Rumours abound! Do we need to ready the crabs?
Probably not, but I can tell you what I personally am hoping for, to whit:
Charles survives this. It's quite important to the crumbling of the royal brand that he lives as long as possible so we have a dramatically unpopular king for as long as possible, because this is the age of "I get to vote for who wins the jungle, WHAT DO YOU MEAN I can't vote for a prettier king"
Steven Colbert has just announced that William has been having an enthusiastic affair with some Marchioness of somewhere or other. I want this to be true.
There will be some royal announcement of something today. It will probably be about Charles' cancer prognosis, but I hope - God do I hope - that it will actually be the announcement that Kate is divorcing William for infidelity, because I cannot stress enough that the best case scenario here is that the only popular one left is massively tarnished by grubby scandal. Even if Charles does then die, the replacement is his gross grubby son who has taken after him in the one way that made Charles himself hated by the public. I want to see the headline "Like father like son: Diana would be appalled" across the front page of the Daily Mail, with side by side photographs of a weeping Diana and Kate to highlight the parallels. I want to see the Times call Kate our 'Queen of Hearts' as she nobly and sadly leaves Buckingham Palace with her crying children. I want everyone to remember that Camilla was the evil Other Woman who should never have been queen, as they now gaze upon the Marchioness of Chumbawumba (I literally don't know where she's from) and shriek 'homewrecker'.
Will this happen? Probably not. But I can dream.

the lengths people in the rdr2 fandom will go to to justify someone else being the rat or that "micah didn't work alone" is astonishing
most of it really boils down to misogyny and racism which is sadly so common in the fandom but, god its still so dumbfounding
from the moment we meet micah, you can tell he isn't a good guy, he's antagonistic, he's racist, he's sexist, he's basically an awful fucking person, an obvious bad guy with little to no redeeming qualities about him
no one (except dutch) in the gang likes him, and for good reason, he's gross to the woman, he kills cain, he makes fun of jack and uses slurs against charles and lenny and javier, and the little good moments there are of him with other camp members he ruins pretty soon after because he is not a man that can hide his bigotry for even a minute
he's an awful fucking guy, and he's extremely greedy! he goes on and on and on about the blackwater money, to the point that arthur has an antagonistic line about him that "he (Micah) hasn't mentioned the blackwater money for a minute," (or at least something like that)
its obvious that he doesn't care about anyone in the gang except dutch, he sees all of them as a means to an end, and the same goes for dutch- dutch isn't nothing but a pawn to him, but he's only kind to dutch and on his goodside because if you suck up to the leader, it doesn't matter if the rest of the gang members don't like him, because they can't do nothing if dutch likes him
while i despise him, i will say that he is a very interesting character to talk about, as he is a man who will do anything and everything to benefit him, it doesn't matter who he hurts or kills along the way, he's only in it for himelf
so of course, if something better comes his way, say for instance... a huge pay out for bringing down one of americas most notorious gang, he will bring them down from the inside out.
i mean jesus fucking christ, if you go to his camp from the mission where you steal a carriage from the o'driscolls, you can find dutch van der linde's wanted poster at his camp! while it may not have been his plan at the start, there is evidence that he was at least thinking about turning in the van der linde gang, the pinkertons just dropped the opportunity into his lap
and really, people thinking that molly and abigail are the rat? do you people not think? do you have a brain in your head? I've even seen people think poor lenny was the rat, jesus christ
molly o'shea was not the rat, milton literally told arthur that they "shook her down a few times but never said a peep" and why in the world would he lie about that? if it was to protect molly, that would be stupid, because arthur asks him to clarify that it was "micah? not molly?" and milton literally rats micah out, gloating to him that micah was the real rat
yes molly confessed, but it wasnt an actual confession, it was the words of a desperate, heartbroken woman, who was so heartbroken that she wanted to die. people need to think for a second, and realise that molly o'shea is not fucking stupid. she knows that telling the gang that she runs with that telling them she ratted them out would be suicide.
"oh but what did she want to say to arthur those times, hm??? what do you have to say about that???" shut up shut up shut up, maybe what she wanted to tell him that the pinkertons were capturing and interrogating gang members individually because that's what they did to her!!! again, confessing to arthur would be straight-up suicide. he's the most loyal man in the gang, the third member of the gang, the old guard, he's one of the worst people in the gang to confess to being the rat too, and I don't care if people disagree with me, molly o'shea is a smart woman, it doesn't make sense for her to tell him that she was the rat, but it makes sense to tell him about what the pinkertons are doing!!
(she could have also been wanting to tell him that dutch has changed, or something like that as we don't truly know, given that she was interrupted, but again telling him that she was the rat doesn't make sense.)
and the people who think abigail is the rat are just, downright stupid.
people like to accuse abigail of being the rat for a lot of reasons, like, for instance, "abigail got away but hosea didn't." and man I laugh at these people.
hosea is an incredibly important member of the gang, he's the second in command, it may be called "van der linde gang" but it began when dutch and hosea joined. he, dutch and arthur are what makes up the old guard, so of course the pinkertons would be going for him and not the young woman who hasn't been in the gang long enough to truly make a name for herself, like dutch van der linde, hosea matthews and arthur morgan have.
its also the fact that because she hasn't made a name for herself, it could be the fact that the pinkertons dont even know who she is! sure, she may have been seen on jobs, but do you really think abigail would been seen on a lot of jobs when she has a kid she cares about with the gang? do you really think she would risk jack being an orphan, since his daddy dont want anything to do with him? do you really think shes that stupid???
shes also dressed in a way to disguise herself with the rest of the civilians in the saint denis!!! so even if she was at some point seen by the pinkertons, shes now wearing something that disguises who she is.
"oh but how did they capture hosea?" hosea is an old man with a chronic health condition, throughout the chapters of the game he goes on about how these are his last days, and he probably wont even survive the year, while abigail is a young, healthy woman who is reasonably fit, she could easily out run hosea and the pinkertons and easily disguise herself
and more importantly, do you really think hosea matthews wouldn't sacrifice himself for abigail? throughout the story, he speaks to john and abigail about leaving the gang, about taking jack and going to a safe space, and live their life without the threat of being downed by a gunshot wound? or having to move everytime they are discovered? its no place to raise a child, and hosea knows that
hosea is also right in saying that this gang is damned. that they cannot survive the year, and he's right, they don't. so why wouldn't hosea sacrifice himself for her? why wouldn't that make sense to you?
(i mean, i think i know why, because it is such a tragic thought to have, but the story of rdr2 is a tragedy.)
and to the people who think that lenny is the rat, but don't give any evidence or thought to it? think logically, man.
do you honestly think a black man in the 19th century would willingly talk to lawman? do you really think that?
all of this to say, its just so stupid the lengths people go to to try to make micah not the rat, or not the only rat, its just abysmal really

