OTP
(Pavitr Prabhakar x You)
Tumblr media
Synopsis: You like Mumbattan more than New York, so you chill there often. And sometimes help your best friend out as Spider-Woman. But the people of Mumbattan think there's something more to the relationship of the two heroes.
"What does OTP mean?" Pavitr breaks the comfortable silence that had set in as we sat atop the tallest building in Mumbattan, staring down at the -very- busy streets below.
"Uhm..Only Thing Purple?" I guess, scooting over as Pav moves to sit next to me. "No, it means 'One True Pairing', actually." He states, showing me his phone screen and scrolling on Tik Tok.
The video consisted of a fight Pav and I had the other day with an anomaly. Specifically the part where I not so heroically got electrocuted because I stepped in water.
The music filled as Pav landed beside me, reaching out and putting a hand on shoulder. "You oka-" He got cut off as he was shocked as well.
"Okay why would someone edit that?" I ask as I read the caption.
Two dumbasses...literally made for eachother!!
"I know right? I can still feel the lightning in my veins." Pav shivers, pulling his phone away from me. "And there are tons of edits of us saying we're OTP." He concludes.
A second passes in awkward, notedly not comfortable, silence before a loud explosion came from the streets below.
Ah, back to work.
"And Look at That! Our very own heroes have swung by for a quick hello!" The reporter woman smiled at us as I wiped the dirt off my clothed leg.
I smiled back, instantly stopping once I realized she can't see through my mask. "Are you- oh wow, is this live?" Pav asks, waving at the camera.
"Stop you're so embarrassing." I judged his shoulder, to which he threw an arm over my neck and ruffled my hair. "You know you love me." He laughs.
"Oh, wow! That brings me to my only question...the public wanna know! Are you two an item?"
Not this again.
Before I can open my mouth to deny, Pav laughs.
"No, but...might as well do this now. Y- I mean, Spider-Woman. I love everything about you. The way you part your hair, the way you laugh, all the way to your face when you eat really tasty food. And as the months have passed, I realized that I love you. So, will you go out with me?"
I looked between him and the camera, then back at him.
"Nah, I'll pass." I say simply. The lenses on his mask widen.
"I'm kidding! I'm joking! Yes, I'll go out with you Paaaaa...l. Pal." I caught myself. "Oh, my god. Yes!" He tackles me into a hug.
"This is great and all...but can one of you swing this girl to the hospital? The ambulance is backed up..." A paramedic taps me on the shoulder.
I immediately throw myself off Pav. "Yes- of course I'm so sorry come on let's go girl." I grab the citizen, being careful not to touch her...ouch, really nasty arm and swing away.
It takes a lot of focus to swing through Mumbattan with a passenger, but I've done it a billion times. However, it's a little more difficult this time.
Since my heart won't stop beating so fast.
I sat in a chair next to one of the crash victim's hospital bed. The teenage boy hadn't woken up yet, and as much as I'd like to be with Pav right now, my duty as Spider-Woman is to make sure people are safe- even if they're not from my universe.
The boy suddenly stirred in his bed, which caused me to put down my phone. "Hey, you're awake. You got into a car crash. How are you feeling?" I ask the boy, who's hospital bracelet says Aarush. Cute name.
"Ugh...like shit. Who are you?" Oh damn I forgot I took my costume off. "Uh...my names Carly, I'm a med student. It's a whole program- don't even worry about it." I shake my head with a laugh.
"Oh, okay. Hey, look it's Spider-Man." He looks at the TV which had been playing the news. I looked up just in time to catch Pav(Spider-Man) catch my hand with a web after I fell off the bridge trying to keep a car up.
I should probably work out more.
I watch with a warm face as the entire scene from earlier plays out again, Pav wrapping me in a hug and me swinging away with a girl in my arms.
"Damn, Spider-Man and Spider-Woman are totally OTP."

can I get 25 and 30 for Ashler 👉👈
25. (a lil sappy, but..) What do they like about each other?
ty likes being able to rely on ashlyn. he's lived most of his life carrying the burden of responsibility for his entire family, so i think he takes great comfort in having ashlyn by his side. though it would take him a while to realize this, cause he's just so used to being in charge that having someone else take the position of leader was something he had to get acclimated to, but once he does, it's when he realizes how nice it is to have ashlyn around.
ashlyn would appreciate ty's sense of duty and loyalty. actually, one of the things that i find so interesting about their dynamic is how they're slowly learning to actually see and understand each other. their walls are slowly lowering the more they spend time together, and little by little, ashlyn is able to see past her initial judgment of ty's character until she sees who he is at his core: someone who is willing to put everything on the line to protect those he cares about, even going as far as to relinquish his usual position of leader and follow her command.
so the whole scene when ashlyn apologizes to tyler after his fall? gut-wrenching. i loved how he was so quick to brush her apology off and then call her something as absurd as 'carrot-top' just to elevate her guilt alsfkhaflal they mean so much to me frfr!!
30. Pet names? Yes or no?
tyler calls ashlyn carrot-top, along with other iterations of her hair color (and possibly her height just to piss her off lmao)
ashlyn probably isn't too big on pet names, but she'd definitely use whatever insult she can think of to call him if he pissed her off

Okay, I am gonna ask on the Beifong sisters. Suyin und Lin!
