother has forbidden us from having children. Do you know what lengths he will go to rid any Forbidden Child that poses a threat to Olympus?”
She pales, but places one hand firmly on her stomach. “I cannot let him go, Poseidon.” She says, scared but determined.
“It will be hard,” He warns her, “You will have to face much suffering.”
“I will do anything for my baby.” She raises her head high, and Poseidon knew there would be nothing he could do to sway her.
Poseidon drew in a breath. “Very well.”
~*~
Their child is born, and Poseidon cannot help but visit him.
He approaches her bed, and she smiles weakly at him.
He stares at the little boy, his black hair so much like his own.
“What is his name?” He asks.
“Perseus. Perseus Jackson.”
He tilts his head. “But that is the name of my brother’s son.”
She shakes her head. “I did not name him for his heritage. I named him Perseus for a happy ending to my son’s tale.”
Oh. Poseidon’s smile became a little forced. He didn’t have the heart to tell Sally that happy endings did not come often. Even Heracles did not receive rest even after he was bestowed godhood. He stroked the babe’s head. “He will be a great hero,” He said instead.
Sally smiles. “I know.”
~*~
The next time he visits, their is another man’s ring on her finger.
He does not let the jealousy loose, he does not tear the house down with waves to remove the competition. Instead, he asks, “Who?”
Sally sighs. It was not a lovesick sigh, thank the gods. “His name is Gabe Ugliano.”
That man is not worthy of you, Poseidon thinks. But then again, he would never think any mortal would be worthy of Sally Jackson, queen among women.
“Why?” He asks her.
She twists the ring on her finger. Poseidon desperately wanted to take it off and throw it away. “H-his scent,” She says carefully, “It will mask Percy.”
A brilliant idea, but… “Is he a good man? Does he treat you well?”
She inhales, and Poseidon knows the answer before she says it. “No. The answer is no.”
Poseidon grimaces, the rage bubbling up inside him, begging to be freed. Sally takes his hand. “It’s the best option to protect him,” She says.
Poseidon swallows and nods. “Of course.”
~*~
The man is gone at last, killed by Medusa’s head. Poseidon made sure Hades knew that Gabe deserved the worst of punishments.
He came to visit, one final time.
Sally opens the door, surprised.
“Poseidon?” She asks softly.
He clears his throat. “How– how are you? How is,” He waves his hand, “Everything?”
She smiles. “Good,” She says. “I have a daughter, now.”
There was a small sinking feeling in his stomach. “That’s– that’s wonderful.” He croaks. “What’s her name?”
“Estelle. Estelle Blofis.”
Poseidon looks at Sally. She’s no longer Jackson. She’s a Blofis, with a young, curious daughter, a brave, bold son, and a husband who will not leave her like he did.
A queen among women deserved a family like that.
She did not deserve having to settle for Poseidon.
“I’m happy for you,” He tells her, and he means it.
He leaves, for the final time.

Dear Fanfiction writers, If you want to do a female Percy Jackson Fanfiction or a Percy Jackson's sister fanfiction, for fuck's sake, stop calling her Persephone? Must I remind you, that Sally Jackson named Percy "Perseus" because he was one of the few greek heroes, who had a happy ending? Do you really believe she would go:" My son? Oh, I'm gonna name him after one of the few heroes survived in hopes that he will have a happy ending himself" just so she can go like two seconds later "Well, my daughter? How about naming her after the goddess that was kidnapped by the god of the underworld and was forced to marry him and is probably really unhappy about this, because this way, she can't see her mother, who she dearly loved, in one third of the year. Yeah, a brilliant idea. Let's hope she won't end this way!" Like, common. That doesn't make sense. And please, don't come at me like:" This isn't true, I've read in this and that retelling, that she went down there by her own will and-" Shut up.
I don't know if this is true. But even in the books of Rick Riordan it is clear, that she was kidnapped so we go along with this in this universe.
Why can't you name her after a person, that actually had a happy ending? What about Ariadne? I know, that she had quite a shitty life for some time, but in the end, she married the man she loved and even became a goddess! And can you imagine the face of Dionysus when he realises that the sister of this annoying child is named after his wife? Would he pissed or would he have a little soft spot for her, because she acts so much like her and could be Ariadne's daughter? Or Psyche. I mean, she too had a rough life ( What hero didn't) but she too had her kind of happy ending. She too became a goddess, married the man she loved ( at least in the versin of the myth Riordan chose) and her name even starts with a P. Or use a name of one of the muses. Just, stop with this persephone thing. Please, after what feels like thousands of fanfics it starts to become boring.

i’d love to hear more about the thoughts behind the name choices for gender bent olivia because i am once again crying over the fact sally jackson named her son perseus because he was the only hero in greek mythology to have a happy ending 😭😭😭😭😭 (percy jackson is only the icon he is because of sally 😤)
The thought process was that I was working very quickly trying to get a name so I could stop using [your name] and I initially thought about Shakespeare names (Olivia is a character in twelfth night) but I rapidly turned away from that (what was it gonna be? Puck? Benedick? Mercutio? Like. I wasn't really finding one that would work) and rather than continue to spend time on a deep dive into the vast English canon I pivoted to my own wheelhouse which is classics, but Serena would certainly have a familiarity with those myths and philosophers as well even if she focused her course of study elsewhere. So in the approx two minutes I spent thinking about this I chose names with powerful but tragic stories. Serena is not picking a name with a happy ending for her boy. I'm partial to Jason, actually, I don't like the name itself but the story, and Serena choosing it for her baby, and we're all doomed by the narrative aren't we

Hello there! I'm the anon with the Percy being Patrochilles' love child ask. Can I ask for some headcanons of modern!patrochilles adopting Percy?
OMG HELLO MODERN!PATROCHILLES PERCY LOVE CHILD ANON who simply put that thought into my brain and is also legendary....... lemme whip something up for you :’) so in this au i’ll do it as modern!patrochilles legit adopt percy as their lovechild bc this is an au and i can do what i want LMFAO (it feels so weird not having sally in here but i will add her somehow regardless bc she’s the QUEEN) hope you enjoy friend!!!
