Working titles for songs
Hello, Jenny here again. My new album “Shortwave Daydream” releases tomorrow, September 8th. Since I’m bored, I’m going to talk about working titles and stuff since that interests me.
First we start with my debut release, Leftovers, with basically the entire EP being totally different. “Spacial Integrity” was originally called “Zero One”, after binary, since the EPs theme is space. I’m not sure whether this would’ve been shown as 01 or not.
The EPs second track, “Venus” (which, I should add, is not actually named after Sailor Venus), was originally titled, simply “Square” (although the file name just called it “squ”). Venus was probably the better title if I’m honest.
The EPs third and final track is titled “Breathe”, due to the calming nature of the track. The title is an instruction, telling you to just let go of everything, slow down, and just breathe. The original name for it was “Forget”, which works just as well. I do think Breathe sounds somewhat better, more calming.
We’re going to fast forward to Radio Silence, as early titles for everything between Leftovers and Radio Silence have sadly been wiped, although I do remember the (unfortunately) hit song “Superstition” had a working title of “The Wrong Religion”, which is a tongue-in-cheek reference to the fact that it started out as an attempt to make a song like Justice.
Since Radio Silence was partly made up of already completed songs (and a vision had already been planned out for the 2 EPs), only one working title exists for it, that track being “Cottoncandy”, which had the original name of “First Place”. I’m not sure what it meant, but I assume it was a placeholder, as songs titled “First Place” and “Last Place” both exist as part of the scrapped album “Dream Unseen”, and have yet to see the light of day (a track from this album that has still not seen a full release is being re-worked for the new Aithein EP, but production on said release is on a hiatus at the moment).
So we move on to the release of the album Neptune. Funny thing is, this album had artwork for each track ready, as well as tags and everything with the working titles, but then at the very last minute was changed to the new titles shown on the album now. “Atmos” was titled “Eclipse”, “Sentience” was titled “Homework” (but was changed to avoid Daft Punk comparisons), “Automaton” was titled “The Feeling”, “Time & Space” was titled “The Traveler”, and “Fadeout” had two similar working titles, which were “Outsider”, and “The Outsider”.
I, myself, seem to not recall why such changes were made so quickly, but if I had to guess, it was possibly to give the album a more “spacey” vibe.
Next up are 2 demos (since demos also need pre-release titles). These are taken from early 2019 releases. “Kia”, the SebastiAn inspired small interlude, was originally titled “SpArk”, but was changed for obvious reasons. “Slow Day” was given the working title of “Ransomware”, but the title felt too “aggressive”.
Now we move on to the new era, with “Transatlantic Opus”, which had a couple of working titles.
During the recording and cutting stages, the track was given the working title of “Lowee”, which was later given to the imprint that released various singles and imprints from “Shortwave Daydream”, before being renamed to “Loveitch Records”, after another working title we’ll get to shortly.
During the end of production of “Transatlantic Opus”, two title suggestions were made, “Transatlantic 2100″, which implies the audio is from far into the future, and “Transatlantic Tokyo”, which gives the track a setting. The track is, in fact, a bit of both.
The first single from Shortwave Daydream was “If I Fell”, which had two similar titles, which were “Smoke Room”, as the track has a “hazy” feel to it, and, carrying on from that trend, “Hotbox The Spider Robot”, named after the character from Into The Spider-Verse. Smoke Room was the main choice but ended up not being used due to possible drug associations.
The second, and main single, “Dazed & Confused” had the working title “Lucid Awakening”. This felt too bare, and so was given a second working title, which stuck. Which is annoying, because I wanted a better title. Couldn’t think of one better than either of those two.
“Internet Connection” was the follow-up single, which was a later addition to the album’s track-list, and had the working title “I Thought You Loved Me”, before a weird connection made me realize I had a better track title. And, no, this was not a connection with the person I named this after. I just made it that so people didn’t find out I made 2 songs after the same virtual YouTuber.
Speaking of, “Asobi Beach” had the working title “Gate”. No idea why.
“Narcoleptic Insomnia” was originally the introductory track, but a real intro for the album couldn’t be made using that track, so was pushed to second. The original title for it was “Wait”.
And, finally, we get to Loveitch Records.
The track “Strawberry Sunrise” had the working title “Lovelitchi”, after the tamagotchi, and also after a really good friend of mine. This was later renamed to “Love Itch”, and then to “Strawberry Sunrise” to avoid any resemblance at all. The title was then given to the imprint releasing the album, just as one word.
“Shortwave Daydream” LP releases Sunday, September 8th on all good streaming sites and digital storefronts. More info on our discord, at http://discord.io/teevex

