She Keeps Me Warm
Written By: Mary Lambert
Artist: Mary Lambert
Released: 2013
This song is an extension of her collaboration with Macklemore and Ryan Lewis on “Same Love.” Where “Same Love” advocated a message of equality for same-sex couples, this song celebrates the love and attraction within same-sex relationships. It is a pure love song meant for all people, intending not to exploit or provide shock value, but to paint a graceful and powerful romantic picture. Written by Lambert, the song utilizes the familiar chorus and coda of “Same Love,” while employing a string-laden production and pop structure.
[Verse 1] She says I smell like safety and home I named both of her eyes Forever and Please Don't Go I could be your morning sunrise all the time, all the time, yeah This could be good, this could be good [Chorus] And I can't change, even if I tried Even if I wanted to And I can't change, even if I tried Even if I wanted to My love, my love, my love, my love She keeps me warm, she keeps me warm [Verse 2] What's your middle name? Do you hate your job? Do you fall in love too easily? What's your favorite word? You like kissing girls? Can I call you baby? [Pre-Chorus] She says that people stare Cause we look so good together Yeah, yeah, yeah [Chorus] And I can't change, even if I tried Even if I wanted to And I can't change, even if I tried Even if I wanted to My love, my love, my love, my love She keeps me warm, she keeps me warm [Outro] I'm not crying on Sundays, I'm not crying on Sundays I'm not crying on Sundays, I'm not crying on Sundays Love is patient, love is kind Love is patient, love is kind My love, my love, my love, my love She keeps me warm, she keeps me warm

Heaven Is a Place on Earth
Written By: Ellen Shipley & Rick Nowels
Artist: Belinda Carlisle
Released: 1987
Re-recording included: 2017
“Heaven Is a Place on Earth” was the lead single from Belinda Carlisle’s second album, Heaven on Earth. The single was released in September 1987, shortly before the album, and it reached the top of the charts in at least nine countries. The song features Thomas Dolby on keyboards, and among the backing singers were Michelle Phillips (of the Mamas and the Papas) and the song’s writers, Rick Nowels and Ellen Shipley. When Carlisle reprised the song for her 2017 album Wilder Shores, she slowed the tempo and sang only with piano accompaniment.
[Chorus] Ooh, baby, do you know what that's worth? Ooh, Heaven is a place on Earth They say in Heaven love comes first We'll make Heaven a place on Earth Ooh, Heaven is a place on Earth [Verse 1] When the night falls down I wait for you and you come around And the world's alive With the sound of kids on the street outside [Pre-Chorus] When you walk into the room You pull me close and we start to move And we're spinning with the stars above And you lift me up in a wave of love [Chorus] Ooh, baby, do you know what that's worth? Ooh, Heaven is a place on Earth They say in Heaven love comes first We'll make Heaven a place on Earth Ooh, Heaven is a place on Earth [Verse 2] When I feel alone I reach for you and you bring me home When I'm lost at sea I hear your voice and it carries me [Pre-Chorus] In this world, we're just beginning To understand the miracle of living Baby, I was afraid before But I'm not afraid anymore [Chorus] Ooh, baby, do you know what that's worth? Ooh, Heaven is a place on Earth They say in Heaven love comes first We'll make Heaven a place on Earth Ooh, Heaven is a place on Earth [Interlude] (Heaven) (Heaven) (Heaven) [Bridge] In this world, we're just beginning To understand the miracle of living Baby, I was afraid before But I'm not afraid anymore [Break] (Heaven) [Chorus] Ooh, baby, do you know what that's worth? Ooh, Heaven is a place on Earth They say in Heaven love comes first We'll make Heaven a place on Earth Ooh, Heaven is a place on Earth Ooh, Heaven is a place on Earth Ooh, Heaven is a place on Earth (Ooh) Ooh, Heaven is a place on Earth Ooh, Heaven is a place on Earth (Ooh) Ooh, Heaven is a place on Earth (Ooh, Heaven is a place on Earth)

hello! i have been on fic posting hiatus for some time now and want to pop back in with a quick WIP update.
if you don't care and just want to read new jerin content: trust me, i understand. so instead i will direct you to where i just posted about 1.6k words of a little snippet of something fun aka james and erin walking around new york city.
someday update: shortly after posting someday chapter 2 i took a much needed posting and internet break. this turned out to be an excellent and very productive idea - i’ve been writing a lot and doing some major re-imagining/restructuring of someday and i just never stop feeling so excited about this story. i'm keeping the timeline vague on purpose because last time i didn't i embarrassingly overpromised, but more is coming very soon.
making moves update: making moves is a little bit of a different story. i hate to say that because i love that little story so much, but it’s just on the back burner for now while i focus on someday and will get its last three chapters at some point in the near future. thank you to my collaborator @derrygirlstrash for your endless patience!
ok, with all that said, i couldn't bring myself to give a WIP update without also sharing a snippet from a someday-related WIP. i just posted the beginning of a pre-someday interlude of james and erin in new york together for about 12 hours in october 2006, roughly six months before someday starts. this trip is mentioned very, very briefly in chapter 2 and the form of what i wrote below is partially inspired by the film, before sunrise.

The Engineer and the Time Lady - Overnight Interlude
17. Overnight Interlude
Half an hour later, Nina emerged from the TARDIS wearing a short cape over her Starfleet uniform, her hair loose and a small mask. She was carrying a tricorder, quarterstaff and a flashlight. She wasn't sure where in the city Octavius could have gone. She closed the ship's door and ran a scan. Octavius was no where near. Nor was Spider-Man. That wasn't entirely unexpected. 'I guess I'll scour the city anyway,' she thought. She walked along the street.
The night was uneventful as she scoured most of Midtown. She couldn't find neither Octavius nor Spider-Man. There were the usual things associated with a large city she found. Homeless taking advantage of whatever shelter they could find, along with nocturnal animals hunting along the streets that were less busy than during the day. The tricorder didn’t detect anything unusual. ‘But there might still be something there,’ she thought as she arrived back at the TARDIS just after sunrise.
