MOBILE USERS: Sadly, this probably won't work for you, since highlighting in a mobile browser is different than web. I've tried correcting this, but have yet to find a solution.

How was the bracket made?

This bracket was made based off Tumblr's 2023 year in review ship list, and edited to fit into a workable bracket. Matchups were seeded according to ranking on the list.

What are your stances on voter fraud, campaigning, bribing people with drabbles and/or art, etc?

Enthusiastically in favor, although we do ask that you don't DDOS Tumblr, and ideally don't commit any murders that can be traced back to us.

Why aren't there platonic relationships in this bracket? There were in the AO3 one.

The AO3 data we were working with included all kinds of relationship tags, including platonic ones. The Tumblr year in review top ship list does not.

I have an issue with [x] being included in this poll.

Rating: G Word Count: 230 Warnings: Could be interpreted as referencing death but nothing specific and up to readers interpretation

It had been years since the last one, and all of Steve’s colleagues at the school were amused by how excited he was about the eclipse. He’d made displays, gone class by class with a homemade model of how it all worked and helped the classes create their own.

But when the day came, the benches were lined up outside, and everyone had their special glasses or gadgets to watch and capture the event. Steve was nowhere to be seen.

Because Steve was where he’d been for every Eclipse since 1986.

A piece of land that he managed to snag before they turned the old trailer park into a parking lot. A small oasis of green he’d saved in a sea of tarmac, and all that was on it was a bench and a lamppost that didn’t work.

A lamppost that didn’t work except when there was an eclipse.

As the moon bullied into the Sun’s path, the smile of light left echoed on Steve’s face as the lamppost flickered and fizzed. It never fully lit up, but it didn't need to because the faces of the two reunited men, torn apart by time, are lit up enough.

They embrace, talk and kiss for as long as the moon can hold the sun back. Until the real world starts to fight its way back in, and Eddie fades away again.

“You want me to come with you? Fuck, Billy, that could be a death sentence! Harringtons are not famous for being kind and welcoming.” That’s true, both the Hargroves and the Harringtons got to the top of the social pyramid killing and perpetrating the worst crimes ever, and now they are the most powerful family: wouldn’t be fun if Billy managed to steal the Harringtons' most cherished possession?

The bridge of sighs

“Are you surprised, little human? I don’t really cook, you know? By meal is always ready to be consumed.” The boy’s hand goes instinctively to his neck “That’s right. Warm and sweet just as I like it, but I can’t take too much or you’ll faint, which is annoying, or you’ll die, which is annoying too because I’ll have to find a new blood bag and I hate it.” The boy glares at him “Believe it or not but our agreement is an inconvenience for me as it is for you.

Put me together again

Steve was there, just a few feet from them, and now he is gone. "We have to follow them." Eddie says, trying to escape from Hopper tight grip "We must find out where they are going to take him and…" "Slow down kid. We can't do anything right now. There is another kid we have to protect and I'm too busy to keep everyone safe to save your sorry ass from doing something stupid! So now we will go back home and we will make a plan."

Prince Steve was notoriously hard to impress. He had everything and was bored of it all. Even the women that threw themself at his feet and the men that vied to befriend him.

Over the years, he grew more apathetic, forlorn, and distant. Starting on his 20th birthday, the king ordered the best entertainers in the land to attempt to entertain the prince. If they could get so much as a smile, they'd be rewarded handsomely.

None succeeded. Not the grandest story tellers, exotic dancers, praised musicians, or celebrated fools. The king became desperate enough that on the Prince's 25th birthday, he extended the offer to anyone and everyone.

With the large line-up, the Prince was all but falling asleep when a man about his own age walked into the court. The man was dressed about as well as a peasant could manage. At least he'd seemed to have bathed and brushed his hair.

"Name yourself!" Called the king's advisor.

"You can call me 'The Freak'," the man stated with a chuckle as he bowed deeply. "Everyone else does.”

Prince Steve quirked his brow, but remained uninterested.

"Eddie also works," he continued, beaming brightly at the indifferent prince. Out of his pocket, he pulled three wooden balls and began juggling.

Steve rolled his eyes and sighed.

Eddie laughed. "That not good enough for you?" he laughed and tossed the balls higher in the air. "How about that?" When he got nothing, Eddie simply smiled and tossed them even higher, but straight into the air over him. "Yeah, me neither," he shrugged, letting the balls land on his head one after another, giving no reaction.

The strange routine made Steve furrow his brow and sit upright, already far more of a reaction than the others had garnered.

"Y'see, I think everyone tries too hard to impress you with grandeur." Eddie held his arms out and spun on his heels. "Sometimes," he crooned and hopped up on the long table that held the noble's lavish meal, much to the horror of the nobles themself. He paid no mind to their gasps and jeers as he walked gracefully between the plates and goblets.

Steve leaned forward on his throne. He'd never seen someone willing to get up in the huffy noble's space like that, and that alone almost made him crack a grin. The frown was gone from his face and a light gleamed in his eyes.

"We forget that it's the simplest of things that can bring the most joy," Eddie explained with a shining smile as he knelt on the table in front of the prince, reaching forward to tap him on the nose with a small "Boop.”

Steve smiled and huffed a gentle laugh.
