When you're first teleported to the Devildom, your reaction is to say a prayer. It falls off your lips so easily. Call it old habits, call it shock. You're even surprised by it yourself, staring wide-eyed at Diavolo as the prayer slips your lips.
“Be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil.”
Everyone is shocked. The prayer in itself doesn't really have that much of an effect, your dear god cannot save you here (not that you expected him to), but a deep shiver runs down Lucifer's back. It's safe to say he hasn't heard that prayer in a while.
As if isn’t enough that you just prayed for protection against the devil, the prayer that mindlessly slipped out of you is the prayer to the archangel Michael. It strikes a deep cord within Lucifer. He doesn’t blame you, per se, he’s just very very shocked.
He takes it like a challenge, even if he isn’t aware of it. He’ll question your faith constantly. You aren’t really interested in getting into your religious beliefs with this stranger, not to mention demon, who practically kidnapped you. So you just kind of ignore his questions or avoid them.
“Were you born into religion or did you find it later in life?”
“What?” You look at Lucifer tiredly, trying to bottle your annoyance. That’s the fifth question he’s asked today, despite you expertly avoiding his last four.
You’re in his office, seated at a chair in front of his desk. He pulled you in, saying you couldn’t leave until you did the homework you’d been skillfully neglecting. Lovely education reform.
“Were you born into religion or did-“ Lucifer begins to repeat. He seems rather immune to your annoyance, seemingly thinking his pursuit of your personal information is justified. You’ve come to find that Lucifer generally thinks that anything he does is completely justified.
“I heard you.” you interrupt and send him a tight-lipped smile. “I just didn’t want to answer you.” you follow up. Lucifer tilts his head to the side, red eyes piercing through you.
“Why not?” he asks. You sigh. Does this man never run out of questions? “You’re never going to get my approval if you don’t let me get to know you.” he lazily states, flipping some of the worksheets on his desk.
You close your eyes and take a deep breath. You really don’t wanna get into it but you do need his approval if you want to help the brothers and Belphegor…
“I was born into it. My parents are very religious,” you state while staring at your homework, not daring to make eye contact. It feels as though his eyes are burning holes into you. A small hum leaves Lucifer. “Very interesting, indeed,” he says, voice sounding almost melodic. When you finally look up at him, he’s grinning, while twirling his pen with his fingers. He thinks he’s won this round. Stupid prick.
Months later, when you’re lying in his bed with his arms wrapped around you, you finally breach the subject. “I was in postulancy for a while,” you say, completely out of the blue. You’re laying on his chest with his arm around your waist, the other caressing your hair.
You feel his body tensing underneath you for a few seconds before he softens again. You look up at him but he’s staring at the ceiling. “I practically grew up in the church. Mass every Sunday, youth choir every Tuesday, summer camp once a year…”
You lay your head on his chest again, looking at the wall. Lucifer doesn’t say anything, but his fingers move from your hair to rub soothing patterns into your back, encouraging you to continue. “It seemed the natural next step for me to become a nun. My entire community was the church. My parents were so proud as well. Their status in the church meant everything to them.”
A lump grows in your throat. “Sorry, I haven’t talked about this in so long, I’m rambling-“ you whisper. Lucifer's hand moves from your back to your chin, turning your head towards him. “Don’t apologize, little lamb. I am very proud of you for opening up to me,” he says and your breath slightly hitches. He smiles fondly at you and strokes your cheek. His smile then fades slowly. “It occurs to me that I haven’t been fair to you. I’m sorry that I was so insensitive when we met.”
You huff. “You were a dick,” Lucifer glares at you and pinches your cheek. “Now, now. I’ve admitted my faults, let’s not delve into it,” he says and you wince, gripping his hand and intertwining your fingers.
“Yeah, yeah, old man, I’ll consider if you deserve my forgiveness,” you say and settle your head on his chest again. A small chuckle vibrates through Lucifer before a comfortable silence falls over you.
“What made you change your mind? Why aren’t you a nun, my little lamb?” he asks after a while. You think for a while, looking at your intertwined hands. His thumb presses small circles into the back of your hand.
“It just didn’t feel right, I guess,” you mumble. Lucifer nods. “Well, I, for one, am glad you didn’t go through with it. It would all be terribly complicated if you were already in a relationship with my Father.”
