Inomata’s Design Notes & Memories - Destiny Cast
Tumblr media
Some notes:
I’ve linked images of each thing she references below.
Unlike the first batch of Eternia characters I previously posted, these were in Japanese. And unlike the Destiny 2 ones I translated, she talks about her experiences with the characters in the game and not just her design processes!
The book in question is this one.
What I think about most when designing characters is their colors and the components to their look. The characters are displayed as such small sprites, so in order to be able to differentiate them from each other, I give each of them a specific color palette and unique accessories to each of their outfits.
Stahn’s thing was his scarf. I also made sure his shoulder pads, gloves, and boots looked huge.
Rutee is supposed to be a thief, so I made her look a bit like a ninja. I didn’t want her to look too girly, so I gave her shorts and exposed her navel. For colors I went with red and black, since that’s a distinctive palette. Whenever I’d do boss battles, she’d always be joyfully picking 2 gald off the ground instead of healing my very low HP characters (laughs). I thought about removing her from my party to prevent this, but then I’d feel bad, and it just made me think “this is all part of her plot” (laughs).
Philia is a priestess through and through. I went for white and green to give her an earthly feel (laughs). Her glasses and braids were a strong request from Namco. I came up with designs for her, but they didn’t have the glasses or braids, so they were repurposed for the priests in Straylize Temple. It was the basis for Philia’s design as well as Elraine’s in the sequel. Philia has her eye on Stahn, but he eats too much and he oversleeps. I feel like they’d work out better if Philia was more the assertive type herself (laughs).
Woodrow is an archetypical handsome man, so I didn’t have much to stress about when designing him. He’s a king, so I wished he had a stronger atmosphere behind him. I almost never used him when playing the game though (laughs). When you break into Dycroft, I thought, “it’d be really cool in a narrative sense to use him here, but he’s just so weak”. But you get special dialogue if you take him along, so I went “tsk” and brought him anyway. “Just stick to the backlines and don’t die” (laughs).
Leon’s really easy to draw, so again I didn’t have much to stress about when drawing him. He has a princely vibe to him, so I gave him white tights, but everyone was taken back by it! I thought, “is it that weird?” and ended up making them less tight fitting (laughs). He acts a bit snobbish, gets seasick easily and refuses to eat vegetables, so he really crosses off a lot on the “young master” list. He’s also really fun to use in battle (laughs). He has a really low defense stat but he hits fast, so it’s crucial that you string your combos together. When paired with Stahn, if you can isolate your bosses in the far side of the screen, they go down quite fast. Then I see the popup that Rutee’s picking gald off the floor again and I just use healing items on him (laughs).
I wanted to make Chelsea cute and small, so I based her image off of little birds. I gave her a palette of pink, green and blue, and made her hair look like a cockatoo or parrot. Her bloomers look like a paper lantern and I find them quite cute (laughs). Her life story makes me want to cry though. She’s fine and all in the first game, but in the sequel, she’s still wearing those bloomers from when she was a kid, living all alone on a snowy mountain. And if you go through her drawers, you can take something that Woodrow gave to her. I felt so bad, I thought “even though it’s so out of the way, I’ll go buy all the items you need!” (laughs). Then she makes all of these bows for you, but by then, I’d already enhanced my weapons a lot… But I felt so bad that I never Refined them and thought, “I’ll keep these on me forever” (laughs).
Johnny’s original idea was “troubadour,” but as the story progressed and I gave him his hat and all sorts of plumes, he came out a bit comical (laughs). He’s a really fun character to have in your party though, and I fell in love with him right away. I love that his tone-deafness does physical damage to the enemies (laughs).
With the Swordians, they have the will of humans and I wanted to incorporate that into their designs, but it didn’t seem to fit so I went for something more inorganic. Berselius alone has a creepy aura to him, and when Destiny 2 came around I thought “But his owner is such a nice person! Is it really okay for him to have such a creepy design?” but then I thought well, maybe Harold just likes things that way (laughs).

~Tell It to My Heart~
title: Your Happiness is Mine
Dialogue #7: “I want to see you happy.”
Idia x gn!reader
Read on AO3
Tumblr media
"I want to see you happy.
"...I don't believe you."
Idia shoots you down so easily like it's second nature to him. And it is. The mere thought of another person taking any interest in his happiness is unimaginable. No one knows him or cares for him. And even if they did, why would they wish for his happiness? That wish could be used on something better, more worthwhile. Like a better dorm for example...
Still, there's a lingering bit of hope inside his heart. The way you say it, so genuine and pure compared to the mob students here makes something in his chest ache. A stray flame flickers to pink. If you blink, you'd miss it.
You're different and Idia knows this. You're the kind and patient Prefect of Ramshackle. The odd and only magicless person in this school. A doomed, isekai'd protagonist who has gone out of their way to befriend a total NPC like him. You've offered to play games with him, give up your own sweets, stay up late in his room to help out with a raid- you're supposed to be a normie and yet here you are?!
You are definitely one strange character.
"Why not?"
"Why would you?"
He has to pause his game and take a glance your way. Golden hues inspect your innocent eyes. No matter how badly he wants to find a hint of dishonesty in them, he can't. It's not like you're hard to read either. Always displaying your emotions like the heroic protag you are.
"Because..." You take in a breath, cheeks dusting pink. "I just...like it when you're happy."
"Hah!" He coughs, it feels like he's choking on air from hearing such a line be voiced towards him IRL. His defenses crumble so easily. Even if he was setting himself up for this, prepping for the real thing was impossible.
"Y-You're just saying that...!" Idia turns his head away. His grip on his controller tightens yet he can't find himself to continue playing. As he rests on the pause screen, he fiddles with the controller and fills the air with the sound of movement as he pushes the joystick around. "Something like that isn't meant for me...if you say that th-then you're totally just trying to pick me up to pull me down, right?"
It's easy to think that people have the worse intentions set out for him. It keeps him safe, alone, protected. Surely, you'd be the same, wouldn't you?
You defy his expectations by shaking your head.
