“Aneka, you will lead this mission.
General,” the word comes off her tongue like a tease, knowing she’s driving a spear through Okoye’s heart. “Fall back.”

Vanish Pt. 1 here

A moment of silence passed.
Riri stood frozen in place, shocked at her own words, knowing she didn’t mean them.
Shuri sobbed on her knees, silently pleading for Bast to not take another person out of her life.
Hell, even Griot was quiet, not announcing your departure as he was programmed to do.
“What are you waiting for?” Shuri stood and approached Riri so quickly, the smaller girl flinched. “Why are you standing here? Go after her!”
“Shuri, I-”
“Go get her!” The Queen growled, voice cracking as she begged.
Riri’s mouth opened and closed, her brain working double time for anything to say. “She-I didn’t-”
Her responses weren’t quick enough to extinguish Shuri’s anger. The Black Panther lifted Riri’s entire workstation in one hand and threw the table and all its contents.
Iron Heart ducked, praying the impact of the desk wouldn’t take her head off. It didn't; it hadn’t even hit her, instead crashing to the wall mere inches away from her body.
“Shuri, what the fu-”
But Shuri was already on her way out of the lab, ignoring Riri and shouting orders, “Griot!”
“Yes, My Queen?”
“Do I have any visuals on y/n’s location?”
“No, My Queen. Queen Y/n has abandoned her kimoyo bracelet here in the lab.”
“What about her earrings?”
“Left behind in your bedroom, Queen Shuri.”
“FUCK,” the explicit echoed in the lab, causing Riri to retreat into herself.
“Griot, summon Nakia, Okoye, Ayo, and Aneka. I need all hands for this mission. Tell them to meet me in the throne room.”
“Yes, Your Majesty.”
“Wait,” Riri called out, grimacing at how small her voice suddenly sounded. “What can I do?”
The doors to the lab’s entrance parted, letting Shuri leave without so much as opening her mouth to address Riri. The only sound then was that of dainty metal coming in contact with the steel floors.
Riri approached the door slowly to investigate what Shuri had left behind.
It was her wedding band.
“What is this about, My Queen?” Okoye asked, being the first to enter the throne room. Ayo and Aneka followed closely behind, their spears drawn at an unknown attacker.
Nakia was absent.
Shuri’s eyes were still puddled with tears and the anger radiating from her produced a heat the other girls could feel as soon as they approached.
Aneka looked down at Shuri’s hand, eyes searching for the wedding ring that never left it. Of course, it wasn’t there.
“Y/n is gone. We need to bring her back.”
“Gone?” Okoye mimicked. “Gone where? Who has taken her? What are we up against?”
“Sh-she left. She left us. Left behind her beads, even the earrings and her-”
“Her wedding band…” Aneka finished. “But, where is yours?”
Shuri looked down at her bare finger, unable to speak.
“My Queen,” Okoye started gently. “With all due respect, you are asking me to convene my army and explain to them our threat… Are your relationship issues?”
The Queen rose from her throne, so slowly, it gave Okoye ample time to retract her words; her steps shaking the mostly empty room.
“I am asking you to convene your army, General,” the words came out hot, burning Okoye to the core, even causing the couple standing behind her to wince.
“To ensure the safety and safe return of your Queen.”
“Shuri, she took her band off,” Okoye was a brave soul, not backing down.
“She is still your Queen! Regardless of the ring she wears. Mine is off, does that not make me your Queen, Okoye?”
“It’s not the same, Princess, and you know-”
“Queen.” Shuri’s thin body is shaking with the rage that fills it. She looks away from Okoye, even past Ayo to her friend Aneka.
“Aneka, you will lead this mission. General,” the word comes off her tongue like a tease, knowing she’s driving a spear through Okoye’s heart. “Fall back.”
The General’s eyes are wide but she nods at the command. Aneka steps forward, poised tall, and in stance. “Yes, My Queen.”
She offers a small smile to the royal, a sad, knowing one, but Shuri doesn’t return it. “Find y/n. I don’t care what it takes; resources, money, you have it all. Ensure she is safe. Br-” her voice finally breaks and the tears descend her cheeks. “Bring her home to me.”
“My Queen,” Ayo offers slowly. “What-what if she does not wish to return?”
Shuri’s chest retracts, all the air leaving her body. She hadn’t considered that; you not wanting to come home, not to Riri, nor even to her.
“I said bring her home.”
The command came out in a whisper, the Queen no longer being able to talk at a volume above that.
The Wakandan warriors brought their arms across their chest and back down, saluting their Queen before leaving the room. Only Aneka lingered.
When it was just the two of them, she rushed to Shuri, pulling her into a hug she clearly needed. “What happened?”
Shuri’s sobs swept her feet from under her and she fell to the floor, still arm-in-arm with her friend.
“She left us, Aneka. Sh-she left me.”
“Why?”
Shame rushed through the royal’s veins. “We-” she paused a beat, deciding herself unable to speak on Riri’s behalf. “I,” she corrected. “I haven’t been very supportive lately. I broke many promises. I let my work in the lab and with Riri take precedence and she felt forgotten… I even forgot her birthday…”
Aneka gasped “My Queen…”
Shuri nodded. “I’d been distracted. I let that get in the way, and now she’s gone.”
Aneka took Shuri’s left, ringless hand in her own. “That explains why she left her ring behind, but my Shuri, where is yours?”
A sinful scoff left Shuri’s lips “Probably still in the lab with Ri-Miss Williams, where I left it.”
“Miss Williams? Shuri, my dear friend, what is going on?”
Shuri is silent.
Aneka sighs “So when we bring y/n home, My Queen, will she be returning to you and Miss Williams?”
“No,” Shuri stands, tapping her necklace twice and allowing the Black Panther mask to swallow her face. “Just me.”
It’s been weeks.
Three weeks since the search for you began.
Shuri stormed into the lab, mask retracting as she entered.
“Queen Shuri has arrived.”
Riri’s head shot up from her new workstation; she hadn’t seen Shuri in days. She rarely came home anymore, spending days and nights looking for you and coming up short each time.
“Griot!” the agitated queen bellowed.
“Yes, My Queen?”
“Have we any updates via satellite? Has y/n been seen anywhere?”
“Unfortunately not, My Queen.”
Shuri’s shoulders slumped, weighing heavy with another defeat. “What about Nakia?”
“I’m afraid not, My Queen.”
“Bast!” Shuri allowed herself a second to rest her head in her hands before starting to mask up again.
“Wait!” Riri called out, approaching the Queen. “Wait, Shuri, let me help. Please, I want to find her too; I wanna know she's safe just as bad as you do.”
The Black Panther’s posture stiffened, though she didn’t speak. Riri tried again “Y-You don’t have Nakia. You need an extra pair of hands. I can help.”
Shuri laughed, an evil-sounding chuckle coming from her. “I do not need your help.” She approached Riri. “I would not even be searching for her, had you been able to hold your stupid tongue, hm?”
Riri cringed at the words Shuri spoke but didn’t shy away. “I want to help. She’s just as much my wife as she is yours, and I miss her.”
Shuri shook her head, but never let her eyes leave Riri’s face. “She is not. She will not be. When she comes home, she will be coming home to me. Damned to you.”
That rocked Riri to her core. “Shuri, come on, you don’t mean that.”
“I mean it. I mean it in the same way you meant it when you called her the forgotten wife.”
The smaller girl grimaced when her words were thrown back at her. She had been thinking over those words for weeks; losing sleep over how she spoke to you.
Before she could utter another word, Shuri left, leaving Riri where she stood, but not before the Queen noticed something that tugged at her stoned heart, only slightly.
Riri was still wearing her wedding ring.
Two weeks since Nakia returned.
“Queen Shuri, you are being summoned to the throne room.”
Shuri lifted her head, not realizing she’d dozed off in the Talon Fighter while on patrol. “Summoned? By who?” The girl asked, rubbing sleep from her eyes.
“Nakia of The River Tribe,” Griot responded.
“Nakia? She is in the throne room? At the palace?”
“Yes, My Queen.”
“Griot, return me at once.”
“Yes, My Queen.”
Moments later, Shuri crashed through the doors to the sacred room. Nakia stood on the furthest side of the room, glancing sadly out the windows. The sight of her fueled the Queen’s anger. “Where the hell have you been?!”
The former spy didn’t even attempt a fake smile. “Hello to you too, sister,” she stated smoothly, turning to face the vexed royal.
“Where is she, Nakia?”
“She is safe. That is all you need to know; it is all that she requested I share with you.”
Shuri approached her brother’s lover with claws drawn. “Nakia, Bast help you, where is she?”
“Oy? Am I to tell you? Y/n came to me, crying, your majesty. She told me her wives wanted her no longer. Rejection from one partner hurts, can you imagine that from two partners?”
The Queen couldn’t speak; The warrior continued.
“I watched, as the two of you fell out of love with her. Prioritized each other over her. You didn’t even attend the school’s opening. We’d worked on that for years, Shuri. And her birthday?” she scoffed. “You were supposed to be better than that.”
Nakia closed the gap between her and Shuri, grabbing her claw-clad hands. “You must have forgotten. You’ve forgotten who you spent your childhood with. Who grew up alongside you,” she tapped Shuri’s temple as if to bring the memories to the forefront. “You seem to have trouble recalling who was there for you when Baba died. When T’Challa died. All before Miss Riri even came into the picture.”
Shuri’s head fell, shame a feeling she was all too familiar with these days. “I had forgotten. I am trying to fix it,” she whispered, recollections of the two of you flooding her. “But I can not fix it if I do not know where she is.”
Her eyes climbed to the smaller girl’s hopeful, begging, but when Nakia closed her lips tight and shook her head, Shuri’s anger reignited.
“Demethi wena (Damn you), Nakia!”
“Yehlisa umoya, sisi (Calm down, sister). Uzofika ekhaya xa sele elugile (She will come home when she is ready)-”
“Hayi, hayi (No, no)! Ndiyamdinga (I need her). Ndiyamdinga ekhaya ngoku (I need her home now)!”
“Uya kuba nethamsanqa ukuba angafika ekhaya (You will be lucky if she comes home at all)!”
Shuri spun, Nakia’s words recoiling against her. “Intoni (What)?”
When Nakia looks away, rather than speaking, Shuri marches toward her. “INTONI (WHAT)?!” she repeats.
She takes Nakia’s face in her hands, roughly. A line of scarlet flashes from Nakia’s cheek, where Shuri’s claw is digging, but neither girl moves. “Wena (You)-” the Queen croaks. “Wena undincedile ukumkanikazi wam ukuba andisindise (You have helped my queen escape me for good)?”
“Hayi, sisi (No, sister). Ndamncedisa wahmba ade alunge (I helped her leave until she is ready).”
Shuri extends her arm, throwing Nakia forcefully into the window. The thud of her sister’s body does nothing to calm her. Nakia is barely on her feet when Shuri speaks. “Hamba (Leave). Kwaye ungabuyi ade abuye umkam (And do not return until my wife does).”
The River Tribe Warrior is shocked. “Shuri, uthini (What are you saying)?”
The Queen’s lips curl around her next words. “ Elubhacweni (Exile).”
Nakia crumbles. “Sisi, ndiyacela (Sister, please). Likhaya lam eli (This is my home).”
“Was this your home when you missed my brother’s last days? His funeral? Was it your home when you hid my nephew from me for six years, the same way you hide my wife now?” Shuri questioned, switching tongues.
“Shuri, oko akufani (That is not the same)! It was my home when I saved you and your lover’s asses from Namor! When I risked my life, though I had a son to live for. It was my home when I laid there,” Nakia pointed to the now repaired spot on the throne room floor, the events of Queen Ramonda’s death no longer staining the place. “Resuscitating your wife! Trying to save umama (mama)!”
“Lishiye ibhotwe lam, Nakia (Leave my palace, Nakia).”
One week since Riri started her own search for you.
