"Oi! Are you Shimotsuki?"
Turning to his left, he squinted a bit against the sun and leaned over the railing to see a young man around his own age, dark hair mussed and a huge duffel bag slung over his shoulder. His face was open and friendly and his bright eyes stared up at Zoro expectantly.
"No, uh… she's in the shop," he offered, gesturing vaguely downwards towards the door. Then, his brain catching up, he continued, "are you… Garp's… new tenant?" Apparently the boy found the question amusing, because his face split into a huge grin and he broke into a peal of laughter.
"Haha, yeah, I guess that's me!" he stated, still smiling up at Zoro. For some reason, it made Zoro want to smile back.
Roronoa Zoro, university student and florist, meets someone for the first time that he already knows.

The impact was lessened by the cultural gap between the two, granted, but she had to begrudgingly give him credit where it was due regardless. Such was why, upon her refusal, Kitana had turned her gaze away from the man and toward the fan blade that had seemingly apparated into being, a visible shift of her attention perhaps made a bit too obvious. Without line of sight, Cage's persuasiveness would be further hampered--and more importantly?
"Perhaps Tanya would be interested."
He'd take her suggestion as a good idea and leave her to her own devices, becoming someone else's problem in the process.

It Begins
Fellow Watchers,
After months of silence, shadows, and uncertain peace, the Third War of The Watch may finally be at our doorstep.
During a routine speech made by King Sean yesterday afternoon, blatant, overt signs of The Enemy’s magic took place that far outweighed any signs we have seen in the last year, if not more.
More than the cryptic message, more than the severely corrupted magical records, and yes, even more than the ominous green form that seemed to hover just behind the king’s shoulder for a moment, the timing cannot be mere coincidence. Mere weeks after King Sean announced that a consultant from The Watch had officially joined his court and that news of the Missing Lords would soon be forthcoming, The Enemy has finally, finally made his move.
And once again, he uses the opportunity to toy with us.
I can hardly claim surprise at this point. Ever since the message her left for us all in 1613, the fateful “Still here I see” that haunts many of us to this day, The Enemy has delighted in mocking The Watch for our ceaseless focus on him. For years now he has claimed that our attention is what fuels his power. While it would be fruitless, even downright suicidal to do otherwise, the possiblity that we are responsible for each new threat weighs heavily upon many of us, a fact The Enemy knows full well.
The message began as a simple speech, and multiple severely corrupted magical records have been consulted to transcribe the remainder as follows:
“Hey, I just wanted to let you know that I appreciate you. The fact that you’re here, the fact that you show up every time to watch these speeches, not knowing when it’s gonna end. Not even knowing when it’s gonna start. Not even knowing what I’m gonna say next, you’re hanging by a thread, and that thread is getting weaker and weaker. You don’t even know that I’m real. You don’t know if what I’m saying right now is coming from a real person. I could be fake. But the fact that you’re here… still hanging out… means the world to me. Thank you.”
The first signs of The Enemy’s magical signature manifested immediately after the word “speeches” and increased in intensity from that point on. At the first instance of the word “thread,” the corruption hit it’s first peak, to the point where even attendees with no training in magical detection could hear an unnatural shift in the king’s voice. After “real”, the king seemed to vanish entirely for a moment, with some records seeming to show a green form standing directly behind his shoulder. Finally, the corruption hits its second peak, even more intense than the first.
We do not know for absolute certain that The Enemy was present during these events, or if this was simply a side effect of some deeper plan. It is well documented that King Sean suffers from the Influence Curse, and it would not be the first time that The Enemy’s intent has bled through into a proclamation, though rarely to this degree.
Regardless of the specifics, one thing is clear: The Enemy is making his next moves, and we must Keep The Watch for what, I fear, may be the Third War of The Watch lingering over the horizon.
