!!!SPOILERS FOR METALOCAYLSPE ARMY OF THE DOOMSTAR!!!!! i'm going to be talking about a scene and my thoughts when first watching so please if you haven't seen scrollllll!! this is just me over analyzing a scene in my metalocalypse brain rot

this right here of Nathan SHOVING murderface back under the water really spiked the anxiousness I felt in this scene but in a invested way, they're not just half assing this like they might've done before, they are like "Get BACK under the water" if done wrong they could have killed him, there's a lot going on here omg they have to be roigh with their friend knowing that he's under someones control. so there's them being strategic with it but also a panic to get it over with, because when have they ever had to drown someone? let alone someone they are close with

then the look they all share once murderface had gone still- this short scene had no reason to be ripping my heart out /lh they could've written them all to be smiles and be like "job well done" and leave murderface in the water alone as a joke, but no we get them as the most quiet they've ever been, and saying so MUCH without even speaking, because once he goes limp there is no sigh of relief, they're tired from whats been going on so they take a moment to catch their breaths Nathan- looks the most panicked here, he doesn't know if he and the others went too far, he doesn't know if he went too far, he is already feeling the weight of it all for having messed up the song and put them all in this situation. So the idea they could have just killed one of their bandmates just like that, and so quickly while once again from him trying to do the right thing must be the most scared he's ever been, or at least ever let himself feel, and its bubbling VERY close to the surface here. Toki- he also shares a similar scared expression and looks to his more level headed bandmate (as much as skwizgaar could be) for some kind of reassurance or look that lets him know its fine and they did something right. or that murderface is okay Skwisgaar- his facial expression lets nothing out, no fear but also no answer, he also is just quietly waiting for the other shoe to drop I don't quite have the words to explain how pickles might be feeling in this moment but the overall feeling from them all is a quiet silence as they wait on baited breath to know whether in these past 30 seconds if they just saved their friend or did they all fail

the cpr scene: This is where again are SILENT but are letting a lot be said but are not saying anything out loud its so AUGH

^ and there it is, in this brief moment seeing his bandleader hunched over desperately trying to revive their bass player, not saying anything and no guitar to pick at to relieve stress- skwizgaar is scared. maybe you could say he looked to Nathan and pickles for his own reassurance but at this moment no one here has a rock to lean on and they're scared. They're never ones to say how they care or show it a lot but it's evident the way how scared they are in the fact murderface might be actually dead

Pickles solem attempt to get nathan to stop cpr, thinking that's it, that nothing more could be done this time Nathan's frustrations and fear the most prominent because he CAN'T lose again, everything coming to an ugly head here with just the four of them to witness it

their rock crumbling in front of them skwizgaar laying a comforting hand on pickles, he normally doesn't appreciate his bandmates being touchy but at this moment its an act for someone else okay rambling session over, i loved this movie

After it was announced to the team that Fade would be joining, needless to say the reaction was tepid at best. The atmosphere at the base which had been tense the past months with all the dossiers had hardly lifted.

As much as Fade wanted to act like it didn’t bother her— after all, she’d wanted them to be scared of her— but it was… difficult.

Being ignored, she could understand. She was used to that— being a shadow, the others not wanting to even meet her eye.

But after awhile, it settled into the familiar dull ache of loneliness. The others were always cordial and cooperative on missions, but after when the toughened facade for battle was dropped, she’d watch Jett joking with Phoenix, or Neon’s loud laugh that filled the plane, and feel alone.

The only person who treated her somewhat normally was Cypher, whom she’d come to a tentative agreement with through the interrogation, and strangely… you

From the research she’d done, you’re one of the newer agents. Perhaps that’s why you don’t hold the same reservations about her— you hadn’t been as integral in the protocol so Fade hadn’t targeted you as much. It seemed you were friendly with all of the other agents, yet you were often on your own.

She would see you in the community kitchen. It seemed you enjoyed baking and making food in general— that was how you bonded with the other agents.

One day, Fade was heading to the kitchen after her workout for a snack and found you there. You turned around and beamed— not something she had expected at all

“Just the person I was looking for!” you smile. It turns sheepish, “um, would you like to have some tea? The leaves just started steeping.”

Fade nods silently, almost hesitant. The two of you begin chatting, mostly you talking about anything and Fade nodding, a neutral expression on her face. It’s empty conversation— not about anything in particular. Her workout, you complaining about Yoru always flashing you around corners. It’s… actually really nice. Bit by bit, she feels her guard receding.

Soon the tea is done steeping and you pour it out into two sizable mugs and the two of you sit down. The warm mug clinks against her rings and she looks down at the steaming liquid— black tea, her favorite. Suddenly it feels easier to look down at the mug than at you.