She put the tricorder on the console. “Analyse the tricorder data. See if there’s anything unusual in the patterns.
There was a ding. Nina then looked up the information of the rescue of Hernandez from MI6, so she could re-read it while she waited.

So I thought it would be fun to do a song-by-song breakdown of our latest album Essential.
Essential started as some rough demos designated for a side project in late 2019, which then became our largest album to date in terms of song selection. Many of the themes deal with learning to cope with the changing world thanks to Covid, with a perspective of someone who had to keep working at an "essential" job with no option of self-quarantine. I was happy to continue working and being able to pay my bills over the past year, but there was always elements of stress, fear, and tension lingering over myself and everyone else in my position.
So here we go; starting from the top let's look at the Songs of Tuesday X's 6th album Essential.
1. Jet Fuel Can't Melt Steel Beams: the title was a reference to the 9/11 conspiracy memes, which as stated in the opening lines, "has nothing to do with this song." Written in January of 2020 before Covid had made any significant impact in the US, the song touches on many themes which happened to occur throughout the year, such as [another] Californian forest fire (Australia too), new diseases (Covid), a riot (the BLM movement over the summer, which I will state everything that movement has been fighting for is 100% justified and the United States is in desperate need of Police reform, as does our political system which has remained inherently racist to this day.), Civil War (and exaggeration for sure, but the civil unrest and political division in our country will soon split us apart further), more corporate giants(companies like Amazon profited more from this Pandemic than ever before and have helped further the gap between the American working class and the top 1%). Favorite line: "I won't get philosophical, I only wanted your attention."
2. The Only Difference Between You and Me is a Sense of Apathy and Your Brand New Nikes: This song is a blithing criticism of the American political system. Our two party system has left Americans with a choice between "the lesser of two evils" and allows politicians with no true interest in our needs to rise to power. The use of 3rd parties as an alternative is a overly simple compromise that would only just begin to alleviate the problems created in our political system. Both of our main parties are considered conservative parties to the rest of the world, and any progressive measures that would benefit society and reduce the effects of climate change are considered radical and preposterous by politicians with financial stakes in our crooked system where corporatations hold control and the people are treated as fuel for an otherwise worthless currency. Favorite line: "Listen to the radio, they played my favorite song. Now I'm bored and wanting more."
3. Blame it on the Elves: the title is a reference to an episode of the Podcast "Lore" by Aaron Menke (i can't recall which episode, but you should check it out anyway because it's great listen.) An instrumental interlude inspired by ragtime music of the 1920-30's, with an edge of course.
4. Class of Dropouts: This song was written when I was 16 during my sophomore year of high school and was originally featured on my now unavailable album "trees" before adopting the Tuesday X monicker. I brought it back 6 years later because I loved how raw and punk it was. The lyrics are dorky but I decided to leave them as is, it's a cool track for high school stoners to blare and let out their teen angst. Favorite line: "Walking in on my friends fucking."
5. Polaroids on My Bulletin Board: This is a song about growing up. As a 22 year old (now 23) who decided not to go to college straight out of high school, I felt isolated from my peers in a way. By going into the workfield right away I sometimes feel like I skipped a few years and missed out on a lot of opportunities. I regret not leaving my hometown sooner than I did and chasing my dreams of being a touring musician in a band. More often than not I reminisce of my youth playing shows and getting into trouble, as I now feel old and out of place in a scene I grew up in. Favorite line: "I know what it's like to be alive, I know what it's like to live a lie."
6. Labradoodle Underpass: Going back on the theme of growing up, this is about my recent experience with shows as an adult. When I was a teenager I felt ambitious and ready for anything, and I would drop literally everything to go to the nearest show. As an adult I feel introverted and constantly anxious about the world around me. I've missed out on a lot of great shows due to my own self doubt's and anxiety. Now that shows have been canceled for over a year I feel even more regret by not appreciating them more while I could. Favorite line: "23 years and a lingering fear that anything could happen, why am I here?"
7. Some Shit: This was me trying to be modest mouse lol jangly guitars and half talking/half singing vocals describing the world around me. I guess in a way it was an exercise in writing character description and setting, but otherwise it's just a chill track that almost feels aimless at parts. Favorite Line: "it's just some shit I learned from a friend. Just some shit I learned when I was trying to prepare."
8: Woe is the World: On the album this is a chorus snippet that barely a minute long (the full version is available as a bonus track on bandcamp, and it was actually a demo that turned out better than the final version.) I originally wrote this song when I was 15 with a different set of lyrics, but I came back to it while writing this album and re-wrote it to reflect my mental state and the world around me. Overall, just another melancholy track in a sea of melancholy songs. Favorite line: "you've never felt more alone than you do now, was everything worth it in the end?"
9. Then Why Was it Named Gideon?: the title is a reference to a line in Scott Pilgrim's Finest Hour (my favorite series) and like the first track on this album doesn't have much to do with the song. "Gideon" is a simple love song, talking again about how growing up sucks but having the right person by your side can make all the shitty times worth it in the end. Favorite line: "it's time to move on, you're taking too long."
10. I am Here, I'm Looking at Her, and She is Beautiful: This song is entirely about the book "Perks of Being a Wallflower". That's it. Nothing else, let's move on. Favorite line: "Over Christmas I read them a poem about a brown paper bag and the boy who wrote it."
11. Try to Be a Filter, Not a Sponge: Like the previous song, this one is also mostly about "Perks of Being a Wallflower", but with elements of my own experience with toxic relationships. I like to think of it as the character Charlie's experience with Mary Elizabeth overall though. Favorite line: "She called my favorite book washed out trash, said I have no taste and I'm still too sad."
12. Lavender Spray Bottle: This instrumental dates back to 2017. I recorded the guitar part as a demo on my phone and forgot about it. Over time I forgot how to play the guitar part, so I used the demo as a basis and layered everything else on top of it. The title is a reference to a bottle of water with lavender essential oils mixed in that my ex used to fend away spiders in the house we lived in at the time.
