- ponyboy owes johnny 150$ from poker while they were in the church
- just a HILARIOUS quote “sent from heaven? had he gotten a good look at dallas?” ponyboy micheal curtis is hilarious and i don’t wanna hear anything else
- ponyboy isn’t like his parents, but his brothers are
- the curtis and shepard gang have a weird whistle that means “who’s there?” and people don’t talk about it enough
- dally called ponyboy “sleeping beauty.”
- soda’s letter to ponyboy had so many spelling and grammatical mistakes.
- dally had stubble when he went to get ponyboy and johnny “a stubble of colorless beard.”
- johnny’s crazy about drag races.
- dally thinks everything was cherry’s fault.
- dally has a cousin that lives in the area of the church, and told him it’d make a good hiding spot.
- johnny has a “deathly fear of cops.”
- jerry was too fat to climb through the church’s window.
- johnny was having fun in the church.
- soda wouldn’t quit messing with the reporters, he stole their hats and cameras, and even grabbed a cops gun.
- if johnny survived, he would’ve been crippled.
- two-bit’s mom said they should lock the door because of burglars, but darry just flexed his arms in response.
- two-bit was cleaning eggs off the floor after he knocked them off ponyboy’s pan.
- johnny would’ve been charged with manslaughter.
- soda went into darry’s closet to grab his jeans, and steve followed him in. apparently, “in a second, there was the general racket of a pillow fight.”
- two-bit’s mom is just like two-bit, except she isn’t lazy.
- randy’s thinking of leaving town.
- johnny and his mom look exactly the same, with black hair and big black eyes.
- the only difference is johnny has “fearful and sensitive” eyes, while her’s are “cheap and hard.”
- dallas looked out the window instead of at two-bit and ponyboy when he asked about johnny
- cherry had her hair up and she was wearing a ski jacket when she went to go meet the greasers.
- tim shepard has curly black hair and “smoldering” dark-blue eyes. he also has a scar from temple to chin because a “tramp” hit him with a broken soda bottle.
- tim accidentally stepped on ponyboy during the rumble.
- all johnny had ever wanted was for dallas to be proud of him.
- bob had the same smile as soda.
- greasers don’t eat in the school cafeteria.
- curly fell off from a telephone poll and he broke his arm. the face curly made was the same as sodapop’s when darry and ponyboy were fighting.
- when ponyboy wrote his theme, it didn’t hurt to think about johnny and dally.

You and Dallas were having another fight.
You couldn’t even remember what started it.
“How many times do I have to tell you y/n?! I didn’t do it!” Dallas said to you.
Ah yes. Now you remember. A few girls from school started this rumor that dal was cheating on you.
“I know..I just-“
“You just what? You thought I would actually cheat on you?!!!!” His voice boomed around the the house.
You started to relax the muscles in your face, crying with no emotion. Your feet were glued to the floor. You couldn’t even bat an eyelash. Dallas had never yelled at you like that.
“..baby? Are you okay?” Dallas moved closer to you, grabbing your hands, caressing your knuckles with a worried face.
“….I’m sorry for accusing you. It was my fault. I should have known better than to believe those socs.” Your eyes glanced at the floor, avoiding his gaze.
“It’s alright, doll..you didn’t know.” He said with a small smile.
“Are you leaving me now?” Your lip quivered at the thought of losing Dallas. Especially over something so stupid.
His smile fell, turning into a frown.
“Of course not, baby..” he held you close to him, as if that if he let go, you would disappear forever. He couldn’t have that.
“I’m so sorry, dal” you said as more tears came rolling down.
“Hey, man. None of that. Come on babe..your too precious to cry..” He said, wiping away your tears gently.
He pressed a small kiss to your lips.
“…I love you, doll.” he said holding you closer to him.
He didn’t say it I’m a normal way. He said it in the most sincere way he could.
You smiled. “I love you too dal.”
You hugged each other all night, cuddling with your boyfriend.