"I wouldn't lie to you, Idia. If you're happy, then I'm happy."
Gah! You're practically depleting all of his HP with only two hits! If he would have known you were going to be a secret boss he would have told you to go home! But now he's stuck in this fight and doesn't have the option to run. Well, he can run. Sort of. He uses his jacket as a way to recover HP while burying himself in it. His hoodie goes and blue flames scatter in front of him. It's a mess but he doesn't care. Amidst the blue and pink, you can still spot shining gold looking your way.
"Y-You shouldn't...say things like that...!" He breathes. "I kn-know you're a protagonist and all, but..." He grips onto his hoodie. Hands shaking as he feels his own body heating up. He can't tell if it's from his hair or not. "D-Don't expect something in return! I'm not one of your love interests!"
"That's fine," you say with a sweet smile and a nonchalant tone. Like you knew he was going to brush off your words in order to defend himself. His attack did nothing to you. Meanwhile, he's busy recovering in his shell and he's afraid that you're going to strike before he can fully heal.
Despite all his words, guilt stabs at his heart. It makes his healing slow, makes him think about what he said. Idia is the type to speak first, think later, and then get in trouble when he rambles. There was no trouble with you, but he felt like he shouldn't have tried to fight back.
After all, whatever you wanted, he would do almost anything for you. Because just like you, Idia wants to see you happy too.

Tumblr media
1991 Ministry of Magic
This fucking idiot. I asked for the papers by Monday! It's Friday! I think to myself as I storm angrily to his office. How hard is it to follow simply bloody instructions?!?
Y/n: "Lucius fucking Malfoy!" *Barges into his office*
Lucius: *Looks up from his papers completely unfazed* "A simple knock would be absolutely wonderful." *Rolls eyes*
Y/n: "Don't get a tone with me Malfoy!" *Shuts door and walks closer to him placing her hands on her hips*
Lucius: *Stands up pushing the papers to the side and pushes her against the wall placing his hand around her neck but not squeezing* "Just because your my boss at the moment doesn't mean you have complete authority over me, darling... and frankly I don't like your tone."
Y/n: "Are you threating me?"
Lucius: "I don't know. Am I?" *A smug smirk appears on his face*
Y/n: *Cheeks begin to turn a light shade of pink as she stares up at him* "L-Lucius I don't think this is appropriate..."
Lucius: *Givers her neck a slight squeeze causing Y/n to whimper softly* "Your actions are telling me otherwise." *He whispers softly his eyes scanning me up and down*
Y/n: "Lucius... you have a wife..." *Her voice is barley above a whisper as she gazes up into his cold grey eyes*
Lucius: "I don't see her." *He whispers as he leans down his lips mere centimeters from touching Y/n's*
Y/n: *Eyes flutter as she feels a strange sensation coursing through her body*
Lucius: *Pulls away from her and walks back to his desk picking up a stack of papers* "But you're right. I don't think this is appropriate."
Y/n: *A look of confusion appears on her face* "Lucius-"
Lucius: *Hands her the stack of papers she asked for* "Here are your papers." *Places his hand on her lower back and guides her towards the door*
Y/n: *Stares at him in shock as he gives her a slight push out of his office*
Lucius: "And it's Mr. Malfoy to you, darling." *He says as he smirks at me shutting the door it my face.

🕰️🩷🧋and 🥘 for starstuck Dee please and thank you.
[ >>> kirby oc ask meme <<< ]
🕰️ (Clock) - What would a Dreamy Gear version of them look like? What sort of accessories would they have? What kind of role do they play?
Tumblr media
well i couldn't resist drawing it once i'd thought about it, so here she is! still pretty recognisable, but i think that large elements of her story and the suspicions surrounding her would be different, due to the fact that waddle dee/bandee is usually the one and only waddle dee. i think she'd still be found in a meteor crater at the edge of town by meta knight, but i think this time he'd bring her to bandee instead of president dedede, mostly due to the clear visual similarities. bandee would take her in instantly, and she'd follow him around the mechanic shop, learning to tinker and serving as his glorified assistant. learns to make really good apple tea instead of being a friendly chatterbox she would be shy and selectively mute, speaking out loud exclusively to bandee. though she still forms relationships with kirby and meta knight, i think that sadly in this world president dedede would frighten her, despite how highly bandee thinks of him 😭 at meta knight's suggestion, after he finds her squinting skyward on the roof at night a few too many times, she makes herself a pocket telescope for looking at stars and surveying the weather. she uses it to give bandee reports, which he discretely passes on to kirby and dedede for their races.
🩷 (Pink Heart) - If they were a Dream Friend, what would their moveset be like? How much HP do they have? Would they be a strong attacker, or would they take on more of a support role?
she would be a support role for sure, but i also can't resist also giving her some specialised abilities... > hp: small health bar, but practically immune to damage. will still die in insta-kill scenarios like lava or crush blocks > basic attack: if bandana waddle dee, meta knight, or king dedede are on the team she'll get a simple swing attack with a toy/training version of their weapon. if at least two are on the team, it's upgraded to an attack with a three-swing combo, and she'll alternate at random between which weapon she pulls > basic support: drawing magic from the environment around her or other allies or enemies present, she can give a wide variety of power effects. i previously said she'd give blustery and i stand by it, because even if there are no other elements around there's always air, but i think she could give the others too. she cannot attack with any of these herself > healing: under CPU control she'll focus on running ahead to pick up heal items, and bring them back. if everybody has full health, she'll actually store the item and bring it out later whenever anyone gets below half health; tdlx bandee style > meteor shower: this is a charge attack that starts with a 3 minute cooldown. after charging, she can use it by jumping in the air and pressing a multi-button combo, to avoid accidental activation. this is a full screen, crash-like attack with a shooting star visual, similar to team meteor. all on screen enemies defeated, and most bosses down to at least 1/3 health. > downed: unfortunately after using the charged attack she will drop her inventory, pass out, and need to be piggy backed for about 5 minutes if you want to keep her on the team (walking over to her will activate a 'piggy back' bar instead of the standard 'revive'). she cannot heal or give buffs during this time, but can be dropped by accident or when attacked, and can take damage that cannot be healed. if she makes it she wakes up at partial health, but returns to being invulnerable while conscious
🧋 and 🥘 both answered here!

