Get Wild Mod by MathModder (In Progress)
What you need to know:
This mod introduces wild animals into your game map that spawn naturally in beetle spawners. It includes birds, small mammals, amphibians, more insects and reptiles in nature zones. Birds can fly and land in random locations and ground animals can be seen walking around the map.
You can choose ONE from various versions that best suit your world. Select the version that spawns specific animals suitable for your World's location.
Here's a list of potential versions that will be included in the mod:

*Versions for cities will have additional specific effects that help create a more beautiful environment for your city, such as planes in the sky, fireworks, sunshine rays during the day, and sky lanterns for the All Wildlife and Eastern Wildlife version.
**Versions for Medieval/Country towns will feature additional specific effects to enhance the beauty of your world, including hot air balloons in the sky, sunshine rays during the day, and more.
These additional effects mentioned above will appear rarely and randomly in your world.
Can I place individual animals in specific locations, such as on rocks or tables?
In a future update after launch, this function will be added, for now they will only spawn where there is a beetle spawner. Ground animals on the ground and birds in the air.
Is the mod heavy to run?
Within the game I am optimizing it so that a small number of animals spawn at the same time and only spawn at a maximum distance of 500 meters from the player's camera.
How many files will there be?
Because there are many animals and specific animations for each one, the files will be heavy, will be a maximum of 2 to 3 files. In tests in my game with 150 other mods from other creators, I didn't see any loss of performance due to the optimization I'm doing within the game.
It is worth mentioning that some files will need to be placed in the Overrides folder and others in the Packages folder, they will all be specified at launch.
Is this mod compatible with other effect mods?
Yes, it will be compatible.
Bugs:
Depending on the location, there may be some bugs such as birds landing in the air or animals walking a little above the ground, this is due to calculation problems on certain game surfaces and physics, whether hills or mountains, but over time I will update and see What can I do to reduce this. In this case I depend on the engine the game has and whether it is possible to correct certain errors.
Release date:
Between January and February 2024 (It is in the testing phase)

some Leo headcanons I have
Leo doesn't know what day his birthday is. He knows its in July, but he hasn't done anything on it since he was 8 and he used to act like it was/wasn't on certain days based on how well they went (he thinks its the 7th, but he hates the number 7 so he ignores it).
Leo has stolen and crashed a police car. He will do it again.
Leo's mother and Aunt Rosa both had dreams from Gaea that told them Leo was going to kill Esperanza, but Esperanza took it as an "he'll do it on accident bc he doesn't know how to control his powers" and Rosa took it as "It's a sign from God and this child was sent by the devil".
He's asexual biromantic, but in love with the idea of being in love.
He learns a form of script-based magic - the same thing that is etched on each stone used for the Hecate cabin. Jo is his teacher, but when he visits camp all of the Hecate cabin are happy to help him too. He views it as a code instead of magic, and only ever uses it in the things he builds because he forgets it can be useful on its own.
He's a Fall out Boy stan. Loves all types of rock too, but FOB was his gateway into it.
Every time he went to a new school if they had a music program he could join for free he would. Originally he'd just choose a new instrument every school, but on his third try he learnt drums and decided to stick with it.
HIs eyes look like yooperlite while it's glowing, but more like burning coals while he's using his powers.
On that note, Leo's body temperature can be way hotter than the normal person's. On a normal day where he's fine in everyway, he's hot but not hot enough for people to think he's feverish. When he's excited his temperature rapidly increases, as it does with stress. When he forgoes sleeping his body forgets to regulate his temperature, which leads to him either going very cold or very hot.
He can't really get fevers at all really. It's also very hard for a lot of illnesses to effect him because half the time he burns it up before he even knows its there. When he does get sick it's really bad though, because his immune system is actually pretty weak.
Related to that, he is the only known person who can currently be a theoretical host to a thermophile virus. Not that he would, but it is a thought that has crossed his mind.
He has a hobby of making little robots. He makes Piper a bronze eagle one as a present and he slowly starts to make them for his friends
Annabeth gets a cat because he thinks she has cat vibes and an owl would be basic. Percy gets an otter because Leo did not want to think about making a robot fish that works well out of water. Frank gets a chameleon as a joke, but he makes it so it can turn into a small dragon too. Hazel gets a snake, again for the vibes. Nico gets a lizard. Just like, a nondescript lizard. He makes Reyna a bronze dog to "complete the metal set", but it's based of a Molossus of Epirus instead of a hound. Jo and Emmie get matching gryphons, and Georgina's little robot is a llama. Leo makes himself a wolf in honour of Jason.
On the topic of making things, Leo also gets really into all forms of metalsmithing. Which includes making jewellery, which leads to him getting a lot of piercings. Piper does too, because they went to go get the piercings together. He loves giving people little friendship bracelets, and charms, and ornaments. He makes people themed cutlery sets.
His love language is gift giving, if it's not obvious.
He stays in contact with Apollo, but in order to not upset Zeus they frame it as 'music lessons'. As the inventor of the Valdezinator (and its best player), it's a pretty good excused. Leo does make new instruments occasionally when they feel like they're pushing the 'lesson' excuse.
They fr just gossip during them though, and then give each other a scuffed form of therapy. They go from talks about petty drama to unanswerable philosophical discussions to jokes that make no sense.