The Outsiders as Animals
wanted to draw Johnny and Dally but I can't draw people to save my life + i love using animals to represent characterizations of people = i came up with the animal equivalents of the gang
also im an animal nerd so i gotta use my knowledge somehow
This is gonna be long because of all the pictures, sorry
Johnny Cade - alley cat
A skinny alley cat of no specific breed, just your basic domestic feline. Likely with black, tuxedo or black smoke fur. He lives almost exclusively outside and is often the target of abuse and bullying, resulting in malnourishment and less-than-ideal hygiene. But, if you feed him and give him a warm place to sleep at night, he might just be your friend. He didn't choose this kind of life, and really he deserves much better.
Dallas Winston - hound
A tall, lanky mutt, with a barrel chest and sharp, pointed features. He's not a specific breed, and definitely not a purebred, but similar to an Ibizan hound. He likes to go fast and enjoys racing, but he also enjoys going out and hunting for some action. His stature might be intimidating, and his teeth sure are big, but he's not so bad once you get to know him... if he let's you, that is.
Two-Bit Mathews - possum
Just your average wild possum, with a goblinoid personality and little grabby hands. He'll show off his teeth any chance he gets, but it's anyone's guess if he'll ever use them. Also, he's surprisingly clean given his lifestyle. (And it's absolutely shocking that he doesn't carry rabies.)
Steve Randle - mountain lion
Lean and muscular, can jump wide gaps and is surprisingly dexterous, and sure he looks innocent enough on the surface (if you didn't know any better) but he would love to beat you up and absolutely will if you give him ANY reason to. You may not be afraid of him, but you should be.
Darrel Curtis - Kodiak or grizzly bear
Big, strong and sturdy. He looks scary, and sounds scary, and yes you should probably be scared, but he'll leave you alone if you mind your own business. Alongside that, he's mostly a loner, definitely wishes he didn't have 2 cubs to look after, but he will provide for them and protect them until his dying breath.
Sodapop Curtis - black bear
A handsome guy, with sleek fur and a kind face. He looks so sweet, and boy is he a charmer, but in reality he is a menace to society (and it's easy to forget that). He will mess with you, and he enjoys being a nuisance, but if you tell him to knock it off he'll probably stop... probably.
Ponyboy Curtis - Gobi bear
Small and dog-like, but still a bear! His kind is endangered and there aren't many like him. He lives in a place that you might not expect, but he's happiest there. He's not much of a hunter, definitely more of a gatherer. He'll defend himself if he has to, especially if he has some backup, but really he doesn't want to hurt anyone.

warnings: mentions of really bad food combination, throwing up, insects, scratching & picking at skin, loud chewing, fears, please lmk if I forgot something!!