You shift in your seat a bit, awkward. Fade is honestly an intimidating person, not just from what the other agents had said and the information she had released, but she was just so cool.

You consider yourself not the most extroverted person. You enjoyed your hobbies and work in the Valorant protocol, but talking was never always easy. The way Fade commanded herself on the battlefield and around others filled you with awe. She just seemed always in control, though a bit sad.

That’s why you’d had the thought to make some tea. You knew Fade liked to come into the kitchen around mid-morning for a post-workout snack and, well, nothing cheered someone up like a bit of home. While Fade was always brewing some sort of coffee, you’d hoped perhaps she’d like something different, that showed your thoughts about her—

Well, not like that sort of thoughts. You flush slightly and realize it’s been quiet for some time. Oh god, were you making this awkward?

Fade sips the tea. The strong flavor washes over her, a hint of citrus and sugar in the blend. It was like home. She blinks fast, suddenly aware of burning in her eyes.

“It’s good,” she says.

You feel like she’s still on guard a bit. Your worry at your lip, hoping desperately that your gesture hasn’t made her uncomfortable.

“Hey,” you start, awkward. “I just… I’m happy you joined the protocol. I never feel scared going into site when I know your eyes are watching.”

4. If you could put this character in any other media, be it a book, a movie, anything, what would you put them in?

Ohhh oh my gosh uhh brain rot

I have so many unrelated to Zexal or Yu-Gi-Oh media in general I thought of putting her in. I already made a fic of Danganronpa AU and it's really fun to think about all the Zexal cast being in Danganronpa universe and solve murder cases in trials. Dark Deception AU is one of them where she's stuck with another member of Zexal cast, I don't want to divulge too much around it or this post will turn into a paper scroll.

8. What's something the fandom does when it comes to this character that you despise?

Omg the spicy questions. I have seen many things over the years that I despise, and sometimes I wondered if those people just hate her character or women in general at this point.

I also rewatched Zexal many times and of course paid much closer attention to her being my fave than most people, but I still don't understand why people popularised so much the idea of Kaito basically hating Droite just for existing… the way she's talked about and treated in some fanfictions is abysmal, abusive and mysoginistic…. things Kaito would never ever dare in canon… Like okay sure characters in fanfics can be OOC all the time, but it almost feels it's the most popular perception to me… and in canon it's Droite dominating him in most situations and those two seem to respect each other since she cheers for him in his duel with Yuma and he intercepts Shark to say she should be the one dueling, it just shows these two at the end of the day respect each other as individuals and as duelists ever since they literally trained together as elite duelists.

Kaito treated so many other characters like sh8t and people were like “it's him acting like a lone soldier”, “it's a facade” etc. but when it came to Droite, where the animators made sure that Kaito doesn't truly feel that way, people believed it? It almost feels like the fandom wants him to hate her, for her feelings to be unrequited, rejected, sh8tted on and insulted, humiliated just to fit some kind of agenda and this just didn't sit right with me. I also think she's overly criticized for her feelings for Kaito when there are many other characters like Kotori, Cathy and Anna crushing over the same guy and being more unnecessary than Droite’s will ever be, I think her feelings fits her due to her backstory, I just don't like how the writers completely dropped it after introducing it for many episodes and instances up to episode 54 and never mentioned again after 55 maybe. Heck even Akari's nonsensical “love story” with Charlie can be sh8tted on or so many problematic ships openly shipped in zexal fandom but people draw the line at the ship of two perfectly normal adults? Give me a break.

I also saw a ton of fics where Droite treated Gauche like sh8t over Kaito, it's just… sigh… I don't know I just I guess I despise the idea of my faves hating eachothers guts for no reason? :’) Most of the time it feels like people projecting onto their faves ngl

As you can notice this post mainly surrounds around her “feelings” and I guess that's also the biggest thing that drawn hatred to this character in the first place, but I like to see her as a character instead and appreciate the good things about her which I never ever see being talked about by the people who have claimed to like her, just as a precious moot said “people think it's progressive to hate on her for traditional feminine traits instead of seeing her as a character” which I think is the perfect explanation to this.

17. What do you do when writing becomes difficult? (maybe a lack of inspiration or writers block)

Scream, cry, throw up and tell myself I'm useless and no one likes my writing anyway so what's the point

Then, once I get myself together, I go for walks with instrumental music in my ears which usually helps, I read other books and fics to see how different authors have pulled off what I'm trying to write, watch movies to see how the characters express their emotions, and talk it out with my friends, which usually helps me with plot holes and scene placements, and then at some point, something unlocks. But it can sometimes take quite a while (case in point, chaper 9 is doing my head in)

20. Have you noticed any patterns in your fics? Words/expressions that appear a lot, themes, common settings, etc?

Oh man, YEAH! I tend to use the eyes for expressions a lot, "a heavy silence fell over them" "she softly shook her head", my imagery tends to revolve around fire, water, nature... there's a lot more that I forget. Is there anything you've picked up on?

