Rescue and Ruin
Pairing: Anthony Bridgerton x fem!reader
Summary: Anthony rescues something for you... and it will likely lead to your ruin.
Tumblr media
Warnings: None really. Flirting, sexual tension, banter, and the promise of more. A lot of teasing, soaking wet Viscount.
Word Count: 2.7k
Author's Note: Unbetaed. Very belated request fill for @daisfordaysstuff (request:  I’m rewatching season 2 again, and I think I need one on this scene [lake Anthony]). I just had to post an Anthony story today to commemorate the birthday of Jonathan Bailey, the man who plays this titan of a fictional character. This is actually my oldest request fill, lingering in my inbox since Sept 2022. Sorry, my lovely; I hope late is better than never. I just got an idea of how I wanted this to play out. I hope you enjoy <3
Tumblr media
“I’ll get it!”
A chivalrous call comes as you watch in dismay as your favourite bonnet take off in a gust of wind and flies over the lake, landing almost gracefully about twenty feet out into the gently rippling water.
You had just stolen down to the water's edge to get away from the crowds for a few moments of solitude, drawn to the beauty of the water as the sun danced on the little peaks caused by the gusty breeze. It had looked like a shimmering mirage from the terrace.
You are shocked when the one and only Viscount Anthony Bridgerton gives you a brief, polite nod as he passes you, then dives off a little jetty, still fully clothed, making you gasp loudly.
What on earth?!?
This is his garden party. Well, strictly his mother's, but he is Viscount, and this is the Bridgerton family country estate, Aubrey Hall. You are still awestruck to be here, a guest of your maternal aunt you are staying with here in Kent. Why on earth he would dive into his lake to rescue something as trivial as a hat seems mystifying. You are certain he has staff that could assist rather than take it upon himself and quite clearly ruin his outfit.
He re-emerges to the surface from his dive and swims with awe-inspiring speed towards your hat as it skates across the surface, propelling along not unlike some toy boat. When he finally reaches it, he holds it aloft triumphant and twists to swim back one-handed as he keeps it above the water.
You find yourself drawn down to the jetty he jumped off of. To give your thanks, express your surprise, and take back your hat and hope it is salvageable. You twist around to check, but all the other party guests seem oblivious to the incident or his actions, the string quartet playing so loudly closer to the house and the buffet table so laden everyone's eyes and ears are preoccupied.
“Thank you, my lord,” you demure as he pulls up to the jetty and places your bonnet on the wooden slats by your feet. “That was completely unnecessary, but I am, of course, so very grateful,” you curtsy and pick up the bonnet.
Luckily, thanks to his swift actions, it will be fine. Just the brim and lower edge touched the water. You wring out the soaked ribbons as best you can, then wrap them around your neck and tie them in a secure bow. It may be too wet to wear on your head for now, but at least it should dry while tied securely and draped down over your back. You curtsy again as you feel him watching you, unsure what else to do to convey your gratitude.
He laughs, and you see him fighting with the buttons on his jacket, still standing in the lake, the water around waist height. “There is no need to curtsy or to be so formal Miss…?” he squints up at you expectantly.
“Oh, it's Miss y/l/n,” you rush out and, for some reason, curtsy again.
“I mean it; please stop curtsying, especially to a man in such a state as me,” he says drolly, fighting off his jacket and tossing it, sodden and heavy, onto the jetty.
You are blatantly staring as he peels away his waistcoat and fights with his cravat. His thin cotton white shirt has turned entirely transparent in the water; it is barely there. Under it, you can see so much skin, toned and rippling muscle as his jerking movements strip off his clothing. Over his chest is a patch of dark hair clinging to the material you cannot look away from. You have never even so much as seen how a man looks without a shirt on before, and this sight makes your heart pound and your body tingle.
Glancing up from his actions, the corner of his mouth quirks up, and you know he has caught you—openly ogling him. Your cheeks are aflame, and you cut your eyes away.
“You may look, Miss y/l/n,” his pitch has dropped to something low and velvety, and it buzzes right into your core. Hesitantly your eyes dart back to his handsome face; the lip quirk spreads into a devastating, stunning smile. “It is alright; no one has marked us,” he assures, his gaze cutting to your right towards the house, then back to your face. “You shall not have broken any rules of propriety by talking with me. Or staring at me as you are,” he teases, an eyebrow arching appealingly.
“My lord, that is not what….” You begin to protest, knowing it's a lie even as you voice it; your reflex to appear chaste is so crucial to your need to find a match that your aunt and parents are so desperate for you to make.
But your words die out as he places both hands firmly on the dock and propels himself up and out of the water in one swift, athletic move. Your tongue feels too heavy in your mouth as he unfurls upwards from the kneeling position, drawing up to his full height. Water sluices down his body and makes his clothing cling to every single contour of his toned, defined torso. He looms closer; you tilt backwards, entranced by the tracks of droplets over the lines of his handsome face, his burned umber eyes catching the sunlight and boring into you as he crowds closer.
“Do not lie to yourself or to me, Miss y/l/n,” he rumbles, “we both know you were and, indeed, continue to stare”.
His words make your body riot; your stays feel too tight for your lungs to breathe, your skin pricking hot. He’s so close now you can smell the vaguely mossy lake smell on his skin, on what little clothing he has left on; it’s dancing there on the breeze alongside something spicier and amber that you can only assume is his cologne. You want to stutter an apology, to offer your thanks again, to ask him to leave, to ask him to stay, to ask him to touch you—so many jumbled, contradictory thoughts.
“The more pertinent question is, do you like what you see?” he murmurs and leans in, his words ghosting warm on the shell of your ear.
This is the sort of thing your aunt has warned you about. Rakes. Handsome, wealthy, titled men who will tease and take what they can from young, innocent ladies such as yourself. You want to be affronted, tell him to desist, and give him a scathing remark about appropriate behaviour. But once again, you don't. Your body drawn to him, you want to trace your fingers over the swell of his chest muscles, to feel those strong arms grab your waist and haul you against his sodden form.
“No answer is, in some ways, an answer,” he chuckles with a lilt that is both arrogant and devastatingly attractive.
“My lord, we may be seen at any moment…” Your protest is weak and breathy, not moving away as he continues to stand far too close to you, as lake water drips onto your shoes.
Suddenly a clammy hand wraps around your elbow, and you are being pulled towards the nearby cluster of thick trees and bushes that abut the lake. You almost stumble and smack into him face-first as he pulls up short and releases your arm. The air feels cooler here, with dappled shade, verdant and alive with the scent of flowering bushes and leaves. The view of the house and, indeed, the party guests is wholly obscured. No one would ever know you are here.
“Do you have an answer now that we cannot be seen?” he breathes inches from you, towering over you.
“My lord… I,” you cannot find words, hanging your head. You know this is wrong. Very wrong. Your aunt would kill you for being this wanton, for allowing him to do this to you. And yet…. Every fibre of your being wants this. To see what he will do. To see what you will let him do. You suspect it's more than you even understand.
“Say it after me….” he intones, a finger tilting your chin up to look into his fiery gaze.
“I…” he begins.
“I…” you parrot.
“Like…”
“Like,” you repeat, and the grin on his face grows wider.
“What….”
“What,” your breath quickening with each word.
“I…”
“I,” that finger still lingers under your chin, caressing gently.
“See.”
“See,” you exhale shakily.
“There. Now was that so hard…hmmm?” he teases, that finger now joined by his thumb stroking over the point of your chin, the lake water running down his forearm to the point of material bunched under his elbow that now drips down the front of your dress. The dampness seeps through the material and into your heated skin.
The cord of tension in the air is palpable. You don't know what to say or what to do.
“I have another question for you,” he buzzes, and the fingers on your chin slip lower, over your throat, lighting a line of fire as they trail over your delicate skin. Your pulse pounding in your veins. You swallow hard and feel the calloused fingertips trace into your suprasternal notch. “Maybe this one you can answer,” he huffs a sarcastic laugh as your body spirals and you fight to keep your breath even.
“What is it, my lord?” your voice barely a whisper.
“Would you be willing to help me, your gracious host today, get dry?” he practically purrs.
“How…. how on earth could I do that?” you stumble.
He smiles predatory and so handsome you give up and let your chest heave, ragged breathing.
“Under your dress, you wear a chemise, do you not?” he continues, those fingers tracing over the wet bow of your bonnet strings tied over your clavicle.
“Yes, my lord,” you answer shakily.
“Well did you know such items can be an excellent towel in a pinch,” he shrugs one shoulder and lifts an eyebrow as his fingers slip lower over your breastbone until they reach the neckline of your dress, at the swell of your breast.
There is no point in pretending he is not utterly destroying you now. You can’t school anything—the blush darkening over your skin, creeping up from your chest, the tingle in your lips, the hot flush you feel all over. A viscous pulse in your underwear that feels entirely alien and where your decision-making seems to be centred at right this very moment.
“So I suppose my last question, for now, is, are you willing to give it to me?” you gasp at his turn of phrase as those fingers swirl patterns over the neckline of your dress. “Your chemise, of course,” he amends with a wink.
Utter, utter rake.
“H-how can I give you my chemise without removing my dress too?” you wonder aloud.
“Well, that is the challenge, isn't it?” he smirks. “Now I can see two options here. I can do the gentlemanly thing, turn my back and allow you to undress and then you may hand me your chemise once decent again. I will dry myself the best I can and return to the house to change.”
“And the second option?” you cannot resist querying.
“Ahh, that,” he seems to pull even closer, and the fingers slip over the neckline and onto the silk ruching that covers your breasts; even through the material layers, you can feel his fingers lingering over your nipple and the throbbing between your legs turns almost painful. “The second option is that I am not a gentleman. Not in the slightest,” his answer cryptic but dripping with a dark, forbidden promise.
“What does that involve…?” you pant.
You watch, enthralled, as his tongue pokes out of his mouth and licks his bottom lip, and in seeming slow-motion, his mouth begins to form a shape to speak words…
“ANTHONY!!”
The yell is from a few feet away, on the other side of the bushes. Both of you jump apart as if burned.
“ANTHONY?!” the male voice calls again, “ARE YOU AROUND?”
It's obvious the person has no idea you are merely a few feet away, only that they are looking for him.
Stay here, Anthony mouths silently, and you nod, your heart beating wildly at the whiplash of experiences.
With one rueful glance at you, at the interrupted moment, he turns around and fights through the mass of foliage back out to the lawn.
“Oh, there you are!” the voice exclaims. “We wondered what the devil had happened to you!!”
“Colin…” you hear him respond.
“Hell and the devil. Why are you soaked through?? Did you decide to go for a swim fully clothed? Did you find my special tea??” his voice ramping up in incredulity as he likely clocks Anthony's bedraggled appearance.
“I have no idea what you are referring to,” Anthony’s reply seems clipped. “I rescued a small beautiful creature, if you must know,” he obfuscates.
“Ahh, hero antics,” Colin laughs. “Well, you had better go change right away. Mother expects you to make a toast for our esteemed guests in a few minutes.”
You hear Anthony’s frustrated noise of derision and have to stifle your giggle behind the back of your hand between deep breaths, trying to bring yourself back to a state of normality after the rollercoaster of experiences you just had.
“Urghhh, alright,” Anthony sighs, embattled, “I think I dropped my pocket watch back in the bushes. Give me one moment to find it, and I will accompany you back to the house.”
“Side entrance,” Colin responds dryly.
“Indeed,” you hear Anthony call.
You tense as the bushes before you start to rustle as he fights through them to reach you. He stalks up to you, and you gasp audibly.
“Shhh,” he warns quietly, his lips right at your ear, gusting hot, “it looks as if I must sadly depart. Your chemise is safe for today, Miss y/l/n.”
With a boldness you didn’t know yourself capable of, you grab the shirt's sleeves rolled up around his elbows.
“I would never want not to be helpful to you, my lord,” you whisper tremulant, fingers twisting in the soaked fabric. “If removing my chemise can ever be of assistance to you in future, please be sure to let me know.”
You cannot believe you allow yourself to say something so scandalous.
He pulls back slightly, and it's his turn to exhale unsteadily, his pupils dilated; his expression wild. You can see a vein hammering in his throat.
“Oh goddd,” he moans, closing his eyes as if pained.
“What?” concern suddenly flooding your tone.
His eyes reopen, and they pin you with their intensity.
“Mark my words,” his tone is low, gravelly, “if you continue to talk so brazenly, it will only encourage me.”
It is the sexiest warning bell you have ever heard.
“And if you continue to tease and defy me, I will pursue you. Relentlessly,” he growls, and once again, your body is rioting.
“Good god. How long does it take to find a pocket watch, man?” Colin calls impatiently, once again breaking the moment between you as it threatens to bubble over.
“I've found it!” Anthony twists to call over his shoulder. “I’ll be there presently!”
“Hurry up!” Colin grouses.
Anthony turns back, and his breath is hot over your cheek. He seems to stare at your lips for an inordinate amount of time as you stare back. Transfixed.
“Today, I shall be a gentleman,” he states reluctantly and draws away slightly. “However…” and your heart spikes in victory, “once that clock strikes midnight. I make no promises. And I shall be standing right here,” his tone decisive, his finger pointing to the spot right by his feet. “Just so you and your chemise will know where to find me,” he rumbles, then gives you a polite bow and is gone.
You have to grab onto a tree to stop yourself from swooning. Already knowing you will be stealing away from your room as the clock strikes midnight. Uncaring of consequences.
You want him to ruin you.