You let out a surprised laughter and push yourself up so your face is directly over his. His hands settle on your hips, thumbs tracing patterns into your bare skin, where your shirt has ridden up. “What a weird thing to say,” you giggle and Lucifer's brows furrow. “Well, it’s true-“ he begins, but your lips press to his before he can continue his weird family rambles. It’s a chaste kiss and you quickly press another to the corner of his lips and then one to his cheek and jaw.
After that, Lucifer is very gentle with you on the subject. He never prods or questions and only talks about it if you start the conversation. He'll even subtly change the topic if someone else brings it up. It's like a little secret between the two of you when he sends you confidential glances, making your heart flutter.
You're in a beautiful meadow. The sky is purple and you're wearing a heavy rosary with white beads around your neck. A pack of doves fly above you, circling like vultures. They begin diving for you, pecking you with their beaks, pulling at your skin and hair. You try to shield yourself with your arms, but it's useless against the many doves, plunging down. Their shrieks fill your ears and you cover your ears, but it's useless, the sound ringing in your head. You try to run, but the rosary has grown in size, pulling you down towards the ground.
You wake with a fright, covered in sweat. Your breathing is heavy as you gasp for air. You put your face in your hands and run them through your hair. Your heart is beating harshly against your ribcage. Lucifer. You need to go to Lucifer.
You stagger towards his room, weakly knocking on his door. "Come in," he sounds from the other side. You brace yourself against the door. "Lucy," you weakly say and the door immediately opens causing you to practically fall into him.
In a flash, you're in his lap on his couch. He worriedly grabs your face and examines you. "What's wrong, my love?" he asks and you wrap your arms around him, sinking your face into the crook of his neck. "Nightmare," you mumble. You feel Lucifer physically relaxing underneath you as he wraps his arms around you, pulling you impossibly closer. You feel your heartbeat slowing, as you're finally able to relax again.
"Wanna tell me about it?" he asks and you explain your dream, voice muffled against his skin. His hand finds your collarbone and he pushes you, just far enough so he can press his forehead against your own. You pout and furrow your brows. "It was so real, I swear I can still feel their beaks on my skin."
"Where do you feel it?" Lucifer asks and you shrug. "Everywhere..." His gaze is soft as he grabs your hand, bringing it to his lips. "You feel them here?" he asks, pressing a kiss to your knuckles. His lips trail up your arm. "Here?" he asks, eyes still on you. You nod and he presses a kiss to your arm. "Your shoulder as well?"
"Yes," Another kiss is pressed into your shoulder, then your collar bone, your neck, your jaw, your cheeks, your nose. You let out a giggle and he presses a last kiss to your forehead. "Did I miss anywhere?" he asks and you nod. His eyebrows raise. "Really? Where?" he ponders and you bring his thumb to your lips. "Here," you say and this time you're the one pressing a small kiss to his fingertip.
"Oh," Lucifers says, eyes following your every move. He takes a sharp breath and pulls on your bottom lip. "We can't have that, now can we?" he says and you shake your head. He leans and kisses you and you kiss him back slowly.
"Thank you, Lucy,"
"I'll always be here, my love,"

this man 100% plays guitar in a band - specifically electric guitar and he’ll play for you often (he acts like he doesn’t like doing it but he sooooo does). he even coaxes the band’s songwriter into letting him slip a song he wrote for you onto the band’s next album.
he definitely paints his nails black, he lets you do them sometimes but he’ll complain that you’re ‘too messy.’ he grins when you’re focusing on his nails, watching all your little mannerisms when you’re focusing and the way you hold his hands.
when it comes to sharing a bed, it always sticks to one side and he’ll whine every night when you come to ‘his side’ for cuddles - like, seriously just go away - but when you fall asleep curled up into his side, he’ll be silent as to not wake you up again, listening contently to your breaths.

lyney 100% wakes up earlier than you to make you breakfast, bringing it to you in bed with a cheeky grin on his face when he mumbles french petnames and praises as he presses kisses to you face while you’re still waking up.
whenever he annoys you in one way or another, whether it is just after an argument or not, he’ll use his ‘magic’ to randomly summon roses. you’re not sure how he does it in a cheesy attempt at apologising and cheering you up but you can’t help but smile a little at the action.
always takes you on elaborate dates from the moment you get together, fingers laced together as he takes you to see operas, musicals, whimsical nights stargazing or an expensive night at a highly rated restaurant. he doesn’t settle for any less than what he values you at - which is the most expensive, precious soul in the world.

Guess who underestimated the homework his teachers would leave her before Easter?