13. Hindsight is 2020: I will admit, this is my favorite song on the whole album and was actually the last to be written and recorded. With a simple guitar part and layers of vocals, this song is a direct reflection of life during the peak of the pandemic. With curfews in place and rising case counts, I had to learn to cope with life at home during my late nights away from work. My partner was quarantined during this time and I reflected on the mental strain this put on her. Favorite line: "Don't go to work, you need the money but you're not happy when you're there. Sometimes life is so unfair."
14. I Don't Know How to Deal With Serious Emotions Without Turning Them into a Fucking Joke: the title came from a meme I found on my phone from high school. The song itself was about my own inability to handle serious emotions without coming off as sarcastic. In both the music and lyrics, the song starts as a simple confession before exploding into raw chaos. Favorite line: "it's so hard. I'm so scared, what have I become?"
15. Say Hello to My Little Friend: the last instrumental on this album. A short haunting tune that reflects the final two tracks. The title is probably a reference to Rambo or something, but I never watched it and I thought it fit the feeling of this song.
16. Minneapolis: What became one of the most emotional tracks on this song actually began as a joke. My partner was snap chatting a friend one night and they asked me to write them a song on the spot. So I improvised the first two verses and chorus of this song, referencing her going to school there at the time. I found I actually liked what I had written however, so I refined the track and changed it from a sassy country song into a melancholic lament of my experience in the twin cities and southern Minnesota. Favorite line: "I miss Camp Snoopy, and Paul Bunyon's log flume ride that went around the whole damn mall."
17. Before the Sunrise: the final song on the album is an intimate look at my relationship with my partner. Through past experiences i have become riddled with self doubt and always looking at improving myself as a person. With hopes that one day I'll be the person I'd like to be for mine and their sake, it's an optimistic tribute to my best friend. Favorite line: "the cycle ends until the sun rises again, you're my best friend."
Thank you all so much! Check out Essential and our other music on Bandcamp, Spotify, Apple, and other places! I hope you all enjoyed this personal look at these songs that got me through the worst parts of 2020.

Life In Neon ~ cHapters Of the dreaMing hEart
Part I: A Piece Of Mind

Part III: Pandora's Clock ------------------------- First. Second. Then I see you Third. Air Fourth. Trumpet of Million's child Fifth. Realitv Sixth. Water Seventh. Closure Finale. Memoire, a scene in a lifetime
Part I: A Piece Of Mind
----------------------- In A Room Without A View
When there is reason, I awake in silence
Please enter, The door is open
I. Simple abundance in an empty life ...
The scent of passion after loneliness A hope of jubilation in life Coming closer to a dream A prelude before the plot
This time, the sunset becomes sunrise in my heart
Her sway, wavering in soft motion Guarding, away from polarity
She is herself not another other than her own self Only she can dance alone without a hint of loneliness That whiff of uncommon independence without arrogance With her right palm always open to the wind, A sign of welcomed company, only if she grants
She's a prelude to a drama An overture to a rhapsody
II. Loose-skin-loose drift, truth abuse truth to mute [St*p]
A new consciousness arises from the abyssimal gap, along with the voices of the singing colours, with the company of colourful rain.
A sighs escapes her as her old consciousness deteriorates.
Though silence is golden, it can also be a sign of unbelievable pain.
Terribly one sided, the consciousness gains space only in her extreme. Though it resembles a lesser four letter word, it cannot be spelled as of yet.
To her it came, through her it goes.
It escapes with swiftness by the way of her fingers and unto the three middle strings.
Now the top.
Now the bottom.
A play of ease and enjoyment, like a teardrop of meaning. There's release and meaning in her words, spoken through the melody escaping her fingers. Weaving phrase by phrase into sentences. Line by line into paragraphs. And chapter by chapter into a story, written in the air to her listeners' ears.
She tells her tale.
A drop of colour in melody's landscape First vivid, then lucid, then luminous The story of song and emotion, of motion and sound
Hikari luminates her enticing configuration Dancing fingers, dancing harmony Another conciousness slowly takes presence...
III. Grapple dream drama and colliding day of another mind [?`jection}
She said that fate can intertwine and leave you speechless Between your eyes and mine we share the same story Especially in this corrupted world of mounting decadence Nothing can hold truth and honesty together
As I wave my hand in the air, I motion you to come closer Start this endless romance
Not between you and I But between trust and committance
Wait for silence Wait for sleep Wait for peace
Then we can touch ..in dreams..
Metropolis doesn't want us to sleep Less it let us inhabbit our dreams Only to pieces of the shattered It can only resolve in our disloyalty
Total mindcrime it says, cannot rebuke There's no rebutle, but an end of statement
Pandemonium clouds temporary judgement A short analysis of ourselves
We cannot be subjected to distinctive terms We are fictional
City of blurring lights in swaying darkness Inverse luminary overshadows heartly judgement
"Tell me more..." "Tell me about myself"
IV. Let silence fall assunder as a boundary (ome to 7heism
Escape in makna ~e%ca]>e~ Don't let it be abstract
Have we been transformed? Apostle of today's corporate culture
Would you have changed a thing ? Destruction of the left brain regime
There is a cycle, which determines life and dharma In the starlit sky of human's silver sea of madness On the seeming horizon, inately seen A lonely silver surfer, Comes to push the wheel for me.
"Gotta move" (
"Gotta move" ^
"Gotta move that wheel right round" )
"Push the wheel of dharma round"
Repeat,
Repeat until the end of perdition
This re|>etition is road to redemption
This hand, can you feel it's touch? Now don't let go.
V. Enter this threshold, where you're }afe w/ m{E
Could it be that you and I have grown to love each other, In the dense aura of this lonely city, full of bitterness? True feelings can never hide much long, For whatever covers, cannot hide from true sight
The wind carried your cries, your wishes, your tears. And when I held my hand out to the sky, I caught some of your dreams.