German terms of endearments for your fic
.Now, it's been two years since I've fallen into the X-Men/Cherik-fandom and one thing that I have seen continuously is people trying to find terms of endearment in German for Erik to use for Charles (or his mother for him). (I've lost count of how many times I've seen the word "Liebling" spelled wrong)
And honestly, no offense. I know it's hard writing a character who speaks a language you don't. And obviously, you're gonna make mistakes. So I thought I'd share my knowledge as a mother tongue in German and let you know some of the most common ways we described our loved ones. ;)
DISCLAIMER: I am but one single person, grown up south-east from Berlin, I DO NOT speak for the whole of Germany, nor do I ever intent to, especially since we are anything but a cultural monolith. Just keep that in mind while reading. ;)
Exclusively romantic terms:
- Liebste (fem.)/ Liebster (masc.) : literally means "most loved". Closest English equivalent is probably "love" or "beloved". Bit old-fashioned. Makes you sound like a 20th-century-gentleman. ;) Make sure to write it "I-E" NOT the other way around! It would make the opposite sound.
- Geliebte (fem.) / Geliebter (masc.): literally "beloved". Makes you sound even older, like Jane-Eyre-19th-century-old. Again, I before E.
- Süße (fem.) / Süßer (masc.): literally "sweetie" (I KNOW this is probably now confusing, but trust me.) This is where we get into the... sappy side of German. Like, there are some mid-forty/fifty-couples who use that, but the rest makes it probably just cringe. (I know I am right now really helpful by starting with those that are not really modern, but I've seen this used because people translating English terms so I just wanted to say it here.)
Terms for both romantic and parental love:
- Liebling: literally "darling". Classic, neutral, always the safe option for every situation. (I before E ;) )
- Schatz: literally "treasure". Again, safe option, though this leans rather to the romantic side, but can be used for children either way.
And then of course, some animal pet names may be used for either children or romantic partners, but honestly, I don't know any couples who do that. So, those will go into the parental category, I'm afraid.
Terms for children:
-Spatz: "sparrow". That's what we basically use as "sweetie". You can also use the diminutive "Spätzchen" for either toddlers or said by grandmothers.
-Maus: "mouse". same thing. Diminutive is "Mäuschen". Tendency in usage for girls, but can work for either gender. (This is what my Mom still calls me sometimes even though I'm already 22! XD)
-Motte: "moth". This is now really rather for girls, and rather those whose names start with M.
-Krümel: "crumb". Not used by many, rather comes from the North, also rather used for unborn children in the womb.
-Fussel: "fluff". Also not that common but can be cute in my PoV. :)
-Hase: "rabbit". Diminutive is "Häschen". This one's rather for boys in my experience.
And then again, at the end of the day, expressions of affection are personal and as we get more personal in German, we tend to use our respective dialects. Yes, there are actually quite a many dialects for our relative "small" country. Around 30, to be concrete. Though they are all decreasing in being used, sadly, as we get more and more globalized and mobilized. However, here are some examples that I know, my knowledge being utterly limited as I am only one single person from the region south of Berlin:
-Kleene (fem.) / Kleener (masc.): "little one". If you ever have a character originating from Berlin or south of Berlin, this can be used for children.
-Meechen: "girl" in the dialect of the region called "Lausitz" around the border of Brandenburg and Saxonia. Also for kids.
-Schätzelein: diminutive of "treasure" in Colognian dialect. Romantic in nature, though it can also be used in a way like hairdressers in American movies sometimes call their customers "sweetie". (please, if there's a person from Cologne here, correct me on that!)
-Liebchen: "darling" or "beloved" in Saxonian dialect, I believe. Rather used by old couples.
-Min Dern (fem.)/ Min Jung (masc): "my girl/boy". Northern dialect. In the region around Hamburg, if I remember correctly. Used for kids.
That's it for the moment. I will probably add to this list whenever I learn some new, but I hope this is already helpful for some people.