It was me 😍 and I lived the great experience of sleeping 3 hours (I don't recommend it, don't be like me) but thank God Easter finally arrived. I don't know if this happen in Brazil but México is too catholic to exist and if you are a student you have 1 beautiful week off because Jesus did his thing Hehehehe
Fun fact about me. It took me years to realize that the USA bunnies and eggs were for Easter. Like my head couldn't comprehend that we celebrate in theory the same thing or something similar because here instead of chocolate eggs there is blood, destruction and rebirth and stuff like that hahaha
Well, I will stop rambling about that and I'd better start rambling about our eternal debates.
Every time Coriolanus saw Persephone I had to laugh. Im so sorry 😭😭😭😭, I understand that it was a really traumatic experience to see a man mutilate a body to commit anthropophagy and not only he did it, Baby Persefone also ate ate human flesh unknowingly (although that's the most tragic thing about it you know? it's implied that Nero Price resorted to such an extreme measure because he had a family to feed, and the man may be named Nero -you can deduce a lot of things from that-, but I can't help but want to give him a hug because no one deserves to have to live through such anguish, all to avoid Baby Perse dying of famine ahhhh) but I just can't help but laugh when the poor girl is just existing and Coriolanus is screaming in his head "she's going to eat me, she's going to eat me, she's going to eat me"
Like dude. Thats a teenager who lived through war and famine in her childhood, not Hannibal Lecter 😭😭😭😭😭
While we know very little about Persephone outside of that incident, she strikes me as a pretty sweet girl by Capitol standards. I don't recall us having a description where she had an overbearing attitude (like Juno, oh she lives in my head for free) or made dehumanizing comments concerning the tributes.
In fact she was quite sorry about Arachne's death, and even though Coryo was being a jerk to her, Persephone gave him a hug under the impression that he was one of those most affected by said event.
She sent food and water to Mizzen every time he asked for it and in abundance. She teamed up with Festus to put together a joint strategy for their tributes to have a better chance of getting out alive and when the drone mess happened she wanted to talk diplomatically with Dr. Gaul because they were hacked and what she sent to Mizzen didn't arrive (and later the boy died) 🥺
Also Persephone is one of those who asks about Coriolanus when he is sent to D12. And the thing is, yes, I think all the mentors have a lot of potential to explore but under the specific theme of "people from the academy who could have been friends with Sejanus", Persefone seems like a good choice to me.
Especially because they have a lot of similarities in their relationship with Coriolanus: he pretends to like Sejanus and Persephone when in reality he is terrified of both of them and has contempt for them.
Besides the fact that she is Coriolanus' neighbor offers a LOT OF POTENTIAL 🤭 does she even know or suspect the Snows situation?, does she know and get along with Tigris?, wouldn't you love a snowjanus fanfic where they secretly date but she is the only one who knows they are boyfriends because she has seen Sejanus there all the time? MY GIRL PERSE IS JUST WAITING TO BE NOTICED!!!!
Speaking of academy students I'M SO GLAD YOU SEE THE VIEW ON PUP 😭 It's a somewhat cruel hc because damn he's been to Sejanus' house, he's experienced first hand the kindness of the Plinth and yet he resents it. He resents it because his father forced him to spend time with the scum of the district, because he's met him and realized in a way that none of his other peers know how different and vulnerable Sejanus is. It's fucked up. Very fucked up.
🤣 On the contrary I think Strabo and Pliny could get along really well, which is terrible for the whole family but also a hc too much fun to pass up. Btw I think it would be realistic for Mr Harrington to meet Crassus. Pls get together from time to time to do hate hour club towards Crassus (they don't invite Casca because he is too stoned but if he was sober oh boi what they could have done and what Sejanus would have suffered from having THE DEAN be a bitchy about a dead men with his father LMAO...)
As I mentioned to Crassus and Casca I think this is the time to discuss it because BUDDIE I HAVE SO MUCH TO SAY. I love the very realistic aspect of absent or present parents, the past to say the least haunting and shaping the youth causing unintentionally events to repeat themselves - giving rise to very similar circumstances, continuing behaviors and ideologies (I wouldn't say History repeats itself because I'm a little historian in training and I get the pet peeve...)
IS VERY INTENSE.
The case of Coriolanus and Crassus is in my opinion one of the points that best reflects the discussion Suzanne mentioned wanting to explore with TBOSAS: nature vs. the environment. At what point does culture dictate nature and vice versa. Like Marina's song: Savages. Which is very deterministic in several aspects but I highlight this phrase:
Is it running in our blood? Is it running in our veins?
