An in no way definitive list of the things in Good Omens 2 that haunt my dreams.
The fast forwarding/rewinding sound effect in Ep1 when we are zooming in on the bookshop for the first time when Aziraphale receives Maggie's letter.
The double car honk that Aziraphale distinctly and worriedly looks out of Maggies record shop window toward. When else do we hear double car honks? 1. When Gabriel arrives in Soho, 2. when Muriel arrives in Soho, 3.???
When Shax threatens Crowley in the Bentley the plants in the backseat start shaking and squealing with fear.
The shattering/tinkling sound effect when Aziraphale gets out of the Bentley after returning from Edinburgh. Then when it happens the second time he looks confusedly back towards the noise. WHAT IS IT.
The presence/absence of Gabriel's statues cross in his flashback sequence.
The worth of a life, 5 pounds vs 90 guineas in 1827; 7 pounds 5 shillings vs 27 pounds 5 shillings in 1941. (adding this gem from @unabashedlyshadowynightmare : the cost of a flavoured latte in present day)
"high fidelity" and it being mentioned many times
The puppet resembling Crowley being named "Marv McGreedy" and the one resembling Aziraphale being named "Rodney Ryan".
The fact that Crowley revealed the body swap to Gabriel.
Shax bringing Crowley his mail at the ball.

For those who are behind and are alarmed: Shane and Ryan "splitting up" is a bit in Mystery Files (specifically the debriefs) where they stopped being friends after Ryan says he doesn't pay attention during Shane's presentations. It's similar to the Steven vs Ricky bits in Too Many Spirits, or Shane not caring that Ryan was about to be skinned alive in Puppet History. The Ghoul Boys and Watcher aren't going anywhere. It's just a bit. You can breathe. :)

ryan haters have no taste, he's great, he's so impulsive its almost funny, must touch everything. in arachnids in the uk he makes shadow puppets on the projector in the background, when the fam finally go into the tardis for the first time the doctor has to tell him specifically to not touch anything, he's great, I love him. and now im thinking about the ending of the ghost monument, god its so good, this isn't aabout ryan anymore, i have to stop typing (anonymous)

One thing I don’t think I’ve seen ppl point out about the most recent puppet history episode is that Ryan did the “stupid stupid” thing when he kept getting questions wrong and the (fake) professor just ignored it entirely and moved on immediately vs iirc in earlier seasons the professor always reassured Ryan that he wasn’t stupid and like wouldn’t move on until that was cleared up.

personally, I felt like Ghost Files was a bit overproduced, and by that I mean it felt like they spent more time and energy on making all the graphics and explaining the fancy tech they've been using than actually, y'know, exploring haunted places*1. A part of the reason why I liked bfu so much and why I felt it stood out from other TV ghost-hunting shows was that it felt like it came from "normal" people who were more interested in exploring haunted places than producing a TV show, and although I know it's always been Watcher's intention to make quote-unquote "TV-caliber videos", it just doesn't work personally with what bfu stood for*2. This also doesn't have anything to do with over-producing, but I feel like they have a few times gone into the same trap that the Try Guys often have by adding too many unnecessary rules and details to their concepts. Like I never understood why they had to hide that walkie-talkie from each other, why couldn't they just do a solo tour of the house without having to find the walkie-talkie? that's essentially what they did anyway. In that same vein, I don't understand why they've insisted on adding that whole "is it still a mystery or is it solved" segment on mystery files because it doesn't really change much to the overall concept of the show
*1 I think some of their shows thrive on being "over-produced", like puppet history for example, but I just don't think that is a vibe that works well for a show like Ghost Files
*2 I also feel it's fair to compare bfu and ghost files because those expectations and the audience from bfu is what they've been banking on
i can see where you're coming from but the spending most of their time and energy on graphics and tech for ghost files is smth i don't agree with. like the graphics are the same blueprint graphics clip they repeat in every other episode. and some of those graphics are hand drawn by another person. it's in every episode but it doesn't seem like they recreate these graphics for every episode (unless its a graphic of the location) to intensely focus their time and energy on. and more recent episodes of ghost files literally has like.. the majority of the video of them ghost hunting. usually like 45 minutes out of the hour they ghost hunt. compared to bfu they explained the lore of the location for a good 15-20 min while also interviewing people from the location out of the 45-50 min episode. so it's kinda similar, but i personally think they ghost hunt more on ghost files.
also they can't copy the same exact design/format of bfu unless they want to get sued by buzzfeed. i think that's just the reality. and they're the same normal dudes ghost hunting but with better production. their job is ghost hunting, of course they want to improve in something that's most of their job. and just bc they want to experiment with some trippy tech doesn't necessarily make them overproduced imo. they just want to explore options which isn't a bad thing, and it's something buzzfeed never allowed them to do so of course they wanna go that route.
and tbh bfu was tv-caliber content imo. lesser quality compared to ghost files, yea, but it was def something worthy of being on tv (like it was put on hulu). the lesser quality has everything to do with buzzfeed not allowing them a bigger budget, restricting their creativity, overworking their crew, and laying off their staff (which ryan and shane complained about all the time back then) versus bfu standing for something less than tv caliber. but again, i really think this just comes down to taste rather than overproduced vs not overproduced. if you prefer bfu, that's totally fine!! if you prefer ghost files, that's also totally fine. i love gf but i get why people are nostalgic for bfu since thats the series we started out with. but some people (not you anon) outright hating on gf so suddenly is ridiculous when those same people were clamoring for gf live tickets and ask that they go international.
and to your second point- while i like those concepts they add in the show, it's okay if you don't! no big deal, everyone has their own interests. and i think the whole 'is it a mystery or is it solved' is more about the videos needing to have a 'motivation' or 'theme'. and i dont get what you mean by 'adding' this concept when it quite literally is the gist of the entire show from the show's conception/beginning.
anyways, all this to say, i get where you're coming from. but people suddenly thinking this is overproduced is kind of wild in my opinion

