This was my first experience with a big bang and I'm so glad I was able to snag this fic. So much smutty fun and look how many chains I got to draw!

Below the cut, @rindecision answered some questions about their writing process and some of their recommended work!
Why do you write Steddie?
It started when my partner asked me to. I’ve always loved writing, but I never got into fanfics until they asked me to write a specific type of story that led to the creation of The Devil of Hawkins. From there it was a slippery slope!
What’s your favorite trope to READ?
Due to ADHD and the corresponding comprehension issues, I rarely read. Not just fics, but anything really. Although, I do personally enjoy whatever the sneaking around trope is. The characters being intimate in places or situations where they shouldn’t be.
What’s your favorite trope to WRITE?
So far I’ve found that I enjoy FWB to Lovers with Steddie. Most of my fics tend to revolve around that.
What’s your favorite Steddie fic?
I’m currently enjoying ‘I Think I Could Have Been Someone’ by @madaboutmunson
Is there a trope you’re excited to explore in a future work but haven’t yet?
I’m new to fandoms so honestly I don’t really know a lot of tropes by name, but I have a long list of fics I want to write at some point. I have a ‘Through The Ages’ Steddie series in mind that I hope to do at some point.
What is your writing process like?
Harrowing. It’s honestly pretty complex as I’m using writing fanfics as a means to improve as a writer in general so I can be more confident when I get around to my originals. But the short version is: Rough Draft -> Proof Read 1 -> Beta Proof -> Proof Read 2 -> Grammar Edit -> Text-To-Speech Edit -> Final Beta Proof.
Do you have any writing quirks?
Probably, lol. I try to keep my writing concise and leave little up to the imagination. The partner that requested I write fanfics has aphantasia (lack of imagination) and they read everything I write, so I want them to be able to enjoy it just as much as anyone else.
Do you prefer posting when you’ve finished writing or on a schedule?
I’m kind of chaotic on this one. It depends on the fic to be honest. So far, I’ve found I prefer posting ongoing fics without a schedule that I just post a chapter on as soon as I’m done editing it, whenever that happens to be. Other than the ‘You Know Where to Find Me’ series, the only fics I’ve posted on a schedule have been event fics and it’s been a bit more stressful than I expected it to be.
Which fic are you most proud of?
That would have to be my ‘You Know Where to Find Me’ series. Particularly the first one: ‘Valentines ‘85’
How did you get the idea for You Know Where to Find Me — Live Aid?
I needed something powerful between ‘Independence Day’ and ‘First Day of School’ but couldn’t think of anything that would work. @stardust-walker helped me work out the details. That entry genuinely wouldn’t exist without their help.
When writing Nectar, what was something you didn’t expect?
Managing to stay under the 20k word limit. 😅
What inspired Give Me Fuel, Give me Fire?
A Twitter post about mechanic Steve in cut-off shorts.
What was your favorite part to write from From Hell and Back?
That’s a hard one. I don’t think I have a singular part that I liked the most, but I really enjoyed being able to explore the logistics and lore around Eddie being a shapeshifting demon. In and out of Steve’s bedroom.
How do/did you feel writing Give Me Fuel, Give me Fire?
I was surprised by the reception it got, and I can’t wait to get back to writing it as soon as I’m done with the Stranger Things Reverse Big Bang
What was the most difficult part of writing You Know Where to Find Me — Live Aid?
The time limit. I had 2 weeks to write and edit nearly 30k words. It made me hit burnout HARD, but I got it back pretty quickly.
Do you have a favorite scene and/or line from any of your fics?
I think that would have to be the first kiss in The Devil of Hawkins. It was also the first Steddie kiss I ever wrote. 🤍
“You aren’t stopping me, Harrington.” Eddie’s lips barely grazed over Steve’s as he spoke.
“I know,” Steve squeaked.
The feeling of Steve’s lips plucking his like a guitar pick was more than he could handle. He leaned forward, finalizing the kiss. They both let out a small groan. Eddie placed his other hand on the back of Steve’s neck, holding his head carefully, yet firmly. Eddie pulled away for a moment and looked at Steve; there was a look of longing on his face. An expression that Eddie was hoping for. He faintly smiled before pushing Steve’s lips to his own, plunging his tongue between them. He could feel Steve tense below him before relaxing into it.
Do you have any upcoming projects or fics you’d like to share/promote?
‘You Know Where to Find Me’ will be coming to a close in March, but there will be at least 5 more entries to it. I will also be posting my entry for the STRBB in March. I hope after those are done I can jump back into my ongoings.
Outside of these questions, Is there anything YOU would like to add?