Is it running in our genes? Is it in our DNA?
Humans aren't gonna behave as we think we always should
Yeah, we can be bad as we can be good
Coriolanus did not know Crassus. And yet his influence over him is overwhelming. Which is quite striking when you consider that he knows NOTHING that tells him who his father really was, only the impression and roles that man played in other people's lives.
His grandmother told him of an exemplary son, a patriotic man, a Snow. Tigris spoke to him of a cold man, of someone full of hatred and terrifying. Casca spoke to him of the worst human being who ever walked the earth, of a traitor, cruel and wicked. And Strabo of someone who hated the people of the district and enigmatic.
All Coriolanus has are fragments and he has had to reconstruct his father from them.
That image is full of holes that Coriolanus had to actually fill in with himself. So while upbringing does influence character (the grandmother's role in Coriolanus' care, the woman who made Crassus, the Capitol itself and its ways), I think what ultimately determines his following in his father's footsteps is that he actually built him - his father - based on cultural and social aspects to which he had access so that being like him in such a similar way was something achievable.
I do not know if it is understood (and I think that the excess of homework made me lose my communication skills), but I mean that as Coriolanus does not really know who his father was, and can only try to define him through others who denounce him based on a social or cultural norm, to which he can aspire to pursue it is possible then that he can follow in his footsteps.
If Crassus were alive, if he were flesh and blood, capable of contradicting or affirming these denunciations on the basis of his coexistence with society, Coriolanus could not have been like him. He would have reacted to a living and unpredictable something because Crassus would be a flawless human.
And that mean something. Like Coriolanus idealizing his in a very strange way because she is dead, she is not a human anymore..., although all this argument is under the idea that your context shapes you. And we can't really ignore biology: Coriolanus bears a strong resemblance to Crassus physically. So how far do genetics go in determining character? When he was born blond and with blue eyes - the eyes of his father - was his fate sealed?
(As we know and you explained well when we discussed the choice of Coriolanus as protagonist: the final answer for Suzanne I think is a 50% - 50% and emphasizing that the important, the determining factor really lies in our own criteria and the choices we make and what each one of them implies and the responsibility we acquire of what socio-cultural ideas we decide to perpetuate).
Now my very personal opinion on Crassus and Casca.
While I like to slander the Snow's as much as anyone in this specific case I like to believe that there were no bad intentions because that makes it more fucked up lmao. I think Crassus genuinely liked Casca and actually believed he was doing his friend a favor since Casca mentions he was doing poorly in Dr. Gaul's class.
So think of it this way: Crassus knows his friend is in danger of missing class. They team up to do a paper in said class and on a night of drinking Casca is suddenly sharing a good idea, one that Dr. Gaul might specifically like!!!, it was his chance!!!!!
Crassus just needed to write a nice paper with what Casca his bestie already told him. "I'm sure Casca would thank me, I gave him the encouragement he needed to get his smart brain to think of something to avoid having a bad grade with dr. Gaul!!!!!" Yippee 😊
It's that horrible things happen because of good wills that to me is fascinating. Because Crassus had no way of knowing that they were going to go to war with the districts. Much less that the Capitol would win said war and that Dr. Gaul would implement the college project they did so they wouldn't lost grades
In what world would that happen?
I can tell you from experience but there is no more terrifying hotbed for atrocities than academia and its constant theorizing, hypothesizing, perhaps. People will say ABSOLUTELY WILD things as long as they view everything hypothetically.
Which is what Casca does. What Crassus sees and approves. And what Gaul implements because she knows best, how the world works.
I think Casca / Crassus in any case is a parallel to Clemensia / Coriolanus because Coryo also didn't believe that doing Dr. Gaul's work and lying about Clemensia's participation in it was going to bring such fatal consequences for her. And if you notice all the mentors didn't believe that they were actually going to implement their ideas.
They were surprised that dr. Gaul told them it was a possibility: it was at that instant that they discovered that the idea could cross the mind's field and become real.
As an aside. I once saw on tiktok a very interesting question and it was exactly at what point Casca will have started to hate Crassus? We know they argued after that incident but Casca could not have condemned Crassus at that point for the reasons he later does (creating the hunger games).
Maybe he complained because he got him drunk!!!, because he didn't write the paper right!!!, or because he didn't need to be saved from losing a grade with Dr. Gaul!!! (And I can very well see Crassus getting upset because: "what is wrong with Casca?!!!!!! I helped him and this is how he repays ME? How ungrateful!) but not because he ruined his life and condemned the districts.
