the thing about bakoda. is that even if they didn't get rid of bato (the fact that they DID is proof of what i'm about to say) they would not have made it gay because that episode/tension that would ensue is actually too good. like it's Too thematic. these new showrunners would not... they would not be able to juggle katara's "why are you trying to replace My Mom bato?!" and sokka's "so what does that mean for my concept of masculinity then?!" in a way that brings the story to a new place while honoring the original. it would be awesome if they could. but. alas.

it kind of weirds me out when two people who abused lloyd (morro and harumi) are getting more recognized/hc'ed and addressed as his family than the actual one (ninjas, wu or HIS PARENTS). it's okay to make au where they didn't abuse lloyd or whatever but then you just write a new character.

One of the best things about the various iterations of tmnt is how different yet similar each variation of the brothers is. None of them are better than past or future versions, they just go about the same things in their own way. None are abusive, none are perfect, they’re all brothers with their own set of weaknesses and their own set of strengths.

Each variation has some eye brow raising moments where you’re like “hey that one went a little too far there-“ but nothing makes them irredeemable or bad brothers. They’re just brothers - and family isn’t perfect.

Oof, yeah. I think people can dislike whatever they want, whatever their personal relationship is with how they interpret and consume media is beyond my control (WITHIN REASON...!!!). Which is also why I'm like sure you can express that dislike... that is human... but at least be considerate about it haha.

A lot of what people dislike about ♣️🌹comes down to personal taste or straight up projection because that is an insane thing to claim lol. 'Coded' lost all its meaning to a lot of people who really mean 'this is what I want their relationship to be'. In general I don't like to box relationships into certain labels (mother-son... really man...) because I feel like it can be pretty restrictive to how you approach nuance like how do you look at Trey and Riddle and go oh their relationship is the epitome of nuclear family dynamics, actually.

dinner guest back again; so out of touch with at-large fandom… I had no idea people hate furina. people… hate furina????? she’s my favorite girlfailure theatre kid. I started playing the Archon Quest the night 4.0 dropped, and as soon as we met Furina I fell in love with her. She was so much more charming and quirky than I’d even anticipated going into it, and tbh every single scene with her made me laugh. She’s FUNNY! So I’m sure you can imagine the shock on my face when I eventually took a break and went over to twitter, and I saw a bunch of people talking about how she was annoying and saying they already hated her. 😭 Some of them were like “it’s not bad that she’s annoying, but —“ and it’s like, idk why you hate fun so much but okay!? And it seems like it’s just gotten progressively worse over time. The way I’ve seen people absolutely shitting on her just to say she’s not the actual Archon while insisting that Neuvillette is — even though he already flat out told us he’s not!! — and saying she’s a bad Archon or she doesn’t deserve to be one. SHE IS TRYING HER BEST! LEAVE HER ALONE!!

i rewatched chicago (2002) for the first time in years. and how the hell did glee think it was a good idea to have lea michele do nowadays/hot honey rag, a primarily DANCE number. lea is one of the worst dancers on the show, and they know it, that's why they purposely hide her in dance numbers. i refuse to rewatch the gcv, but i still remember being horrified by how clunky and awkward rachel was. and now seeing the movie version again it makes me mad, because catherine and renée did such an outstanding job. they should've gotten brittany and tina, two women who can actually dance. or mercedes and santana. or quinn and kitty. or literally anyone else. i'm thinking about lea's attempted cartwheel and gagging.