- patroclus & achilles see percy and see his wide bright sea-green eyes looking up at them and they mirror achilles’ spearmint green eyes and reminds achilles of patroclus’ skops nickname, and percy’s hair is dark like patroclus’ and is tan like him too and he has a giggle that is like a melody and both of them think. okay he is ours and then they get told that his name is “perseus” aka the only demigod that lived a long & safe life and they have a sense of relief and think. wow he really is ours
- on the ride home percy is a little quiet but he has a sense of happiness and can’t really put it into words, and patroclus holds percy’s tiny little hand and tells him that they’re all gonna be a family and tells him how lucky he & achilles feel that they have a beautiful joy in their life and perseus smiles and achilles is driving and trying not to cry bc he can see how beautiful a son perseus is going to be and how beautiful a dad patroclus already is
- now. patroclus would be the kind, soft, warm, empathetic, semi-strict parent who always gives the best advice, wants there to be a two way street of trust, honesty, and respect and he is such a soft dad and achilles would be the fun, wild card, dorky dad who protects his child with a fervor and relates to perseus & is very loving just like patroclus and is Iike the best friend dad, and the entire time they’re both so loving to percy & sometimes patroclus is rolling his eyes playfully and is like “i’m raising TWO kids” after perseus & achilles have blue paint on themselves after making an art project for patroclus that he looks at & admires and tears up at while putting it on the wall :’)
- percy calls them lily & pat sometimes and they call him perse, perseus, and cici <3
- they all like to celebrate the holidays and they give each other valentine’s day cards and patrochilles put a stuffed animal, his favorite candy, and some lil extra presents on percy’s bed after he comes from school. on halloween they dress percy up like a lil guppy and pat has his pumpkin costume and achilles w his greek god costume & they all go trick or treating and both percy & achilles ask for candy while pat is just chastising achilles and telling him “you better share w perseus” hehe and on christmas it’s filled w love, laughter, cheer, & tons of presents on all sides :’) percy gives them homemade drawings and the sweetest cards and patrochilles give him a photo framed of all three of them + their golden retriever puppy chiron, a polaroid, and a certificate saying that they adopted a baby seal in perseus’ name <3
- they keep every little card that they give each other and they have scrapbooks and albums and they want to carry these memories forever :’) and omg when it’s percy’s bday it is simply WILD! fast forward a couple years later it’s so much fun and they eat cake and have a great summer picnic outside w all of percy’s friends and yes everyone is checking achilles & patroclus out bc they’re valid and they all have such a grand ol’ time :’) annabeth, jason, frank, hazel, and will talk to patroclus a lot and piper, leo, nico, reyna, and thalia talk to achilles a lot and they all intermingle and percy is just so happy that everyone is getting along and they all tell him that his dads are the coolest and so kind and funny and he feels a rush of pride
- also patrochilles are DILFs. no i will not elaborate and i will not allow someone to disagree with me. they’re DILFs and it’s time to accept it and honor it (achilles a proud DILF, patroclus rolling his eyes while blushing when he gets called that)
- fast forward to many years later and perseus has went through his awkward pre-teen years in which he talked to patroclus all about it bc he could relate and achilles was there to provide moral support bc even if he didn’t go through it he wants his son to know that everything he felt was valid and completely normal! now that percy has grown into his own he still knows that he can talk to them about his feelings but he also has a feeling of confidence in him
- i also think that every demigod has adhd so achilles can relate to perseus on that and patroclus helps perseus w his dyslexia and will stay up into the late hours of the night helping him with homework while achilles cuts up some fruit & figs for them to eat and he gives them both kisses and moral support and many needed breaks & snacks
- also fun fact a book percy has to read is by the infamous sally jackson who is literally patroclus’ favorite writer of ALL time and he’s so hype and he has written sally multiple times and is in correspondence with her and one time he was like “you should come by” and sally says “ofc!” and she ends up doing just that, she comes by their apartment and pat is Shook and mixing up his words and all that can come out is “i Love book” and achilles has to translate everything he says and perseus tells her how much he admires her writing and how the hell did she come up w the idea of gods & demigods and how did she have prose so beautiful while speaking of them? and sally just winks and percy smiles and feels like he understands :’) towards the end sally leaves and made sure to sign all of pat’s books and gives them a bust of poseidon who is her favorite god & he nearly passes out and she gives perseus a trident necklace that he will wear forever bc he knows it means something to her and for some reason, it means something to him too
- and LISTEN! perseus has grown into his own and is absolutely beautiful! he has bright green eyes and a lil eyebrow slit that he accidentally got while playing in the park in which patrochilles were so afraid but kept it together after patroclus patched him up, he is tan & tall w jet black hair with a deep & melodic voice, and he has the empathy, kindness, leadership, strength, wisdom, and badassery that was innate/instilled in him by his wonderful parents. patroclus the entire time is like damn those demigod genes!!!! making my baby boy look like a model just like his father smh what about me!!!! and achilles is like babe you’re gorgeous and perseus is like yeah dad you’re great
- and achilles and patroclus do a double take bc the entire time leading up to this percy never really called them dad he just called them nicknames or petnames and all of sudden the dam breaks and everyone is crying and hugging and achilles and patroclus both give percy the biggest kiss on either side of his cheek and percy’s face is being Squished but he doesn’t mind bc he can feel their love :’)
- and lemme tell y’all something achilles had a feeling his baby boy was a demigod after seeing all those monsters and creatures and patroclus could always see through the mist and growing up they wanted him to have a normal life, but achilles wanted percy to be able to protect himself so he taught percy how to fight & patroclus taught him stuff that he learned from medical school and how to patch himself/others up & percy is very well versed in all aspects and is very grateful for this
- percy is a troublemaker and sarcastic little shit who loves to curse and he really gets that from achilles & he is also sensitive, warm, empathetic and in touch with his emotions and he gets that from patroclus and he is the true lovechild of both of those dorks
- basically listen i could talk about them for hours and i can make so many of these but i know how long imma end up making this so lemme just say this: i love modern!patrochilles they’d be the best dads and i love perseus and they’re just a big happy family bc they DESERVE it <3 and maybe YOU know something that they don’t about sally ;) i didn’t know how i’d go about writing this but i hope you liked it! lemme know! <3 and so sorry this is all over the place hehe i know it’s scattered and long but i hope you like it! :’)

The birth of Heros. Part 1.
The birth of Hero's.
Part 1.
Perseus Jackson.
The 18th of August 1993 is a day that will change the world forever, the day a Hero is born.
It has been approximately 7 months since 23-year-old Sally Jackson found out she was pregnant, and since she found out that the man she was seeing, was actually the Greek God, Poseidon, God of the seas.  Sally has been able to see through The Mist (as Poseidon told her it is called) all through her life, she has seen some very strange things, so it didn’t take her long to believe that Poseidon was who he claimed to be.
When Sally told Poseidon about the baby, he acted as though it were both the best thing in the world and the worst thing that could ever happen. He explained to Sally that after World War II, he and his brothers Zeus and Hades, the big 3 Gods, made a pact to not have any more children, as they were simply too powerful. If Zeus and Hades found out that Sally was pregnant with Poseidon's child, they would be furious beyond words, and both Sally and the baby would be in grave danger. For this reason, Poseidon left shortly after Sally told him about the baby, though he did promise to try and check in on her and the baby when he could.
Though Sally understood why Poseidon had to leave, she was still deeply hurt, and is terrified of being a single mother. She has very little to no experience with children, she has always been an only child and had no younger cousins or anything.
She did briefly consider placing the baby for adoption, after all she only has a small 2-bedroom house, with very little savings, no car and only a part-time job. However, after thinking about it for a while, Sally realized that her child’s best chance is with her, she knows the dangers he will face in life, and knows that she is the best person to protect him from them, so she decided to take on a second job and save every single penny she could. She had to quit her second job when she was 7 months pregnant and her doctor warned her that she was showing early warning signs of Pre-eclampsia, she needed to do what she could to lower her blood pressure,  but she did manage to save quite a bit, and is now eagerly awaiting the arrival of her baby.
Currently she is only a week away from her due date, so when she is pulled from her sleep by a sharp pain in her lower abdomen, it doesn’t take her long to realize that the pain is a contraction.  Once the pain passes, she gets out of bed and gathers her things for the hospital, before heading to the kitchen to make herself breakfast, the pains aren’t too bad yet and are quiet infrequent, and Sally figures once labor really gets going, eating will be the last thing on her mind, so it’s best she have something now.
20 minutes after feeling the first contraction, Sally carries her breakfast into the living room, where she can sit comfortably on the sofa. When she steps into the living room, she notices that the fire is still going, she must have forgot to put it out before she went to bed.
Sally steps up to the fire and scrapes a portion of her food into the flames, an offering to the Gods.
“Please.” Sally quietly says. “Eileithyia Goddess of birth, please watch over my baby and I, please make sure we’re okay and nothing happens to us.”