Shuri wasn’t speaking to her, ordering Okoye, Ayo, and Aneka to do the same. Riri’s communication was cut off, even Griot subjecting her to silence.
One night, she decided enough was enough. She hadn’t been able to sleep since you left and she was growing tired of being left in the dark.
If anyone needed to find you, it was Riri. She needed to be the one to locate you and retract her vile words. There wouldn’t be an apology great enough, but she sure would try.
So Iron Heart suited up and quietly left the palace. She didn’t bother removing her kimoyo beads, knowing Shuri was no longer keeping track of her. The realization stung, but it was well-deserved. She let her frustrations get to her and that Chicago attitude and pride presented themselves.
The words spilled from her big mouth before she had time to realize what she was saying. Riri was just as hurt as you were; feeling as though the love she and Shuri showed you were going unappreciated. Their time dedicated to the lab, their sleepless nights, and their repeat failures were just to keep you safe.
“C’mon baby, where’d you go?” Riri spoke lowly to no one, navigating the suit towards Haiti. It’d be a dumb place for you to hide; Shuri would have surely checked there already.
And of course, you weren’t there.
The following day, Riri searched the States. You had no reason to be in America, but that’s exactly why you’d seek refuge there. Again, her search came up short.
Today, Riri was ready to give up. She’d spent many days, many hours looking for you all alone. If Shuri and her team hadn’t found you yet, surely Riri wouldn’t all by her lonesome.
She sauntered through the village, sadness dragging in each of her steps. “Uxolo (Excuse us)!” children’s voices called as they ran across her path. Riri stopped short, avoiding running the tikes down. “Oh, um, sorry!” the girl spoke, understanding their simple word, yet still not knowing how to respond in their language.
One child, a young girl whose hair was adorned in barrettes, turned to give Riri a wave. When she skipped back to her group of friends, she spoke “Yiza, khawuleza (Come, hurry)! Utitshala Y/n ndiza kubuya namhlanje (Teacher Y/n is to return today).”
Riri understood not a single word from the girl’s sentence as they disappeared into your school. None except your name. So she followed.
“Uh, excuse me,” she called once she entered the building, searching desperately for an adult. “Uxolo (Excuse me)?”
“Hello, Your Majesty,” a tall gentleman spoke up, approaching the short royal.
Riri cringed, her royal title sounding foreign to her these days. “Mholweni (Hello), um, hi.”
“What can we do for you? We are very blessed to be acquainted with your presence, though we were not expecting you.”
“Yeah, um, I-” Riri stuttered, unable to form a sentence, the words scrambling around her mind too fast for her lips to keep up.
“My wife,” she finally choked out. “My wife, Y/n. Is she here?”
The older man’s eyes were saddened. “No, Your Majesty. She is not set to come back today.”
“Please,” Riri was close to tears as she begged. “Um, ndiyacela (please). I heard the children mention her name. I just-” The tears flowed. “I just want to know she’s safe.”
The man must’ve felt some pity for the lonely queen, crying in his hallway, pleading. A genuine chuckle released from his chest. “Your Xhosa is not very good.” His words shocked Riri and for the first time in weeks, she laughed a real, hearty laugh. “No, it’s not,” she sniffled.
“But you are trying.”
Her head bobs as she nods a confirmation to his words.
He sighs, grabbing Riri’s hands and pulling her out of reach of passing ears. “Your majesty, tonight the school is having an event. A banquet; to raise money for the Haiti institution. The Queen has promised her return for the event. She will be here then.”
More tears flow from the small girl’s pretty brown eyes. Her queen would be back, tonight.
Did Shuri know?
With a gentle squeeze, the fellow started to leave. “Wait,” Riri called. “Enkosi, mhlekazi (Thank you, sir). What is your name?”
“Emmanuel, Your Majesty.”
“Thank you, Emmanuel.”
Riri raced back to the palace on foot, too excited to wait for the Talon Fighter, though it would have been quicker. She sprinted into the throne room, hopeful that Shuri would be there.
She was, with Aneka. “Kufuneka sijonge iHaiti kwakhona (We need to check Haiti again).  Ndiyazi Nakia umfihle apho (I know Nakia is hiding her there).”
“I found her!” Riri interrupts.
Aneka turns to the girl first, then back to her queen, who refuses to look up. “Aneka, sishiye (Leave us). Enkosi, mhlobo (Thank you, friend).”
With a nod and a salute, Aneka leaves the throne room, leaving the two queens who haven’t spoken in days.
“Shuri, baby, I found her.”
“Where is she?” the panther asks, still not making eye contact.
“She’ll be here tonight,” Riri takes slow, careful steps to Shuri, unable to gauge her emotions and not wanting to set her off. “The school’s having a fundraiser. She’ll be here.”
Shuri glances at her wife “How do you know this?”
“I went to the school.”
With a bite of her lip and a swift nod, Shuri dismisses Riri. “Thank you for the information. You may leave.”
“Leave? Shuri, what the hell do you mean leave?”
A deep, impatient sigh is brought forth by the Queen. “I know you know what leave means.”
“Nah, to hell with that, Shuri! I’m not leaving. I’m the one who gave you the intel. Imma be there with you. I’m a part of this mission now. I should have been from the start.”
Shuri steps closer to Riri, seemingly to intimidate her, though the girl doesn’t appear scared. “A mission that would have never come to pass had you not said what you did.”
Riri’s heart thumps hard in her chest. “And I’m trying to make up for it, Shuri. How am I supposed to apologize if you keep shutting me out?”
The question is rhetorical; Ri keeps talking. “You not entirely innocent in this either. You broke promises too. Ignored her just as much as I did. You,” she stabs a finger into Shuri’s armorless chest. “Forgot her birthday too, princess. Your shit stink too, Shuri. So forget that shit; y/n is my wife. That’s my girl and I been missing her heavy. So I’m coming tonight.”
A smirk sneaks its way across Shuri’s face. “There you go with that mouth again.”
“Yeah, here I go with my mouth again, a mouth I don’t know how to close and a mouth that don’t know how to hold its tongue. That’s why y’all was supposed to do it for me.”
Shuri shakes her head, frizzy curls swaying across her face. A bright smile, her first in weeks stretches her lips. “Alright, let’s bring our girl home.”
The night comes quickly and as present as you’re trying to appear at your function, anxiety is running through you. Being home brings forth a mix of emotions; excitement for the banquet, and familiarity at the faces you’ve missed. And worry that somehow word of the event that you swore your staff to secrecy over hadn’t remained confidential during your absence.
Nakia was at your side, acting as both a friend and a bodyguard. “You did not have to come,” you spoke to her. “I didn’t need protection. The queens; they will not hurt me. Shuri will be more upset at your presence than mine.”
The small scar on her cheek marked evidence of Shuri’s anger in the passing weeks. You’d apologized repeatedly to your dear friend, but she didn’t blame you. “Your wife has a temper. She always has. I’ll be fine, she just needs some time to calm down.”
Her eyes move towards the entrance of the school as the doors part and Aneka, along with Ayo and Okoye precede your wives. “Speaking of the queens…”
Hayi, akukho ndlela imbi (No, no fucking way). When you turn, the breath escapes you. Shuri and Riri. The Black Panther and Iron Heart. Their eyes locked intensely on you.
You look around at your staff, wondering which one had loose lips. “Nakia,” Shuri greeted when they approached. Nakia stays silent and Shuri continues. “I owe you an apology, for our disagreement those weeks ago. I am sorry, sisi.” To you, she switches tongues as she asks “Ikumkani wam (My queen), singathetha (can we talk)?” with an outstretched hand.
No, your heart screams, but your movements betray you. Placing your palm in hers, you allow Her Majesty to guide you outside, where the Royal Talon Fighter awaits, with Riri in tow.
None of you speak until the ship’s doors were encapsulated, providing all the privacy in the world. When they did, it was you to break the silence. A loud slap echoed in everyone’s ears, your hand coming in contact with Riri’s cheek. Breathing hard, you voiced “I’ve been waiting to do that for weeks. Sorry, Riri, I didn’t find a bitch to give your wishes of luck to.”
Shuri stood, slightly amused until her cheek was the next to be assaulted. “And you. You’re lucky I’m not skilled with any weapons for the way you returned my Nakia to me. Her face bloody, her ribs broken. What the hell is wrong with you?”
Though her face stung, Riri’s ears perked up. “Your Nakia?”
Shuri stared at you, her brain wondering the same.
“Put your petty jealousy to rest. It has been three weeks, do the two of you really think so little of me to find another lover in that short time, especially one who is so close to you, Shuri? We’ve known Nakia since we were kids.”
Shuri nods, clearing her head, and starts to open her mouth, but Riri beats her to it. She comes at you fast, throwing her arms around you so tightly, it steals your breaths. “I’m sorry, ma. I’m so fucking sorry.” The tears are already spilling down her cheeks. “I don’t know how I could have said those things to you.”
You unwrap her hold on you. “You said them because you meant them.”
Riri’s head shakes furiously. “I didn’t, y/n, my love. I swear I didn’t.”
Her eyes are swimming with sincerity and it breaks the cement that had formed around your heart. You grab her face. “You swear?”
She leans into your touch. “I will spend the rest of my life showing you I didn’t mean it, ma.”
You nod slowly. “You know I owe you more than just a slap, right? For speaking to me like I’m some bitch on the streets and not your wife of four years?”
A tiny smile crosses Riri’s features. “Let me suit up and you can take all the shots you want at me.”
“Uh, uh. You don’t get the suit.”
Your words bring a laugh from the small girl, one that passes onto you.
Shuri stands back, hands in her pocket, just watching. She’s silently wiping her own tears, but when you finally look upon her, she takes it as an in.
“Yiza apha, usana (Come here, baby).”
You obey, releasing Riri from your hold as you glide over to your queen. She pulls you in by your waist, holding your body tightly against hers. “Uyakhumbula xa ndivuma iimvakalelo zam ngawe (Do you remember when I confessed my feelings for you)?”
Your head bobs. “We were children; only about 12 years old.”
“Ewe, kukanikazi wam (Yes, my queen). And what did you tell me?”
A giggle escapes you as you recall. “Nditshate, ukuba uyandithanda (Marry me if you love me).”
Shuri shares your laughter. “Ewe, nkosazana (Yes, princess). Bendikuxelele ukuba ndizakwenza kamsinya kangangoko ndinako (I told you I would as soon as I could).”
“Kwaye wenze (And you did).”
“Nda (I did).”
The tears in Shuri’s eyes threaten to spill over. “I made that promise to you at 12 years old, and I kept it. However, for some reason, at our grown age, I made promises to you weeks ago that I did not keep.”
Your head drops just as the tears do, unable to look your wife in her face. Shuri’s having none of that though, gently grabbing your chin and pulling your gazes back into unison.
“Uxolo, sthandwa (I’m sorry, my love). Ndingu (I am). I’ve been slacking, but I won’t continue to. Please, come home. Ukukukhanya kwan (You are my light), and my world has been so dark these past few days. I can not bare it anymore.”
Her words crack any further hardening of your heart. “Ewe, sthandwa (Yes, my love). I’ll come home.”
Shuri buries her head in your neck, kissing and crying, “Enkosi,” repeating from her lips. Riri stands back, weeping harder at the display before her. You reach your hand out to her, “Yiza, ntombazana sisidenge.”
Riri stands still, eyebrows raised, brown, hopeful eyes piercing your own loving ones. “Translate?”
“Come here, silly girl.”