Charles Leclerc just in general is my Roman Empire with all the lore behind him and again can talk about him for hours.
I don't think that there is a window for when we as fans believe that he can't win a WDC anymore. Because if there is one thing about Charles Leclerc then it is that he'll fight for it regardless of the car that he has.
Il Predestinato was a name given to him by Vanzini when he was like 15 by Carlo Vanzini. Vanzini was interviewing Charles and during the end (I think as vanzini was leaving) Charles said "It will never be possible that we end up fighting for the title and it’s my teammate fighting for it instead of me." The nickname was only popularized when he won Monza 2019 but Vanzini had used it for Spa 2019 and also when Charles was in Alfa Romeo Sauber.
Charles has shown that if he has the car he will challenge and fight for wins, but also this season I don't think is as big of a hit to his abilities as people make it out to be.
Yes he is behind Carlos in the standings and Carlos has gotten a win (on a track that Red Bull, but let's be completely honest, wasn't good for Max. And Singapore is a slower track in comparison to others.) But Charles is 17 points behind Carlos. He's 17 points behind in a car that wasn't built for him, with multiple DNFs (many of which were not his own fault), and Ferrari screwing up his strategy. Charles being so close is due to his ability as a driver. If Charles was having a bad season the points difference would be similar to the one between alonso and stroll.
Just looking at Austin, Charles started on pole but finished p6 and Carlos finished p4 (before the disqualifications due to Ferrari/Mercedes not having thin planks). However, the only reason Carlos had the better strategy was because he had worn out his tyres and it forced Ferrari to pit him early.
Charles is overdriving the car, but most of the time he's also extracting more than is possible from the car which is why he has multiple poles this season.
If he doesn't win a WDC (but I do think he will win eventually), he'll still go down as one of the great drivers in F1 like Stirling Moss and Gilles Villeneuve. There's something special about Charles Leclerc that other drivers don't have.
Charles Leclerc is the kid who was in an endurance karting race on a team with his brother (I think), Jules, and some other guy and when they didn't come back after the first hour, raced for like 3 hours so they wouldn't lose first place. He was born in Monaco but raised in Maranello. He is a tifoso at heart and bleeds rosso corsa. He loves the tifosi and they love him so much that there were talks of storming Maranello to get rid of Binotto.
Ahhh this was much longer than I thought it would be but I can write essays on this man.
Yeah honestly can we talk about how Ferrari literally STOLE Charles’s Il Predestinato brand? This is not talked about enough but I was talking about it the other day, I don’t remember with whom. I feel like Ferrari has kind of appropriated the Il Predestinato lore and entwined it so much with their brand and his love for the team that most people don’t even know he was destined to be a champion before he was destined to be a Ferrari driver.
I guess you have answered the question of when will people stop believing - Never.
I also wholeheartedly believe if he had the car and the team he would fight and he could win. But I don’t think Ferrari will be that team for him. So for me it all comes down to whether he will ever leave.
For me what’s special about Charles is his lore. There’s a gold dust about him that evokes the ghost of heroes past. It’s just a magic. And I think he will be remembered regardless of whether he wins a title. But I think he wants a title. Sadly I think he wants it with Ferrari enough to be wasting time.

***Hellfire Gala Spoilers***
Fucking hate how the writers onky bothered making diverse team of X-men only to instantly killed most of the POCs. And the only ones they seem to have plans for are White Characters like Jean, Juggernaut, Firestar, Iceman and Rogue.
The only surviving POC to be the main star of a book is Kamala and we had to steal her from the Inhumans.
Every other surviving POC is just supporting cast. It's fucking exhausting after 3 years of white people winning the Election and only getting 2 POCs on the main X-Men team each year (and a single POC on the Quiet Council)
I know that all of them will be resurrected, but that doesn't change the very real fact that they decided that the next 5 or 6 months should be focused almost entirely on white people
I fully admit I was excited for a hot moment there when they announced the new team of X-Men. I voted for Prodigy in the X-Men vote, and I was ecstatic that he ended up on the team.
And then, of course, this moment is immediately ruined by having Nimrod dropping in (literally) and killing most of the new team.
All but one of the characters of color are immediately killed off and leaving us with only Synch, Talon, and Juggernaut. And by the end of the issue, we're unclear on whether or not Cain is still alive.
Like, obviously take my opinion with a grain of salt here, but finally giving us a team of lesser used X-Men, half of whom are people of color, and then immediately - IMMEDIATELY! - killing them all off isn't the best message to send.
While the X-Men were not explicitly created to represent the Civil Rights Movement or any other minority group, they have come to symbolize the struggle of the marginalized and disenfranchised over the years. This is something that sadly a lot of writers don't take into consideration when they pull stunts like this. Someone else said today that this issue is entirely dependent on whether or not the Fall of X sticks the landing, which is a year off from now (at least) and in the mean time, we're just stuck with this sour taste in our mouth.
I said earlier that one would think that X-Men fans would be used to this by now. Because something like this happens in every era of the X-Men, but each time, it's like a punch to the gut. Why do we never see this same treatment directed at other groups within the pages of Marvel? Why is it always the group that is recognized as the biggest draw for marginalized communities?
I'll end this by saying that I wouldn't look forward to seeing any of them resurrected any time soon. We don't know what happened to all of mutantdom when Charles was forced to send them through the gates, but the Five were among them and I imagine that it'll be a while before we get back to anything resembling normalcy. But even if they were resurrected, even if the very next issue had them all back, it still wouldn't take away from the trauma of seeing characters of color being brutalized on page for the shock value.