Stranger Tales Part 2 - A vote based Stranger Things fanfiction

Part 1
“Alright, fine,” Steve sighed, taking off his hat and walking out from the backroom.
“Good luck, stud,” Robin teased.
Steve gave her a mocking smile as he passed. He rolled his eyes at Billy’s spreading grin as he approached. “What do you want?” he said, staring Billy down.
Billy’s grin cocked to the side as he stood. “Wel-”
“That goes for you too, Munson.” Steve cut off Billy but kept his eyes on him.
Billy’s face fell into a near rage at the disrespect of Steve’s action. Eddie froze and stared wide-eyed at the D&D notes on the table in front of him. Shit, shit, shit.
Billy sneered. “What does-”
“It is Munson, right?” Steve cut him off again.
Billy’s lips twitched and pursed, reminding Steve of Dustin’s turtle.
“Ye-yeah…” Eddie called back tentatively.
“Then get out here.” Steve broke eye contact with Billy and looked at Eddie between the foliage.
Eddie swallowed and closed his eyes, trying to regain composure. You can do this, Munson, he thought to himself as he collected the notes into his bag and swung it over his shoulder.
“The fuck do you want with that freak?” Billy spat, finally getting out a full sentence.
“If he’s a freak, then so are you,” Steve said plainly, turning his attention back to Billy, whose face was clearly telling him to choose his next words wisely. “Both of you.”
Eddie froze mid-step when Steve looked up at him briefly.
“Have been staring at me for some reason and I’d like to know why,” Steve finished.
Eddie managed to properly compose himself and walked up to the pair. The sparks of hatred between the two were borderline visible, making him kind of feel like a third wheel that showed up after the car wreck. Eddie took a breath and started to speak calmly, “I thi-”
“I’m fairly certain the freak wants to bone you,” Billy cut him off and blindly pointed his thumb at Eddie, who was looking at him with shock and offense. Steve’s face contorted into a blend of surprise and horror as he glanced over at Eddie.
Eddie looked back and forth between them. “I do n-”
“Personally,” Billy spoke over Eddie. “I came here to see just how far the king has fallen from his throne.” He stepped closer to Steve, standing to his full height, so he was eye to eye with him, and flicked the uniform’s red tie.
Steve glared daggers at Billy and his smug face, a face he’d hoped he wouldn’t have to see after graduation.
Eddie wanted to oppose Billy’s accusation but didn’t want to interrupt… whatever they had going on. He had a feeling that if he even spoke a word, a bomb would explode between them. He saw this as an opportunity to slip away.