--𝐀𝐈𝐑𝐏𝐋𝐀𝐍𝐄 𝐌𝐎𝐃𝐄; Riri Williams.
But my third eye is going blind,
I'm unaligned with my body and mind
It's playing tricks, I say I'm fine
But really, It's hurting me deep inside.

|| you have been in love with Riri Williams for a while now, but she can't seem to open her eyes to see that. She starts to experiment and see others -- which you have to hide your hurt.
A/n : yall i loveeee this song so much you don't understand, so I thought why not make it into a lil fic?

Airplane mode -- limbo . ☆
YOU BOUNCED YOUR KNEE up and down as you waited for Riri's text, maybe call..? she had went on a date with some guy on tinder. The name rolled off her tounge whenever she said it.
You had hoped , desperately hoped it went wrong. Truth is, Riri has been your first love for years now..and yet she still hasn't noticed.
You were too shy to make a move, and you were worried that your friendship would end if you slipped up--which you didnt want. Even if she didn't like you back, you still loved her and wanted her in your life.
Cause I been dreaming about you, oooh
I've been wishing that I was next to you, oooh
I've been dreaming of us, oooh
I've been thinking that this is not a need or a must, but....
You sighed shakily as you switched your phone on and checked your messages.
Riri : you home?
Riri : nvm I'm already here haha
You then hear a knock on the door and you get up from your couch to answer it. Its Riri, of course. You thought it would be. "The date went great!" She squeals as she makes herself comfortable in your apartment.
You smile sadly and choke back tears. "Thats amazing." You say as you go to your kitchen to grab a cold water from your fridge, your back to her.
You gulp it down, just to stop the tears and your shaky nerves. "You thinking of seeing him again?" You give her a tight lipped smile and take a seat next to her.
"Yeah.." she lays her head on your shoulder and stares at the TV.
Gosh, you loved when she did that.
"He just like..has the same interests that I do, and he's exactly my type..and I just feel like.."
"-he's the match for you?" You finish her sentence. She nods slowly as looks up at you with her doe eyes.
"I love you, y/n."
Your heart thumps as you try to muster up some words to say. "You love me?" You say as you nibble your lip.
"Of course I love you, you're my best friend."
Oh.
"Yeah...I..love you too." You say, giving her a shaky smile, blinking back tears once again.
Fuck. You really thought. Why would you expect that? Your dream was just a dream. And nothing could even change that. Gosh, you felt stupid--thinking she'd feel the same way. Why couldn't you just stop loving her?
I'm sorry, baby
Please puppy
I'm trying to be ultra mega happy
And show you my smile
And send you my feelings,
And fuck it is so hard
Being so damn far....

YOU HAD BEEN avoiding Riri for a while now as you knew your feelings were about to be hurt, badly. Truth is, you need to move on too. She'd never see you in that way. Not even a small chance.
Riri wasn't in for it though, she bombarded you with messages day and night. She'd make plans, you'd decline any chance you'd get.
Until today -- when she decided to pound on your door at three in the morning. "Y/n, open this door!" A faint voice said as you heard knocking.
Damn, you fell asleep on the couch. Cold, uneaten popcorn sat on your coffee table and your 90's sitcom paused. You rub your eyes and get up to see who it is.
Riri. You can't get yourself out of this one. You open the door, leaving the chain locked. "I know you've been avoiding me." She says, you scan her outfit, some sweats, a black crop top and her hair in a satin scarf--tied.
"Why y/n?" You open the chain and she waltzes in. "Did i say something wrong? Did I offend you -- I'm sorry I got caught up and --"
I've been waiting on you, ooh
I've been waiting for you to tell me those three words too cause
I been hoping its true, ooh
"No..its..maybe its better you don't know. I dont want to ruin our friendship and I dont want to make it awkward." You let out a sharp exhale as you avoid eye contact.
"Cmon..we're 4lifers right? You can tell me anything and you know that." She says reassuringly.
"Fuck it..im in love with you Riri, I have been for a while now. I understand if you dont want to be friends because I ruin everything like I always do and you'd never see me that way and I'm sorry..." you say as a tear rolls down your cheek.
"Shit." You quickly wipe your face before she can notice.
"I didnt know you'd see me in that way.."
"And you're moving on and I have to act like I'm okay with it when I'm really not, it kills me day by day." Your voice cracks. "Sorry, I'm being so dramatic right now..you can go.." you muttered. You open the door for her.
"Y/n..I-"
"Please leave." She looks at you with sad eyes and walks through the door. You lock the door behind you and sit on the couch and just sob.
Full on sob.
You just ruined everything.
✼ 。゚・
YOUR PHONE BUZZED once again, of course it was Riri, she had been blowing your phone up for a while now, and all you could do was avoid because you didn't know what to say. You eyed your phone sadly as you watched it vibrate.
Riri : y/n let's talk please
Riri : we need to talk.
You blink back tears as you scroll through the endless messages..feeling embarrassed. You suddenly click on the settings button and put your phone on airplane mode. Flipping it over, and looking for something else to focus on.
Airplane mode.

Checkmate (BASED ON CREED III)
Riri Williams x Black Reader
Summary: It's Riri's last fight before her official retirement and she wanted to end by taking the heavyweight champion title from her rival named Nicki Conlan daughter of your cousin Creed's former rival Ricky Conlan. In the midst of this quest, it seems that she is having trouble finding her opponent's weak spot until now.
Warnings: Violence, Mature Language, and blood that's it (I also didn't proof read it's about to be 2:00 in the morning leave me alone)

(8 YEARS BEFORE) CHICAGO 4:37 PM
JAB
UPPERCUT
JAB
HOOK
Riri was getting her ass beat. She would get a few hits in every once in a while but it wasn't enough to win the rounds. The hits she was making weren't enough down Nicki who has been in this game for years. Riri knocked out plenty of people 16 to be exact but this was nothing like those fights. This was extreme and it was only gonna get harder.
BOOM
"A heavy uppercut from Conlan put Williams on her knees!" The Announcer Shouted. Her ear was ringing from such a force and her lungs were heavy as if they were going to crash. "ONE, TWO, THREE" The referee counted snapping her out the dizziness as she got up. "FOUR!" "Im good." "FIVE" "I SAID I"M GOOD DAMN" Riri shook those punches off as she the referee put her back in.
As soon as the bell rung, Conlan came swinging connecting at least seven hits before the bell rung. The last one was so strong that Riri's eye was bleeding. "Choose the wrong fighter brote(bud)" She glanced at you as you shook a bit from being scared. 'I'm good baby' she mouthed as you swallowed the worries in your throat.
"Cuzzo your eye is bleeding. You keep making loose moves like that and we'll be scooping you up piece by piece. Riri rolled her eyes brushing off her injury. "I'm good bro. Ain't nobody scared of a lil contact here and there" Creed sighed at her stubbornness. "Dodge her left hook and wait for her to throw the right one. She's gonna overthrow and when she does I need you to go in there and smash her." Riri nodded at her coach's instructions.
DING! DING! DING!
"Round 1 was a wake up call for the young fighter Riri Williams. But, after a discussion with Creed, She comes in for more." The announcer speaks once again. BOOM "Hard uppercut from Conlan followed by a left hook" Dodge, HOOK. Riri throws a clean left hook to Nicki's face cutting her cheek a bit. BOOM BOOM BOOM! "Riri and Conlan go toe-to-toe both landing clean hits as they push on to each other." "Go RI YOU GOT IT!" You cheer on. "Double hook Riri!"Creed shouts. Riri managed to hit her twice before the bell rang. The fighters push on to each other talking a huge amount of trash. "You bleed just like me nigga!" Riri spat. "That ain't shit lil girl" The coaches pull the fighter bringing them back to their corners. "That's what I like to see cuzzo" Creed gives Riri some water to wash out her blood in a bucket. "Look you're a threat to her. She's gonna be after everything you have and I need you to be ready okay?" Riri nodded sniffling a bit.
DING! DING! DING!
Round 3 had started and Creed wasn't kidding. Nicki came running throwing hits that would definitely cause bruises later. Every single time Riri would dodge or block one shot Nicki would connect 3 three more. "KEEP YO HANDS UP BAE" You yell trying to help but it didn't affect her at all. Jab, left hook, right hook the punches just kep coming until the round ended. "Things aren't looking so good for Williams after that round" The announcer voice rang through the speaker for the thousandth time today.
Round 11
Both of the fighters were tired and Nicki was ahead in points which means Riri wasn't winning but not far away from it either. At this point, both of the fighters had bad injuries. Conlan had bruises all over her body and cuts while Riri had some cuts and a swollen eye not to mention the one that was cut. Riri connected 3 hooks onto Nicki's body making her stumble. Even though Riri was making these great shots, Nicki wasn't going to let it go just like that and that was really bad for Riri.
JAB
UPPERCUT
JAB
Riri was getting hit with all types of combos and she was barely even dodging them. Her body was slowly giving out and that wasn't benefiting her at all. Just when she thought she was making progress, BOOM... "Williams drops to the floor! A clean knockout from Conlan. Tears fall down from your eyes as you feel the wave of emotions overcome you. This couldn't be the end it just couldn't.
2023 CHICAGO 9:45 PM
"Jeez a swift combo from Conlan right out of the gate! Is Conlan looking good or is Williams just looking bad? The announcer entertained the audience as Riri and her rival Nicki Conlan fought. Jab, hook, uppercut. The same three moves, yet every time it was thrown at her she still couldn't dodge it. Riri was getting frustrated and you could see that even from the sidelines.
"If Williams keeps this up her whole career will end with another loss from the same person" 'Jesus Christ do these people ever shut the fuck up' you thought. Once again, Riri was hit with the same three piece that Conlan was delivering. "mm okay same ol' Williams. Ain't nun change" Conlan smirked at the stress she pursued onto Riri. Riri took a jab first only to get blocked. They both started recieving contact until Riri was put in a corner.
Riri managed to land a jab into Nicki's jaw making some room between the two of them but that didn't even seem to faze Nicki at all. Jab, hook, uppercut once again only even harder. Jab, hook, uppercut once more knocking Riri into the ropes. You jumped out of your seat sweating as you bit your nails nervously. The fighters were swinging back and forth though Conlan was causing more damage than Riri did this whole fight. Jab, hook, dodge? Riri escaped the dangerous combo after being hit multiple times. She noticed this very much. So much in fact that she found a weak spot.
DING! DING! DING!
The round was over obviously going to Conlan since she made the most contact in between that amount of time. "The next round is gonna hurt Williams. Get ready" Riri rolled her eyes walking over to her corner and sitting down with her Coach Adonis Creed. "Ri if you don't get yo head in the game. She beating you worse last time!" She looked over to you and winked as a smirk crept onto her face.
"Oh so you smiling? Am I missing something?" Your Coach asked getting worried. "Yeah bro. Checkmate" You could tell what she said even from where you were. She found it. She found the spot. The same spot that Creed found in his boxing era. You body relaxed just a little still remembering that there is a chance something could go wrong.
"Oh checkmate? You wanna be me so bad it's crazy. Go checkmate yo ass a damn knockout. And please don't get whooped" You chuckled at his antics. "I ain't never been scared of no contact" He put her mouthpiece in her mouth and wiped her down to get ready for the next round. "She looked back over to you giving a thumbs up to you. You smiled lightly returning the thumbs up.
DING! DING! DING!
The next round began as the crowd roared. "Since Williams hasn't been winning rounds the only thing that can save her is a knockout" The announcer starts back up with their commentary making you even more nervous. Dodge, jab, jab Riri connected with Conlan's lower body making her wince a bit. "C'mon nigga" Riri taunted.
"C'mon Nicki, finish the job!" Her father yelled from the sidelines. Jab, hook, uppercut again. She had got Riri again but it was becoming more tolerable. After going back and forth so much it finally clicked. The world was going in slow motion for Riri calming her. It was either she strikes now or never. Dodge, Jab, hook. Conlan stumbles a bit from the combo. "Nah don't run" BOOM BOOM BOOM... "Conlan plummets on the floor what a combo." Nicki squirmed on the ground trying to get up but to no avail.
"THREE, FOUR, FIVE!" Once it got to 5 you were up on your seat biting your knuckle a bit harder each time the number went up.
"TEN! RIRI WILLIAMS IS THE NEW CHAMP!"
You yell in joy running in the ring to hug your girl. "Oh my gosh I knew you could do it!" You kissed her passionately pulling away just to get pulled back in. "Mm- okay Ri your sweaty as hell" "Whatever" You both laugh as the interviewers throw questions at both of you.
"So Riri, how does it feel to be the new Heavyweight Champ?"
"Perfect"