To begin with we have food headcanons:
They all have a certain tastes in pizza!!
Johnny really likes olives on his pizza, like he just loves it.
Darry is a chicken bacon ranch pizza guy. it's his favorite pizza.
Dally really likes supreme pizzas but he can't stand pineapple on pizza. other than that he doesn't care.
Two bit LOVES pineapple on pizza, it's one of his favorites. (he argues w/ dally about it constantly). Him and Steve have no pickiness when it comes to pizza or food in general .
Ponyboy on the other hand is a VERY picky eater (me too man me too).
like he can't stand spicy foods, won't touch olives within an inch of his his life, has to have the edges of his sandwhiches cut off, won't eat pizza crust unless it's stuffed crust, hates cooked vegetables, the list goes on.
Ponyboy loves breadsticks!! it's one of the few foods he genuinely really loves. Same with pickles.
Steve is 100% the kid who you could pay to eat the gross food combinations that people came up with during lunch. yk, like the beans in milk? he would eat that. no hesitation.
Sodapop doesn't like soda because of the carbonation. (again that's me too I don't like drinking soda bc the fizz hurts my mouth).
Darry and Two bit are both lactose intolerant, Darry's just isn't as bad as Two's. Two bit does NOT care though because he loves eating lactose.
Also he loves BBQ sauce, Soda likes ketchup, and Pony loves ranch. like he LOVES it. he was the kid to eat it straight up.
Dallas hates sour foods, he can not stand pickles. He also hates fish, like he doesn't like sea food at all.
Dally also doesn't like mint, his favorite type of gum is watermelon.
He also is the type of person to chew with his mouth open. Like he didn't even realize he was doing it at first until people pointed it out. Then he did it to annoy them, especially Pony.
Ponyboy will get irritated and tell him to chew with his mouth shut and Dally would move his head so he was chewing directly into Pony's ear.
Johnny has random food cravings. like peanut butter on pickles, mustard on ice cream, etc. Pony has to hold back the urge to throw up.
Steve put sugar on his popcorn. he was also the type of person to have popcorn with his ice cream and m&ms and torn up pieces of candy bars & chocolate syrup, and probably maple syrup. he would throw any kind of sweet know to man into a bowl of ice cream and eat it.
Two bit really likes seafood. like he loves fish sticks.
Johnny was allergic to eggs and peaches as a kid. He isn't as much now, but he can't eat peaches anyway because he doesn't like the way they taste.
Headcanons w/ them and certain animals (dogs, cats, insects, etc.):
Darry loves dogs. He loves them and he really doesn't like cats because he thinks they're more of a hassle to take care of. Ponyboy loves cats and would rather have one than a dog. Sodapop loves both.
I saw someone else say Dally is scared of dogs and I just couldn't agree more. He really doesn't like them, and he isn't much of a cat person. He loves snakes though, like if he had the chance to have a pet snake he would 100% have one.
Ponyboy is terrified of any/all insects & bugs, including butterfly. He's allergic to bees as well.
He screams bloody murder if he sees a spider in the house and he HAS to be in a different room if there is one.
Johnny on the other hand isn't scared of them at all. He was the kid who would cry if someone squished a spider, so whenever Ponyboy is freaking out over one he will either a.) calmly pick it up and move it out of the house. or b.) be trying to capture it and tell ponyboy that it keeps moving so its hard to catch.
Then Darry would come in with a cup and paper and call them sissies.
Dally tormented Pony because of his fear of bugs. He would actually chase Pony around with a bug for his own enjoyment.
Miscellany headcanons:
Dallas finds horror movies hilarious. Like he isn't scared of them one bit and is completely unbothered. Johnny and Pony will be clinging to eachother during one and Dally is all like, "Cmon man, it's not even that scary!"
Johnny is afraid of thunderstorms and the dark. Like genuinely he is actually so scared of them.
Both Dally and Johnny bounce their legs when they're sitting, especially if they're nervous about something.
Ponyboy picks at the skin around his nails and Johnny scratches his hands a lot when he's nervous, neither of them really realize they're doing it.
Pony can't stand sherpa. like if the last remaining blanket was sherpa, he would rather sleep without a blanket.
Pony isn't the biggest fan of heights or rollercoasters and Soda doesn't like carnival rides that spin because they make him nauseous.
Dallas would rather die than use sunscreen, he absolutely hates it. Ponyboy loves sunscreen.
Two bit burns really easily. like he'll be outside for 30 minutes and he's already getting sunburnt.
Johnny doesn't go anywhere without his Jean jacket, it's his comfort item.
Steve was the kid to chew on his hoodie strings and his pencils. He couldn't have a wooden pencil without it having so many bite marks in it.
Darry cracks like every single one of his bones and it is so LOUD. He'll twist so he can stretch his back and it'll sound like if firecrackers and rice crispies had a baby.

hello I need your top 3 greasers hcs for a friend
1. marcia gave two-bit her actual phone number and she waited up all night for three days for him to call (he never did)
2. mr. curtis would pull little pranks on his sons, so after his death darry continued the tradition. sometimes soda and pony would slip up and call darry "dad" during these pranks because, glowing in the moment, he looked identical to their father (the glow never stayed long, lasting probably 30 seconds if you ask ponyboy)
3. steve and soda were once alone at the stables and mickey mouse bucked steve a million feet into the air and he landed on his nose. it was the first of many times that steve broke his nose 🤥
3.5. a lil sneak hehe but soda and steve came up with some excuse for the broken nose because they didn't want to get mickey mouse into trouble! so if pony knew the real reason he would've clowned on steve like crazy