Lycoris That Blazes The Earth: Review
I don't know if this is an unpopular opinion, but I watched Kuroshitsuji's third musical, Lycoris That Blazes The Earth yesterday and it was... underwhelming.
Don't get me wrong, the performances of the actors and the choreography of the musical sequences is phenomenal!
I'm moreso disappointed with the script/adaptation side of things.
Full disclosure, I do not watch a lot of anime musicals. I understand that things I found strange about this musical's script/writing decisions could very much be a quirk of this genre of musical.
That being said, boy does this musical miss a perfectly good opportunity it had to retell the Jack The Ripper arc in a more competant way. And it's a shame.
Red Butler Manga Arc - Iconic but flawed
I love the Red Butler manga arc don't get me wrong. But it is flawed, very... very flawed. It doesn't function as a mystery, which is fine- Kuroshitsuji was never about being a classical mystery story one is able to solve with the characters, it's more about the emotional impact the events have on the characters themselves. That being said, a lot of what happens in the Red Butler arc is left up to the audience. I'm not saying a story needs to spell everything out, but so much is just left really vague because Yana didn't plan it out. Again, I'm not asking to be hand-held and told everything! I am asking for some good characterization and dialogue that gives us a chance to properly analyze the characters so we can figure out the missing pieces ourselves. But sadly, even in the final confrontation scene, so much dialogue is wasted on unfunny jokes that break the tone of the scene.
Lycoris is a missed a great opportunity
A musical adaptation is perfect for this arc that's all about theatrics and performance. Which is why I'm so disappointed that this musical did nothing interesting with this arc.
Too many characters:
First of, there's just too many characters that are completely insignificant to the plot. The servants get this whole introductory scene at the start of the musical only to... never show up again. Well, they technically do show up again in a brief scene in Sebastian's cinematic record, but... that could have easily been written out.
Same with Lau, same with the Double Charles. These characters did not need this much focus (especially Double Charles, WHY did they get a whole song). They should have been relegated to brief character scenes like the Undertaker and Druitt were, but they take up so much time that could have been spent better elsewhere.
Same with Abberline and Hanks. I know they are reoccuring side characters in these musicals, but it pains me to know how much time was taken up by characters who do not play a significant role in this arc, that could have been given to characters who do.
It's unfocused:
The musical lacks structure and feels like a connection of scenes that have nothing to do with each other. Again, the manga version of this arc suffers from this to a degree as well, but I feel a much clearer focus in the manga rather then the 2 hour long musical. Which makes no sense, because the anime covers this arc in a way shorter time frame without removing too much from the manga.
A great example of how messy and unfocused it is, is the songs themselves. Imo, in musicals, songs should be used to tell us more about the characters/story/emotions, rather then feel like the story itself stops for a second for a character to sing and have an epic performance or exposition dump.
And most of the songs in this musical sadly felt like the latter. I don't think I've learned much about the characters through their songs. It felt like the plot literally paused for the characters to sing, rather then the music being intertwined with the story. I will say, Madam Red's two emotional songs are an exception to this.
It misses an opportunity to add further depth to the story:
I think it's obvious to anyone that the central focus on the Jack The Ripper arc are three characters: Ciel, Madam Red and Grelle.
So why doesn't this musical focus more on expanding the canon source material and adding further depth that the original arc was desperately missing?
Grelle is especially underutilized in this. Which is a shame, because the brief moments of charcterization we do see of her are great!
I think Uerhara's performance in this, especially when Grelle's real self is revealed, is rly good. I love how his performance actually makes Grelle feel like a threat. In the scene where Madam Red is killed by Grelle and we see her yell at how disappointed she is in Madam for succumbing to emotions? That was a phenomenal performance. The rage in Uerhara's voice, communicated so much more then the manga or the anime did really.
But can I really attribute that to the script? Or just Uerhara's amazing performance? Because I don't think the script did much at all to make these moments feel impactful. If we didn't see this in the manga/anime already and hold this moment dearly, I doubt it would have the same impact.
Another great Uerhara acting moment I want to highlight is this:
As Madam is singing about how much she loves and wants to protect Ciel, you can basically see Grelle's expression change. She goes from a look of befuddlement and confusion, to a more sinister expression. She realizes in this moment that Madam and her are not on the same page. They are different people, with different values. And that is why she kills her.
Final notes:
I wish this musical gave us more. Expanded the characters and what we know about them. Gave us more interesting characterization moments. "But they can't add stuff that's not in the manga" clearly they can since the Most Beautiful Death In The World very much exists and is purely non-canonically. So it's a huge shame they didn't try doing anything creative, and even as an adaptation it doesn't really hit.
Anyhow amazing performances though!!!

I've gotten KJ Charles recommended to me several times, but never got around to it. What's that about kink shaming?