The misty air partialy hides the growing flowers Blooming without sunlight, to the music of the marionettes Quartet players with classical aptitude Flowing melody in rivers of song
Endless...
Love, love, love, love, beautiful life In the eyes of a lover
Love, love, love, love, merciful touch As if in another dream
Dahlia...
Yes we are, I say we are destined Nothing else but nature that guides The wind, the solstice, the leaves Le ciel's faint whispering Warm snow welcomes this gardenia
Let's enter together...
Part II : The Sea of Moonlight ------------------------------
I dream of a blue nightingale
Not a dream. a perchance SDelirium guide me through this dance
a pointer. an address SPathway leading to this glass
not a form. a code SLanguages, conversations I do not recall
From a faraway place . . . The structured becomes the harmonic, then the frail
White Feathers: ---------------
Start of a lasting imperfect feeling A blissful impression unhindered This slight cut, an apothema Sweetening the shape of a tale
More poetry than justice A judgement in a poem
The tale paints itself a caligraphy Cornering prose to naratic ballad
Few words write themselves as prelude to a dream An overture towards realization Forging a small footstep for an elegy A move towards the end of a chapter
Before planting a kiss on the cheek Take a step out of square one
Atrium Universal: -----------------
I can feel the city itself Living, pulsing through me
I can feel the city itself Breathing in my own breath
At night's first saunter Tides, affairs subtly sweeping
Affairs yielding agnomen Pastly borrowed, then lent, now buried
Not a monumentous rite, A forecourting repose of endeavor
Melfluous, degree, decimal
The wall, the crack, the breach A light, a hope, A piece of reverence A sigh, a gleam, A benevolence
Neon. again a blinding, Charges, pistol, crackpot
Rain: -----
Swaying Petals, Fluttering Sight
Resting in silence Peace in the chaos that surrounds
Hiding within metropolis' fog
Out of reach Out of touch
Lit lanterns sway westbound Path seeking seem astray
Only patience can persevere Only time can lead the way
Only a woman
"A deepened interlude as an intro to a greater truth."
In phrases she speak In riddles she keep
Feel, a longing to be Only little she has
Not much left in her palm Desperately trying to keep
Err on the side of safety
"Here belies the safety of my sanctuary."
Trusting no one Careful not to love
Metropolis. weaves her coccoon
Silence within a storm
Survival is her language Passion is her secret
"Lesser I believe in myself, so I hide."
Shade: ------
A tide to ebb, A shoreline A flow, a motion A gaze
Once, a woman Twice, a sun Thrice, a nephentes
I feel the breze A neophytic caress, innocence So much to long for So much to ebb and lose
Subliminal violence An abstract for laterality
I'll always remember The news of a fog, The songs of a deaf
No echo in the halls No lesson but in our own
A feeling, inside her Notwithstanding a fall Silence for the requiem Not now, not for awhile
This feeling, inside me A pace not too far from fiction Splitting images on one screen My futile vision embracing
His feeling, inside him Bewildering encompassion of a trilogy Another mind, a friend, a rushed exemption Coming closer to a closure, then rebirth
Naissance: ----------
The birth of a soul, Deus ex machina
I feel a distant sun caressing A slow perchance for fate and fancy intertwined
What cometh this way Grasping scars emerging from days past
What shroud cloaks this day A slow immedicine, The unsounding of my parts
My love, a mirror, a friend It needs a chance, a chokepoint degapped
Heal me, A cessation from discrepancy
[tides of Helen]
This time window we must cherish, You and I and eye of The All Seeing
There's none other, Than the mindmaze in the mirror
I became, I bethroned, I abjected Thread, my dearest thread I dearly depart myself, bidding A home for a respite
Home : ------
The walls cry of absence and whispers
A slight touch of the palm graces, The plight of the plaintiff behind the fate Cursors move up the struggles of the vein, Inconclusive ill of melancholy
This notion of separation, Reaps the heart to its dires On bended knees we sink, At this river of futile tears
The ambience of loneliness and division, Portrudes above our conscious minds Heisting the current abode, Unfathomable desire to mutually caress
Beyond this boundary exists my other half Beyond this wall lies another...
Another,
Sustain contain then stop the ambience surrounding My speechless thought echoes throughout without surpass
and another,
Oboete [remember] Never forgetting specified frame of memory First clandestine then disctinction to final separation
and another,
..
I hear this loudness from inside my ears Humming, fainting whisper, to a soft speech
and another.
...
No more can I reject my objection towards presence PLighT is a revocable sister of her brother, fate
And you.
I miss you
The corridors of fate seems to form an unwanted maze No escaping reflective clarity, images beyond seen mirrors
Such is the configuration of this longing A lamentable presence, expelled from fate
It has been two long years, It has been an eternity
Your modulating kiss fades from memory As each deafening ambience ravage me
I, to my heart : [Perhaps to silence, I have spoken for far too long.]
Now the peregrine, Now the calmative
a boundary of mist separates while the only road leads to home
I've nowhere to go But to return to the confines of my sanctuary
[pulang]
Y've reached I home
Part III: Pandora's Clock -------------------------
I have come at a crossroads A silent tantrum of mind and consciousness
Please take my hand Brace the future with me
First.
The solitude of a solitary mind At this junction of overlaping converses
A gaze, then a hand A reach from inside
The solitude of a solitary mind At the junction of overlaping converses
A gaze, then a hand A reach from inside
[E] "Would you dance with me?"
Dec, the 12th of each cycle A courtship between Soleil and Capricorn
Of your latter solstice I find my solace Under luminous frost After a day after days before a new season
[Dahlia] Rest dear Soleil Shine a lesser warmth Shine greater southbound
Then through motion and period Embrace at former solstice
A garden in winter Not far from closure Enclosed in glass And luminosity
Come dear lucidity Let us speak to warm ourselves Let us become classic
One past, presenting a future
In this garden we trust Grace a prelude to truthful fancy
In this garden we lust Skin to skin without a mindful hinderance
In this garden we bind fire and ice
A simple presence felt between us and our dance Resultante, Of motion and perceived decadence
.the second conciousness.
