#artists on tumblr #illustration #animated illustration #animation #backgrounds #animated gifs #background illustration #myillust #landscape #plants #scenery #summer #hiii! just wanted to share an artwork i made that's super fresh from the oven ksfknsf #'the wandering painter' will be a series that consists of artworks that has elements that i struggle to draw and am trying to improve on!#ive always really struggled with the process of painting (for example) clouds fields grass grasslands flowers etc #despite the end result coming out satisfactory imo but i cant deny that it most of the time feels like a fluke #so this series would consist of my journey of improving how to draw said elements/areas more confidently :D #this artwork in particular - i studied and practiced how to paint/draw silver grass better along with grasses and clouds #i feel like im sorta getting the hang of it but theres definitely room to study and experiment how i can paint it better #so yeah! nonetheless i really hope you'll like this! and i hope you'll have a lovely day/night ahead <3333

Every week I watch the new Frieren episode, and every week I go a little insane over all the moments Frieren and Fern have in the OP and ED. (This is just the second opening and ending, I'm not even going to touch the first ones.)

The outro is even better. Frieren starts off alone.

She's lying by a gravestone, at night.

Then we have the section with the sculpted figures. Frieren reaches for a blue flower- it hasn't bloomed yet, but any blue flower is going to bring to mind the Blue-Moon Weed, Himmel's favorite flower.

There's been a butterfly following Frieren around for a while. It lands on the flower.

Himmel has an association with butterflies, since there's one on the ring he gave Frieren, but Fern arguably has a stronger association with them. Fern's butterfly pin makes an appearance earlier in the outro, and the pin transforms into the butterfly that follows Frieren.

We also have this shot of Fern and many blue butterflies in the intro.

The butterfly and the blue flower transform into a girl with long hair and a long dress. The sculpted figures are almost completely white, so we don't see Fern's distinctive purple hair, but the figure resembles her regardless.

The line of the song that plays when the butterfly and the flower transform into Fern is: その涙だって大丈夫きっと夜が明けるよ "It's okay to cry, the dawn will surely come." This is a line referencing past grief but also showing hope for the future, and it's so poignant that it occurs while a symbol representing Himmel (past) and a symbol potentially representing both Himmel and Fern transforms into Fern (present/future).

Finally, we get a beautiful shot that starts on a blue flower, now fully opened-

and pans up to Frieren lying down, like she was earlier, but this time on Fern's lap.

It's daytime now, instead of night, and if the image has retained its quality, you might see Frieren has the most unbelievably tender expression on her face.

What this tells me, is that Frieren absolutely loved Himmel, in her own asexual-aromantic elf way, and that she also loves Fern, in much the same way.

I've been noticing Himmel and Fern parallels all over the place and I barely get into any of them here. If I included every moment in the actual show where it's obvious how much Fern and Frieren care about each other I would be here all day.

Tree-Born Beings in JTTW?

Upon meeting the Monkey King, the Patriarch Subodhi asks him a number of questions, including his surname (xing, 姓). Monkey confuses this for an inquiry into his temperament or nature (xing, 性):

"I'm not speaking of your temperament," the Patriarch said. "I'm asking after the name of your parents." "I have no parents either," said the Monkey King. The Patriarch said, "If you have no parents, you must have been born from a tree" (Wu & Yu, 2012, vol. 1, pp. 114-115). 祖師道：「不是這個性。你父母原來姓甚麼？」猴王道：「我也無父母。」祖師道：「既無父母，想是樹上生的？」

The part in bold really interests me.

The possibility of something being born from a tree is the first thing that comes to Subodhi's mind. Remember that the Patriarch is an enlightened master with knowledge of a great many things. Therefore, within the novel's universe, this might point to a category of spirits born from the flowers and/or fruits of trees. Just imagine the possibilities for fanfiction!

This reminds me of Momotarō (桃太郎, "Peach Boy") from Japanese mythology. Like Monkey, he experiences a supernatural birth from a spherical object and later becomes a great hero who battles demons with the help of animal friends.

#cant believe i missed this one when i specifically rewatched the whole season for this :')#trigun #vash #vash the stampede #trigun stampede #trigunedit #mine #gif:trigun #so i thought the reflective effect appeared in more episodes but it was only episode 1 #and then it kinda reappears when vash is not vash anymore in eps 11-12 #the first episode had a lot of bright lights (desert sun and then the lights from the plants)#which made the reflection seem natural to happen but it was interesting it happened quite a lot as a storytelling tool almost #like it helped to push across this introduction of vash bc at first we dont know anything about him (first time fans like me heh)#so they hide his eyes in important moments including his first appearance #and it goes possibly for how that reflection is how vash doesnt know meryl or roberto yet so it takes a while for him to trust them #and see whats their deal #i like that 7th gif with comparison of rosa beside vash.. you can see her go on a whole journey with just her eyes #but vash's thought process is hidden until the last moment where he doesnt want to fight the julai guys who want to take him #the last one is so creepy.. he's an empty husk! there could be pain or numbness or multiple other emotions in his eyes #but the glasses put them behind a barrier and only the movement tells us more that hes floating there trapped emotionless #its so sad.. uff i love this show

I’m not sure if this has been asked yet but what was Sofi’s past like? Was it normal for the most part, was it traumatic, or somewhere in between?

Sophie was a student doing her master's degree to become an art teacher! She always loved teaching something new, especially art. She loves art and has an eye for beauty and nature is very fascinating for her. Huge nerd of National Geography ✨

Before she got thrown into the JTTW world she lived alone in the student apartment because she likes to be alone despite being a very social person. Her relationship with her family is pretty normal and she doesn't have a tragic backstory. Obviously, sad things have happened to her but those are what most people experience at some point in their life.

I personally wanted her to have a pretty normal person bc I feel like many characters have tragic backgrounds. I try to challenge myself to have a character that can be somewhat interesting without having dramatic background :)