Live Blogging the Burrow’s end finale but it’s all in one post because I can’t be bothered to reblog the same post 10 times. So like… pre-recorded blogging I guess
Spoilers. Obviously.
- loving the finale outfits! Especially the caution tape accessories!
- hey girl hey! Poor Teedles is taking all of this very well and we love them for it. I too would rather face possible death than have to babysit my boss’s children
- someone really should go check on Simon
- love how Tula is advocating for a nonviolent solution and ends it with “and we should definitely track down and murder Phoebe”. It’s nonviolent except for one specific person (being?)
- Lucas is just doing his best as a congested little boy. Somebody get him some mint! (Bint)
- “oh, mommy has so much bloodlust!” is an excellent line
- again, Brennan is unhinged, and also maybe wearing pink lipstick, which I think adds to the vibe
- Thorn being concerned for Dr Steel is so indicative of his character. He just wants to protect his people, and even though they’ve only known this human for a few hours, she is one of his people
- I DID NOT KNOW HE COULD DO THAT
- love a good title drop, but this plan seems very hastily put together. I am concerned
- persuasion- “-OR ELSE!” … ok intimidation
- gasoline lasts for however long is narratively relevant
- how many stoats does it take to drive a truck? Apparently at least 5
- I mean as far at Nat 1s go operating a gear shift as a rodent makes sense
- viola is holding this group together by sheer force of will
-oh fuck human magic!
- new map! New map!
- Oh fuck “human” NECROMANCY!
-kinda sad that Carlos isn’t playing Wennabocker on the board in some way but it obviously makes sense from a practical standpoint
- the minis!!! So cool!
-“grandma casts sounding” oh no…
- box of doom strikes again
- 40 points of damage is insane
- Lucas no! I love his little hat but no!
- hate when the BBEG rolls a Nat 20
- 69 hp…nice
- not Lucas!!
- oh Tula is never going to forgive herself for this and I have Thoughts about it
- Phoebe really is just a situation at this point
- That is exactly what a 12 year old would say when beating up an eldritch horror
- yeah I’d say hitting the ground really hard is a reckless attack, Ava
-109 damage! Jesus fucking Christ
- oh it’s some eugenics shit, okay
- Dr Steel coming to the rescue!
- I love using a bunch of skills and mechanics to get the desired outcome. Casting a spell, moving out of range of counterspell, and disengaging an opportunity attack all at the same time just to be able to fireball this meat suit
- I also would not recommend hitting a nuclear reactor with fire
- “no that’s okay” was such a power move
- “I DEBONE THAT MOTHERFUCKER” yes you do, and somehow that invents cooking! I love it
- Nat 20! “THATS! MY! WIFE!!!” Viola has taken out 4 giants in a single round. She is a badass. She is a warrior. She is my hero.
- oh yeah, Dr Steel was just standing there for all that
- We may be experiencing a tragedy but at least they’ve also invented ice cream
- LUCAS NO!
- ok yeah i might be sobbing a little, what of it?
- I like that Ava can have a little magic as a treat
- I personally welcome our new stoat overlords
- babies!
-Get it, Tula! But seriously I like that she really got to process life without being just a widow and a mother before moving on
-baby’s first word: viscera. This is cannon
-Ava’s doing great, and her life is in her own hands. She’s completely overhauling the local law enforcement and creating triple A
- Dr Lila! She’s a nuclear physicist now!
- Did not expect Jaysohn to go for an Airbud plot line but I’m not mad at it
Closing thoughts: I loved it! I think the ending was pretty abrupt but taking out the BBEG in like 2 rounds will do that so I can’t fault them for it. I would have loved for at least one of the party to take over Education, and I think Tula was kind of set up for it but I’m glad she gets to just enjoy life now instead. I can’t wait to see tomorrow’s Adventuring Party and I’m super excited about next season!

Well, the poppy field itself. In myths, the poppy is a symbol of sleep, death and fertility, and all this is closely connected with the cat world. I wanted to do it like in Hamlet with the poisoned air. Like, you need a gas mask so you don’t fall asleep, and then find a cave or some other crap in this field.
Tumblr media
At the same time, I thought about how it might look in the game (a purely personal task. I try to take everything into account) and could not come to a single good solution. In my opinion, everything looks like garbage. This is either to plant a huge area with flowers and goodbye FPS, or to make a green lawn with “poppy bushes”, a type of decorative bushes that can be trampled on, but not interacted with in any way, or a texture with flowers. But I really want the effect of drowning in these flowers, so that they move the same way as in Hamlet when you walk through large bushes. Another option is to make larger bushes in “special places” so that you can “burrow” into them. This way you can hide the object for the boss.
From mobs: Puppy Poppy. I didn't bother with the name.
Tumblr media
In addition to the boss summoning item (which I still haven't come up with), there will be sleeping poppies in the field (either white or blue, a la from the Moon, we'll decide later). They will contain seed pods, from which you can create the same healing staff. Next we watch the hands: Opium is obtained from unripe pods - in fact, because of this, poppy is a “sleeping pill” - opium is known to be used in medicine. In addition, the seeds themselves were dried and used as medicinal raw materials. Further, the staff itself in the game, when used, creates a field with flowers in which you receive HP.
The puppies will guard these flowers. I have several behavior systems in mind:
They exist passively on the field and attack the player when trying to collect the box.
They crawl out of the ground like flowers, then attack.
They appear off-screen and run like Hounds towards the player to bite him on the butt. I'm leaning towards the first option. I just like it better this way.
About the staff:
Tumblr media
In general, the essence is clear: seeds fall, plants grow and are healed. The first option allows, as in the game, only when used (shaken) the seeds scatter. The second option implies that the seeds will be constantly sprayed and processed little by little. I like the second option, but the first one is better for the game.
