Their pet demigods. This has been in my head for like three days.

this is strange. and exciting. And that's a good thing. Jupiter wants to capture every moment of this in his mind. Hold hands and do not kiss, lie down next to each other, belly to belly, do not touch with your hands, light kisses on the temple, cheek, forehead, crown, soft hugs on the shoulders and lie on each other's lap. It's much more than just friendship, but less than romance, Jupiter is still amazed by this closeness, and that's more than enough for him. Perseus is beautiful, but Jupiter does not want to share a bed with him, instead he hugs him around the waist and rests his head on his shoulder as he prepares cupcakes in the kitchen to give them to a young single mother who recently moved into his apartment building. And they hardly talk. Although they don't need to talk, Jupiter understands too easily when Perseus doesn't want to hug, Perseus understands when Jupiter wants a kiss on the forehead. They drink champagne on Friday nights, watching some silly romantic comedy, Perseus' laughter sounds soft and unobtrusive like the first song of spring birds, their hands sometimes touch it causes pleasant goosebumps, Jupiter reads Percy aloud, Percy sings to him. They fall asleep under a warm blanket, lying incredibly close, it is pleasant to feel Perseus' warm breath on his nose. This is good, incredibly good, but Jupiter understands that he is not enough and that he is not the one who is needed. Perseus is getting better, but he still locks himself in the bathroom and sits there for hours clutching Jason's photo to his chest. His quiet sobs make Jupiter's nonexistent heart bleed. He finds a solution pretty quickly, it's simple, time-tested and correct, Jupiter is sure of it. During the next winter solstice, he asks Pluto, who is surprised, but quickly agrees and gives the order to Mercury. Mercury brings the treasured bottle of shining golden liquid a few weeks later. And Jupiter gets to work - it's difficult, especially difficult because it's not the essence of his divinity, but the essence of the soul and the divine principle of his son, labour lasts all night. The boy, blond, with pale smooth skin, so similar to Beryl and possessing wonderful eyes of Perseus, makes his first cry along with the first rays of the sun. Jupiter does not show any feelings for him, does not hold him to himself and does not calm him down, he does not belong to him, although he wants to - he just wraps the newborn in a soft blanket and puts it in a basket. Perseus first presses the baby to his chest and then raises gentle, somewhat melancholy eyes to him. He had already accepted that he would most likely become the father of a demigod. Jupiter shakes his head, No, he's not ours, he's yours and Jason's. Perseus changes before his eyes, his face brightens with happiness, his eyes become many times brighter, a wide smile oozing with delight dissects his face, he sobs, kissing the baby on the forehead. Jupiter is leaving, there is no place for him anymore, the time they spent with Perseus is over, now there is only a small family of a young father and a newborn son, he has a grandson and needs to come to terms. The storm is raging from his suppressed feelings, Juno is waiting for him in the bedroom, she is full of determination and tenderness at the same time, it is strange and similar to Perseus. "This is our boy," Juno says, taking his face in her palm, "Mine, yours, Jason and Perseus, he our boy."
Hey, hello! could you please rate and voice your opinion about my letter - beginner anon.
Shared parentage is an awesome way to go. I’m slightly concerned for the baby because of al the gods involved in his creation but Percy has always been deserving of fatherhood.
Juno and Jupiter being soft in the boy who’s technically their grandson would be adorable but Percy would probably defend the baby with everything he has.

The Seven, gathering: Hey Juno.
Juno: Ah, I see you all fell for my ruse.
Jason, confused: What ruse? You asking us to go on a quest, and us saying yes?
Juno: Oldest trick in the book.
Percy, also confused: Asking someone to do something?
Juno: Exactly.
Leo: And then them doing it?
Juno: Precisely, yes.