okay so just like everyone else who's got a netflix account lately, i've watched the new season of bridgerton and like many people who's watch the first part of the 3rd season, i've seen the very queer vibe between cressida cowper and eloise bridgerton.
so, i know that many people want the bridgerton series to have a main queer relationship (as do i) but don't believe that it will happen. however, when i was rewatching the second season while waiting for the second part, i came across something that i feel no one has noticed and isn't talked about at all ! i talked about it with a friend and she told me to post about it because she's never heard of it either. so here am i, posting for the first time on tumblr because were else do crazy theories start ?
beware of spoilers about eloise's book and the identity of her love interest !
okay so we have to go back to season 2, more precisely, episode 4. if you remember well in this episode colin goes to visit marina who now is married to sir philp, eloise's love interest in the novels. so during this scene we see colin talking to marina when her husband, philip, arrives. marina introduces colin to philip and colin then says that he is grateful that his wife lets him talk on and on about his recent adventures in greece. what is interesting in this scene is philp's response :
philip : you where in greece ?
colin : mm-hmm
philip : did you visit the olive orchads in lesvos ?
lesvos.... as in the island lesbos, the island known for the greek poetess sappho who is known for her work about her attraction towards other women. the sappho whose name was later used to describe women who love women (sappho/sapphic) as well as the island where she lived on (lesbos/lesbian) ?
i mean i know it might sounds crazy but they could have chosen ANYWHERE else in greece, but decided that philip, again eloise's love interest, asks colin if he's been to the island of lesbos. i mean to me it looks like an hint from the writters that sir philip might have been replaced with a sapphic love story.
and if you add to that the fact that the rumored contract which stipulates that all the end game love interests have to stay the same has been revealed to be false by the author of the books herself. the possibility for eloise to have another love interest is very real.
and if you combine all that with the way eloise and cressida's friendship is displayed with the use of courting vocabulary like in the calling hour scene... it doesn't sound that crazy !
i know it may look far stretched but if you think about all the easter eggs and foreshadows that's already been put in this show... that theory doesn't seem so deluded !

