I've been debating on if I wanted to say something about this or not, but I realized that, in the end, nothing is going to change unless someone says something. And if y'all have an issue with what I'm going to say, I will be open to talking about this--with the understanding that its a good-faith discussion.

People active in this fandom nowadays are so ready to call others out for anything from using AI to posting a picture they found on Pinterest. And I'm not saying that this stuff is okay, but I really think people need to reconsider putting others on blast for something as minor as one or two social missteps. Calling someone out shouldn't be used in situations like these, because all it's doing is publicly shaming them. Calling someone out (or shaming them via anon messages) is incredibly hostile and in the end just encourages people to stop interacting with the community entirely. I'm not even the target of these messages, but y'all are making me feel like I'm being watched what I say and do, else I'll be the one to get anon messages about me next. 99% of the time, calling out should be used when other (more private) messages have been ignored or the situation simply isn't safe.

Calling people out and shaming them for doing something they might not understand the nuance of is making this fandom an unwelcome space. Other creators have left the fandom and consciously decided not to come back because of behavior similar to this or being taken for granted. I've decided to stop writing simply because of the way people have treated my work in the past. Going to an anon blog and shaming someone, or making a post not naming names but being really obvious about who you are talking about, rather than actually talking about it, is making RA a hostile community.

In the end, if you have an issue with someone, or feel like there's some social cue that they missed, just message them. Publicly shaming them and starting arguments is not going to solve anything, but rather chase people away.

And for what it's worth, this is not the same for if someone is being openly, violently bigoted. Call someone in, privately, for missteps or genuine misunderstandings. Call someone the fuck out if they're being a violent bigot or if they're ignoring other calling in messages.

I have trouble picking between the eevee idea and them being gifted pokemon by their mentors. Let me know what you think!

when people say they can't get obsessed with female characters because there aren't enough good ones, I simply don't believe them because there are literally hundreds of fics about the guy in The Force Awakens whose only role is to cringe while Kylo Ren trashes a terminal with his lightsaber. at that point you're basically making up a whole guy.

This is his first official full appearance in the fanfic for Bound by Chaos. Silver and Espio are in a relationship- they parted ways in the past and are finally reunited.

In my universe, a harpy song can only affect those who are pure Mobian. Any other race or half race won't be affected by their spells.

I turned Wave into the main harpy that was in this chapter.

I came to the realization a while back that for some reason at least one character in every piece of media I ever hyperfixated on has died and come back to life at least once, so I figured why not pit them all against each other!

Something so so so special about the trope of a group of characters that are a Team. Even when every character has a distinct personality, they still can't be separated from the idea of their Team, and no matter who the most popular is, each member of the Team has a fan following, and everyone who enjoys that media can list their favorite member of the Team. I love it so much I love Teams of characters

The Solisian Rangers are a government agency, sure, but they're like the post office.

When you need magic, you go to a Sorcerer or a Wizard. When you need something fought? A Fighter or a Barbarian, surely. Even nature can be handled by a Druid. Ranger's aren't anybody's port of call.

And a whole agency full of them? They're better off handing out fines to campers.

Useless.

Useless until the sun goes away for months. Useless until they're only people who bothered to learn the Daylight spell. Useless until they're the only people who can grow your crops and give you light so you can see.

While the rest of the Government waited around for the sun to return, the Solisian Rangers mobilised. They were the ones travelling to the more rural areas of Solace and making sure the farmers were alright. They were the ones rescuing people who couldn't see well in the dark, setting them up with magic powered lights. Defending those who couldn't defend themselves from what lurked in the dark.

While everybody else sat on their hands and waited, the Rangers acted.

Nature. Magic. Fighting. All at once.

When the world stood by, the Rangers acted.

They would never let themselves be underestimated again.

It’s so funny to me because I’ve only been on tumblr like a month and I got it for the rangers apprentice content (because god knows that the fandom is nonexistent elsewhere) and I can recognize users and profile pictures. Like I don’t know these people personally but I notice every time they like a post because there’s only so many of us and only so much content FOR consuming. I go on Pinterest and search the rangers apprentice and go “Hey, I’ve seen that person around!!” I have never spoken a word to these people in my life yet I know who they are and that they, too, are obsessed with a stupid fantasy series for middle schoolers