Celestrian Masterlist
I have some fittingly angelic OC's that I wanted to give a DQIX AU, so I looked through the wiki + double-checked some stuff of my own accord and felt like sharing it here too - this list will be updated as I replay through the game and do things like "counting every single Celestrian found in game" and similar fascinating tasks. This list will likely contain spoilers, as well as the birds each of the constellations the Celestrians are named after are associated with.
NON-GUARDIANS:
- Apus Major, leader and eldest of the Celestrians. His bird is a bird of paradise :)
- Columba, presumably a librarian. Her bird is a dove. Seems to have been familiar with Corvus previously, and is close with Aquila now
- Aquila, former Guardian of Angel Falls, twin brother of Pavo, the protagonist's mentor and former apprentice of Corvus. His bird is the eagle.
- Pavo, the one who opens and closes the Rapportal and allows the player to use the multiplayer function. The only Celestrian to live in the Protectorate, and (younger) twin sister of Aquila. Her bird is the peacock.
GUARDIANS:
- You! :) Angel Falls is all yours
- Tucana, one of two Guardians of Stornway. Their bird is the toucan!
- Cygnus, the other of the two Guardians of Stornway. Their bird is the swan.
- Vultur, Guardian of Gleeba. Their bird is, as one might guess, the vulture.
- Noctua, Guardian of Swinedimples Academy. Fittingly, their bird is an owl.
- Corvus, the sort-of-sort-of-not Guardian of Wormwood Creek. His bird is the crow.
OTHER GUARDIAN STATUES:
- Zere - noted to be crumbling and broken. I'd assume this is because the villagers treat the tree at the centre of the village as a guardian instead.
- Coffinwell - two statues, actually, but no names
- Alltrades Abbey - weirdly, none. There is a statue behind Abbot Jack, but I think that looks more like Celestria, personally. Noting it regardless!
- Zere Rocks - has a statue, but given the context of how it was made there's no way to know if it would even have a Guardian to go with it.
- Bloomingdale - statue, no name
This leaves us with Porth Llaffan (which worships Leviathan over the Celestrians), Slurry Quay, Dourbridge, Batsureg (nomadic, might not have statues because of this) and Upover (which has Greygnarl) without statues, but not necessarily without Guardians. I also made a point of checking Gerzuun (which does have a church, notably, and the bodura grass as a thing to worship) and Brigadoom, but couldn't find any there either.
Beyond that, all Celestrians are unnamed (I'll get to how many of those there are later!). That being said, there are actually two major bird related constellations left (that I could find with some very surface level research) that aren't used as names within the game. Namely Grus (crane) and Phoenix (self-explanatory). I like to think that Phoenix would be a good fit for Alltrades Abbey, given the association with rebirth, though I'm still figuring out where I personally would place Grus. (I also think that Phoenix would be a very interesting fit for Brigadoom or Zere, Rocks or otherwise, for similar reasons)
That being said, since most of the constellation names for birds are also just their genuses, it's pretty easy to find a number of canon compliant names that will fit right in should you choose to make your own :) happy questing !

Birds of Thargelion
After this I just have Maglor’s Gap and that will complete my series on birds in the Fëanorian realms pre Amon Ereb!
Flora, fauna, geography and environment of Arda Masterlist
Thargelion was the realm of Caranthir, located in the north east of Beleriand just north of Ossiriand and bordered by the Ered Luin, the eastern stretch of mountains that divided Beleriand from the rest of Middle Earth
As always this is not a definitive list! Please feel free to ask more or give me a more specific category!
Around Lake Helevorn and the rivers: Red-breasted merganser, mute swan, white tailed dipper, whooper swan, smew, little grebe, red throated loon, common crane, mallard, common white eye, northern shovler, green winged teal, corn crake, spotted crake, black winged stilt

World building notes
-Like most of the Noldor in Eastern Beleriand, many of Caranthir’s scouts keep birds of prey. In Thargelion these are primarily peregrine falcons and kestrels. Hunting with birds was less common however.
--There are populations of Green Elves who live in Thargelion, primarily in the mountains and near the border of Ossiriand. Though they also do not use birds for hunting, certain species are kept as companions or messengers.
-Chicken breeding as an art and science developed during the Watchful Peace. Chickens in Thargelion are appraised for long plumage and colorful feathers. Their eggs are eaten but they are not often used for meat.
-Chickens, peacocks and quails were kept by the Noldor of Thargelion, techniques of raising and breeding them were learned from Sindar and Silvan cultures of Eastern Beleriand. Indeed the Noldor of Thargelion were one of the only Noldor populations to keep quails.
-Bearded vultures appear on the crests of some of Caranthir’s lords and were even kept by a few of them
-Feathers of various mountain birds especially eagles and ouzel appear in wood carvings as an architectural motif during the Watchful Peace in Thargelion
-Out of all the Fëanorian realms, water birds appear most often in art and other cultural references in Thargelion as Lake Helevorn and its wildlife are a central facet of life there especially in times of peace. Wading birds like crakes, cranes and stilts are especially Valued.