Authors Note: I was watching the movie "Madeas Family Reunion" And when I was listening to the story it had me thinking so enjoy
Summary:As you and riri watch a movie you really listen to what a character is saying and it has you thinking.
Part 1:Flashbacks

Us
Just Me and You
Together
Next to each other
YOU and riri were “close friends” but you didn’t see her in a “Best friend way” You saw her like a lover, your other half. You always gave slight hints about how you felt about riri but she just saw it as a best friend type deal. Kids from school would even tell riri that it wasn’t “Best Friend Like” and that you were obviously in love. Yet riri would explain to them “Me and Y/n have a different type of friendship not like yours “. When she would tell you about what your classmates would say you would just nod knowing that you obviously love her.
You guys were watching a madea movie to be exact ‘A Madeas Family Reunion’. You and riri would talk to each other during the film about how you felt about the people their actions and what yall would do. You guys really hated the mom because she was clearly a bitch. You hated Carlos because he was an abuser. But overall you and riri both decided that they all need to go to therapy.
You guys were watching the part in the movie when Lisa, Vanessa, and victoria were talking to the aunts. Aunt myrtle began to talk about memories with her husband. Riri would lay her head on your chest. Oh, how you loved when she would that. Riri held your hand close to her heart.
“We had a love so strong it felt like we were one…that it just seemed like we were one.I would get ready to tell him something and he would open his mouth and say the very thing that I was fixing to tell him”
You began to listen to the words of  Aunt Myrtle, You thought about times if you ever had that moment when you would finish someone's sentence or if they ever finished your sentences.
Flashback: Helping Riri WIth IronHeart Suit
Riri had invited you to the garage because she needed some help with her iron heart suit. You had door dashed some McDonalds to the garage because you started to get hungry, You open the bag of food and you grab your burger and your french fries. You open the burger and begin to take a bite. Riri hears the wrapper of your burger and looks at you. You stop chewing. “I know you didn't get a burger and didn’t . You swallow your burger and take out riris burger and fries. “I got your big mac and fries you can get your soda and apple pie when your done” She begins to smile at you and gives you a hug. “Thanks, Y/n you know i don't play about the food I was gonna steal your burger,” She says ending with a chuckle.
After you guys finish your meal you guys go back to suit. You put on your playlist and begin to relax to the vibe. Sza - I hate u plays and you vibe to the song while mouthing the lyrics “Y/n can you hand me- “ you get the wrench from her toolbox and pass it to her. “Thanks y/n,” she says with a smile.
Flash Back Ends
You begin to open your eyes from ending the flashback and let out a slight sigh. “You good “ you hear riri ask you. “Yeah. Im good” You say softly Riri begins to massage your hand She would do this if you ever felt stressed or if you ever where quite in a social place.
“And Then, There were those memories when I would lay my head on his chest just to listen to his heartbeat. And then one night I realized that his heartbeat matched mine”
You begin to muffle the movie out of your focus and you start to listen to riris heartbeat in yours that's when your and riris heartbeats matched each other. “Aww “ riri says when she listens to aunt myrtle finish her speech.
If only riri really Listened To Her Words she would see that You and Her Were… ONE

Change yo mind
Tumblr media
Contains: angst (towards the end), Riri has a crush and reader is oblivious, canon college, hard to get reader.
part two: (coming up)
Word count: 1.3k
Summary: You’ve been into technology since you were a baby, the older you got the hungrier you were for more knowledge on tech so you enrolled in M.I.T collage. Successfully you got excepted and met someone just like you, unfortunately your focus on work is more important than relationships to you.
A/N: This will have some “bad grammar” if that’s what you call it, I tried to type the way Riri talks to match her accent.
. ೃ࿐ You’re chilling at your desk reading the details about your shared dorm on the email you just got then quickly shut your laptop to finish packing your things.
“I can’t wait to take over your room.” Said your little sister running to jump on your bed “Aye don’t ruin my clean walls with your drawing and keep my floor clean.” You said strictly before giggling at her excitement, she jumped one last time before plopping down to sit at the edge.
“Will you visit us?”
“Of course i’ll visit, i’ll even call when I can too.” You give her a kiss on the forehead. “Hurry up you’re gonna be late!” Your mom yelled from downstairs.
You kicked your suitcases down the stairs, too lazy to walk with them. “That’s all the clothes you got?” Your mom glared at the two suitcases on the floor. “Only for now, I ordered some clothes online and gave away the clothes I don’t want to a thrift store.” You jogged down the steps picking them back up.
“Mkay get in the car i’ll be with you in a minute.” She said rushing up to get your sister.
︵‿︵‿୨♡୧‿︵‿︵
After a long drive you finally reach your destination, “Wooow it’s so big!” Your sister leaning out the window for a better look. “My money for your dorm and books better pay off, and if you don’t like your roommate you call me first.” Your mom was always protective over you when it came to meeting new people.
“Yeah yeah okay thanks,” A man came towards you with a huge luggage cart. Your mom and sister got out to help, once you guys were done they got back in the car. “We’ll miss you!” said your sister, “I’ll miss you guys too goodbye!!” they waved back as you rushed into the campus.
You were looking around for a hall director until someone tapped you on the shoulder. "You new here?" A tall white guy was smirking down at you. You had to hold back a stink face from the sweaty stench he had.
“Uh yeah i’m looking for the director so I can move into my dorm.” You said shifting your body to face him. “I can walk you to the hall director.” You found his tone in voice extremely creepy. “Uhh sure.”
︵‿︵‿୨♡୧‿︵‿︵
He walked you to the director and to your dorm but he wouldn’t leave you alone until you gave him your number, “Listen I like girls bruh you ain’t getting my number.” You said sternly “What? I did all this shit for nothing.” He waved you off and walked away.
Rolling your eyes you entered your dorm and you were met with two beds on either side of the room, one side already decorated. You started removing all of your bags and boxes off the rack. “You don’t got a lotta stuff huh?” A voice came from behind.
You nearly jumped out of your skin whipping your head to where it came from, “oh my gosh I didn’t think anyone was here.” You held a hand to your chest, “You ight, you need help unpacking? It should only take a couple hours since it’s just a few boxes and suitcases” She pointed to the pile you made on the wall. “Yeah, I appreciate it.”
She glared at you, but not in an intimidating way, more of a lustful way. Her eyes gliding up and down your figure. “My names Riri, whatcho name shawty?” She asked opening a box, “Y/n” you said smirking at the pet name.
It’s been 3 hours, you’re finally done unloading your things and decorating your side. “You lucky you moved in at the start of spring break. Got a whole week before you start classes.” She said man spreading on the edge of her bed. “Yep, I timed everything perfectly.”
“So what do I do now? Study?” Riri bursts out into laughter, “No ma just chill, it’s called spring break for a reason. They have residence hall activities and shit but they only talk to me when they want homework off their shoulders.” She shrugs. “What do you mean? You do people’s homework?”
“Yeah I get paid a tun too, I gotta whole site and everything. You ain’t gon snitch though right?”
“Of course not…”
There was a few seconds of awkward silence until you spoke again “Uh i’m gonna go pick up my books, I’ll be back.” You got up and walked towards the door.
“You know where to go? I can give you a lil tour or whateva.”
“Yeah, i’m down.”
︵‿︵‿୨♡୧‿︵‿︵
“God that was the longest walk i’ve ever had, It’s pretty cool student’s get to see the museums for free.” You two were walking into the dining hall because the both of you were hungry.
The two of you sat with your food and Riri started the conversation, “You the only muh fucka here that genuinely talk to me.” she confessed. “Don’t tell anyone I said that though.” You were too busy fucking up your food to respond until she asked “What made you apply for m.i.t?” Riri seemed more interested talking to you than eating, her food slowly getting cold.
“I always had a passion for technology and I wanted to learn more so bam, here I am.” You said taking a sip from your drink, finishing your last bite. “Really? me too, my dad put me onto tech and ever since i’ve been obsessed.” She paused, almost like she was considering something. You were still focused on eating to notice.
“Aye I got a lab- well, a garage I work in, if I take you It gotta be a secret.” Riri was biting the inside of her mouth and rapidly bouncing her leg up and down, you can’t tell if you make her nervous or she really wants you to keep this secret.
You leaned back in your chair lazily turning your head to her, “You’ve only knew me for not even 24 hours and you be making me keep your “secrets”, why?” She cocked her head back, almost like she was offended. “I jus feel something witchu, I don’t normally do shit like this. You something special, I aint never meet someone with so much similarity to me.” She said softly, shrugging her shoulders. Your heart flutters at her compliments but not hard enough to show, your facial expression not changing.
“Listen Riri, I don’t want love. That’s not what I came here for, I just want to learn and bounce okay?” You rejected her affection, Riri had a face of hurt. She looked like her heart has been ripped out of her chest as she stayed silent. “Ima just go, see you later.” You said getting up, “What if I change yo mind?” her voice cracked.
You stopped in your tracks, “What? You can’t, I just told you I came here to expand my knowledge and that’s it.” you rejected her again. “Please mama give me a chance, I swear you won’t regret it please.” She got up not caring at the stares and glances she attracted. “If I say yes will you stop being so loud people are staring.” You said in a hushed but stern tone, she nodded. “Okay then start by walking me back to our dorm.”
Riri smirked as she lead the way.
A/N: I got super lazy at the end yall, hope you like it though 🤭.

