I’m building an ACOTAR theory but I have to finish TOG, reread the ACOTAR series, and finally get around to ACOSF and HOSAB before I present my thoughts in full detail. It’s been on my mind since July 22nd. There’s a google doc filled with pictures and ramblings.
Just know it’s related to Amren, ACOTAR 6, and the portal that opened 15 thousand years ago.

The 'Es is Mikoto's younger sister' crack-but-not-really theory post
@74n5n don't say I don't do things for you.
This is mainly a joke theory I thought of randomly but when I thought about it more there was actually a lot of evidence for it so I'm going to compile a list of it here.
They have similar appearances, doen to their ahoges. I reblogged a post earlier about this one.
Es is a similar age to what Mikoto claims his sister to be (early high school age)
Mikoto calls his younger sister brilliant. I don't know about you but I consider memorising large sections of law, psychology and philosophy to be pretty brilliant. They canonically "have a thirst for knowledge" and enjoy learning about new things and may possibly be the most learned person here despite having thr least amount of lived experience.
Es refers to themself as 'uchi' in his second voice drama, which a less formal and more childish pronoun rather than 'boku' like they usually do, which may indicate dropping their guard in front of him and becoming more comfortable around him. This is the only time they refer to themselves as that. (Credits to @/somokoto for pointing this out.) (Side note: it is somewhat amusing to me that the characters Es seems to be closest to are the ones voted guilty trial 1.)
The rest of this is mainly behavioural similarities which isn't actually evidence and more so parallels but I'm going to list them anyways.
5. Both are prone to overworking themselves.
6. Both are a lot stronger than they appear to be. Mikoto is "a normal man with average build" yet he is the 3rd strongest prisoner out of the lot. Es and Kotoko both point out that their physique is not very strong yet they fucking knocked Kazui off of his chair. Sure, he was taken by surprise, and they were quite panicked, but Kazui is heavy and Es is tiny. They should not have the muscle to do that from their appearance alone but they do. They could probably vault half of the prisoners across the room and they wouldn't be able to do anything about it.
7. Onto the last point, both (well, John more so than Mikoto, but he is just a different aspect of him) have violent instincts, which is something they share with many others and is likely the result of forgotten trauma.
8. Both have identity issues and dissociate.
9. Also I believe in the "Es committed a murder in the past" theory so that in this context is very funny. Siblings who kill and then forget about it entirely separately.
Like, I do not believe thus will actually happen because I'm not sure where to fit that in narratively and it seems like a pretty big reveal to just gloss over, and also you would think Mikoto would recognise his own younger sister (unless he's been away from home for that long and hasn't been able to return, which, given his work situation, isn't entirely implausible), but it would be wild if it were to come true.

the reveal in unmortricken that universes outside the central finite curve are just... inventing interdimensional travel all the fucking time is absolutely insane. like we know the central finite curve is just a tower the ricks built to place themselves forever on top, but the sheer number of people who have invented portal travel in other universes is completely mindblowing to me. all the portals are different styles, different colours - are these all different inventors across different collections of dimensions? it's unregulated, it's rick-free, it's only shown for like 30 seconds throughout the episode, and it's not even mentioned. i know we already know this, but rick sanchez really isn't the unique genius he pretends himself to be.

was thinking of hollow knight lmk AU and realized another vessel parallel Bai He and LBD she was BEGINNING to fail as a vessel until she possessed Wukong but even then she was still stretched out too thin I feel like this means something but idk what
The body or "vessel" being too weak to contain her power....sounds a bit familiar doesn't it:
If I had a nickle for every time a main antagonist cracked apart while fighting a monkey demon, I'd have two nickles—which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice.
But here is the thing—Jade Emperor Azure also parallel's Possessed Wukong. So we have 2 instances of successful containers (Mei for the Samadhi fire and Wukong with LBD's power), and we also have 2 instances of failed containers (The little girl for LBD's power and Azure with the Jade Emperor's power).
And you know who else is struggling to be a container for their power?

But nah, as of now I see Gabe as an only child. I’ve played with him potentially being related to the 302 lady cause I thought it was funny they both had fluffy hair- but he’s an only child.

I think Cedric and Calamus should be friends and join the club of teenagers with way too much weight on their shoulders because holy shit they deserve good things.
I mean, one of those small details that I always felt were kind of sad was that line Cedric has about not knowing Calamus or Alula... which makes sense in a way, because it was the Author who knew them better. And yet both Cedric and Calamus feel close in age and have similar personalities I am genuinely surprised they weren't friends.
And now considering their circumstances... Both of them need to be the proactive sibling, ready to react to situations that are beyond what teens like them should be doing.
We... never get told what happened to Rachis, although context probably tells us he was one of the NPCs lost to the squares. But even if Calamus and Alula were not aware of that truth, they're both still functionally orphans, and Calamus has made it his responsibility to make sure Alula is okay because she is all he has left.
Cedric is one of the few people aware of being in a simulation, and this by itself is already really isolating. Cedric is also the one responsible for... pretty much ensuring that Niko made it to the city and fulfilled their mission, having to make up plans as he goes. Not to mention the knowledge that his father is gone for good now, and the grief that is tied to it.
And besides all of this, I just really think that these two are alike in personality. Both are really polite, hardworking and responsible. The only big differences are their sets of skills and that Cedric is more willing to take risks on the spot, while I feel like Calamus would be more cautious in his place.
But gosh they could be good friends.

considering how they went about song reveals last season they will probably tell us what happened to make Yoko go her own way as a leading lady of the new band and why she's not a part of Ink Theory anymore (or maybe she is and it's just a rebranding, considering gold is a key color in Ink Theory's costumes)
But a part of me kinda wants her to have to have left because she ended up dating a member of Bottom Feeders and the rest of the girls kicked her out

thinking about the fact that william is.. genuinely cursed. he only became a hero because he was outting his family and friends in danger by staying in deadwood.. but its not like supernatural creatures have EVER followed him around? yknow it always felt to me like the prime forceor watch or whoever decided william needed to be around powerful people because that way they wouldnt get hurt but. they have NEVER been attacked. sure theyve had villains and now demons but they arent singling out william.