Sometimes I think about how people rank Jason as their least favorite because he’s “such a bland character with no personality”, but was he even allowed to have one in the first place?
He’s two years old when Lupa guides him to Camp Jupiter. He’s brought up to be the perfect soldier, the perfect Roman, the perfect hero. He doesn’t know life outside the legion. He’s the son of Jupiter, he has to be great. If he’s not, he’s a failure and a disgrace. If he is then he’s still not the best because there so many other heroes who did it better than him so he has to keep trying harder and harder even though no matter what he’s never going to be good enough because the moment he slips up he’s no longer the perfect hero.
The few times he actually tries to do something he wants, he’s only cut down. Changing the 12th legion to the 1st legion? No, you can’t do that. It’s tradition. You’re wrong. That’s stupid. Joining the 5th cohort? Why would you join those losers? You’re only hurting yourself. You could be great if you join the 1st cohort instead like a good Roman boy.
So why would he try to do anything that cultivates his identity? Why would he try to do anything that brings him joy if everyone around him is just going to suck it right out?
He has no best friends at Camp Jupiter. He has acquaintances. He has people he’s friendly with. Say what you want but Reyna was a coworker. Dakota was cool, Gwen was nice. But none of them make Jason want to stay at Camp Jupiter instead of Camp Half-Blood. He thinks of Reyna but only in terms of he doesn’t want to saddle her with the responsibility of picking a new praetor. He thinks about duty. When he is picking between the camps he’s weighing his options between doing his duty as he’s done his whole life or picking himself for the very first time ever and he picks himself.
And it’s honestly so fucking depressing that the first time Jason picks himself and is actually supported in his decision happens when he is sixteen years old. And most of the people supporting him have only known him for a month.
But then he saddles himself with duty and responsibilities because that’s all he’s ever known and Percy is dying and Jason is a good Roman and a good hero and his job is to sacrifice his life for everyone else because of course it is. So he takes on Pontifex Maximus to build shrines and temples to minor gods and goddesses (not that they shouldn’t be honored but… once again he’s sacrificing his identity for the good of everyone around him).
And then, just as he’s finally discovering an identity for himself—he likes physics, he’s learning about the mortal world and living in it, he’s becoming more than just Jupiters son and Juno’s perfect hero—he’s killed.
Jason never got to be Jason. He only got to be Jason Grace, son of Jupiter, Praetor of the 12th Legion, slayer of Krios, one of the Seven, Juno’s Champion, Pontifex Maximus. He always belonged to someone else and never himself.
All this to say, Jason is my favorite of the Seven and although he’s not the eldest nor a daughter, as an eldest daughter I relate so hard and feel very seen in him.

actually lol the story playing out as it does but after Annabeth reunites with Percy, he looks behind her and is very quickly, "where's grover"
cue depression that some other satyr is joining them on this quest instead of Grover, who obviously decided not to come get Percy himself because he hates him
("percy, he doesn't hate you, he's just busy preparing trying to keep Gaea down with all the other nature spirits")
("HE HATES ME")

Is it irony? That Jason, the esteemed praetor of New Rome, found his needed happy place in the form of Camp Half-blood; whereas Percy, hero of Camp Half-blood, found his much desired sense of normalcy in the form of New Rome and Camp Jupiter?

Lupa meeting Jason for the first time, Seeing this small human pup and being reminded of her own human children, Romulus and Remus.
The child trembles, not from fear but from the cold. The image of two babies shivering from the assaulting winds of the wild, clinging on each other, comes flashing through her mind. They. He needs shelter.
The she-wolf is suddenly flooded with necessity of keeping this pup.
She trains him the hardest. She knows he is destined for something enormous, she can feel it. Just like with her other two. But Jason is young, too young. He needs more time under the fire to be molded into a proper child of Rome, someone worthy to call themselves the son of the Kings of the gods.
In the night, she allows him to lay by her side. She tells him stories, about the greatest heroes of Rome, about her children, how her Romulus founded Rome and became its first King, and how her Remus died by his brother’s hand. She doesn’t know if Jason truly understands the weight of the words as she talks about the demise of her child, but the toddler looks at her with a contemplative expression on his round rosy face and after a moment he wraps his small arms around her neck. The act takes the wolf by surprise and when she gains her composure, she bitterly orders him to go to sleep.
Despite the harshness in her tone, she lets him embrace her as he sleeps, covering him with her warm fur and nuzzling his hair.
Other demigods pups come and go but Jason stays. Until Juno comes for her champion.
To put it in mortal terms, it can be said that what came after the arrival of the Queen, is the godly equivalent of a custody battle.
Jason needs to learn how to be the leader of men, Lupa knows this. She also knows that there’s so much that Jason can learn at her side.
But in the end, he is Juno’s. Nothing can’t beat the title of Juno’s champion.
The Queen is eyeing them thoughtfully with an aura of superiority and the she-wolf stand solemn, but the child starts nuzzling her side and she can’t help but reciprocate the affection.
Juno comes and gently picks up Jason and strokes his hair.
As they take their leave from the Wolf House, Lupa watches as the child rest his head on the Queen’s shoulder.
She can’t help to remember the moment when that mortal shepherd took her two children away.
Jason waves goodbye to her as he is taken away. Lupa can’t look back anymore.

I like to headcannon that Juno heard Jason's last prayer: to bring his friends to safety.
That she felt something amiss. But didn't think much of it, instead smiling to herself at her kind hearted boy.
"I suppose, since you've asked so nicely."
He could've asked practically anything of her and if she could granted him it, she would.
Jason may have been her husbands child, but he was her son.
If only Juno hadn't brushed off his prayer as simply being kind. She'll think back and wonder if she'd overlooked his despair.
How weak he sounded.
How she heard nothing after.
The scream she let out echoed throughout Olympus.

