PERSISTENCE IS THE KEY! “oh I’m too tired tonight I’ll try again tomorrow” and trying a new method every night is going to get you NOWHERE. STAY PERSISTENT!

Early Childhood - Persistence leads to Joy!
"The little child who persists in his exercises, concentrated and absorbed, is obviously elaborating the constant man, the man of character, he who will find in himself all human values, crowning that unique fundamental manifestation: persistence in work. Whatever task the child may choose it will be all the same, provided he persists in it. For what is valuable is not the work itself, but the work as a means for the construction of the psychic man." -Maria Montessori

I'm a birb artist who's new to Tumblr, any advice?
honestly the best advice I can say is to stick to your guns, keep drawing, and eventually you'll build an audience for what you do that's unique to you. Also when tagging, the first 5 tags are what count the most, so make sure you use them wisely!

The fact that Ganondorf used the sword that was used to try to execute him in Twilight Princess as his main weapon is so fucking hardcore. The concept of him using the things used to try to kill him... The sword... the chains in some concept art... It's just so in character for him to do.

The WIP project - commit
Tumblr media
Hello writerly friends!
How the hell is it June already? Wasn't it April just yesterday?
In the beginning of this leg of the WIP-Project, I decided for myself that I wouldn't make this once-or-twice weekly letter a whine-fest. But friends, I have to whine a bit today.
How is it June already and how is the novel not even halfway done? Why is this writing thing so slow? I wrote over 10k words in May, but those just made the fanfics grow, not the novels. And then I heard a podcast with Sasha Black talking about writing a novel in thirty days and she had a guest on who writes a novel in a week! A week! Granted, he dictates, which made me and my friendly carpal tunnel feel a little bit better, but still. A week!
Writing a novel that fast has another advantage too. No more reading back "where was I going with this?", "did I foreshadow this already?". No more wondering if I keep telling the same story twice in two novels/fics.
It's obvious where this is going, right? I mean, I'm obviously not going to write a book in a week. Writing is fun, yes, but there are limits. I'm also not going to write 50k in a month, done that, won that, paid the price in writer's block for that.
But for June and July, before the big summer vacation descends on me, I need to get at least one novel done. One. Not two, not three, not fifteen fanfic WIPs. Just one novel. So that's, what, 40k in 50 days? Catchy.
40k in 50 days. That's 800 words per day. Sounds doable, doesn't it?
The reality though is — and I'm a huge fan of working in reality and not in Barbex's writer dreamland — that I write only on four days out of seven per week, give or take a few days. So that gives me roughly 30 days in those 50 days where I actually get to write, brain- and time-wise. That pushes the wordcount on those days up to 1333. That's not too bad though? I was honestly expecting worse.
This is the WIP-Project, where we want to finish our WIPs.
40k in 50 days. Can we do it? Who's with me?
You're picking your own starting point and your own reality average wordcount. And then you commit. Are you with me?
Make a post and shout it out.

currently obsessed with the digimon trading card game. There's no precedence for this and I might not even start playing it but I will watch hundreds of youtube videos fantasizing about being brave enough to submit myself to the mortifying ordeal of going to a game store

Pluma headcanons:
Pluma doesn't truly find an interest in really younger men (early twenties). Though she doesn't mind if they find her attractive, she'd never pursue a relationship with someone so young be it sexual or otherwise. Lust & love are two different things. She sees young men as horny teenagers & genuinely thinks they just want a little fling with her instead of a relationship. To add, even 25+ is a bit morally ambiguous to her. Pluma, though she looks quite young, is nearing her forties, so she feels guilty if she feels attracted to someone in their mid or late twenties.
The only relationship Pluma ever had was the one with her (ex)husband, Florián Yoon. The only romance, the only lover & the only (ex)husband. So she doesn't have a lot of experience. Even her sex life was uneventful since they had children & didn't have a lot of time for such things. She gave up everything for her children & truth be told, she'd do it again in a heartbeat.
It is doubtful she'd ever act on her desires if she ever fell for someone. She thinks she is too old for romance, too old for anything, really. There had been plenty of bachelors throughout the years who wanted to wed her & make her happy. But Pluma always said no. She thought that if her son didn't get to be happy, then neither did she. So, she never pursued a new life or a 'new family' because her son never got to experience it.