Two hours later, Sally makes her way to the hospital when the contractions start to become more intense and closer together. It is only when she is surrounded by other laboring people and sees all the support and love they have, that Sally realizes just how truly alone she feels. She desperately wishes Poseidon could be here, or her mother, anyone at all really, though really, she won’t be alone for much longer, in a few hours, she’ll have her baby.
4 hours later, after a long, painful labor, Sally is right on the verge of bringing her baby into the world.
“You’re doing absolutely wonderful Sally, just one more push now, okay?” The midwife calmly and gently says. Sally nods, takes a deep breath, grips onto the railing on the bed, and pushes. A few seconds later, just as the baby is born, the lights in the room flicker on and off for a brief second. In the moment Sally is too tired and concerned about her baby to think much of it, but later when she looks back on the moment, she will realize that it was a sure sign that a Hero had been born.
“I-is my baby okay?” Sally asks in a labored, breathy tone, trying to catch a glimpse of her baby at the end of the bed.
“Yes, absolutely perfect. You have a little boy, Sally. Congratulations.” The midwife softly says, passing the baby up to Sally, who immediately puts her arms around him and pulls him close.
“Oh, hello baby, hi Percy, I love you so much.” She coos, stroking his cheek and gazing at him in awe. He looks so much like his dad, with a mop of thick wavy black hair identical to Poseidon's, sea blue/green eyes just like his father, and Poseidon's nose and eye shape, while he has Sally’s mouth and bone structure.
“Percy, that’s a lovely name. Is it short for anything?” A nurse asks, standing at Sally’s side and gently cleaning little Percy down with a soft towel.
“Perseus, Perseus James Jackson.” Sally quietly says. When she was 6 months pregnant, Sally had chosen one boys name and one girls name. For a girl, she had chosen Estelle Rhea Jackson, Estelle after her late mother, and Rhea after Poseidon's mother. For a boy, she had chosen Perseus James Jackson. Perseus after one of the only hero's in Greek history, to have a happy ending, and James after her late father, Jim.
“Oh, that’s lovely, it suits him!” The nurse kindly says, smiling at the new mother and her baby. “I think so too.” Sally softly says, stroking Percy’s thick locks of hair, holding him close to her and basking in the amazing love she feels for this tiny little person, who she made. Without a doubt, Percy is the best thing she has ever accomplished in all her life.
Sally and Percy remain in hospital for two more days, and when Sally’s doctor tells her she and Percy can be discharged, she is simultaneously thrilled and terrified, she is excited to get back home and settle in with Percy, but she’s also afraid of being on her own with Percy for the first time, since he was born she’s had nurses and midwives to help her with feeding him, changing his diaper, bathing him, etc. Now she’ll have to do it alone.
Thankfully, Percy’s first few days at home pass by smoothly. He is mostly a very happy and content little baby, he hardly ever fusses and loves to be held and swaddled. Already, he seems drawn to the ocean. Sally has walked down to the beach with him a few times and stood watching the sea with Percy in her arms, thinking of Poseidon as the waves lapped at her feet and lulled Percy to sleep.
One day when Percy is two weeks old, as Sally lies in bed with Percy tucked up to her side, sleeping peacefully while she catches up on some reading, there is a knock on the door. Sally furrows her brow in confusion, as she sets her book down and gets up to answer the door, even though she is not expecting someone.
When Sally opens the door a few seconds later, she comes face to face with a ghost. Or so she thinks, for a minute anyway, because standing in front of her with his wild black hair windswept, dressed in shorts, sandals and a Hawaiian t-shirt, is Poseidon.
“P-P-Poseidon? I....” Sally trails off, at a complete loss for words. She never expected to see Percy’s father again, even though he promised he would try to check in on her and Percy whenever he could.
“Hello Sally, you’re looking beautiful as ever. How are you?” Poseidon calmly asks.
“I.... What are you doing here? I thought.... you left.” Sally asks in a breathy tone. Poseidon gives her a sympathetic smile.
“I’m afraid it’s just a visit, but I heard from Naiads that you had the baby and I... I was wondering if I could meet him, or her?” He asks in a sheepish tone. Only Sally Jackson could make a God sheepish.
“I.... yes of course you can, come in.” Sally says, opening the door wider for him. She then leads him back into her bedroom, where Percy is still sleeping soundly on the bed, exactly where she left him. Carefully Sally gathers the baby up into her arms and turns to face Poseidon.
“This is Percy, Perseus James Jackson.” She softly says, pulling the blankets down from around his face so Poseidon can see him.
“He.... Sally he’s absolutely perfect.” Poseidon quietly says, in a tone of awe. Carefully he reaches out to stroke the baby’s cheek. “Hello Percy, my boy. You’re going to be a strong little one, just like your name sake.”
“Do you want to hold him?” Sally asks. Poseidon nods wordlessly and Sally carefully passes their son to him. Poseidon's whole face lights up with a smile, when Percy blinks his eyes open and peers up at him curiously.
“It’s nice to meet you Percy, I’m afraid I won’t be able to around much, I wish I could, but it would just put you and your mother in danger. Don’t worry though, I know your mother is more than capable of caring for you and loving you, giving you a wonderful life, and I will look out for you in any way I can, you won’t suffer like your siblings before you, not if I have anything to do with it.” Poseidon has never been so in love with one of his children before, then again, he has never loved someone like he loves Sally.
“He looks just like you.” Sally softly says, resting her hand on Poseidon's arm and watching him watching Percy.
“I think he looks like you, poor little fellow wouldn’t want to be stuck with my looks when he could look like his beautiful mother, isn’t that right Percy?” Poseidon coos, running a hand over his son’s mop of thick black hair.
Poseidon stays for another hour, catching up with Sally and never once letting go of little Percy. Both and he Sally wish it could be like this all the time, Poseidon would happily give up his powers, his throne on Olympus and his immortality, just to be with Sally and raise Percy with her. Of course, it can never happen. He would have to tell Zeus and the other Olympians why he was giving up his Olympian throne, and if Zeus and Hades found out about Percy and Sally, they would stop at nothing to destroy them.
“I should be going soon.” Poseidon quietly says, an hour later. He is sitting on the sofa, with Percy lying in his lap watching in fascination as his father summons little orbs of water for Percy to play with. Sally is curled up beside Poseidon, her head resting on his shoulder.
“Five more minutes? Stay and help me put Percy down for his nap? Please?” Sally asks, wanting to have as much time with Poseidon as possible.
“Alright.”
Five minutes later, Poseidon carefully lowers his son into his crib, making sure the blue blanket with a pattern of seashells on it, is wrapped securely around him. Once he is sure Percy is settled and content, he turns to Sally.
“I’m afraid I really must be going now Sally, I will try and visit again soon, certainly before Percy’s first birthday, but I simply can’t make any promises.” He gently explains, his heart cracking in two at the look of hurt on Sally’s face. He would give anything to wipe that hurt away, and it kills him to know he is the cause of it.
“I understand, thank you for today.” Sally quietly says. Poseidon takes one last look at Percy, presses a kiss to Sally’s forehead and then disappears in a breeze of sea-scented air.
As if sensing his father has left for the second time, Percy starts to fuss and cry in his crib. Sally quickly gathers him up and settles onto the bed with him in her arms.
“It’s alright Percy, mama’s here, I’ve got you baby. No matter what, I’ll always be here.” Sally quietly says.