Tumblr media
Grief is a funny thing, they said, but in reality, ain’t shit funny about it. What was funny about the way somebody could just cease to exist, to be here one day and gone the next? It was an incomprehensible thing, death. He was here, Riri knew he was. He was breathing, laughing, living. Except he wasn’t. Why wasn’t he? Why was she?
There wasn’t shit funny about the way Riri’s heart stopped, right in her chest, and felt like it wouldn’t start again. Nothing funny about the rain of bullets that cascaded around them and her mother’s painfully haunting cries. Nobody giggled at the funeral, not a single chuckle when her father’s body descended into the ground, in a hollow grave where he didn’t belong.
She couldn’t feel. She couldn’t feel the swarm of tears that pooled down her cheeks, stinging her eyes and pairing grimly with the sobs that pounded her little body. Riri couldn’t feel the icy metal locker when her back slammed against it or when her already shaky legs finally collapsed under her weight. Her miserable frame was so tiny, so helpless as she crumbled to the ground, curled over and heaving.
She didn’t feel. She didn’t feel when the body of another slid to the ground next to her, their warmth entering her space. Riri didn’t feel when they scoot just a little bit closer, brushing her arm, but not touching her.
She could hear them though. She heard their breathing, shaky and shattered. She heard the rasp in their voice, their deep African accent prevalent through their words. The softness, the understanding in the way they spoke swaddled Riri’s heart when they declared: “I’m sorry.”
Riri could barely lift her head, it was far too heavy.
“I was told grief sneaks up on you. It’s a bitch, isn’t it?”
Riri couldn’t speak, her throat was far too scratchy.
“Yours chose a hell of a time to creep up. I don’t think the school hallway is a fit place to feel a pain like the one you are.”
Riri could barely listen, everything was far too muffled.
“We can go to my car if you’d like. The windows are tinted enough to offer some solitude and I have a fat blunt we can pass.”
Riri could feel, just barely. She could feel a thousand tiny needles pierce her esophagus when the tightness in her vocal cords snapped and she spoke. “I don’t even know you.” The air surrounding them was hushed, Riri’s words floating in a whisper.
Their fingers were long and thin, covered in black ink and exquisite art. They stretched even further when she extended her hand to the still girl, awaiting her acceptance. “Shuri Udaku.”
Tumblr media
Silence passed with the blunt in their hands, the smoke clouding the thoughts Riri didn’t dare to think. The vibe was mellow, music echoing in the smoke that wrapped around their heads. Her heart didn’t hurt as much, the tightness that she’d gotten so used to finally dissipating. Dry streaks where her tears once were lined her cheeks and chin, the ash stark and out of place on her mocha-colored face. Riri’s glossed-over eyes were scarlet-hued, vision blurred.
“Where you from, Shuri Udaku?”
Shuri’s slender fingers gestured for the blunt, pulling the wrap to her parted lips. Her deep inhale was skilled, the smoke expanding in her lungs. Riri’s gazed lazily at the foreigner, watching her exhale slowly before she answered, “Wakanda.”
“Wait, Wakanda, Wakanda? Shit, nigga, why the hell you here?”
A deep chuckle reverted through the air, lasting longer than it would have if the girls were in sober minds. Riri felt a goofy smile grow across her face at the sound, both rows of perfect white teeth shining at Shuri through the smoke.
“Y-you really don’t know who I am?”
The gaze Riri had on the Wakandan intensified, her beautiful brain trying to think so hard. Shuri shifted her weight, adjusting her seat until it reclined, pulling Riri’s eyes down with her. She tried and tried to think but the weed in her system didn’t do much to help her already distracted mind. Shuri couldn’t look away when Riri’s curls bounced around her framed face, shaking with her answer. “No, am I supposed to?”
Who knew a smile could be contagious? From Shuri’s own face spread a grin too wide with teeth too white, the gold adornments covering her canines contrasting with the rest of her. “Nah, I guess not.” Her shoulders relaxed into the back of the seat and she reached for the blunt once more.
Their silence was comfortable and lazy and they both fell back into it blissfully. Another question danced on the tip of Riri’s tongue and she sat, analyzing it. It would be unseemly for her to ask, but her clouded mind offered up no restraint. “Who died?”
“What?’
“What you said in the hall, sounded like you was speaking from experience.”
Shuri’s ribs expanded around her lungs. She needed another deep inhale to get the words out. It had been years since his death and she still had trouble saying it, thinking about it, even believing it.
“My father.”
Riri wasn’t sure what she had been expecting, but it wasn’t that. How deep of a confession to spill off the lips of a stranger? To another stranger?
“Mine too… Well, my stepdad, but he was the only dad I ever knew.”
Their eye contact was understanding. They understood each other. For such a long time, Shuri hadn’t come across a single person who fucking got it. Even in her own country, her mother, her own brother didn’t fucking get it. There was no way the ancestors needed her baba more than she did.
“How?” Curiosity was at the forefront of Shuri’s mind and the bluntness of her ask was promptly followed by her body drawing back on itself. She opened her mouth to apologize, but Riri cut her off, unfazed.
She thought the tears would descend like they normally did, but they didn’t. She was stunned the words came out so easily. “They shot him up.”
“They who?”
“Nigga, I grew up in Chicago. ‘They’ could be a 13-year-old walking down the street.”
Shuri’s pretty, brown eyes widened three sizes, but her lips remained sealed. She could count a full ten seconds pass before Riri opened her mouth again. “We was in the park, just chilling, grilling, and unsuspecting. ‘They’ drove by and shots rang out. He dived in front of me and mama and next thing I knew, we were covering his casket in wet dirt.”
‘I’m sorry’ didn’t feel appropriate to repeat, so Shuri didn’t. She allowed another moment of silence to blanket them before speaking her own truth. “They blew mine up.”
“They who?”
“You heard about the building explosion at the Vienna International Center? It happened years ago; I guess you would have been in American high school at the time?”
“Y-yeah,” Riri’s voice was small, her memory muddled. “It was all over the news. Came home and ma dukes was glued to the TV, tears in her eyes. Pop was too, angry. He kept screaming it was an assassination. They killed the king of somewhere, Tuh-something.”
“T’Chaka Udaku,” Shuri said proudly. “King of Wakanda.”
It didn’t take long for cognizance to pass over Riri’s features, high or not. “Oh, shit. Wait, shit! Nigga, you’re a princess?!”
Princess Shuri winced, pained by the sudden change in pitch in the girl’s voice. “You always throw that slur around like it's nothing?”
Her words flowed in one ear and out the other, completely disregarded. “You’re a fucking princess!”
“Yeah, guess I am.”
“Wh-why the hell are you here? What the fuck MIT got to offer you that your royal title don’t?”
“A normal fucking experience for the first time in my life?” Shuri’s voice stayed as level as her high, while Riri’s kept climbing octaves. “Not dwelling in a place where my father doesn’t come home.”
Riri let the plush seats swallow her, sitting back and sinking in. She understood all too well. “Yeah. that’s why I left Chicago.”
Shuri shifted in her seat, her right arm leaning against the armrest that separated the two. Her eyes fixated on the little Chicago native, studying her features and burning Riri underneath her stare. “Then you get it.”
Riri squirmed under the princess’s gaze, intimidation creeping on her slowly. She followed Shuri’s lead, leaning over until their warmth mixed. “I get it, but why college? I’m sure they would have just handed you a degree, why go through with the classes and the homework?”
“What part of ‘normal experience’ don’t you understand?”
Any of it, really. Riri was enduring a normal college experience and it sucked. The coursework, the teachers, the piles and piles of homework that she could never seem to come out on top of. Throw in her dad’s death, and it was too much. It was all really too fucking much.
Shuri could read the poor girl like a book. The beset reaction climbed Riri’s features, starting in her toes and working its way up, entangling her like a vine. The intoxication in her veins wasn’t doing enough to mask those emotions anymore and Shuri deemed it her job to help the ill-fated girl escape those feelings the same way she wished someone had for her.
The blunt was burned thin at this point, no longer the fat thing Shuri had promised, but still too good to be wasted. She relit the dimly burning bud, dragging a long hit before pointing the wrapped piece in Riri’s direction.
Riri’s nod was small, barely noticeable, and her small hand dragged upward to pull the blunt from between Shuri’s fingers, but she was stopped short. Shuri’s hand fell atop Ri’s, covering and cradling it, so small compared to her own. The blunt stayed laced in the princess’s thin fingers when she brought it up to Riri’s lips and tapped them with the unlit end. “Open.”
The surprise on Riri’s stoned face was laughable and Shuri’s stifled giggles prompted the small girl to obey. Her plump lips parted and Shuri slipped the blunt in, watching Riri’s lips close around it. Her chest rose, her lungs expanding, the drag deep, bravura, almost seductive.
She inhaled until her lungs couldn’t hold anymore. Shuri pulled the blunt away and Riri’s lips stayed pursed. “Gonna hold it?” Shuri’s thin brow was poised in a sexy arch, dancing atop her playful eyes.
Riri nodded, head feeling airy when she took on Shuri’s challenge. Her chest burned and her lungs begged, but they went ignored. Shuri leaned closer, slipping into Ri’s personal space with ease. Her eyes frolicked about Riri’s face, excited, pleased. “For how long?” She pushed even further, testing Riri’s limits.
However long Shuri wanted. Riri had never been bested by anybody and she hadn’t planned on starting now. Daddy hadn’t raised no bitch.
The seconds ticked on, Shuri’s eyes bouncing back and forth between her watch and Riri’s gaze. Her cheeks puffed, the air, the smoke in her lungs crying to escape. The princess’s tongue rolled over the inside of her cheek, enticement burning in her own chest.
Seconds turned into a minute and Riri’s breath was still caught in her throat. A minute and thirty seconds rounded out and Shuri brought her hand up between their too-close bodies, tapping at Riri’s chin, then her cheeks. “Alright, alright. You’ve proven yourself. Breathe before you pass out.”
Riri’s exhale was wheezing, her eventual inhale panting. She watched Shuri sit back in her seat, reluctant to do the same, reluctant to escape Shuri’s space. Something about this girl, this princess, this foreigner was fucking alluring.
Her high regained control, of her thoughts, of her actions. She wouldn’t, she decided. She wouldn’t sit back, she wouldn’t escape. Instead, she leaned over the armrest even further, grabbing Shuri’s chin and pulling their gazes together.
Shuri couldn’t control the breath escaping her that stuttered a little bit. Riri’s face was so close, her hands so soft, lips pouted nice and soft. Bast did Shuri try to restart her heart, to regain control, but the weed in her system, the fog in her mind made an already hard task Herculean.
“You into girls, princess?” Riri’s congested mind didn’t conceal a single thought running through her pretty little head. Shuri’s smirk was sly and sultry, daring to tease the girl before her.
“Take a good damn look at me and tell me I look straight.” Riri’s eyes wandered down, fully taking in the young royal. Shuri felt heat everywhere Ri laid her eyes and found herself wanting more. Those little glances, the oh-so-slow glances, were painstaking.
“Not a damn thing straight about that fucking flannel. And the shaved sides? You making studs everywhere look bad, being a walking stereotype like that.” The words rolled off Riri’s tongue, uncensored and true. Shuri knew it was true, the laughter that escaped her lips knew it was true.
“You one to talk, gold chain.”
Riri didn’t back down, she didn’t back away. Her words were smooth when she responded, “It was my dad’s.” And she didn’t cry. Instead, she smiled, the memory of her father placing the gold piece over her head and dangling it ‘round her neck playing in her mind like a movie.
“It looks good on you,” Shuri’s already soft voice dropped lower, her eyes stuck on Riri’s, hypnotized by the coffee-bean-hued orbs that flickered between her lips and her gaze.
“Nigga, can I kiss you?” Riri’s question was gentle, falling into Shuri’s lap with ease.
“Not til you stop calling me that,” Shuri’s words were playful, her eyes just as jubilant. Yes, she wanted to say. Yes, please, you can kiss me.
“Princess,” Riri corrected while Shuri’s eyes rolled. “Can I kiss you?”
Shuri was already leaning in to close the gap between their needy bodies before she answered. “That’s not any better.”
Riri didn’t get a chance to respond. Shuri’s lips pressed into hers, igniting a spark (really a moan) as she leaned in closer, sinking into the delicate feel.
Their lips molded together like a perfect fit. Shuri couldn’t explain away the feeling that overtook her. Science wouldn’t have a solution and Bast forbid she turned to the ancestors for clarity. Instead, she gave in, mind cloudy, no clearness in sight.
Riri thought Shuri’s tongue was just as soft as her hellish mouth. They danced and twirled, tasting and shivering under the nip of Shuri’s grill. Neither of them wanted to be the first to pull away, and Riri had already proven that she wouldn’t need to for at least a minute and a half.
Ninety seconds. A section of Shuri’s brain was counting, the rest of her mind too consumed, too mesmerized by the unfamiliar girl with whom she didn’t want to part.
The air in Riri’s lungs suddenly wasn’t enough, and with Shuri’s tongue, she swallowed her pride and cut off the kiss with abruptness. They panted, eyes glued to the thin string of saliva still connecting their love-swollen lips. “Demethi (Damn),” Shuri’s breathy whispers drifted to Riri’s ears, the Wakandan’s native tongue causing a shiver to run down her spine.
“Run that by me in English?” Riri could barely get the words out, titillated stutters littering her sentence.
Shuri’s smirk made a comeback, the golden grills gleaming at the smaller girl. “You go with me, you gotta learn my language, usana. I’ll teach you, yeah?”
“Who said I go with you?” The way Riri’s brows arched on her face and those dimples appeared on her cheeks made the butterflies in Shuri’s stomach swarm.
“You might not go with me yet, but you will.” Shuri stuck her thumb and index finger in Riri’s dimples. With a gentleness that almost caused Ri to swoon, their faces were brought together again, Shuri’s lips brushing over Riri’s.
“Demethi,” Shuri’s voice was but a whisper, her lips on Ri’s, their mouths together. “Demethi,” she repeated. “It means damn.” Riri fell into Shuri’s touch, into the feel of her. “D-demethi,” she absorbed the words and threw them right back at the princess.
“Good, usana. Usana,” Shuri’s lips dragged across Riri’s, every syllable playing out right on her mouth. “Usana means baby.”
“Usana,” Riri’s voice dropped to a whisper of her own, the intimacy of the moment engulfing her.
“Usana,” Shuri let the word fall from her a third and final time. “You might not go with me yet, but you will,” she parroted.
Riri’s bottom lip was tucked between her teeth, the smile on her face as brilliant as her mind. “We’ll see.”