“Fuck! Fuck! Fuck!” Eddie swears while he smokes the last cigarette from his packet.
“Didn’t you promise Murray that you were going to quit? It’s bad for your voice, you know that.” Chrissy tells him when she finds him on the roof smoke chaining.
“This is a fucking emergency and I’m sure that Murray will understand.”
“If you say so.” She replies, looking at him unconvinced, so Eddie puts out the cigarette on the wall behind him.
“Did you come to give me more bad news?”
She shakes her blond ponytail “No, actually I came with a good one.”
“Is Gareth ok? Are we going to play tonight?”
“Well these are two very different questions and I’ll give you two very different answers. First no, Gareth is still at the hospital and they are not going to let him leave his room, he just got his appendix perforated and it’s not a joke.”
Eddie lets himself slip toward the floor dramatically “Fuck. We are screwed.”
“But…” she continues, helping him up “You must go back because Corroded Coffin are going to play tonight!”
Eddie’s eyes widen “You didn’t.”
Chrissy smirks “I did.”
“How the hell did you find a drummer with such a short notice? Is he good? Does he know our songs?”
“He is quite good. We are very lucky because his tour just ended and he seems to know at least some of your songs.”
“Some?”
“He is good Eddie, you will be really pleased with him, I’m sure of it.”
Eddie hugs her so tight that he almost hears the bones in the girl's body cracks “Sorry, sorry. You are a magician Chrissy! I don’t know how you made it but it’s the greatest news ever! I would have been so pissed if we had had to cancel the last date of our concert and rescheduled!”
“I know, that’s why I insisted. The drummer wasn’t really convinced at the beginning, but you know me! I worked my magic and now it’s downstairs to rehearse with Frank and Jeff.
“Without me?” the metalhead asks, offended.
“You are the one crying on the roof, not my fault.” Chrissy replies with a sweet smile.
“The face of an angel and yet you are so cruel! I was mourning! Didn’t you notice?”
“Oh, I noticed, as I noticed all the cigarette buts on the floor.”
“Promise me you will not say to Murray that I smoked.”
“Pinkie promise.” She replies with a smirk, and Eddie feels there is something he is missing, but he is so excited to have a temporary drummer that he doesn’t ask any questions and runs toward the stage.
The new drummer is turned toward the boys but he seems familiar.
“Hey, Ed! Have you seen the new drummer Chrissy got us?”
The boy turns and Eddie’s blood turns into ice “Harrington?”
The chestnut boy winks at him “Hey, Munson. Chrissy told me you needed a drummer.”
Eddie turns toward Chrissy who is laughing behind the papers that she is holding.
“Do you care to explain, Cunningham?”
“Well, Different Twins last tour date was yesterday and they were still in town, so I asked a favor to a friend.”
“Which friend?” Eddie knows that Chrissy has a crush on the blond singer and guitarist of the duo, but she knows that he is not indifferent to the pretty drummer either.
“Is it important? I got you a drummer, isn’t that what you wanted?”
Even if Different Twins play pop music Eddie has seen Harrington play more than once and he is definitely capable of repeating a song just after one listening so Eddie is pretty sure that he will nail it; the problem is Eddie: will he be able to concentrate on the music and not on the drummer?
“I fucking hate you, Cunningham.” he murmurs between his teeth.
“Nah, you love me. Now go and do what you do best!”
Eddie raises an eyebrow “Make a fool out of myself?”
“Play!” she replies, pushing him toward the stage.
“Well, I think that the boys already told you about our songs’ setlist, right?” Eddie asks, getting on stage.
Steve nods “Yeah. We were talking about the last song. I was proposing to play Running Up the Hill.” He says making a bun with his hair and fixing it with a pen.
“Sorry?”
“Running Up The Hill, your version of the song.”
Eddie shakes his head “We usually close with our version of Sweet Dreams.”
“Yeah, I know it, but it sounds like an easy choice. I mean… don’t you want everyone to leave the concert still pumped? It’s your concert, so it’s your choice but…”
“We haven’t played it in so long.” Jeff intervenes, looking at Eddie “I’d like to play it again. What do you say?”
Eddie glares at Jeff, he just put him in a difficult position “That’s not what we decided…”
“Come on! It will be fun!” Frank insists and Eddie sighs.
“Ok, ok, but we have to rehearse it at least a couple of times, ok?”
That’s how Eddie finds himself close to Steve, watching his every movement and finding them impeccable.
“You are good.” Eddie tells him, offering some water.
“Were you worried?” Steve asks amused.
“A bit? Sorry, but it’s our last tour concert and I didn’t want to fuck it up.”
“I get it, I’m the pretty boy who plays pop music, aren’t I?”
Eddie can’t deny that he was thinking these very same words so he simply shrugs whispering “Sorry.”
“It’s fine. I guess you’ll have to offer me a beer.”
“What for?”
“For being rude?” Steve replies sticking his tongue out.
That’s not what Eddie was expecting from him, he was expecting a preppy rich kid who would have reminded him that he comes from a rich family and is a talented multi-instrumentalist, but instead, he simply asked for a beer and stuck his tongue out like a five-year-old.
When they get on stage Steve is wearing a blue tank top that shows all his constellations of moles and Eddie has to try his hardest not to get too fixed on the drummer during the concert, even if his eyes find Steve’s more time than not.
“So, how do you like him?” Jeff asks Eddie when they get backstage after the concert.
“He is good.”
“I’m sure he is good at many things…” he whispers with a wink, but Eddie can’t reply because Steve is waiting for him.
“If I’m not wrong you still owe me a beer, right?”
Eddie turns toward Jeff to ask him if he wants to join them, but somehow both he and Frank have vanished into thin air.
“Well, it seems it’s just me and you, big boy.” Eddie concludes “My place?” he asks and the smile Steve gives him tells him all he needs to know.

One Halloween, years after the fall of Hawkins, Steve and Robin end up summoning Eddie from the depths of Hell. Steve, not knowing the ways of the occult, accidentally frees him and has to deal with a mischievous demon on the loose. Eddie drives Steve insane with various shapeshifting antics, both in and out of the bedroom, while Robin tries to find a way to send him back to hell. But, when faced with the opportunity to return his life to normal, will Steve even want to go through with it?