Just the usual huffy comments about consent and how we should have moved past bodice ripper ravishment by now. Nothing really dire, but I have a zero tolerance policy for romance novelists who pretend they don't understand rape kinks and act like they're the product of clueless people who need to be enlightened.
I find KJ irritating in general despite loving some of her books. She's so terrified of being problematic that her ~diverse~ romances always read like the leads are barely even attracted to each other. The contrast to her two cis white people books is stark, and I'm far from the only one who's noticed. Her autistic character was a complete tool as well as too stupid to live, and the narrative 1000% excused this and never had him apologize to his boyfriend for being the absolute worst. Ugh. And her take on sensation novels was a travesty and an affront to the genre (which is saying a lot considering these things are garbage thrillers). How dare she make the awesome genderfluid trapeze artist shake and cry in a corner uselessly in a genre that's about daring and disguises and fun? And how dare she make the entire plot and happiness of all other important characters hinge on his ability to wear male clothing for six months? (Also how dare she write a historical novel with educated characters in this context and have literally zero characters even think to bring up any Classical ideas of gender. What's this "Woe, for I am alone and know no vocabulary to describe myself!" shit?) The "look how progressive I am" smug vibes just roll off of some of these books despite them being offensive drivel. She's actually capable of writing hot f/f, unlike many m/m writers who turn the heat way own when they attempt f/f, so that's something at least.
Sadly, she's one of the best prose writers out of the established big names, so people will keep giving her chances even if some of her more recent books feel really slapdash compared to the early ones people adore.

In the end, no tribute helmet but between the things both said about each other, AD 22 delivered.
I am so emotional about this fuck. It's don't waste it all over again...
I know 😭😭 And that little farewell get-together as well... they look so happy around each other. 🥺
It's so gratifying to know that yes, we were right in saying Seb wants to see Charles thrive and win with Ferrari, be the one to finally break the vicious cycle, be the one to achieve what he couldn't. Charles is, in every way, Seb's successor at Ferrari. The beating heart of the team. The one with the passion, the dream, the belief. It's literally rotten work, and it hasn't been easy for either of them, but they push through because to them it's more than just another team, more just another career stepping stone, it's the manifestation of all their childhood dreams.
And, of course, having stood exactly where Charles is right now, having lived through it himself, Seb knows exactly how he feels. Their lives, their experiences, are so intrinsically linked.
I hope Seb's exaggerating when he says he won't watch F1 anymore... I'll be honest, more than anything I wanted Charles to clinch the title this year specifically so that he could share it with Seb. They deserved to share in that success together, to enjoy it together. Sadly it didn't pan out like that, but some part of me is still hopeful that if all goes well and by this time next year it's Charles facing a very real possibility of becoming champion, that Seb will show up in person, even as a guest, and be there for him. Be there with him.

I have to say that as I saw the events unfold over the seas (the coronation that cost an UNGODLY amount of money and the protesters that got arrested) I thought to myself “How is Ivy coping with this?”

Genuinely tho the mass arrest of so many protesters is so concerning, although sadly not surprising at all ever since our government introduced their harsher restrictions on protesters, which means they can basically just arrest anyone for protesting anything they don't like (stuff like "we want you to not let the planet burn", etc)
My thing with the royal family is that I think they're interesting to have around for the vibes and the drama (except when they start complaining about how hard it is to be royal because um excuse me, no 💖), but ultimately that is just SO MUCH MONEY, and they spend so much money in general it's obscene, and yes it's our right wing government that got us into this cost of living crisis in the first place but do the royals really need their designer clothes and the king's newly made gold coat thing that looked like a duvet when people literally can't heat their homes?? It's fucking cold in England Charles???
In summary although the coronation gave me an excuse to eat chocolate, it would have been nice to actually be able to have the heating on as it poured with rain outside for this historical event that cost us all a shit tonne of money :)
Can you tell I hate the government and that I am very concerned about the direction our democracy is going in when you can't even protest against the king - our unelected prime minister rocking up at that event all smiley as if he isn't actively trying to destroy our public services, villainise asylum seekers and demonise our unions made me want to punch him in his smug little money grabbing face
THE PLUS SIDE THO is that in our local elections a couple of days ago, the Conversative party lost over a thousand seats on local councils, they got absolutely thrashed it was fantastic, which bodes very well cause everyone has clearly had enough of them 😌

