What would your own Nightopias look like and what kind of Nightmaren would live there?

I used to have a few figured out for aesthetics forever ago (like, a decade easily), but none of them were ever actually reoccurring and were just cool one-off dreams I had one time. While I'm still fond of the concept of Serenity Island (take the play island from the Destiny Islands from Kingdom Hearts and then hollow out the underside of the island and put a really cool hollow coral save in there), and Frozen Hill has some neat art potential (being a snowy nighttime winter scape with a frozen over lake and a snow covered massive jungle gym and playground structure and lots of pine trees), I'd probably adapt one of my more reoccurring dreamscapes instead.

Since I gave Shay the giant Toys R Us (which has an arcade stapled onto it that will probably be relevant later), that leaves my other commonly reoccurring locations as the hotel/water park hybrid (that said arcade connects to) and a giant mall complex that either has an underground section or connects to an underground section. Given that I am very bad at names, I've just been calling these Lucidia Mall and Lucidia Hotel. (Personally, going by what I've been operating on for my own fic lore, I'd probably have a blue Ideya and a white one so running on the 'one level per Ideya not counting red Ideya up to a max of three' that leaves me with two.)

The mall is a complex that seems to go on forever, varying from about three to five floors, sometimes more with a very high ceiling. There's at least one really cool water fountain and a bunch of stores. It's not based off of any one mall in particular but has the vibes of about three different malls I used to go to frequently/went enough to know roughly what's there I've been to plus a lot extra. The stores connect in completely illogical ways and there's a store for about everything. The only ones I can really think of that stick out are the jewelry/shiny objects store that somehow goes on for two floors, the scale broken store that vibes roundabout a JcPenny's/Bed Bath and Beyond/similar department stores. Let's call the underground section as connected. It vibes with the energy of a Japanese market side street with lower ceilings and a general vibe. But I remember having a dream with a really rad buffet. Chinese buffet level stuff but with way weirder foods (blueberry syrup tea comes to mind along with ice cream shaped into roses). This would probably be the white Ideya aligned Nightopia.

The hotel is a mix of a giant indoor pool/water park complex and an outdoor one that may or may not have a zoo attached to it? I vaguely remember a dream where loose zoo animals were a theme. But yeah, giant water park, huge slides all over the place and lots of pools. It has an arcade in the basement. Of the two, this one works better for an actual Nightopia if we're talking in terms of level design before more space to fly around it. One of the hot tubs is super deep and has the stained glass motifs from the Stations of Awakening from Kingdom Hearts. Generally a cool place to vibe. Blue Ideya associated because water motif.

Nightmaren-wise? Spiders, definitely spiders. Not canon to the games but I've got arachnophobia for those to be a thing. Aside from that uh. Not really sure? I don't really have a ton of phobias that make for good specific Nightmaren. Maybe the scorpion ones because arachnids are kinda freaky. Maybe moths. The water park would probably have the slightly freakier fish-based Nightmaren. Maybe some Shleep and Kircle for the hotel for obstacles in the outdoor section. Zero idea for boss Nightmaren, I'd probably have to make original ones and I don't have the brainpower for that right now lol.

I guess I gotta actually give these things names because of the games uhhhhh.

Let's go with Shining Mall (since the ceilings are all arched glass and the overall vibes are VERY bright) and Hydro Hotel. Level titles of ~The Infinite~ and ~The Vacation~ respectively.

London Tourism: Winston Churchill Edition

History has a big role to play in London tourism, with Winston Churchill one of the most iconic and well known names from 20th century politics. In his role as Prime Minister, Winston Churchill had a major impact on the way that Britain was run during WW2 with his time as a wartime leader and figure in Britain making his presence across London something that is still recognised today.

For those visiting London to get a flavour of the city’s history, here are some of the places to add to your list which are directly linked with Churchill – the first of which is located a stone’s throw from The Queens Park hotel.

National Portrait Gallery

Home to portraits and paintings of some of Britain’s most distinguished names, leaders, and celebrities, it follows that there are a number of paintings and statues which depict Winston Churchill to be found throughout the gallery. From those which he posed for, to those done from memory or from existing portraits, the culmination of artwork showcasing Churchill throughout his life and career make this a great attraction in which to immerse yourself in the history of the former Prime Minister.

Churchill War Rooms

Located on the very site of the war rooms in Westminster used during WW2, not only have these war rooms inspired movies and television programs but they are also an iconic stopping point for history lovers – surrounded by convenient double room hotels for London tourists.

The war rooms remain as they were during the war, presenting a network of underground spaces which include the map room and the various rooms where Churchill and his team directed the war effort.

Another part of the Churchill war rooms experience includes the Churchill museum, which allows visitors to see love letters between Winston and his wife, artifacts, cigars and the possessions which epitomise the life of the leader in one place.