Lady Tilley Arnold theory
spoilers alert I guess
Tumblr media
The main point of my theory is: Lady Tilley Arnold was her own "deceased" husband.
I know I know, but listen to me, the Bridgerton's makers do everything on purpose, every little detail of the clothes, environment, decor etc. And I have a bunch of prooves for my theory.
I don't know if that's a trans situation or just her wanting to be in that particular social role, but let's go.
1. Ok, the thing I noticed the first. Her cleavage zone looks unsual for the show. Her dresses look a little bit different than everyone's else. Less showing. And even when the cleavage aloows to show some boobs, that part of the dress often seems to be a little bit empty (which contrasts with the usual Bridgerton "push-up the boobies as much as possible" style a lot). Like the dress looks like a right shape, but her chest looks flat.
Tumblr media
2. Her room. It's dark colors. Green, brown. Do you know which rooms have the same color scheme in this show? Men's rooms. Anthony's cabinet, Colin's cabinet, Colin's bedroom, Lord Fetherington's cabinet and bedroom. Only the red curtains look a little bit too bright/a little bit off, like if someone added them without redecorating the whole room to just slightly change the mood.
Tumblr media
3. "I was married. He died." she said. Not "My husband died" or "I'm a widow", but this interesting wording. Sounds a little bit odd and smooth to tell the truth not telling the truth. Like old me died, new me is here right now.
Tumblr media
4. When Benedict meets her for the 2nd time, she's looking at the statue. Again, most things on this show are intentional and meaningful. And that scene took to long to be just random. She's looking at the statue, that looks like a Venus statue. And Venus is who? Feminity, all the woman things. If she was ment to be "not so feminine lady" that won't be a first thing to choose for her to stare at, u know. Then why is she looking at it? Because she's glad to be who she always felt she is. Just a suggetion. Or maybe it's connected to the Androgyny of Venus in some statues? Idk, I'm not a Greek mythology pro, but that seemed to be an interesting scene to me
Tumblr media
5. "Well, then you have misjudged me. I am all for brute strength. In fact, I much prefer it to aimless talking" she says. Which is interesting too. And right after that their dance happens. And it feels to me that there happens a conversation without words between them. While they're dancing, at some point she takes the male role and leads the dance. Benedict looks condused at first, but accepts it and they dance like this. (all the females are to the right, all the males are to the left, except for them) Was it "an action" instead of "the words" to discuss something?
Tumblr media
6. The music while they're dancing. I've seen some complains of the showrunners reusing the music from the season 2. People say like that was the family moment etc. etc. But I rewatched that scene from the 2nd season (during the Bridgerton+Shama ball when no one came and they danced with each other) and it was not about the family. It was about the harmony, the harmony with yourself and being whoever you feels right to be without looking at what is and what is not appropriate for the sosciety. Which suits Lady Tilley and Benedict's dance if my theory is correct pretty nicely.
Tumblr media
7. During their making out scene in her bed, her chest is covered with the cloth. Bridgerton show is usually not too shy to show nudity and if they need to not show female body, they prefer to use pretty underwear, but not such trick as cloth. Interesting, that in a promo for the 2nd part of season 3 she's in the bed wearing the drak robe. Which is again not too Bridgerton-y or feminine.
Tumblr media
8. While in her bed, Benedict is on the righ side of the bed and she is on the left one. I was rewatching the older season and noticed that every time they show the spouses' bed there's the husband who's on the left side of the bed (Violet Bridgerton, Mondrich, Bassets, Kate+Anthony). Why? Because that's originally her part of the bed since you know... my theory.
Tumblr media
9. "You're MY solicitor" she says to a solicitor when Benedict visits her. Usually solicitor works with male only. In the Queen Charlotte spin-off show Lady Danbury even says that solicitor would probably refuse to talk to her, so she decided not to sign her name saying "Better he think I'm an impolite man". And you know what? At the same time there's a person who looks at the inheritance documents and search for the frauds. What if he has questions to her "husbans"'s will papers and now her solicitor has to provide her some better papers to convince the inspector. "I shall retern with things in order" he replies. She also asks Benedict if he came to "overcharge her as well", so she either has a lack of money or she has to pay her solicitor an overcharged sum. What if it's the silence fee?
Tumblr media
10. Well, and their first interaction with Benedict was "My apologies, I thought you were a... - A man?". And that's her first line ever in the show is. You may say "C'mon, teal, she's just a lady with male interests", BUT! the only scene that points at it is this one. She's pretty feminine all the other times and everyone of the ton talks to her like she's a lady. No shade. No judjment (like when they speak about Eloise during previous seasons or Anthony joking on Kate being able to shoot). If that was the point there would be more than one moment/line pointing at that.
Tumblr media
I hope you enjoyed my little theory. Anyway, the 2nd part of the season is just in a week from now and we'll find out if I'm right or wrong UwU
Thank you for your attention~