Dressed Up (Toppat Charles Au)
I've decided to do a simple one shot of my Toppat Charles Au, exploring the relationship between Charles and Reginald.
Only a few weeks into the leadership of the clan's newest leader, so with all due respect, Reginald didn't know how to react. Well, he's been feeling certain emotions weighing him down but couldn't justify saying anything out loud without it coming off too unseemly and an even smaller part hadn't wanted to insult the lad either.
"You're not wearing that" He groans, tired, way too early in the morning to be dealing with this issue head on.
"Why not?"
"You know why" As he rubs at his temples, headache already pounding, Reginald, no longer found the strength to look on. "We both know this is far too revealing for you"
The outfit chosen by his leader left very little to the imagination and for Reginald, he had to transport his mind to happier times, little, as they were now. It was a glorified romper, yet off the shoulder, baring the legs up to the hips as well covered in sheer leggings, and on the chest, a deliberately noticeable cut shaped as a heart. Deep red in color, like it's been bathed in blood, with an attached gold and silver bodice that clung onto the body to emphasize the figure. Again it showed way too much skin for his personal comfort. What would people say if they saw this, the eyes that would graze across and he can't bear the idea, protectiveness washed over him.
"Hardly"
"For a seventeen year old, yes, it is. Now I won't be saying this again. We have a full schedule today and we're already running late"
Hearing a light scoff from behind with a trail of whispers, Reginald knew he's coming from a good place. Though in that foolish child's mind he's being the bad guy. "Now come on, I'll help you pick a better, respectful outfit" He opens the walk-in closet with slow grace, to see plenty of choices.
"All the clothes you pick out are stuffy. And suits? Really? Who now wears suits when there's better options out there"
As Reginald entered, gloved hands gently went to touch every smooth, freshly pressed fabric, and a plop from outside. Likely then not a body hitting the bed's mattress.
"Nothing wrong with the classics" He calmly states. Soon he picks one, grabbing it by the hanger and exits with it in both hands.
"Ugh…" Came the soft voice, bland, stating the obvious animosity. "... Come on… Do I have to do this today, Reginald?"
"You must. What else would you be doing?"
What he first sees is the younger man, laying on his back, arms crossed over his chest and pouting, "Having a life. That's what"
Another sigh, a deep throated groan this time, "Don't do this with me" Reginald spats back, primarily to himself. "Being a leader is more important to you. Your main priority even and the clan needs a leader. Desperately"
Forest green eyes then decide to glare up at him where he stood at the bedside.
"You can't be this selfish, Charles. I get it. It's stressful and with your father gone, I can unders-"
"Just stop… He's going to come back. I know he will. Why won't you all believe me when I say it?"
"He hadn't. It's been weeks over three months. He isn't" A good firm hand is needed so he lends one out, clamping at the leader's tense shoulder, where he tugs the other up and off.
It was only a wistful dream, for their prior leader, Terrence to return, many like his two children had hoped and prayed for that day but it never materialized sadly.
"So get over yourself, please" As harsh as he sounds, it's necessary for everyone, for their clan to survive through a terrible heartache. Charles needed to be strong, figuratively and literally speaking, as their leader, so he must push aside the pesky emotions, along with the wayward antics. "For all of us"
The suit, off the hanger, is handed over to Charles. A magnificent suit, again, red, more ruby with a darker shade in thin, vertical lines, with a black button up shirt with gold buttons and a matching tie.
"If you must know, red is indeed your color" He tries to lighten the mood, however, it falls flat. "Get dressed. I'll be outside the door waiting for you. We got a full day for us ahead"

I didn't want to jump on slowie's post in case they don't want to see eldarya rant, but...
What was the real purpose of ANE? Yea, cash grab for Beemoov, but speaking from the story teller's side?
In TO Erika learnt something about new world, her ties with family were cut, she had to build her new life, found love, friends, and decided it's worth enough to make huge sacrifice. Most characters had their bigger/smaller arcs:
Ezarel got nice story (sucks that writers decided to throw it to litter), finally decided to face his fears. Valkyon... deserved better. Leiftan sadly got v botched and v forced on all players arc, but ok, cannot say they he learnt anything becasuse TO's ending was v rushed. Nevra was left with nothing. Miiko, Keroshane, Alajea, other characters- they were part of the story about i dunno, adapting? Making bonds? Something along the lines? It worked well enough to keep me glued to this game.
However, I cannot guess what is the main theme for Erika in ANE. Our MC. She didn't change during 16 episodes, and whatever they will have for her in those last 4- it won't have enough time to make same impact like it had in TO. What is the lesson the got? Not to trust easily (Charles)? They screwed it with HH and Erika blindly following her without asking questions. Erika didn't grow during whole season, she is literally the same girl she was at the end of TO. Her romance (hey, remember? it's otome game after all) is garbage. Correct me if I am wrong, but on Lance's route they didn't talk about Valkyon- even if he was her first love. She didn't talk with Leiftan about his crimes. When Nevra finally opened and tried to talk abt his insecurities writers decided to swith I AM HORNY NOW mode on.
I have read some really bad ff, like- REALLY bad, but they still have some story behind all those gramma, spelling and logical mistakes :)
Here? I am still looking for plot. Lots of things happen, and at the same time we (and characters) are at the same place as 4 eps ago.