And for the next 14 years Sally stays true to her word, marrying an abusive man just so his mortal smell would mask Percy’s demi-god smell and protect him from the monsters, and endangering her life to make sure Percy safely gets to Camp Half-Blood when he is 12. Then, when Percy is 13, Sally meets a wonderful man named Paul Blofis, who makes her incredibly happy and is extremely good to Percy. Sally and Paul quickly fall in love and marry when Percy is 15 and two years later, after a lot more heartbreak and fear, they welcome a beautiful baby girl that they name Estelle. Percy is a wonderful big brother and extremely protective of Estelle, while Estelle herself is absolutely obsessed with her brother and always wants to be around him.
At present, Percy is 18 and Estelle is 1, and they are the sweetest brother-sister duo in practically everyone’s minds, though Nico di Angelo and Hazel Levesque don’t come too far behind the Jackson-Blowfis siblings.
Currently, Percy is out with Annabeth, celebrating their 2-year anniversary, while Paul and Sally have a quiet evening in with Estelle, who they have just put down to bed for the night. They stand in front of her crib, Paul with his arm around Sally’s waist, both just watching and admiring their sweet and beautiful daughter.
“You know.” Paul quietly says. “A lot of people think Percy gets his strength from his dad, and he does, his magical strength anyway, but his mental and emotional strength and his huge and open heart and mind, that’s all you Sally. I know Percy had rough childhood, but he’s a great kid, and that’s all thanks to you, I’ll probably get struck down for this, but I think you’re more of a Goddess than Hera or Athena or any of the other Olympian Goddesses.”
Sally turns and smiles softly at her husband, pulling him down for a brief kiss.
“He is pretty great, and Estelle is going to be just as wonderful, if she doesn’t blow the world up before her next birthday.” Sally laughs, knowing the kind of mischief her daughter can get up to, whenever Percy brings her to camp, she is very popular with the Hermes’ kids.
The next morning, Sally has a meeting with her book agent and Paul has a class to teach, so Percy happily agreed to watch Estelle for the day. Right now, they’re both sitting on the sofa in the living room, Percy bouncing Estelle on his lap, as fast as he can, making her giggle like crazy. It warms Sally’s heart to see her two children together, so happy despite everything.
“Alright, I better get going, I’ll be back before lunch.” Sally says, bending to kiss Percy on the cheek and managing to peck Estelle on the forehead, before she squirms away.
“Bye mom, see you soon.” Percy says, trying to hold Estelle steady.
“I love you babies.” Sally softly says, brushing Percy’s hair back and lightly tapping Estelle on the nose.
“Love you too mom.” Percy says.
“Daddy!” Estelle exclaims, even though Paul left half an hour ago. So far, she refuses to say mama, only daddy, and ‘ercy’ (her adorable way of pronouncing ‘Percy’).
Sally gives them both one more kiss, before heading out.
“Alright troublemaker let’s get you dressed and then we can go see everyone at camp! You wanna see Annabeth, and Grover? I bet you wanna see Nico too, and Rachel and Piper, and oh of course you’re gonna want to see Tyson, huh?” Percy lists off his friend's names, standing up with Estelle on his hip.
As Percy wrestles Estelle into her clothes, he thinks about how strong his mom was to do this for him, every single day all by herself, for years, while also knowing that someday, he would have to learn about his dad and go to camp, which must have been terrifying for her.
“You know Essie.” Percy quietly says, pulling a jumper over Estelle’s head. “Your dad’s right, our mom is ten times more of a Goddess than Athena or Hera or anyone else, and I don’t care if I get struck down for saying that because it’s true, now let’s go find what odd bits and pieces we can at camp and we can build our mom her own temple, just like a Goddess deserves.”

Percy Jackson’s Birthday Pt.2
“ Let get this party started!!!” yelled Leo as he ran into the ocean. The crowd laughed and followed what Leo was doing, while some were hanging out next to food bar, others hangout on deck chair getting a tan. Percy take out his surf that Sally got him, being the son of Poseidon surfing naturally came to him.  Yet, that didn’t stop Leo from challenging Percy to a surfing race. Needless to say, Leo lost.
“ Hey! You cheated!”  said Leo,
“ Sure, Leo.” Said Percy as he rolled his eyes.
Leo and Percy stared at each other for a minute, then started to laugh uncontrollably. About five minutes later,  the laughing stopped due to the fact that Leo and Percy had food stuff in their mouth. Percy was eating a cheeseburger while Leo was eating some pepperoni pizza. After eating, both of their stomachs were full of goods. Leo and Percy sat next to Piper, Annabeth, and Calypso, drinking a blueberry smoothie.
“ Annabeth,” asked Leo, “ Wanna see who is a better builder?”
“ At what?” replied Annabeth whose eyebrows were raised
   “ Sandcastles.” Said Leo
“ You are so going to lose, Leo.” said Annabeth
“ Are you sure about that?” replied Leo
Annabeth nodded, “ Yep, you better watch out.”
“ Leo, I don’t really think you should -” Said Piper
“ Pips, whose side are you on?” asked Annabeth
Piper looked at Leo then Annabeth,  “ You know what, I am going to find Jason.” And with that, Piper left to find Jason.
“ Percy, you are on my side right?” asked Annabeth
“ Calypso, You on team Leo?” asked Leo
   Percy and Calypso nodded.
“ Okay, Let get started then -”
“ Wait, instead of Team Leo or like Team Annabeth, you guys should go team Althea and Team Hephaestus.” Said Percy
“ I like that idea, how about you?” asked Leo
Annabeth nodded her head in approval, clearly ready to beat Leo. Leo counted down to three, “ Let the contest begin.”
It has been a good hour, everyone had crowded around Annabeth and Leo to see their sandcastles. Both of their sandcastles were beautifully made yet similar.  At the top of Annabeth’s sandcastles, there is a big A carved into the sand while Leo craved Hephaestus into the sand. Annabeth and Leo both had their own unique style to building their sandcastles, Leo built his dad next to his sandcastle and Annabeth made an owl and olive tree next to her sandcastle.
“ Done!” Said Leo and Annabeth at the exact same time.
“ who is going to decide who wins?” asked Annabeth
“ Percy? As it is his birthday.” Said Leo
“ Okay then, Percy.” Said Annabeth, “ Go head, pick a winner.”
Percy couldn’t pick between his girlfriend and best friend, yet if he didn’t pick, Annabeth would be mad. So, instead of picking who wins, Percy decided to call it a tie.
“ Both of you did amazing, I couldn’t choose.” Said Percy
Annabeth smiled and kissed Percy. The crowd cheered and went to look at the sandcastles more closely.
Later, Percy played Volleyball with Nico, Will, Piper, Jason, Thalia, Leo, Clarisse, Hazel. . They even played capture the flag on beach, Annabeth, ( as the leader) Will, Leo, Percy, on the blue team while Clarisse, ( as the leader) Piper, Jason, Hazel and Nico is on the red team. The blue team won. After that, the sevens decided to do something helpful for the world, they picked up the trash on the beach. Percy was disgusted by how much trash there were on the beach.
Everyone was having the greatest time of their life, everyone chatting with one and other.  The night sky was navy blue, it was 9:27 when Percy was talking to Jason.
“ Percy?” Said Sally as she tapped Percy’s shoulder, “ Paul, Estelle, and I are going back home.”
“ Why?” asked Percy as he stepped away from Jason telling him he will back.
“ Estelle fell asleep and Paul has work tomorrow morning.” Said Sally as she turned over to see Paul holding Estelle’s sleeping body.