As a secret bonus: in addition to players, he cures nightmares - the recipe we get from the cat came from Wilson's desk, and Wilson is keeping part of his bargain. Everything is logical, and those who do not know will be surprised.
Another little bonus to the poppy field: there is pink nightmarefuel in the game.

I feel like a lot of people seem to be struggling against a lot of the stages, most notably those before story segments. And as a chronic Arknights player who regularly plays high Surging/does ending 2 and ending 3 attempts regularly in IS3, I'd like to share some tips to potentially help with progression!
First and foremost, it does help to have a zone where you can concentrate all your damage at, then prepare blockers and DPS units at that specific area, along with potentially healers. Marbas is the go-to usually because his ult is a heal over time in a 3x3 area around him that lasts the entire stage, kinda like Bard Supporters in Arknights. This comes with enemy pathing and behaviour knowledge, however. Basically, identify a chokepoint to concentrate all your firepower at.
It's probably one of the things you have to get used to in Arknights ASAP if you want an easier time. Take a look at this early stage in IS3 - where you'll have to improvise on the fly based on the unit classes the game gives you.
In this stage (Precarious Defense - normal operation), I took the long straightway in front of Exusiai (the red-haired angel) as my main damage zone. It helps burst down the exploding spiders, as well as the enemies from the bottom spawn point. Gnosis and Steward, the other two ranged units near Exusiai (black and white hair respectively), help with DPS their own way. And I would plug the the leftmost lane as a chokepoint with Spot if I had a weaker sniper than Exusiai, like May or Kroos, but S3M3 Exusiai is more than enough to deal with the squishy units on left lane.
Other options I've used at other points for this stage include:
Using Mountain (S2), Thorns (S3), Lappland (S2), Mudrock (S2), or Saria (S1/S2) to solo lane the top left spawn point.
Using a combination of anything between Agent, Merchant, or Executor classes to deploy and redeploy for the leftmost lane.
If on Emergency (bottom lane spawns turn into Bonethrowers that inflict heavy physical ranged damage, but takes damage over time), focus down the leftmost spawn point with ranged units, and have a Defender/high defense melee unit with healer support near the blue base to tank the hits until the Bonethrowers die.
But there are times where you can't funnel everything into a single chokepoint. In situations like this, you're better off looking for several laneholding combinations while focusing your damage on the lane/area with the largest threats. And since I'm limited to one video on mobile, have this screenshot from one of my ending 3 clears on IS3 as an illustration!
Tumblr media
It looks like there's a lot of things going on in this image, but I'll explain.
First of all, the concept. I want to spawn-kill the boss, Ishar'mla, who appears in the red box before making a loop around the map, and finally going to the top left blue base. In this run specifically I have a relic combination that allowed me to one-cycle this boss, which includes the ASPD boosting relics (increases attack speed based on the amount of ingots you have), the Old Fan (increases all Operators' attack by 10% based on the number of classes in your team, capping at 80%), and the chocolate sauce pasta (boosts attack by 100% one second after using a skill).
Two types of main zones to pay attention to: the spawn kill zone in blue and the laneholding zones in dark pink.
With the laneholding zones, you need units with DPS and blocking power - Mountain on S2 is a premiere laneholder on the rightmost area (2-block, attacks everyone he blocks, gives him an attack boost, and gives him HP regen), while a combination of Gnosis's damage (S3M3) and Spot's 3-block plus heal on skill takes care of the leftmost area.
As for the spawn kill zone, it uses both Mlynar and SilverAsh to deal damage. They deal immense physical damage, and considering their ranges somewhat overlap (yellow for Mlynar and light purple for SilverAsh), it helps burst down the boss ASAP.
Of course, to utilize these tips well, you need an understanding of enemy pathing and behaviour. Sadly enemy pathing really isn't exactly indicated by the game, and it's a QoL that I also want in WHB. It's the red line that appears before a wave of enemies spawns in Arknights. Here's some things I've noticed about enemy behaviours:
The enemies that look like fluffy angel doggos move faster than other enemy units.
Screamers/ranged attackers tend to attack the closest unit within their range, and stop moving when they're attacking until they or their targets die - like the Bonethrowers.
The blobs are your slugs. Squishy, easy to beat, weaker than most other units.
As for the other units (eyeballs, smiley faces, etc) I haven't managed to playtest enough, as skill cycling between my L cards (Bath Levi, Selfie Levi, and Selfie Bubs) is enough to kill most everything without issue.
If I have to split up my forces, I personally usually have Bubs and one Levi handle a weaker lane, then focus on the other lane with everything else. I get that moving units is a thing but if I can AFK...why not? Lol
Also, as an aside, I would love to see units with lower rarities gain viability in WHB. Believe it or not, some of the units I use in those Arknights examples aren't the top rarities. To wit:
In the video, I brought Exusiai (6* Marksman Sniper), Gnosis (6* Hexer Supporter), Mulberry (5* Wandering Medic), Cantabile (5* Agent Vanguard), Steward (3* Core Caster), Fang (3* Pioneer Vanguard), and Spot (3* Guardian Defender). Only Mulberry and the 3*s aren't at E2.
In the Ending 3 screenshot, I brought Mlynar (6* Liberator Guard), SilverAsh (6* Lord Guard), Mountain (6* Brawler Guard), Saria (6* Guardian Defender), Gnosis, Texas the Omertosa (6* Executioner Specialist), Mostima (6* Splash Caster), Guard Amiya (5* Arts Guard), Arene (4* Lord Guard), Myrtle (4* Flagbearer Vanguard), Ansel (3* Single-target Medic), and Spot. Only Saria and the 3*s aren't at Elite 2.
However, with how rare Solomon's Tears are and with how upgrade costs are the same across rarities, perhaps having only A+ ranks be viable is for the best. Sunk-cost fallacy and all that.

When I defeat you in a legendary boss battle, I know you'll drop some chaotic loot. Like the Wabbajack.