2/3: Leaving Asakusa + a night clubbing in Shibuya (?!)
We had to check out of our Airbnb in Asakusa at 10 am, but we couldn't check in to our next Airbnb, which is in Tsukiji, til 4pm, so Charles and I had a few hours to kill.
We spent most of it wandering around the streets in Asakusa we had been staying in, to make sure we didn't miss anything cool! It really was a lot of walking around and trying different foods, and the proprietor of a chicken stand we REALLY liked tipped us off that there is actually a small amusement park right in the middle of the neighborhood, and suggested we walk around its perimeter to get a look.
This was the chicken place, it's literally just called Asakusa Chicken haha.
This was our breakfast; it was at a chain called Sukiya, which specializes in gyudon (beef bowls) but we ordered their breakfast meal, which was a piece of fish with some sides! There's a big bowl of rice with natto (fermented beans), lil bits of onion, and a raw egg on top; a miso soup, and a like....macaroni salad? It was like macaroni salad with carrots and mayonnaise? Natto is a very aquired taste, but Charles loves it. There's kind of a trick to getting it to taste right and not be kinda stinky and weird. I had an iced coffee, with coffee jelly at the bottom -- you can see it in the dark stuff mixed in with the ice at the bottom of my cup!
The amusement park is called Hanayashiki Park! We couldn't get too many photos sadly, but it was cool to see!
Charles and I spent some time on Hoppy Street, which I think Charles will probably make into a separate post!
While wandering, we found a small shrine to Tanukis on the grounds of Senso-ji temple also. Tanukis are Japanese raccoon dogs!
Charles and I also killed some time by doing a sake tasting at a place called Marugoto Nippon, which was a souvenir shop kinda set up more like a mini marketplace, with goods from all over Japan as well as local to Asakusa for sale. There was tons and tons of tasty food, especially spices and sauces that looked awesome.
Finally we packed it in, and headed to our next stop in Tsukiji. We wanted to stay there because there is a massive fish market there -- more on that in a future post. But its main business hours are in the morning thru the early afternoon and there was no way we were gonna make it in time for that, at that point.
Here's some views on the way to Tsukiji!
We took a rest for a while, and then I pulled the trigger and decided to do something I'd been flip flopping on for a while -- a record label I follow called Neoncity Records, had announced a little while back that they were going to be having a show featuring several of their artists in Shibuya, during our stay. These are artists constantly on repeat for me, that I listen to allll the time. Initially, I kind of had talked myself out of going, because I felt like I didn't NEED to go, and I wasn't sure if it was fair to drag Charles out to something I wasn't sure he'd be into, since it's really not his kind of music. But he assured me probably a hundred times that he didn't mind, so I bought the tickets and shortly thereafter we took the train into Shibuya.
Shibuya is another area with lots of nightlife and tons of shopping -- I think most people know it for Shibuya Crossing, a massively crowded and busy intersection in the heart of the city. We actually crossed it on our way to the venue! But before the show, we took an hour or so to go to Shibuya Parco, which was basically a huge mall. On the 6th floor there was a Nintendo shop (I really had to restrain myself from buying all the Animal Crossing things I could get my hands on, but it was mostly home goods and we don't strictly have enough space to justify all that stuff), another Pokemon Center and some other stores as well.
Next up, time for the show! The venue was at a spot called Tokyo Circus, a nightclub! It was a tiny little venue, with a bar on the ground floor, and a second bar, the bathrooms and the stage are below ground.
This is the flyer, so you can check out the lineup. I wasn't as familiar with Daviouxx, Lagchun or Milk Talk, but I'm a big big fan of Neon Vectors, Vantage and Macross 82-99! Without getting into it too much, and I'm sure there are folks out there who would debate the nitty gritty of it, but all of the music here falls somewhere under the umbrella of City Pop or Future Funk, Future Funk being a subgenre spinning out of Vaporwave! I don't know if that's at all interesting to any of y'all but if you're curious, ask me about it sometime!
Everyone was AWESOME, Daviouxx started the show off while the crowd filled in, and it ended up being a PACKED HOUSE. Lagchun started off, and performed some Cantonese city-pop songs which I'd never heard before but I totally want to look for now, and I'll definitely be checking out his music going forward. Milk Talk is a duo that mixes funky guitar sounds with soft vocals that I think Charles liked the best, and then Neon Vectors, Vantage and Macross had wild DJ sets. I kind of didn't know what to expect from the three of them, even though I've listened to so much of their stuff for years, so I was a little surprised that the evening took on the vibe of a rave, but honestly it was really cool to be around a group of people as super hyped about this very niche genre of music that I love! Also I was really lucky that I got to get suuuuuper close to the stage, so I had an awesome view the whole time! I'll probably repost some of the music from these folks here, and maybe post some of the videos I took later! At the end of the day, I'm really glad that I ended up going! These events don't seem to happen very often, and certainly not anywhere near where we are on the east coast, so I know if I had ended up not going, I would have been super sad.

I and Ben met when we bumped into each other at the Met Gala after-party. one year, today completed a solid one year in a relationship with Ben. So today is our anniversary plus my birthday!
Ben has been planning to do a party to celebrate our anniversary and my birthday for a while.
He invited some of his friends and family, and some goes to me. I just invited my parents and friend, my siblings and other of my family members who are living outside the country sadly, can't join our party.
All of the people that Ben invited already arrived including his family. My mom texted me earlier and said that they will arrive shortly. Actually, this is the first time Ben meeting my parents and I know it's gonna be a hectic day for both of us.

Ben and I currently waiting for my mom and my dad in front of our door house right now, we literally standing beside each other, not giving space between us, we left people that come, inside enjoying they party time.
"are you okay?" Ben ask.
"im okay are you okay?" I ask him back
"not that okay, quite nervous actually," he answers
"Why? is it because this is your first time meeting my parents?" I ask him again more concerned this time
"Yeah, Im just afraid that they not gonna like me, what if they said "sorry, your not the one for my daughter" what if they say that? y/n I don't want to lose you, I don't want your paren-" his rumbling got cut off by me.
"Hey, hey, baby look at me, you're not gonna leave me okay? I knew my parent for the whole of my life, and they support every decision that I make, please, think positive, they will like you okay?"
"but-"
"no but Ben, stop it okay, they will like you" I reassure him
he nods, but I know the "overthinking" still living inside his head. So I hold his hand and he holds my hand back.
"Okay sorry, im just nervous" he confesses
"no it's okay don't be sorry, you have nothing to be sorry for, I know baby, but that's what I felt when I met your parent for the first time, so if I can do that, I know you can do it too"
"Are you really that nervous Mr Barnes?" I ask him playfully
We both laugh together at the same time and our laughs interrupt by the sound of my parent's car honking in front of our gate. I run to open the gate.
after I open the gate, my dad drive inside our parking spot in front of our house. I run back to Ben and see him looking at me.
"I know you can do this," I hold his hand once again
as my parents got out of their car, we go approached them, I hug my mom while I can see my dad smile and peck Ben's back.
My mom kissed my forehead and cheek, I go hug my dad, I heard him whisper, "happy birthday sweetheart" I laugh and thank him softly. I pull away from the hug.
"mom dad, this is my boyfriend" I introduce Ben to my parent, and I look at Ben and see him smile politely
"Really?" my mom excited
I laugh and nod happily
"im so happy for you baby," my mom said. My dad hugs Ben and whispers something in his ear "come here darling" she invites Ben into our hug. I feel Ben's hand around my torso, and we hug for a while.