21. Would I ever collaborate with a fanartist on a story?

HELL YES, that would be a dream! Fanart is always appreciated and I will sob happy tears.

71. Did you have any ideas that didn’t make the final cut of in the cracks of light?

I kinda wish there had been a scene with drunk Edwin flirting before I put Ed through recovery, but oh well.

So far it hasn't been so much about ideas not making the cut, it's more about initial ideas I've had being transformed and refined into something more plot relevant that also raises the stakes.

Like at first I was going to have Ed just having started to date Winry's counterpart before she suddenly dies and the real Winry shows up. But then I thought it would be much more fun for him to "see" Winry coming through the Gate and also having Winry's counterpart be Sarah and Yuri's dead daughter to have a parallel between the parents who lost a daughter and the daughter who lost her parents. yes I'm evil, what about it

Also, the mystery plot was initially going to be a lot more straightforward, with Roy immediately knowing Jake was lying and figuring out Winry had been yeeted to the other world. Then I thought (overthought) more about it and went "hmm but what if this happens, and what if that happens" and... yeah. Initially it was going to be a lot more "narrow", with only Winry, Ed, Al, Roy and Riza as the characters we saw most, but it has now evolved to include Armstrong, Sciezka, Rose, Maria Ross, Fritz, Sarah and Yuri, Russell and Paninya.

And lastly, I thought it would be 10k at most... now we're looking at 100k, if not more.

omg hi baah itsa me J.J :] anyways WHY is writing like an actual fanfic so HARD?? whenever i do hcs/ficlets shit comes so easy but the second i gotta formulate my word vomit into actual musings?? brain go THUNK. also the fact that i elected to write this from ichijs pov (the. the hardest sib for me to write for.) is NOT helping 😭😭 first 1k is just him being melodramatic and very sad as fuck

anyways i didnt just come into your box to yell-- heres some food. and also my hesitant attempt to see what reiju would be like as anything but a dom bc ive been curious abt it:

so whenever reiju loosens her dominatrix reigns a bit niji brings out a bit of tha whore in her and she loves it :) (but also a situation like this happens SPECIFICALLY and ONLY post wci/germa cover story bc i feel like reiju would soften up on niji and yonji a bit after they showed genuine concern for her when she was in danger during wci and also bc they were literally kidnapped and presumably tortured by the Charlottes in 'emotionless excursion') this is a hill i choose to die on

like theyd just be chillin in bed together doing nothin in particular, vibing in each others presence, and suddenly niji begins running his hand up and down reijus thigh and at first shes like "aw affection attempt how cute :]" but then his hand starts moving more and more inwards and she goes *"ah."*

they dont even have to say anything bc its just an all around safe, chill environment all while nijis hand keeps moving up until it's slipped under reijus dress and underwear (if she was even wearing any underwear in the first place 👁👁)

during all this they fr just stay where they are and continue what theyve been doing this whole time, the only difference being niji now fingering reiju and she just relaxing back into a pillow and sighing happily about it

ofc after she came (niji definitely didnt send out little electric sparks on her clit periodically to make sure she squirted and was overstimulated nooo i dont know what your talking about 🙂🙂) she turned to him and said smthn like

"youre getting tied up for that later."

Now, while you're write about me kinda preferring 1234ji together I have to say this dynamic between niji and reiju is so tasty 🤌 I love reiju having a soft spot for him (and yonji too (and also ichiji bc why not lol)) and just letting him touch her as he pleases. It's also endearing how he started slow and soft, like, he was really trying to be a good boy and not rush things

THE BEST PART THO, NIJI USING HIS POWERS??? TO MAKE HER CUM LIKE SHE DESERVES?? WE LOVE A MAN THAT KNOWS HOW TO DO THEIR JOB. Damn I never thought of that but that's a perfect use of his abilities, I can imagine reiju trained him to do just the right amount so he wouldn't overstimulate her, but he felt daring this time and took it up a notch. GIBSON AND GORO ARE SO IMPORTANT TO ME!!!! despite their history there was never any lingering hostility or anything between them. they respected each other so much and took so much inspiration from one another and grew as people because of it. like gibson had been so arrogant and almost selfish in his debut eps but he transformed thanks to goro's influence and became such a humble and selfless person like even when he was dying he never put himself first. it was all about keeping his promise to goro, and making up for lost time with junior, and upholding the pride of his country, even if it meant putting his life on the line to do so. and in the last arc of season 5 we saw how he touched the hearts of fans all around the world with his resolve and i think it's so so beautiful

I really REALLY like how you show the healthy Sub x Dom dynamics in it. Where the sub feels safe with the dom and willingly (like it's a second nature to them) submits to them. A lot of time I see it being forced, like genuinely genuinely forced and I hate it. Being a sub myself I know for a fact I'm not letting anyone force themselves on me.