Nah. That came later. Maybe when the first games happened, a youthful bitterness turned into Casca eternal condemnation.
With this, I don't want to say that I am against Casca / Crassus and Sejanus / Coriolanus parallels. ON THE CONTRARY I LOVE THEM VERY MUCH!
In short, I can't help but wonder what Casca must have felt when he saw Sejanus blindly trusting a Snow. If he must have wanted to warn him or if every time he saw them together he thought of him and Crassus (the phrase "like a moth to the flame?," he projects himself). IT IS DELICIOUS AND CRUEL
A PART. See all the ideas we discussed about Sejanus' unfortunate fate if he had stayed in the Capitol?, most of them I got from Casca because I'm sure THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN SEJANUS IF HE HAD STAYED.
Casca mentions that he tried to stop the games JULI!!! HE TRIED! AND MANY TIMES. We don't know what those attempts consisted of but we know they failed and not only that but they blew it. That man had a big guilt eating him alive and somehow everyone let him be a drug addict in an academy full of sons of the elite? I'm telling you that happened because they wanted it to happen!
Someone gave him morphiling. Someone gave him access to a dosis everyday. Someone let him become an addict without ever helping him get sober. Someone let him "embarrass" himself in front of other people, especially children.
Someone did everything they could so that NO ONE WOULD TAKE CASCA SERIOUSLY, so that he would self-destruct *I roll on the floor in consparanoia*
Well I'm normal again. I'll just say that this infodump is kind of like spoilers for the wedding fic because those are my headcanons and you'll ultimately see them there...
About the fandom and the movies:
Really the tribute actors deserve a lot of appreciation because they did wonders AND GOD YES I AM OBSESSED BY HOW AMAZING THE MARCUS ACTOR WAS. THE GUY DIDN'T EVEN SPEAK ONCE TO SEJANUS BUT HIS EXPRESSIVITY????! ughhh yes yes yes you are so right about the angeeer, the tiredness HE EXPRESS
😭😭 As you are also right about how much small changes contribute greatly to the quit any politic aspect of the films. Because even if they are one page or one line details, they were put there to help better convey the big message and getting rid of them, makes the story lose its intentions and strength (especially the choice of cast we already saw with Rue's case, that can provoke strong reactions and questioning, Katniss being played by someone POC would have raised a worse stir but at the same time would have forced an interesting questioning).
In def I think the biggest flaws of THG movies were the choice of main cast (except Peeta althought with this I dont mean I hate the main cast. I believe they were infredible!!! 🥺 but ugh the big message really feel and come a lot lest), focusing on the love triangle (that was so dumb... The triangle ITS LITERALLY ALMOST NON EXISTING IN THE BOOKS) and getting rid of the more disruptive parts (NEVER SHUT UP ABOUT DISABLE PEETA). I'm not surprised that happened, in fact that approach is the one that allowed the books to be adapted to the big screen: because those aspects respond to the market and its tastes.
It's the way you ensure a profit, a business, and although as people have grown older they have begun to appreciate THG more for its denouncing content, the truth is that I'm sure many of us approached the franchise because it seemed on the surface to be something far away and impossible, that had little to do with reality.
Because many products today are like that. Made by and for consumption, just like that.
Which brings me to fandom BECAUSE I NEED TO STUDY THEM / STUDY US. WE ARE SUCH AN INTERESTING CASE
Because you will see these people growing up reading extremely political books while consuming apolitical movies and then you find them in tiktok repeating propaganda and prejudices that the original work criticizes and denounces (both: 1. within the text. Perfect example: this point of people not understanding what Coriolanus does not despise privilege nor wealth but Sejanus having it and coming from the district -btw I agree with you on that. You EXPLAIN SO WELL WHAT REALLY HAPPEN AND MEANS.
2. Outside the text. Again LO DE RUE when her cast was announced???? Its a very sad but perfect example).
The human mind is fascinating. This thing you keep saying about the "death of the media's understanding", is a symptom of a larger issue that ends up clearly impacting how fans will interpret and interact with the text and the film, and that combines with each individual's experiences to get a particular albeit fucked up compression on what THG-TBOSAS means 😭 *scream*
Now.
