It is traumatic to live in a world where major world religions teach that your very existence as a woman was an afterthought to god, and you only exist to serve men. It traumatic to hear that there are people who think your existence as a gay person is sinful and evil. EVEN IF YOU WERE NOT RAISED RELIGIOUS. Knowledge of those belief systems and their prominence is TRAUMATIZING. It is okay to be angry about it. It is okay to feel grief about it. Knowing millions, if not billions of people, think you are inferior and deserve to die is fucking painful.

there is no difference between religious and atheist men. one believes women are submissive and meant to serve men because sky daddy said so and the other thinks men are biologically superior and women biologically inferior because of hurr durr evolution

The fact that Genesis says Eve is the mother of all living, meanwhile the New Testament says everyone inherits death through Adam never fails to amuse me
Not sure how Eve got made out to be the villain here

I watched the documentary "keep sweet: pray and obey" about the flds yesterday. It's obviously very bleak but there were a few things I found especially unsettling. First, how blatant and clumsy the whole ideology is. This prophet is basically just saying "God wants me to marry a lot of young girls" and everyone is just going along with it. The documentary emphazises the brain washing happening in this cult but it more or less ignores the amount of grown men who actively and willingly participated in this system because it gave them access to girls and women. Those men are talking about love while inflicting unimaginable terrors on their wives and daughters (and young sons - since all the young girls are married off to older man the teenage boys are kicked out) yet the documentary did not really frame them as perpetrators, more as victims themselves. If a man is disobedient to the church, his wives and children will be redistributes to another man. He will be completely erased from their lifes. This is violent and extrem, but the family itself is already a product of extreme violence that was enacted by those men; they have no right to call themselves victims. Speaking of victims: the documentary focused very much on the sexual abuse of children. Obviously it's a tragedy and a shame that 14 year old girls are married off to men in their thirties and are raped and forced to birth more children for this sick system, but treating girls like property, like currency doesn't suddenly become okay as soon as they turn 18. Rape, forced marriage and forced birth are horrible crimes on their own. Violence against women is so normalized that people don't even care, apparently it's only the violence against children what makes this unacceptable and that is so depressing.

Murder of Mahsa Amini (مهسا امینی), 22, by Iranian police over hijab dress code violation and subsequent mass protests | 16 September 2022
"A 22-year-old woman has died in an Iranian hospital days after being detained by the regime’s morality police for allegedly not complying with the country’s hijab regulations.
Mahsa Amini was travelling with her family from Iran’s western province of Kurdistan to the capital, Tehran, to visit relatives when she was reportedly arrested for failing to meet the country’s strict rules on women’s dress.
Witnesses reported that Amini was beaten in the police van, an allegation the police deny.
The news comes weeks after Iran’s hardline president, Ebrahim Raisi, ordered a crackdown on women’s rights and called for stricter enforcement of the country’s mandatory dress code, which has required all women to wear the hijab head-covering since the 1979 Islamic revolution.
Amini’s family were notified that she had been taken to hospital hours after her arrest. She was transferred to an intensive-care unit at Kasra hospital.
According to Hrana, an Iranian human rights organisation, Amini’s family were told during her arrest that she would be released after a “re-education session”."
"The mandatory dress code, which applies to all nationalities and religions, not just Iranian Muslims, requires women to conceal their hair and neck with a headscarf and wear a loose tunic or coat over their clothes.
Over the decades, women have increasingly pushed back, particularly in the big cities, pushing their headscarves far back on their heads to reveal their hair."
Following a familiar playbook from previous protests and subsequent government crackdowns, internet access is being restricted including messaging apps.
The message written on Mahsa Amini's tombstone reads,
"Zina (Mahsa), you will not die, your name will become a symbol "
in Kurdish.
Many people have been injured, detained and killed by authorities in the following protests, which are ongoing. Women are at the frontlines of these protests, often shaving or cutting their hair, taking off or burning their veils, and being targeted by authorities.
Please see the original posts made by @menalez and especially @aftabkaran for more on what is happening.

there was a pastor who a few weeks ago was recorded publicly saying if he was on the jury during a rape trial, he would let the guy go free if the women was wearing shorts… am I crazy or should people who say shit like that literally just be unable to serve on juries from now on

Adam ate the fruit too so it’s funny to me that many men’s justification for misogyny over the past several thousand years is basically “she started it” 💀

Of course, the burkini ban is messed up on grounds of religious freedom and racial discrimination. But also
Under any other circumstances, people would be HORRIFIED at a government mandate that women have to show a certain amount of skin. Like. That’s fucking dystopian, and the absolute opposite of feminism. If a government tried to pass a law that all women had to wear tube tops and miniskirts to go outside, people would rightfully be up in arms demanding blood
But because it’s targeting a marginalized religious group, many folks are lauding the blatant forced sexualization of women. Appalling
(apparently the ban also outlaws things like sun – protecting bathing suits if they cover too much skin. Which like. Yes, let’s give everyone skin cancer just so we can spite a religion we’ve decided to hate. Sounds like a good plan </s>)

MDNI - 18+ ONLY.
Tumblr media
your stepfather had always told you to save yourself for marriage, that it was in your best interest to keep yourself pure for your husband, to obey his orders, and to keep yourself submissive and obedient.
hearing that you wanted to go to college was already enough for könig, whose beliefs were old-fashioned. he believed you'd be better off in the kitchen, cooking and cleaning, like a woman should.
he didn't like the idea of you being independent and having a choice of your own. to könig, you need a man's guidance, and he knew you better than anyone better than yourself. he didn't like that you no longer had to depend on your stepfather for love and adoration. to make matters worse, you came home from college parties with the smell of booze, liquor, and marijuana obvious from your breath, as well as the new, fresh hickeys sucked into your bare neck.
your stepfather believed that this was enough for a brutal punishment. the sight was infuriating; it left könig feeling sick to his stomach, and könig couldn't help himself from dragging you to the ground by your hair and screaming at you for being sinful and ungodly. you had tears running down your burning cheeks, sobbing out pathetically on your knees as he shamed you for being a filthy whore and for not obeying his orders.
you felt his large and calloused hands grasp at the bible laying on the coffee table, the smell of bitter coffee beans from his breath as he growled at you to read, forced to mutter verses from the bible whilst he spread your soft thighs, tearing your panties off your figure while forcing you to pray for your forgiveness, to be spared, and for mercy. it was disgusting and humilating for the priest to see his stepdaughter commit lust and become so provocative. each thrust left your voice shaking, trembling from the ache between your thighs, his thick and girthy cock stretching your pretty cunt out.
you heaved and cried, too intoxicated to think straight or to mumble a coherent sentence. your glassy, teary eyes rolled back as you stuttered over your words, choking on your pitiful, pained cries while your stepfather degraded and shamed you, spitting cruel and horrible words at you as he raped your tight, raw cunt ‘til it was swollen and sore. the sight of your crimson blood running down your thighs was used as encouragement for könig, to continue with his violence until you promised to listen. he growled and huffed, rutting into you mercilessly and unforgivingly, admiring the state of your wet face before slapping you brutally, your eyes unfocused as you babbled out an apology.
it's his duty as a priest and your stepfather to make sure you're pure and obedient to your future husband. he can't allow you to commit sinful acts without consequence; it's for your own benefit, schatzchen... now, stop crying and let him rape your weak body into obedience.