“ Oh okay.” whispered Percy trying to not wake up Estelle. Paul gave Estelle to Percy, Percy hugged Estelle and kissed her on the forehead. Percy gave Estelle to Sally, and hugged Paul. “ Thank you, Thank you for everything.” Said Percy.
“ Paul, dear, can you please take Estelle to the car.” Said Sally as she handed Estelle to Paul, “ I will be there in a couple of minutes.”
Paul nodded and left, leaving Sally and Percy alone.
“ Mom, I love you,” said Percy, “ I am sorry for all those times where I would leave without telling you, Mom, I -”
   “ Percy,”
“ No, Mom, you sacrificed everything for me and you even married Gabe for a decade just for me. You would do anything to get me safe -”
“ Percy, that just what mothers do, they protect their kids from dangers and did anything for them.” Said Sally as she wiped her tears, “ and I am proud to call you my son, Percy, you are a brave boy.”
   “ Mom -”
“ Percy, listen to me.” Said Sally, “ I would do anything for you, just as long as you are happy.”
“ Percy, you mean the world to me and your sister too.” said Sally as she pulled Percy into a hug.
“ You Guys are my sunshine, pride of joy, and happiness.” Said Sally, “ Perseus Jackson, I love you.”
“ I love you too, mom,” said Percy, and they stood there, hugging each other.
“ Hey Percy! What do you want to do with your present?” asked Nico then realizing Percy was in the middle of something, “ oh wait, was I Interrupting something?”
Percy released Sally, “ Oh, not all Nico.”
“ Sorry, it's just that, the party is ending and Annabeth was wondering what you are going to do about the present.”
“ Take It home, I guess?” Said Percy as he raised his eyebrows
“ Yeah, but Percy, there many presents that you can’t possibly fit in to a taxi.” Said Nico pointing to Percy’s birthday gifts underneath a tree.
   “ Oh, um,  -”
“ Percy, I can take the gifts to your house.” Said Sally as she walked closer to the tree.
“ Mom, you don’t have to!” Said Percy
“ Percy, Like Nico said, you can’t put all those presents in taxi.” Said Sally, “ and beside on the way to the house, we passed by your apartment.
   “ Okay.” Said Percy
Percy and Nico help Sally with the present. It was difficult to get the heavy sculpture wall piece into the car but with some help from Paul, they were able to get into the car. Soon enough, they got all of Percy’s gifts in the car and was ready to leave.
Someone had come out of the beach, yelling Nico’s name. Of course it was Will. Apparently. Will was looking for Nico because He got Nico’s favorite smoothie and couldn’t find him. Nico asked Percy if he was coming.
“ Nico, go ahead.” Said Percy, “ I will be there in a couple of mins.”
Nico nodded, and took Will’s hand and headed toward the beach. Percy turned around to face Sally, who was smiling at him.
“ Mom, I love you” Said Percy as he hugged Sally
“ I love you too,” Said Sally, “ I hope you had a fun birthday, me and annabeth worked very hard on it.”
“ Mom, it was the best birthday ever.” Said Percy
Sally smiled and hugged Percy. Percy said goodbye to Sally and Paul. Percy watched as Paul, Sally, and Estelle drive away.
The city sunset was fading, and it almost time for everyone to leave for start tomorrow. As the last thing, Percy wanted to do was to relive old memories at camp half blood when it was night. The night sky came, everyone sat by the campfire and sang like old times when they were young. It was a magical night.
Before everyone could leave, Percy went up on stage and pick up the microphone.
“ Before everyone leaves, I just wanted to say, thank you so much for everything, every one of you guys have been so important in my life.” said Percy, “ I don’t know what I would do if you guys weren’t in my life.”
“ That all I wanted to say, I love you guys.” said Percy as he placed the microphone back into its place, “ Goodnight!”
The beach was almost completely empty, the sevens plus Grover and Thalia had decided to stay a little bit longer. Together, they sat near the water, watching the waves come and go. Jason and Piper lay next to each other, looking at the stars. While Nico rested his head on Hazel’s shoulder, the same with Annabeth and Percy. Frank was sitting with a smoothie in his hand and Leo building a sandcastle. Thalia was braiding her hair and Grover was chewing on some Diet Coke.  Calypso had left as she was tired and Will had to go to work tomorrow.
“ I can’t believe it has been 10 years.” said Percy as he stroked Annebeth’s hair
“ Yeah, crazy it is?” asked Nico
“ Totally is, it was like yesterday I met you.” said Annabeth as she looked into Percy’s green eyes, “ Seaweed brain.”
“ Then, Percy had to go on this crazy quest to get Zeus’s lightning bolt because Zeus accuses Percy of stealing the lightning bolt.” said Grover
“ Turned out, Luke stole it and He and Ares were plotting to bring back the Kronos.” continued Frank
“ But Percy stopped them, and retrieved the lightning bolt and saved the world from a war.”  finished Jason
“ After that quest, Percy had an other -“
“ Guys,” said Nico, “ Look at the stars.”
Everyone looked at the sky, a constellation had appeared in the sky. Thalia gasped  and placed her hand over her mouth. Annabeth’s eyes started to fill with tears. Up at the sky was a constellation that Percy, Annabeth, Thalia, and Grover instantly realized as they were there when the constellation was made by Artemis.
Up at the sky, where the dark blue and the blue clashed was the constellation, “ the hunteress.” The Hunteress, Zoe Nightshade, a tall, graceful, beautiful, and a loyal huntress of Artemis who sacrifice herself to save Percy. The huntress raise her bow and release her arrow. The arrow flew across the sky, the arrow slowing turned into a shooting star. The shooting star was red, then white, and finally blue and disappeared into outer space.
Percy looked at his friends after seeing such a magnificent sight, Annabeth had tears in her eyes and the same for Thalia, Thalia’s face was soaked with tears. Grover was weeping quietly. While Nico, Leo, Frank, Piper, Jason and Hazel was awed yet had tears in their eyes. They had heard of the quest that Zoe, Thalia, Grover, Bianca, and Percy went on to save Artemis and how Zoë knew that prophecy was talking about her yet she still decided to come. Percy wiped his and Annabeth’s tears away, and looked up in the sky. Percy saw as the constellation slowly disappeared but Percy could have sworn that Zoe smiled at him before disappeared into the dark night sky.
“ Th-at, That was truly,” said Annabeth
“ Beautiful.” finished Thalia, “ It was truly beautiful.”
“ That was a shooting star,” said Grover, “ shooting stars means positive energy and good luck for anyone who sees it.”
Everyone looked at the sky, then at each other. A moment of silence.
“ Hey Guys, do you know Leo is a constellation?” asked Leo
“ Really?” asked everyone expect for Thalia
“ Yeah, The name Leo is associated with fire.” said Leo as he started to some fire.
“ Leo! Don’t burn anything down.” said Nico, “ Or else, Percy had to put you out.”
   “ Again.” said Thalia
“ Thalia? Did you know that Leo was a constellation?” asked Hazel
“ Yep, Leo is one of the zodiac, Leo is between the Cancer and Virgo.” said Thalia, “ Leo’s symbolizes lion and it means lion in Latin.”
Everyone looked at her, confused. They didn’t know that Thalia was into astrology, yeah she is a hunter and all but she never really told anyone she was into the stars.
“ What?” asked Thalia as knowledge everyone’s stares toward her
“ You never told us that you were into astrology.” replied Piper
Thalia only shrugged, then check her phone. The screen showed 10: 24. Thalia furrowed her eyebrows together, and close her phone.
