my favourite part of stormbringer [aside from any part that chuuyas in] is how adam and verlaine are quite literally opposites. verlaine isnt human [i believe he is human, but its not confirmed so yeah] and neither is adam. they both want to protect chuuya but thats about as far as their similarities go. verlaine thinks that being born without the love of god/a mother/whatever the fuck he said im too lazy to re check my sb novel means that he is 'different' to everyone else, and that the fact that he was born was a mistake. adam, however, absolutely loves being inhuman. although their 'births' were EXTREMELY different, adam seems to view inhuman beings as superior to humans, due to lack of imperfection etc, etc. the point of stormbringer [or what my dumbass concluded from it] is that despite chuuya and verlaine being born from the same set of instructions [yes, i still think theyr both human], they have very different views of humanity. verlaine was constantly dehumanised by pan and whoever the fuck else was there with him, and he still has those memories [im betting that chuuya probably wouldve remembered his past too if rimbaud hadnt opened his seal because verlaine remembers his [i mean his time at the lab thing mostly]] chuuya was dehumanised by N, but he doesnt remember any of this happening. Chuuya says he was 'blessed', and in a way he was, because he had it instilled in his head that he was human and never doubted that until Verlaine, whereas verlaine always believed that he could never be human. anyways back to adam and verlaine, i feel like saying chuuya doesnt believe hes human at any point after stormbringer completely ignores the entire point of the novel. adam says to chuuya that being able to protect him was enough, something that was said from his HEART [HIS HEART, PEOPLE. dr.wollstonecraft said he was programmed to make decisions for himself, literally like a human]. it didnt matter whether or not adam was human because he was programmed to do whatever he wants making him human-like. i think its mainly BECAUSE of adams existencs that chuuya doesnt care whether or not hes human, because adam was so real to him, and he loves adam [platonic obviously i am no freak] regardless of what he is. NOT TO MENTION,,,,, during the epilogue chuuya says that he couldnt care less about not knowing if he was human or not, because his body is HIS. every part of it. he learnt that it didnt matter if he was human because he would always still be himself, and im so proud of him for that. i wish verlaine couldve learnt the same thing but like chuuya said, he was just dealt an unlucky hand.

some of yall really need to learn how tags work. i get wanting exposure, clout, and all that. but yall got to understand that it's a FILTERING system. some of us for example, have a certain ship tag blocked bcs we hate it. but thanks to some art works, and posts that despite featuring literally neither of those characters, USE THE SHIP TAG. it's counterproductive.
