Haha I HOPED MY TRICK WORKED FOR WHAT CHARACTER I WAS DOING 😂

No I need LEGEND angst but in crack style because I haven’t wrote it in a while and I just NEEEEEED it so here it is:

His hair was getting long again.

The seasoned hero noticed it for some time now, yet the blade of the scissors never called out to him until now. Maybe he should give it a trim. Maybe he should fix it up. Maybe- just maybe he should heal.

The memory of the last time he got his hair cut was still clear in his mind, ringing through his brain like a village’s bell. The love that he lost, along with the memories that he gained.

It was a bittersweet moment indeed.

“Seriously vet, quit sulking in your sadness, it’s getting boring.” One of his fellow fairies chimed, the youthful voice melting into the breeze, “And your hair is a mess, even I can see that.”

“You’re right, it’s making my eyes bleed,“ and there’s the captain, the adventurer rolled his eyes as Warriors continued his monologue, “Listen, you need it fixed.”

Legend wanted to agree, he really did, but part of him just couldn’t let go of the memory. What if he loses her in his heart as well? “No.”

Well, Hylia clearly had other plans for the fairy, as he was quickly prompted onto the ground, hair washed through ice cold water and brushed to the best of his capabilities.

“So what are we thinking?” The traveler, much to Legend’s surprise, pulled out a pair of scissors, why did he have those on him?

“I’m sorry, but you are doing my hair?”

“Cooking isn’t my only forte.”

That was enough to make Legend quickly pass the scissors to the smith, “You work with blades, you do it.”

He could hear the ‘rude’ that followed his demand, but if they wanted him to cut his hair, his brothers better deal with it. “Oh I would love to,” Four’s tone dripped with sarcasm, “but you haven’t even told me what you want.”

The veteran crossed his arms, “I don’t care, just put it in a ponytail and chop it for all that it matters.”

“I’m not doing that,” Four rolled his eyes, hands reaching out to the hairbrush, “And plus, we need to properly brush it first.”

The brush combed through his hair.

“Ow.”

It combed again, albeit lighter.

“Ow.”

It slightly grazed onto the locks.

“Ow.”

Four breathed.

“Ow-“

“Just shut up or I’m making you go bald.” The smith slightly shoved the other, “You’re lucky I’m even doing this.”

“Okay, okay,” Legend bit back a bitter laugh, “Just don’t cut my wings by accident.”

“You know that’s impossible,” Four started to section off the hair, tying it in place with some elastic bands, “I’m giving you layers to add some volume onto that thinning hair of yours.”

“Hey! Are you saying I’m balding?”

The smith just grinned a very mischievous grin and chimed in confirmation.

Two broken hair brushes, a pound of dead hair, and 5 ‘oops’-es later, the veteran was left with a nice short, organized head of hair.

It was never the hair lost that would make him fear of forgetting, or perhaps it was, whether or not, one thing remained true,

It can’t fully grow without some of it being chopped off.

still believe that the funniest most incorrect thing i got wrong about disco elysium before playing it was thinking that jean was the union leader. that he was evrart claire (or edgar claire). or alternatively that he worked in the post office or something.

#i avoided reading anything about the game for like four years because i didn't want to spoil it for myself #and i did a great job at it i guess because i literally had no idea the game was about investigating a murder like wow that was a plot twis #anyway #the mental process behind it was:#i saw jean in the gomf video and he looked like a post office director so i kinda accepted that he must have been that #but when i started playing the game i noticed there was a suspicious lack of post offices #on the other hand there was a big talk about the union leader and since i had seen that bitch of jean a lot i thought #he must be relevant so it must be this main guy from the investigation #but then i met evrart and i was like so maybe he is the second most relevant union man?#then i met jean and couldn't stand him and didn't speak to him through the game <3 #the end #he would be better as a post office director anyway #it's personal tag again

you know what if making will a villain means that he doesn’t only exist to further the boring corny overdone straight relationship then hey i’m all for it and yea i absolutely will support all of his actions no questions asked. just give him some valuable crucial screentime and a plotline with an arc that actually surrounds and is about him and not other (straight) people please oh my god. i know it’s SUPER hard to write gay people and not revolve everything in their storyline around straight people but it never hurts to try.

revisiting the "bodies with no faces" argument to prop up a faked corpse theory is. hrm.