season 3 part one thoughts:
ok ok i did finish B S3 pt. I and it's GOOD and i was really happy with it but now that my pulse has gone back to normal i'm realizing i have a lot of nitpicks/concerns with the storytelling but ngl the carriage scene was fucking BONKERS and my mind will be in the gutter for the rest of the weekend
MAJOR SPOILERS BELOW!!! bc i have a ton of thoughts on season 3 so far and have to get them out:
THOUGHTS:::::
-i could not stop smiling. my face hurts still.
-i don't get people whining about colin and the threesome. when the brothel threesome scene was leaked people were losing their goddamn minds about colin not being a virgin on reddit. y'all. he spent a LONG time traveling solo around europe--did you really expect him not to experiment the entire time? the fixation on this was kinda weird i gotta say. also i really liked that in the second brothel instance it served as growth to show colin was realizing it wasn't those women he wanted to have sex with, but penelope.
it seems every bridgerton lad needs a whoring about subplot in their respective season and colin was obviously going to get one if his elder brothers did, so i wasn't surprised at all. i thought the scenes were hot, personally. overconfident and super flirty col galavanting everywhere suddenly being reduced to a pining, thirsty af insecure boy was so gratifying to watch and those scenes had a hand in showing us that.
-i hate portia's costumes this season. hate. hate. hate. she looks like she was ripped right out of DIsney's Descendants set from the costume rejects pile. woof. she was stunning in s1 but s2 were her best looks and now she looks awful. why???
-i think the mondriches are ok and i like them but their story did not need expanding here. i'm happy for them but that storyline was boring and time taken away from more important characters. i know this sounds harsh but this season was already packed with storylines. across these four episodes there was a severe lack of Lady Danbury. one of my favorite aspects of Romancing Mr. Bridgerton was her friendship/mentorship with Penelope. that instantly made her one of my favorite characters. why not keep that in the show??? i'm so disappointed but with part 2 yet unreleased maybe it will still come?
-speaking of lady danbury, something about the way her brother is presented and how she treats him makes me worry for Violet, that he might disappoint her later. idk it's just a vibe i get.
-Luke's acting is fucking incredible. all the microexpressions and the lingering stares and subtle movements. nicola is a great actor in her own right but fucking hell, every time Luke teared up on screen I was mirroring him.
the carriage scene, when he's on his knees in front of Pen and she cups the side of his head and his eyes do THAT thing and the look he gives her? i rewatched that two second bit on repeat for a minute. amazing. (that's exactly the kind of devotion i picture when I wrote dark Dramione in TEOAL towards the end)
-we get it, benedict is a slut. he fucks. i'm over it. i'm not interested in who he's fucking. i know the consensus is Lady Tilley will somehow tie in to Sophie but i just do not care about Benedict rn. he is pulling focus.
-hyacinth's actress is so stunning! all the actors are obvs but every time i look at her i see Brooke Shields. anyone else?
-i had higher hopes for Lord Debling. genuinely kind of disappointed. he's boring and feels fickle. also the abruptness of him going 'i need a wife to tend to my estate so i can go travel for 3 years so be warned that i can't love you' to 'you have feelings for another man? i'm done-zo.' like what. you just said you can't love her and will never be at home with her but it's a fucking problem that she likes someone else? even though she's is clearly willing to get over it by marrying you??? bro. bro.
-hate what they did with Colin's hair for most of his scenes. why flatten it all out and take out the adorable curls he had in the first episode????????????????? episode one hairstyle was god-tier. everything after that makes him look like he's wearing a bad and stiff wig. still hot tho. also on the hair note: please stop giving eloise bangs. please.
-people on reddit were near to rioting when they learned Kanthony was only in the first ep due to leaks. i was bummed but ultimately don't mind it. did we deserve to see more of them thanks to how badly s2 was handled?? absolutely. but if it's only sex scenes bc they're now trying for babies then i'm good for now. also glad that edwina and mary don't come back bc ngl they pissed me tf off in s2 thanks to how badly they were written. plus like i said, this season has FAR too many subplots to keep them in. the writers really should have trimmed things down. violet meeting Lady D's brother was also not necessary imo.
-i went from loathing cressida to actively sympathizing and rooting for her to snatch up debling in the latter half. well done, writers.
-all the featherington scenes were gold. pru and phillipa are incredible when in scenes together and i'm so glad we got more of that. albion finch is a treasure, too. i really think they should have spent more time on penelope and her mother's relationship bc it's a big part of the book with how portia assigned pen to be her caretaker for when she got old and that being pen's burden/reason to want to bug out and marry rather than stay with her abusive mother, not her sisters' heirs taking charge of the house. they leaned too much into the comedy with the featheringtons and forgot to remind us why penelope is so miserable at home too--the problem stems from her mother, too, not only her sisters. we got two tiny clips of that and that was it. not enough to really establish that. the featheringtons are funny yes but they are not good people (sans Pen). Portia is neglectful and rude and dismissive toward Pen and there is not enough of that so far.
-i haven't read fran's book yet so had no idea what to expect and thought i'd be bored. she is adorable and i'm rooting for her. i like john better than the other guy. but i'm not that invested in her plot. i have no true emotional attachment to her. she needed her own season or to be pushed back to s4.
-still don't like eloise but i'm warming to her. a third season straight of her being condescending to almost everyone outside of her family/friends does nothing to endear her to me. she still blames Whistledown for "ruining" her when she ruined herself by ignoring everyone's warnings and running around town doing socially unacceptable things. she still has a right to be upset with Whistledown/Pen but she needs to take accountability for her own shit. but her understanding and patience with cressida was really surprising and i liked that a lot so far. i can see why people are shipping them now!
-HOW HAVE PENELOPE AND COLIN NOT EVEN DANCED ONCE YET WHAT THE FUCK jk i'm sure we'll obvs get that in part 2 but i'm so accustomed to them having a dance in one of the first few episodes that this truly threw me.
-colin's wet dream. loved it. ngl i was fully expecting a masturbation scene in his bed and not only bc i wrote one into my fic lmao
-i fucking called it from the start that the first kiss would be in the featherington garden based off that screengrab. everything about it screamed romeo+juliet. that was my favorite scene so far it was so beautifully shot and the way he goes for the lightest kiss at first and then hesitates and then GOES BACK FOR MORE???? when he realizes he's super into it???? i collapsed. i fucking squee'd like it was 2003.
-i've been complaining on reddit that the makeup in the promos was fucking awful and way too heavy. it comes across much lighter in the final product/show and i'm so relieved because i was truly worried about that. nicola is a stunning stunning woman and i can't help but admire her every time she is on screen and the awful makeup they put on her for those promos were overtaking her face.
-two major changes i truly appreciate (bc i'm normally very critical about shondaland's writing)
1: the journal scene. i loved that colin had pen hide in his study. i really wanted them to get caught there. i love that the journal fight wasn't as huge as it was in the book because the book made it go on for too long and colin was unreasonably mad about it. i'm so glad it was a minor thing here and that they still showed that colin was really pleased when pen praised his writing and he said he'd consider letting her read more and left it at that.
2: the carriage proposal. my biggest issue with the book bc colin was borderline abusive when he pulled her out of the carriage and made her fall. hated that so i'm glad here he was pleased and still mischievous and held out his hand for her and proposed and wasn't rude and impatient like he was in the book. also the carriage scene was hot as hell and i did not fucking expect colin to fucking finger her right then and there with the goddamned WINDOWS OPEN. tbh i was expecting boob action like in the book but that was a surprising change.
-pacing. too many storylines makes for a too-quickly paced episode. i feel like we were catapulted into everything and my head was spinning. this is a show that, because it insists on such a large fucking cast, would immensely benefit from a 12 or even 20 episode run rather than eight. but we know netflix is a cheap bitch so that will never happen and shows this dense suffer for it.
-music. i do not care about covers. i just don't. it makes no difference to me who is added to the soundtrack or the easter egg hunt of finding which song was used in which scene. the original scores made for the show are beautiful on their own and don't distract like the covers do and that's all i'll say.
-already seeing reviews online from people complaining polin have no chemistry??? idk what show they're watching but it ain't this one. this has been a slow slow buildup and if you can't feel their chemistry then idk what to tell you bc it is there. (and this is gonna be a hot take and unpopular opinion but personally out of all the main couples so far i found daphne and simon's chemistry to feel really forced and kind of cringey so take my opinion as you will but pen and colin have LEAGUES more chemistry as friends to lovers here)
BUT: one could also blame this on the awful pacing of these first four episodes so far. it really would have been nice to have more filler time of col and pen doing the flirting lessons since that was cut too short too soon.
phew--.
i will most definitely have more to say later on but these are my immediate thoughts and i had to get them all down . if you got this far down then bless you and thanks for listening and lmk your thoughts! i'm dying to talk about this.