REWIND: JUJUTSU TECH—2006
“gojo-sensei, i’m home.”
megumi who just got home from school called out for his teacher. his training with nobara and itadori ended a little bit late.
he found gojo sleeping in the couch with a laptop on. he stared at his teacher’s face with dry tears streaked on his cheeks. megumi who became curious because gojo didn’t let his vulnerability out and he’s probably crying because of something he had watched.
there were various tapes scattered around the table and the laptop had the pause button. he quietly placed himself in front of the laptop and pressed the play button.
in the beginning there was darkness, but a girl their age or probably older than them sat in front of the camera.
she looked pretty. megumi thought in awe. although there was a dull look in your eyes and your skin looked like blood had been drained out of you, you looked effortlessly stunning.
“satoru, if you ever watched this tape, i’m already dead.”
megumi slowly blinked at your blunt words. oh.
you let out a humorless laugh. “i’m sorry for my… vulgar words, satoru. i…” you looked down as you played with your fingers on your lap.
“y’know how i have this weird, but strong sense of intuition that always happened when i predict? i have that feeling—the exception is, i can feel it in my soul that i would already die. in this mission. that the higher ups assigned to me.”
the spiky-haired boy observed how you took a deep breath as if you were resisting the urge to burst out.
“i’m sad because i won’t be there to witness you slaughtering them.” you gave the camera a sweet smile.
your smile dropped and you looked away from the camcorder. the grainy effect made you look more… vintage. just a memory from the past. you were once someone’s person and now you were just someone’s memory…
“i’m sorry if i wouldn’t be able to fulfill my promise to you—to never leave you behind. i’m sorry if i wouldn’t be there to wipe your tears when you cry. i’m sorry if i wouldn’t be able to lend my shoulders for you to cry on. i…” your voice cracked and tears started to fall like crystals on your cheeks.
megumi could feel the pain she’s feeling and his lips turned into frown.
“i’m sorry if i was giving up, not bothering to fight for my life because to be honest, satoru, i ask myself at night with the question: who am i doing this for?”
when the teenage boy looked at you, he felt like you were seeing him. like you were sitting in front of him, asking a simple question.
“is it for the civilians so they won’t have to endure anymore? is it for the children so they won’t have to go to war anymore? is it for the future so they would be able to live a peaceful life? or…”
“is it for the selfish elders who send children to fight for the sins they have committed?”
oh.
“why do the children have to pay for their forefathers’ sins?”
a sob broke you out and megumi could only watch in pain as you went hysterical.
it was saddening to see you—a person who clearly the world doesn’t deserve—need to sacrifice your life for the betterment of the world.
that’s how a jujutsu sorcerer works, unfortunately. you clearly don’t belong in this world. in this cruel, awful world.
“whoever manages to find this tape, i hope you will take care of my friends—satoru, suguru, and shoko. i hope you will give them the patience to grieve and to mourn. i hope you will be able to give them the care and support they deserved. i hope you will be able to see them for who they are, and not for what they are. i hope you will be able to see hope during the darkest times. and i hope you will be able to feel grateful even if your life is just a borrowed time.” you tilted your head and delicately smiled.
you let out a last giggle. “this is [last name][name], signing off. goodbye.” you pulled the camera closer to your face and gave a smooch.
the laptop went black and megumi could only blankly stare at the wall.
what a world they live in.
such a life doomed from the start and they could only wait as death came for their friend.
what a… life.
you didn’t know then, your death is the beginning of all tragedies.

mornings with you (18+)
synopsis: you and shuri’s steamy morning after you had spent a passionate night together the day before.
contains: smut, thigh riding, light degradation, praising, cunnilingus, shuri x black reader, filth x
usana- baby, musa ukuyeka- dont stop
here’s a xmas present, enjoy loves x
it was so warm.
your body felt like it was melting into the sheets below. you weren’t even fully awake at this point, but you didn’t have to be because your subconscious could feel everything for you. without opening your eyes, you could tell morning had arrived and you mentally smiled, so excited for what the day will bring. slowly, you joined back with your physical self and could feel the undeniable presence behind you, your beautiful girlfriend shuri. her warm breath tickled the back of your neck as she slept and snored softly, a lazy arm resting over your stomach to hold your nude bodies close together.
the memories of last night came flooding back to you, her arrival back in wakanda, your romantic date she’d planned, her gifts, the passionate lovemaking, her embrace, shit…her hips, god her hips thrusting into you, making you feel every fucking inch of her strap. the thoughts made your inner thighs warm and you began to stir awake. your eyelids felt heavy, but you made the effort to finally open them, in which you immediately closed them again because the bright light streaming into the room nearly blinded you. laughing to yourself, you tried again but slowly this time, giving your eyes time to adjust. you blinked a few times and looked around shuri’s huge, royal looking ass bedroom.
you sighed to yourself.
it was so cosy and nice, you wish to wake up to this everyday but that would mean marrying shuri, which is something you really wanted to do, but to think of wakanda’s reaction to your secret relationship makes your stomach turn; it could be positive or negative, you didn’t really want to know. you shift away slightly to stretch until you feel a sharp tug on your stomach, which was shuri pulling you back into her, “where are you going baby?” she asked sleepily, with her raspy morning as her eyes twitched, but stayed closed nonetheless, semi-sleeping.
god, she sounded so hot.
you bit your lip again and rubbed your thighs together, “nowhere.” you replied, turning around to face a drowsy shuri. you hugged her and shuffled closer into her open arms, stuffing yourself into the crevice of her neck as she hugged you back to take a little whiff of your recently shampooed hair.
“mm, i missed you.” you said, taking in shuri’s musky scent that never failed to make you feel safe all the time. shuri hummed in response and finally opened her eyes to look down at you through her hooded eyelids, licking her lips that twisted into a lazy smile, “i’m right here love.” she hugged you tighter, her soft skin feeling heavenly against yours. you pecked the bottom of her chin, but saw that her neck was open and available so you took your chance to slowly suck on the smooth melanated skin, whilst you settled your hand on her broad shoulders. you could feel her tense up under you, but eventually relax as you aggravated the piece of skin with your ardent sucking. you took your time to slowly kiss up her long neck further, leaving small pecks along her sharp jawline that could practically cut you. she breathed lowly as you intensified your kissing, pushing her back with your hands still against her firm shoulders, so that she was flat on the bed as you straddled her.
you paused your actions to admire her graceful features, the evident glow of her melanin skin being accentuated by the natural light invading the room, her coily hair sprawled out on the silk pillow underneath as her torso remained bare from the night before, as you both didn't bother to put your clothes back on after your quite hot...session. you then looked the dark red mark you left as shuri’s eyes moved down to stare at your plump lips with a longing gaze. smirking, you leaned in to settle your torso on top of shuri’s, so your nipples brushed against hers ever so slightly, and tilted your head to initiate a slow kiss. you felt the both of shuri’s large hands clasp your waist and bring you closer, eventually roaming further down as the kiss deepened. without knowing, you found yourself grinding down onto shuri’s toned body as you ached for more. you moaned lasciviously into her mouth as shuri gave your ass a harsh slap whilst groping it simultaneously under the covers, guiding your movements; you loved how rough she got when turned on. shuri then wrapped her muscular arms around your waist and pulled you up closer so her leg was between yours. you tried to hold yourself steady but the addicting sensation of her slender body moving in sync against yours, gave you the sweet friction you needed and made you weak in the knees, “you started this usana.” she whispered sensually against your lips as you breathed raggedly, eyes closed, mouth slightly agape as you were lost in your own impending pleasure,
“mm honey, i know.” you grinned slyly and grabbed both sides of her neck, slamming your lips back against hers as you ran your free hand through her soft curls and the other caressing shuri’s petite chest, making her hips buck up automatically from the sensitivity of it all. not all mornings were like this, it was mostly shuri waking up really early to do tech projects, working out, or daily prayer, and you oversleeping, but if you woke up to shuri every morning, i’m sure all you’d want to do is fuck her there and then. suddenly, you felt her thigh move back and forth under your already-throbbing core which made you bite your lip hard and run your hand through your black locks, “oh, fuck shuri.” you said, just loud enough for her to hear. your eyes were shut but you could tell she had a silly grin on her face. you could feel yourself getting wetter as you selfishly rubbed yourself up against her thigh, chasing any high that you could get that, "how dirty, you like riding my thigh like that, huh?" shuri muttered in her gravelly voice that really just brought out the slutty side of you. you felt your face flush in shame, but you didn't care, it felt so fucking good and shuri knew it too as she felt a damp spot forming on her naked thigh as you slid against it.
"mmm, yes shuri, mmm yes." you babbled, holding down and gripping the satin sheets next to you, that were completely off the both of you at this point. shuri was getting increasingly aroused seeing you behave and move in such a explicit way in front of her and it was driving her crazy; she would never get enough of your body, literally never. swiftly, she gripped the back of your neck with her left hand and used her right hand to fondle the supple flesh of your boob, rolling the stiff nub skilfully between her fingers as her thigh moved with you against your aching clit, "ah, shit baby yes." you huffed breathlessy, as shuri pulled your neck towards her to to connect your lips once again as your hips moved more fervently once you felt the familiar feeling of your orgasm rolling up.
"you gonna cum for me babygirl?" she asked, the pet name rolling smoothly off her tongue as she watched you become more unhinged under her touch, and your melodic moans become even more high-pitched, "ngh, ah yes shuri, for you, for you." you rambled further, wrapping an arm around shuri's neck as your hand settled on her abs to grind aginst her harder and faster. her eyes were dark with desire as she saw how badly you wanted to release. being the sly mf she is, shuri interrupted your activites and pushed you back onto the bed, so she was ontop of you. in surprise, you stared up at her and whined at the lack of friction she’d caused.
"lemme help you ma." she smirked, and her hands slid down your body, tracing along your pretty stretchmarks and then hovering over your heat. you gulped in anticipation and raised your hips so your pussy met her hands, "patience baby, patience." she said that, but still gave you what you wanted anyways because of the pained expression on your face. she used the pads of her two fingers to feel down your pussy, picking up so much slick on the way.
"look at how wet you are." she raised her hand up and splayed her fingers to show you how your wetness completely coated them, distributing across her long fingers. embarrassed, you quickly looked away, "please shuri.." you begged, not wanting to wait any longer before your pre-orgasm completely went away.
"mm, fine." she put her left arm by the side of your head and used your slick to guide her two fingers inside of your soaked cunt, "ahh.." you sighed slowly as she eased herself inside you, opening you up and getting you loose, "yeah, that's it, take it all." shuri whispered, watching as her fingers completely disappeared inside of you. you held your hands up to your face as you adjusted until you then felt the jolting sensation of her jabbing right against your spot as her two fingers scissored inside of you, curling slightly to perfectly hit it.
"fuck!" you yelped, so loud, the whole palace probbaly heard it. your back arched in response to her incredible fingers and your head whipped to the side, gripping the streets tightly to keep in any lewd moans threatening to escape. however, your attempt was a fail and you ended up crumbling "yes! agh shit baby, right there." shuri's wrist began to ache, but her pace didnt halter and remained fast and sharp, hitting all the right places, your right places. tears pricked at your eyes as it felt too good, and the previous feeling of your orgasm was coming back, spreading out from the depths of your abdomen like bolts of electricity, all the way to your toes. instinctively, your hand shot out to hold shuri’s wrist to get her to go a bit slower, but she wasn’t having it. she picked up your hand with her left free hand and slammed it besides your head, continuing to fuck into you roughly. her palm purposefully slapped your clit after each thrust of her fingers, bringing you closer to the edge of your long awaited release. it was there, you could feel it coming.
"fuck! so good, so good, so so fucking good, yes shuri mm." you rambled as you writhed under her in pleasure, “be a good girl and cum, unload on my fucking fingers like the slut you are.” without warning, your hips stuttered as your mind went totally blank, feeling your climax hit you like a truck and taking hold of all your senses for a second as it satisfyingly washed over you, "mmm, shit..." your chest moved up and down as you breathed heavily. your hips continued to roll as you rode out your high, getting every last bit of it. degradation was the cherry on top for you, and shuri undoubtedly knew this which is why she gently chuckled and kissed your cheek after you came. her fingers slowly pulled out of you and you clenched around nothing, missing how full you were. you took a second to catch your breath, and shuri rubbed your sides, “you were so good for me.”
you couldn’t help but smile at the praise you received, but you weren’t done yet, now, you were going to return the favour,
“shuri.” you called out to her, as she lay back down onto the bed in her original position, “yes?” she replied, pulling the sheets back up as she tucked herself in, leaving you sprawled out on the bed.
“isn’t it your turn?” you found the energy to raise yourself up and look at her as she hid herself under the cover, “hmmph, i don’t think so.” she said, pretending to fall asleep. you grinned and went onto your knees, crawling over to her and ripping the sheets off her body. she winced and groaned, jokingly hiding away from you, “come on, let me make you feel good.” you whined, coming back into the covers next to her. she had her back to you but upon hearing that, she turned around to face you, eyes squinted like always. it was no surprise that shuri was shying away from you, since she liked to give rather than receive but today, you wanted to please her and show her how much she means to you.
“well i guess…” shuri trailed off but you wanted a straight answer, “yes or no?” you battered your eyelashes, getting closer to her to tempt her into saying yes. she stared at you, at your naked body looking so gorgeous under the sheets, “fuck yes.” she said and you hungrily kissed her once again, hands all over her already heated body. she eagerly welcomed it and you soon detached your lips to kiss hungrily down her neck to her chest like earlier, hands on her hips to steady yourself. she bit her lip and let out low grunts as your tongue found her sensitive, dark nipples, swirling them around as you sucked like your life depended on it. shuri was already on edge from earlier and she wasn’t used to this so she just laid back and took it all. you looked up through your eyelashes and saw shuri’s head swung back attractively, her adams apple bobbing as she let out quiet and subtle moans. that was a sign you were doing a good job and so you proceeded to go lower, playing and pinching her small nubs as you worked your way down. the satin duvet was completely over you and you could just see the look on shuri’s face in the opening as her body moved in response to your gentle touches. you were getting bolder and you wanted to see her reaction to your mouth, on her...y’know.
excited by the idea, you carefully parted shuri’s slim thighs and she opened them wider for you as she shifted to a more comfortable position. you shuffled down further until you were face to face with shuri’s pussy. you were under the covers but they were somewhat see through and you could clearly see how wet she was as it glistened, “so this is what you were hiding.” you whispered to yourself, licking your lips as you were eager to taste her. shuri was confused as to why you weren’t doing anything, but that was quickly replaced with her hand roughly gripping a handful of your hair as she felt your warm mouth enclose the entirety of her heat, “shit y/n.” she moaned deeply, moving her hips up to grind herself on your tongue. your own heat had a heartbeat at how fucking hot she sounded and you held her thighs tightly, using your tongue to massage her folds and the tip to gently pat her swollen clit as her hips jerked up.
“fuck.” she breathed out, chest heaving as she relished in the pleasure. her taste was slightly salty but refreshing and you wanted more. you hummed against her pussy as you bobbed your head back and fourth to give her maximum friction. it resonated throughout her body and sped up her nearing release. shuri slightly opened her eyes and looked down at you as you looked back up, hands nestled on her pubic bone with your nose slightly brushing the curls of her pubic hair, as you ate her out like it was your last meal. she realized she was tugging quite harshly on your long hair, so she released her grip and gently stroked your soft curly locks as you continued to be the muncher you were, “mm, its so good, musa ukuyeka.” she praised, as she moved her hips rhythmically to feel your tongue more, head back and mouth agape as she was stuck in her own pure bliss.
her speaking xhosa during sex would never not be hot and you just had to make her cum, right now. you shifted your focus to her clit that was poking just below her hood and you started to suck lightly. you knew it did something because she started to moan louder with uneven breaths. her body was starting to coat with layer of sweat and you could physically see her start to get closer. the way her abs tensed and her thigh muscles flexed as she twitched was such a unholy but sexy sight. you finally disconnected your mouth from her heat to say, “shuri, i want you to cum, all over my tongue.”
shuri chuckled and threw her free arm over her face, “yeah?”
“yes.” you replied sternly and went back to work, impatiently slurping up as much of her as you could, and feeling her grab a bigger chunk of your hair in response,
“shit, i’m close…y/n, i’m so close baby.” shuri uttered like a sacred mantra, as she used her elbows to prop herself in order to brace herself for the earth shattering orgasm she knew was about to experience. she took the duvet off of you and the cold air hit your skin, giving you goosebumps but you continued to roll your tongue into her pussy skillfully to pull shuri closer to the edge that she so deserved.
“fuck, fuck..” her moans of profanities got more strung out and strained as her eyes squeezed themselves shut. you blew cool air onto her clit to kind of soothe the intense treatment it was receiving, but it had the opposite reaction and shuri got louder, her legs shook, and she bit her lip so hard, it nearly bled. the grip on your hair got harder and you could tell her climax has finally reached as a deep grunt emanated from her and her movements got choppy. her body tensed inwards towards you and she held it like that until finally, her release had fully gone it’s course and she lay flat out onto the bed. her warm juices flowed into your mouth and nicely glazed your tongue as you slowly got up, a string of your saliva from shuri’s pussy following; she’d given you what you wanted.
both of her arms crossed across her face as she smiled and let out a hearty laugh, “that was really fucking good y/n.” she praised, holding her arm out as an invite for you to come lay down next to her. you complied, and laid done comfortably, holding her abdomen as your leg wrapped around her waist,
“hehe, we should do that more often.” you suggested, looking up at her lovingly as she shook her head, “bast, i wouldn’t be able to think for the whole day if we did that every morning.” she replied, chuckling at the idea of her zoning out because of you.
“i guess you have a point, we need that big brain of yours to protect wakanda.” you said, tapping on her head, “definitely.” she replied, pulling the pure satin covers back over the both of you whilst you cuddled against each others sticky bodies.
the two of you accidentally slept in after that, not bothering to wash up because you were too tired. however, it wasn’t a free day and the queen had duties which she forgot about, and is why the tribes were so confused when she didn’t show up at the meeting. of course, the general okoye was sent to check on her but when she entered the room, she immediately went back out, telling the others she was still in bed with you. they understood and called off the meeting, but shuri was met with a scolding from okoye later in the evening.
“i know i know, it won’t happen again.” shuri sighed and gave a cheeky smile to okoye, but you gave her a sly look from across the room, and she grinned back, knowing it would most definitely happen again.
damn, merry xmas ig x