🚀 Do you like to outline your fic first or create as you go?
🎁 Have a piece of a WIP you want to share?
🚀 Outline VS Improv
I am a planner. However, in the past when I've tried to write, I got so focused on having everything fully planned out and never actually wrote anything.
So for Spider's Web, I decided to keep meticulous planning to a minimum. The very first day I decided that I was going to actually write this thing, I sat down and wrote a BRIEF outline for the fic by chapters. I called it my Master Outline. It changed and developed over time as I realized what I needed to add, expand, or cut.
However, I'm a huge fan of improv (I've been on a few improv teams myself) so I left myself a lot of room to let things happen naturally.
Going in to each chapter, I always have thing that I want to happen, some snippets of dialogue, and a vague mood for the chapter. But sometimes-- as every writer will tell you-- the characters take off and do things you didn't plan. Raph and Mikey's huge fight in Chapter 12 was NEVER supposed to happen. Also, most of the Turtle Tots flashbacks just HAPPEN.
All that is just a long way of saying, I have a skeleton outline but will let the story go where it flows.
🎁 WIP
Well~ I guess now would be a good time to announce my next project after I finish Spider's Web: "Purple Puppet" An approximately 8 chapter fic about the Purple Dragons... creative uses of advanced technology against one Othello Von Ryan.

6.what show you wish they’d bring back?
13.an overrated show?
aaand
17.what’s your favorite thing about the fandom?
thank you!! :)
6. so many... i WISH they would bring back weird wonderful world but since it looks like that might still continue to exist in one-off form once in a while i'm gonna use this opportunity to ride for spooky small talk. i miss her so bad. love to see ryan scared and hear his mischievous little giggle and also it's such a unique setting for an interview show.
13. i don't think there is one tbh i genuinely think every show gets the amount of hype it deserves if not Less than it deserves. nothing goes over the top for me. puppet history is always an Event as it should be. mystery files and ghost files are masterpieces. are you scared is also a show they make and is treated as such.
17. how kind everyone is!! and how smart and creative and welcoming!! it's the first fandom i felt comfortable enough to actually be Active in. there's even such a huge difference from what the unsolved fandom was but maybe that's from me being here since before the launch vs getting into unsolved like a year or two later. it just seemed like there was so much going on i didn't even try. but here even if i feel a little gatekeepy sometimes i'm still happy to see everyone having fun and very little drama. at least where i hang around everyone seems to know how to mind their business and move on when someone has a take they don't like.