Bridgerton - A Dissertation
Chemistry is subjective and that's why I love Bridgerton. If one couple isn't your bag, then there are others to choose from.
Personally, I've enjoyed all the seasons. I just love to see love unfold.
Season 1 was such a new animal. It was the novelty of it all. Nothing had been done like this before. You either had the adulterous, explicit, and/or violent sex scenes of Outlander or Game of Thrones or you had chaste Austen (which j'adore but still). There is no other show (even though there have been attempts) that combines the sweet romantic side of love with sexy times. And on top of that you have the costumes and the humor and the diversity.
Simon and Daphne's love story for me was so beautiful watching it simply because it was like they'd turned the historical romances I love reading so much into a tv show.
Season 2 I was so pumped for. The first 4 episodes were delicious. The looks, the stares, the verbal sparring, the passionate declarations, and almost kisses. Be still my heart. The wedding episode was a giant buzzkill. It ground all that momentum to a halt. Edwina deciding not to marry Anthony should've been a 5 minute scene max. That episode took up time when we could've seen them make progress on their relationship. After that, the plot did bounce back. Then, we got their love scene in the garden. I think the most apt description I've seen of that is that it was like a hot music video. It was fine and all, but I was wanting more. It wasn't rewatchable like the Simon and Daphne scenes.
Then Queen Charlotte came along and wowzers did I love that show on so many levels. It was gorgeously done, funny, sweet, heartbreaking, and sexy. George and Charlotte were a good couple but knowing their ending wasn't so happy definitely put an asterisk next to it.
Season 3 came along and at first I was a little indifferent about it for multiple reasons.
1) I hadn't been fully sold on Luke and Nicola's chemistry. It seemed too friend-like (which I know is the point but still). On top of that, there's their real life age gap. Luke N. is super attractive but I was envisioning someone older and more mature (because I know the books have Pen and Colin as older).
2) Friends to lovers isn't a favorite trope of mine.
3) I really wanted Eloise or Benedict's season to be next.
But oh my word, guys, I am really digging this season. Probably more so than even Queen Charlotte.
Things I Love:
Colin being the pursuer and driver of the relationship instead of Daphne in season 1 or Daphne/Edwina/circumstances in season 2. It's delicious to see Colin chasing Penelope. And yeah, she did ask him to kiss her but home skillet didn't ask him to show up at her house for a late night rendezvous. That was all him.
A less angry/bitter male lead. Colin likely has daddy issues too, but he is just more emotionally in-tune (when he allows himself to be) and doesn't take it out on others. He's sweet and lovable and a perfect cinnamon roll when he's not posing.
The Sexy times are back! That carriage scene was 10/10 - no notes. And it was sexy because of the feelings component. And we're getting more! I'm gonna pass out!
Even though I wish they'd hurry a bit and get them back to being friends, I do enjoy seeing the Eloise and Penelope friendship aftermath. I love seeing how much they care about each other despite being angry/hurt by one another.
That height difference, tho!
I feel like we can all take enjoyment from different couples and different seasons. We're all different and different tropes resonate with us. There is something to be enjoyed by all with Bridgerton.

🚨BRIDGERTON SEASON 3 SPOILER BELOW 🚨
Season 3 so far is equal parts disappointing and satisfying. I disliked that there were so many subplots in the first part. I don't care about the Mondrich family, and as much as I love Benedict, I don't care much for him this season because his character has absolutely nothing to do besides sleep with Lily Arnold. Is it just me, or is Benedict always having sex with different characters?
I loved that Eloise still cared deeply about Penelope despite still being hurt by her betrayal. That's extremely realistic and relatable. Eloise and Penelope had a very strong friendship and were practically sisters. They had known each other for years, so of course Eloise would still care about her even though she would never admit that.
I almost teared up when she apologized to Penelope after Cressida teared her dress, and when the ton discovered that Colin was assisting Penelope in finding a husband, Eloise followed Penelope out of the ballroom and if Colin hadn't stopped her she would have went to Penelope and apologize to her.
I was initially against Eloise and Cressida's friendship, but now I like it because both characters are growing and changing together. Cressida is learning how to be kinder, and Eloise is starting to realize her privilege and is getting a reality check. I loved it when Cressida humbled Eloise when Eloise accused her of revealing Penelope and Colin's plan to the entire ton, when it was actually Eloise because she did not know how to whisper while confiding in Cressida.
I am disappointed that Lady Danbury and Penelope's friendship from the books is not included. Hopefully, they actually have a conversation in the second part. I almost screamed at my television when John appeared on screen. I actually thought Lord Samadani was John and that the writers changed his last name like they did with the Sharma sisters, so I was SHOCKED when the actual character was revealed.
Polin were side characters in their own season. It was giving season 2 with Kate. I understand that Polin knew each other for years, but Colin, falling in love with Penelope, felt so rushed. In my opinion she forgave him too easily.
I don't understand Hyacinth's dresses at all. She's canonically twelve years old, yet she's dressing like an adult woman from that era. I believe that the costume designers didn't really pay much attention to the character when it came with her outfits because Hyacinth is a minor character despite being a Bridgerton. Her and Gregory are given limited screen time.
Lord Debling was so disappointing. I liked him at first until he got mad at Penelope for having feelings for Colin when he told her not even ten minutes ago that he did not and may never love her in return. The writers could have come up with something else to get rid of him. Also, while he was sweet, he was very boring.
The hot air balloon scene was so good. I rewatched that scene three times. Colin, being the first one to realize that something was wrong with the hot air balloon, makes so much sense because he spent months on a ship.
I don't care that Colin is sleeping with other women. Anthony slept with dozens of women before marrying Kate and Benedict was literally sleeping with a woman throughout the first part. Colin was a virgin in the first season, but this is season three and he is not the same man he was back in the first season.
THE CARRIAGE SCENE WAS AMAZING. Everything that happened in that scene occurred almost the exact same way in the book.
I love Violet and Marcus. Lady Danbury had no right to be mad because she slept with Violet's mother.
Well, those are my thoughts. I am so excited for the second part.