Westminster Abbey

A well known London landmark located within close proximity to the top hotels near Paddington London and other central spots, Westminster Abbey not only hosted a number of ceremonies and events which Winston Churchill himself attended, but is also where a green marble commemorative stone is laid in his memory. The stone, laid and unveiled by Queen Elizabeth II in 1965, commemorates both the life of Churchill and the war effort in which he played a significant role.

House of Commons statue

The House of Commons is one of the most famous places where you will find a status dedicated to Winston Churchill, with visitors staying in one of the nearby twin room London hotels able to see both the Churchill arch and the bronze figure statue where it stands by the Commons entrance arch.

So much of Winston Churchill’s time in Parliament was spent in the House of Commons, with Westminster Hall beyond the arch also playing host to a memorial plaque in the spot where Churchill’s coffin lay upon his death.

Beyond these most obvious stopping points on a historical tour of London through the eyes of Churchill, visitors can explore many other sites and landmarks that played a part in his leadership. Let us know where your tour takes you!

just a little something for the darling @yournowheregirl to wake up to! it sounds kinda dumb and insignificant, but i always appreciate your tags in the fun tag games that come across your dash and for always being one of the first that ask something from those ‘ask me’ posts i reblog! it makes me feel appreciated and i am super grateful every time 🥰🫶🥹

There was meant to be two beds.

Steve specifically got a double king room for the goblins, and another room with two queens for him and Eddie.

So of course as soon as they got into Milwaukee the night before the D&D themed nerd fest, the (actually very nice) woman at the front desk says: “We had to swap around the rooms, but the two will still sleep all you boys, don’t worry!”

Whatever. That’s fine, right? They’ll all have a spot to sleep the next two nights they’re here for the kids’ (and Eddie’s) dragon game convention.

He gets back to their rented minivan and passes the key cards to Eddie in the passenger seat.

The van was just the first point of contention between him and the kids’ beloved Dragon Meister, followed closely by…everything else.

The first thing Eddie said when Steve showed up in the rented van was “King Steve is coming along on our journey?”, to which Steve could only respond with “This ‘super cool’ guy you assholes have been going on about this whole time is Eddie “The Freak” Munson? Really?”

Following closely behind are: the tapes and tapes of loud garbled ‘music’ Eddie insists on playing, his absolutely tragic way of unwrapping Steve’s burgers for him when they stop for lunch, the wariness Steve has in the first place about this being the guy Dustin wouldn’t stop talking so highly about…this nerdy, obnoxious, third-time senior…great.

“204 is the Hellions’ room, 207 is us.”

Eddie bends an arm backwards into the feral beast enclosure the second two rows have become over the last six hours and Steve’s surprised he still has his hand when it returns to the front.

Steve gets the van parked in the hotel’s garage, and they head up to their rooms.

“Alright, assholes,” he says to the somehow still rambunctious masses, “This is you guys, Make sure you’re up by eight so we—“

“Yeah Steve, we got it,” Dustin scoffs, “As if we’d risk being late to this.”

Steve rolls his eyes with a “Fine, goodnight.” and shuffles the few steps across the hall to his and Eddie’s door, leaving the troops to file into theirs.

The only thought in his head is of laying down and getting the fuck to sleep. It wasn’t even that late but—

“Oh you’ve got to be shitting me.”

So that’s what brings them here. To their one barely queen sized bed.

“I guess I’m on the floor then, huh?”

“I’m not about to let you sleep on the floor.”

“Oh, the King has chivalry does he?” Eddie rolls his eyes and throws his duffle onto the armchair in the corner.

“As much as you, asshole; I just want you to have the energy to corral the gremlins tomorrow.” Steve scrubs a hand down his face. “Look, we’ll just deal with it tonight and I’ll get another room tomorrow.” he lies. As if he’s got the cash for that.

Eddie looks him over, and seems to come to whatever conclusion he needs to because he says “Fine, but you better not be a blanket hog.”

Eddie’s the worst blanket hog Steve’s ever had the displeasure of knowing.

He thought Robin was bad, but this is something else.

Eddie’s fully a burrito within an hour of laying down. After a hearty, but silent, game of tug of war over the worn duvet.

Steve falls asleep angry and cold, and wakes up on a cloud.

He’s so warm and so entangled in the comforter, he can’t help but snuggle deeper into the pillow he’s clutched onto.

The pillow hums back at him and scoots itself under his chin with a sigh.

Steve squeezes tighter onto the pillow momentarily, but his curiosity of why his pillow’s making noise gets the better of him.

He cracks his eyes open, looking down at the thing in his arms.

It shifts as well, and Eddie Munson blinks up at him with those (holy shit…beautiful, deep, dark) doe eyes of his.