I think we're all set to forget the angst and focus on the beautiful fix everything Latam Au. It's like happy hour, the candy world where no one gets ripped away from everything they know and forced to deal with violent xenophobia or engage in a macabre game to the death against other children that if you win will FUCK YOU FOREVER <3
I LOVE THAT LGB AND CORAL CAN UNDERSTAND EACH OTHER SO INTIMATELY ON SUCH A DIFFICULT SUBJECT AND HELP EACH OTHER!!!! Raising children as an adult is hard enough but you being both a child, a young person? Because the cousins are still close. Tigris always felt pressured not only to meet the expectations of her own parents (I don't think they were strict or cold but the type support her and are proud? the casting for tbosas is amazing, all of the actors give their lives for these characters, but the TRIBUTES, ALL OF THEM DESERVE EVERYTHING. EVERYTHING, REALLY.

I'm not really against casting actors who are different from the book characters, unless we're talking about whitewashing. the thing is, if they kept the descriptions we're given in the book AT LEAST about the seam characters, it would've made a HUGE different in the storytelling. and I agree, I DEFINITELY don't hate the main cast, in the end, I think they did a great job (specially josh hutcherson, he was such a good choice for peeta), but it really weakned some of the messages from the book... and abt the love triangle, the thing is, this was not even the most evil thing of the hunger games marketing from that time 😭 I know it's a common thing that the movie needs to make money, and that capitalism is a bitch, but idk, it's so WEIRD seeing some of the stuff that were marketed around the release time of the movies, specially when we're talking abt a movie like the hunger games.

oh and absolutely 😭 SPECIALLY people who did the reverse way, and by that, I mean reading/watching divergent first and THEN reading/watching the hunger games. don't get me wrong, I'm not a 100% divergent hater (even tho I do have my beef with it), but the dystopia in the book is much more of a background thing than a way to denounce stuff. what matters the most is the romance and the characters... where in the hunger games, it's exactly opposite.

Can we have headcanons about Apollo and his relationship with the fates (definitely not because i miss my sunshine boy) considering Apollo is the god of Prophecy and he tricked them once into letting one of his favorite mortals live in exchange for someone else
whew. ok. this one has been in the inbox for a while because i couldn't think of anything but i've given it some thought recently and this is what i came up with:
first of all. so Apollo's prophetic lineage can be traced back to the titanide Phoebe who was the original goddess of the Oracle of Delphi.
now Phoebe's grandchildren include Hekate, Apollo, and Artemis. so i want to digress and talk a bit about Hekate for a second.
Hekate is associated with witchcraft and magic and crossroads and whatever else, and her mother is Asteria, Leto's sister. and Asteria, of course, was married to the titan Perses until Perses got locked up in Tartarus when Kronos was overthrown and so i've always hc'd that Asteria raises Hekate by herself... and i think Hekate is obviously quite a bit older than Artemis and Apollo.
so, when Leto finally has Artemis and Apollo, i really like the idea of Leto and Asteria living together and raising their children together... and i do like the idea of Apollo and Hekate naturally bonding because they both have that darker magic-y oracle-y side to them.
anyhow. Hekate is associated a lot with the Underworld, and i super super love the idea of Hekate spending a lot of time in the House of Nyx with Nyx learning magic from her. i think Asteria would take her down there sometimes...
so i think Nyx and her children have a really good bond with Asteria and Hekate.... they're not indifferent to Asteria and Hekate the way they are with most of the other Olympians and Titans.
now, Phoebe is the Oracle and she has great oracular (is that a word??) abilities, and so she can give Apollo a lot of her wisdom. but, being a Titan, i think she's quite old at this stage, and i do like the idea that the power of the Oracle wanes with time as new Oracles appear and the power of "fortune-telling" shifts across generations. so, since Apollo now has the Gift, it is a lot weaker for Phoebe.
so i think Asteria has an idea to take Apollo to the House of Nyx to see the only goddesses who's fortune-telling power does NOT wane-- the Fates.
i hc that Zeus approves of this idea too. he has a steady relationship with the Fates because he's the King and he consults with them often anyhow,, and so he figures it'd be good for Apollo to know them also.
thus, Leto brings Apollo to Nyx's house and to the Fates and the three sisters teach Apollo all they know about fate and destiny... and they teach him how dreams are made and how they can be messages, and how dangerous it is to play with fate.
and so Apollo grows up with the knowledge he has gained from his grandmother Phoebe and from the Fates as well.
now we know Apollo wasn't always the guy who abides by the book-- according to Aeschylus, he gets the Fates drunk to convince them to spare his love Admetus' life because he was fated to die, and they agree IF he can find a replacement.
i've always imagined the Fates are very ancient and old (see more Fates hc's here),, and even though they have a playful side, i'm sure that they don't take very kindly to people trying to mess around with fate.
in saying that, i don't think they do much by way of "punishment"... they're advisors, counsellors; not harbingers of justice. so i think, they would be really annoyed with Apollo,, but they wouldn't just entirely drop him from the book of friendship. i think their relationship would just be a bit strange.
however; i also don't think that the Fates and Apollo are besties to begin with... like i said, i think the Fates were more of a teacher to him... and not regular teachers either. just every now and then. so i wouldn't call them "friends" really... just friendly acquaintances.