Oooh, the Beifong sisters! I would totally watch a spin-off with nothing but Beifong drama. That's how much I love this family, warts and all precisely because in their imperfections they're so fascinating. @mikaharuka also wanted to know about them so let's begin with the elder, dutiful sister, the one and only Chief Lin "that lady is my hero" Beifong and I'll get to Su in a separate post.
Tumblr media
1. sexuality headcanon
Besides being a workaholic and married to her job, I believe Lin is queer (undefined but definitely not straight) and demiromantic.
2: otp
OTP for Lin? Lin/happiness. Although I enjoy Kyalin, I don’t really have a strong OTP for her but I want her to live her best life with whoever she chooses. I’ve seen her shipped with a lot of characters and it’s funny how she’s been paired with both of Tenzin’s siblings. One ship I admit I find intriguing is one that I stumbled upon through a fanart and it’s Lin/Iroh II and honestly, I can see it work. Yeah, she’s older than him but it’s about the same age difference as the canonical Tenzin/Pema. Besides. Lin is hot and she definitely doesn’t move or look like a woman in her fifties so age ain’t nothing but a number here. I can get behind cougar Lin 😉
3: brotp
Mako. Although she still has a good relationship with her old flame Tenzin, I believe Mako is the closest to a BROTP for her. I’ve seen Lin romantically paired with Mako but personally, I prefer the “momboss and detectiveson” dynamic for them. They just understand each other well since they’re both the oldest children and they had to carry the burden of responsibility early in their lives.  I also like to think that she could be a great mentor and friend to Kuvira and I love the idea of the two of them sharing drinks while spilling the beans about Suyin.
4: notp
Although I like the enemies to friends to lovers dynamic, I don’t see her with Tarrloq.
5: first headcanon that pops into my head
The reason Lin and Tenzin spent a lot of time together growing up is Aang, since he was for all intents and purposes, Lin and Su’s main father figure. Like Tenzin once noted, “my father and Lin got along famously.” After training with Tenzin, he would take some time to practice earthbending with the Beifong girls and Lin admitted that Aang made learning more fun that her mom. It took her a long time to recover from Aang’s demise so part of her initial skepticism toward Korra is the fact that it reminded her that Aang was gone and this chaotic energetic girl was his successor.
6. favorite line from this character
This gem 🤣
Tumblr media
7: one way in which I relate to this character
I can relate to her in the way she shows how she cares through actions and not words.
8: thing that gives me second hand embarrassment about this character
She definitely needs to improve the recruitment standards for the RCPD because the detective pair from Book 2 were painfully mediocre at best and it hurts to see them associated with her.
9: cinnamon roll or problematic fave?
She’s a grumpy, gruff cinnamon roll.

the otp dissertation
this essay is a copy of a free-response question i submitted to some youtuber's genshin shipping survey, and is itself edited from discord dms sent to a girl i met via genshin, who asked what the appeal of xiaoven was.
-
personally, i like to use xiaoven to explore the tensions btwn duty n freedom, as well as how one's culture shapes one's character, and especially within genshin, how that interacts with the home culture of the element of a character's vision.
like for example, with liyue, their nation's ideal is technically "contracts", that's more a symbol of fairness and equal treatment, though i tend to interpret it as mostly fairness. being based very heavily upon chinese culture, there's also a very huge emphasis on duty towards one's community and caring for it; xiao definitely exemplifies these kinds of cultural traits in how devoted he is to his own duty, wherein he slays demons at the cost of his own well-being. geo is also a very grounded element, and he was raised in that kind of very grounded, down-to-earth culture. however, his vision, a representation of his greatest desire, is that of anemo, of freedom, and while xiao is a very duteous character, his vision betrays his true desires.
venti is obviously the anemo archon, the purest form of that ideal of freedom; venti also saved xiao's life in dihua marsh by playing his flute for xiao when he was dying due to the burdens of his karmic debts. that was like, a whole thing.
while at first, it might also seem that venti doesn't get anything out of the relationship aside from, like, a cute boyfriend, that's not actually the case if one explores venti's character a bit more deeply. venti is a character who hides a lot of sadness in him, as well as loneliness and fear of people leaving. as an archon, he's obviously immortal, but he also cares greatly about human beings and is, to our knowledge, the closest to them in general.
but being immortal means he outlives them by a lot, and so he can't get close to them bc he's obviously got A Lot of Feelings, and we Know that he grieves a lot for his friends bc he's still affected deeply by the loss of his other human friends in history, like the nameless bard, whose form he still takes, as well as vannessa, one of the characters in the genshin manga.
and so venti has a lot of abandonment issues, and yet he can't really bring himself to ask anyone to stay with him bc he is the god of freedom, and "what is freedom when demanded of you by a god?" he refuses to ask anything of anyone as a god, which is why he runs around pretending to be a mortal bard.
but xiao knows venti is a god, and the way xiao behaves around gods is like, the opposite of how venti would wanna be treated-- y'know, like, very devoted to the point where he'd die over it sort of thing. n so venti can't ask him to stay or anything, even if he'd like that.