-𝐘𝐎𝐔 tiptoed into the house slowly. It was pitch black so you had assumed Shuri went to bed and just gave up. It was about 4am in the morning anyway. Surprisingly, that experience with Riri was..the best you've ever felt in a while.
Even after, she took care of you instead of just putting her pants on and leaving like some people did. You switched the lights on to see Shuri sitting on the couch, manspread with a drink in her hand. You jumped at her. Maybe giving her the key to your apartment wasn't the best idea.
"You scared me! Damn."
"Where were you?" Her grills shone as she spoke. "Iut." You grumbled as you kicked your shoes off. "You think you funny? Is that what it is?" She chuckled lightly as she glanced at your neck, full of hickeys. You ignore her and try to walk past, but she gets up and stands in your way.
She towers over you and looks you in the eye. "I said..where were you?" she says, the smell of her whiskey hitting your nose. You look away and glance at something behind her.
"Look at me when I'm talking to you mama." She licked her lips as she said it. She grabs your chin to make you look up at her. You stare up at her, not saying a word.
"Answer the question."
You bat your lashes, no response present. She lets go of your chin and clenches her jaw. "I guess we're equal now." You shrug your shoulders casually.
"You know it didn't mean anything."
"Yet you saw her...a couple hours ago?"
"Stop dragging it." She scoffs.
"Oh please, fyck you."
"Somebody else clearly did." She mutters. You roll your eyes as you push past her, heading to your bedroom. You put your phone on the bed in the bedroom and head into your en suite bathroom.
ᘛ ᘚ
After showering, you expected Shuri to be gone home, but yet you heard her walking around your house. What is going on? You put on your silk pajamas and a satin scarf to protect your hair.
The first thing you looked for was your phone. You left it on the bed, right? Well it wasn't there. You checked under the bed, under the covers, it still wasn't there.
You sighed and went out to the living to see Shuri, still sitting there- with your phone on the counter.
"Riri Williams huh?"
"Why were you-"
"You'd really stoop that low?"
"Lets get this straight, she treats me better than you ever could." You snap back. She rolls her eyes. "If you say so." She says sarcastically.
"You know what? I dont ever want to see you again. Get out." You raise your voice slightly. Shuri's eyes widen, you never, ever shout.
"What?" She replies. "Get. Out before I loose it on you." You say to her. "Ma...can't we just..." her voice trails off. She gets up from her seat and grabs your waist, rubbing it in circular motions.
"I said GET out- and leave my apartment keys here." You commanded as you push her off of you.
She got up with no problems and left through the door.
"You gone regret this one."
"Shut up and get out of my house."
"She'll be running right back to me." She thought.
But yet you never came back.
2 𝗆𝗈𝗇𝗍𝗁𝗌 𝗅𝖺𝗍𝖾𝗋
It was now almost two months since you had seen Shuri or talked to Shuri. She still tries to reach you but shes blocked on everything. You lay your head on Riri's lap as you both had talked. You and Riri had been together and happy since that night.
Riri secretly took her phone out to get pictures of you. You grinned at her, then realised what she was doing. "Baby, stop!" You giggled as you put your hand at the camera to block the capture.
She laughed along with you as she bent down to give you a kiss on your lips. "I hate you sometimes." You groan.
"Fasho." She said, smirking. "Riri- No-" before you can finish your sentence she picks you up and throws you on her shoulder.
"Let me down!" You whine as you hit her muscular toned back.
She throws you on your bed. "You know you love me. Cmon now."
"-especially when I do this" she kisses your neck softly.
You roll your eyes and grin at her.
"I knew it." She grins back as she showers you with kisses.