A girl in the mirror Yet to set her feet, Yet to step to the real
A face becoming clearer Vivid smile doubtful eyes
Is she to be welcomed?
Don't let her future mimic the past This is not a point of vacancy Don't let time's vagrancy become turmoil This is a coming whirlwind
A new stream of conciousness is the resultant There can be no regret
Sleep, breathe deep, deeper in a shallow sleep
This is a form of regression Unfolding a dream of recurrence
~Mataku From my eyes
.Mata Ku. To eyes of myself
..Ma Ta Ku.. Then my own eyes
...Mata Milik Aku... These eyes are mine
[E] A cyclic process of birth, death and rebirth Sequential teardrop from a cloudless sky Freefall to a deep mirror of factful fallacy far from fiction
More to truth full of lies and truth, then lies, and lastly truth The answer to a riddle of the sequences and the abstract
A fracture of this mindspace leaks into the open Bequeathing beautiful lies of autumn and of lust But the winter in me is still vast, far from passing Not a drop of colour but a blackless landscape of total blur
Second. Then I see you...
On a road once shared before the crossroads Gleaming with a blueish haze of tenderness Before the coming of daylight's echoing shine Take me to a world outside this shallow sleep
Walking to currentness.
Cascading deep dark blue shade follow folly Interred in my living bones, blades of blunt burden Remain in viewable secrecy, lucidly reasoning for an answer Unwritten forgiveness uttered through a wordless whisper
Reflections, There's me in my head and me in the mirror I can see me very clearly, and I don't like it
The vivid image of reflection has a mind of it's own Why do reflections answer me with such prejudice?
...
A revisitation, A reflection of light Duplicating a world Forming an inversion Making you, Not quite yourself
...
Cascade the masks of emotion to emulate prudence Infer I have, that this is a motion of incredulity
I remain
Asking The Heaven for forgive~ness My hope is now in the clarity of my written bequest
Third. Air
Interlude to preciousness
The world is only an interlude I can't wait for the night to cast it's cloak {of dreams}
A gateway to my paralel life, another conciousness Lucidly living in a shallow sleep
Fourth. Trumpet of Million's child
Dawn to daybreak with a string of trust Warm caress of loyal sunlight Distress and jubilance harbours, Away the stray
A soulful sailor's song Lamenting grace and riddance
Yearly yearning without regard Clasping for release
Melding heartplace and effect Arriving distances to encumbrance The headplace earthing Excelling to explace
Love is a peaceful embrace A feeling, most emtious Of innocence in riddles of sin and temperance A forgiveness for the plightful son
[E] I found who I am at last By a glimpse of fate, enduring A slight mention in destiny A moment alone with my dear fate
A close brush, an eventful sigh Relief, a respite to sensefulness
One last time, Take away my breath
Deliver me my chance, To exhale my last sigh
[Dahlia] I am standing on a ledge A stare to this decending fathom
Cold air sweeps behind me As I tearfully leave my presence
I cannot give you more I cannot be a fitting piece
Musing over life and precedence. Now I'm tired.
I've tried so hard to stay afloat. I'm too tired.
Goodbye now, For I am never truly gone
Fifth. Realitv
[E] A life outside of this TV screen A roundabout of moving pictures preceeding Of passion, of circumstance, of changes My faults and lies, my trials and crimes
Curious apprehension of what may yield I behold to myself, my own mindsight A view to a thrill, a dream of a dream A dull lucidity, a makeup of frigidity
My past turns present My presence sinks into the past Another besetting recurrence Another triumph lost
Sixth. Water
[E] How is my lifeline?
There is a light at the end of the tunnel. A freight train coming my way.
There is a door nearer to the right. Marking exit from a disaster.
(Not out of lifeline)
But indeed. It is I, myself who can save me. It is I, myself who conjured the door. It is I, myself who live my life. Not someone else.
And it is I, myself who choose what I believe in. Not someone else not me.
I'm still breathing, I can still exhale Without hesitation, normalcy without change A sense of endless freedom without boundaries Miracles coming at an enjoyable rate
Now here's that jazz [0}
Flood of tears don't drown me You'll never catch me again crying a flood Now that I'm holding on to my dearest hope I have to hold her gently Careful not to break her to pieces
Seventh. Closure
Strewn paleness, The setting sun colours the sky
A thousand rays bidding farewell, Bidding another rest
And I wish I am not here
Wavering clouds speak with the doves A faint sentence caught in my ears
"There's nothing left to hide."
My melodies will take me Wherever this heart is needing to set
You took away all my strength, Now please take away my pain
Leave my cold outside this shell Never let it rain inside these doors
Please lead me to your promises Then please take away my pain
I am in need of refuge
This is the final scene Before the curtain falls . .
Please, Make me believe in hope, And please take away my pain
Finale. Memoire, a scene in a lifetime
Now I must rest, I must be at peace
Hibernating from culture PlacIng membrane, a distance to bid myself
Sayonara for a moment Please do not forget, oboete my dear Remembrance is for sentient bliss
Keep me in your mind And please, bathe your memory of me in absolution

If anything, TI – and that is mainly Richard Armitage as Claude Monet – is a pleasure to look at. Just a cursory glance at my screenshot loot of episode 2 shows that there were smiles and gorgeous galore. But well, it’s not all beauty and joy in the show, and there were things that I felt irked by, too.
Quick summary
Part 2 of the mini series begins after the Franco-Prussian war with Monet and his family returning from London. He reconnects with the scene in Paris and continues to paint – without much success as the salon is still dominated by the Marquis de Chennevières who ridicules the Impressionists’ work. After focusing on Monet and his friendship with Renoir and Bazille, as well as Manet’s groundbreaking work on painting in part 1, this episode still has Monet as the main protagonist but also looks at Edgar Degas. With his eyesight deteriorating and money running scarce after his father’s death, Degas struggles as a painter. Despite producing beautiful work, his treatment of his fragile models is rude and neglectful.
