Omg- Hi-I'm sorry- I couldn't tell if your requests were open or not-But if they areeee. Can you possibly do a small or short fic for a little sister reader.?? I'm in the mood for angst, and I was hoping the fic could be angst to fluff.
The prompt for this one :
Little reader only being 12 isn't allowed to leave the lair often. And she barely gets to go out or visit April's. Reader finds this completely unfair, and somewhat throw tantrums like pink from Steven universe, to argue that she was just as capable and strong as her brothers. She eventually got into a heated argument with all her brothers. While April and Splinter are off to the side and are like : "this family is crazy" The family is much like the diamonds from steven universe, the brothers always leave reader behind. And they don't notice everytime they do, she just drifts apart from them.
And the ending could be however you'd like.! I'm sorry if you haven't got a lot of details- Or I gave too much details to the point the fic was already made- Sorry if I requested too much 4 you-
my requests are in fact open :) dw you’re doing great. Your description was perfect for me to work with.
Unfairness
Pairings: Rottmnt! boys x fem!sis!reader
TMNT adaption: 2018
Warnings/mentions: Reader is a yokai but it isn’t implied what she is, angst to fluff, violent tantrum, yelling, isolation, reader is 12 years old, bros are being unfair, takes place before the movie’s events, swearing (all 12 years olds do it don’t look at me like that)
For context:
April: 17
Raph: 16
Leo and Donnie: 15
Mikey: 14
Reader: 12
Capeesh? Alright let’s do this
P-S: count yourself lucky because I started working the second I saw your request. Lmao maybe I’m also in an angsty mood and my list of requests are all fluff. (Do not fret the ones waiting, all of them are in progress and will arrive shortly <3) I hope this is what you’re looking for.

You love your brothers with all your might, you really do.
But loving them didn’t stop you from noticing the flaw in your relationship with your beloved siblings. They didn’t trust the world enough to let you face it
…or perhaps they didn’t trust you enough to face the world.
Unlike them, you weren’t found by splinter. You were found later by the young turtles wandering the sewers. You don’t remember your first years in the hidden city nor how you got there that day.
You felt left out, an outcast in a family of outcast. Funny thing, wasn’t it?
You’ve been alive for around twelve years and yet you could count with your fingers the amount of times you’d been allowed outside the safety of the lair. Lets just say, you were the first to be aware of Donnie’s tracking devices. That never stopped you from trying.
The redundant sound of the ´it’s time for you to be alone again’ signal filled your home’s silence, alerting your brothers of an ongoing crime
“Alright fellas it’s time to go take out some bad guys“ Raph declared with a smirk as he grabbed his mighty tonfās. “Can I come?“ you asked.
You knew the answer already but the mere thought that your brothers would see you as an equal one day kept your will to ask.
“Are you crazy? Hear this out little sister“ Leo paused and put his swords down before wrapping his arm around your shoulders “you gotta leave it to the pros, maybe next time.“ He tried to reason.
“Just go“ was all you could reply, you wanted them to leave. Tho they were unfair, they could tell when you were upset. “what’s wrong?“ Mikey questioned worryingly. ”nothing” you spat out while avoiding their gazes. ”your tone implies otherwise dearest sister” Donnie said. ”[nickname], it’s not about you. It’s about the people” Orange tried to explain by using the same old excuse. ”I’m serious, just go. It’s not the first time and it won’t be the last” your tone was harsher.
“[Name] I’m sorry, we can’t talk about this now. I promise we will when we get back. Okay?“ Raph stated apologetically.
”whatever helps you sleep at night” you mumbled in resentment before walking away.
It’s been an hour since your brothers had left to go beat up some nameless villain, your anger never faltered in the meantime.