Tumblr media
"Buddy, I'm the unbeatable boss in a game put in as a troll, I'm unkillable and I'm just very rage inducing."
"My HP bar will just fall to zero, and I will fake dying but as soon as you get close I suddenly regenerate and then I act like a face hugger and steal your body thus corrupting your save file and making you need to return to a previous one."
"If you continue to try and play on the corrupted file you'll just get a montage of me eating shoes and soap ASMR style maybe even me slurping up nuclear waste or crawling on all fours in the middle of the night and act like a deer in the headlights and cause someone to crash to avoid me while I litearly eat a pothole into the road."
"But I'll humor you if you did defeat me [despite how impossible it is] I'd drop my own head and with it you can summon anything that belongs inside my void to fight for you, and as you should know I have alot of fucked up things in there."
"speaking of which I wonder how the sin of lust is doing in there."
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(note the sin of lust has no canonical design in Charlie's universe so will be portrayed by pink light)
Lust: ... IT'S AGONY IN HERE, I'VE STARTED TO TALK TO DODO BIRDS, ALL THE PEOPLE I MEET HAVE ALREADY GONE INSANE AND THUS IT MAKES THEM HARD TO FLIRT WITH, I CAN'T REMEMBER THE LAST TIME I FUCKED.
*loud sobbing*
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"All I do know is they absolutely deserve to be there, they should have known what would happen if they flirt with me."
"I am curious how hell functions without lust though, maybe I should visit again, I am banned sure, but that's never stopped me."
"anyway TLDR lmao you can't beat me."

hey do you play pokomatsu? could you give some advices and/or explain some of the things on the game? for example those cards you hit and can choose a power-up
Hi! Yeah I do play Pokomatsu! I'd love to explain and give tips on some things! I hope you don't mind how long this answer is going to be tho 😅
I'm gonna start with the boys' skill balls and go into more detail under the cut about their special moves, and other ball types as well as strategies I PERSONALLY use.
❤️ Osomatsu's ball - Annoys Opponents(?) (idk what effect it has on enemies but that's what it says)
Tumblr media
(*Note: I'll translate all the boys' Ball convos in another post because the readmore gets glitchy for some reason here if I put too many photos)
💙 Karamatsu Ball - Doesn't get affected by Obstacles (so you can like hit opponents in the back or those that are blocked by objects), goes straight through and only bounces off the walls
💚 Choromatsu's Ball - Gives enemies a passive green fire (read: Ego flame) that makes them take damage every turn
💜 Ichimatsu's Ball - Gives enemies a passive purple poison that makes them take damage each turn (both this and Choromatsu's can be used for one enemy so like double the damage)
💛 Jyushimatsu's Ball - Splits into three and bounces infinitely as long as there are enemies and walls to bounce off of (it speeds up after a while and you can choose to wait or call it back (using the button in the bottom left ABOVE the pause button if you want)
💗 Todomatsu's Ball - (from what I understand) It Deals extra damage to enemies in form of a bomb(?)
Misc Balls:
Akumatsu Ball - Has a chance of doing a One Hit One Kill to an enemy (rare Crit Damage basically)
F6 Ball - "A ball filled with the charm of F6. When it hits an enemy, it rarely causes a mellow state." How I understood it is that it either makes them hit you with less damage or miss a turn to hit you if they're a passive damage dealing enemy.
Riceball Bots Ball - fires a laser across the screen when it hits an enemy, direction depends on who you pick (Shake ↕️, Ume ↔️, then the Omidirectional ball)
Tumblr media
Sukeroku Ball - recoil shots (like shots that have already bounced off somewhere else) deal more damage
Lotion ball slimy ball (a pink gooey looking ball) - When it hits an enemy, it bounces in a random direction.
Darkness Great Demon World Fucking Darkness Hell Caste Ball (left) - Inflicts a large amount of damage only once on hit.
Chantoshita Ball (middle) - When you hit an enemy, a "proper" missile will fly to the enemy with the lowest HP.
Enemy Specific Balls (left) - Where you can deal more damage to the pictured character
Tumblr media
Now let's talk about skills!
I made a small Google Lens Translation of their in-game skills here but I'll explain it some more here. Minus the brother you're using as your main, you can drag a sibling onto the board (after 6-7 turns) to activate their skills. YOU CAN ONLY USE EACH BROTHER ONCE PER GAME
❤️ Osomatsu's Skill - With his "natural charisma" (I swear that's what it says) he blocks all enemy movement for one turn
💙 Karamatsu's Skill - Takes damage for you from enemies for two turns (that's SUCH a Kara skill 😩👌)
💚 Choromatsu's Skill - Deals a ton of damage to a large area with his "uncontrollable self-consciousness" (Again that's really what it says XD) and also inflicts passive burning to enemies like his ball would.
💜 Ichimatsu's Skill - Calls all his cat friends with some high grade sardines and replenishes your HP to max
💛 Jyushimatsu's Skill - Reduces all enemy skills (minus the boss) to 14 HP (fun fact: If you use this skill on a splitting enemy type, their doubles spawn at 7HP!)
💗 Todomatsu's Skill - Mercilessly drops bombs all over the screen, dealing damage to all enemies.