The early worm paints the sunrise. Screenshot
Monet finds himself transfixed by light and colour. The painting that eventually is responsible for the moniker “impressionism”, is a study of the sunrise that he paints in a rush one morning, racing outside to capture the sunlight in all its glory. Similarly, he sets his canvas up in a train station because he wants to paint the whirling steam. What a pioneer! As the salon won’t display the impressionists’ paintings, the group decides to put on their own show, which is to take place in a photographer’s studio. “One passing fad helping another” as the Marquis says… little does he know…
. Renoir, Monet and Degas are on board; Manet declines any participation. Despite great hopes, the exhibition is not a success, neither with critics nor with public.
Consoling Alice Hochedé… well, who wouldn’t want to be consoled by him… Screenshot
At this point, Monet and his wife are living in poverty. Money from Monet’s patron Ernest Hochedé is not forthcoming either. When Monet goes to visit his patron’s home, he meets Hochedé’s wife Alice and the series makes it clear that she will have much influence on Monet later. Meanwhile, Camille’s health deteriorates. She has always been a favourite model for Monet, and even in death he remains transfixed by the play of light on her features. The fortunes of Monet’s patron Hochedé have changes, too, and Alice and her children have moved in with Monet – which leads Degas, jealous of Monet and Renoir finally being represented in the salon with their paintings, puts a hoax article in the newspaper declaring Monet dead, and claiming he has a relationship with Alice Hochedé. Monet confronts Degas – and the impressionist movement seems to splinter…
Some thoughts on part 2
We get another episode opening with Monet on a train. Maybe it has worked out cheaper that way, but whenever I see steam trains and the name Richard Armitage on the credits, I immediately think of NS. And I always wonder whether these things are coincidences or whether some clever scriptwriter has copped on that repeating the earlier crowd pleaser is something that would appeal to the fans? Well, probably not – we are far too small a group to be recognised. But it is funny, nonetheless. And it begs the question what RA thinks about these things? Does he have the same associations? Does he ever suspect he is being used as a babe magnet?
Granted, the more I watch of TI, the more I get used to the straggly hair and the goaty beard. And suddenly Richard looks gorgeous… Especially his blue eyes stood out to me in this episode, where I particularly noticed the intense shade of blue in a number of scenes.
#gallery-0-7 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-7 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 50%; } #gallery-0-7 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-7 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
I have to admit that I am not that interested in the other painters, and that is all down to RA. I want to see Monet’s story, not Degas or Manet. Renoir is acceptable – because he is close friends with Monet and therefore likely to feature in scenes… Mind you, I thought Degas’ story is really interesting because of the connection to the ballet. How the young dancers were taken advantage of by rich men who pretend to be patrons but really only just want to get into the dancers’ knickers… Dirty business…
In contrast, Monet is clean and beautiful art. “The sun was my muse”, he explains, and that whole sequence (around 15:00) of Monet getting up early to paint at sunrise basically is the whole mini-series in one scene. He explains what is so compelling about the impressionists: For the first time, an art movement focuses on light and how it is seen depending on time of day, angle, etc. , hence Monet’s excitement and rush to paint the sunrise. Paintings are not static as such, but they now depict movement – such as the rising sun, or the whirling steam in a train station. And like its distant cousin photography, impressionism for the first time elevates ordinary people, scenes and objects to subject matters, often painting from unusual angles and communicating not just superficial beauty to the spectator, but transporting an atmosphere or emotion. This is a mini lecture on what impressionism is and how it differs from what came before.
Tumblr media
Monet worshipping the sun… reminds me of Ricky Deeming calling upon the goddess… Screenshot
That is all very interesting but what is compelling in the series remains the smile, the joy, the happiness, the energy of Monet. Always positive, always hopeful, always a doer. He doesn’t fret when he is poor and unrecognised; when he makes the sale – he spends the money on bread and cheese. And he organises a counter-exhibition to the salon when the art dealer stops buying the impressionists’ art.
Tumblr media
As has been remarked on several times in the comments to last week’s re-watch post, the show is very good at putting the famous Monet paintings into context – or visualising them on the screen. And again, this is a wonderful lesson for all art-interested people, seeing what Monet must have seen when he was dabbing the canvas and created his masterpieces.
Talking of dabbing the canvas – another point of discussion last week was a quote by TI‘s art consultant Leo Stevenson who paid Richard the greatest compliment. Thank you to Lilianschild for digging up the quote.
Some actors, like Richard Armitage, actually took to painting extremely well and painted in a really convincing manner. Others were nervous of doing any real painting and so I sometimes stood in for them in their costumes for the close-ups of ‘their’ hands painting or drawing. .”
I had a little look, and while of course it is inconclusive how much he actually painted himself, there is something about the way RA holds the paint brush. Even though he has really large hands and therefore the brush looks very delicate, it appears as if he has the lightest touch. He holds the paint brush properly and dabs lightly at the canvas. Method man is certainly convincing… Clearly some prime porn for fans with a hand fetish, as the extremities are beautifully accentuated by frilly shirt cuffs and  wide puffy sleeves.
Tumblr media
Delicate fingers…
What still irks me, is the framing action with old Monet in Giverny. And here is another reason why I don’t like those interludes: I can’t quite reconcile the happy, cheerful, positive young Monet with the old, negative codger from 1920. Old Monet seems to be scolding the journalist for every single question, always correcting him, always defending himself, always the one who knows, always raising his voice, always arguing. Never calm, quiet, benign and wise with age. He’s really not very sympathetic at all. The Four Yorkshiremen by Monty Python come to mind…
While I very much enjoyed all the shiny happy Monet of episode 2, I was also glad to see him expand his scope to some more dramatic emotions. The death of Camille is a truly touching scene – the contrast of the painter, concentrating on shapes, light and composition, seeing beauty in death, presumably, and thus immortalising his dead wife once again on canvas – and then, immediately afterwards the bereaved husband who has just realised the enormity of his loss and helplessly cries. “Jesus, he’s devastating when he cries.” is what I noted down. It reminded me why and how I fell for Armitage the actor, i.e. when he played Lucas North in the final scene of season 9 on the roof and… He needs more roles like that!