ANYWAY, so, like, assuming character development happens n stuff as xiao learns to let go of his duty n stuff, i think that xiao's stability would be really good for venti, as like, something steady he could return to time and time again after his adventures, since xiao obviously can't die from old age like most mortals, and venti can also help keep him alive in general.
and like, venti's also had to have done some questionable things in the past. like he was one of the major players in the archon war, he has to have some war crimes, and he carries a heavy burden of guilt over a lot of things that have happened to mondstadt in the past, so another aspect of it is the fact that these are two deeply guilty characters who would probably see the other as a better person than themselves.
like it's pretty obvious from xiao's perspective, but in terms of venti → xiao, it might not be so clear. however, underneath xiao's "don't touch me i'm an evil tainted monster" thing, xiao is actually a very gentle character who wants so badly to be good, yet thinks he is incapable of such things bc past trauma n stuff, and i think a character like venti, who is very good at reading people, would be able to see that, and how despite his past, xiao still tries to be good.
at the end of the day, their dynamic just compels me, and tbh i actually don't really care all that much whether it's portrayed as romantic or platonic so long as they find meaning and importance in their relationship to each other. the way xiao's vision literally betrays his heart's desire and the way venti represents the purest, most ideal form of that desire makes me froth at the mouth. it's two deeply lonely, incredibly guilt-ridden people finding solace and stability in one another, who learn to love themselves bc someone else, whom they judge to be a better person than they themselves are, has shown them that it is possible for them to be loved, to be worthy of love.
simply distilled they are two people who think they are in a monster x monsterfucker relationship, and that the other person is the monsterfucker. and i am obsessed with that.

look im not calling atem lives aus fixits because i believe some bullshit like if my otp stays together it will magically Fix The Story, im calling them that because imo atem staying is fixing the story. i love him with yuugi but i dont care who, if anyone, he gets to date if he stays, its not what this is about. its that his journey makes so much sense if he does.
so much of yugioh is about growth, and as yuugi&co were growing up so was atem. he was never this stagnant ghost, an echoing remnant of the past; he was always a living, changing thing, a teen boy trying to find his place in the world. aside from being inconsistent, it is simply cruel to end the story by saying that his place is to die, that his will means nothing, that the bonds he made with his partner and friends are only as good as memories, something to think back on and dismiss in every other way that matters.
and when i say him staying i also mean him getting to deal with the aftermath. i mean that his half-death and coming back from it is just another coming of age, that comes with growing pains like any other step forward. atem spent such a long time focused on duty, on the things he had to do despite his wishes, so what happens when all that shatters? what happens when, for the first time in his life on that podium, he admits to wanting something, and gets it? where does he go from there? he never thought he would actually get it; he came to egypt with the knowledge that he would move on, duelists pride and all.
so, what does he do? he could go anywhere, no shackles of fate or ancient instructions to keep him on their path; he can be whoever he wants. he gets to become an adult like everyone else. and that is terrifying.

tag game (horizon)
tagged by @artekai 💕🤝💖 thanks, pal!
1. ride or die ship: fashav/kotallo straight to my grave. mythological tragedies, those two, i tell you what.
2. most annoying ship: the boat aloy takes to san francisco. can you imagine, never rowing before in your life and making that trek through choppy currents and storms? insufferable.
3. second favorite ship: aloy/kotallo. the parallels of aloy and kotallo being forced into roles they never wanted, being alone and outcast from their tribes, moving through their grief and rage by learning to trust a new found family? being seen by another for more than their physical prowess but their humanity and creativity? excellent shit.
4. favorite platonic relationship: SYLENS AND BETA AND GAIA. Sylens getting taken down a fucking peg or two by a teenage girl and an infinitely compassionate AI. Beta being able to collaborate with someone (and an AI) who sees well beyond her mistakes and faults. GAIA finding consistent, complex companions who remind her fondly of Lis. Sylens making Beta food and teaching her how to cook. HELP ME.
5. Underrated ship: So many. I really love Aloy/Drakka. The idea of him being such a counter to Aloy’s single-minded focus on saving the world by being an absolute goober. But her seeing that he cares so very deeply about doing the right thing and protecting his people. Alva/Beta is sweet. I dig Erend/Talanah.
6. overrated ship: the odyssey. just kidding, i already made a joke about a boat.
7. one thing i would change in canon: the entire last act? specifically varl’s death, that kotallo doesn’t fly to the grove with aloy, that aloy ends the entire tenakth/regalla conflict via single combat duel, and then fights alone twice more with erik and tilda. RIP all the build up to aloy understanding that she’s not alone and all the people in her life are as competent and complex and have just as much stake in the fate of the world as she does. and beyond that, i deeply regret the way they wrote talanah in hfw. she shoulda had that fourth bunk in the base.
8. something canon did right: don’t get me wrong, i wish fashav hadn’t died at barren light, but i love his back story and everything we find out through his journals. added so much nuance to carja and tenakth cultures and characters in just a handful of paragraphs.
