Just acquired these awesome pieces of movie history from Christopher Nolan's 2008 masterpiece, The Dark Knight! These bills were used in the production of the film and were a part of the Joker’s massive mountain of mob money.  While the generic “Beaumont” bills were burnt to a crisp (though this one made it out unscathed), other $100 notes were printed specifically for the movie, and can be seen facing the camera in the money pile scene. 💵

Not that I think losing crime is bad, but it certainly would be interesting to explore the financial consequences to a massive city like Gotham where crime does pay for half or more (of everything) and drives the local economy, as partly illegal shipping for gangsters also moves legal products to buyers. As Batman succeeds and dismantles these power structures and pseudo industries, what happens to the city? Is there even a way to disentangle all of it from the corruption that runs it (seen when Jim Gordon has to hire cops investigated by internal affairs because they've all been investigated).

Would Wayne Enterprises just have to fill in all the gaps? WE shipping, catering, et cetera to replace lost jobs and income? Or would Batman have to reckon with the fact that he can't shut down everything? At least not as bluntly as he does.

Headcanon that directly behind the painting of Maleficent in Crowley's office is a painting of Meleanor. It's the only painting in the school that can't move or speak bc Crowley can't bear having a fake version of her so close by. He'd rather have her there physically once more already—but that's a process that takes time, so until then, it's just him and that silent image of her.

Sometimes it encourages him, seeing her face. That's his flower of evil all right, regal and lovely through and through. He can't wait to see her again. Though getting everything prepared for her revival is taking a while, he's far from lonely. She's still very much alive and well in his memories, and she'll be alive and well in the flesh soon enough.

Other times, though…having that painting of her there, still and silent as the grave, might be worse than having nothing there at all.