#umineko liveblog #thinking back to the first twilight and how everyone except for two people had their faces destroyed #which leaves you with two options. either suspect krauss and/or shannon or suspect everybody except those two #battler's thinking pushes you to the four but none of the siblings or gohda really indicated the ability to do a murderscheme like this #shannon almost definitely knew more about the witch narrative than she let on #but that makes it clear she was killed by mistake and was probably intended to survive for longer than she did #krauss is sly enough to maybe do the fake death thing #but he's not in on the witch narrative so there's no way he could have done any of this #and there's no way genji would permit number one failson supreme to survive #going to the other four. gohda is not relevant enough for this kind of plotting #rosa's character arc was tied up with maria and not the wider series of murders #rudolf had unfinished business with that 'i'm gonna die' thing we never got resolved #but i think if anything that mystery'll tie into solving the epitaph's riddle rather than the actual murder stuff #and kyrie was a tutorial character there to introduce some of the story's themes #she was a little sly and calculating but her whole thing was about how status triumphs over smarts on rokkenjima #so really none of the dead six fit a culprit profile nicely even if it is plausible

The Ruined pizzaplex is steeped in death and disrepair, it’s almost to the point that when the others are finally Meteor-ed, they don’t even know if they’ll survive escaping the damn place. None of them know, it’s a death trap. I don’t even think some of them expected to live for long after they escaped

But then they do, and they’re in a completely unfamiliar world that’s saturated with life and it’s unlike anything they’ve ever been exposed to before. Fazent always carried that touch of death, yknow? They never knew any different.

But then they claw their way into the light and someone is wrapping a blanket around their shoulders and giving them a bottle of water and asking if they’re ok because they must’ve just been Changed, they look so disoriented, and they don’t know what to do.

But they have each other, they’re *alive* again. The scars will never go away, but they have each other, and they desperately hope that’s enough.

The Plex is dead. It's stagnant, forever unchanging and is left to rot like all the other bodies under the floorboards. Those that remain are rotting and hurt, discarded like broken and unwanted toys and abandoned in the ruins of what is the only world, the only home they've ever known.

... But it's not dead.

How can it be? They're still there. They're still alive.

And like a phoenix rising from the ashes, they'll realise that for themselves and start laying the kindle for their fire.

also: i just finished n*torious sorcerer, and enjoyed certain aspects of it but was left unimpressed/unconvinced by others (longer letter later on this, maybe? no promises tho), which i guess makes it yet another addition to the growing list of m/m tradpub fantasy novels i wanted to love but ultimately didn't, quite? part of me is honestly starting to wonder if the capacity for love is burnt out of me, although that sounds awfully dramatic and i quite frankly think it's equally possible that we're just getting more and more writers coming up by way of fandom and that it's eaten particular, recognizable sorts of holes (ha) in their skillsets...

#i mean—i don't know‚ that may be confirmation bias #it's not as if writers who didn't cut their teeth on fandom are universally good at‚ say‚ establishing worldbuilding #and not just sketching it out suggestively and relying on readers to supply what's not stated #(also like. at some level good worldbuilding can be sketched out as long as the sketch is *sufficiently* suggestive. sargent style.)#(and certainly overexplaining can easily sour into exposition dump. but like. you know what i mean maybe.)#or at writing women #(and actually on that point i thought this book was notably more successful than‚ say‚ meadows' or rowland's most recent efforts)#(still a bit unbalanced in that there were arguably four major characters—the central m/m couple and then a pair of sisters—#and the men had their arcs‚ i thought‚ much more resolved than the women did)#(in fairness i think the 'gotta leave something for the sequels!' factor may be relevant there)#(but—idk. something to be said abt priorities and whose stories we feel it's necessary to resolve at least the opening act of #vs whose stories we think we can leave in-progress and still feel as though we've tied up enough loose ends to have a satisfying book)#anyway—i hope obviously!—i'm not saying writing romance between two men is somehow an intrinsically misogynist move #but like. esp if you're writing something that's got a plot bigger than just the romance‚ i do feel like you ought to have women characters #and they ought to be given enough weight to feel like full people‚ even if they're full people we aren't focusing on #or otherwise spending a ton of time with #i don't know. i don't want to carp about any of this. i want to be magically presented with stories i love #where i don't feel the need to start squinting suspiciously at aspects of them because they've successfully convinced me #i wish i could tell whether the problems are with what i'm reading or with me :/#(very possibly both. road to el dorado gif only it's the dark version so no one has a goatee.)#bookblogging #you may have gotten the impression that i love to be a hater but i'm actually very tired of it #would love to be transported actually! cue patrick wolf the days