9. a thing i’m proud of creating for the fandom: i’ve been in a perpetual state of burnout for yeeeeeears. this kotallo portrait was the first piece i’ve drawn in ages. i’m also working on a bookbinding project and doing art for Kotallo with amazing folks on Focus on the Heart.
10. a character who is perfect to me: Hekarro. I hope the writers, animators, and actor who made him come to life are very proud of their work.
11. character i relate to most and why: uhhh like every other neurodivergent queer with trauma and parental issues, i gotta go with beta.
12. character(s) i hate most and why: tekkoteh. absolute steaming pile of shit. genuinely every time i think i’ve reached peak hatred for that slime, someone writes a beautiful fic where i find myself despising him more. in my interpretation, there’s no world where he didn’t take advantage of, manipulate, and abuse kotallo after his parents died.
13. something i’ve learned from the fandom: awww this is cheesy, but i learned how to take a chance and post things i make again. most people are so curious and so excited to discuss lore or characters in good faith. oh, recently i did discover i missed MANY post-mission dialogues for side quests on my first few playthroughs.
14. three tags i seek out on ao3: i’m guaranteed to get drawn into anything re: kotallo and fashav’s early marshal days, lis character development, aloy/kotallo hurt/comfort (sue me)
15. a song i associate strongly with my otp/favorite character: i made this playlist based off this fic. it’s basicallg my score for fashav and kotallo falling in love during their marshal duties. instants by skúli sverrisson and anything by hermanos gutiérrez sends me into pondering fashav and kotallo’s lives together.
i’m gonna tag @poulticepurse @fogsblue @rowanisawriter @ayaitch @robo-dino-puppy if y’all wanna do this?

February - Established Long Distance Relationship
Pairing: Brock Reynolds
Warnings: Deployments, Care Packages
Words: 943
Summary: Brock and the team get surprises during mailcall while on deployment in J-Bad.
In a Discord group I belong to, there was a post for a "Year of the OTP" challenge for 2023.
Disclaimer: This is fanfic work; no money is being made from this story. All recognizable characters belong to their respective creative authors, studios or producers.

“Mail call you clowns,” Sonny yells as he joins the guys around the fire pit. He opens the mailbag, “alright, let's see what we have for Bravo Team.” Reaching in, he pulls out a medium size box, “Ray, here’s a little bit of home.” He then tosses it over to him. He reaches in and grabs the next package, “bossman, it looks like the kiddos sent you something too.” On the next grab, he pulls out some letters, “heads up,” he shouts, and when Trent and Metal look at him, he flings the letters to them. They each catch them before they have a chance to hit the floor. He stuffs the last letter into his back pocket as it’s addressed to him. Shaking the bag, he realizes there is one more package inside; when he pulls it out, he grins, “looks like someone is sending Brock and Cerberus some love too.” He then tosses it to the man in question.
There is some friendly teasing as Ray and Jason open the packages from their families. Emma and Mickey had mailed their father a card, chocolates, seeds for his vegetable garden, and baby wipes. Now Naima and the kids had sent Ray some homemade cards, cookies, drawings, candy, and baby wipes.
“So, Broccoli, whatcha get?” Sonny asked.
Causing the other guys to look in Brock's direction as he finishes cutting tape on his box, he chuckles; it’s a heavy-duty heart-shaped Kong toy and a jar of all-natural peanut butter. On the lid is a heart-shaped sticker and the name Cerb. Brock whistles, and Cerberus gets up, stretching lazily while yawning, ambling over to his handler, and sitting by his feet.
Brock takes his knife, spreading a glob of peanut butter on the Kong Toy before handing it to Cerberus, who sniffs it briefly before biting it and retreating to his spot near the fire pit.
Digging back into the package, he pulls out a Ziploc container of homemade chocolate and peanut butter chip cookies, a container of baby wipes, a small container of homemade dog treats, a new hard copy of his favorite book ‘The Martian,’ a homemade DVD and a card in an envelope.
“Who’s sending you all those goodies, Broccoli?” Sonny asked from his seat next to Brock, eyeing the container of cookies.
“Not to mention, who knows your pup so well?” Trent asked, nodding at Cerberus, who was still munching on his toy.
“Spill brother,” Metal’s low, gruff voice causes Brock to jump a little as he comes up, setting a bottle of beer next to his camping chair.
Brock rubs the back of his neck; he smiles at the guys and places the package on the ground leaving the book and card on his lap. He then looks at all of the guys, “Keep your paws off of my cookies, or I’ll sick the hair missile on you. You’ll be his training dummy.”
Opening the card, he can’t help but smile when he reads the contents,
Tumblr media
Cracking the book's cover, he places the card inside, flips the pages, and stops at page 316. Lying between the pages is a 3D ultrasound image. He picks it up, taking in all of the child’s features. Brock is so lost in thought he doesn’t see Trent get up to grab snacks.
“Cute kid, you gonna be an uncle?” Trent asks, seeing the picture.
Brock grins at the man, “Nah, man, I’m gonna be a dad. This is my kid.”
Everything around the fire pit stops; the guys look at him.
“What’d you just say, Broccoli?” Sonny asks his Texas accident even thicker than usual.