”anyone home?” You heard April’s voice. You absolutely adored her but you didn’t get to see her that often aside from when she’s the one that comes over. ”I’m here” you called out from your room. ”[Name!] what’s up girl?” The teenager asked you with her usual ecstatic energy. To her pure horror, she was greeted with the shards of your broken mirror in the corner of your room. Scratch that, the whole room was a mess. Papers thrown on the floor, an impaled pillow and a ripped poster. Your tantrums would occur when you’re alone, you’d never allow your brothers to see this side of you.
”what happened here?” The girl asked you before checking you for injury. ”my mistake, I didn’t mean to” you mumbled. April paused and looked at your dejected expression ”hey…[name], what’s wrong?” She sat you down on your bed before joining your side. ”I argued with my brothers earlier” you vaguely replied. ”well that happens sometimes. It’s not all mushy mushy getting along when it comes to siblings. No matter what you all argued about...I hope you know they love you” she reassured while rubbing circles on your back. You remained silent, leaning on her. She didn’t treat you like a child who couldn’t handle anything, she would simply understand and comfort you. If only your brothers could understand that’s the one and only thing you wanted from them.
You two sat in silence before splint’s voice echoed through the lair, demanding April to quickly go in the living room, probably to see her a scene from his tv shows or something.
The thing with your father is, he always assumed you would leave with your brothers. He had no idea you’d lock yourself in your room each time his four sons would depart from the lair.
”April, stop messing around in the kitchen and get over here! Annie is about to confess her undying love for Brenda!” You chuckled to yourself, your father was truly the funniest man you’ve ever seen...even tho there wasn’t a lot of people in your life to compete with him ”I’ll be right back, we’ll clean this up together. Is that okay?” She patiently asked. You simply nodded. April mirrored your gesture before getting up and leaving you alone in your room.
You slowly got up and started cleaning your mess, used to it at this point. It wasn’t long before you heard the voice of your brothers in the distance.
”oh man! Did you guys see how I portal chopped him? Who’s the most flamboyant person to ever wield a portal chopper? Moi” Leo stated, you could picture his signature smirk. The brothers continued talking about tonight’s successful mission until they saw you coming out your room with a trash bag. ”whatcha got there?” Raph questioned with a nervous smile. ”Scoff, are you visually impaired dear brethren? Our youngest maiden is obviously carrying a trash bag to throw out unwanted items” Donnie monotonously declared as he stared at his wrist bracelet. ”thank you for this very thoughtful and meaningful information Donnie” Raph unimpressively replied. ”don’t mention it”
”oh right” you let the bag drop on the floor ”not like I can leave on my own to bring it to a scrapyard” you stated. ”I see we’re still on this subject” Leo replied. ”only stating the truth” you crossed your arms. ”[Nickname] you gotta understand, anything can happen out there. One day you can come with us on missions” Raph tried to reason with you once again while simultaneously putting a hand on your shoulder. This gesture used to comfort you as a child. Now, it makes you feel like an unequal presence in your family
“You guys say that each time“ you mumbled “each time!“ you repeated louder, harshly throwing your oldest brother’s large hand off your shoulder “Can’t you assholes see how unfair this is?! When’s the last time I went out? I’m twelve not a toddler! Can’t any of you have SOME faith in me!“ you yelled melancholically.
”[na-”
“Do you guys think I’m THIS incompetent!? I was trained too! Raph you’ve said countless times my punches are amazing!“ you continued arguing, tears starting to cloud your vision. The snapping turtle recalled your training sessions together, he did say that.
”And you“ you pointed your finger at Mikey “How can you agree with what they do?! Weren’t you so obsessed with proving you could do a solo mission?! What makes you think I wouldn’t want to prove that aswell?“ you angrily called out the ornate box turtle’s hypocrisy. His eyes widened, a despondent look creeping up his face.
”you should’ve left me to die in the sewers if you’re only gonna see me as a liability that doesn’t deserve to see the world!” You continued, hitting Raph’s plastron a few times. ”this isn’t how siblings treat each other! All of you wouldn’t treat April like this, right?!” You finally stopped to catch your breath, heavy from yelling for this long.