I got an ask for Dally & Two-bit friendship hc's but it got lost/tumblr kidnapped it away from me 💔😞 so I hope whoever asked this see's this 🙏
These two are actually so funny together and everyone just forgets that
With Dally's sarcasm and unhingeness(??) And Two-bit's humor and one off comments, I fear they may be the funniest duo in Tulsa 😞
Two-bit will comment on something or make fun of someone and then Dally comes in and just adds onto it, so now they're just going back and forth, feeding off of each other
They're even worse when they're talking about a soc 😭 they are RUTHLESS with their insults, they'll find things that someone didn't even know they could be insecure about
Truly they're an unstoppable duo cuz when they steal they almost always get away with it
Two-bit is known for stealing but Dally is also pretty good at it too
When they're working together to steal they could literally just take ANYTHING
If they really wanted they could probably steal a TV and get away with it 😭
Dally always says be sneaky but Two-bit always says "just act like you're supposed to have it and they won't take it from you"
They'll use each other as distractions too if they really need too
They somehow became the designated babysitters (aka make sure Pony doesn't get in big trouble or Darry will kill them and make sure Johnny doesn't get jumped again)
Since Dally always hangs out with Pony and Johnny (Mostly Johnny) and Two-bit always hangs out with them (Mostly Pony) they end up just grouping together
Sometimes all 4 of them hanging out turns into "let's watch Dallas do something illegal and see if he can get away with it" or "let's watch Two-bit do something incredibly stupid and dangerous and see if he lives"
As you can imagine Two and Dally are great entertainers
Whenever all 4 of them are together the most common phrase said is "Don't tell Darry"/"don't tell Darry that I let you do that" cuz let's be honest if Pony OR Johnny got into some serious trouble or hurt Darry would be enraged
These two are an unstoppable duo when it comes to fighting
In rumbles these two on their own or working together during a rumble are CRAZY, everyone better WATCH OUT 😭
These two become UNHINGED during a fight, especially when they're feeding off of each other's energy lol
These two also can plan pretty well, they'll discuss who is gonna stay by Pony and Johnny (if they go) and who's gonna be in the middle of the rumble
They prefer it when they both get to be in the middle of all the chaos lol
Two-bit talks while Dally listens
Two could talk for hours about literally everything and nothing and Dally will just sit there and listen
Once in awhile Dally will comment on something or answer a question if Two-bit asks him something but usually Two-bit is the one talking
One might think that Dally isn't listening or comprehending anything Two says but he is AND ITS NOT CUZ HE'S NICE (he is,, we've discussed this 😭😭)
Dally will remember things Two-bit might have said a week ago and Two-bit is genuinely surprised everytime, not because no one remembers things he says but because he knows he talks SO MUCH 😭
Two made Dally into a secret mickey mouse fan
If Two is at the Curtis's house and he's watching mickey mouse then Dally will just sit and watch with him
He's sat through so many animated shorts that he's actually a little excited when he walks in and Two already has it on
Two-bit knows Dally likes watching the cartoons too but he'll never say anything about it because he knows Dally will get embarrassed lol
Sometimes tho after they turn off the TV Dally will comment on it (Dal: I didn't like that episode. Two: ya didn't? Dal: No, I wasn't really watchin it but I didn't like the bits I saw.) (His ass is LYING he WAS watching it 😭😭😭)
No one really thought they were close so it comes as a suprise
I like to think they're pretty close with each other and try to hang out time to time
The rest of the gang didn't really expect them to be friends, since they're both pretty different
Dally has the broody loner front that he puts up while Two-bit is loud and almost EVERYONES friend
Two has definitely brought Dally's friendly side out more tho (only with the gang tho 😭)