Jason vs. Thalia talking to birds
Headcanon that Jason AND Thalia can talk to birds but while peacocks LOVE Jason and always help him they absolutely DESPISE Thalia and WILL attack her. Because, y'know, Hera.

Jason went on a solo quest when he was younger. Camp Jupiter was so proud that their little son of Jupiter was getting his own quest
. He helped Jupiter’s sacred Eagles. He loved those eagles, they visited him on occasion. A huge basilisk was threatening their nesting grounds. Jason killed it all by himself.
The camp saw Jason’s quest as a great success. He was victorious and came back with the basilisk’s fang as a prize.
The camp didn’t see Lichtenberg scars running down his back that Jupiter gave him because one of the eagles was injured. The only reason Jason was able to physically move was because Juno healed his wounds.
But the scars would be permanent.
The seven assumed the scars were from Jason’s powers.
But Percy and Annabeth know.
Thalia never had scars from using her powers

I cant stop thinking about the fact that Juno just might have truly loved Jason. That she thought she was so merciful for letting him live. That she loved him as though he was her own. That Jason was her son, her boy no matter the circumstances. That Jason not understanding what a mother's love was also believed the same. That when he saw Sally look at Percy with a look of adoration it reminded him of Juno who would give him those looks after he finished a quest. But the difference was while Sally's love for Percy was unconditional, Juno's was. That as a goddess, mortals and demigods need to be deserving of love in her eyes. But in her heart she truly did love Jason so when he came back resenting her for taking his memories she was confused. Because in her eyes love was conditional

This’ll only make sense if you’ve ever been into Harry Potter as well as Percy Jackson, if it makes sense at all, but:
Everybody always talked about if Harry had been raised by McGonagall he would’ve stopped Voldemort in his first year, how he’d have been top of the class along with all the rest of it, etc, and basically how they wanted to see that.
But we’ve got that in Jason. I get we collectively don’t really like Hera, because let’s face it, she kind of sucks. But despite them being the same person, Juno is a totally different person. Mars was way better than Ares, Somnus was way different than Hypnos, and Juno was different snd better than Hera. And Juno is so like McGonagall.
They’re both towering intimidating women in caretaker positions, but the kids around them (specifically Harry/Jason) also have them as a secret sort of motherly figure when push comes to shove. They’re the women that are always there guiding them and teaching them, that they can turn to in a pinch, and when looked at deeper they do kind of see/treat as a mother figure. They’re both reserved and quiet, very intelligent, strict on the outside but got massive soft spots for the kids (McGonagall with basically every student, Juno with the entirety or New Rome as their patron at least) and for their one motherless kid in particular.
Now, obviously I’m taking slight liberties with Jason here because we didn’t get nearly as much Jason/Juno content as we did Harry/McGonagall content. But I at least totally believe everything I’m saying.
There’s that scene in Ravenclaw tower in the last book where the Carrows go after McGonagall and Harry fucks them up for daring to lay a finger on her, and you really get the parental thing there.
Jason did save Juno of course in The Lost Hero, but granted, he was just following orders and not really knowing why. But he still did it, and I put his nonchalance down to amnesia. I am convinced pre-HoO Jason with all his memories would have positively leapt to Juno’s aide the second anyone dared threaten her.
Im not being funny, but Jupiter was AWOL the whole time, they basically even said it in HoO about the Titan War from what little he remembered. It definitely would’ve happened like fighting the giants. Jupiter probably hardly ever, if ever, said a word to him and all the help he got was a lightning bolt from his dad. And you don’t even NEED a god to take down a Titan, so maybe Jupiter didn’t even bother in the first war at all.
Jupiter was the equivalent of the Dursley’s. Actually related by blood and supposed to be responsible for this kid, but did fuck all and didn’t even seem to like him much.
Juno was his patron, effectively a guardian. It would’ve been Juno most likely that gave him counsel if anyone did. Would’ve been Juno expressing even a modicum of pride or approval after the war if anyone did. She was his McGonagall.
She would’ve been way more of a role model, an example for Jason to live up to. Jason basically lived by the Roman motto of the strong protect the weak. Where do you think he got that from? When was the last time Jupiter helped anybody? But Juno was Rome’s patron, she protected the Legion and she cared. He would’ve been more likely to see that in practise and emulate it. He was her champion so he’s make her proud and be New Rome’s first line of defence.
And Jason was smart and accomplished just like everyone’s idea of Harry if he’d been raised by McGonagall. We’ve got it right here in PJO and everybody’s sleeping on it. Rick has got to hurry up with those Roman prequels because I am losing my goddamn mind.