“ Sorry Guys,” said Thalia as she stood up, “ Febe texted me, saying I need to come back!”
Thalia brushed off the sand on her pants, said goodbye before leaving. Right then and there, a ring pop on Grover’s phone.
“ Juniper says that I should probably come back to camp hill blood right now as it takes a long time to drive back.” Said Grover, “ and that she is getting worried.”
“ Grover, you should probably go then!” Said Piper, “ Before you worried juniper too much!”
Grover looked at Percy, who nodded and stood up to hug Grover.
“ Thank you for sticking for so long, I love you.” said Percy
“ I love you Percy , goodnight everyone!” said Grover and left.
The Sevens started to talked about their quest they had been on, the quest to free Hera, the quest to free Thanatos, the quest for Athena Parthenos, the quest to the dark on death, the quest for the Physician’s Cure, and of course all the quest, Percy has been on. They even talked about the prophecy, as they got deeper with the talk. Percy felt himself the time had flown past as it now 11:09.
“ Guys, can we stop talking about this?” said Percy out of the blue , “ It brings back horrible memories.”
Everyone quickly came quiet, all of them felt bad for talking about the quest when it was Percy’s birthday. Leo looked at the sea, Piper checkout her pink and red nails, Hazel and Nico looked up into the sky full of stars, Jason suddenly becoming really interested with the rock in the sand, while Annabeth looked at Percy with a saw soft look on her face. Percy suddenly feeling bad for making them sad.
   “ Sorry. said Percy quietly
“ Percy,” said Annabeth, “ Don’t be sorry, We should be the one saying sorry.”
“ Yeah, Sorry Percy.” said Nico, “ It your birthday too.”
Piper, Jason, Hazel, Leo, and Frank, said sorry, clearly feeling bad for talking about the horrible memories Percy had to go through. Of course, they didn’t mean to talking about it, it just somehow came up their minds. So, instead of the bad memories they talked about the good memories.
They talked for a good twenty minutes, when the group noticed the Piper wasn’t talking like she usually is. They found Piper asleep on Jason’s shoulder.
“ I mean, I know why she is asleep.” said Hazel quietly, “ It literally 11:34.”
“ Jason, you should probably take her home,” said Frank, “ Piper need her beauty sleep.”
Jason quietly laughed, trying to not wake Piper up. “ Goodnight!”
As time passed, the seven started to leave to go home. Leaving Annabeth and Percy, the only on the beach. It is now 11:41, getting closer to not being Percy’s birthday anymore. Annabeth and Percy was talking about how the day went.
“ Perc, we should go home.” said Annabeth as she stood up, “ it also midnight.”
“ Okay, Can I first saying goodbye?” Said Percy as he point to the ocean
“Of course, I'm going to call the taxi.” Said Annabeth
Percy nodded, Annabeth exited the beach leaving Percy only on the beach. Percy walked closer to the ocean, the feeling the sea to call out to him, the feeling of home. Percy touched the salty water, he suddenly felt more awake and stronger.
“ Dad? I don’t know if you are going to hear this but I just wanted to say thank you, Thank you for giving me my life.”
Annabeth came back to the beach, “ Percy! the taxi is here.”
   “ Okay!” yelled back Percy,
“ I love you.”  Whispered Percy to the sea
With that, Percy left the beach with Annabeth. Ready to go back to their cozy apartment, Percy took one more glance at the sea, the ocean shine in the moonlight. The taxi pulled away from the beach, Percy smiled at the ocean full of blue.
The beach was now empty, well not really. From afar distance, a curly black hair man who had a muscular body. The man had blue eyes, elfish features, and sly grin came down from the sky with a package, no, two packages.  Then, there was a cloud of smoke, when the cloud of smoke faded. The man had disappeared.
When Percy and Annabeth, got back to their apartment, Percy opened the door and quickly went to the bathroom. While Annabeth noticed two packages addressed to Percy. Curious, Annabeth picked up the package and placed them on the table and locked the door.
“ Percy?” asked Annabeth, “ Did you ordered something?”
Percy shook his head as he came out of the bathroom, “ No, why you ask?”
“ Well, there are two packages on the table.” Said Annebeth as she picked up one of the boxes.
“ Really? I didn’t order anything, Maybe it was you who ordered it.” asked Percy as he walked over to the table.
“ No, It has your name on it.” said Annabeth as she handed Percy one of the boxes, “ This one has your full name on it, it could only be -”
“ Dad.” said Percy as he grabbed the scissors on the table and rips the box opened.
Inside the box, was a picture frame of Poseidon, Tyson, and Percy posing in the Aquarium.. It was one of the rarest occasions where Poseidon would take Percy and Tyson on trips but that day will always remain in Percy’s heart.  With the picture, was a short letter from Poseidon, saying, Happy Birthday, Percy. I love you.
Percy smiled, and placed the box back on the table. Annabeth had opened the other boxes and was reading a letter. Annabeth smiled to herself as she read the letter.
“ Annie? Who is it from?” asked Percy as he sat down on the floor next to Annabeth
“ It from Camp Halfblood, Apparently, Chiron felt bad for missing the party as he had to stay in duty so he sent you a gift.” Said Annabeth, she handed Percy the box.
“ Oh, he didn’t have to.” said Percy as he examined the box.
The box was an orange box with a brown bow, inside the box was another white box with a blue ribbon. Surrounding the box, was a bunch of notes, curious, Percy picked up one of the notes. Happy Birthday Percy! — Connor Stoll. Something clicked into Percy’s mind.
“ Wait, is all of these letter from -” said Percy
“ Yes, Percy.” said Annabeth, “ Everyone at camp halfblood wrote you a happy birthday card.”
“ That, That so sweet, when we go back, remind me to say thank you” Said Percy, “ Wait, no. I should write them a letter.”
Percy grabbed some paper and placed it on the table. Percy was trying to find a pen and was having no luck.
“ Hey Perc, Maybe you should look at Chiron’s gift.” Said Annabeth
Percy looked confused yet he still opened Chiron’s gift, inside the box was a pen and a letter. Percy took the note and read it.
   Dear Percy,
I have gotten you a pen for your birthday as it marks the 10 year anniversary since the first quest. Today is a very special day in Olympic and here in the mortal world. It was like yesterday, I gave you the riptie not knowing how much greatness you would bring to the world. Like I said in the letter, I am sorry I couldn’t be there for your birthday, everyone at camp is getting ready for another year of school. I hope you a fun birthday.
                           Signed, Chiron
P.S. the pen is actually works, not a sword.
Percy smiled, and took the pen to write camp hill blood, a letter. After, he placed the pen back into its original spot and put the letter into an envelope to be mailed out tomorrow.
Percy came back and tackled annabeth with a hug, “ Thank you for the best birthday ever.”
Annabeth kissed Percy, “ I can’t wait till next year”
Late in the Night, when the city’s asleep, Percy and Annabeth were cuddling by the window with the mermaid blanket that piper got him. Percy, thinking how lucky he was, Percy has  an amazing family who loves him dearly, Percy has friends who stuck with him, Percy has wonderful girlfriend who he loves and makes him happy everyday. Percy is lucky enough to live another day. Percy looked at the night sky, the stars are shining, the moon is brightest it has ever been, the moon reminds Percy of Annabeth’s stormy grey eyes.
“ Perc?” asked Annabeth, “ You alright?”
“ Yeah,” Said Percy as he smiled at Annabeth, “ Just thinking how lucky I am.”
“ I love you.” Said Annabeth, “ Seaweed Brain.”