Steve was not going to leave Eddie to die in the Upside Down, no fucking way. He didn’t know what compelled him to give every last ounce of strength to rescue him but being confined to a hospital room together was about to make him figure it out.

Soulmates are anything but de rigueur in polite society—more like foolish nonsense, fairytale child’s play: embarrassments. Inconvenient, at best.
But the people who have them, and still seek them out; who believe despite the odds, who still commit to finding them and binding their souls to them despite the naysaying and the backlash?
Those people know the truth.
Because Soulmates? Don’t force love. Aren’t bound without choice. Are built instead on pure potential, of proportions never fathomed—and certainly never found—outside those so-called ‘old fashioned’ Bonds.

“Fortunes told, futures unfold.”
The sign at the local ren faire looks tempting. After all, Steve is one year out of high school and has no idea where his life is going. Sometimes he wishes someone could just gaze into the future and figure it out for him.
In the fortune teller’s tent, Steve has a run-in with his past. And if he doesn’t turn on his heel and leave, it has absolutely nothing to do with how pretty Eddie Munson looks in his costume, all gleaming jewelry and dark tendrils of hair spilling out from under a patterned headscarf. He lets Eddie read his palm, because why the hell not? It’s all bogus anyway!
Except, as the summer goes on, Steve finds that Eddie’s cryptic predictions somehow, inexplicably keep coming true. As they keep running into each other, almost as if orchestrated by an invisible force, Steve can’t help but be intrigued with the other boy. He also can’t seem to forget how pretty Eddie’s eyes look in black liner, or the way his fingers feel on his skin, but that is an entirely different problem.

Queenie's Steve Harrington Headcanons
-> Steve let Max keep the bat after season 2. He teaches her how to hold it properly, how to aim it and step into the swing. Once the snow starts to melt, they play softball in Steve's backyard, with Lucas occasionally joining in.
-> Steve teaches Lucas how to fight. Lucas wants to learn how to defend himself after Billy, and he idolized Steve for being strong and brave enough to stand up for them all. Lucas gets on Dustin's case every time he makes a joke that Steve never wins fights.
-> Steve's ok with Mike hating him. He understands because he felt the same misguided pointless anger when he was young, and is ok with being the kid's verbal punching bag. Will's small crush on Steve doesn't help Mike's attitude either, even though Steve knows the kid doesn't get that's why he's angry.
-> Steve is the only teen that El feels comfortable with. The loving edge to his bitching reminds her of Hopper, and he can make her laugh. He teaches her how to do her hair and sneaks her and Max into the mall when he works Saturdays.
-> Steve and Robin are in each other's pockets. With them, there's no such thing as TMI. She had to help him shower and bathe after the Russians, and he answers all of her sex questions without judgement.
-> Steve has vision and memory problems after the Russians. At first, Robin has to guilt him into wearing glasses. But he eventually starts wearing them in front of the kids. They call him a nerd. He takes it as a compliment, since all of his favorite people are nerds too.
-> Steve loved Nancy because she was a safe space for him, not because he loved her for who she was. It took him until after S4 to realize that that's why he started having feelings for her again in S4 after he (truly) got over her in S3.
-> Steve never warms up to Jonathan (sorry stonathan fans! no shade). He's gotten over it enough to save the world and be around the kids. They've both genuinely apologized to each other, but the feeling is mutual. He can't forgive the cheating or the pictures.
-> Steve spent middle school thinking it was normal to want to date Tommy and Carol at the same time because the three traded off and on until high school. Steve finally asked Tommy on an actual date, but Tommy panicked and called him a queer- the first he'd heard the word. They played it off as a joke, but Tommy and Carol started dating immediately after and Steve leaned in to being a player.
-> Steve feels physically uncomfortable around Eddie, whose casual physical affection is something he hasn't been used to from a guy since Tommy. After S4, the two grow closer, and he starts leaning back into Eddie's space. Steve's favorite touches are when they smoke together, and he gets to lay his head in Eddie's lap while he plays with Steve's hair.