So, after watching the first 4 episodes of Bridgerton season 3, I have a few first, very, very random thoughts.
Spoilers ahead - you have been warned.
A disclaimer beforehand - all my comments pertain to the characters and storylines, not the actors, who did the best they could with the material they were given. Just so we're clear on this.
Sadly, the rumours were true, and we got only one episode of Kathony in the first part. But damn, they made it count!
Also, I am just gonna say it, it is now officially canon that Anthony loves to eat out his wife. Last season already established that, but this season cemented it. End of story.
I absolutely love Francesca! She is so different from her siblings, being the one who does not want to be in the spotlight and prefers peace and quiet. It is so fitting! Though her comment regarding marrying to just get it over with and especially settling for whatever match the queen might present to her? That gave huge season 2 Anthony vibes.
Speaking of season 2 - Francesca being questioned by the season's bachelors as well as her comment about being "inspected like a rare insect" reminded me of Anthony conducting his interviews when he was looking for a wife. Mhm...
Edwina making a "splendid match abroad" to me means that Edwina marrying Friedrich is now canon. Change my mind.
Good god, Colin is obnoxious and pretentious when he comes back from his travels. How on earth is this man considered a catch? He is self-absorbed and arrogant and I would just like to point out that he is a third son who has learned no trade, never contributed to the family estate in any way and is basically living off of his family's money. I have already read some comments that Colin's new persona is a facade he needs to shed before he truly can be with Penelope just as she needs to come clean to Colin about being Lady Whistledown, and I can kinda get behind that, but let's see.
There were several interviews in which it was said that Benedict will have a newfound purpose this season, and after 4 episodes I am wondering, is that new purpose just taking over managing the estate when Anthony and Kate are on their honeymoon and shagging Lady Tilley Arnold? Because if that is all, then I feel very, very sorry for Ben.
Lady Arnold somehow reminds me of Star Trek Voyager's Seven of Nine. I think it's the hair. Go figure...
Lord Debling is awesome. He's the one new character I want to see more of. Give him a decent storyline for the remainder of the season and maybe a proper love interest. No, not Cressida.
And while we're speaking of Cressida, sorry, but I did not buy the entire "she is only mean because she's been treated badly by her parents" storyline.
That speech Violet gives Colin in the fourth episode? About Colin being "one of her most sensitive children, always aware of what others needed" and someone who rarely puts himself first? And then saying that she can imagine it being wearing at times to live to please others? Did that woman somehow mix up her children? That first part should really have been meant for Benedict and the second for Anthony last season.
The costumes were even less regency than in the first two seasons, and while I get that this is a creative choice and in my mind Bridgerton is a Regency inspired fantasy world anyway, I would have loved to see more era appropriate silhouettes.
Ok, rant over. I might change my mind on a few of the above as I rewatch the episodes and maybe after the second part od season 3 streams, but maybe not.
Did, I enjoy the new season. It was ok. As they say, not great, not terrible. Will I rewatch it? Of course I will. Will I watch the second part? You bet I will. Did it give me inspiration to write something? Very much so.
So watch this space.

okay, some vague overall thoughts for bridgerton 3x01-04 (spoilers ofc)
benedict didn't get much to do. am disappoint. all he did was run away from mamas and debutantes, and find a widow and then he did a lot of fucking. impressive
this so far is the season of the sideplots being more interesting
creloise is the literal damn highlight of the season so far. ESPECIALLY cressida
anthony is also, to me, always the damn highlight of any season. except for s1 on my first watch. heh.
but on that note, since cressida's gone the same way as anthony, now i get to rewatch s1 and s2 cressida scenes and just skjfgnkfg fall in love with her even more, like i did with anthony
ugh, cressida's dad! :( but as someone else said, what's wrong with befriending a bridgerton? haha maybe eloise is not Male enough. THEN LET HER MARRY A WOMAN, U ANCIENT DICK
i love i love i love all the a&b scenes we got, and anthony being the big bro and looking out for gregory
speaking of gregory, what was the purpose of him having a broken arm lmao. IS there a purpose? will there be a purpose?
rip that anthony went on a second honeymoon and had the balls to do it, i miss him being chained to his desk with violet slowly eviscerating him with a blunt knife
(i did detect some potential delicious conflict though re how slow violet's been at moving out of the house. i wonder if the show will get into that)
francesca and john stirling. aaah they snuck that one right by us. i love him and i love them! i'm not sure how much i like francesca yet though; i don't hate her but there's nothing i particularly like yet
so this is the first season where it's not (primarily) told from the point of view of a bridgerton. interesting.
i thought debling would've caught on earlier that some weird shit is going on with pen/colin, and with pen/eloise/cressida. but... well, either he did, or he's as dumb as a doornail (haha i know switched up the phrase). but yeah, at first i liked the idea of pen/debling, but by ep 4 he had become rather flavourless
portia's gonna be shook when she finds out pen and colin are getting married :3 she better be happy for pen! and also like, be nicer to her; i feel like there was a look from her towards the end of the ball in ep 4 where she might be rethinking how she talks to pen
anyway, will add to this post if i think of anything more.
ETA:
that spoiler we got after the bowral screening of anthony being gifted a venetian glass ball; has that been cut from the ep...? instead he's just holding a ball which he is gonna try and fit into his mouth and/or hole for Science. string somehow attached ofc! can't have it getting lost 😈
SKDJNGK nearly forgot. okay so i have some thoughts re will and alice mondrich. with how gossipy and snipey and judgey the ton is, i'm surprised they were fairly well accepted into the ton. that is something i had not extrapolated on based on s1-2. but i do feel like cressida's mum and her friends are doing them dirty behind their backs. so that's... good... good as in, it doesn't invalidate what i headcanoned for a/b fic lmao
aaaaaand, once again for good measure - anthony's gay lil sit:

Bridgerton Rewatch S1E1 - Diamond of the First Water (Part 1)
In the lead-up to Bridgerton season 3, I decided to do a rewatch so here I go.
I think it’s interesting to pay attention to the different positions and ranks of the families in the show so I just assumed for a while that Lord Featherington was just sort of a generic lord. Did not occur to me for a second that he held the title of a barony. I know it’s the lowest level of British peerage but it still seems too high, especially with the Bridgertons being one rank above them.
I will always find it charming that there are hyacinths decorating the outside of the Bridgerton house.
Speaking of Hyacinth, she and Gregory are SO TINY in the first season. Mini little babies, they are so cute.
I have a theory about Eloise but I can’t confirm it until I finish the rewatch so for now I’ll just say that she is an impatient queen.
People mostly talk about Violet and Anthony’s relationship as it pertains to the second season but it’s clear from the jump that Violet has very little, if any, respect for Anthony. Like, I get it but damn.
The Featherington girls debuting together doesn’t make sense to me. Penelope’s the youngest at 17, which is a normal age for a debutante. But Prudence is 21 and Philippa is 19. Why was it so important for all of the girls to debut at the same time? It’s really bugging me.
So I paused when the focus cut back to the Bridgertons while the Featheringtons were being presented and I was not disappointed.
Anthony is trying his damnedest not to laugh, mostly cause he has pity for Pen
Francesca, Gregory, and Hyacinth are all just trying to figure out why Pen, who is the same age as Eloise, is debuting before El.
Eloise feels so much pain and pity for her friend, the face says it all.
And then there’s Colin. This might just be my Polin brainrot but I swear Colin is eyeing Pen up. Like, that man is fully admiring his “best friend.” He’s so in love and he doesn’t even know it, I’ll die.
I think the way this episode is edited is really interesting, especially the debut sequence. What really caught my attention is when we cut back to Hyacinth looking awestruck as Daphne is making her debut. It says so much about their characters and how Hyacinth looks up to Daphne. All that to say, editing is an extremely underappreciated craft, especially in costume dramas and romance.
Knowing that Pen is Lady Whistledown makes a lot of the stuff she says earlier in the show so much harsher. Like, it was completely unnecessary for her to take cheap shots at the Bridgertons for the alphabetical names. IDK, that just made me a bit uncomfortable.
Another LWD thing. I’m not the first one to point this out but I do feel the need to mention that WD is the one to come up with the term “diamond” to refer to the Queen’s favorite debutante.
Now we get Simon. I love Simon but I noticed something different this watch. I think a part of the reason Simon hates society and doesn’t want to participate in it (other than the whole marriage thing) is that he never got the chance to be a part of it when he was young. Basically, he can’t find anything about society to like because he was never exposed to it.
No real note here. I’m just admiring Lady Danbury. I am a Lady Danbury stan first and a person second.
Throughout this season and for the majority of season 2, Anthony Bridgerton is probably the most inconsiderate character. This isn’t to say that he’s a bad person (he can be) but more to say that he rarely thinks before he speaks.
Moment of silence for VSQ. I have thoughts on the soundtrack to this show but that will have to be another post, I think.
The character designs are fantastic. This is another thing I have thoughts on but will go in another post. I just wanna take the space to compliment the costuming and HMU departments for being able to tell so much story through character design.
This next bullet just says “Anthony, leave her alone.” Which basically sums up the entirety of his and Daphne’s relationship.
I don’t know who holds the singular brain cell in the Bridgerton family but it’s not Anthony, Benedict, Colin, or Daphne.
Watching Colin sneak up to Marina to dance with her during the Danbury ball is always uncomfortable and I couldn’t tell you why.
Tangentially related fun fact, Lord Berbrooke is played by the same actor who played Sarah’s “love interest” in Derry Girls.
So this is a weird one but Colin can partially be blamed for Daphne falling out of favor with the ton. I know this sounds insane, just trust me. The Bridgertons are a very influential family. Their opinion matters a lot, especially at the beginning of the first season. So, where one Bridgerton goes, the men of the Ton will follow. Colin’s infatuation with Marina shifted the spotlight onto her and away from Daphne. This is also compounded by Anthony being an asshole, which I will get to later. But I don’t think Colin’s pursuit of Marina exists in a vacuum, especially at first.
I wrote down “rewatching makes me think less of Pen” but I have no idea what that was in reference to so I’m just gonna shove it on here.
Tumblr is dumb and has character limits so part 2 will be up soon.