“ I love you too.” said Percy, “ Wise girl.”
part two of my one shot!! :)

Part 2 of why the pjo movies shouldn’t exist, and now that they do, you should refrain from watching.
Continuation to my post before last. (Yes, I got through the rest of it, I’m surprised too, and not mentally stable)
(After Percy gets healed by the water)
If you saw my other post you know that I turned it off during the capture the flag scene, the whole movie is incredible horrible so I was wondering why that scene was even worse, so I broke it down;
Percy and Annabeth are on opposing teams.
Percy’s a better sword fighter than three people from the other team combined. (Who Luke had said to be sons of Ares)
Annabeth was the only one gaurding her flag.
Needless to say, Percy didn’t get guarding duty, like in the books.
I already mentioned Annabeth’s speach, so unlike her it’s not ok.
She’s been training for five years, but if we take her movie age, at least nine. Yet Percy is almost as good as her.
She should be using a dagger, Luke’s dagger, not a sword.
Everyone has the exact same sword, although Percy has Riptide, other than the pen feature it’s the same as everyone else’s.
Needless to mention swords are the only weapon being used.
Everyone has the exact same shield.
Annabeth and Percy are fighting and people are just watching. That’s not how capture the flag works.
^^^ No one’s trying to steal the flag, neither flag in fact, when it’s clear the blue flag (Percy’s team) is poorly guarded, if at all.
Still no Clarisse, still no electric spear.
Percy beats Annabeth in combat.
Percy just raises the flag and suddenly they won.
There was no claiming. Spoiler alert: In the whole movie.
And now, to my normal form of complaining opinion experessing.
Where are the tables?
Or the magic food??
Or the burnt offerings???
Percy’s supposed to feel alone seating at the Poseidon table.
Nymphs are suddenly horny teenage girls that throw parties I guess.
What even is supposed to be her place? They live in trees.
Grover’s suddenly also a horny teenager. You already threw away his personality a little more won’t matter I suppose.
Percy is not happy about being a hero.
Annabeth is smart enough to know that. She doesn’t think he’s all ‘victorious and got the fame up his head’
WHY WOULD HADES WANT THE LIGHTING BOLT.
Also, why would he appear in flames in the middle of dinner.
Chiron’s protective instinctives don’t exist.
Good to know the Oracle is as exsistent as the Big House.
Percy Jackson would never sneak out of camp.
Grover Underwood would never agree.
Annabeth Chase would never accompany them.
Not their 12 year old selves or however old they are supposed to be.
Luke has technology.
Luke hides bolt in shield because he just happens to know that they’re sneaking out of camp today.
He also happens to have a pair of flying shoes from his dad who he has never met.
And a magic, super convenient map. Also from his dad.
Luke Castellan is smart enough to not mention that he hates his dad in front of them. Specially Annabeth, who he knows how smart she is.
They stumble upon Aunt Em’s in plain daylight, because the map says they have to.
Oh yeah, forgot to tell you, Percy never destroyed national monuments, which never led to him getting magic pearls.
They also never go to the water park.
They never meet Ares, or Aphrodite.
We never learn about Annabeth’s phobia of spiders.
Their actual quest is getting the pearls that will get them out of the underworld, because Luke oh-so-conveniently knew exactly that they would do that.
Not Grover who fought so much to get Annabeth, Luke, and Thalia to camp. Not Annabeth, who survived on the streets when she was seven. Not even a first-quest Percy would suggest to split up. Much less agree.
Percy has a phone.
Medusa doesn’t try to trick them or anything she just straight up goes, I’mma turn ya to stone.
Apparently the temptation to look Medusa in the eyes is too much so this random woman does and turns to stone.
Medusa’s horny af.
I would make a comment on the fact that’s it’s for Annabeth, but like, other than the not-really-actually-exsisting age gap.... they’re Greek.
“Yeah, I’m just gonna seduce this girl into opening her eyes”
Percy decapitates Medusa with pretty much no problem.
Grover can drive.
Grover found a truck, with vines all over it, found the key, and knew how to drive not to mention the car actually worked.
Percy can drive.
Magic seat changing between one scene and the other.
They can afford a hotel.
They can also check in the hotel without being questioned.
They keep Medusa’s head in a sink, in the bathroom. They also got ice for it.
They keep their curtains open.
More Percy just seating underwater doing nothing.
Percy can now heal other with water.
Apparently the gods are forbidden to communicate with their kids.
Producer: Sir, here it says that Annebth likes architecture. We should mention that. Director: Have her go ‘woah’ when she sees a monument. Producer: You’re a genius.
Annabeth sneaks into the boys bathroom in the middle of the day and no one notices.
No one checks, or cleans the bathrooms at the end of the day.
Annabeth has a computer which she uses to video chat Luke.
Luke’s flying shoe gift work perfectly. And even though he said it might take “a little practice” Percy can almost master them.
Hydras can look like/poses people.
Percy. Pays. Attention. To. Chiron’s. Class.
Perseus Jackson knows that you can’t cut a Hydra’s head.
Movie Percy Jackson single handedly cuts all seven Hydra heads before they can regenerate.
Good thing only nine grew back.
Also convenient that Grover carries Medusa’s head around.
Medusa can also turn monsters to stone??? I’m not sure if that one’s canon or not.
Magic map says Lotus hotel because magic pearl ends up here.
The Lotua hotel is NOT suppose to look like... that.
Annabeth wouldn’t take food from such a sketchy place.
Grover would detect that there’s something wrong with the food at least.
That’s is not how the magic of the Lotus casino works.
Friendly reminder that Grover has no personality or emotions other than horny.
And there goes Poseidon speaking in Percy’s mind again.
There’s people chasing after Percy who we never actually learn who they are??
Percy, back to his senses, doesn’t find anything weird about this guy knowing his last name.
Car that was on display is completely functional with no protection for people to steal, and the keys are right there.
Somehow rushing out Percy grabbed the pearl that was oh-so-conveniently next to him when he got back to his senses.
Magic seat changing between one scene and the other part 2.
Part 3.
We never know where they parked the car, as far as we know it’s in the middle of a mountain.
There’s Ancient Greek written in the H of the Hollywood sing and if you read the translation aloud you get a passage to the underworld. How convenient.
Friendly remainder that Grover has no personally part... how many times has he said something again?
The entrance to the underworld is a farse.
The under is a farse.
How is that supposed to be the River Styx? How are you supposed to jump in that?
Producer: Sir, we gotta cgi a three-headed dog. Director: Too much effort, make it three big hellhounds. Producer: Your wit never fails to amaze me sir.
Persephone isn’t suppose to be down here, it’s summer.
Persephone is also horny... for Grover, because he’s a satyr.
Gotta agree with you there Grover, Hades looks like a lesser version of Mick Jagger.
The electric guitar. Seriously? You too?
Hades’ as much of an ass he is in this movie is smart enough to not just... give Percy Sally without the bolt.
Which brings me back... why would Hades ever want the bolt? You know the amount of paperwork a war would cause?
Oh look, there’s Annabeth’s dagger.
I understand that many have different points of view as to how the Hades-Persephone relationship should work but Uncle Rick wrote it so it was a happy relationship so please stop with your “he’s abusive and I look forward to getting out of here” BS you’re not even suppose to be here in the first place, it’s summer.
Grover and Persephone are horny for each other, and since they only have three pearls Grover does the ‘sacrifice’ to stay down here.
Sally, Annabeth, and Percy picture the exact same place with no communication what so ever. Not even glances or nods, nothing.