Picking up the image and showing it to the group, “I said I’m gonna be a dad.” Noting writing on the back of the image, “make that a girl, dad. This is a picture of my daughter.”
Ray smiles at him, “welcome to the club, brother. There is nothing quite like it.”
Jason nods his head in agreement, unsure of what else to say.
“So, who’s the baby momma Broccoli? Can’t believe you finally managed to get some and didn’t tell us?”
Brock growls at Sonny, “my daughter isn’t the result of some one-night stand. And trust me, man, getting some has never been a problem.”
Sonny holds up his hands in surrender.
“So you’re saying you have a girlfriend?” Clay asks, giving Sonny a reproachful look.
“Not what I said either,” Brock replies with a shoulder shrug.
“Quit being cryptic, dog boy. Tell us what’s going on.” Metal states before taking a swig of his beer.
“My wife is the one who is pregnant. It wasn’t exactly planned, but not unwanted either. We found out the week before the deployment that she’s pregnant.”
Trent tilts his head, “since when are you married?”
“We got married two days after returning from our last deployment to J-Bad. It was just us, the dogs, a JP on a floating dock in False Cape State Park at sunset.”
“So, almost a year and a half?” Trent clarifies.
Brock shrugs, “that sounds about right?”
“Dogs?” Clay questions.
“We couldn’t exactly get married without Cerberus and Artemis. Before you ask, Artemis is a two-year-old sable German shepherd.” Brock replied.
“How long have you guys been together?” Trent asks.
“We met just before I went through BUDs. We’ve been together ever since.” Glancing down at his watch, he does the calculations in his head for the time difference to Va Beach. “This has been fun, ladies, but I’m going to go call my girls.” Grabbing his things, he whistles, and together he and Cerberus head to their hootch to make a video call home.
Tumblr media
Note:
The letter in this story was written in Dutch. I decided since that is the language he gives Cerb commands in, he picked it because he speaks it, and so does his wife. Here is a close approximation of what the letter says. I had a friend of mine do the Dutch translation.
Hey Babe, I’m missing you and our furry kid. The bed is cold without my two heat sources. Here are a few little things for when you get a minute of downtime. Only a few more weeks and this deployment will be over; we can’t wait to have you home. I had a new ultrasound technician at my last appointment, and she accidentally spilled the beans on our March surprise. So if you look at the page corresponding to that date, you will know too. That being said, when you come home, you better have a list of names ready. Love you, Babe

Unmasked Trust. otp: cipher nine (f!oc) x Darth Marr. A/N: hearing impaired cipher nine protag, wlw pairing, transfem Marr, canon divergence.
(was posted on sideblog but this was being edited with recent characters updates.)
Tumblr media
“Do you trust me, Ania?”
Ania was taken aback by the unusual question out of the blue, eying the masked warlord sat on the opposite side from her and set down a cup of decaf aside.
“Of course, I trust you.” Ania told the warlord with a baffled reaction. She tilted her head curiously, wondering what prompted this, “What brought this on?”
The Sith caught her off guard over the topic of trust. They had been married for a couple of months, sharing the same bed for a better night’s sleep and taking turns caring for Naomi. Recently Ania had taken notice of Marr growing restless since the previous night before. Could it have been due to sleeping within their armour made them feel this way out of discomfort.
“I have…reasons,” the warlord spoke with a raspy tone, their visor fixated onto the cipher agent attentively, making sure to sign for her, “I thought it would be the right time for you to learn the person behind this mask.”
Ania doesn’t understand this, albeit worried if she had done something wrong, “But why? Didn’t I not gave you my trust and consent in our marriage?”
Maybe she wished she had opted to sleep on the couch or renovated one of the spare rooms into a personal bedroom when they moved in together.
“Yes, you did. But that was not the reason,” Marr reassured, clearing their throat, “Unveiling myself to you without your trust was the last thing I wanted to provoke you into reliving your traumatic past.”
Provoke my trauma, she wondered puzzledly to herself, until the realisation hit her now she acknowledged that Marr was referring to the first time she saw Jadus' unmasked face, which had completely startled her with their appearance. Afterall, Marr wanted to proceed with caution, and Ania greatly appreciated them for it–it is the littlest thing she liked how Marr looked out for her when they didn’t have to.
Then again, she recalled Marr’s vow to her on their wedding day.
“I understand your reason, but you didn’t need to–"
“I know Ania,” Marr cuts her off, “This is as important to me because you mattered more to me than you think. This is my choice.”
Marr knew it was the right time to unveil themselves. They don’t want to be Darth Marr all the time, especially in the comfort of their home away from the Empire’s duty–they want Ania to see the other side of their persona. Ania, on the other hand, felt her breath hitched upon the way Marr mentioned that she means more to them. Was it because of that moment the two shared when she left Jadus' office at the Sith HQ?
“I respect your decision.” Ania affirmed with a nod initiating that she was ready.
That was all Marr needed to hear. Fingers gripped onto the hood for a moment before letting it slide off from their head, then Marr paused with hesitation questioning whether this was really worth it or not. They wondered if they’re doing it too soon, or unsure how Ania would react towards their identity–that they’re not met with the expectations of the so-called rumour talks?
