This blog gives 2013-2017 MH fandom times. Things have really changed since then, Jesus 😔
Very true! But the past is the past, and some change is to be expected. The climate/level of activity in the fanbase has certainly mellowed out, but, in a lot of ways, I think that's for the best. New people will always find their way here and contribute their own creations. Along with that change has also come a radical shift in the fandom's attitude towards things which were previously pretty mildly unpopular (EX; queer headcanons, radical acceptance of mentally ill characters without demonization). Overall, I would say the progress within the MH fandom has been pretty overwhelmingly positive. Of course, though, I miss certain parts of the old days.
Hi everyone, this is mod Jay, I joined back in mid-2022, so it's been around 1.5 years as a mod on this blog.
Unfortunately, I've decided to leave, since I haven't been able to contribute for a long time, due to Life™️. It's unfair for me to take up space I'm not using, so I'm just saying a formal goodbye.
Huge credit to Rob especially for running this blog so smoothly and giving you all regular content. There's a ton of great resources and posts here and I recommend looking back at all of the mods' hard work, there's some great stuff in the archives as well as the recent things.
I wish you all the best, and I give thanks to all the other mods and everyone who follows this blog for being a great and supportive community :)
I guess this can count as a Rentry or Carrd graphic? I made it for myself as page deco on one of my other blogs and was inspired by a lot of people in the rentry graphics tag lol. I've never made something like this before, but it was fun, so I'm not opposed to doing more lol!

(Un)Friendly reminder to antis and anyone else that boundaries are things you set for yourself. Rules are things you set for other people. “I’m not comfortable with [subject]” is a statement. “I will not discuss [subject]” is a boundary. “No one gets to discuss [subject]” is a rule.
(“No one ought to discuss [subject]” is a moral position, but once you try to enforce that on other people, you’re using it as a rule.)
There are places it’s okay to set rules- “no one gets to say slurs in my discord server” is a rule, but as the server owner it’s your prerogative to make that rule. But they are rules, not boundaries, and they should be treated as such.
Boundaries have (and should have) a special place in the current social sphere. They’re inarguable in ways that rules are not. But it’s not okay to abuse or dilute that definition for your own self by labeling all your rules as boundaries so you can be not just upset but wronged when someone breaks them.
Hey all, it’s been a while! Sorry for the radio silence. Our head mod had to step down, and I (Jay) have taken over.
We’ve managed to get things back up and running, and the project is now live on BigCartel! Unfortunately I haven’t been able to share news here until now, so there’s only just over 10 days remaining for pre-orders, but there is still time, and we’re a little over halfway to our funding goal! Pre-orders will close on December 1st at 11:59pm.
We have had to drop stretch goals for now, but we hope you will still enjoy the deck!
What it says on the tin! With the approaching 15th anniversary, we're interested in the prospect of a 2024 exclusively Marble Hornets zine, and are looking to gather feedback on how interested some of you might be in participating.