as we invited y/n parents to come inside our house, y/n and her mom go separately and probably want to introduce to each other mom. So it's just left me and y/n dad.
"waw there are a lot of people here" I heard him, "HaHa yes, a lot of my friends and co-workers actually" I reply

"everything good, just a new project is coming soon, a little bit tired but still okay"
"Don't be too hard on yourself Ben, rest a bit, spend time with y/n, you know y/n can be annoying when she needs our attention" I laugh at what he just said.
"I will don't worry" we both stay silent for a while
and I start to talk again "hey, did you have any story about y/n childhood? y/n make a lot of fun about mine, so I need some revenge" I ask him jokingly.
"oh son, there's a lot of it, and I remember everything about her, from her just a kid to an adult, all of her happy, sad even story that I confirm she will embarrass when I told you" he stated
" im more interest in the embarrassing one actually" we both laugh. He starts to tell me some of his fav memories of y/n.

after I introduced mom to Ben's mother, we are both currently in the kitchen while I watch Ben and my dad that sitting on our couch talking and laughing about something, probably talking about politics or something else.
" he looks so kind and caring person" I heard my mom compliment ben.
"very caring and protective person," I said and laugh
"Are you happy with him?" my mom asks me softly
no words can describe how much happy my life was when Im with ben so what can I do, I just nod
"I approve this one y/n," she said
"Really?" she nods and I hug her " what about dad?" I ask her. "oh no don't you worry about your dad, from what I can see, he already approve it from the start" she reassured me. Hopping what she just said is true.

I approach Ben and my dad, "hi" I greet them both while I wrap my arm around Ben's neck. "hello darling" he greets me back. I look at my dad and see him smiling.
"where's your mom?" dad asks, "in the kitchen with Ben's mom" he nods.
"What did you guys talking about, from what I saw from the kitchen, you guys talking about an interesting topic" I tease them
"oh nothing, it is an interesting topic, just some of your childhood stories" Ben replied

"dad!"
"what? I told him all good stories of yours okay?" he smile and I turn to look at Ben.
"really?" Ben nodded and said
"yeah, cute by the way"
"glad to hear that" I relief
"hey, the story where you nearly kill a bird with a-" Ben didn't finish his phrase cause I immediately put my hand on his mouth
"dare to finish?" I stare into his eyes, and he put his arm up to surrender. I hear my dad laughing. I look at my dad and said
"you told him didn't you," I ask him he just nods, and my mom joins us and look at me.
" oh oh, I know that look," she said and turn to look at my dad " you did something bad did you?" she ask my dad.
"yeah I told him about the bird accident" he reply to my mom's question while he can't stop laughing, soon my mom and Ben join my dad in laughing.
"cmon guys" feeling so embarrassed so I cover my face with my hand.
"awh darling" Ben remove my hand over my face. "at least you didn't do it purposely, you're a kid at that time"
"I know, but I still nearly kill the bird with a stick, I poked it too hard, but till now I thought why the bird didn't even fly away from me, it just stays," I said

As everyone already gone home, it's just left me, Ben and my parents right now.
"it's getting late, we're going back home," my mom said
"already?" feeling sad, don't want them to leave yet.
"what do you mean already? it's nearly one a.m sweetheart," my dad said. I turn to look at the watch on the wall. its true.
"we'll meet again honey" my mom hugs me and my dad kiss my head softly.

They both leave, and Ben closes the door. we both start to clean up our house.
"Ben" I call him. He turns to look at me.
"yes?" he replies
I ask him, "what did my dad whisper to your ear, earlier?"
"oh, you saw?" I nod.
"he said to me, to take care of you and don't make you upset, never break your heart and leave you, that's it" he explained
"you will never, right?" I ask him again.
"Baby, it never crossed my mind to do such as thing like that to you, as long as I live, I swear to love you till the day I die, I promise"

I fear isa and carlos have broken up theres videos of him at the party that are literally the exact same vibe as checos cheating vids last year im not saying carlos cheated but the way he noticed the camera and half dragged the women behind him and she covered her face 😬 same account as last year was the one to post it and delete it like 30 minutes later
I will say that recently carlos has been acting very different he's got a short temper on and off track to the point of having alonso and lando fans go at him which is a big switch up since they tend to be heavy defenders but from the way he's acting I do think they broke up because the way he acts is the same way charles started acting in october which is when people noticed that he and charlotte did nothing but argue and think they broke up back then

honestly i don't think carlos is acting that differently. yes he lost his temper yesterday (and couple of races back. but that is normal), but i don't think carlos is the type he would get his personal life get into his way of formula 1. but i can see where you're coming from here! ngl i am also omw to being convinced they broke up sadly. only god knows why. we can just speculate.

Max would just burn down Maranello and start over. Jos and Ray would probably help him while Charles would slowly sob into Max's shoulder because he knows it's necessary, but it still hurts.

The way I would LOVE Max to take a break from F1 and then come back for a Ferrari stint just to prove he could fix them, but he literally guts the whole team and just turns it into RB 2.0 😂😂😂