Misc skills (cards):
Tumblr media
(first left) There's a card where it's a ball next to 2-3 arrows pointing up and that basically increases the damage/effect of the ball
(middle) There's also a card where it replaces TWO of your normal matsu balls to a shown choice of ball
There's a combo skill card that looks like variations of (see leftmost) like with a number and the icon of it's effect (essentially the effects are the same as skill balls except that these are kinda passive) Where after you get the certain red numbered combo (i.e. the amount of times your balls hit an enemy in one turn) they randomly drop an effect on the card to an enemy to deal damage. (For example: This one is a Choromatsu type skill (it's the same icon Choro's ball has) so EVERY 40 combo hits, they'll randomly deal the passive fire damage to an enemy.) There are other kinds ranging from 30-100 too! Like one where every 30 combos your normal matsu ball splits into two for more damage
Now there are 4 different enemy types (That I've found so far)
Passive enemies (no damage until they get to the end of the board)
Matsuyo, Matsuzo, Yowai Family, Nyaa, Busu, GirlyMatsu, Normal Dekapan, Proper matsus (s3e1), etc
Damage Dealing (Deals damage to you per turn)
Iyami, Chibita, Hatabou, Shotgun Dekapan, Dayon, etc
Moving/Teleporting (doesn't deal damage but moves around the board randomly)
Murakami Kouji, etc
Splitting type (when they die 2-4 more with half the HP of the main body show up randomly on the board)
Shounosuke Hijirisawa, etc. (I really really hate when he's the final boss)
As for strategies, my main go to is Oso mostly because he's my bias and because the other brothers' skills work better for my type of game play which is pretty reckless. In terms of balls I like to use, I ALWAYS pick the Jyushimatsu, Choromatsu, and Ichimatsu balls. Because Passive damage to enemies will always be my fave, and Jyushimatsu's ball paired with a combo card (my highest combo was around 1024 with just ONE Jyushi ball, I almost fell asleep waiting for it to finish bouncing XD).
Some tips I can offer is that,
If there are too many Damage dealing type enemies and you can use a special skill, I suggest either Kara (if you're confident you can take them out in the next two turns) or Jyushi (so you can one hit ALL them).
Make use of the walls and the dotted line guide! The more bounce the more chance you can hit a ton of enemies in one turn
If your phone is like mine and a lil bit slow (read: sometimes hella laggy) when you buy something that isn't a memory gacha in shop there are two pop-ups, one with the "are you sure you want this?" with blue and pink buttos and another that's basically like a confirmation with just 1 blue button. WAIT FOR THAT
You die when your main matsu reaches 0HP and you can choose to revive with half HP for an ad OR revive with full HP and all the brothers' skills reactivated PLUS decrease the HP of all enemies for 100
Just thought I should mention esp if you can't read Japanese, Google Lens is good for a quick screenshot translation if you really wanna know what everyone is saying in the home chat ^^, ALSO the blue usually means no and pink USUALLY means yes. So jic you accidentally click it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You can use the "Auto" button (on the bottom left BELOW the pause) on the easier stages to collect memories from that level quicker since the chance of dying there is pretty small (I've been doing auto on old levels a lot lately because stage 24 is merciless and I've been stuck there for 3 days)
Everyday Chibita's shop (the red oden shop icon left of the matsu house) refreshes and you can get tons of stuff for pretty cheap (Like new ball designs, new formats for the resume, memories for coins instead of gems, etc.) Also fun fact, you can tap Chibita and it hits his forehead!
There's a special challenge stage right next to the main stage that refreshes weekly(?) And it mostly gives you a 10 g guarantee for beating it but it's also just a fun challenge since enemies are way harder (ALSO you can click the ℹ️ next to each level even in normal stages, to see what enemies will be there so you can prep in advance)
Tumblr media
In the bottom left of the home screen there's two buttons, a gift and a trophy. In the bottom right, there's a dart board. Pokomatsu is super generous with their gems so collect from those everyday if you can.
Gifts - Every 8 hours Pokomatsu gives you 1 free memory, some gems and coins.
Trophies - basically rewards for completing stuff, press the button to collect all rewards as shown (sometimes they give up to 600 gems!)
Wheel of fortune - for an ad, you can spin the wheel and Pokomatsu lets you stack up your rewards, so if you spin even just once a day and collect it by the end of the week you'll have a good amount of rewards or coins depending on your luck
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And that's pretty much it for now! Sorry there isn't much else I can help with, and also for how INCREDIBLY long this post is but I hope it helps! If you have any extra questions I'd be happy to answer!
Also if you want to download the game (and other country exclusive games) you can download this app for that! Enjoy!

I said that I’d discuss the two character’s I’ve worked on the most for UT: Extras
So
Meet Doreen (Pink) And Elizabeth (Blue)!
(The art is done by https://x.com/itsacomatoes?s=21
https://x.com/itsacomatoes?s=21 )
Tumblr media
First I should probably go over their Personalties, so here’s some summed up stuff on that!
Elizabeth: A quiet, more innocent compared to most people her age, she isn’t exactly shy but she is rather spacey, relatively just a naive girl that has a huge hyper fixation on dairy and milk related things.
Doreen: An extremely Hyper girl, she’s not actually innocent but she isn’t exactly corrupted or anything, she’s really supportive but can often be overwhelming to others because of her kind of over the top behavior
Now that we know them, what’s their Role in the game/story? Well…
They’re Shopkeepers that you can find in certain sections of most of the locations in the Underground!
Snowden
Waterfall
Hotland
The Hotel
And The Dunes if we add UT:Yellow stuff.
I have the items that they’ll sell finished, just not the prices.
There will be more and new items in the shops for everytime you encounter them, so..
Snowden Starting items:
MILK:
Milk.
Heals 10 hp.
Soda Milk: Heals 5 Hp.
It’s just..Carbonated Milk..?
Adds a minor speed boost.
A Bag of baking powder:
Tastes Awful.
Heals 2 Hp, but can be used 10 times.
Squid Milk: It’s literally Ink.
Tastes…oddly nice?
2 Hp
Adds 2 ATK.
CoupCake: 2 small halfs of a cake that make a heart when eaten.
Heals 10 Hp, can be Eaten twice.
The Healing increases after each of the "Dates."
After Papyrus it would be 11.
After Undyne it would be 15.
After Alphys it’s finally just 20.
Millik: Heals 55 Hp and Adds +2 Defense to you for each 2nd turn.
A Deluxe Milk that costs 8000.
The price Lowers everytime you die.
Waterfall Additions:
Glowilk: Heals 5 hp.
It’s Shining Milk
Makes you shine in dark areas.
Homilk: Heals 10 Hp.
It’s a bottle of milk with little blue cow stickers on it.
Makes act options worth 2x the rate they normally are.
(For Example: You don’t have to flex as much to get Aoron to flex itself away.)