“Are you ok?” Ania checked on them out of concern.
“It’s…” Marr heaved a sigh, “It’s been a long time since I took my mask off in front of the other,” they explained their hesitation, “I was around your age when I became Darth Marr and never looked back. The last person who saw my face was The Emperor himself.”
Marr subconsciously blocked the memory of the time at the Emperor’s Fortress from their head, but they never forget the moment when one of the Servants placed the mask onto their face, and Tenebrae was watching on with a smile ominously. Being Darth Marr was all they wanted to be–mysterious without the past hanging by a thread.
Until Ania came along in their life. It had brought a vulnerable side to them, but Marr had already made their choice to unmask and gained their spouse’s trust.
“How long has it been?” Ania asked curiously.
“About twenty years.” Marr answered.
Ania understood their hesitation with an acknowledged nod, her father wore a mask specifically for his dyspnea condition, “Take your time.”
“Are you sure?” Marr warned, double checking for signs of uneasiness, “There’s no going back after this…”
“I would not have agreed to this if I wasn’t ready.” Ania reassured with a smile.
There’s something about her smile that made Marr feel their knees go weak from the sight alone. Well, here goes nothing.
Marr lifted their hands up to their head steadying their posture as fingers grasped onto the side of their mask, waiting idly for a brief second to study their spouse’s body language, but Ania was waiting in anticipation and sensed the thrill of excitement from her moods.
Marr breathed a sharp inhale, slowly removing the mask from their face and held it within their hands, gazing their scarlet eyes onto the agent awaiting for her reaction. Ania was stunned to say the least, taken aback and unprepared for the shock reveal.
“You’re…” Ania was speechless. “A zabrak.” Marr said, tossing the mask aside onto the coffee table, "I'm not exactly what everybody making it out to believe I'm human." “Not to mention you’re a woman, aswell.” Ania added.
There was something about their deep, raspy voice that was soothing to her. Marr curled their lips into a smirk, setting the cipher agent off into a flustered state, “Surprised? I don’t blame you. I’m told that you… appreciate the company of other women--specially older ones.”
“I am, actually.” Ania slammered, trying not to get distracted by Marr’s face and covering up her flushed cheeks, she cleared her throat to continue, “You’re not what I expected from the rumours being said about you.”
“What rumours?” Marr indulged with an amused tone, “Listening to rumours when you shouldn’t?”
“So, are you implying the rumours about a Grand Moff who saw your distinguished face, disappeared and committed suicide was a lie?” Ania questioned.
Marr snorted by this.
“Admittedly, that rumour was a cover up story to throw anyone off their guard.” Marr explained while they leaned back into the chair with one leg up over the knee, ruffling their dishevelled hair, “It’s the only way I can protect my own identity without the rest of the Sith Lords looking to pry into my life when I was on the Dark Council.”
“Oh. I suppose that makes sense.”
“Plus, I just let them run their own wild fantasies and theories about me.” Marr added, “Something to get them off my back.”
“You must’ve had some really bizarre ones.”
“Only if it keeps them entertained and it worked.”
Ania couldn’t resist staring at the warlord to study the details to memorise for later. Jet black short hair with horns, red skin tone, black inked facial tattoo and scarlet eyes. She faintly noticed the scar across their face–she was curious about how they got it but wanted to save the question for another day.
Marr caught her staring, “What?”
“Has anyone told you how attractive looking you are?” Ania, without thinking, replied with a question… rather bluntly. She wasn’t sure whether to feel mortified or not.
The warlord chuckled. Ania felt her heart flutter rapidly after hearing them laugh… for the first time.
“That’s not the first I’ve been told.”–Marr smirked, deciding to tease the cipher agent–”Do you find me attractive, Ania? I might know what your preferred type of an ideal woman that you appreciate.”
Ania couldn’t tell if Marr was teasing her or throwing subtle hints. Maybe she shouldn’t be thinking of Marr like this… She picked up her cup of decaf before it started to get cold and took a sip, looking elsewhere avoiding Marr’s gaze.
“It was an innocent question.”

Obviously for Codywan: 6 and its cousin 17 🥹
These ones were more challenging than the last ones but still a lot of fun to think about
(Link to the OTP Relationship Asks)
6. When did they realize they loved each other?
I wish I was familiar enough with all the arcs in Clone Wars to be exact but here is my best answer.