i loveeee yt analytics and i find your spread-sheets/watcher such a fascinating place to do it so forgive me for the word vomit:
mf so far has surpassed my expectations of how it was going to do- i was anticipating something like a few weeks/ amonth or so to get to a million because that's what the best performing puppet history episodes usually took to get there. do you have any opinions as to why these enter the algorithm better? maybe just because true crime/spooky stuff is more of an automatic click for the brain instead of historical events or they're still more well-known for that due to bfu?
my guess is that the difference in shane vs. ryan hosted eps. will be based purely on the subject matter but i do also wonder if casual viewers are more used to ryan presenting/shane commenting and more likely to watch a video with that format! time will tell! the feedback on both presentation styles seems to be largely positive, there doesn't seem to be a huge preference for one of the boys to take over so far.
it is so interesting to me how different yt is now than from when bfu was in it's heyday. nowadays episodes on these sorts of topics do 500k in a day, 800k in a weekend, 1mil in under a week - and that's considered great and trending on the yt algorithm! back in 2017, 2-3 mil was considered a reasonable marker for a bfu ep. in a week as i recall. it's also fascinating to me how yt videos "move" so to speak - some accumulate quickly and others doesn't, seemingly at random.
steven & ricky & food videos! i've noticed a jump on steven & ricky's worth a shot eps. too, which bodes well. i know you have said before that ryan & shane's stuff tends to have better opening weekends much like bfu, while steven & worth it would often enter the yt algorithm and soar the next week. curious as to whether you think that a steven show will be coming next and how you anticipate it doing.
love your work but am too shy to come off anon! hopefully this message wasn't annoying!!!
Anon do not apologize you are not annoying, it brings me such joy to talk about these things.
-i think because people see thumbnails of Ryan & Shane plus a spooky thing and they click. PH doesn't advertise either guy in the thumbnail or description so it makes sense that casual folks don't realize it's a Ryan and Shane show. I also have to assume that the weeks of promo MF got (and months for GF) contribute to their strong openings.
-i think YouTube is just not as popular in general as it was in like 2014 or so, the peak of buzzfeed days, but I'm not the best person to speak to that as I never paid attention to youtubers until these goofs in 2018.
-food shows have SUCH a different algorithm! I wonder if it's because people are more casual viewers or if they click based on topics versus personalities. I'd love hard data on this.
As for a Steven show, I'm not sure! It'll be after Ghost Files if we get one this year at all. there are 8 weeks between MF ending and GF starting so I assume Puppet History and some one-offs slide in there. But after GF I have no idea what the rest of Watcher's year will be. I'd love to see Dish Granted ofc, but Steven's said it takes up too much of his time to do a full season again. Eat Like Me has potential if they tweak the format a bit (in my humble opinion) but I'm not sure if it'll come back either. I do miss Steven on-screen terribly, TMS isn't enough! But I also respect him being the business boy.

Fantastic Four #367
Excellent!
Ben Grimm vs. his doppelgänger.
A good multi-page Thing brawl is always fun, especially when it's a Thing vs. Thing bout. But the real joy of this issue is the fact that it retells events from INFINITY WAR 2 and adds more detail, completely changing our understanding of what happened in that comic. That's rare. Plus, it's wonderful to see Sue written as such a smart and proactive heroine. Even the Puppet Master gets to play hero in this story, helping Ben defeat his attacker. I loved it.
On Sale Date: June 23, 1992.
Total Paid Circulation: 205,542 (average #359-370).

Bloodsucka Jones vs the Creeping Death (2017) Sure this is a sequel but you don't need to see the first one because you were never going to understand these wacka doo doos anyways. This schizophrenic movie throws more insane characters and jumps to more random situations or "gags" than Saturday night Live remaking Crisis on Infinite earth guzzling 20 cans of 4loco. Stewart a wacky ex vampire turned suburban male Karen bad guy slightly possessed by Ryan Reynolds has poisoned the town and is turning people into zombies. His awkward as hell vampire slaying neighbours recruit action hero Blood Sucks Jones to help them again save the day. Along the way they meet cats on skateboards, sexy librarians, ghost cheerleaders, the Stetler and Waldorf of drug dealers and a purple professor puppet. A puppet reminiscent of both Camp Death 3 in 2d and Moopet Pastor. So now you know what you're getting into..NO..No you don't. Every scene will make you laugh but you will also say what the fuck does that mean..but at least you will laugh…right? ….RIGHT? With winks and cameos of other low budget oddballs proving if they were gonna go insane they are taking everyone with them. These ab so lute maniacs cracked reality and I dare you to watch it. The film makers have a new project called Xanadu Hellfire which guess what jabronis..you can see it at Terriblefest 6 March 26th at Eyesore Cinema in Toronto. So hurry watch this nutbar film on Tubi and hurry to join us to watch their next film with us and try not to chafe your nipples on the way. #bmovies #zombies (ok it's kind of about zombies)
