i think like. so much would be solved if we normalized the fact that some people do experience delusions and hallucinations. like yes, its something that those people need help with/need more accommodations for, but we could use being more understanding of people with psychotic symptoms in general.
like, i can tell you that at least one person raving about conspiracy theories is someone who experiences delusions, and if we understood that, we wouldn't have such a hard time getting them back to a more grounded perspective.
i am someone who experiences delusions and I do get incredibly triggered by all the unreality bullshit, the simulation theories, all that unreal bullshit, and it is actively negatively impacting people like me.
we could really use a better understanding of those with these symptoms, because acting like having hallucinations/delusions makes you a killer is a take that makes zero sense. Like, genuinely, you have no idea what you're talking about if that's where you immediately go. I can point out a bunch of shit discussing the darkness of humanity and that logic applies to anyone, regardless of mental illness. Delusions and hallucinations don't mean you'll act on anything, it just means that your brain is creating false images or thoughts, and that can get really fucking confusing.
We could use a little more empathy or compassion towards those with these symptoms, because obviously this shit isn't going away for us, just like other disabled people dealing with their disabilities. We are not idiots or monsters, our brain just gives us random false shit sometimes and it really fucking sucks. Be more understanding or I'll telepathically insert false shit into your brain one day, y'all should see the nightmare that some of us have to deal with.
I don't think kids really need to be protected from "inappropriate" content so much as they need the tools and safe adults in their lives to handle when they encounter things that they need help with, BUT I will say that there is a growing amount of misinformation and disinformation being spread online that is deliberately targeted towards children and people need to be aware of that and prepare for it.
I'm not exaggerating in the slightest when I say it took about a week of watching Youtube Kids for my baby sister to start parroting Q-Anon level conspiracies about the government hiding the fact that extinct animals like wooly mammoths and saber tooth tigers are still alive. This wasn't innocent shit, she was getting genuinely upset about the government supposedly watching her through the security cameras of a sandwich restaurant.
There are people out there, especially content farms, who knowingly and deliberately spread misinformation to children specifically and who knowingly spread disinformation about basic scientific facts. And that's not even getting into content farms that share "life hacks" that get kids injured or killed.
The internet is becoming more dangerous for kids and it has very little to do with fanfiction, it's almost all because corporations like youtube prioritize their profits over the safety of children.
so: kumasawa was meant to be suspected but she ultimately did not kill kanon because if she had it wouldn't be spelled out as a theory like this. but kanon was still killed in the boiler room and every other person on rokkenjima has an alibi, and this "impossible" thing was done in a way clearly in accordance with beatrice's plans.
Yanno imo this was never explained, they KNOW Virgil's name at this point....why is he SO snarly about Janus bringing up him being reluctant to tell them his name? also the "takes a liar to know a liar" statement VIrigl never "lied" by not telling them his name. unless he is lying about something now and he IS more than JUST Anxiety plus almost everyone else has other functions too so him JUST being Anxiety would be a little strange at this point.
-I never fed too hard into the "Virgil used to be Paranoia" or "Virgil has another hidden function" thing but lord this wording is weird and one can't help but link it up to his insistence that he hates the word "Paranoia"
-Now if he merely didn't like it then Roman would tease him about it 100% we all know Roman, but its the fact that its such a touchy subject that everyone including Thomas knows not to 'go there'
-This is essentially parallel with a theory about DDs hat in Ed Edd n Eddy, how they saw what was under his hat once and he told them he would never speak to them again if they said one word about it. and Eddy ((who LOVES to put ppl down/make fun of them)) never mentioned it again. there is a level of serious there that is hard to ignore, something that is so real it makes someone go off model.
I know this has been talked about 1000 times over from every angle but I STILL maintain this was too WEIRD WORDING for nothing to be there.
What if there is no knight, and it's just a rumor that was created and grew, and all the parts of the secret bosses will create the knight and make them real?
Kind of like Paranoia Agent, when little slugger becoming more real as the rumor grows, as he reaches into the real world.
Plus the whole imagination, dreams and reality theme going on in both DR and PA.
You’ve got to be very careful with doing a deliberate misinformation on your fantasy lore bc it’s easy to just end up confusing your readers — give people too many layers of lies or wrong information to peel back and they’ll simply stop keeping track, whether because they got lost or because any revelations were so often later refuted that they stopped caring — however if you do have the skill to strike that balance it’s both enriching and very funny to have guys in your world who are Just Wrong about how stuff works.
I think a lot about how badly the "I lied on my CV" scene would go with Archivist Sasha. A LOT. Now this is based on some things:
a) The paranoia
• A lot of Archivist Sasha AUs act as if she would be imune to the paranoia arc and here is why I disagree:
1. By being the Archivist and feeding the eye you are automatically dealing with an extended feeling of being watched all the time. Not to mention the Eye is literally a paranoia entity (between it's other areas).
2. While Sasha doesn't appear to have Jon's trust issues she has a need to know at least equal to him and a tendency of theorizing. She was of course right when assuming Gertrude kept the archieves messy on purpose but that also shows that between being very smart she is very doubtifull of any behavior outside the person's normal.
3. In that same conversation ahe mentions how everyone has a mask and says to Tim, likely her best friend, that he is as honest to her as he is to Jon it is just different masks. She is fine with this. She is okay with the masks. But that is before things go wrong.
4. She KNEW Gertrude. That means solving her murder is more personal.
b) Sasha knows her shit way to well
• This one is the real fascinsting thing: Sasha is a master in figuring out people's secrets and keeping them for herself. She knew from the start Jon lied about his age and that Martin lied on his CV. To the point that for her this knowledge about Martin is a fun fact and irrelevant, a thing she keeps from because she knows he would be anxious if he knew she knows. The thing is that translating to the "I lied in my CV confession" we have:
• Paranoid Sasha found Martin's letter to his mother (likely writen as a diary with no intencion to actually send it) and thinks that Martin lied about Trevor being dead.
• She knows Martin lied on his CV and it's meaningless to her to the point she might suspect he knows she knows.
• She knows Martin has a complicated relationship with his mother and that means she would assume it to be very unlikely he would ever write this personal of a letter to her.
Conclusion:
Sasha would probably think Martin is using the fsct he lied on his CV as a diversion and truly has an awfull secret. She would also likely tell to his face she knows it isn't it because Martin's mum would never read or care about his feelings or letters and Martin should know this enough to not even bother to write "so this is likely a codename".
Since I very sincerely doubt Uther managed to kill ALL the Dragonlords (they're knights, not the KGB, and it was a lot easier to disappear back then) imagine them returning to Albion from Rome or whatever to find Cousin Balinor's only son is ruling Camelot and the Druids, is best friends with an immortal knight and one dude that's been raised from the fucking dead, is bonded to THEE oldest dragon they've ever heard of (and who is also nuttier than squirrel stew) and a semi-feral hatchling that barely listens to four (4) people max and hisses/bites/claws at the rest, and oh yeah, is married to a fucking Pendragon.
Family dinners must be a hoot and a half.
oh to be a fly on the wall when they finally make an audience in Camelot. oh to see Merlin's face morph from apprehension to wonder to exhaustion to horror because they're telling Arthur everything they know.
mentally healthy people who talk about the matrix theory like it's real around paranoid people & psychotic people are going to hell no matter what <3 sincerely, 1 paranoid bastard