Tumblr media
Emoting something else than anger
Luckily for us, the episode did not end on a sad note. Instead we see the beginnings of the relationship with Alice Hoschedé, and that is quite beautiful, though. Possibly because it starts out without love, but a bit of a confrontation. The scene in the garden where Monet consoles Alice because she tells him her husband can’t pay him… the soft touch of his hand on her hair. She cries on his shoulder. Yes, that demands three screenshots for illustration #UncompromisingFangirlMode
#gallery-0-8 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-8 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 33%; } #gallery-0-8 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-8 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
Sure, there is the fangirl fluff again. Coupled with puppy eyes and *boom* there go my pants. But when it comes to the man who doesn’t just have a pigeon hole but a whole dovecote for poker-faced, emotionally hardened spy types, this would really be quite a departure.
So, all in all an hour happily spent watching young Monet. At the end of the episode, the tides are finally turning. Monet gets a painting into the salon. He cuts his hair. And he gets quite angry. I leave you with a derp that isn’t meant to make fun of RA – but just to make you laugh. How unrecognisable he is in that screenshot. Thank cod!

The Impressionists  part 3 to follow next week? Hopefully I will get it in – I will be travelling home to Germany on Tuesday, staying one week with my mum.
Feel free to comment below – or to write your own review on your own blog. If you do, don’t forget to link to it in my comments!

Working titles for songs
Hello, Jenny here again. My new album “Shortwave Daydream” releases tomorrow, September 8th. Since I’m bored, I’m going to talk about working titles and stuff since that interests me.
First we start with my debut release, Leftovers, with basically the entire EP being totally different. “Spacial Integrity” was originally called “Zero One”, after binary, since the EPs theme is space. I’m not sure whether this would’ve been shown as 01 or not.
The EPs second track, “Venus” (which, I should add, is not actually named after Sailor Venus), was originally titled, simply “Square” (although the file name just called it “squ”). Venus was probably the better title if I’m honest.
The EPs third and final track is titled “Breathe”, due to the calming nature of the track. The title is an instruction, telling you to just let go of everything, slow down, and just breathe. The original name for it was “Forget”, which works just as well. I do think Breathe sounds somewhat better, more calming.
We’re going to fast forward to Radio Silence, as early titles for everything between Leftovers and Radio Silence have sadly been wiped, although I do remember the (unfortunately) hit song “Superstition” had a working title of “The Wrong Religion”, which is a tongue-in-cheek reference to the fact that it started out as an attempt to make a song like Justice.
Since Radio Silence was partly made up of already completed songs (and a vision had already been planned out for the 2 EPs), only one working title exists for it, that track being “Cottoncandy”, which had the original name of “First Place”. I’m not sure what it meant, but I assume it was a placeholder, as songs titled “First Place” and “Last Place” both exist as part of the scrapped album “Dream Unseen”, and have yet to see the light of day (a track from this album that has still not seen a full release is being re-worked for the new Aithein EP, but production on said release is on a hiatus at the moment).
So we move on to the release of the album Neptune. Funny thing is, this album had artwork for each track ready, as well as tags and everything with the working titles, but then at the very last minute was changed to the new titles shown on the album now. “Atmos” was titled “Eclipse”, “Sentience” was titled “Homework” (but was changed to avoid Daft Punk comparisons), “Automaton” was titled “The Feeling”, “Time & Space” was titled “The Traveler”, and “Fadeout” had two similar working titles, which were “Outsider”, and “The Outsider”.
I, myself, seem to not recall why such changes were made so quickly, but if I had to guess, it was possibly to give the album a more “spacey” vibe.
Next up are 2 demos (since demos also need pre-release titles). These are taken from early 2019 releases. “Kia”, the SebastiAn inspired small interlude, was originally titled “SpArk”, but was changed for obvious reasons. “Slow Day” was given the working title of “Ransomware”, but the title felt too “aggressive”.
Now we move on to the new era, with “Transatlantic Opus”, which had a couple of working titles.
During the recording and cutting stages, the track was given the working title of “Lowee”, which was later given to the imprint that released various singles and imprints from “Shortwave Daydream”, before being renamed to “Loveitch Records”, after another working title we’ll get to shortly.
During the end of production of “Transatlantic Opus”, two title suggestions were made, “Transatlantic 2100″, which implies the audio is from far into the future, and “Transatlantic Tokyo”, which gives the track a setting. The track is, in fact, a bit of both.
The first single from Shortwave Daydream was “If I Fell”, which had two similar titles, which were “Smoke Room”, as the track has a “hazy” feel to it, and, carrying on from that trend, “Hotbox The Spider Robot”, named after the character from Into The Spider-Verse. Smoke Room was the main choice but ended up not being used due to possible drug associations.
The second, and main single, “Dazed & Confused” had the working title “Lucid Awakening”. This felt too bare, and so was given a second working title, which stuck. Which is annoying, because I wanted a better title. Couldn’t think of one better than either of those two.
“Internet Connection” was the follow-up single, which was a later addition to the album’s track-list, and had the working title “I Thought You Loved Me”, before a weird connection made me realize I had a better track title. And, no, this was not a connection with the person I named this after. I just made it that so people didn’t find out I made 2 songs after the same virtual YouTuber.
Speaking of, “Asobi Beach” had the working title “Gate”. No idea why.
“Narcoleptic Insomnia” was originally the introductory track, but a real intro for the album couldn’t be made using that track, so was pushed to second. The original title for it was “Wait”.
And, finally, we get to Loveitch Records.
The track “Strawberry Sunrise” had the working title “Lovelitchi”, after the tamagotchi, and also after a really good friend of mine. This was later renamed to “Love Itch”, and then to “Strawberry Sunrise” to avoid any resemblance at all. The title was then given to the imprint releasing the album, just as one word.