Get to know me (tag game)
I'm super late for this one, but I've merged two sets of questions, thank you @savriea & @dutifullylazybread for the tag! I'm very happy 🌸
Do you make your bed? —I do - or I try to, I feel better when it's done and it makes me feel like I can move on with my day 🫡 Exceptions are for when I'm late, but then I would do it before going to bed!
Favourite number? — 5 (but 3 or 7 also work) (I like odd numbers in general)
What's your job? — I quit my job a few weeks ago sooo at the moment unemployed fanfic writer I guess 🤠
If you could go back to school, would you? — I think so! I would love to go back to study something I really like without the pressure of earning the degree since I already have one, and then take the time to actually learn and discuss the topics rather than to focus on grades.
Can you parallel park? — In theory, yes, I can. In practice... maybe? I don't drive often, so when I have to park I try to make it as easy as I can for myself (so not parallel park)
Do you think aliens are real? — Yes, I think it'd be quite sad if we were the only form of life in the universe
Can you drive a manual car? — Yes!
What's your guilty pleasure? — Cheesy romance and romcoms, I'm down baaaad for it, especially the 90s ones
Tattoos? — Not yet, mostly because I'm too indecisive on what to get and where haha
Favourite color? — Red, then shades of purples, blues and greens :)
Favourite type of music? — Taylor Swift definitely, but otherwise I love pop-rock and instrumental/classical soundtracks from games and movies
Do you like puzzles? — Ehhh, I can do puzzles to pass the time but I'm not drawn to them otherwise. If I can't get it quickly it tends to annoy me 🥲
Any phobias? — Yeah, spiders :(
Favourite childhood sport? — I had a complex relationship with sports as a kid so I don't think I had any really? But I loved to run around and play hide and seek if that counts lol
Do you talk to yourself? — Occasionally, when I need to "hear" the steps in a process or to guide myself through something step by step. Sometimes I do it when I'm in a very good mood too!
What movie(s) do you adore? — Oh! Lords of the Ring trilogy is my absolute fave of all time, then the Ghibli movies, Pride & Prejudice (2005), and I cannot think of others at the moment although I'm sure there's at least like 20 more haha
Coffee or tea? — Tea always, but in recent years I've learned to like coffee (although I love the smell more than the taste)
First thing you wanted to be growing up? — A teacher! And I'm kinda glad I didn't choose this path now 😬
Last song I listened to — guilty as sin 🤍
Current obsession— Rolan 👀 and BG3 in general ❤️
Last thing I Googled — my dentist's phone number lol
Favorite Season — Autumn, when the leaves are red and gold and the sky is still blue 🍁
Skill I'd like to learn — Drawing! I've just started to take art classes and I'm super motivated (and to finally be able to draw all my Tavs! and their partners hihi)
Best advice — trust yourself and do things for yourself first and foremost (drawing, writing, etc etc); don't try to match people's expectations and do things at your own pace, life's not a race :)
Currently watching — waiting for Bridgerton part 2, so in the meantime I'm rewatching the classic period drama movies (P&P, Emma, etc.)
Currently reading — Quoting this from @savriea because it's exactly my answer too lmao
— A stupidly long list of BG3 fanfics as my "to read" books sit gathering dust on my bookshelf.
Relationship status — taken, four years already :)
Sweet/Savory/Spicy — sweet all the way with a side of savoury, spicy food is a no-go however, I cannot handle spices 😱
no pressure tags for the lovely @sleketon666 @kimberbohwrites @poetryvampire 🌸 (feel free to ignore if you've already done it!!)

“Anthony stared at her for a long moment, his eyes locking with hers until he felt they must be one person (…) he cupped the back of her head and leaned down to kiss her. His lips worshiped hers, offering her every ounce of love and devotion and reverence and prayer that he felt in his soul.”

many thanks to @wanderdreamer for the tag!!
Favorite Color: I've literally loved every shade of green since I was a child, but I'm beggining to appreciate blue more, especially when it's mixed with green. red it's pretty too but only when it's a dark shade, not really a fan of highlighter.
Last Song: been listening to the black sails playlist for two days straight while studying and sleeping and nothing else (the soundtrack I'm listening to while writing this is the banner of captain flint, if anyone's curious).
Last Movie: I watched one at the theater today for a school activity (?) and since i'm italian, it was an italian movie. very recommended but very graphic and violent: Io, capitano (I captain).
Currently Watching: new girl because I've got six months free of disney+, black sails because I refuse to finish the last season (the last episode I watched was e2s4 on august 31st), modern family (but I've been trying to finish that for years) and only murders in the building (again for free disney+).
Other Stuff I Watched This Year: one piece live action (you HAVE to watch it), good omens s2 (watch this too) and extraordinary attorney woo (im not very into kdrama but I loved it).
Shows I Dropped This Year: started but can't get past episode two of the great, can't finish queen charlotte (I didn't even finish bridgerton because s1 is too boring) and I've been trying to watch attack on titan for years (I reached e1s3 but I can't get past that since 2018, so I've been rewatching hoping i can finish it).
Currently Reading: it'd be quicker to just drop my goodreads and leave, but the latest are the price of freedom (prequel of potc), circe (literally on page 2) and the last wish (from the witcher). I get bored too easily and I haven't found something that interesting yet, but I'm about to start the poppy war and I've heard it's good so I hope I can read all three books in a row and not want to shoot myself in the face out of boredom (finger crossed 🤞).
If you stumble on this, feel free to do it.
I'd also like to tag @boltlightning @annabellioncourt @fred-erick-frankenstein and hope to get to know you better ❤️.