I also like how you pointed out "he was submitting to you as much as you were submitting to him" and how even without saying he - the dom- knew about the sub's need. That's truly how a healthy sub x dom relationship is like to me. The dom aren't just on the top so they can force themselves onto the sub and get what they want, they are on top because that's their nature.

A true and healthy dom would care about their sub's needs more than theirs. That's the responsibility you shall take, you should be willing to postpone your pleasures to satisfy your sub first. A true dom would always respect the fact that someone put all their trust in them and they'd more than happily fulfill their duties as a dom and this was portrayed so well in the fic. I can't tell how much I appreciate the way you've shown that in the fic AND ALSO I WAS SIMPING SO BAD OVER SUGURU JUST YESTERDAY MORNING I CAN'T EVEN TELL YOU THE UNHOLY THOUGHTS ARFGGGHHHHHGGG and this fulfilled and SERVED me. Monday, January 8th, 2024!

11:32am HCI class this morning, really boring still I regret to inform everyone 😂 no tests this semester, just projects. Easy A but a real brain drain. Not letting the brain drain get to me though! Hopped out of that class (9-11am) and now I'm at Panera getting free coffee (it's chilly out!). I'm going to shoe carnival to use a $15 voucher and also other little errands today. I just realized I'm really hungry (I had 2 prebiotic sodas last night and absolutely BLEW UP this morning so I actually don't think there's anything in my stomach tbh haha). I think I should get a snack bc my stomach will pass start hurting soon. Just checking in! New semesters can be overwhelming so I'm gonna keep coming back here.

11:49am have selected bogo bacon mcdoubles for lunch with my coffee :) eating food is good for you! I am very thankful ❤️

2:34pm lol I went down a rabbit hole and I'm about to be off my phone for the rest of the day. But it's worth it bc I looked on Vividseats and found a $20 after tax ticket to see Company at the Straz tmrw. I have heard of this musical before but didn't know what it was or any of the songs. Omg I didn't the last 1.5 hrs listening to the original Broadway cast recording in my car and investigating the plot and I am very excited!! This is EXACTLY what I'm talking about I had no idea that's what I was going to do today and definitely had no idea I was going to see a Broadway show tomorrow night when I freaking woke up this morning, how do I explain to people that this literally is my hobby. Novelty and new experiences is my hobby. Learning about things is my hobby. Listening to new music is my hobby. Reading about how they are being hot and *controversial* about the gender swap in this revival of a 50+ year old play?? I find this fascinating and I am excited AF now about something I couldn't tell you one lick about this morning. This is my favorite thing to do. This is such a perfect example of my idea of a good time.

Do other people never do things like this?? It's spontaneous, but not expensive or dangerous or retarded, it's just spontaneous and interesting to me personally.

4:05pm I actually went to shoe carnival and used the coupon in their email and got a pair of yellow box sandals for $7 even! Just got home, ate a granola bar and am about to take a nap.

11:45pm I want to text him. I'm ALSO FIVE DRINKS IN LMAO. OFC I wish I had a man to fuck rn. I GOT MYSELF DINNER AND DRINKS!!!! NOW it feels like I've been wined and dined and primed to FUCK. But it's literally just me.... I wined and dined myself bc it's the first day of school, things are stressful and they're bound to be more stressful going forward. I wanted to treat myself before I get depressed AF. Is there another man/ woman here?? Fuck NO. I got ME, MYSELF and I BITCH. Dinner was a delicious pizza from king state and a cocktail and 4 shots while I watched "Hair" so yeah ofc I'm COMFORTABLE AND TURNED ON THAT'S LITERALLY ALL IT FUCKING TAKES I'M NOT DIFFICULT BY ANY FUCKING MEANS. one day there will be a man that understands, but until then it's just me, I got me, I know me better than anyone else. All the men I've met are JUST A DELUSION IN MY MIND BRO I KNOW WHAT I WANT AND I *CLEARLY* HAVE NOT MET HIM YET and that's ok,bc ..... I got ME.

Hopefully this rant has dissuaded me from texting him bc wtf he's SO FUCKED UP EVEN IF HE ACTUALLY CARED ABOUT ME HE'S UNABLE TO FUCKING DO SHIT ABOUT IT.