“Shortwave Daydream” LP releases Sunday, September 8th on all good streaming sites and digital storefronts. More info on our discord, at http://discord.io/teevex

Masterlist
I´ve been asked for a masterlist of my stuff (probably because my tumblr is a mess and finding stuff in it is difficult even for myself. Apologies XD) so here is one for those of you interested in navigating the waters of my insanity
Post War (main story)
Tumblr media
(banner courtesy of @missjanuarylily)
1998. Severus Snape has survived the Second Wizarding War.
Presumed dead, still dealing with the traumas of his past, having nowhere to go and no sense of purpose, he returns to Spinner´s End to battle his inner demons. Meanwhile, Dark Lord s remaining followers begin to regroup and plan revenge with help from foreign allies the British Ministry has never managed to track down and is powerless to fight. They suspect Snape is alive and still has sensitive information that could lead them to a powerful artifact.
To further complicate Snape´s already perilous situation, an Irish historian moves into the abandoned house next door. She brings a heavy baggage of family secrets and previously unknown connections to the magical world, and gradually becomes a fixture of Snape´s life, inadvertently changing it.

I was thinking the other day how I can’t wait to get to those Big Moments (tm) in TAZ Amnesty, like those moments where you realize that the story is bigger than you thought? And it made me kinda nostalgic for those moments in Balance and I kinda wish i could re-live them for the first time again so heres a (kinda long) list of Big Moments from Balance that had an impact on me the first time i listened.
-The end of Rockport Limited where Taako used Jenkin’s rod to send the train into Jenkins’ green house. It was the first time I think the Boys realized they had opportunities to be creative with their decisions. They didn’t have to stick to an A to B plan and it ended up being a super rad moment.
-Ending of Petals to the Metal. I mean...this one’s obvious. I just remember hearing the flourish of music as Hurley and Sloane turned into the cherry tree and I start crying like a baby and it hit me that this was not just a goofy podcast but a story.
- Maureen’s Seven Birds speech. It’s one of my favorite quotes from the show, and it was the spark of a mystery beginning to unravel. Up until Crystal Kingdom, we just thought the BoB were doing a very basic task. But all of the little hints that Griffin started dropping about the planar systems really started to set the stage for what would happen, and the Seven Birds speech really stuck with me out of everything else.
-The first Lunar Interlude where the Boys did something on their own. Just...Magnus’ training with Carey was really special, Merle’s day with Lucretia, and the introduction of Lup’s whole mystery. I really came to love these little one-off moments that Griffin and the Boys would create.
-Quite honestly just the entire arc of Eleventh Hour. Its my favorite arc, and there so many poignant moments that stuck with me. Specifically; Continuing Mystery of the Red Robes; “You’re going to be amazing”; Isaaks’ journal entry; “Junebug”. And of course June’s white space. It was so cool to see these backstories forming and to see the Boys start to connect at a deeper level with their characters. They were invested and it was so awesome to see that development.
-Waiting For the Suffering Game to End. I caught up with the show right as Suffering Game had started, so instead of binging like had been doing with the first half of the show I was now waiting two (or three that one time) weeks for TAZ to come out and it was TORTURE. But what was awesome was getting to experience the events real-time with the rest of the fandom. This was when  i started reaching out and meeting people and it was so cool to listen to an episode and then go talk about it and speculate on how our poor boys were going to make it out alive.
-Arms Outstretched. This moment was just....god it was incredible to experience. It was like the ending of Petals to the Metal times 1000.  I remember screaming in my car as Griffin was describing Magnus being thrown out of his body, and the triumphant feeling I felt at “I’ll be having my body back you undead fuck”
-REALIZING BARRY J BLUEJEANS WAS BACK. The moment Griffin mentioned a chest with the Red Robe’s belongings in it I sat up in bed and went “NO HE FUCKING DIDN’T” and my god he fucking DID.
-Reunion Tour was Rough Buddy. Everyone was afraid Lucretia was evil. Magnus didn’t have a body. Barry J Bluejeans somehow was involved. JOHANN. It was just such an emotional couple episodes and I literally didn’t know what to think and by the end when Griffin said it was time for them to reclaim their stolen century I was so blown away by the concept of Griffin keeping this secret since the FIRST DAMN ARC.
-Some bits from Stolen Century that will Haunt me for the rest of my days; The First Church of Fungston; “She thinks of her friends and she prays for sunrise”; Beach Year; “Taako you are my heart”; Back Soon; “What if she’s just gone?” “Who?”.
-And just....the finale. I feel like we waited so long to see how this was going to end and I was so terrified that something wasn’t going to be ok. I was so afraid of a death, of someone getting hurt. and yeah they got hurt pretty fucking bad and not everything is perfect but they did it. And it was just so fucking wonderful.
So this was long and more exhaustive than I intended but I just really love this podcast still and I really miss Balance, even though I’m thoroughly enjoying Amnesty. I cant wait to see what kind of impactful moments it brings us.

Lockjaw Interlude
(Dedicated to,)
unexpected,
I'm tripping,
falling into a new dimension
of reality;
then I see the forever young
and reckless,
once buried
under the burdens of secrets unheard from by the stranger;
together we became alive
breathing in strange names
exhaling our sins is now exchanging the deepest of confession, that's when lost souls become re-discovered
even without wicked necessities;
I am free in his hands;
I met my darkest fear the moment
I stared toward you as an outsider trying to make myself be seen, could I mean anything?
and you confronted me, reality;
wherever that is, my comfort is reality;
you planted bliss in my soul
yellow stones, hypnotic stare,
honesty came before sunrise
bare skin & without contact,
I understand
it was escape
back doors leading toward something,
way more sensational,
lust can no longer be a desire
it was you who gave me perspective
you brought me higher,
never doubting my addictions;
but I withdrawal no question asked,
lush even through time of less
and less words,
I'm still breathless over the beauty
of what is now written,
unexpected reality