“transatlantic opus” is a 27 minute art-piece produced by teevex to help reduce rapid heart-rates and relieve stress.
the track consists of various “outdoor” recordings recorded by the artist themselves stitched together, with recordings from various radio stations and a few “isolated demo sequences” from an upcoming record.
Tumblr media
the track releases in late may 2019 and is the first official release from a new teevex “era”, inspired by ‘sailor moon’ and other 90s anime.
transatlantic opus will be self-released by teevex under the ‘lowee’ imprint.

I Wrote A Series
Or, well, I’m writing one.
My teachers in college kept asking me “do you write?” or “are you a writer in secret?” and I was really confused. I’ve always wanted to write something, since I’ve had tons of ideas for scenes and clips and stuff, but I’ve always turned those thoughts off due to procrastination.
Today I decided to put my mind to the test because I was bored and it was 3am, and started writing “How To Be Evil In 5 Easy Steps”, a serial about Evelyn (that’s me!), a villain who hates the sissies who keep fighting her. She wants to branch out and be more evil, but it’s a grueling task.
The first chapter is out now via Quotev, and new chapters will be released whenever I think of a good idea for it.
You can read it here
or, you can listen to the promotional playlist I made for it here

Happy New Year from TeeVex + Friends
Hi,
It’s 2019 for me now, so I’d like to wish a happy new year to everyone.
I have some new releases and things planned for 2019, and I’d like to share them here.
- aithein’s new album ‘Tales’ is available from today, Jan 1st!
- I’m releasing a new EP on the 28th of this month which will include demos and b-sides from my album ‘Neptune’!
- I’m working on a new Lost Tapes Volume and new “dark aithein” EP for my aithein project.
- I have some other music from Neptune and Leftovers Era that I haven’t used that might end up getting released too, who knows!
And other things that aren’t related that I’m excited for in 2019:
- ‘SebastiAn’ may return with new original music this year!
- As will ‘Daft Punk’, which has been rumoured too!
- ‘Justice’ have also been rumoured to premiere a new song in April!
- ‘Quentin Dupieux’ will be releasing a new movie this year, and his music-making alter-ego ‘Mr. Oizo’ will release a new album too.
- ‘Chase Atlantic’s new EP ‘Don’t Try This’ releases later this month!
Happy New Year guys!