IK y’all like this bitch been reblogging and liking shit yet not posting. It was SO HARD finding the motivation to write on mobile and it kinda turned me off from writing. IK IK it’s bougie as hell. But I got myself a little summer job ting and....they delayed me by another few weeks cause they aint pay me like they was supposed to. But I got lucky, and got a new laptop! It’s so musch crispier and faster than my last old ass big ass bulky ass laptop.
My whole thing is sorry for the delay and I promise to get these part 2′s, and drafts together and to clear out my inbox. Now I truly have no excuse.

Happy New Year, from the mods here at Haus of Perses to all of you, whether in our group or just scrolling the tags. I am HOPING that with the changes Tumblr's making to the editing system that roleplaying becomes once again easier (think before they started changing everything ages ago - back during the golden age of Tumblr rp), but we shall see how that one goes as it's rolled out more. To writers looking for a group to belong to, Haus of Perses has a phenomenal cast of characters, and our members are superb. Do you have any tips on feeling better about writing about plurality? I feel extremely nervous writing splitting, co-con, etc. in ways I've experienced in because I'm nervous a "real system" will come and call me a faker for it.
Do you also have any tips for how to write a host realizing they're a persecutor? From a Host-Perse that's looking to write for comfort. I personally realized from being told but idk how to really properly write that because the events leading up to it was weird stuff, so the confusion that led to me being told wouldn't be the same for characters.
Sorry if this is all too specific, just needed a little bit of assistance and maybe a tad of comfort but meh.
This ask is a little old and has been sitting neglected in our inbox for a couple weeks, sorry! All of these questions are a bit difficult for any of us mods to answer, from what I can tell, so I’m just gonna do my best.
My strategy for writing plurality in general, and to combat system doubt, is to just say "screw it," and do it. I know that can be difficult for those of us who aren't as impulsive and brash as I am, but for me, it works. Just trust in yourself: if you know you're not faking, you can say screw it and ignore all the haters. Just block them if they come your way, and forget about the trash they spew. (Just don't get the hate confused with genuine critique of your works, but those should have an obvious difference.)
Another strategy is what you're doing right now: research. You're asking other people for their experiences. Do that. It's helpful in writing anything, especially things you don't know much about. If you do this, then the "real systems" will have no leg to stand on, since you're not writing from only your experiences. They can't call you a faker for that.
Now, as for the Host-Perse*, this is a bit of a sensitive subject so bear with me. My first tip for writing a host persecutor is to write a persecutor. Just a persecutor. Don't think about how they're a host until after you know what the persecutor part of them is like. Or the reverse: write a host who just has a couple bad habits that they need to work on. Keep it simple at the start, then you can practice writing that kind of character. Don't dive directly into the deep end, just wade through the shallows and get used to the water.
I wish you luck and well in your writing. Don't stress too much, just write. :>

Insomnia sucks, but do not dread! Demons do not need as much sleep as humans, which means they can devote plenty of time to helping you fall asleep instead!
The first thing Lucifer notices is the delayed reflexes and clumsiness. He originally thinks it’s just because you’re a human. Then he notices that you're quite frustrated with it which confuses him, because if that's the standard for humans then surely you'd be used to it, right? Still, he decides to observe you for a little while, before he confronts you.
It all collides one morning, when you drop your cup of coffee and burn your wrist, causing you to wince. Lucifer is immediately there, tending to you. "Are you hurt? Do you need ice on it?" You pull your hand to yourself and bite your lip, frustrated with it all. "I'm fine," you say, but now that he's close to you he finally notices the bags around your eyes. "Why do you look so tired?" he asks. You blink at him, baffled by his bluntness. "Just haven't been sleeping right," you eventually answer.
He immediately brainstorms how he can fix it. Do you need a new bed? Another pillow? Is the temperature in your room alright? He's very attentive after that and always assures you that the door to his office is open whenever you can't sleep.