I will say Cody needed much longer to figure it out but I think he would’ve first opened up to the possibility of something deeper when he got his scar. This is obviously a complete headcanon, but I believe Obi Wan would’ve checked up on him to make sure he was okay after he received medical attention. I don’t believe there’s a canon explanation for his scar (maybe there’s something in Legends) but it had to be early in the war. Head wounds bleed a lot and Cody’s scar is pretty big, meaning something really bad would’ve had to happen. It really throws Obi Wan off, way more than he expects it to. When he saw the injury, even though he could still feel Cody in the force, he thought he was close to death because there was so much blood. Since he doesn’t have much time for friends who aren’t Jedi (and the ones he has he barely gets to see), Cody represents something very unique and important in his life because he speaks to him nearly every day. He goes to see Cody and they have a genuine, off-duty conversation and Obi Wan is visibly shaken, which catches Cody's attention even with all the painkillers he's on. If this was a video game, this would be the time when Obi Wan levels up and unlocks the path toward real friendship (and maybe something deeper) with Cody. The genuine care he has shown him, not just for him as a soldier but as a person causes Cody to reevaluate some things. He already genuinely liked Obi Wan. The Jedi has more than earned his trust. But now he’s like “Okay, this guy took time out of his day to come and see if I was alright because he wanted to. It wasn’t a matter of duty. He, personally, was worried so to soothe that worry, he went out of his way to come and check on me.” Cody figures out he really means something to Obi Wan and that’s a weird sort of feeling since he has only ever had his brothers to look out for him. He sees the man behind the titles and that man looks way more vulnerable than he expected him to and it really makes Cody begin to feel something new for him. It's a feeling he doesn't quite understand yet though.
As for when Cody actually realises, I think it would be after an arc like the Battle of Umbara. A moment in the war where there are a lot of clone casualties. Cody comes off as a very serious, stoic person but it doesn’t mean he actually is. That’s just how he presents himself. But even if he was, one person can only take so much. He would take all the casualties much harder than normal. It would’ve been building up for a while and then this latest tragedy in a long line would finally cause him to snap (of course Cody snapping is vastly different from most people because he still largely has his shit together).
Of course, Obi Wan is no stranger to loss. He doesn’t want to risk comparing their experiences, but he does come to see Cody. They don’t talk immediately. He just sits with him so he isn’t alone.
After a while, Cody tells him he’s not sure how much more of it he can take. Obi Wan has no idea how he manages it. Losing Qui Gon was bad enough for him. He can’t imagine what it would be like for him to lose more of the Jedi. Don’t worry dude you’ll find out pretty soon.
Instead, he starts to tell Cody about what the Jedi believe about loss. It isn’t a lesson. He isn’t preaching at him. He’s just trying to share part of his life with a man he deeply cares about. Cody knows that. Obi Wan tells him that from the very beginning of their training, the Jedi masters reiterate over and over that the force flows through everything. It’s the foundation of the entire Jedi religion. The force is the only constant in the universe. To the Jedi, there is no death. You can’t ever really die, you just become one with the force. Cody asks him if he really believes that, or if it actually makes him feel better. Obi Wan answers that he knows it’s the truth. If he closes his eyes and focuses hard enough, sometimes he thinks he can still feel Qui Gon’s presence in the force. He’s not entirely sure how much of it is real and how much of it’s in his head though. On bad days, it doesn’t make him feel better. It still hurts that he’s gone, but when he’s able to think more rationally, it can be quite reassuring. He just tries to live his life in a way that he hopes honours Qui Gon and he tells Cody that’s what he does every day. There’s a reason why his brothers look up to him so much. There’s a reason why he was made commander so quickly. They listen to him and they trust him to look out for them, so just by being himself, he honours their memory. He also says he knows Cody can’t feel the force, but when he first came to Kamino, he was struck by just how brightly he and all his brothers shine in the force. It’s proof they’re alive, no matter what anyone in the senate says, and the force has a place for them too. They aren’t an exception and they won’t be left behind.
I know Mando’a is used a lot in fics, but realistically I don’t think Jango would’ve cared to spend enough time with the clones for them to pick up some of his language. I love the fics that do it, but going with the idea that they don’t understand Mando’a, I think Obi Wan would go on to talk about what he knows about Mandalorian culture because he truly believes its relevant to the clones and that they should be allowed to have some sort of connection to it because they came from a Mandalorian. Over the years, he’s learned a lot and has picked up different pieces of the language but there’s one phrase that stuck with him. It’s a phrase you’ve probably seen used in fanfiction before.
"Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la "
"Not gone, merely marching far away"
He tells Cody he secretly likes this idea more than the idea of becoming one with the force, although he definitely shouldn’t. It feels somewhat like a betrayal of his ideals but the idea that all the people they lost aren’t gone forever, but are just marching ahead of them, brings him a lot more comfort. Maybe they can catch up with them eventually. He also points out that these two concepts are different but both go with the idea that death isn’t the end. With so many different cultures and religions across the Galaxy sharing this idea of there being something more than just this one life, they can’t all be wrong. It stands to reason that, one day, maybe they’ll meet again.
Cody can read between the lines. Obi Wan isn’t saying this to convince him to get over his grief, he’s sharing the weight of it with him. He’s letting him know that even Jedi struggle with this and that he isn’t alone. That to grieve is to be alive and that in order to feel grief, you have to have felt love first.
He also knows his Jedi well enough to see a little undercurrent of anger in Obi Wan’s words. Cody know what Obi Wan thinks of the clones and how they're treated. He knows he’s angry because the clones aren’t given the time or the resources to mourn their brothers. The Jedi have elaborate funerals and the clones gets nothing. Obi Wan needs Cody to know he’s not alone because he recognises that the rest of the galaxy is trying to make him feel like he is. He wishes he could give Cody some kind of justice. Cody knows he can’t and he doesn’t blame him. The Jedi had almost as little choice in being part of the war as the clones did.
