This is a piece about chronic fatigue although the original idea i had for it drifted a bit as soon as I started coloring the linear #(i really enjoy shading and lighting things and got a bit carried away here but i stand by my choice because this is my favorite thing #that i've ever drawn)#anyways. i often feel especially lately with school being back in season that my bones are leaden with this sort of. weariness. theyre heav #it weighs on our mental health and energy a lot and although there's a couple of reasons we have been given for it #that doesn't remove the fact that this is still a thing that affects us in a very real way day to day although we are good at masking it.#often i come home to find that i do not have the physical mental or creative energy to work on things i really want to #especially project: nexus which i feel extra bad about even though i can't help it because i just started it so recently #it is a mild to moderate struggle to make it day to day and i just. wanted to represent this somehow #my original concept for this was a skeleton with some black goop gunk whatever leaking from its joints #but as i started adding the cracks and coloring them gold (a personal touch; kintsugi is a concept that is very dear to us)#i realized that the focus here was less on the condition itself and more on the body that it afflicts.#so i put it into a spotlight.#ironic i know since very little people acknowledge this irl or even know it exists at all but i added rim lighting. I added color gradients #I colored the lineart and made it all fancy and even added a flare for the head to get the point across that even at its core; disability i #a performance. this is not implying that disabilities are fake in fact this is the opposite of that. i wanted to show that with disabilitie #especially i think in my personal opinion the invisible ones #we are all masking at least a little bit during the vast majority of the day. humans are social creatures and it is only when we are alone #or with someone we deeply trust where we allow ourselves to be who we truly are without fear and even then that can be rare #so i wanted to show this bit of the soul in as broad a limelight as i could. idk this is a really abstract piece and i dont know if anyone #will even get it but it matters to me at least. and even though we've been largely bedridden for the past week i think that's okay #we will get it figured out. all of us. okay? okay. i love you. i fucking love you. we are going to fucking make it #(also the xes over the eyes are because i thought they looked cool they have no deeper meaning at least i think they dont #actually i think they do but i cant put it into words idk. Art is subjective assign your own meaning i'm gonna go get a shower)

Terrible rushed picture on the way to work this morning but look at this bag i crocheted for my not-really-boss-but-she-is-in-charge-of-many-things-but-not-me-specifically-as-far-as-i-can-tell. She was super excited by all my bags i kept bringing and always complimented them and said she wished we had time for me to teach her to crochet, and i am just so unused to the relentlessly nice compliments that i ended up crocheting her a bag. You cant really see it but it has a white base as well. And its the closest i could get to rainbow colors (she is, as far as i can tell, the type of Ally TM who puts rainbows on everything), so it seemed a safe color scheme. Anyway when i gave it to her today she was speechless for a few seconds and then started punching the air

So, seems like a successful gift

#shes great #i feel like if id known her when i was a teenager i would have decided she was my mom lol #as it is im just generally delighted by her #crochet #grocery bag #rest of my day was unbelievably bad and tomorrow will probably be worse but this was a high point #also got to paint a little plate ! i did strawberries on it #dont know how itll turn out until its fired and it might be a while till i get it back sadly #but it was really nice #im trying to focus on the nice parts of my day bc if i dont manage to unclench my jaw soon i think i might break a tooth #couldnt sleep last night either bc i could not get any of my muscles to relax. to an insane degree #anyway. strawberry plate. and it has little hearts on it and i painted the rim to kind of look like rays of sun in the sky #i havent really done any non textile or musical art in years but the stuff ive tossed together for kids in arts and crafts #has been surprisingly good and fun and made me want to pick up painting or drawing again #havent yet bc horribly busy but my last day is tomorrow. so

Yes it is more Pacific Rim AU.

It's not that Reggie is clumsy. It's that they work with giant, complicated, mechanical machines consisting of countless of little gears and levers and scary hydraulics systems. There's always a chance of getting hurt! It's not like he's actually out fighting monsters like the others, though.

So how is it that he's the one who ends up at the medic bay most often?

Today wasn't even a work-related accident. Or it kind of was, but...

“How did you manage to set fire to yourself with a sparkler?” Ray asked gently, bandaging up his arm. It wasn't a particularly bad burn, or anything, he'd managed to strip off his overalls pretty quickly. Sadly, he hadn't won any points in his competition with Flynn to make people swoon. Apparently, seeing Reggie in just a tank top and boxers wasn't very swoon-worthy if it's preceded by screaming and yanking off burning fabric.

"There may or may not have been some jaeger fuel soaked into my sleeve," he admitted sheepishly.

Ray gave him a severely unimpressed look. "Next time, change out of your uniform before you go to a party," he said. He ushered Reggie towards the waiting room where his friends were waiting. He'd told them not to come, that he was fine and they should keep partying, but they'd insisted.

"Besides, Julie likes you in that red flannel," Ray said casually, before opening the door and shoving him into the waiting arms of, well, Julie.

Thankfully she was too concerned about him to notice how red his cheeks were.

My friends make fun of me for buying 3 and possibly 4 versions of the same movie on blu ray but I show them the special features for free AND I can keep a copy at their apartment so I hope those heathens appreciate me and my obsession for media preservation and behind the scenes stuff

#I stg all of my hobbies are like the most expensive ones #Like dinosaur toy collecting and comic books and blu ray collecting #my special interests out here trying to bleed me dry #anyway I got the pacific rim 4K UHD disks and then I found the steel book for a reasonable price #but then I also wanted the deleted scenes which were only on an older version of the 3 disk collection which i found for pretty cheap #BUT there’s like half an hour MORE behind the scenes stuff on the Asian market so I’m searching for a nice copy of the JP blu ray for cheap #I just think this stuff is fascinating #That’s why I’m going into vis dev lol maybe one day I’ll get to be on a special feature

i’m superrrr picky abt glasses but every time i get new ones i try something totally different from what i did the last time

#personal #my favorite were my last pair (green) but they sadly broke #this pair is clear (first time) and thick (usually i go wire rim except the top like a ray ban style. shapes vary)#i’ve done square and cat eye but this time i’m doing more of a rectangle #and usually i make someone come w me to give opinions but this time they cancelled on me so i had to do it alone which i don’t love