[MONDAY AFTERNOON]
Her smooth silk brown skin glistens
under the sunlit illuminated windows
as the water trickles
down her broad shoulders
to her god-crafted muscles,
flexing with every step they take
ever
so
slightly
out the pool.
Their chest heaving,
a slightly tired
yet heavy gaze
as they skim around the room at their peers,
eyes landing on one particular figure
with a similar look in their eye.
Her stoic demeanor is slowly replaced
with a playful smirk as she eyes...
wait…
SHE’S LOOKING AT ME-
SHIT!
Shuri snaps out of her internal monologue, jumping from the huge glass that peered into the school’s aquatic center, and quickly bolts through the double doors that lead to the hallway. When she’s out of sight, she slumps over, catching her breath. “Wow, Ms. Nakia would have either granted me an A+ or sent me to the principal’s office with the type of words I was thinking,” Shuri chuckles to herself.
After a brief pause at her words, her face heats up as she quickly facepalms in shame.
“What the hell am I saying?”
Reluctant, she trudges down the hall in embarrassment, making her way to the place she considered her third home: the science building computer lab (her second home was chemistry lab 2b).
In there resides Peter Parker and Ned Leeds, sitting around a desktop clicking away at some first-person shooter game, with an unwavering MJ Watson sitting a couple of seats away from the boisterous boys, head in a book per the usual. All three teens lined up in typical geeky fashion. Shuri slumps her book bag over a computer table, the sudden noise breaking the immersion of the boys who then looked up from their game, spotting the presence of their purple-clad friend.
“Dude, what have you been doing all this time?” Ned scowls. “We didn’t have any clubs today and we’ve been waiting for you for the past twenty minutes to walk to that new milk tea cafe MJ’s been telling us about.”
Not lifting her head from her book, MJ snarkily remarks, “She’s probably been too busy ogling the crap out of that poor girl over at the aqua center.”
Shuri’s face heats up as she’s quick to defend herself. “Cut it out! Of course I wasn’t!”
MJ smirks, still not looking up from her book. “Sorry, lemme rephrase that better: she’s probably been too busy eye fucking the crap out of that poor girl over at the aqua center.” Blood rushes through Shuri’s cheeks as she sputters incompressible excuses from her mouth, MJ giggling at her discomposure from her book.
“You’re such a mess, Shuri! When are you gonna finally buckle down and rizz her up– or at least go up and talk to the girl instead of borderline stalking her almost every afternoon?” Peter playfully pokes the purple-clad.
Shuri sucks her teeth, swatting him away. “One: the word ‘rizz’ sounds extremely uncanny coming out of your mouth. Please refrain from using that word around me again.”
Collective snorts bounce off the embarrassed white teen whose shit-eating grin twists into a poker face.
“Two: I don’t eye Y/N almost every afternoon.” Shuri pshaws and waves everyone off.
“Oh, my bad!'' Peter dramatically gasps, slapping a hand over his chest. “It’s every morning, lunch break, assembly, dinner break, class transition, and EVERY afternoon.” Collective snickers break out as Shuri backhands Peter, not harshly, but hard enough to derive a strained “ack!” out of him.
“But seriously, Shuri, it’s about time you try and get this girl’s number.” MJ goes on, finally looking up from her book and putting it on the table spine up. “It’s no use for you to keep on hopelessly pining after this girl from afar and not putting in the effort to actually pursue her.” Shuri slumps into a chair and releases an exasperated sigh.
“I do, but what would a versatile and talented girl want with a one-trick pony nerd like me?” MJ visibly cringes at the purple-clad’s words. “Ewww man, this isn’t the 80s! We are NOT living in a Disney Channel sitcom. There’s a lot of people would go for somebody as smart and intelligent as you, you know that.”
“Yeah, maybe to do their homework for them,” Shuri retorts. MJ pauses. “Hmmm, now that claim, I won’t completely disagree with...” “MJ!” Ned dramatically gasps as he lightly slaps MJ on the shoulder.
“Don’t listen to her, Shuri. You are perfectly capable of winning Y/N over just the way you are.”
The purple-clad snickers. “Now THAT was something you could’ve sworn was straight out of a Disney Channel sitcom.”
About 15 minutes later, the eccentric group of teens close up the computer lab and continue down the hallways with milk tea on their minds… except for Shuri. She trails behind the bunch, head hung low, peeping at Y/N’s Instagram.
As her walking gets slower as she’s gaping at her phone, the coil-haired nerd brushes her shoulder against what she thinks is just a wall. She lifts her head to notice the shorter, dark, and gorgeous swimmer— the same one on her phone that she still had in open view.
“Oh! Whassup, Miss Shuri!” Y/N’s eyes light up as he greets the taller.
Shuri’s breath hitches at the lovely emphasis put on her name, blood running cold as she quickly checks her peripheral to make sure the gang wasn’t around to humiliate her more than she already was.
Meanwhile, the teens heard what was going on behind them, but chose to continue on their merry way, intentionally leaving the two alone in the middle of the hallway.
She looks back at the short athlete and returns the greeting with a bashful smile. “What brings you here, Y/N?” The nerd quickly asks in a desperate attempt to carry the conversation, forgetting that people don’t need a reason to just roam the halls, something she mentally facepalms herself for right after.
“Nothin’ much,” Y/N chuckles at Shuri’s nervous efforts. “I’m just coming out of my swim practice. Mr. Namor was runnin’ me dry today.”
The athlete pauses as if she’s recalling something, the corners of her mouth slowly curling into a knowing smirk.
“I saw you peeping me over at the center earlier,” she drawls, “figured you wanted to speak to me about somethin’?” The athlete’s tongue subtly swipes across her bottom lip, as she gazes up at Shuri with a particular look in her eye, irises occasionally shifting down to the open Instagram page still on her phone, waiting for an excuse.
It was enough for the poor nerd to melt into a puddle, knees buckle and collapse, and lay sprawled across the hallway floor right then and there, but luckily for her, she still possessed a pinch of dignity left within her. With fleeting composure, gripping her backpack strap with strain, Shuri gives a weak pshaw.
“Me? I was just passing by! I just really like watching the team…”
You…
“...practice.”
As Shuri desperately attempts to form more words that can potentially save her, her eyes flicker to a *very convenient* bulletin board behind the shorter athlete. There, plastered on the brown surface was a poster: “CALLING FOR NEW MEMBERS! Swim Team Tryouts This Thursday at 5 pm! Swim Your Way To Success!”
Oh, Bast…
“In fact, I’m thinking of trying out for the swim team myself,” the nerd straightens up and states proudly, hoping she masked the way she winced at her words.
Y/N, who was expecting a different answer, gapes at the helpless girl in slight shock. “Oh, for real? That’s crazy! I never pegged you as a swimmer, Shuri.”
The nerd’s mouth forms a goofy grin. “And why is that?” She dramatically slaps a hand on her chest. “Is it because I’m of the darker persuasion?”
This derives a hearty cackle out of the shorter athlete, Shuri’s stomach fluttering from the fact that she made the girl laugh.
“Negro, please,” Y/N catches his breath and straightens up. “It’s because… I mean…” The shorter athlete trails off, eyeing Shuri up and down, the nerd’s cheeks heating up in the act.
“You know what? Nevermind. I can’t blame you for wanting to try. Hell, I’ve been swimming since 4 years old, the feeling’s exhilarating.” Y/N sighs off into the distance, as Shuri internally gushes at the shorter athlete’s passion.
Suddenly she snaps out of her trance and backtracks on the words of the other girl.
“Can’t blame me for wanting to ‘try’? Are you still assuming I can’t swim?”
Y/N waves his hands in defense. “No! I’m just saying–”
“Well I’m GOING to try out, I’m GOING to swim like a pro, and I’m GOING to get on the team!”
After a brief pause at her sudden outburst of competitiveness, Shuri reels it back in with a small “...respectfully,” and a cheeky smile.
Amused at the nerd’s sudden wave of confidence, Y/N clasps their hands together in accord. “Sounds like a plan then! I guess I’ll be seeing you Thursday then.” The shorter athlete readjusts the duffle bag strap on her shoulder and starts to walk closer to Shuri, laying an encouraging, yet, knowing hand on the taller’s shoulder, and leans into her ear.
Shuri could have sworn she was imagining what was rasped next.
“Word of advice: work on that backstroke… I know I will.”
Y/N then pulls away with an innocent grin and brushes past the appalled nerd, continuing on their merry way, but to suddenly turn around to yell one last thing:
“And your phone’s still on!”
Frozen in place, the girl slowly peers down to her cellular (one she made the mistake of changing the display settings to go into sleep mode after 5 minutes) still on Y/N’s Instagram page.
Once the athlete was out of sight, Shuri’s knees buckled as she grips the nearest wall, releasing a sigh of relief, quickly washed over with a wave of anxiousness.
What have I got myself into?

“Y’know a backstroke is a type of swim move, right?”
Riri chuckles at Shuri as she clicks away on her calculator, doing her homework on her bed. The young prodigy lifts her face from it being buried in her pillow and whines.
“But she said it so… sultry like… and her voice was so… raspy… it felt INTENTIONAL!”
“Or maybe your horny ass misconstrued her words and heard ‘backshots’ instead of ‘backstrokes’!” Riri giggled as Shuri proceeded to throw a pillow at the girl.
“Regardless, either word could be used as an innuendo, she did it on purpose,” Shuri retorts.
“Okay, okay, whatever. Sooo, what are you gonna do?”
Shuri flops back on her bed with a sigh. “I will try out for the swim team, like I said I would. I mean, she sounded so intrigued when I mentioned I was interested, and the passion in the way she speaks about it— I should at LEAST try.”
“Aww, I guess that’s fair,” Riri begins to coo. “If you knew how to swim.”
“Huh?”
“Shuri, I have never seen you TOUCH water unless it was for drinking or an experiment, let alone be EMERGED in water outside of taking showers and baths in it. We’ve had campus water activities and pool days before and each time you’ve said ‘I’m busy, I’m busy.’”
“Well I was, you know I have school work as my top priority.”
“We have them during school breaks, Shuri, you don’t work on a school break!”
Riri releases an exasperated sigh. “Shuri, can you swim or not?” The prodigy gives her friend a hesitant look. “I mean, I’m not the worst at it…”
“Shuri, just say you’re shit at swimming.”
“Fucking hate it.” Shuri blurts out. “Haven’t stepped foot into a pool since I was 6.”
“Damn it, Shuri!”
“You wanted me to be honest!”
Riri chuckles in disbelief, shaking her head. “That’s not even it, Shuri! Swim team try-outs are on Thursday, that’s in THREE DAYS! You barely know how to swim, what makes you think you’ll be ready within the next three days?”
“I’ll figure it out, okay?” Shuri stresses, trying to calm herself down. “I mean, you seem to know how to swim. Why don’t you teach me?”
“One: you dug this silly lil’ hole yourself,” Riri wags her finger at the prodigy, “I’m not helping you with shit. The most I’ll do is braid your hair back the night before so it can fit better in the swim cap you’ll have to put on. Two: I couldn’t teach you even if I wanted to because I wouldn’t have time, I’m stacked up on homework for the next few days.”
Shuri groans in her pillow, flopping back down on her bed once again. The young prodigy felt hopeless with no more ideas left… except for one last hope.
“No.”
“C’mon, brother! This is my love life on the line!”
T’Challa chuckles, crossing his arms. “You got yourself into this mess when you knew you couldn’t swim.” He raises is hands in defense. “You have a death wish, I am not helping you.”
“But that’s what Riri said!” Shuri whines.
“Well Riri is a good friend, keep her around. As for me, I have a gym to organize so I am going to continue what I was doing.” T’Challa does just that as he starts to pick up idle weights off the floor.
“I’ll pay you!”
“I have a job, and you’re a broke college student.”
“But with an internship!”
“An unpaid internship.”
“I’ll be your very best friend!”
“I’m your brother, and I already have plenty of friends.”
“Oh, like that old brute that works alongside you?”
“I heard that, you oversized midget!” A snarky coach M’baku scowls from the connected office.
“I’m 5’5!”
“And I’m 6’5, midget!”
Shuri rolls her eyes waves him off. “You work with that oversized man baby,” she sneers to T’Challa.
The older chuckles as he continues to tune out his sister’s persuasions while he tidies around the ring.
“Brother, please!” Shuri drops to her knees dramatically, rubbing her hands together in impatience. “I’m becoming desperate, I REALLY need your help!”
The younger continues to plead as the older man begins to cringe at the pathetic display, checking his peripheral to make sure she wasn’t causing a scene for unwarranted pedestrians that may walk past the gym.
“Okay okay, I will help you! Just stand up, PLEASE! You’re embarrassing me!” T’Challa quickly reassures the girl on the ground.
Shuri’s pleas quickly halt as she jumps to her feet, showering her brother with “thank you”s.
“Ahh, don’t thank me yet,” the older waves the girl off. “And I’m only going to be RE teaching you the basics. Any extra stunts you want to pull for your little girlfriend besides that will be on your accord.”
“Deal,” Shuri clasps her hands together.
“Now will you please leave me be? I have a gym to attend to.”
“Whatever,” Shuri remarks as she starts to head for the exit, “But just know I will be at the gym pool, bright eyed and bushy tailed tomorrow morning!”
The girl slaps the doorway wall and points at her brother, who both chuckles and cringes at her enthusiasm.
Once the bubbly teen was out of sight, M’baku wheels himself to the office doorway in his rolling chair.
“You know she’s going to drown herself.”
A reluctant T’Challa sighs. “Yep.”
To be continued headass…