Mammon notices that you have a hard time paying attention or focusing. You seem to doze off and stare into space often. He'll wave his hands in front of you. "Hey, human, you payin' attention?" he'll say and pout at you. He's such a whiner when your full attention isn't on him. "Sorry, Mams, I'm just tired," you say. "Yeah? Feel free to come to my room if you can't sleep," he'll offer an wink, despite his cheeks heating up.
He honestly doesn't expect you to take him up on his offer until he hears your soft knocking on his door. He immediately stumbles out of bed and throws his door open, grinning widely. When he catches your dissatisfied sleepy face, he tries to hold back a bit on his delight, obviously your discomfort is not a good thing, but he can't help being ecstatic that you're actually in his bed.
Leviathan notices because you always stay up really late with him to play video games. Don’t get him wrong, he likes playing with you, like a lot, but whenever he suggests going to bed, you always refuse. “One more game, please, Levi?” Come on, how can he say no to you? It’s just that one game always turns into three and the next thing he knows you’ve played for another hour.
One day he gathers up enough courage to ask you why and when you tell him you can’t fall asleep he immediately softens up. “Well, I, uh, so do you want to, maybe, I don’t know, sleep here?” His face is flushed but he insists that maybe it’ll be easier for you to sleep in the tub instead of your bed. You do sleep better that night, but it's not because of the tub, it's more because of Levi's calming breath and the slow heaving of his chest when he sleeps. After that, you often stay the night when you've played video games together and on the nights you have a particularly hard time falling asleep, you just lay there and listen to him sleep.
Satan reads for you until you fall asleep. He doesn't care how long it takes, he'll let you lay on his chest, while he reads for literal hours and he doesn't stop until he's absolutely sure that you're sleeping.
Like with sleepy MC, he'll begin to research why you can't sleep. He'll ask you if you're feeling stressed, offer to do your homework or if he needs to tell Lucifer to give you fewer chores. If he catches you drinking coffee or energy drinks, he'll tell you that those can actually worsen your sleep quality.
It gets to a point were you have to tell him that he's being kinda annoying about it. He'll frown and apologize. "I was just trying to help but I see that I might have overstepped." He's being dramatic here. Give him a couple of kisses and he's back at it again.
Whenever you wake too early in the morning and simply cannot lay in bed any longer Asmodeus is the one you go to. He's always up early, doing his skincare routine. He lets you sit in his bed, wrapped up in blankets, all bleary-eyed and with messy hair, while he’ll sit by his vanity. He thinks you look absolutely lovely, so sleepy and he'll look at you through the mirror, fighting the urge to smile and accidentally ruin his make-up.
Once he's done, he'll bring you to his chair and offer to do your skincare or makeup if you wear that. He'll take extra care, messaging your skin and shoulders. The sensation sometimes almost lulls you back to sleep.
Beelzebub absolutely hates it when you're cranky or depressed. "What's wrong?" he'll ask and when you tell him it's just because you didn't get any sleep, he gets quite confused. Humans get cranky if they don't get enough sleep? That seems awfully inconvenient...
I like to think that Beel is one of the best cuddlers of the brothers. He just has that build you know? He'll spoon you, wrap his arm around your waist and press kisses to your hair. If you ask, he'll tell you stories about his brothers, slowly lowering his voice to a point where it's just a low whisper. He waits till your breathing slows and he knows you're asleep. Then he'll kiss your head good night and go to sleep himself.
When you tell Belphegor that you have trouble sleeping, he doesn’t really understand you. What do you mean you can’t sleep? But you’re tired? Just go to bed?
Honestly, he’s kind of annoying about it but when he realizes that you genuinely just cannot sleep he apologizes. I don’t remember if this is ever addressed in the game, but I like to think that being around Belphegor actually makes humans kind of sleepy and because of that, naps are really nice with him because you actually manage to get some proper sleep.
Sometimes, Belphie and Beel team up and you all sleep together in the attic. You'll have Belphie facing you, face hidden in the crook of your neck, arms wrapped around you tightly. Then you'll have Beel behind you, an arm thrown over the both of you. It's the perfect combo, that helps you actually sleep through the night.

Perse overblot just being her dressed like a Greek goddess with thorns all over her body and dress; everything around her being consumed plants and flowers making all the machines in Ignihyde stop working and/or breaking, and then Ortho has to take care of himself bc if those plants catch him he'll be in big trouble and Idia starts to freak out as well bc if he loses someone else he might go insane
