After 10 years of craving it, I now present to you... the triple pickle cream pie!

I haven't thought about it for a long time, but then I learned recently that a (terrible) recipe for a pickle cheesecake exists, and I was reminded of the pie in WOY that looked impossibly good to me, and thought if I could make an actually good pickle pie. Two weeks ago I finally got started, and now here we are.

I found a recipe for cucumber-lime pie and mixed it with cream pie instructions. I made it "triple" by putting pickle in the filling (plain cucumber), pickle in the cream (sour-- not salty-- pickle juice and a TON more sugar mixed in), and pickles on the side (Japanese sour ones just as removable garnish). Then I used a graham-cracker pie crust because looking at the pies in the show for some reason always made me nostalgic for those Hershey's sundae pies you could get in slices at certain restaurants-- and they both work better once frozen. I also made the wave pattern with a rubber spatula. I had two different people try it and they said it was honestly not bad! (I thought it tasted pretty alright.) Anyway, it's not perfect, but I'm sure you can all try and experiment with it yourself if you're ambitious and hungry for it enough, haha.

Mane Six + Spike caffeine preference headcanons

Twilight: Black coffee or Starbucks. Drinks three coffees in a row then does a huge study session and can't sleep afterwards.

Rarity: Swears she only drinks decaf tea in front of people but will pop a caffeine pill in her mouth before the first swig.

Applejack: Has a cup of tea every so often but caffeine makes her drowsy at best. Occasionally will drink root beer or cola but it has to be diet. She has sweet tea with lunch.

Pinkie Pie: Bang energy, Red Bull, Reign and Monster. One after another. She hasn't had water in three days.

Fluttershy: Monster iced tea or regular iced tea. Too much makes her anxious.

Rainbow Dash: Jamba juice of every caffeinated drink possible or two boxes of Four Loko in rapid succession.

Spike: Asked Twilight for coffee once, took half a sip and gagged for two straight minutes over it.

Saw the Triple Cheeseburger TV advertisement for McDonald’s Singapore. So here is my Triple Cheeseburger Feast (S$11.40) which came with the burger, Apple Custard Pie, Chargrilled Chicken Flavoured McShaker Fries and a drink. I changed my drink to Iced Milo (top up S$0.05).

The Triple Cheeseburger itself is smallish in size with three layers of juicy beef patties and the same numbers of cheese slice. Topped with savoury onions and refreshing pickles, all sandwiched between a new softer, glazed buns. Taste wise, I love the combination of flavourful beef, creamy cheese and tangy pickles.

The Chargrilled Chicken Flavoured McShaker Fries adds a smoky chargrilled flavour to the crispy golden fries which is pretty impressive. As for the Apple Custard Pie, the new warm custard layer enhanced the sweet crunchy apple filling with a creamier profile which I enjoyed thoroughly. I also gotten mum a ala carte McChicken (S$2.90) since she isn’t too hungry.