UN-USED ART (Pt. I)
I have found a bunch of old art concepts for music projects from earlier this year. Some of these I’m sure I’ve already posted but here it’s all compiled for ease of viewing. Will also include small descriptions about the uses for these images or why I ended up not using them.
Tumblr media
The Hertzian Oversleep (2020) - Album Art Concept
Dated August 2019, this album cover was going to be used for the EP that eventually became “Crystal Mania” - the title being a similar “opposite” to “Shortwave Daydream”. I ended up getting into a RWBY craze near the end of the year and eventually renamed the EP to what I thought was the title of the mobile “match-3″ game based on the series.
Tumblr media
Starcrossed & Homebound (2020) - Album Art Concept
Dated just 2 days after the creation of the Hertzian Oversleep EP art. I assume I renamed it a second time before settling on Crystal Mania. This “title” eventually turned into “Dreamscapes & Lost Souls” - I had a similar premise in mind, too, as I had planned to call 2 tracks “Starcrossed” and “Homebound”. The art was repurposed for the b-side “Melatonin”.
Tumblr media
Hertz 1 - “Pink Noise” (single art)
Much like “Shortwave Daydream” before it, I’d planned to give each track on the then-titled EP “The Hertzian Oversleep” its own single art. This track would eventually be renamed to “Neon Rain”, the working title of Shortwave, and the art would be repurposed into a promotional art piece for the Crystal Mania EP.
Tumblr media
Hertz 6 - You (single art)
We all know that “You” remained virtually unchanged during its creation but the amount of single art I made for it, for every release planned for it, is atrocious. What’s even more annoying is I ended up using the worst one for the single’s final release. I kick myself for not using this one, and I think it’s because I couldn’t find it.
Tumblr media
“TEEVEX 2020″ (2020) - Vinyl Concept (Side A)
Tumblr media
“TEEVEX 2020″ (2020) - Vinyl concept (Side B)
During production of Demonizer EP, I’d planned to press a lathe cut vinyl which featured both Crystal Mania & Demonizer, which was supposed to release in late 2020. This never got past planning stages, and was scrapped alongside a hot pink vinyl press of “Let Me Love You” which was going to ship with a free condom.
Tumblr media
“four.” (2020) - Album Art Concept
One of the last concepts for “Crystal Mania” before the final album took shape. All the hallmarks of the art are there including the EDEN-inspired minimalism and the inconspicuous coloured squares.
Tumblr media
“Moments of Delirium” (2017) - CD Insert
Earlier this year I’d planned to finally release my music on CD, starting with the 2020 EP duology “Crystal Mania / Demonizer” and shortly followed up by my first 3 albums. Only the 2 EPs were ever released but I got quite close to releasing Moments of Delirium - originally I’d planned to release the album in a jewel case (which is where this insert originated) but eventually moved down to a CD in a paper wallet. It eventually got shelved, before I pretty much quit physical media.
I have a lot more to talk about but I’m running out of time and motivation so I’ll probably make a second post in the future.

TeeVex - I Fell Through The Sky Into A Universe Where I Hated Everyone
The first single from The Album I Still Haven’t Named Properly Yet is titled ‘I Fell Through The Sky Into A Universe Where I Hated (Almost) Everyone’ (also known as IFTSIUWIHAE or, for ease, If I Fell).
Originally with a much simpler name (Smoke Room), If I Fell is a chill, stripped beat, a stark contrast to the harder, more “dancier” elements of the previous album, Neptune.
The tracks name is a reference to various dreams I had (similar in context to the dreams that inspired the title to the Neptune album) in which I’d wake up in the outskirts of a forest and be greeted by someone who claims to be a goddess. The title is an exaggeration as I’d only mainly grow to hate maybe one or two people in this dream, but that’s what the “almost” is for.
The length of the title is a leftover from an early concept for the album, in which the whole album was to have really long titles. Sadly (for some), the shorter titles would have proven just fine and only 2 other tracks (or one?) on the album have a lengthy title. I didn’t finish the album properly until the Monday before this track released, and had sent the song as a single in for distribution in late May.
The second planned single will be more “serious” - If I Fell was released to give people a better “ChillVex” song than the 27 minute Transatlantic Opus, since it’s been out for a month now. The second single was actually planned to be the first, but due to album work still carrying on at the time, IIF was chosen instead.
The second single’s release will mark the official beginning of the TeeVex Second Album era, whenever that is. It’ll be the “Holdmetouchme” of the album. Release dates are still unknown but due to Summer break beginning, expect it pretty soon because I’ll be bored as fuck over these holidays.
Stream “If I Fell” on Spotify: https://play.spotify.com/album/6OHxyEjMt8zsZJyJXAO6Fq
“The TeeVex Chill Album” is inspired by lo-fi songs, 90s anime, and ‘wholesome Discord friends’. The album is releasing in 2019.

“The New TeeVex Project”
hey
sorry to bother you and basically beg for money, but:
i’m planning a new ‘neptune’ phase for 2019, and for it to work properly i’ll need new gear for promotional stuff. mainly, a hoodie worn by the main character of the game the album is based off.
it’s 43 fuckin pound and i’ll need your help getting most of that money (be that £5, or £10 idk).
if we get it together, i’ll make sure to attempt a new album for this year.
if the hoodie gets here, i’ll be forcing my older brother to shoot a vlog where you’ll see the hoodie (with me in it!) and the two of us will do some stuff together (as well as teasing the new music i mentioned before).
if you can’t donate to “the new teevex project” then dw, just reblog. paypal.me/teevex is the link for donations.
i know this seems super stupid but it’s the perfect getup for the album and i hate asking my parents for (basically) cosplay stuff.
