Pride month may be over but around here we are proud 365 days a year! New recolor of this magnificent hair mesh created by Leah Lillith. Her hairs are always stunning and I couldn't resist making a pride recolor of Stargirl.

Being the maximalist I am I wanted to have a whole rainbow of different pride hairdos for my sims. Comes in a wide variety of flags and interpretations that results in some FIRE hair colors. Representation includes trans, bi, pan, intersex, aro, ace, asexual, demisexual, genderqueer, gender fluid and many many more!

custom CAS thumbnail & work with hats, applicable to all genders and body frames. Works best on sims with chest sizes towards the smaller end of the spectrum.

美容師も利用者も「自分らしさ」を発揮できる世界を！「#PrideHair サロン」プロジェクトとは？

こんにちは。

株式会社ANヘアサロンの広報スタッフです。

ダイバーシティ化が進み、ジェンダーにとらわれない社会が拡がってきた昨今。

SDGsの第5目標「ジェンダー平等を実現しよう」にもあるように、全ての人が性別にかかわらず平等に機会が与えられる社会づくりが求められています。

芸能界でも、ブレーク時から「ジェンダーレス男子」として注目を受けているryuchell（りゅうちぇる）さんは記憶に新しいかと思います。実際に街中を歩いていても、中性的な見た目の人が増えている印象を受けますね。

しかし、特に日本は世界的に見ても、ジェンダー平等について発展途上だと言われています。

そして美容業界にとっても、ジェンダーレスは課題の一つです。

自分らしさを表現するうえで重要なヘアスタイル。「人は見た目が9割」と言われたりもする中、家庭でも職場でもない「第3の居場所」としてヘアサロンの必要性は高まっています。

一方で、ジェンダーを理由に、ヘアサロンに居心地の悪さを感じる人もいるのが現状とのこと。

全ての人にとって居心地のいいヘアサロンを実現するにはどうしたら良いのでしょうか。

そこにメスを入れたのが、P&Gジャパン合同会社の展開するヘアケアブランド「パンテーン」が始めた「#PrideHair サロン」プロジェクト。

「ヘアサロンが、より居心地良く、自分らしい髪になれる場所になること、そして、ひとりひとりの個性が輝く社会へのきっかけづくりになること」を目指して発足したそうです。

パンテーンの調査によると、ヘアサロンで自分が本当になりたい髪をオーダーできなかった経験を持つ方は75%もいらっしゃるそうです。そのうち6割近い方が「自分のセクシュアリティを伝えることで通いづらくなりそうだから」を理由として挙げています。

そしてこういった悩みは、LGBTQ+当事者の美容師にとっても同様。社内の理解が進まずカミングアウトをできずにいたり、気を遣われることで居心地の悪さを感じたりしている美容師も少なくありません。

ところで、そもそもLGBTQ+とは何なのでしょうか。

性のあり方を考えるにあたって、「からだの性」「こころの性」「好きになる性」「表現する性」という性の4要素が重要であると言われています。

それらを踏まえ、

・「Lesbian」：女性として女性を愛する人

・「Gay」：男性として男性を愛する人

・「Bisexual」：男性も女性も愛する人

・「Transgender」：「からだの性」と「こころの性」の間に違和感がある人

・「Queer」：性的少数者／「Questioning」：自身の性のあり方について考え中

・「+」：他にもさまざま

それぞれの頭文字をとって「LGBTQ+」という呼び名が使われています。

また、2019年にLGBT総研が約43万人を対象に実施した調査では、およそ10人に一人はLGBTQ+にあたるという結果が出ています。それほど私たちの社会においてジェンダーレスが当たり前になりつつあるのです。

そんな中「#PrideHair サロン」プロジェクトでは実際に以下のような取り組みを推奨しています。

問診表の性別記入欄の撤廃

初来店時に記入するカルテ。多くのヘアサロンでは「男・女」という選択肢を設けていますが、LGBTQ+の人からしたら何を選ぶべきか悩ましいポイントです。ヘアスタイルは性別関係なく個人の自由だからこそ、そもそも性別記入欄をなくしてみることを推奨しています。

またヒアリングの際も、先入観を抜きにして「どのような髪型をイメージしていますか？」と質問するのも良い取り組みでしょう。

だれでもトイレの推奨

男性用／女性用とトイレが分かれていると、外見とからだの性が異なる方はどちらを使うべきか悩んでしまいます。新しくトイレを設置するのは容易ではないため、まずは片方のトイレを「All Gender」の表記に変え、男女兼用にすることから始めてみると良いかもしれません。

雑誌の配慮

美容師が用意してくれる雑誌。あくまでサービスで準備さ��ていると分かっていても「自分はこう見えているんだ」と感じる要素のひとつとなります。利用者の外見で決めるのではなく「何を読まれますか？」と一言声をかけるだけでも安心感を与えられますね。

接客時のコミュニケーション

日常会話でも会話の糸口として、何気なく「彼氏／彼女はいるんですか？」と訊ねることも多いのではないでしょうか。しかし恋愛対象が異性ではなかったり、そもそも恋愛をするのが当然ではない方もたくさんいらっしゃいます。そしてそれは、利用者から美容師への問いかけも同様です。自分の価値観を前提に話すのではなく、相手に合わせた話題や表現を意識すると良いかもしれません。

ヘアサロンは利用者にとって「第3の居場所」だからこそ、利用者にとっても美容師にとっても居心地のいい場所であってほしいと、強く思います。

株式会社ANではプライベートサロンの場を提供していますが、

New Pantene commercial interviews Japanese transgender people about the challenges of job hunting

In a new campaign in Japan Pantene draws attention to the challenges trans people face when applying for jobs.

Some say that multinational companies using trans people in their marketing are just doing it for the profit. That might be. it is hard to know what is going inside such companies’ marketing departments.

Still, the purely commercial aspect does not change the fact that these commercials may have a positive effect on the way cis people see trans people. In Japan Pantene is now marketing their shampoos by drawing attention to the troubles trans people may face when applying for jobs.

GaijinPot reports that #PrideHair is a multi-channel promotional campaign, launched on September 30, that features transgender models on billboards in Shibuya and Shinjuku Stations in Tokyo, as well as in TV ads.

Pantene’s Japanese Pride Hair web site gives info on the challenges trans people face when applying for jobs. (English Google translation here.)

This TV ad is not bad at all. It present trans people as real people, humanizing them in the eyes of others.