Stranger Tales: Part 5

Eddie stared at the dimming sky as he finished his cigarette. He had planned to spend his day working on his campaign for the next school year while people watching, or rather, person watching. The chaotic bustling of the mall helped him focus, but, at least for now, the food court was off the list of possible loitering locations. He sighed and got up, snuffing his cigarette butt under his shoe before walking to his van. As he stretched, he remembered that it was Tuesday. “Shit!” he said, hurrying to his van and speeding back to his trailer. He ran inside, startling Wayne, who was in the kitchen. “Hey, Wayne,” Eddie greeted as he rushed past.
“Forget it was Tuesday again?” Wayne called after him.
“Yep.”
Wayne laughed and shook his head. When Eddie came running back out of his room, slinging his guitar onto his back, Wayne held out a small paper bag.
Eddie froze in front of it and laughed as he took the bag. “Thanks.” He pat Wayne on the shoulder and rushed back to his van. He set his guitar in the passenger seat and sped out of the trailer park. When he was on the main road, he opened the paper bag Wayne gave him and pulled out a sandwich. He drove one-handed as he scarfed the food, realizing he hadn’t eaten all day. He swerved back into his lane when he noticed he was drifting and made his way to Gareth’s. The other three were already in the garage practicing. He grabbed his guitar and hurried over to them.
“Dude, you’re fucking late,” Gareth shouted as he ran up.
“Again,” Jeff stressed.
“Yeah, I know.” Eddie slid the guitar strap over his shoulder and grabbed the amp cord to plug it in.
“Gross, man,” Gareth cringed.
“What?” Eddie looked at him and the others. Jeff and Grant snickering.
“You look like you have cum on your face.”
“What?”
Grant pointed to the corner of his own mouth.
Eddie wiped his thumb over the side grant indicated and realized he had some mayonnaise on him. He laughed and licked it off, making Gareth cringe again. “Sorry, I was eating on the way here.”
“Did you forget it was Tuesday again?” Gareth complained as he walked to his drum set.
“That, and I nearly got into a fight at the goddamn mall.” Eddie situated himself at the microphone and tapped it a couple of times to make sure it was on.
“With who?”
“Fucking Hargrove, man.”
“I thought you avoided that douche?” Gareth gave his drums a couple beats while he waited for Eddie to get situated and test the volumes of his gear.
“I do, but long story short, I opened up my big mouth, and I was certain I would have gotten my ass kicked if there wasn’t a security guard right there.”
“Glad you didn’t. It might look weird if our frontman came on stage with a busted fucking face.”
“I dunno, might’ve been kind of metal.” Eddie slid his pick down the guitar strings. “But you guys ready?”
“We have been for hours,” Jeff laughed.
They jumped straight into practicing and continued until nightfall. Gareth checked his watch to see that it was 10:13 pm. “We gotta get going, guys. We’re on stage in just under an hour.”
The others nodded and loaded everything they needed into Eddie’s van before heading to The Hideout. It was a sports bar, most of the time called The Hideaway, but after 10 pm it turned into The Hideout: an alternative bar with a more eclectic clientele, from rockers to drag queens and everything in between. With Hawkins being a small town, there weren’t many people there on the weekdays. They were lucky to have even ten people watching their show. On weekends, it was a little rowdier with the drag shows and such. Eddie had been trying to get them a weekend slot for at least a year now, but the host of the show, Velvet, kept saying it was the wrong vibe.
“There you boys are,” Velvet called happily as they walked in the back. She was a large, flamboyant black drag queen, and was one of the sweetest people Eddie knew.
“Hey Velvet,” they all replied, carrying the gear in.
“I thought I was going to have to improvise for twenty minutes to fill your slot. You’re on in ten.”
“Yes, mam.” The group hurried to get set up and were on stage by their scheduled time. They had an astonishing crowd of eight people, nine if you count the man passed out in a corner booth. After they’d played their set, the group packed everything back in the van and returned inside to watch the other shows and get some complimentary drinks at the bar. With them being under 21, they weren’t allowed anything with alcohol, no matter how much Eddie bitched about it.
“Eddie, honey.” Velvet walked up and sat on the stool behind him. “I need your help with something.”
“If it involves me putting on a dress, you know the answer,” Eddie said before she could even ask.
“I know you keep saying no, but this weekend is important, and we had one of our girls break her leg. Ironically, after I told her to.” Velvet sighed. “Please, we have a big-name local queen coming in from Indianapolis, and we need all the slots full. It’s just a three to five-minute performance. Out of everyone I know, you would need the least work to look amazing on that stage.”
“Are you saying I look like a girl?”
“No, I’m saying you have long hair and are slender. Those make you a quick fix with less effort to get you up there. I’ll do anything, just name it.”