I just rewatched Bridgerton season 2 and oh my, what about Anthony asking his daughter if it’s alright if he proposes to Kate (cuz, I mean, he’s a grown up and he will do as he wants, but still takes his daughter’s opinion in account cuz Kate would be her new mother), and ofc she agrees to it because Kate is THE best? Just a cute father-daughter moment (or if you want to write a little something about this where Kate is also in it and they share they first moment as a family would also be super sweet)💕😍
Anthony goes into his daughter's room, knowing she's preparing to go to sleep for the night. Anthony walks in, seeing her climbing into bed.
"Hello, darling." Anthony greets.
"Hi, papa." Y/N smiles.
"I have a question for you." Anthony tells her, sitting on the edge of her bed. "You know how I was supposed to marry Miss Edwina." He recalls and Y/N nods. "Well... how would you feel if I proposed to Miss Kate?"
"You marry Miss Kate?" Y/N asks.
"Yes. We... I love her and if she accepts, I want to marry her. But I wanted to see if you would be alright with that." Anthony says.
"I'd love it." Y/N grins.
"Really?" Anthony asks and Y/N excitedly nods. "Okay. Though, I think it's about time you went to sleep." He says, tucking her in.
- - -
A few days later, Anthony and Kate sat Y/N down in the drawing room. She agreed to marry him last night, the two finally together.
"We have some news." Anthony tells his daughter. "Miss Kate and I are to be wed."
"You said yes?" Y/N looks at Kate.
"Yes. Yes, I did." Kate nods.
Y/N lets outs a small squeal and she tightly hugs Kate, her soon to be mother. Anthony smiles softly at the interaction, Kate hugging the girl back.

#25 Summation, reflections and plans for 2024
Now that the calendar is over I want to wrap things up with some thoughts and facts about of what have been and what is coming.
The calendar
In this calendar I've written about 24 series that have meant something to me through my life. There are other series I might actually like more than some of them today, but they've all changed how I see things or how I feel about a certain subject. I started of with M*A*S*H, which will always be my all time favourite and which came into my life early. I ended with Julie and the Phantoms, which just recently came into my life and about which I still have a lot to learn. Some posts almost wrote themselves, while others needed some rewatches and reminiscing.
Here are all the posts:
#1 M*A*SH
#2 The Big Bang Theory
#3 Gilmore Girls
#4 Sex and the city
#5 Oc
#6 How I met your mother
#7 New Girl
#8 Please like me

The list for 2024
I stream A LOT of media, and mostly series, some weeks up to 40 hours. This because I usually have something on in the background, it makes me focus even better. I work from home about half the time and the TV is always on, on these days. But it's normaly rewatches and comfort series and I have a hard time starting new ones. So, to help with this, my goal for 2024 is to complete a list of series I want to watch, but haven't dealt with yet. I might not complete them all if I don't like them, but the goal is to start them all.
The unlisted
The irregulars
Raising Dion
Cloak and Dagger
Never have I ever
Everything sucks
Heartbreak high
Elite
Derry Girls
Umbrella academy
Bodies
White Lotus
My life with the Walter boys

I'd love to get other tips you think I might like to add to the list! it's mostly Netflix, HBO Max and Disney+ that works, but feel free to tip on anything.
New seasons in 2024
Apart from new discoveries I'll surely get back to some old favourites from time to time. And some of them have some very interesting updates coming up.
Young Royals, season 3 (March)
Bridgerton, season 3 (May 16th and June 13th)
Emily in Paris, season 4
Heartstopper, season 3
Ginny and Georgia, season 3
Confirmed seasons but not confirmed year
Bridgerton, season 4
XO Kitty, season 2
That 90's show, season 2
Ginny and Georgia, season 4 (2025)
Thank you.
Thanks to all of you who've hade the patience to read at least one of these posts. I made them mostly for myself, to be honest, but I'm always glad if someone else enjoys it too! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all of you!

Bridgerton
Ok so i’m rewatching it now out of pure boredom and i’ve realized somethings and one of them is that Eloise is a fucking idiot.
Don’t get me wrong, she is one of my favourite characters but for someone who reads so much and counts as more curious than others she is absolutely oblivious to things that are impossible to be oblivious about.
First of all, the thing about her not knowing how babies are born. I get it, her mother didn’t explain squat, that’s fair, but Eloise reads... there are poems, books, and many many scripts that mention that shit. Now yes, that is fault of the show writers fine, but still I found it so dumb that they tried to make a gag out of it when it just wasn’t consistent.
Second thing, the number of times that Penelope has slipped and almost revealed herself in season 2. Eloise was able to find the same fucking paper material as whistledown’s but could not figure out that Penelope’s speech about being an observer of gossip was ample evidence.
Another thing that bugs me is how little the show writers show her writing talent. If Eloise is so keen on becoming a writer, why aren’t we shown any of it? We get to see benedict’s art and his adventures at it but never get a glimpse at her writing or her love for it other than that she reads. Yes, benedict is a man and gets to peruse his passion, but that doesn’t mean that we can’t get a glimpse at her own life in a single episode. All I see from Eloise is her remarks on sexism and how shitty stereotypes are, which I love to see, but I would also like to see her talent, it just feels like they wanted to add a feminist character for the lines and attitude.
I know Eloise isn’t meant to be some sort of genius, but rather someone who is able to recognize the silliness in the world around them, it’s just that her curiosity and consumption of knowledge doesn’t match some of the things she does.
However, I do love many other things she does, like when she states to her mother how her beliefs and actions are not just some act of rebellion for others to admire. I love that scene and wished they could’ve explored that part of her more. Because that’s what it’s truly about.
Another is how she wants to look for Lady Whistledown in order to discuss ideas and shit woman-to-woman, it’s very wholesome and I liked her detective attitude towards it.
Also, Colin is not a character. He has less personality and presence than fucking gregory, but alas, I always thought this and just wanted to mention it. I know a lot of people love him and I get it I guess but like all he has is being Penelope’s love interest and even that is flavourless and feels half-assed. I just wish that the writers put a little more effort into the siblings.
I hate how they queer baited people with Benedict just to make him the straightest person in season 2. Heart eyes for both men and women, looking at both the naked figure of men and women, literally admiring Henry Graville, not his life, but him, and then throwing it all in the trash is so fucked up. I still hope they at least make him canonically bi.
I loved how they showed Anthony’s growth, in season 1. He showed that he could learn from the mistakes he did with his sister and mother and actually changed his ways, it was so refreshing.
Daphne’s trick/rape with Simon was horrible I lack the words for it,I know the book had it, but the show could’ve literally avoided adding it, its triggering and totally evil I don’t even know what to say. I don’t know whether to hate Daphne or the writers because her character was totally amazing up until that episode.
I used to hate the Featheringtons a lot on my first watch but actually enjoyed watching them this time around idk it just felt different. I guess I had a little more morality the first time and just don’t care this time but yeah no I love them, especially Lady Featherington, she fucking rules bro, she’s a little evil but she’s what Eloise wished she was. Lmfao jk but yeah Lady Featheringtons a boss.
love mama bridgerton, she deserves better, (should teach her kids about sex coz wtf) shes my love.
love lady danbury, she also deserves better.