Uncloudy Glasses:
Cost 1G + A pair of cloudy glasses.
Elizabeth cleans up your glasses.
Its defense stat changes to 10.
Hotland Additions:
Tardy Slip:
Allows you to flee a normal encounter you typically wouldn’t be allowed to.
Temmie Cereal: Heals 15 Hp.
It’s a Bowel of Cereal with a few Temmie flakes in it shaped in the face of Temmie.
(Only Unlocked After Finding Tem Village.)
Mew Mew Kissy Cutie 2:
An Old Collection of episodes from a Show that Elizabeth’s no longer interested.
It can be given to Alphys for a Special interaction.
MTT Resort:
Block Cake: Heals 10 Hp
A Cake in a square shape with a few red things on the top.
can be used up to 10 times.
Carton Cap: Adds +12 Defense.
A Milk Carton Hat shaped like Elizabeth and Doreen’s.
Makes Dairy items heal for +5 more health.
Oh, and they DO actually have a "Boss fight" in every route!
In pacifist and neutral it’s typically an optional battle that you’ll ask them into, and if you damage one of the two too much the battle will end with them fleeing and having higher prices next time you encounter them
(They won’t like you as much.)
Opposite goes for sparing them.
And for genocide…
Y’know how you can DEVOUR Vegetoid when their guard is down?
Well
The plan is to have Doreen standing affront of Elizabeth, Kinda defensively, and whenever her health gets low Elizabeth heals her.
But if you do this enough and her health is low, there’ll be an action called "CONSUME."
Where you just straight up eat her and she turns to dust with just a crinkled up Carton remaining before it turns to dust too, with Elizabeth watching in horror before you just kill her too!
Anyways, now that you’ve had some rather Dark stuff just spoon fed to you, I should probably brighten the mood by telling you their dialogue options in the shop (since you can talk to all of the shop keepers.)
They’re currently not finished tho, so expect more to be coming!
•You Ask About The Skeletons
D: "Oh? Them? I actually asked the Shopkeeper about them when I got here too, apparently they just came one day out of the blue and bought a house…"
E:"And Apparently the tall one keeps puttin’ traps all around the Forest…"
"They take a lot of time to do too.."
D:"Wait- You actually DO Those? I just jump over them!"
•You Ask About The Bunnies.
D: "Ahh, Do you mean the ones in the INN? Oh they’re the sweetest bunches of buns I’ve ever met."
D:"Next time you go there, Get a Bisicle, trust me…They’re GOOD."
•You Ask About The Bunnies….(again.)
E:"…The other ones? Oh uh…There’s the one lady who walks her kid on a leash like a pet.."
D:"She talks to it like one too, doesn’t she? Gosh that’s…"
•she’d chuckle a little.
"Odd, Really."
•You Ask About The Snowman.
D: "…Who?"
E:"I think they mean the one in the forest, remember? The one with the dream to be taken around the world?"
D:"Ah, Right, I wonder what he’s doing now…"
E:"Probably Standing at the same spot."
D:"…That Makes sense!"
•You ask them about themselves.
D: "Me and Lizzy are just two simple Milk Slimes tryna make a name for ourselves in the business world!"
E: "…It’s not going all too well."
D:"It’s not going too bad either! I’m sure we’ll get more customers soon!"
E:"…I hope you’re right."
That’s all for now folks, Ty for reading if you’ve made it so far!

Chapter 17- Part 8
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So, first thing’s first- Paralysis!
Tumblr media
And from here, well- it’s a low-level Taillow, I don’t even think I need to lower its health? Just a Poké Ball should be fine?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And that’s that, welcome to Ace the Taillow! And now for the other half of these Rhodochrine encounters…
Tumblr media
Stantler! Let’s see how this one goes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Still gonna paralyze it, that’s just objectively good capturing strategy.
Tumblr media
And from here, I think Acid will be sufficient enough to lower its HP at a safe rate.
Tumblr media
And now, just to be safe, let’s use that Great Ball we just picked up, yeah?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
If you didn’t know, I named her after the love interest deer girl from Bambi. Seemed appropriate enough.
So those are about all the encounters we can get right now, so let’s address that Egg.
Tumblr media
Taking a closer look at the Egg like this…mainly yellow with significant brown portions…immediately, my mind goes to Drowzee. But I guess it’s possible for it to be Girafarig, though I feel like Girafarig would have some pink on it too due to its triangle scales. So um- Drowzee is my main guess, with Girafarig as a secondary guess?
But we won’t know until it hatches, so let’s just do some rearranging of the party-
Tumblr media
There! With Magma Armor, this Egg should hatch in no time!
(Many steps later…)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The second guess it is! Look at this…not-so little guy!
Tumblr media
Pardon me, the little guy is a little girl, in fact-
Anyways, if you’re curious about the name, it’s a reference to Girafarig’s inspiration (both generally and in terms of etymology)- the kirin, which is not only a mythological creature, but also the Japanese word for ‘giraffe’!
Tumblr media
So yeah, a Psychic-type that also has immunities and extra resistances thanks to its specific dual-typing! I like it!
Anyways, with that, it’s time to do some team-building. And with the information I have about the Fields of interest as well as the general characteristics of Poison-types…I think I know who I’m bringing to this fight.
Tumblr media
Riptide and Glare are pretty self-explanatory- Riptide because I refuse to take the starter out of the party, and Glare for probably Poison immunity. Crater and Kirin are for the type advantages (and in Kirin’s case, a certain move she hatched with that could be useful for…reasons), Breeze for whenever I want to blow the Corrosive Mist away, and Blaze to take advantage of the Corrosive Mist to power up her Fire-type moves in case Crater or Kirin aren’t cutting it.
Obviously, some level-grinding is in order, but that’s what the Grand Hall battle corner is for, yeah?
(Then I had to go to sleep…although, the pull for the battle corner that day sucked, so I didn’t mind waiting another day to see if better Trainers would show up.)