It’s during this conversation that Cody realises he loves him. How could he not? It’s sort of his “fuck it” moment where he stops suppressing the feelings he obviously has because Obi Wan is trying so hard to be there for him. It’s a little overwhelming, if he’s being honest, because people do not take the time to say things like this to him. Obi Wan isn’t saying the things he’s saying to do anything other than reach out to him and hold onto him so he doesn’t get lost in his feelings (something that very nearly happened to him when he lost Qui Gon) and Cody loves him. After that point, there’s nothing he can do to avoid thinking about it. He loves him so much and he’s never loved anyone like this before in his entire life and he isn’t sure what to do with all that love. He loves Obi Wan because he earned his love so many times. Cody just hopes the Jedi can't feel how strong his feelings are. (Spoiler alert: he can.)
As for when Obi Wan realises, it would be something so small. Something really trivial that would make him realise.
Cody and Obi Wan get into an habit of doing paperwork together. They don’t need to talk to each other, it’s just to have the company. At one point, probably quite late at night, Cody started grumbling about how illegible Rex’s reports from the latest mission they were on together are. Rex is a fantastic soldier but his ability at filling in forms is catastrophic. Obi Wan just watches him get more and more frustrated and that’s when he realises that he could fill out boring paperwork with this man forever. In fact, he hopes he gets to, even after the war is over. Doing dull things with him is the part of his day he looks forward to the most. It’s grounding. Cody balances him out perfectly. They are just similar enough and just different enough that, when they have time together where they aren’t being shot at by droids or attacked by Separatists, Obi Wan feels so calm. He rarely gets to feel like that in his life. Cody is the only one who can evoke the feeling. The beauty of their relationship is in the little moments and that's when he knows.
17. Who fell in love first?
Definitely Obi Wan. I think Cody had feelings way earlier than most people think he did, but he needed longer to figure out what it was he was feeling. Obi Wan knew almost immediately though because it’s not the first time he’s felt this way. I will never ever downplay Satine’s importance in Obi Wan’s life and what Obi felt for her and what he feels for Cody are equally important but very different. Satine was his first love and so it was very strong feelings combined with a lot of guilt. He was still coming to terms with his identity and his place in the Jedi order. With Cody, he’s had time to grow up and learn to process these things better and also not be so hard on himself. There’s something quieter about their love too. It's just as strong, but there’s simultaneously something much calmer about it. I also wholeheartedly believe this man is a hopeless romantic, he just can’t act on his feelings because he’s a Jedi so they’re like stories in his head he can use to escape from reality for a while if he needs to. It’s like his happy place. He imagines all the things he’d do with Cody if there wasn’t a stupid war in the way and he didn’t have any responsibilities. And they aren’t impossible fantasies or anything. The feelings between them are mutual. There’s a chance one day when the war is over, maybe just maybe they could find a way to make it work. If anyone could do it, it would be them. It's an idea Obi Wan holds very close to his heart when he feels run down or lost. The hope there is for the future, a future that Cody definitely has a place in if it's what he wants. The war has changed the Jedi order permanently anyway. Obi Wan wonders what else could change and what possibilities it could lead to.

How about Raidou for that ask game
HAHAHA YAYYYY i love raidou did you know that. i know it’s hard to tell.
favorite thing about them
GAHH I feel like everything I could say I’ve already said before. He’s so kind and cares so much about everything and I like how even though he’s not conventionally expressive - He doesn’t really smile, he doesn’t speak much, and he doesn’t voice his opinions too often - he’s still so passionate. He loves his friends and he loves the capital and maybe he doesn’t smile about it like you’d expect but he’s willing to do anything for that love.
least favorite thing about them
I don’t have a least favorite thing. even the stuff that makes me go “dude.” is so endearing.
favorite line
“B-but I can’t abandon my duty 🥺”
brOTP
I’ll never stop posting about nahobino/raidou/demifiend they’re so funny to me. He’s doing his duty by convincing a god and demon not to explode the capital and yes bowling is necessary for that gouto stop asking so many questions
OTP
stares at you. would you be surprised if I said raishura. They’re both allowed to be whatever around each other because they’re both just tools to be used at the end of the day. Raidou’s tied to the yatagarasu. TDE Demifiend is tied to lucifer’s army. They both had to shed who they once were to be who they are now but they just can’t let go of it either. Neither of them really get a choice anymore, but they still choose each other. THEY MAKE ME INSANE.
nOTP
Shrugs. I don’t know any that really weird me out. I’m sure there’s some but if there are I’m clueless.
random headcanon
Transgender 🔥 [coughs]
I like the idea that he’s really into mahjong. He’s probably got a few sets in his room, which is also like the full extent of his personal items. I don’t think he buys much for himself that isn’t entirely functional but I fully believe he bought himself a mahjong set once or twice and is always kind of looking for an excuse to use them. The sinister sparrow chapter changed my brain chemistry
unpopular opinion
UH. I don’t know. Are there even enough raidou fans out there for there to be unpopular opinions?
song i associate with them
this is cheating but idgaf. this is a raidou song to me.