Ravenclaw headcanons
late nights, EARLY mornings. Survives on coffee, tea, occasionally hot chocolate
the most dedicated readers ever! Will start five books series but knows what’s happening in every single one.
not necessarily great grade students. But tries as hard as heck and could get straight b’s. Loves one study over another, aka has favorites.
loves to stare out the owlery windows at sunrise and sunset. Enjoys the silent castle in the mornings and exploring the generally stayed away from halls.
the common room is definitely not gender ruled. Boys and girls will run in the other dormitories to yell their new idea or freak out about book characters. “We’re all claws, why does gender matter?” Yes obviously they won’t come in if you room says no visitors, they respect others.
I’ve seen a lot of sass talking the eagle knocker. Fully support this with the younger years looking at the older students in awe.
actually swearing a lot cause of where they picked it up in books.
tells slytherins their passwords bc the slytherins will come in for deep late night debates. It gets fierce. Others laughing because they’re debating rocking chairs over straight backed ones.
nyctophilias-huge lovers of the stars and the night sky. The house will all chart the moon and try to all sneak up to the astronomy tower on lunar eclipses.
bibliophiles-lovers of books. If you drop their book, run.
their aesthetic is the sun on a book, curling up in a chair with a friend and a mug of tea, adding notes on newts or owls to the bust of Rowena ravenclaw, laughing at two until your sides hurts, conjuring up a freakin piano to play when others are studying, gasping in complete awe when they see the stars at night, telling other weird random facts, taking pictures of the castle bc of course the ravenclaws have figured out how to get tech on the grounds. Catching the weasley twins in the middle of a prank then laughing and helping them to make it better.
if they dated….
a hufflepuff, it would be the most meaningful relationship ever. Small gifts to each other, friendly games of anything, sharing to each other the secrets of the soul and mind, stargazing with each other, the hufflepuff would help the claw with baking, bc claws are actually really bad at it. The ravens could help them with homework.
a Griffindor, it would be a very playful relationship. They would think up the best pranks together, and none of the teachers know who is responsible. The Griffindor would teach them quidditch and the ravenclaw could (try) to teach them patience. They would fall asleep together from pure exhaustion as they were having a very busy day together. They would eat together and sit together at class no matter house seating
a slytherin, it would be a very deep relationship. It would be talks about their problems at one, or sharing a coffee. They would scheme together and the Griffindors would never get them back. They would walk on the grounds, talking about the meaning of life. At first they were both very nervous around each other. For the ravenclaw, it was the only time life was a mystery. For the slytherin, they couldn’t play it cool and act smart, bc there’s no doubt that the ravenclaw was smarter then them.

I’m a huge fan of daemon/spirit animal/animal shifter form AUs and I can be convinced Iceman’s animal is just about anything with enough conviction or headcanons, so I decided to put together a poll for outside input.

8 March 2024 - Friday Field Notes
VIBs (Very Important Birds) - Juvenile Red-tailed Hawk, Western Meadow Lark, taxidermied Great Horned Owl. It's that time of year again when strange things start appearing in my car...
Things on the prairie are very slowly starting to wake up. Got the chance to spend a good chunk of time out of the field this week and not at my desk. Which is my favorite part of the day job. Got to do a bird count earlier in the week and explored for three hours along the creek with a couple of coworkers yesterday to scout for spots to put game cameras. Saw four Northern Harrier Hawks, the Bald Eagles, heard all the Western Meadowlarks, Pronghorn, Prairie Dogs, spiders, one lone grasshopper, and spooked a Coyote out of the Coyote Willow. Also met a couple of new plants too.
I found many treasures; I know what a Willow Pinecone Gall Midge is now, American Licorice reminds me of little Korok maracas, Pronghorn bones, a lovely pink rock. Trying to see if I can actually nature journal more regularly this year too and I've got a couple pages in already!
I'm ready for spring. I've got too many wild gardening schemes.

I know there’s a lot of them, but man there’s SO MANY GOOD BIRDS! There were a few times where people didn’t put what specific subspecies for some birds, so sometimes I’d have to choose one. I tried to choose one that represents that bird the best!
I don’t know when the polls will begin, I’m doing some research on the birds so that people can read about them before they vote.