From here...
Luke has another pair of flying shoes, he goes to the Empire State Building flying.
Luke would never admit in front of Annabeth what he wants, he loves her so much. Even back then, just as a sister.
That’s not even what Luke wants.
Annabeth’s dagger is gone again, replaced by a sword.
Percy happens to have the flying shoes with him.
Percy and Luke have the same amount of sword fighting skill.
Luke takes the bolt from Percy and flies away enough for Percy to have to chase him but not enough to, idk, get out of there.
Percy does not suspect Luke -who wanted him to fail on this quest- would have done anything to the shoes.
The shoes that the first time Percy wore took him time, he can wear perfectly now with no effort what so ever. This kid is a master of the skies.
^ Which he shouldn’t be because Zeus pretty much hates him right now.
Percy uses his powers for the first time in the whole movie (not even unintentionally before) and can control them better than he could in, I dunno, the third or fourth book.
Luke throws his sword to cut to the wings in Percy’s shoes. Not really convenient his like, a foot from the roof of a building.
Luke loses his flying shoes and Percy can take them because they happen to be right next to him.
Percy flies back.
What do you mean there’s no elevator music?
Or grouchy guard?
Mount Olympus looks good, ngl.
...to here has only been nine minutes
The gods at this moment are only supposed to be 12ft tall not... 60
Everyone believes everything, it was Luke’s fault, I did nothing, save my friend the satyr
Poseidon left Percy when he was seven months old apparently. Not before he was born.
Poseidon be like “let me talk to my kid just this once” like you haven’t through out the whole movie.
Sally talks about camp half-blood like Percy’s gonna live there the rest of his life.
Gabe wasn’t petrified.
Percy didn’t send the head to Olympus.
Chiron is encouraging Percy to sneak out again wth.
Annabeth teases Percy. Yeah, I meant sexually.
Anyways, I survived, but I wanted to sum up + add some things, for both posts...
Grover’s a horny teenager with no personality.
Nymphs have ‘places’ where they can throw parties.
The movies target a completely different audience than the books.
There’s a lot of filmimg errors.
The only time Annabeth’s dagger showed up it wasn’t used.
Annabeth fights with her hair down.
Abso-fucking-lutley no one looks like they’re suppose to. NO ONE
Luke doesn’t have his scar.
Annabeth-Chiron relationship is nonexistent.
Annabeth-Luke relationship is nonexistent.
Thalia’s tree never appears.
Nothing about Annabeth’s or Luke’s backstory is ever mentioned.
Nymphs are horny teenagers.
Gabe is a completely different person. (Still an ass but, not properly.)
Persephone is horny.
Medusa’s horny.
Every female in the lotus hotel is horny.
There’s more but honestly I die a little more every time I write something.
Let this be a guide to what not to do in the new adaptation.
And again, let this not be the only visual content we get and let’s pray, please, Disney, adapt Percy Jackson.

Hello! Patrochilles' love child Precy anon here. Again. Sorry to bombard you with these, but your headcanons are so good I can't seem to get enough of them... I'm practicly in love with them. So. My question now is how do you think Percy would find out that Sally is his birth mother and what would be Patrochilles' reaction? Again, no pressure, only write it if you really want to. Thank you for everything you wrote so far. Lots of love!
you have my heart & ask whatever my love and you shall RECEIVE! don’t apologize BC I LOVE MAKING THESE!!! <3 and absolutely i will :’) thank you again & lots of love to you!
- so this has been ruminating in perseus’ mind when he finally got claimed and for some reason his brain instantly went there but was interrupted by chiron telling patrochilles & him to go to his cabin, and then after he ended up getting bombarded with all the training/learning/teaching of camp life + shouldering the prophecy & also just the mundaneness of school that he honestly didn’t think about it for a good while
- however, patroclus himself was thinking about it so much - he had talks with achilles and mentioned that sally not only made a beautiful book of prose about the demigods & gods (her book mainly centering about a young poseidon), he recounted that she gave them a bust of poseidon when she went to their apartment & gave perseus a trident necklace - he asked achilles what he thought of this & achilles took a while to ruminate bc he genuinely wanted to think about it, and he said it could be a possibility that somehow the fates all allowed their lives to intertwine like this
- it’s during a summer’s day in june where patrochilles & perseus are soaking up the sun near the strawberry fields at camp & for some reason perseus has this weird feeling in his stomach and he looks over to patrochilles and see’s pat in achilles’ lap while pat feeds him strawberries and he can’t help but smile & his dads notice and achilles playfully throws a strawberry at perseus that he catches in his mouth and giggles
- & then he hears his name being called in the distance and they all saunter over towards the front of camp and they all see someone they didn’t expect
- it’s miss sally jackson and she has a bashful smile on her beautiful face, and everything perseus thought that first day comes back flooding into his brain and sally comes to him while giving a kind wave to patrochilles and holds percy’s hand and tells him what he’s already suspected and he for some reason is in a weird limbo state of shock & relief & also he sort of felt this coming and he just feels a weight leave his shoulders and sally hugs him so hard and he just softly says “hi mom” and she has to hold in her tears bc she hasn’t heard her baby boy say that in gods knows how long
- and patrochilles are looking on with such... they’re so unbelievably happy for percy that he finally found out that sally is his legit mother, that poseidon is his biological father, and all the pieces have come together, but there’s a small part of their hearts that is a little sad & scared because they absolutely would honor percy wanting to live with his mother, but god they just love that boy so much
- listen their love is just SO palpable and sally notices it now just as much as she noticed it back then :’) she comes to patrochilles and holds both of their hands and gives them kisses on the cheeks and hugs them both, softly thanking them from the bottom of her heart for taking care of her baby boy and that they are the best adoptive parents, nay, the best parents PERIOD that she could have asked to take care of her son :’) pat & achilles blush and are so enamored and thank her kindly
- afterwards percy just bombards her with questions after telling everyone to come with him to his cabin and he asks her why didn’t she say anything? why didn’t she tell him that day she came? why did she put him up for adoption?
- sally answers all his questions with honesty, directness, and sincerity. she frankly didn’t know that he would be there & it was the doing of the fates and her own gut instinct that she should go, and she saw the familial bond between all of them and knew that percy was in good hands, and in terms for his last question. sally could not risk her baby boy to be hurt by any divine being, she needed him to be safe & she could not guarantee his safety if she was kept with him & she promised herself that he was most important in her life and it was so heartbreaking to let him go - yet she had a strong pull in her heart that he would be alright and safe :’) she did name her boy perseus after all
- she takes another look at patrochilles and they can feel her gratitude in waves and achilles & pat say that they are grateful that he was raised by such a caring, kind mother & how rare that was and how thankful they were that perseus came into their life, and how thankful they are that sally is in their life now too :’)
- and sally asks a question that was seemingly already in the air - and she surprises patrochilles by asking it frankly! she asks if she can sometimes come by & visit and pat is stunned bc he thought that she would just want to whisk percy away? and she laughs saying that she is a busy woman and percy is getting older, she wants him to have that autonomy and make his own choices and she knows how long he’s stayed w patrochilles and they are absolutely his parents! and pat is stuttering saying how she is absolutely welcome anytime and that he’d give them a copy of their key and achilles just winks at her saying that their door is always open :’)
- percy is so just filled w a sense of relief and just knowing that he has such a loving family around him? that care so deeply and would do anything and everything to protect him? he hopes that they know that he would do the same for them and that he loves them unconditionally <3
hope you enjoy my friend!