“Hi.” Steve breathes.

Eddie’s eyes flutter shut, and shuffles himself back into Steve’s neck.

Steve chooses to blame the still sleepy bit of him for curving himself back around Eddie.

“How’d you sleep?” Steve whispers into the now-bared hairline under the other man’s bangs.

“Fucking amazing…” Eddie mumbles, snaking an arm over Steve’s waist and settling a hand in the middle of his back. “How ‘bout you, Stevie?”

“Stevie, huh?” Steve chuckles.

It’s only then that Eddie seems to come to his senses, his head shooting up before he scrambles away, falling straight onto his back between the opposite side of the bed and the wall with an “Oof!” and a “Fuck!”

“Oh shit!” Steve shuffles off the bed and helps Eddie back up, ”You alright, Eds?”

“Yeah..yeah, I’m fine..” Steve gets Eddie back on his own two feet and (reluctantly) lets him go once he’s stable.

‘Reluctantly? Why reluctantly? What the hell??’

“Sorry I was all over you, not the greatest thing to wake up to, huh?” Eddie says, huffing a sardonic laugh under his breath.

Steve hums nonchalantly, “It wasn’t all bad, I slept pretty fucking amazing too.”

Eddie hums an acknowledgment, then: “I wouldn’t—“ Eddie starts at the same time Steve says “I should—“

“You go ahead,”

Eddie’s hands come up between them, spinning the rings on his fingers nervously. “I was going to say that…I.. Iwouldn’tmindifyoustayedtonight..too.”

Steve blinks. “Good thing I was going to say that I really should save my money.”

Eddie’s smile is slightly nervous, but there’s a hopeful tinge to it that Steve can only assume means what he thinks it does (hopes it does).

“Leaves me with more to spend on the Gremlins, right?” he shrugs.

Eddie beams. “Glad to know we’re on the same page, Harrington.”

Surrounded by Ice - Kimi Raikkonen x FigureSkater! Reader

Plot: The Iceman just surrounds himself with Ice in every aspect of his life

A/N: Just a short little Kimi drabble, more exciting stuff coming soon, just been swamped with Uni!

"How does it feel to bring home a gold medal for your country, again?" the interviewer asks and a big grin appears on your face.

"I mean, i love the sport and I've worked hard to get where I am. I think this year there were many other contestants who also deserved gold and everyone who took part today were amazing!" you keep smiling, it had been a really amazing set for you today. You'd even broke some records while here.

"And now what is your plan?" they ask holding the mic closer to you.

"Well my husband is waiting for me, just over there. So i think he wants to give me his congratulations" you say pointing out our stoic looking husband who was waiting in the background, keeping to himself watching the world go past.

"Ah yes, Kimi Raikkonen! The Ice Man, who arguably married Queen of the Ice" he jokes making you laugh a little. You had heard similar jokes many times since you'd married Kimi.

"Yes, obviously being here in South Korea for the Winter Olympics has been amazing, and I'll be sure to train hard for 2022 but now I'm needed to go support my lovely lovely husband in his fast cars" you exclaim, knowing that the Australian Grand Prix was round the corner.

"Ah yes, it's looking like a good season for Ferrari! And we can tell from your outfit today they already have your support"

"My support is for whatever team my husband is in, so Ferrari have had my support since Kimi has raced with them!"

You left the interview thanking your team before finding Kimi waiting for you quietly.

"Home?" you ask and he nods silently grabbing your hand and pulling you out of the arena.

"You were fantastic today!" he smiles, holding you and pulling you into a kiss.

"Yeah? You liked the new twist i did?" you ask, your routine today being one of the hardest you'd ever done. You mascara had infact started to run, from the sweat building on your forehead throughout the day.

"I like everything you do"

You guys both went back to the hotel, packing up all of your gear that had been here for the past month you'd stayed in Korea for. Once you were sure you hadn't left anything behind you made your way to the airport.

Kimi now only had a month until Australia, his personal trainer had come with you to Korea to help him train while he was out there supporting you.

Now, you'd train while you were travelling with Kimi. Finding ice while on the road with him was always difficult, but finding places to just work out and keep your fitness up was never hard as you'd train alongside Kimi. It was one of the ways to spend extra time with him during the season when he was most busy.

In the free month before Australia you started your research on where you could go in Melbourne to skate, you found somewhere that Kimi was happy with you going too as it wasn't too far from the hotel you'd be staying in or the race track for if anything went wrong.

"Will you watch me on the Sunday though?" he'd asked you as you were both lying in bed the night before you were due to fly to Australia.

"When have I ever not?" you ask, turning over in bed to look at him.

"Hmmm, I can for sure think of one time..." he smirks looking over you.

"If your talking about China, almost 10 years ago that doesn't even count!" you laugh, poking his cheek a little.