Wow, my luck with Grand Hall sure has been sucky, huh? Yesterday there was just one (1) Trainer with Pokémon in the early 20s and who only gave less than 60 Pokémon Dollars, and today? One (1) Trainer with Pokémon in the early 20s who only gave ~100 Pokémon Dollars. Would it kill this game to at least give me more than one Trainer to battle against??
I know what you might be thinking- “Oh X, just use the extra Exp. Candies (S) that you have to level your Pokémon!” And I could do that, yes- but I’m not just grinding for exp. points, I’m grinding for money too! Because I want to be able to afford items! What the heck is this, then??
Tumblr media
Well, despite how unpleasant it was- seriously, why do I keep running into this guy with a Mawile?- I was able to get the team to a good level.
Tumblr media
Lv. 29 seemed like a good stopping point, I doubt Corey will have any Pokémon above Lv. 30 at least. Plus, still no idea when we’re gonna get to the actual third Gym, which has a level cap of Lv. 35, so the lower I can keep my party’s levels while still being able to do this specific boss fight, the better. Besides- if Riptide levels up one more time during the battle, it’d make for a very cinematic evolution moment.
You might have also noticed how everyone now has an item. Breeze and Blaze have Elemental Seeds because they’re most likely to come out on Corrosive Mist, so that’ll give them a power-up (in spite of poisoning them too). Riptide and Kirin have Pecha Berries (I only had two to begin with) to deal with any poisoning of their own, and Crater has an Oran Berry for HP reasons- I would have liked to give her a Sitrus Berry instead, but I didn’t have one. Oh, and Glare’s item didn’t change, still Protective Pads.
Tumblr media
Now, I think we’ve prepared rather thoroughly- in the end, it all comes down to what actually happens during the battle. So no more delays, let’s do it.

I’m enjoying the solo play adventure book thing right now, after trying Wolves of Langston by Obvious Mimic, so I found an article on their site with recs for other solo 5e adventures, and on the strength of that I picked up Eight Petals Argent by Wraith Wright Productions. I’ve just finished running through the 1st book with a baby lvl 1 twilight cleric.
It’s a much different experience to Wolves of Langston, much more of a dungeon crawl (well, two dungeon crawls), and with much more note-keeping in the form of a play journal (I actually enjoyed that aspect, but I’m a note-keeping sort of girl). I can now say I’ve had the following (hopefully non-spoilery) experiences:
Got thoroughly lost in the dungeon, not because I didn’t have a map or didn’t understand the map, but because I was looking for a specific thing for a puzzle and couldn’t bloody find it. Which would be fine, except the dungeon is timed (there’s a deadline to hand in the macguffin).
Forgot completely about the Aid spell that had been cast on me (I noted it in the journal but NOT on my actual character sheet, so I never noted the extra HP), meaning I ran that dungeon with 5HP less than intended. I didn’t die, but I spent a significant portion of it with 2HP to my name.
Because you go straight from the dungeon to a chase with only a brief stop by a healer in between, and she only has one spell slot for you, I had to choose between getting a disease removed or getting HP back, and since the disease capped my HP, I chose to get it removed. Which meant I spent that entire chase scene, in which our gang’s glorious leader makes several questionable decisions, with 2HP. Stop doing silly things! If someone sneezes on me, I’m toast! I absolutely cannot get in a fight right now!
By the time all of that is sorted out and we can head home for the first long rest in this adventure, I get the reminder that the Aid spell has run out. You know. The one I forgot. So I’m standing there going … that would have been a really good thing to have remembered before now. Given that it would have added half again to my lifespan down there.
I didn’t get anyone else killed either, which I was a lot more concerned about.
Level 1 characters have no spell slots. Well, no, I had two spell slots. For the whole dungeon, plus the chase scene. I blew one in a panic while trapped with an enemy somewhere flammable (I wanted it dead fast before environmental things started happening) and the second on a mini-boss monster. Which was why, despite playing a cleric, I couldn’t heal myself. If you play this with a spellcaster, be aware that you get one long rest for two dungeons over the course of the book, so pack damage cantrips and/or a good old fashioned clobbering stick. And nab any healing potions provided. After the long rest, I lost a spell slot healing someone else before even getting to the next mission, so I did the second dungeon with exactly one spell slot.
(The second dungeon also has one little puzzle/obstacle that reminded me so much of a particular scene from the Neverending Story. You’ll know it when you come across it. It tickled me pink, once I was sure I wasn’t going to die of it)
The whole adventure is very much about resource management. The most agonising thing is that both dungeons are timed, because they’re missions to get specific objects, and the mission-giver gives you a deadline. So you are constantly weighing the need to explore vs the time it will take to explore. I actually came out with very little loot, because I was so paranoid about time. But you also have to explore, because you’re looking for puzzle pieces and quest items and what have you, so it’s a delicate balancing act.
You are level 1 for this whole book, and you do quite a bit during it. It is definitely a lot of fun. Probably more so if you’re at least comfortable with note-taking and minding your resources. But this book was definitely a very involved couple of evenings playing through, and I enjoyed it quite a bit.
Might try it on a non-caster and see how that goes. You kinda do want some decent mental stats for a lot of the puzzles, though, so as tempted as I am to try it with a barbarian, that might stall out some. Though, that could be the challenge …
Good book! Going to look at book 2 of the series now!
(And yes, my first instinct on making a character, pretty much every time, is to make a cleric. I should probably branch out a bit. I just like clerics)

I finally beat IS3 ending 3 after months and months of trying and never even reaching the final boss.
Big round of applause to our best pink Catto, Susie Glitter.
Girl was stacked with buffs. She had her S3, was camouflaged, had -40% hp +70% arts damage, increased Atk and Atsp for each collectible I had which was over 20, the SP regen ranged square, and increased atsp based on Ingots I had which was over 50.
I don't even know what the final boss does because girlie killed them before they moved more than 2 squares. Just rapid fire demolishing of anything and everything on the field. She pointed. They died. I won.
This is the face of the most efficient killing machine Rhodes Island has ever employed