The silence was too thick for you to handle. You waited a few seconds to look up and maneuvered your head to glance around the room. Your tears keep coming down, never stopping.
Your four brothers shared the same shocked expression and remained speechless.
“Don’t bother“ you mumbled before walking off back to your room.
“[Name] wait!“ Mikey said, his own tears starting to run down his cheeks.
In the living room’s entryway stood Splinter and April, both horrified.
The seventeen years old girl was in pure shock, she didn’t get it. The boys had told her you were simply reluctant to leave the lair. ”This ain’t it guys, shame on all of you!” She declared before quickly heading to your room. ”Boys! In the living room, right now!” Splinter’s angered voice echoed into the whole lair.
.
.
.
“Why didn’t you tell me?“ April whispered as you kept sobbing, letting years of build up leave your body. “I-I don’t know“ you managed to reply in between hiccups and sobs. Both the girl’s heads moving their heads towards the door as a knock was heard. “Dad?“ you tried to guess.
“No, it’s us“ you heard Leo’s voice. You sighed “come in“
They all awkwardly walked in with faces full of regret. “I don’t bite, sit down“ you gently patted your bedsheets with your hand.
Mikey wasted no time and sat down right next to you.
“[nickname] I’m sorry, I’m so sorry. I was stupid to not realize I was putting you through the one thing I hate the most in this world” Angelo told you, his culpability eating him up from the inside. The teenager hated the role he played in your isolation. The turtle wished he could go back. Your eyes looked at him with sorrow as your brain tried to process the entirety of his apology.
Unbeknownst to you, Donnie stood in your doorway, staring at your eyes. Your words from earlier haunted him.
”you should’ve left me to die in the sewers if you’re only gonna see me as a liability” your voice played back in his mind like a broken record. Donnie tried to imagine life without for a painful second. He didn’t enjoy what he pictured.
The spiny softshell doesn’t know what came over him but he suddenly walked past Leo and Raph and went over to you. Without any words leaving his mouth, he grabbed your hand with his own two and took a heavy breath. ”Dearest sister, don’t ever wish we never found you that day again. You were and will forever remain a blessing for us. We were vacuous to take away your freedom because of OUR insecurities and fears. We...I should’ve thought about you first.” The man of science finally spoke. Donnie felt your hand grip his as he looked at your puffy eyes.
“You’re a smart girl [name], we have no right to shelter you from the outside” Raph declared as his hand reached in to pat your head. ”I’m sorry it took this long for me to tell you that, little sister” he mumbled with sheer remorse.
For the first time, this gesture felt like a sign that you were their equal.
Leo remained silent, sometimes he hurts people with his words and doesn’t realize it. The red-eared slider didn’t want to hurt you any further, not you. He’s thankful everyday that you came into their lives and that’s how he thanks you? The young Hamato felt ashamed of himself. He slowly walked towards you before Donnie pushed himself out of way upon noticing.
Your long lasting eye contact with Leo could rival a starring contest. ”Leo?” You mumbled hesitantly.”[name]”
Next thing you knew, you were thrown into a hug. Your face was one of shock for a few minutes then you melted into the embrace and returned it. Your older brother held you in a tender hold for god knows for how long. You knew Leo enough to know what he was trying to say.
”we can fix this, together” you whispered into Leo’s shoulder. Your brothers were relieved, you were willing to fix the cracks.
”We’ll show you the world, little sister” that was their unspoken promise to you.

I was heading towards an angst ending at first but I ended up with a hopeful ending so...
I ran out of dialogue colour for splinter if you haven’t noticed. C’mon tumblr don’t be shy give me a palette to work with.
Y’know I wasn’t sure how to approach this at first but then I realized that it’s a bit like that episode where Donnie gives his brothers gifts to ”help” them out. Sometimes you hurt the people you love without realizing. That’s when the flow started running :]