You sighed as you put your head on your desk. You had been studying for your finals , you needed to pass your finals, especially your math test one since you had always struggled with it. You were exhausted from all the work and studying that you were doing and you couldn't wait for all of it to be over.
You were so tired that you didn't even hear your boyfriend, dally winston, sneaking into your room through your window. He walked over to you gently putting his hand on your back as you jumped a little looking up at him “ hell doll, you doin alright?” he asked, looking down at you.
“Yea” you said sitting up in your chair and stretching a little as then dally picked you up from your chair with you gently clinging to him as he carried you to your bed sitting on the edge holding you.
He looked at your for a small second as he began to kiss you softly. Time had passed and it had been about 15 minutes of soft kisses as you slowly pulled away from him “ dally I need to get back to studying “ you say as he shakes his head no “ five more minutes doll” he said kissing you again.
You kissed his back softly as you pulled away again “Dally no, I need to pass” you said giving him a look “ your gonna do fine doll” he said as he kissed you again
You sighed softly and gave up with a small smile kissing him as he held you cause both of you knew that everything in that moment was perfect <3

ponyboy is gifted a polariod camera at some point and is all over that shit, he has marked and dated pictures of the gang hung up on his wall at college
johnny doesn't really think the beatles are all that bad, but he keeps it to himself lest the boys make fun of him for it
steve was really close with his mom, and part of the reason he and his dad don't get along is because she was what tied them together as a family, and with her gone the two feel more like strangers than father and son
dallas never had a thing for redheads until he met cherry, afterwards that's all he goes after

The radio was playing an Elvis song, because of course it was. The slow opening chords of "Love Me" danced with the sounds of the night - the crickets chirping to each other, the buzzing of late summer cicadas - and the soft rumble of the T-bird's engine. As soon as Dallas put it in park he turned to look at Johnny, who was sitting in the passenger's seat and chewing his nails as he stared out into the dark.
Dally had been glad when Ponyboy said he had homework to do that night. He didn't have a problem with the kid, but Dal and Johnny hadn't had much time alone as of late and he was itching for any kind of physical contact between the two of them.
With one hand still on the steering wheel, he reached over to grab Johnny's thigh, squeezing it gently. When those dark eyes finally turned to look at him he couldn't help but smirk. No matter how many times they touched, Johnny always reacted like it was the first. His eyes were wide and almost fearful, but Dallas knew better; that was how Johnny usually looked. He tugged at Johnny's leg, urging him to turn a bit more towards him before leaning over the center console to kiss him.
He could feel Johnny's body tense when their lips made contact, then slowly easing into it and relaxing as Dallas pushed closer, pulling at the smaller boy's bottom lip and sucking on it gently. One of Johnny's hands found its way up to Dally's shoulder, curling around the collar of his jacket, while the other lightly touched at the hand that had slid between Johnny's thighs to grope at his crotch. When Dallas's tongue forced its way between his lips and licked at the roof of his mouth, Johnny gasped, then whined as the hand between his legs squeezed him carefully. Dally huffed a quiet laugh before releasing his grip and leaning back into his seat, licking his lips.
"C'mere."
Johnny didn't need to be convinced. He pulled himself over the center console, carefully settling in Dallas's lap with a leg on either side of the older boy's hips and his hands coming to rest on Dallas's chest. Dally snaked a hand under the seam of Johnny's tee shirt to grasp his hip, his pinkie finger slipping under the band of his jeans - just barely venturing into restricted territory. His other hand reached up to grasp the smaller boy's chin, delicately pulling him closer and reconnecting their mouths. Johnny moaned into it, humming at the warmth and the way Dally's tongue toyed with his. The curl of Dal's grin was obvious for Johnny to feel, and he couldn't help the way it made him smile too.
Dallas's thumb kneaded at the flesh on the inside of Johnny's hip before dipping further down, trying to burrow beneath the waistband of his jeans. Johnny leaned into the touch, moving to wrap his arms behind Dally's neck and letting his full weight press against him. The pressure under Dal's fingers grew as he worked to hold him there, perched perfectly on his lap, his thumb now digging into the muscle of Johnny's hip.
Dallas hummed, pulling away to nip at Johnny's jawline and trail gentle kisses down his throat. He watched as the younger boy's Adam's apple bobbed in time with panting breaths, and he laughed, resting his forehead on Johnny's shoulder.
"Christ, you're so… you drive me crazy, you know that?"