Your husband never failed to amaze you, his striking blue eyes and his soft blonde hair was what initially drew you in. But it was your first interaction with him that made you fall for him fully.

It was the Autumn of 2008 and you were 22 and you had just won your second Gold Medal in China, you'd stayed there for the months after the games as they left the Beijing Olympic Park open and it seemed like a good place to stay and to train.

You managed to get tickets to other sporting events in the months you stayed there such as Snow Boarding, Golf but the best one was when the Chinese Grand Prix came about.

You were active on the socials you had back then, and so it wasn't hard for Sauber BMW to reach out to you and give you a guest pass.

You'd been walking round the paddock, just investigating when you'd bumped right into the Finnish Ferrari driver. He had just stared at you while holding a tight grip on your wrist so you didn't fall over.

You remember him asking if you were okay, and some other questions that you hadn't heard fully as your brain had gone foggy at the sound of his soft, yet deep voice.

It was a little embarrassing, when he'd tried to speak Finnish to you, and then decided on English, but with no reply he was left stumped and awkwardly standing there.

He'd soon left after that but you were on each other's minds for the whole day. You tried to keep up conversations with the BMW drivers Robert and Nick but your mind kept drifting the the Finnish Driver for Ferrari.

He found you after the race, and just stared at you for a while before you made the first move speaking to him. And the rest was history.

You spent the next 5 years together as partners, it was convenient for someone like Kimi who raced all through the year apart from summer and winter to end up with someone in a sport who only competed for a month in the summer and winter. It meant that they also still got a break with each other.

After 5 years, Kimi let the big question unload and now you'd been married for 5 years.

"Of course, my love! You know that!" you smile, pulling him closer to you. You tuck yourself into his surprisingly warm embrace, considering his nickname was 'Iceman' he was the warmest person you'd ever had the privilege of meeting.

"I was thinking ..." he breathes, his voice a little higher and whiny than normal.

"Mmmmm, you don't do that often?" you tease, a hand running up and down his back.

"Well, I'm the ice man, your the Ice Queen... i was thinking maybe it's time we have an Ice Baby?" he whispers in the softest most unsure tone you'd ever heard.

"You think now's a good time?" you ask, and thinking about it... it was. You yourself had two years before the next Olympics in 2020, and Kimi was at a point in his career where he could leave and live comfortably if he needed and wanted to.

"I haven't told you this, but they want the Sauber kid in my spot. I'll be going to Alpha Romeo next year. I feel like I've done what i can and I've had my time in the sport... and we aren't getting any younger. Especially me..." he jokes, being 44 now.

"Mmmmmm I think now is the perfect time" you smile.

Flash forward to the Austin Grand Prix and you were 6 months pregnant. You'd already announced it and so many people were excited for you and Kimi, through the season he had loads of interviews. All against his will of course but people saw a different side to him when he talked about you and the soon to be baby.

It was a great race for Kimi in Austin, he pulled through with his first win of the season, valuable points that helped contribute towards his position in the drivers standings.

"So Kimi, first win of the season today! How are you feeling?" an interviewer asks, he was sat in a panel with some of the other drivers in a debrief.

"It was good to get a win, this season has been tough. We've had an interesting year with veteran drivers like myself, Seb, Fernando and Lewis being pushed by newer or younger drivers who are proving to be good competition like Charles, Max and Pierre" he answers.

"There have been rumors that you wont be here with us next season?" he pushes and Kimi roles his eyes.

"If I'm not it's not an issue... racing is my hobby that i get paid to do. I'll leave when i want to" he admits without letting anything slip that Ferrari wouldn't want to come public knowledge.

"Lets move on to you Lewis..."

And for the rest of the interview all he could think of was coming back to you.

Once your daughter was born in January before the start of the 2019 season and Kimi moving to Alfa Romeo everyone on the grid wanted to meet her. So of course, you were obligated to come to Australia for pre-season testing. Your 3 month old being so intrigued at the busy rush of everything around her.

She was a fan and driver fav around. Everyone had a picture with her and introduced themselves as her uncle and that they would look after her. People like Lewis, Seb and Charles all came with little gifts for her, Seb even had someone make her a custom team Ferrari top so she could fit in with her father and her Uncle Sebastian.

"Today was amazing!" you sighed as you leaned into your husband who currently held your daughter against his bare chest.

"Mmmm, I think you should both take a break though, at least until Summer break and join me afterwards" he smiles, knowing that the heavy time change from Monaco to Australia wasn't good for your or the baby.

"Well, I may as well come to Bahrain with you... its on the way back. But I will leave after that" you smile, pulling him in for a kiss.

"I love you, thank you for giving me this life" he smiles looking between you and his daughter.

"I wouldn't have it any of way" you grin.
